Speaker 1 (00:00):
On today's episode of News, we're talking about news News.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
It's Newsams.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
Hello, it was Jason Eonceptsi own and I'm Rosey Night
and welcome back to Extra Vision, the podcast where we
dive deep into your favorite shows, movies, comics of pop culture.
Coming over My Heart podcast. We'll bring you three episodes
a week every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday plus News which is
today news episode?
Speaker 3 (00:38):
Have you heard us whispering and News? Well, guess what?
Now you're listening to the news and it's wow.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
You know what? Twenty twenty five, it's just not stopping
in any.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Way, shape or form, including when it comes to big
geek news headlines like a GTA six trailer ba ba
ba will.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
We ever get it? I don't know, numerous.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Interesting a novel news and even a little unexpected horror
trailer that I know.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Me and Jason are both very excited for.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
First up GTA six trailer for GTA six game is
coming out of course twenty twenty six summer of twenty
twenty six, and the story trailer whoo looks looking incredible,
looks very cinematic. We meet our main character named Jason.
He's living out like in the Florida Keys. He picks
(01:32):
up our other main character, Lucia, who have a what
appears to be like a Bonnie and Clyde kind of relationship.
And Folks, you're gonna be excited for the game when
you see this.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Do you like GTA six?
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Do you I mean, do you like GTA Then you're
gonna like this game, you know what I mean? Like
we're seeing vi Citi esque vibes, we are seeing a
beautiful ps fibe quality.
Speaker 2 (01:59):
We are seeing.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
You know, you're gonna get to shoot people and make
your car look cool and run away from the police
and get out to those five stars and see the helicopters,
you know, all the stuff that you like to do,
and you will inevitably get stuck for a really long
time on like a very annoying mission, like the drone
mission inside.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
The parking lot.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
You know you're it's gonna happen, but you're gonna love it.
Will it really come out in twenty twenty six?
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Who knows it was meant to come out this year?
We've been hearing it.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
It's almost like a legendary piece of like mythology at
this point. But I hope we'll see it next year, Jason,
if we make it there.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
I hope we will too. Next up, new trailer has
dropped for The Long Walk. Wow, the adaptation of the
Stephen King, as Richard Bachman novel from the seventies said,
in a dystopian United States run by a totalitarian regime
that has a competition in which young men have to
(02:57):
basically just walk until they drop in the last one
standing wins.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Now I've seen people.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
There's a screen rant article that came out today that
was like, the Long Walk looks very much like the
Hunger Games. It's like maybe this story was written thirty
years before the Hunger Games was a glimmer in anyone's eye.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
The whole point like, that's such a yeah, silly take,
especially because the movie is very knowingly directed by Francis Lawrence.
You not only made our fav Constantine, but also made
all the Hunger Games movies. This is definitely one of
those early kind of a dangerous game star stories. But
what you have here that is I think a classic
King move is the simplicity of the story makes the nightmare.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
That's the Stephen King thing is. It's simple.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
The cost just looks like so good.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
You have David Johnson, who we love from a Alien
most recent Alien movie, he played Andy.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
You know, It's just.
Speaker 3 (03:56):
You got a lot of really cool character actors here,
and so I saw that a lot of people were
quite excited about is it is not your usual kind
of sexy cubu cast. These look like real kids that
you could know, real people that you could kind of see.
And I think that's another part of the horror of
(04:17):
Stephen King. It's always about what could be happening next
door to you, what could be happening in your own house.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
And yeah, this looks really scary but really good.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
And I feel like often smaller King vehicles don't get
the adaptations that they necessarily deserve, or they end up
getting kind of smaller adaptations or weird adaptations that don't
make it to cinema.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
So I'm very excited to see this and it looks
kind of horrific. We also get Mark Hamill in villain mode,
which I think is very.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
But as if you're a Batman the animated series fan,
you know, he's an iconic villain.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
So yeah, I can't wait. September twelfth. Looks horrifying, but
in the kind of way that we love.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
Let's take a quick break, all back the mornings. Up
next x Men news. The apparently rumors out of Hollywood
(05:19):
Wow from Deadline say that X Men is circling Thunderbolts
director Jake Schreer to assemble the new X Men team.
And I think, if that's true, that would be fantastic.
Speaker 2 (05:30):
Understand it, I get it. I get why they would
pick him.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Deadline continues that the project is of course being produced
by Kevin Figee. It's going to be probably the most
important film that's not an Avengers film that they make
in the next few years, and is written by Michael
Leslie so excited to.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Say interesting Michael Leslie brier of the Hunger Games Ballad
of Songbauds and Snakes movie, which was a so a
big hit.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
So I understand why they are going to him. I
am excited to see how this evolves.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
And obviously, Kevin Fige you know me and Jason the
hair if you need us.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
Uh. And in more X Men news, the streets are
saying more rumors that and this is, by the way,
comes from Twitter user why are you still on there?
Speaker 3 (06:25):
Main middleman, dude, you would not every week And this
is not to take away from what they get right.
Every week I learn a new name of like a
person who is a Marvel like Scoopa on the internet,
and it is always something that I would just never believe.
It's like any MENI Miny Moe, or it's like I
love stars or something.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
But yes, this this one is allegedly.
Speaker 1 (06:48):
This is from Maine Middleman on Twitter. Reported then and
picked up and aggregated by MCU film news again.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Okay again a flat out rumor.
Speaker 3 (06:57):
I will say mc film MCU film news does have
quite a good hit rate.
Speaker 1 (07:01):
They get some stuff right, which is the only reason
to pick it up. But the rumor is that White
Lotus season three star Patrick Schwarzinger, son of Arnold, is
reportedly being considered for a role in Marvel Studio's upcoming
X Men film. And it looks like it looks like
a Scott Summer situation to me.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
Look, I gotta say it's a no from me. Make
him like more for something I don't want to.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
This is not the last Summer Colossus interesting like his
dad get really buff already. I would say I think
that Scott Summers is a very very very complex character
to get right. I also think you don't want to
go for the James Marsden route, which is like the
hunky just like any and and because he did that
(07:48):
so well and he brought so much to it, I
think that if you're doing Scott, who kind of sucks
after the White Lotus, we could obviously see Patrick in
that role. I think, though I do think he's a
bit young to do the kind of like middle age
Scott Summers in a emotional and psychic affair with Emma
(08:09):
like we got kind of.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Which is how I want to see, you know.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
And I do think that he is an interesting choice.
I think it obviously becomes kind of at this point
a lot of the Scoopers and like we you know,
it's basically fan theories and like, yeah, this is a
fan casting that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
Interestingly, the CBR reporting.
Speaker 3 (08:29):
Of this mentions that, like they were talking about Jesse Plemon's.
Speaker 2 (08:34):
Was one of the people that they were going to
put him, which I'm like, I love, I love that,
but like, who is he going to be? Like Beasts?
Speaker 1 (08:42):
I mean he could the Beast is interesting.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
I love he was amazing.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
I think he would be incredible for any role in
the X Men. I like I hope they go that route.
I'm not seen enough of of Son of Arnold to
know what kind of you know, how juicy your point,
how much Juicy has, what his chops are? Because to
your point, I think the Scott character is a very
(09:09):
complex character. He's not what he seems to be.
Speaker 3 (09:13):
Uh. He is not just your kind of like blue eyed,
all American good boy that's.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
He's got a there's a there's a depth of feeling
to him and a stridency to defend his community that
I want to see. Someone's got to be able to
conjure that passion to defend mutant rights. And yeah, I
think that's amazing, And I don't know, these rooms are
(09:39):
very interesting.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
There's also been talked about mister Sinister being the main villain,
which I think would answer some of our big questions
about how you do Magneto in.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
Now so even that's an even bigger, like much more
broad role exactly.
Speaker 3 (09:56):
Apparently John Ham was gonna play him in the New Mutants,
so I'm like, bring back Ham. I love Ham, but
uh yeah, I mean they're also saying they found their
kitty Pride, played by a young actress called Julia Butters,
who was in the Fableman's So we're in a we're
in a peak movie rumor situation with the X Men,
kind of akin to what we had with the Fantastic Four,
(10:19):
though I will say Fantastic Four was a very large
pool that slowly got narrowed down to the point where
we were right about who was gonna be in it.
We as the cinema going public who are talking about it.
So yes, Patrick Swaschenegger, good for you. I gotta be
honest with you. I need to know, like we are
both giant sized people here. I need to know who's
gonna play Storm. Then you'll have me. I'm excited, like
(10:41):
I who's gonna play Beast, who's gonna play Cyclops?
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Okay, who's gonna play Storm?
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Orso I will say, if he's gonna play Cyclops, I
think that makes the Sadie Sink would be too young
to be Geene Gray in that situation.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
So so it's gonna be interesting to see. But yeah, fun,
fun rumor times, guys.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
And then finally, the very Lisa Cologne Zayas joins Spider
Man's brand New Day. This was confirmed that the Emmy
winning fan favorite from The Bear will be joining the
cast of the fourth Tom Holland led Spider Movie. No
details yet of who she play, but like, our theory
is Miles Miles Mom.
Speaker 3 (11:16):
Yeah, come on everyone, And the thing is, I think
this is like a casting that would be so good
and makes a lot of sense because if you think
about it. Look, we all know that Rio Morales in
the Spider Verse movies is like one of the hottest
cartoon characters. She's one of the hottest moms. We know
we've had that version of her. Disney gets to reimagine
her here, and.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
I love the idea of a slightly older, still hot,
still cool, but a little bit more lived in.
Speaker 3 (11:43):
Mum also hints that we would meet Miles, maybe a
bit older.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
My ongoing theory.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Is that Peter will maybe be a teacher teaching Miles.
That could potentially be a high school or college situation.
As for whether or not this will happen, guess what,
none of us know the Sony Marvel deals. We don't
know the truth of what happened, but we do know
some theories and rumors from the Sony leaks many moons ago.
And let's just say I don't think this is out
(12:09):
of the picture.
Speaker 2 (12:11):
With a Sony Miles Marvel situation.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
I think with everybody forgetting who Peter is, it would
be very usual. It would be it would make a
lot of sense, kind of the way that he died
and the comics of people thought he died and we
got the ultimate Miles. Yes, I will just say I
think this is likely now. I will also put out
there before Thunderbolt, and I make that as a point
because I actually thought that Geraldine Viswanathan, I actually thought
(12:37):
that her portrayal as Mele, who I believe will probably
be Songbird at some point, was much more interesting and
funny and complex and well written than they usually give
the character actors when they cast them in these movies
and they're in it for like two minutes.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Which is often what happens.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
I thought it was slightly better than the ones that
we usually get, because often we will get like a
great character actor and they'll be in the movie for
two minutes or they'll be out of the movie, and
there'll be a version where you're like, oh, I heard
she was gonna be this or she was gonna be that.
This one they actually gave her like a full kind
of role, and you feel like you may see her
(13:15):
in other.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
Movies, so let's hope that it's the same.
Speaker 3 (13:18):
With Lisa and we actually get her playing like a
major role in the future of the MCU, because I
think they would just be so lucky to have her.
She's so incredible in the Bear and obviously I want
her to get that check. So yeah, I think it's
Miles and Mom.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
