Together, they talk about “Women Talking,” the powerful new film Frances produced and appears in, and about Frances’s decades-long career of incredible performances on stage and screen, from police chief Marge Gunderson in “Fargo” to a displaced worker and widow in “Nomadland.” Please join us for this special episode of You and Me Both, available on Tuesday, March 7th, just in time for the Academy Awards!

Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hi, I'm Hillary Clinton and this is my podcast. You
and me both we're between seasons right now, but I
recently had an opportunity to chat with one of my
favorite actors, who also happens to be one of my
favorite people too, and I couldn't wait to share this
conversation with all of you. Francis McDorman has been acting

(00:22):
for four decades, and in that time, she's given us
incredible performances on stage and screen, from police Chief Marge
Gunderson in Fargo to a displaced worker and widow in
Nomad Land, and along the way. She's won an astonishing
four Academy Awards and is up for another two for

(00:42):
her latest film, Women Talking, which she both appears in
and produced. We talk all about that powerful film, which
portrays a community of Mennonite women in crisis, but it
also speaks to the difficult choices many women have to
make every day. We also talk about her remarkable career,

(01:06):
going all the way back to some early advice she
was given by an agent. She sat me down and
she said, here's some things you need to know. You
gotta get that tooth fixed. I had a little chip
in my front tooth. She said you need to learn
how to use some makeup and wear high heels, because
you'd make a great pioneer woman. But they're not making
that many Westerns these days. I'm so glad Fran ignored

(01:31):
that advice, and I'm delighted to share with you our
conversation and so many others. Listen to you and me
both on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you
get your podcasts.

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Medal of Honor: Stories of Courage

Rewarded for bravery that goes above and beyond the call of duty, the Medal of Honor is the United States’ top military decoration. The stories we tell are about the heroes who have distinguished themselves by acts of heroism and courage that have saved lives. From Judith Resnik, the second woman in space, to Daniel Daly, one of only 19 people to have received the Medal of Honor twice, these are stories about those who have done the improbable and unexpected, who have sacrificed something in the name of something much bigger than themselves. Every Wednesday on Medal of Honor, uncover what their experiences tell us about the nature of sacrifice, why people put their lives in danger for others, and what happens after you’ve become a hero. Special thanks to series creator Dan McGinn, to the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and Adam Plumpton. Medal of Honor begins on May 28.
