Speaker 3 (00:23):
Starting your morning off right. A new way of talk,
a new way of understanding, because we're in this together.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
This is your Morning Show with Michael Bill Charman.
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Not just any Friday.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
Good Friday, April the eighteenth, twenty twenty five. Our Easter
address on this Good Friday is in essence asking the question,
is Easter a thing a long long time ago in
a land far far away or is it a now thing?
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Praying for the latter. We'll address that coming up.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Also, we have Ori O'Neil that'll be joining us next
half hour on one of our top stories. I'll tell
you the most surreal thing we're all dealing with. I
don't care where you're at. You got Senator Van Holland, who,
by the way, is rumored to be a presidential candidate.
So this looks like political suicide to some degree, But
(01:18):
I mean it looks like a nice hotel atrium. Here's
this MS thirteen wife beating human trafficking gang banger in
a country check shirt, wearing a Kansas City Chief super
Bowl hat, in an ad trium, drinking margaritas with a
(01:39):
potential presidential candidate.
Speaker 2 (01:41):
And you're like, where am i? You're in the matrix.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Where most see him as an enemy combatant gang criminal.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
In an invasion war.
Speaker 1 (01:56):
And then there's a whole other part of the world
country in this matrix as some innocent Maryland father mistakenly
taken or vanished and falsely imprisoned. How can the two exist?
How could you possibly be bought blind enough to the
facts to think they both exist at the same time,
(02:17):
these alternate universes and realities. Welcome to the matrix on
this good Friday.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
And only the Chief.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
He's the one we all say him tool. He has
the power because he takes a shower. Mister President, good morning.
Speaker 5 (02:35):
Well, good morning to your piece of way.
Speaker 6 (02:36):
I have to tell you, we're having a heck of
a week area.
Speaker 5 (02:38):
And we're having one crazy week.
Speaker 6 (02:40):
These people sick people we call them or up to
logod again. So it's good to be with you, and
we hope you're doing well.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
I'm doing very well, and I'll tell you why in
a minute. That was quite a moment in the Oval
office when the media is more concerned about El Salvador
and President releasing a terrorist, and it just continues with
the media narrative. You must be in all that. I mean,
a Maryland father accidentally sent to a prison and el
(03:10):
is that.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
What this guy is?
Speaker 1 (03:11):
The wife beating MS thirteen citizen of El Salvador.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
I mean, you you just can't make this up.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
How the left continues to choose the bad guy over
the good guys.
Speaker 6 (03:22):
Well, they keep choosing bad people. They keep choosing sick people.
And that's because they are very sick people. You know,
he's a mentally sick people. He's a horrible people. You
look at these people they're looking at him. They say,
he's a Maryland guy, and he's a lot.
Speaker 5 (03:36):
Worse than that.
Speaker 6 (03:36):
You know, he's an MS thirteen terrorist and we don't
want him in our country. But they're choosing him. They
think he's a beautiful person. I say, if he's such
a beautiful and highly respected guy. Why don't you let
him stay in your spam bedroom.
Speaker 5 (03:48):
They don't want to do that, right, send to the
Van Allen. They don't want to do that.
Speaker 6 (03:52):
Why don't you let him baby sit your kids?
Speaker 5 (03:54):
That don't want to do that, right, Why don't you
go get a meal with the guy right now?
Speaker 6 (03:59):
They don't want to, but they want him back in
our country because they're sick and horrible people. And this
guy a breako, right, they call him a bringo. We
say antios, that's what we say to him. You look
at him, Kilmar Audio Scarcia, that's his new name. We're
getting him the hell out of our country.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
That's where he belongs. They say, bring him home.
Speaker 6 (04:17):
I say, his home in l Salvador. He was here illegally.
He crossed the border illegally. He's one of the bad
ambres that we tell you about. And now he's not
in our country and we're not letting him come back.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
That much I can tell you.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
And how about Latitia James, Now she was very emphatic
you weren't above the law. But now suddenly it's all race,
it's all fight, it's war with the presidency, it's about
mortgage fraud and if she didn't report the profits she made,
if one of those homes is rented, could be an
issue for the irs as well.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
But no, suddenly she's a victim.
Speaker 6 (04:53):
Well you look at Letitia James, and that's somebody that's
not easy to look at.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
I can tell you that. You know, you look at her.
Speaker 6 (05:00):
She listed her father as her husband on a mortgage application.
I thought we were talking about maybe gilhan Omar who
married her brother.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
They said that a lot.
Speaker 6 (05:09):
Of people say it, you know, I called her Jojo
Binks right. Some people did some things she said, and
she's a stupid person. But you look at Letitia, but
her father as her husband, says a five unit building
is a four unit building. She's looking for rates like
nobody's ever seen before, the greatest rates, the most beautiful rates.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
And she didn't deserve the rates.
Speaker 6 (05:30):
She committed, you know, Sasquatch fraud, and she needs to
be held accountable. She's a very nasty person, said some
very nasty things about me, did some very nasty things
to me.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Now we have a chance to hold.
Speaker 6 (05:45):
Sasquatch accountable, and I think we're going to do it.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Karma's a funny thing Friday's with forty seven Harvard with
holding federal funds, and now you want to even take.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
A look at their tax exempt status.
Speaker 6 (05:57):
And these people are doing such horrible things, hating horrible
things happen on their campus. And they used to bring
smart people. Now they're putting out stupid people, and we
don't want to see that happen.
Speaker 5 (06:09):
So we're going to take a look.
Speaker 6 (06:10):
At everything with Harvard. We're going to see tax exempt,
We're going to see whether or not they're abiding by
the right rules, whether they're keeping people safe, whether they're
providing a good education, and if they're not, they're going
to lose the fund. They're going to lose it like
nobody's ever lost it before. They're going to lose it,
and they're not going to get it back. We'll turn
it into spending cuts and we'll put it towards something nice,
(06:33):
maybe our veterans, maybe roads and bridges and energy production,
instead of Harvard, which only produces stupid people.
Speaker 5 (06:40):
So we don't want to see that.
Speaker 6 (06:42):
We would be very stupid ourselves if we continued to
empower Harvard to do stupid things, and we're not going
to let it happen.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
From Harvard to Yale. Yale did a new study. Newsweek
featured it. And there has been a youth shift, especially
twenty one and under, to the Republican Party and conservativism.
A lot of people are going to point to the
victimization that took took place in this generation's life due
to COVID. I think the trans movement and how far
it went and they witnessed and rejected it.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
In their school.
Speaker 1 (07:14):
But I think a lot has to do with I mean, listen,
my president in high school and coming out of high
school was Ronald Reagan and it stuck with me throughout
a lifetime. How much credit can you take for the
way the youth has embraced common sense, I think is
what you would say, but conservativism and Republican part and
it sets up JD and others for the future. And
(07:35):
I think a big part of that equation is you.
Speaker 6 (07:39):
Well, I want to say something, right. First of all,
that's a beautiful question, right. You just did a fantastic
This is why your ratings are through the room all especial,
but through the roof, through the roof like a rocket ship,
like Jeff Bezos rocketship, which was very stupid it's a
shame that these people didn't get left in space.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
I'm going to say that right, as an explorer is
an astronaut.
Speaker 6 (08:02):
I'll tell you what. You know what, whether or not
she went up and down in the Blue Origin, these
people were already space cadets. I can tell you that.
Speaker 5 (08:09):
But let me tell you something.
Speaker 6 (08:11):
What a beautiful question, right, what a beautiful question? How
much credit can I take?
Speaker 5 (08:16):
The answer is all of it?
Speaker 6 (08:17):
Right, I will think all of the credit, because you know,
you look at these kids, right, you look at these children,
and they love me. Everybody does, by the way, even
the people who go like even Rachel man Cash, she
knows I'm the greatest thing to happen to her because
her ratings are through the roof too, which she says
my name. Even old McDonald's farm that I called the
(08:37):
zoo right the view you are and will be. They
love me to know they I knew I got to
look I gotta look very well with old McDonald.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
I also got to look very well with Ronald McDonald.
You know, we came up with the value meal.
Speaker 6 (08:51):
Great deal. It's a tremendous, tremendous deal. But these kids
love me, you know, I'm on TikTok.
Speaker 5 (08:56):
I do a fantastic job Instagram.
Speaker 6 (08:59):
I do a wonderful job. We're fighting for them, We're
fighting for the future.
Speaker 5 (09:04):
It's this here, it's just not just the future.
Speaker 6 (09:07):
And they think I'm a tremendous person because I am
a tremendous person, so they gravitate towards tremendous people.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
All joking aside.
Speaker 1 (09:14):
I remember your first run in our first coverage of
election night, and you know, I didn't think my kids
would want to come.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
They certainly don't watch dad work. And now I looked
out into the audience.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
There was my wife, there were my three children, and
at that time pre teen and early teens. No less
than that, they were twelve and ten with Trump signs.
It's like instantly the youth got you, and they get you,
and they're just starting to vote, and they're going to
vote for many generations to come. All right, let's cover
closing moments with Friday with forty seven cost. You know,
(09:45):
I always say there's three things we'll never know. How
much taxation is in each gallon of gasoline you can't
find it anywhere on the pump, how much all this
gambling is costing us, and certainly how much illegal immigration
is costing us. But Gavin Newsom alone had to refund
and medicaid in a state because one point six million
one on the dolls and it racked up eight point
(10:05):
seven billion dollars. If that's one point six million in
California only, how much does all this illegal immigration cost us?
Speaker 5 (10:14):
Well, it's costing us a lot.
Speaker 6 (10:15):
You know. You look at these illegals and we call
them bad umbras, but you look at these illegals in
the here.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
They're not supposed to be here.
Speaker 6 (10:22):
You know, you come across the country, you come across
the border illegally or immediately a criminal, and you have
to get the hell out.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
Right.
Speaker 6 (10:29):
We look at MS thirteen, they're getting the hell out.
You look at Trendy Aragua. These are very tough people
and very sick people. We call them, you know, we
call them now pen day audios.
Speaker 5 (10:41):
That's what we call them.
Speaker 6 (10:42):
Right, they're getting the hell.
Speaker 5 (10:42):
Out, We're getting them out, pen day alfuera.
Speaker 6 (10:45):
Right, I speak Spanish, you know that I don't look
at Easter is coming along?
Speaker 5 (10:51):
Right?
Speaker 6 (10:51):
Do we have the Easter bunny.
Speaker 5 (10:52):
Who I get along well with?
Speaker 6 (10:53):
Crooked Droe did not get along well with because the
Easter bunny is used to picking up eggs. They were
picking up something else. That crooked Joe was laying not
a very good thing. And he had a very bad
He had a very bad night the other night. Right,
he talked about children, and we're not going to say it,
but he said that he referred to.
Speaker 5 (11:11):
Them as a very bad term.
Speaker 6 (11:12):
You're not supposed to do that. If I did that,
people would be very upsetful. Imagine, but you have but
you have the Easter. But they got a little well
with him. You have Easter coming up, you have the pulp.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
I said an entire hour of my morning show reading
your Easter address on white House dot com and comparing
it to like Barack Obama's it was and I had
made this table.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
Well, there is no well, there is no comparison, right,
there is no. It was so great. You know.
Speaker 6 (11:40):
You look at William.
Speaker 5 (11:40):
Shakespeare, who I knew very well.
Speaker 6 (11:42):
I called him Bill and he was a tremendous guy.
And we wrote a lot of plays together.
Speaker 5 (11:47):
We wrote a lot of sonnets, we wrote a lot
of pros, we wrote a lot. Right, Romeo and Juliet I.
Speaker 6 (11:54):
Was the first pants I told him to be or
not to be.
Speaker 5 (11:59):
He said, sir, that's brilliant. Let's put it in there.
So we did that.
Speaker 6 (12:03):
We did very well.
Speaker 5 (12:04):
Julius Caesar, I knew him very well.
Speaker 6 (12:05):
What happened to him was horrible. Brutus to Bluetey was horrible.
But you look at you look at all of these things.
The illegals California, Gavin.
Speaker 5 (12:16):
Newsom right, they're coursing.
Speaker 6 (12:18):
Us so much, and you're not supposed to do that.
We're not supposed to let that happen. And we're not
going to let that happen. The days of taking advantage
of our country from anybody, other countries China, Russia, any
other country, or illegals who are coming into our country,
those days are overware ending it.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
In closing, an Easter message to your listeners.
Speaker 6 (12:37):
Happy Easter, God bless you, and God bless America.
Speaker 3 (12:40):
There it is.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
Friday, with forty seven.
Speaker 3 (12:43):
We all say.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Held the Chief, he has the power because he takes
a shower. Our gratitude to the President on this good Friday.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
It's your Morning Show with Michael del Choano.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
President Trump believes progress will be made on trade deals.
Speaker 2 (13:01):
Mark Mayfield has more.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
Trump smoke at the White House Thursday. I think that
you will see we'll make a very good deal with Channa.
Speaker 7 (13:08):
Speaking during a meeting with Italian Prime Minister George Maloney,
President Trump said he has immense respect for Maloney, and
the US is going to have little problems making deals
with Europe. Aloney told reporters she believes Italy and the
US should be able to come to terms. Trump said
the previous administration allowed other countries to rip off the US,
and he's here to stop that. The President added that
(13:28):
no country can compete with the US. I'm Mark Mayhew.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
I hate playing US versus them, the Democrats.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
The Democrat, But I don't know what Senator Chris van
Holland is thinking and how he ends up in an
aight trium of a fancy hotel with an MS thirteen
gang member wearing a Chiefs Championship hat, drinking margaritas.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Such is life in the matrix. Brian Shook makes sense
of it.
Speaker 8 (13:53):
The Democrat traveled to l Salvador Wednesday to try to
secure the return of Kilmar Abrago Garcia. The Department of
Justice has said Abrego Garcia was in the country illegally
and a member of the MS thirteen. Gang Van Holland
said the vice president of l Salvador told him the
government does not have information linking a Brago Garcia with
(14:15):
MS thirteen. The Supreme Court ruled last week the Trump
administration must facilitate a Breco Garcia's return to the US.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
I'm Brian Shook to our dead.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Six are injured in a mass shooting at Florida State University.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Reed Shepherd reports.
Speaker 4 (14:30):
The gunman the son of a Leon County Sheriff's Deputy Sheriff.
Walt McNeil says Eichner was able to get hold of
one of his mother's weapons, which was found at the scene.
Speaker 9 (14:39):
So he has been steep in the Leon County Sheriff's office.
Family engaged in a number of training programs that we have,
so it's not a surprise to us that he had
access to weapons.
Speaker 4 (14:53):
The two victims killed in the attack were not FSU students.
Classes and other activities been canceled through the day. Friday,
read Separd, Tampa.
Speaker 1 (15:01):
The Supreme Court will take up the question of birthright citizenship.
Speaker 2 (15:05):
Lisa Taylor has more.
Speaker 10 (15:06):
President Trump signed an executive order ending automatic birthright citizenship
as enshrined in the Constitution's fourteenth Amendment. Trump wants to
confer citizenship only on those who have at least one
parent who is a US citizen or permanent resident. Several
lower courts have blocked the effort. In the Highest Court,
we'll hear oral arguments next month. I'm me Sa Taylor.
Speaker 1 (15:27):
A new Star Wars movie is being made and it
will star Brian Costling. The actor made the announcement Thursday
at the Star Wars convention in Tokyo. Said the new
film will be called Star Wars star Fighter. It will
reportedly be a standalone film unconnected to the Luke Skywalker
saga and series, directed by Sean Levy, who just had
(15:48):
a huge hit with Deadpool Wolverine. Gosling assured the fans
that the script is so good with great and original characters.
A must see Star Wars star Fighter schedule hit the theater
in May of twenty twenty seven. Well, the NBA regular
season is already over. The Grizz play tonight to make
the playoffs and the play in tournament against the MAVs.
The NHL season just ended. Red Wings lost four to
(16:12):
three and overtimes. The least lightning lost four nothing to
the Rangers, Caps loss to the Penguins five to two,
and the Kings got beat five to one by the Flames.
But let the playoffs begin. Boyth days today. Conan O'Brien.
I love Conan O'Brien sixty two years old, Actor James
Woods is seventy eight, and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham. I would
(16:33):
call him comedian van triloquist. Jeff Dunham is sixty three
years old. If it's your birthday, Happy birthday. Were so
glad you were born?
Speaker 2 (16:45):
This is Kay from Surprise, Arizona.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
My Morning Shows, Your Morning Show with Michael del Chiorno.
Speaker 2 (16:58):
Hey, it's me Michael.
Speaker 1 (16:59):
You can listen to your morning show live on the
air or streaming live on your iHeart app Monday through
Friday from three to six Pacific, five to eighth Central,
and six to nine Eastern on great radio stations like
Talk six fifty KSTE in Sacramento or one oh four
nine The Patriot in Saint Louis had to Impact Radio
one oh five nine and twelve fifty whd Z in Tampa, Florida.
(17:19):
Sure hope you can join us live and make us
a part of your morning routine. In the meantime, enjoy
the podcast. You know, every Easter I sit here. You
know what's magical about radio is how close we are,
how intimately closer are I'll give you an example. I
just got an email from Roger, just a very personal
(17:43):
You would think, oh, this is a quick note from
a lifelong friend wishing me a happy Easter, and then
my response him. That's the magic of radio. That's why
I always tell people, have you ever seen me in public?
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Come up?
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Because in this invisible to missy magic of radio, you
know everything about me, and I feel like I know you.
But boy do I cherish the chance to meet. And
so when I sit here on a good Friday, all
I can think about, and obviously would be overwhelming if
(18:18):
every one of you who are listening right now called me.
There's one of me and there's thousands of you. But
I sure wonder is Easter something that happened a long
long time ago in a land far far away. Is
it a then thing or is it a now thing?
(18:39):
And I sure hope it's a now thing. It's just
one of many questions I have every good Friday. First,
I wonder if we overlook the starring role God the
Father plays in the Easter story. After all, it was
the Father who so loved us that he's sent his
only begotten son. It's God the Father who ignited the
(19:00):
resurrection after the sacrifice. He did the sending, he did
the raising, he did all the heavy lifting, so to speak.
And while this is Good Friday and Jesus is rightfully
the focus, make no mistake about it, God the Father
is a star on Christmas and Eastern Morning. And speaking
of Good Friday, it leads to our second question, which
(19:23):
is why do we call the day Christ died on
the cross suffered so greatly Good Friday? I mean, you
think we could find a more somber, reverent holy name
to mark such a date. Imagine if we celebrated the
death of our loved ones this way. Hey mom, it's
good Dad died Day. I mean, let's face it, our
mothers would slap as silly. After all, there's no good
(19:46):
in death in and of itself, or is there.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
I'll get back to that later.
Speaker 1 (19:54):
Back to the first question, do we forget God the
Father's hand in the Eastern miracle and by doing so
missed the real meaning, God the Father's perfect love for us.
Jesus is perfect love and obedience for his father, not
to mention the glorious message of hope for us all today,
you know, to make Easter a now thing, not a
then thing. And maybe it's because we didn't have the
(20:16):
greatest earthly father, or maybe we're blinded because we only
see Jesus as God.
Speaker 2 (20:22):
I mean, he was nothing like us. Death was not
a threat to him.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
He certainly had no fears or reluctance or real choice
in the matter, or did he.
Speaker 6 (20:32):
That.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
Don't get me wrong, I believe in the Trinity. There
are no doubts in my mind that Christ was God.
But while on earth, he was a lot more like
you and me than we give him credit for. He
had a mother Mary, a father Joseph. He had friends,
he had a job, he was a carpenter before he
went into the full time ministry, so to speak. And
I'm sure he had plenty of instinctive hopes and dreams,
certainly opinions, feelings, and most importantly, like us, free will,
(20:58):
meaning Jesus could have stopped short and saved himself at
any time. Even asked once in prayer, if there's any
other way, But there wasn't and he didn't. And I
assure you he was physically very much like you and
I when he was in the form of Man as prophesied,
which is to say, he had no magical shelter from pain.
(21:19):
I believe he felt the sting of every whip, he
felt the prick from every thorn in those crowns. And yes,
he felt the slow drain of exhaustion and suffocation as
the final demands of crucifixion overcame his early body. But
even in suffering, even in the necessary abandonment by his father,
(21:43):
who could not remain in the presence of his son
once sin was upon him, even in death, he was obedient.
Should we assume simply for you and I, Well, here's
a message for good Friday. I believe Christ died for
God because of his perfect love for his father. Disobedience
(22:06):
was never an option, which begs a couple of more questions.
Who is this father that he would ask this of
his son? Or moreover, who is he that his son
would obey to such a depth and such a death. Oh,
we all know what the scripture says. He's the alpha,
(22:27):
the omega, the beginning and the end, the all knowing,
all loving, all merciful. But I believe this request came specifically,
not from power, but from need.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
Need.
Speaker 1 (22:40):
What does an almighty God, an all knowing God surrounded
by worshiping angels, need.
Speaker 3 (22:48):
You and me?
Speaker 1 (22:50):
And perhaps it's our lack of understanding how much our
heavenly Father knows each of us. He still loves each
of us that blinds are understanding, But understanding or not,
it's truth. Christ went to the cross, an innocent, perfect,
obedient lamb. But make no mistake about it. On Sunday
(23:14):
he leaves that tomb a king, and not just any king,
King of kings and Lord of lords, and then ascend
it to the right hand of his father, where he
sits on a throne today. And in his hands he
holds the keys to helen death for all who accept him.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
That's the gospel.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
Now you may say another typical Easter message, and I've
heard it before, but Easter's going to come and go
again this year, and I'll still have no job, no money,
a marriage that's failing, children that are rebelling, friends and
family members who are sick and dying, And I have
a soul still searching and a heart's still empty. Well,
(23:55):
that's why I wanted to share this unique view of
Christ dying for God, because, as the scripture teaches, like Christ,
weak or strong, afraid or not, want to or not,
if we are willing Romans twelve to one, if we
are obedient, we can present ourselves to our Father just
as we are a lamb, and he promises to make
(24:15):
us a king in Christ. See, once you're in Christ,
your soul will stop searching, your heart starts filling jobs, relationships.
This job i'm talking to you in was in Christ.
I made a mess of my life. These are not happenstances.
(24:44):
This is what happens when our free will submits to
His will. And that's what makes makes Easter relevant all
year long. Let alone a now thing versus a e
then thing. If you do the obeying, He's still in
the business of doing the resurrecting. Here's how I used
(25:05):
to tell these a story to my kids, kind of
the Del Giorno amplified translation of the most quoted scripture
in the entire Bible. And I think it summarizes our
Good Friday message. For God so loved and needed you
and me. He sent his only son, who so loved
his father that through perfect obedience died a lamb in
(25:25):
rosa king, that we might all be a complete family again,
beyond any form of adoption, and live happily, eternally ever after.
And as for that good Friday question, why good Friday?
Because today we celebrate the goodness in the obedience of
one which preceded the triumph and victory that will come Sunday.
(25:51):
And it's not a Sunday a long long time ago
in a land far far away, but once and for
all and forever for those who enter by faith as
close as your heart away. And so because of these
truths I can constantly say to you today today is
(26:11):
a very good Friday, a very good Friday, indeed, And
if you share that hope and truth and belief, Sunday
can't help but be a happy Easter. This is your
morning show with Michael del Chrono. Well, I can't make
sense of my A Senator Chris van Holland would go
(26:32):
all the way to down Salvador to try to have
a margarito with apparently a newfound Chiefs fan who's as
thirteen gangbanger. I guess next he's headed to go visit
Luigi Mangioni because he's been indicted on federal charges because
he killed the United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson Brian Shook.
Speaker 8 (26:51):
As more, Mangioni has been accused of shooting and killing
Thompson back in December. On Thursday, a federal jury in
New York returned to four count indictment against him. He's
been officially charged with two counts of stalking, a firearms offense,
and murder with a firearm. The last charge makes him
eligible for the death penalty if convicted. I'm Brian Shook.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Two or dead, six injured in a mass shooting at
Florida State University and the shooter was no stranger to
the Tallahassee area. Law enforcement reached. Shepherd reports.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
The gunman the son of a Leon County Sheriff's Deputy
Sheriff Walt McNeil says Eichner was able to get hold
of one of his mother's weapons, which was found at
the scene.
Speaker 9 (27:30):
So he has been steep in the Leon County Sheriff's office.
Family engaged in a number of training programs that we have,
so it's not a surprise to us that he had
access to weapons.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
The two victims killed in the attack were not FSU students.
Classes and other activities been canceled through the day. Friday
Reach Shepherd Tampa.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
A re sentencing hearing for Eric and Lyle Menendez has
been postponed indefinitely.
Speaker 11 (27:57):
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Jesse scheduled in May
ninth motions hearing when attorneys can talk about admissibility of
a State Parole Board risk Assessment report. Defense attorney Mark
Gerago is expected to file a motion hoping to recuse
the District Attorney's office from the case. No new dates
in the case have been set, with Friday's previously scheduled
hearing on the resentencing proposal now canceled. DA Nathan Hoffman
(28:19):
wants to keep the brothers behind bars for killing their
parents over thirty five years ago in their Beverly Hills mansion.
He says they have not shown any remorse, but Lyle
and Eric Menendez claim their father had been sexually abusing
them at the time and their mother knew about it.
I'm Tammy Trichillo.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
The Supreme Court's going to take up the question of
birthright citizenship.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
Lisa Taylor has more.
Speaker 10 (28:37):
President Trump signed an executive order ending automatic birthright citizenship
as enshrined in the Constitution's fourteenth Amendments. Trump wants to
confer citizenship only on those who have at least one
parent who is a US citizen or permanent resident. Several
lower courts have blocked the effort. In the Highest Court,
we'll hear oral arguments next month.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
I'my S.
Speaker 2 (28:56):
Taylor.
Speaker 1 (28:56):
The Seattle Department of Transportation says it is fixed. So
several crosswalk push buttons that were hacked to play a
message mocking billionaire Jeff Bezos.
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Mark Mayfield has our story.
Speaker 7 (29:08):
The department says Cruz tracked down and repaired hacked crosswalk buttons.
The buttons were hacked to play an apparently AI generated
voice claiming to be the former CEO and founder of
Amazon with an important message. The voice goes on to say,
please don't tax the rich, otherwise all the billionaires will
move to Florida too, adding wouldn't it be terrible if
all the rich people left Seattle or got Luigi and
(29:29):
then the normal people could afford to live here again.
The Luigi comment references murder suspect Luigi MANGIONI.
Speaker 3 (29:36):
I'm Mark Mayfield.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
The far left catch parts.
Speaker 1 (29:41):
Well, as you know, the regular season has already ended
for the NBA. Will the season end for the Memphis
Grizzly time hook doub They paid the MAVs for that
final playoff spot in the play in Tournament. The NHL
has come to a close and so now the playoffs
begin tomorrow, meaning another two months of this season and
Major League Baseball d Backs beat the Marlin six to four,
(30:02):
Tigers one six to one over the Royals. Cardinals lost
four to one of the mets A's eight, Zip blanked
the White Sox, Guardians lost sixty two to the O's
Giants six 'y four, losing to the Phillies, and the
race fell to the Yankees six to three. Birthdays Conan
O'Brien sixty two, actor James Woods seventy eight, and Ventril Theiquist,
I must kill you. Jeff Dunham is sixty three. It
at your birthday, Happy birthday. We're so glad you were
(30:24):
born all right. Final story goes to Rory Tariffs, Steve Portations, wars,
rumors of wars, peace talks in Iran. It all came
up in an Oval Office press conference. By the way,
the President also reaches that one hundred day mark of
his second term as well. That kind of is why
he had such a Pope Maria, I think of topics.
Roy oor'neil, our national correspondent, was watching what the President
(30:47):
was responding and saying and has the highlights for us.
Speaker 12 (30:49):
Good morning, Rory, Yeah, good morning. It's those media availabilities.
I think he had two of them yesterday in the
Oval office, one with the Italian PM that may have
been in a different room, the other though in the
behind the resolute desk. More specifically, I was also paying
attention to the comments he made about the FED chair
Jerome Powell. Now remember that during the first administration, President
(31:11):
Trump appointed Poditive Chairman of the Federal Reserve. But the
two of them do not see eye to eye, the
President being very critical of the chairman, saying he's too
late to the game when it comes to lowering interest rates.
Of course, comments by the Fed chair this week caused
the markets to tumble a little bit, which is a
bit a familiar routine, but essentially saying that the tariffs
(31:32):
will be inflationary and that would likely suggest that they
may not be able to lower interest rates later this year.
Speaker 3 (31:40):
They were planning two rate cuts. Fingers are still crossed there.
Speaker 12 (31:43):
But yeah, so the president is not happy with Jerome
Powell's performance.
Speaker 2 (31:47):
No, and he said that if he wants to fire,
and he will. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
And he compared to the way they've been lowering rates
in Europe for example, and how Powell hasn't kept up here.
But he kind of stayed short of saying, you know,
he's going to get fired. It was almost more of
an art of the deal, a little bit of a nudge,
I thought.
Speaker 12 (32:06):
But that's the if he fires the right and if
he fires them, it's going to cause the markets to
go even greater and more.
Speaker 1 (32:12):
Bonkers, and playing to other leftist narratives that this guy's
out of control and needs to be stopped.
Speaker 3 (32:17):
I'll tell you.
Speaker 1 (32:18):
One thing, whether you're a Trump supporter or not, just
for the sake of, you know, responsibility. I liked that
when the when, the when the reporters were trying to
press him, and of course he had just been made
aware of the Florida State shooting, but they're trying to
press him quickly to make comments about guns. You know
what I really liked. I like the fact that he said,
(32:38):
we just getting worried of this. We don't even know
any of the particulars of this.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (32:42):
And then he did make a comment about how he's
strong Second Amendment and ran on protecting gun rights, but
basically was saying, I don't know anything yet, and I
did not like that about Biden. Biden was the worst,
even more so than Obama and just jumping to ridiculous
conclude usis when you don't have any information yet. But
that popped up in this meeting as well, But probably
(33:05):
not enough talk about the Iranian talks this weekend because
that's really Rory the biggest thing pending well, right.
Speaker 12 (33:12):
And also, you know, we did get some comments from
Secretary of State Rubio about the situation with Russia and
Ukraine as well. You know, they were trying to get some,
as you said, talks in Rome this weekend on the
Iranian issue. But hearing that the Secretary Rubio is saying
that essentially they may be ready to move on unless
(33:33):
there's some progress made and soon when it comes to
some sort of a ceasefire with Russia and Ukraine.
Speaker 3 (33:38):
So that'll be interesting to see.
Speaker 12 (33:40):
And it looks like they have reached a broad consensus
broadly speaking, about a mineral rights deal with the US
and Ukraine as well.
Speaker 3 (33:47):
That's coming together.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
Finally, full circle. The shooting in Florida. It ends up
being a twenty year old. My presumption is he's a
Florida State University student, though that hasn't I don't think
that's been confirmed. Okay, and the son of a deputy sheriff.
But getting to motive, do we know anything? Nothing yet.
Speaker 12 (34:05):
You know, he was shot by the deputies who responded
to the scene on campus yesterday just after lunchtime, and
he's in the hospital as well, but he is said
to be expected to recover from his injuries. He was
a member of the Youth Advisory Council there at the
Sheriff's office, so well known really to other members of
the Leon County Sheriff's office where the shooting happened on campus.
Speaker 3 (34:25):
So pretty remarkable turn. So lots of questions.
Speaker 1 (34:28):
All right, if you think Rory does good work during
the week, you ought to hear the weekend dive that
he hosts. You'll be covering this weekend review. In the
weekend dive. What are we gonna be looking at?
Speaker 12 (34:36):
Oh gosh, yeah, surprise, surprise, more tariff talk and we'll
also talk to the author of one of the co
authors of Fight, which chronicled the last presidential election and
the craziest election in history, they say. Plus the man,
the former president of vannheuser Busch, talks about the whole
blood Light losing its way thing and its marketing scheme.
Speaker 3 (34:58):
Says it all got too woke. It has for years.
Speaker 2 (35:01):
Rory, Good Friday, Happy Easter.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
We'll talk next week.
Speaker 2 (35:03):
We're all in this together. This is your Morning Show
with Michael Vindel Joino
