this one right here, right now. Could you hold on tight?
(00:21):
You never know? Buckle up and hold on tight. We
got it for you here. It is Strawberry Letter. Birthday girl.
Thank you nephew all right? Subject she got him fighting
for her. Dear Stephen Shirley, my coworker and I have
a strong bond. I am what you would call his
work wife. My work husband and my real husband talk often,
(00:43):
and since my work husband is dating a scandalous woman,
my husband has been counseling him a lot. When my
husband and I met the girlfriend, she looked at us
like we were garbage and didn't deserve to be in
her presence. She was overdressed for dinner, and when the
waiter offered us wine, she said that she only drinks
and payne. But the way she broke all those verbs
wasn't classy at all. My work husband can't see it.
(01:06):
Though he's pee whipped and he is talking about marrying
this low budget, scandalous woman. Whenever they are out. He's
had to check several guys for being overly friendly with her.
It made me skeptical, and I was right. She is
the problem. She's a big flirt and likes to make
eye contact with men. It's like she's insatiable and needs
(01:26):
all of the attention from every man in the room,
even my husband. My husband peeped it too and said
that she always does too much around him. This past
Saturday was a telltale sign that she's trouble, but my
work husband is taking her side once again. She works
as a leasing manager at a high rise building and
my work husband popped up at her job. There was
(01:50):
a man in the office yelling at her. When she
saw my work husband, she tried to get the other
man to leave, but he kept done cursing her out.
My work husband right in and almost got into a
fight with the man, but the security guard separated them.
She never told them who this guy is or why
he was so angry. She is very dangerous. Should we
(02:11):
keep trying to help him or should we stay out
of this? Now? I know you know the answer to this.
You got to stay out of this. This is not
your business. How is this your business? Just leave this
one alone. You said it best. He's just whipped right now,
He's just whipped. He's got to work through that on
his own. When he's ready to fight physically fight or
(02:33):
someone like this. His feelings run deep for her. If
this girl is trashed like you say, he wouldn't be
able to see it anyway if you told him so.
Don't risk your friendship over her. Okay, the truth will
come out about her eventually, and when it does, that's
when you, guys, stand by your so called work husband,
because he will need a shoulder on which to vent. Then.
(02:56):
As for you, I just say, you know your business,
stay out of this stuff. Let's you know that's them.
You got a husband of your own to deal with.
And I even would tone down the work husband thing
in front of your own husband. They might be friends
now and he might be cool with it now, but
I just say, leave that stuff at work and leave
(03:17):
you and your husband. Leave this other couple alone, and
stay out of their business. I don't think it's gonna
do you any good, Steve. I don't want to respond
to this with them. I think it's ridiculous. I think
it's a waste of time. Did an adequate job, Shelly,
It's nothing we could do. I don't even care. I
just don't. I'm not even gonna waste my time on
this letter. I'm not gonna break it down and none
of that. I'm not. First of all, this work wife,
(03:39):
work husband thing. What y'all doing now? He counseling the dude?
He liked this woman, She trash, she flirts with all
his men, getting cussed out at the rental office. Your
husband Finn to get in the fight. This is ignorant
right here. Why y'all in it? Why y'all in here?
Grown ass man? He want to marry lady man? He
don't see it? He will, I'm true. What else I
(04:02):
want to talk about? Day we're going on, Junior, Thank
good man, Mississippi. Everything now, I ain't giving a letter
normal damn my whole next break, we can do something else.
I'm not gonna deal with this right here, and cuse
it's track. I'm too old for this. I ain't got
no time for this man a life. I got to
worry about one question, though, Steve, what about the fact
(04:25):
that he wanted to fight for her. He was gonna
jump on this guy that was cursing her out her husband. Okay, look,
I can understand a man being honorable. Uh huh. You know,
you know it was one of my white's friends is
somewhere and I walk in and dude cussing her out.
I'm I'm gonna try to slow it down, you know, not,
you know as long if you if you, if you're
(04:47):
hitting her, then I'm gonna jump in here. I'm gonna
jump on because I'm not gonna sit here and watch
a man be the woman. That's not what I'm gonna do.
But if y'all cussin in arg and then that's my special.
It's cussin So I'm an jump in now. I can
go with you with this custom huh. So we're just
gonna be in here, customer. But we ain't got to fight,
(05:09):
you know, And that's just it. What's the next question
you want? Because I'm not dealing with this letter? Okay,
all right, so you're done with the letter. Yeah, I'm done.
I'm really it really don't make no sense. Everybody listen though, this,
Yeah it is. I got no advice for him ain't
got no advice for you, y'all in that time. My
work wife, work a work husband. Y'all still just leave
it alone. Yeah, you already have a real husband. Ain't
(05:31):
y'all got enough problem? Y'all you're married, y'all, ain't got
enough going on between the two of you to add
what's going on with this fool and this now? For
he ain't even marriage to man? Please, but he really
loves her though, or has strong feelings for this woman.
Though he's going all out for her. That ain't love.
(05:53):
That's you in luck. But if he's if he's fighting
for your husband, hey, work. Like I said, it's okay
for him to try to defend the woman's honor, but
now it's almost getting in the fight with herd That
was about what all they was doing was cussing. If
(06:15):
I walk in and we cussing. Oh, he was yelling
at her and then cussing her out. Remember the day
you try to go without cussing for a day. That
worked for boy? What ten minutes? Yeah? Man, man, man,
I had attention headache? All right, Steve, when we come back,
we have a we have a more call. We have
(06:35):
another call for you, anything, anything, but we are doing
this letter, all right, eight seven seven twenty nine, Steve.
We'll come back at twenty three minutes after the hour,
and uh, we'll take another voicemail for Steve right after this.
You're listening show, all right, Steve, Today's strawberry letter. The
(06:56):
subject is she's got him fighting for her. Let's red
cap and just let the people know you're mad about
this letter. You're upset. I'm not already saying I'm not
doing this letter. I'm not already saying I'm not because
everybody got no time for now. We have done recap.
The man sitting up in the hill. The guy would
have lady that's kind of got like tendency, you know,
(07:18):
goden to tendency. Now he would over and her work
husband and you know, not her man down there all
in fighting over this health and it's getting cussed out
in that's it. But the woman who wrote in wants
to know should she stay out of it because she
and her real husband see things in this woman. They
(07:42):
think she's dangerous and all of that. So she wants
to know should they keep trying to help her work
husband or should they stay out of it. That's the issue.
That's what she wants to that. So now I'm doing
that for the podcast. So I hear you being immature
and crazy today, so put that on the podcast. So Steve,
(08:08):
stop now, don't say that, all right? Do it right?
Come on now, I'm just done it right. I'm telling
you this. I'm just as an ignorant ass letter and
we spend it too much time on this hill. It's
your birthday, Shirley, celebrating your life. Well let me tie
this to your birthday. Then it's what you want. You
want to see mcgil That's what I do for a living.
(08:29):
My coworking. I have a strong bond. That's me and Shirley,
and Sherley is what you call my work wife now,
and I'm Shirley's work husband and my real wife. They
talk often. Since my work husband is dating a scandalous woman. Now,
(08:50):
this is why I gotta get out this damn letter.
Yes me too, I'm not dating a scandalous woman. But
when Shirley first got the job, I thought she would
scanners it. Just she turned out she wasn't because she
tried to keep her job by wearing these afro puffs
in this tight left dress. So so not surely you
(09:12):
had afropus. No one during that time in two thousand
was wearing afropuffs, Steve, And that's what I said. I
never wore afropups, That's what I said. That's why I
didn't know how you thought that was gonna work on me.
You've coming to work with them, no afro puffs stuff. Anyway. Uh,
(09:33):
she's a big flirt and likes to make eye contact
with men. Now, surely don't flirt, but she do make
eye contact, even by accident because them eyes is out
her head by as far as they could be. Surely
always making eye contact. And then my husband peeped in
(09:53):
two and said she always does too much around him.
And so anyway, man, that was a man in the
office yelling at at her one time, and when she
saw my work hub and she tried to get the
other man to lead, but he kept cursing her out,
and my work hub and stepdam almost got into a fight. Yeah,
(10:14):
I mean, and the obvious. Should we stay out of
it or just keep trying to help him? Yes, you
should stay out of it. No, you shouldn't try to
help him. Yeah, the end, all right, I think we
have time if you want to move on. Now, are
you done anything all right? You know what, we have
a call. We have a call. Someone left you a
voicemail from Detroit, mister Patterson. Let's hear it. Hey, Steve,
(10:35):
my name is mister Courtney Patterson. I live in the
city of Detroit. I just wanted to call and say
that I like what you do over the radio when
you're encouraged people, when you come on at six o'clock
in the morning. I listened to you every time. All
I want to say is that your encouragement helps me
through the day. Your encouragement helps me why I'm at
(10:57):
work and I just wanted to ask you to by
to my heart. Please don't stop doing that because you're
doing a great job at it. I wish you was
a preacher and I'll be up frond of you of
the church. Have a blessed day. I love you all.
You are doing a good job. Bye. Well. I want
to say, first of all, to everybody that puts the
full name on a call, I respect you so thank you. Brother.
(11:21):
I'm not gonna stop because it's a promise. I made
it a long time ago when I was homeless and struggling.
I told God if he let me make it that
when I get there, I was gonna tell everybody about it.
And so that's a promise I have to keep. I
have to open it everything. If you watch Family Few
closely on a daily basis, you'll see in there always
(11:41):
sprinkling or something about the God, what He's done for me.
Always this radio show, no exception. Every night before I
started my stand up, I say before I get started,
I like to say that God is everything. Without God,
I wouldn't be nothing, and then I would start my show.
I've always it's been that way because I'm always asked
(12:02):
God to let me make it. Uh. Now, and especially
Detroit special city to me. It was my my favorite
city to perform in. Of all my cities, it's always
been Detroit. Now let me say this about you wishing
I was a preacher. Uh. That probably ain't a real
good idea of Brother pat because I you know, I'm
(12:28):
serving the Lord. I'm an army. I'm a soldier in
the army for Christ. Oh. But I got a different role.
Preachers are in the ministry. You got the nurses, guil
you got the usher boy, you got choir members, you
got you know, people that work in the child in
all types of ways. Those are all roles in the army.
(12:49):
Some people try the church fan transport, some people on
the Nurses Guild. On today's Oberry Letter, you heard it
at Steve Harvey FM on Instagram and Facebook, and check
out the Strawberry Letter podcast on demand coming up at
forty six minutes after the hour, Junior and Sports Talk.
(13:11):
Right after this, you're listening to the Stave Harvey Morning Show.
