Speaker 1 (00:24):
Thank you, nephew. Subject why can't I say that a
man is blessed?

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Why? Okay?

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm sixty three. I'm sixty three and
I've been married for a year. I've known my husband
for about thirty years, and we dated off and on
for many years before deciding to make it official. This
is the first marriage for us both, so we're very
set in our ways. I remembered my husband to be
open minded and fun loving, but he's changed since the wedding.

(00:53):
He knows that I love music and concerts. He has
taken me to at least twenty concerts, and he loves
how I sing all this songs and dance the entire time.
That was the old hymn, And I'm wondering why he
switched up his personality on me. I mentioned that I
wanted to go to a Chris Brown concert after my
nieces went and said, Chris is a total vibe in concert.

(01:16):
My husband said me and my nieces are too old
to go stare at Chris on stage. I thought he
was joking around, and I said that that's exactly why
I want to go to the concert. My husband said,
I must be crazy if I think he's going to
a concert to see a man hunch the stage the
whole time. He had a very serious tone in his voice,

(01:36):
so I rolled my eyes at him and changed the subject.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
Later, I was talking.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
To my sister that just turned sixty, and she said
she'd go to the show with me. I mentioned how
blessed Chris looked in his videos from the concert. I
didn't know my husband was ear hustling until he stomped
in the room and said, I know you all are
not talking about how blessed another man is. My sister
started laughing at him, so I got on off the

(02:02):
phone real quick. Seriously, how can my sixty five year
old husband be threatened by a young superstar? Why has
he changed since our wedding? Okay, really, girls, you need
to sit down. You really need to sit down.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
When you've heard it before.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
People change when they get the papers on you. They
just change, and in your case is not a bad thing.
You are still out here while and your husband does
not want you talking about another man's package. No man
wants that. Okay, of course he'd be mad. It sounds crazy.
It sounds crazy coming out of his wife's mouth. People
don't get married to stay the same. They get married

(02:39):
because they you know, they get him, fall in love
and all of that, and they want to build a
life with another person. Their lives are supposed to you know, blend.
That's what you do in marriage, but outwardly your marriage.
But you're still thinking and acting like you're single in
these streets. You are a wife. Now, this is not
how a wife acts, all right, not in front of

(03:00):
her husband anyway, You don't get it. You have to
be a lot more respectful of him. You have to
be a lot more respectful of your marriage. If not,
why do you get married in the first place. Okay,
your husband obviously he understands the concept of marriage.

Speaker 3 (03:16):
How would you like it if he would go.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
Around saying, oh, she got a fine body, Oh, look
at her, but and all that. You would not like that, Okay,
you wouldn't like it.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
It doesn't mean you can't have fun and all that,
but it does mean you shouldn't be looking at and
commenting on some other man's young or old package.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
So just please have a seat, ma'am.

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Tommy, all right, I've seen this before. You know, it's
a lot of men stars that go through this. You
know the top four that come to my head. You know,
More's Chestnut goes through this. You know, Shamal Moore goes
through this. You understand, Idris Elba and last but not least,

(03:59):
you know, nephew, Tommy, I mean, we all go through this,
you know, we all, we all you know, you know
I talked to the guys a lot. You know, we
all go through this. Man, you know one sup quarter?

Speaker 4 (04:13):
What's the list again?

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Once again, I said, there's a lot of men stars
that go through this. You know More's Chestnut goes through
that's quite a bit. And Shaman Moore, you know, he
goes through it a lot. You know, indriest it just
you know, we keep in touch. He goes through that,
and then and then fourth on the list that goes
through this is nephew Tommy.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
I mean, well.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
We go through this, you know. Uh so speaking on
behalf of being you know, one of the blessed men
that's on stage. You know, you know, I understand you
know how uh you know, ladies, I understand what you're
going through. You want to come out to our shows
and you want to see us, and you're you're looking

(04:59):
at the package, and I get all of that, you know,
but what you need to do is, you know, don't
don't hurt your man's feelings with our package. You understand
what I'm saying. I mean, you know, and I know,
I know it's hard and it's difficult, and I know
when I'm up there performing, I feel you're looking at
me like that. I get it, you know, and and

(05:20):
we're just blest, you know, we're just blast like that,
and it just it's just it just feels good to
be one of the ones that is blessed. You understand
what I'm saying. And that's why Chris takes all these
pictures with these ladies and their husbands lose their damn man,
that's what happened. That's why I had to quit taking pictures.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
You know, so you made this all about you?

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Well, I mean being a being, being a package holder.
You understand what I'm saying. You know, you know this
is I mean, we we all the FedEx. We are
the UPS's of male package. You see what I'm saying.
We we Yeah, yeah, you know I am the Amazon
of that. You understand, right.

Speaker 3 (06:03):
Yeah, make this all about it?

Speaker 2 (06:06):
I mean, I mean, okay, so I don't first of all,
y'all don't respect that I'm that I'm on the list that.

Speaker 3 (06:16):
Yeah, that's why.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
We're the fact that y'all don't y'all don't see me
in that. You know, you know, you know what the
problem with y'all, y'all don't respect that I'm blessed. That's
my problem with y'all. It has always been that y'all
don't respect that I'm blessed.

Speaker 3 (06:31):
Talk all right, all right, let's.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Admit it right here, right now, Just admit it right here,
right now, Tommy, you blessed, and we apologize or not.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
We'll have part two.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
Of the response to today's Strawberry letter coming up at
twenty three minutes after the hour. The subject is why
can't I say that another man is blessed? We'll get
back into it right after this.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
You're listening morning show, all right, We're gonna.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Recap today's Strawberry letter, guys. The subject is why can't
I say that another man blessed? This is a sixty
three year old woman who wrote in she's been married
for a year. Her husband is sixty five. They've been
knowing each other for thirty years, but they just made
it official a year ago. It's the first marriage for
them both, and they're both, she says, very set in

(07:16):
their ways. She loves to go to concerts and sing
all the songs and dance stand up and dance at
all the shows and everything. And her husband loved taking
her to those shows before they got married. Now things
have changed since they've gotten married. You know, she still
wants to do the same thing, go to concerts and

(07:37):
all of that. She wants to go to this Chris
Brown concert. And she and her sister were on the
phone talking and she was telling her sister how Chris
Brown is really blessed. And her husband heard her, and
he got mad, like any husband would do. But he
got mad, and she does esn't understand why he's changed
since they've gotten married, and Why can't she say that

(07:59):
another man is blessed? You know, just because she's married?
Why can't she say that? You know, so she's thinking
that her husband is threatened by Chris Brown, and why
has he changed so much since the wedding? So that
is the situation with this letter. Why can't I say
that another man is blessed?

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Junior?

Speaker 4 (08:18):
What she got?

Speaker 3 (08:19):
She's not acting very much like a wife, you.

Speaker 5 (08:21):
Know, you know what surely you know tom is right.
You know, we just have to take time out. It's
just a different day today on the Strawberry letter. You know,
it's hard for me and Tommy to understand that, you know,
being blessed is not for everybody, you know, I mean.

Speaker 4 (08:38):
It's a few of us. I mean, you know, it's
just a few of us.

Speaker 5 (08:41):
It's eight million people, eight billion people on earth, but
all of us ain't blessed. And me and Tommy just
happened to be in that group. What we're saying is,
you know, you know, her husband clearly ain't blessed because
he's mad.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
You know, that's what it is.

Speaker 5 (08:56):
Yeah, you know, me and tom you know, when you
bless you you're just in a group just blessed.

Speaker 4 (09:00):
Men.

Speaker 5 (09:01):
So you know it is a More's chestnut. It is
Schamal Moore, it is uh IDs Idris, it is tom
But then right behind Tommy didn't here I come.

Speaker 4 (09:15):
I just skipped up to Steve and everybody.

Speaker 5 (09:17):
So okay, you know, but it's hard to even I
see why he mad.

Speaker 4 (09:23):
I understand him.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
Oh okay, but in part because yeah, I mean he's
mad because he's not in this blessed group.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
What you want me? And Tommy tells us that because
his wife.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
You thought, you think Chris Brown, Okay, well you ain't
seen me then, so oh wow, so you know, I mean,
you know, Chris wrote a song about it.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
They just ain't loyal. So it's not my fault. Chris
wrote the song.

Speaker 5 (09:50):
Me and Tommy just happened to be in a different
place than him. He's just not blessed. But hold on,
Me and Tommy can last because you sixty five and mad,
we're not mad, talk about we ain't SE's the fire.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
She's thinking that, you know, he's threatened because Chris is
a young superstar, that's what she.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
Have you seen me and Tommy?

Speaker 3 (10:13):
No, I'm haven't them.

Speaker 5 (10:14):
Okay, did you just set out to Helium club to death.
So that when you're on state and you have a
suit a time mm.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
They was already in there. They knew that he was blessed.
He was blessing.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Gonna stop, Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
Because you can put hating on me and Tom.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
This is it.

Speaker 4 (10:32):
We just bliss We're just in a different group.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
What does this have to do with this letter? Though,
That's what I'm trying.

Speaker 4 (10:37):
Nothing.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
That reason is we don't give a damn body. I
don't care.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
We don't care about him being mad because he ain't blessed.
Clearly he ain't blessed.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
We can't help him.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
He's hating on Chris Brown, yes, yeah he should.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Between she's hating on people like us.

Speaker 5 (10:56):
You see what I'm saying yourself in that category on
that list. First of all, I can't dance like Chris,
but we're just talking about standing steel were blessed.

Speaker 4 (11:05):
Oh I'm cold, I'm cold.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
Standing still. I can't dance like Chris. But if I'm
standing still, y'all had to look at me too.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
So this has nothing to do with the fact that
he could be mad or jealous or just mad that
she's not very wifely.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
People jealous because they ain't blessed. That's that's not our issue.
We can't help you with that. It's not us.

Speaker 3 (11:29):
And you guys just made this whole letter.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
But why don't you surely, why don't you in calle
just be glad? Y'all work with two blessed people, right, and.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
They don't want to say that they're that No, no,
no, no no.

Speaker 3 (11:40):
Have you seen that guy at the Olympics, the swimmer.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
Yes, yes, yes.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
If we put on media, if we put on swimming clothes,
we'll be all over the play that.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
We go viral.

Speaker 5 (11:56):
We would go viral if me and Tommy put on
the same women.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Trunks they have.

Speaker 5 (12:02):
Because we're blessed, so we don't know how to actually
feel for this husband. All we know is that she
wanted to Chris Brown, and then y'all chose Chris Brown.

Speaker 4 (12:10):
But we are gonna let Chris Brown. I'll do us.
We're blessed too.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
So you feel who's pain in this letter?

Speaker 5 (12:18):
Nobody's by less thing. Call it in the words of
call of fair less dance.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
Then this is all about you, guys.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Enjoy Chris Brown. Girl going out there and enjoy that show.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
First of all, as a wife, you know you can say,
why can't I say another man's blessed? You may not
be able to say it, but you did, and me
and Tommy receive it.

Speaker 4 (12:44):
We blessed. We know we're just different, all right, all right?
What makes you act like you say it?

Speaker 5 (12:53):
It's me and Tommy you talking to Okay, how do
you think I need it?
