Speaker 5 (01:31):
I can't.

Speaker 6 (01:41):
To turn the mout turn.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
You probably got to turn mouth turn out turn the
word of the mono.

Speaker 7 (01:55):
Come come on your.

Speaker 8 (02:01):
Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody. You're listening
to the voice, Come on dig me now, want it on?
Receive Harvey's got a radio show.

Speaker 9 (02:12):
Five things that I know successful people have to do
to be successful. The principles are the same. You can
apply it to anything, you know, if you want to
be happily married, you know, whatever it is. The principles
of success are the same. There are a series of
things that you have to do. You cannot skip the
steps of success. If you do, you're going to have

(02:34):
to go back and step on them anyway. So here's
here's here's a part man that I want you all
to understand about me and and and and about how
to look at it. You know, you you cannot underestimate

(02:54):
faith and prayer. You just can't. You cannot underestimate the
power of faith and the power of prayer.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
See for me.

Speaker 9 (03:09):
This is just for me. Now, this ain't in the
scripture nowhere. This is just something I discovered. What prayer
did for me was was it tied me to my creator.
It gave me a sense and I'm describing it this way,
but I'm telling you it's deeper than this. But it
gave me a sense that I wasn't alone, and at

(03:33):
actuality I wasn't. But prayer helped connect me to the
power source that was available to me to get through,
get around, or get over whatever it was that was
in the way, whether it was just a period I stretched,

(03:54):
I had to go through hard work.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
It had to period I had to go through to learn.

Speaker 9 (03:59):
Some lessons, some periods I had to go through from
having to pay for some of the mistakes I've made.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Whatever the case may be, prayer gave me a.

Speaker 9 (04:11):
Decided advantage, especially oh here we go, Especially over my enemies. Now,
the majority of people in my life that were my enemies.
I didn't want them to be my enemies, make no
mistake about this. But through the thing called life, some

(04:32):
things went down. Some things happened from here and then
went over here, over that way, and a person became
my enemy. The majority of enemies I have came out
of nowhere. I have no reason to even see why
they are my enemies. But you know, life goes on, man.
It happens from time to time. Some people just won't

(04:53):
let it go. See some people, in their quest to
do something to you or to make you pay, they
just won't let it go. But it may cause you
some discomforting and some of it may be lies about
you and all of this and all of that, but
that that can't prohibit you from going forward. So what

(05:14):
I'm saying is prayer gave me the strength of wisdom
understanding their carriage to either go through it, go around it,
or go over it. But it happened. I do not
know how I could have made it without faith and
without prayer.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
It would have.

Speaker 9 (05:36):
Something would have got me. YouTube would have got me.
The bloggers would have got me. My partners that I
grew up with, that used to laugh behind my back.
They would have got me. My friend that went over
my mother's house one time and told her, you know

(05:57):
what Steve's problem is that telling them jokes. He just lazy,
he don't want to work. That would have got me.
They didn't know. I ain't really mad at them because
they were just All they was doing was based in
their conversations and passing judgment based on what they knew,
based on what they believed.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
They didn't believe I was gonna make it. But that's them, though.

Speaker 9 (06:25):
If it was not for the faith, which is the
belief in things that you cannot see, I wouldn't have
made it because I would have listened to everybody else
who didn't see me getting here and went along with it.
And then prayer. Oh my goodness, man, how many times
has prayer bailed me out? Prayer has bailed me out,

(06:48):
press still bailing me out. Tell you the truth, man,
quiet as it's kept prayer, that connection to your heavenly Father,
that connection to your creator, that connection to that source
of power and inspiration, that connection of never feeling that
you were alone. You know, I was watching the Bishop

(07:10):
Jakes on TV yesterday and it was a repeat, and
one of the things he was talking about, well, let
me just get to the gist of it. I was
going through a portion of my life and I went
through it for some years, y'all. I had gotten myself
into a jam that lasted for years I'm telling you

(07:36):
for years, with some serious consequences to follow.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
For years, and I was so busy looking at where
I was at.

Speaker 9 (07:51):
I was sulking sometimes, Man, I'd get on the radio, Man,
I'd be just done.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
I was sulking.

Speaker 9 (07:58):
My my spirit had gotten low. I had gotten tired
of the fight. And I would come on some mornings, man,
and I would try try not to let on, but
I was hurting. I was because I had been in
it for years. Man, I had been in this thing
for years. And one thing I was doing. I was

(08:19):
so busy looking at where I was at. And when
I was watching Bishop Jakes he preached his sermon. He
was talking about so busy looking at where you at
that you don't even realize that God has been with

(08:42):
you the entire time. And you know what, Man, just yesterday,
just yesterday, I heard this and I text him. I
text Bishop Jakes, and I thanked him because it was
an old message I could tell. And I called a
text him up and I said, Man, thank you so much.
I was just watching you on TV and you told me, Man,

(09:05):
something that I that I'll always remember that whatever you're
going through, that He's there with you the whole time.
But see when sometimes when you're so busy looking at
where you at, you don't even notice where he is.
And see sometimes, man, that that helped me, and that's
going to help me in the future to realize that
what I'm going through, that he's there.

Speaker 1 (09:27):
He's there with me, and he.

Speaker 9 (09:28):
Gonna protect me, and he ain't gonna let my enemies
overcome me, and he ain't gonna let nobody overtake me,
and he ain't gonna let me go on there because
he's there. It's just you can't be so busy looking
at where you at that you don't take notice of
where he at. God is always there, He's always available,
And the best way to tap into that and know
it is you got to pray. Prayer has changed my life.

(09:51):
Prayer can change your life. You can become something if
you just pray.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
You're listening.

Speaker 9 (09:59):
Show, ladies and gentlemen, the time has come. It's time
for us to realize that He did it again. Another
great day, another beautiful day, another opportunity. It could be cloudy,
it could be raining, it could be sunny, it could
be bright, it could be overcast, it could be a
little chill. This morning, it could be a little bit
hot for your comfort. Whatever it is you hear, man,

(10:23):
you here? Ain't that a blessing to be here?

Speaker 1 (10:26):
Man?

Speaker 9 (10:27):
Take take a layer of clothing off, put a jacket on,
do whatever you got to do, but celebrate the fact.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
That you're here.

Speaker 9 (10:34):
Man, if your feet didn't hit the ground already, you
got time to say thank you for that.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
It's all good. Man.

Speaker 9 (10:40):
Show some gratitude to an almighty God that just keeps
on showing up, just like he said he would. And
I'm grateful for that. This is the Steve Harby Morning Show,
Shirley Strawberry calling for real Mississippi Monica Junior and the
legend of nephew Tommy Junior.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
Yes, sir, what it is?

Speaker 10 (11:00):
Yea un?

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Let me ask you this. Have we thought about this yet?
Have we thought about this as a culture in the community.

Speaker 5 (11:05):
Have we thought about what we're gonna do to people
that that vote for Trump?

Speaker 1 (11:09):
Have we how we gonna put them out our life?
Have we thought about that?

Speaker 10 (11:13):
Now?

Speaker 5 (11:14):
We need to come up with a plan, Like we
said about this, because they out there, we know them.

Speaker 9 (11:20):
Close, that have gone public. I pretty much I had
nothing to do with them. And like Amber Rose, I
never really you know, ok that heavenly depending on what
she thought or see or ever. And then that little
rapper boy with them tattoos on his face, that's first

(11:41):
time I heard him. So, but he don't need me
to be famous. A little lucky of whatever his name is,
Lucky pot look.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
Some of the names as a rapper stage. He out
here with a mega hat on.

Speaker 9 (11:58):
You're a black person with omega had I think you
don't You don't even know how stupid that looks.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
So I really had nothing to do with him.

Speaker 9 (12:05):
But uh, I think, uh, we are to form a squad.
You know, me and Tommy a long time ago, had
uh had created a group called ride down there dot com.
You knows where he was taking, Like if you wanted
for fifteen hundred, we could do certain things to certain people.

(12:27):
But I think, uh, we can put together a squad,
you know, get.

Speaker 5 (12:31):
A squad together with that basically, so we a belt though, yeah, yeah,
oh that's gonna be left.

Speaker 1 (12:41):
Yeah about the old school, old school like you and.

Speaker 9 (12:47):
Yeah, just a whipping to roll up on them and
just pull the belt out your belt loops and rolling
around here, just whip them.

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Yeah, you ain't got to beat them real bad and nothing.

Speaker 9 (12:58):
They ain't gotta leave no marks and nothing, cause we
don't them in trouble, but just a public equipping.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
Well, she told you not to touch nothing.

Speaker 9 (13:08):
You knock them pickles down off of that shell because
you were standing up trying to get some ketchup and
you're not.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
Boy, I did that one time. God, she'd.

Speaker 10 (13:22):
Not good.

Speaker 3 (13:23):
Not good.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Now I got to pay for these pickles. We ain't
got no money for these pickles. These pickles ain't even
on the list. Now we're paying for stuff we can't
even take.

Speaker 9 (13:31):
Oh okay, okay, coming off.

Speaker 1 (13:35):

Speaker 5 (13:57):
I know this is uh, you know, we we were
talking about voting most of the time because it's that time.
But you know, we have to sprinkle stupid in here somewhere,
and then that's the way it comes to me. And uh,
it just looks like I'm stupid all the time. But
I guess that's who.

Speaker 12 (14:15):

so that that's why I would start.

Speaker 1 (22:27):
But now you know, you.

give a child a right to think and give him choices.
That's how y'all raise y'all rabbit ass kids raise him
like that.

Speaker 1 (22:40):
We're not doing that.

Speaker 11 (23:25):
Chill, But will I look like a hater if I
talk to them A.

Speaker 9 (23:29):
Well, that's not making you a hater. You just want
to Maybe you should just do it in the form of, like,
hey man, just want to pull your coat? Uh, some
of the things you all are saying in front of
the Famili's got them a little bit upset.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
You might want to pull up a little.

Speaker 9 (23:44):
Bit because a lot of people are not as fortunate
as you and feel like they'll be having it rubbed

if we could make one. He said, he doesn't think
of me in that way because I'm not that freaky.

Speaker 6 (25:01):
Is that good or bad?

Speaker 9 (25:03):
Well, he just told you what he likes. What you
aint He watched explicit videos. You asked him, could y'all
make one? He say, he don't look at you that
way because you're not that freaky. You're not you know,
and you're gonna get some question you're not gonna believe.
I think you need to leave this one. I'll just
let him watch the movies, because you're gonna be up
in a movie doing something you ain't know you was

(25:25):
really I don't think you really cut out for the
point of movie fiousness.

Speaker 1 (25:31):
Doing something.

Speaker 9 (25:32):
Go ahead, I'm gonna tell you right now, don't do that.
That film gonna get out it's gonna get out.

Speaker 1 (25:44):
If somehow Hello, what you mean?

Speaker 2 (25:48):
How is her husband gonna put it out? That's what
I mean? Yeah, So how will he get out if
it's in their bedroom?

Speaker 6 (26:00):
Wouldn't put that out?

Speaker 1 (26:03):
How did the Kim Kardashi take it out? Her mama
was the manager. Indeed, God, shot tell you right now.

Speaker 9 (26:13):
It's a it's a man sitting in jail right now
that his whole house was video allegedly, and people are
scared to day on the fil how they get out?
And how see you can't take that chance?

Speaker 6 (26:29):
Yeah, I agree with you there, you're right all right?

Speaker 11 (26:32):
I see, Okay, Well, husband didn't want her to do
it anyway, so.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
Oh, invite it over there?

Speaker 3 (26:40):
God, why what are.

Speaker 6 (26:44):
You talking about?

Speaker 1 (26:45):
You're talking about the other case some parties. I'm glad
I missed, God boy, boy boy, God lad I ain't
on the guess listen, m all right.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
Last one.

Speaker 11 (27:05):
This is from Chaney and Cape Canaveral Shane writes, my
girlfriend sent me a photo of my boyfriend in another
girl's face. He laughed in my face and asked if
it's a crime to talk to other women. I didn't
know how to answer him, because.

Speaker 6 (27:21):
It was just a picture? Did he say that to
throw me off?

Speaker 9 (27:25):
No, your girlfriend has sent a picture of him talking
to another girl.

Speaker 6 (27:31):
What in another girl's face is how she put it?

Speaker 1 (27:34):
What do that mean?

Speaker 9 (27:36):
In another girl's face mean you was up on somebody talking.
They wasn't kissing, they didn't have a clothes off. They
was over there talking. He laughed and said it's a
he can't talk to nobody.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
But the real.

Speaker 9 (27:48):
Thing is you need to check your girlfriend. What's her
motivation here? He all he talking to her?

Speaker 1 (27:55):
So what? So what?

Speaker 9 (27:57):
Sometimes you can bring stuff in your life to do.
Don't exist. Somebody was talking to the lady. You ain't
found no text, You ain't seen no pictures of him.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
You ain't.

Speaker 9 (28:07):
You ain't seen no post on Facebook. She sent a
picture of him. He in public somewhere. Obviously, Why is.

Speaker 1 (28:13):
The girlfriend in this mess?

Speaker 6 (28:16):
She shouldn't be.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
Sorry, messed, But I'm just saying maybe that's what it was.
Why did be taking a pictures of something?

Speaker 5 (28:21):
Now you need to take a picure of a man.

Speaker 9 (28:25):
But a lot of time it's angle though, because you
can make a person like if you take a picture
at an angle, he can look like they kiss it.

Speaker 6 (28:32):
You know, yeah, really.

Speaker 9 (28:35):
It's yeah, yeah, it's an angle like that over the
shoulder angle.

Speaker 1 (28:41):
Yeah. They look real close. They could be three feet apart. Yeah.

Speaker 9 (28:45):
I think the dude is innocent. I think your girlfriend
shouldn't have sent you the picture. But no, he ain't
throw you off, even to throw you off from what what.
You ain't got no evidence, your nothing says your man
is cheating. Why why you're bringing putting this in your life?
Showing up but no evident. You need some new friend
that ain't gonna do nothing to me that ain't gonna do.

Speaker 11 (29:08):
All right, coming up at the top of the hour,
we'll talk to south former South Carolina representative and political
analyst Bakari Sellers.

Speaker 6 (29:18):
Right after this.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
You're listening Morning Show, all right.

Speaker 9 (29:25):
Everybody else, promise we got special guests this morning. Our
special guest is a noted politician. He's an attorney, he's
a political correspondent, and he's been on the show many
times before. One of my favorite people, absolutely, but he's
also been on the front line and this year's election,
and he's joining this morning to break down VP Kamala

(29:46):
Harrison's opportunity agenda for black men. And we're excited to
have him back with us today. So let's go on
to get to it. Please, welcome to the show, my friend,
our brother, mister Bacari sellers.

Speaker 10 (29:56):
Well, sir, I'm glad had to be here. Good morning, happy,
happy to be on with y'all.

Speaker 1 (30:02):
What's happening man, it's good. Hey man.

Speaker 9 (30:05):
Let me start with this tweet that you sent out Winstead.

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Let me just start here.

Speaker 9 (30:10):
Your tweet said, y'all out here, critique and Kamala like
your guy didn't just stand on stage and sway to
elevateor music for thirty minutes.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
That park right there, we saw it.

Speaker 12 (30:25):
We got a I gotta stop tweeting on cop of migos,
That's what I got to say. But it goes to
this this standard that is just it's wild to me,
because you know, they asked him about climate change at
the Univision town hall and he went on a rambling answer,
and no matter where he is, he's incoherent.

Speaker 10 (30:47):
He doesn't make sense.

Speaker 12 (30:49):
He he was.

Speaker 10 (30:50):
Swaying for thirty minutes.

Speaker 12 (30:51):
They say this because he had a medical emergency. Well yeah,
he had two of them and they were over and
this man simply said, I don't want to take any
more questions, play some ave Maria and he did I
mean if if Kamala Harris did anything like that. And
what I tell people all the time is black folks,
particularly black women, she's running the one ten hurdles in

(31:12):
high hills and then have to complete a summer thought
at the end.

Speaker 6 (31:16):
Yes, yes, yes, I love that. Yeah, I love it.

Speaker 10 (31:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 12 (31:21):
And so you know, we just gotta we gotta pray
for And it's crazy because on November fifth, the election
won't probably be decided.

Speaker 10 (31:27):
In fact, I'm sure it won't be decided on the fifth,
but we're gonna be anxious and.

Speaker 12 (31:31):
We're going to be you know, this woman has been
so qualified for every position, and I mean, look, I
got to I can't just critique folks on that side.
I mean, lord Jamar, who we you know, have some
affection for as a rapper, talking about she's not qualified
to run a dunkin donuts and this you know when
black men taught like that as well.

Speaker 10 (31:49):
You got this woman who.

Speaker 12 (31:50):
Was who was a DA a lawyer, an attorney general,
the United States senator, vice president? What what what conversations
are we actually having? That's that just frustrated the man.

Speaker 9 (32:01):
Yeah, let me ask you something, because now we're Finnah,
give this some I'm curious about what's your thoughts when
you see blacks for Trump. I'm so curious as to
what they're, why they're for him, What is it that
you think it is? And I don't think it's this

(32:21):
horrifically huge number that they're trying to make it out
to be. I don't think you're not walking around saying no,
Trump Junior, you're a hero and all is here.

Speaker 1 (32:29):
What's your take on that?

Speaker 10 (32:31):
So? I think they're two.

Speaker 12 (32:31):
There are two lanes, and the first lane are people
that we just need to, you know, kind of discount,
and those are the ones who.

Speaker 10 (32:40):
Like shiny things.

Speaker 12 (32:41):
Those are the ones who like what he says and
want to be different and think that somehow. I get
this all the time being a lawyer. I come in
and quote somebody to feet and they're like, oh my god,
you know a white boy caut on the feet and
they say that's perfect, Like it's their ice is coder
than our type idea.

Speaker 10 (33:01):
And that's just one category outset aside.

Speaker 12 (33:04):
Then there's another category that we have to pay attention
to that Kamala Harrison is paying attention to and that's
a group of disenchanted, particularly black men and Hispanic man
and I meet them all the time. We all know
them who just simply feel like nothing's going to change.
Government hasn't worked.

Speaker 10 (33:19):
For them, no one's message to them.

Speaker 12 (33:22):
Everybody else in this country gets help, but nobody completely
understands or empathizes what it means to be a black
man in this country or a Hispanic man in this country.
And it feels like the world is just beating us up.
And y'all want us to go out here and vote again.
And you know, you told us that things are going
to change under Barack Obama, and I don't necessarily feel it.

(33:42):
I may disagree with it, but I can't disagree with
how they feel or Joe Biden. And now you're saying
the same thing about Kamala Harris. And so that's why
you have to listen, and then you have to approach
the problem differently, which is what she's doing well.

Speaker 9 (33:55):
And that leads us to this part right here, because
she came up with this opportunity agenda for black men,
and she wanted to lay out some critical policies you
know that was designed to uplift and empower black men
across the country. From your side of it, what are
some of the key points to her a new agenda.

Speaker 12 (34:14):
So the first thing I wanted to do, and when
I was talking to them and we were talking about
doing this, is simply say, look, this isn't going to
just be a criminal justice agenda, because you know, a
lot of my white progressive friends and a lot of
my conservative friends, all they want to do when they
talk to black men is about how to stay out
of jail and keep your friends out of jail.

Speaker 10 (34:32):
That's the only conversation they had with black men. And
I said, let's make sure it's holistic.

Speaker 12 (34:38):
And so Kamala Harris took this approach where she's talking
about small business grants up to twenty thousand dollars. And
the way I think about it, in the way she
thinks about it is that's you know, helping you get
a start in a barbershop.

Speaker 10 (34:51):
That's helping you get a box.

Speaker 12 (34:52):
Truck, that's helping you get back on your feet with
your entrepreneurial spirit. And so a lot of people look
at that, a lot of people look at the legalization
of marijuana. But the two key points that I focus on,
Steve which I found to be something that warm my
heart was the Health Equitage and where she talks about
a sickle celle registry, where she talks about actually making
sure that the Affordable Care Act covers for free and

(35:15):
we lower the age for colorecto and prostate exams. I
mean looking at black men's health because we all know
somebody who just fell out and died at thirty five
and forty and forty five years old and we don't
know why. And the second piece that just jumps off
the page to me is putting more black men in
the classroom.

Speaker 10 (35:33):
Because when you go out and talk to young boys
as you do, Steve probably and we need to give
your flowers while you're living. You talk to young black men.

Speaker 12 (35:41):
More than any other person I know, and it means
so much to them and so much to the community.
And when you talk to them, one of the first
things they'll tell you is they don't have people in
the classroom that identifies with them.

Speaker 9 (35:54):
Now that right there is a fact. Hey, we stay
with us. Bokari right back, everybody. We got more of
a Bacari sellers right after this morning show. Hi everybody,
We're back and our special guest this morning is one
of the men that's been on.

Speaker 1 (36:11):
The front line for this year's election, and he's.

Speaker 9 (36:14):
Been a he's a noted politician, he's an attorney, political correspondent.
He's our guest this morning. Bacari Sellers is our guest.
So we're talking about the agenda that VP Kamala Harris
had released on Monday, and we're talking about some of
the highlighted things. And before we left, Bacar, you said

(36:34):
something that was really interesting that I thought couldn't really
be addressed this way, because you know, I hear people
always talking about, you know what, what's the black agenda?
And I've been trying to tell my listeners, you know,
you can't just run out here and have one platform
just for black people, because you got to get everybody's vote.

(36:55):
But she actually came out and verbalized an agenda to
address black and Hispanic men. And that's what we're on
the phone talking about. So for everybody who when they're
gonna do something for us, and I do understand the frustration.
So we're talking about some of the key points, and
one of the things you said you were excited about, Bacard,

(37:16):
was the launch of the National Health equity initiative for
black Men'll go back over that again because that's really
a huge one.

Speaker 10 (37:23):
Yeah, I mean we all know that, you know, kind
of culturally, for example, black men, we work hard.

Speaker 12 (37:30):
We're usually the last ones to go to the doctor.
We get a sniffle, a little chest pain. You know,
you take some robotesting. Some times it's just a gas, right,
that's what we say. Uh, you know, your head hurting
and spinning, and you just or you don't go get
the preventative exams that.

Speaker 10 (37:47):
You need because you don't worry. You worry about it
crippling your family with the costs.

Speaker 12 (37:52):
And Kama Hereson is like, let's have a conversation about that.
Let's have a conversation about why black men are dying.
It's such high rates a young agent.

Speaker 10 (38:00):
And let's make it affordable for them to get to
present a care they need. I mean, let's talk about.

Speaker 12 (38:04):
Lowering to age for these exams, because we know that
cancer are particularly prospect cancer and co directed cancer is
affecting us at.

Speaker 10 (38:12):
A younger ages.

Speaker 12 (38:13):
And let's bring people in to have these conversations so
we can go get our physicals and do the things necessary.
And so I just think that that's profound that black
women who always take care of us, you know the jokes,
Black women go through everything, and when black men get
a cold, we just that's we out. We're done for
a week. But Kamala Harris is the one who's simply

(38:35):
talking about making sure that we have equitable treatment for
black men and their healthcare and looking at them holistically.
I just think it's powerful. Kamala Harris is talking about
making sure that black men, black boys can go to college,
get their college paid for, get in the classroom, peach.
Those things are things that matter in shape communities. She's

(38:56):
often talking about mentorship programs, are apprenticeship programs.

Speaker 10 (38:59):
Et cetera.

Speaker 12 (39:00):
But it's a holistic approach to the experience. And I
think it's a win for black men because listen, even
if you're a Republican black guy, listener, We've been asking
for a party to listen to us for a long time,
and finally a candidate, for the first time in American history,
has to put out an agenda that simply caters to
our needs.

Speaker 9 (39:17):
Hey, pricar hold that thought right there. We'll be right back, Hey, folks,
We're going to take a short break when we come back.
We'll have more with Bacari Sellers right after this.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
You're listening morning shows.

Speaker 9 (39:29):
All right, everybody, We're back in our special guest this
morning is Bakari Sellers. There's a couple of the points
in this A part that I was hearing about about
lowering the rent and providing down payment assistance.

Speaker 1 (39:41):
Yeah for first time black homeowners.

Speaker 10 (39:43):
Yeah for sure. So, I mean it's part of our
housing agenda.

Speaker 12 (39:46):
And this is is kind of twofold. The first part
is that she says that one of the you when
you go to the bank and you want to get
a loan for a house in the first first time
home buyer, one of the things you run into is
the fact that you got to have cash when you
buy out. I mean, you just can't go out there
and buy no house on.

Speaker 10 (40:04):
Your good looks. You know, you can't. You can't bring
no can goods to the bank. You got to have
some cash for a down payment. And so there is
a twenty five thousand dollars credit that you can receive
for down payments. That's what she put in our housing class,
but in particular for black men. One of the things
that Kamala Harris is going to do is you're.

Speaker 12 (40:22):
Building three million new homes. So there's a component going
into her agenda for African American men where you're going
to make sure that the people building these homes, You're
going to make sure that not only the builders and
the developers, for those individuals building US homes, they look
like me and you stee, the people who are out
there we're putting the work we're spending this money on,

(40:44):
but particularly these folks, the first time home home buyers,
which oftentimes are younger and skew, blacker and browner. The
people who will build them as well actually look like us.
I mean, it's important. It's it's a way that you
can look at policy with some level of an election death.

Speaker 9 (41:01):
You know, man, I'm really happy to have you on
today to kind of clarify this message because I think
it's something that's been kind of sticking in our.

Speaker 1 (41:09):
Side a little bit when we hear.

Speaker 9 (41:12):
That we're not getting the proper amount of support from
black men. But I think this is my opinion on
election day as is that's occurring in this record number
of early voting that they're already doing. I think that
the people do they never poll is us and I
think that we are the ones who can make We

(41:35):
are the deciding factor in this election purely find wait,
this is it. That was an election against Biden against Trump,
and it came down to Georgia and for the first time,
we turned Georgia blue.

Speaker 1 (41:49):
And they and they waited.

Speaker 9 (41:51):
They was in full and Cobb County and all of that,
and we know what that is in Atlanta, and that
was the decider. And I just think, man, that if
we show up in the numbers that we have the
potential to show up in, if we just get to
the polls, I think we will have a new president
of the United States and her name will be President

(42:13):
Kamala Harris.

Speaker 12 (42:15):
I mean, you're right, but actually, I mean I think
it's a little bigger than that. If we show up,
I mean, particularly black men, I mean, this race is
in our hands, right and the question is what do
you want this country to be, not just for you,
but your children and you know, the parents that you're
taking care of. I mean, I'm forty years old, so
I'm at the age nowhere I'm like watching my parents

(42:35):
get old, trying to take care of them. I am
raising five and a half year old twins and I
got a nineteen year old at Howard that's majored in
U Street. I hope she's going to class, but right
now she just seems to be. Anyway, that's a whole
nother conversation.

Speaker 10 (42:49):
But I.

Speaker 12 (42:52):
Want the country to be better for them. I want
to turn the page on that hate and that racism
and that bigotry. And you know, one hundred thousand dollars
watches or gold shoes or bibles thinking that's gonna that's
gonna get me. And what it takes is listen, I
want to have to sign us with you. Black men
got to come out of Wisconsin, Detroit, got to come
out in Philadelphia, Atlanta. You know, the white college educated

(43:15):
women that listen to your show got to come out.

Speaker 10 (43:17):
They don't have to vote like their husbands.

Speaker 12 (43:19):
They got to come outside and vote. I mean, it's
going to take a collaborative.

Speaker 10 (43:23):
Effort, but if we do this and do it resoundingly,
we can finally turn.

Speaker 12 (43:26):
The page on the last eight years, which is which
look like January sixth with Confederate flags running through the
state cap I mean the United States cap.

Speaker 9 (43:33):
So right, So right, hey, bro, I want you to
come back on the show before lectured and keep us enlightened. Man,
So thank you for joining us this morning. I appreciate
you explaining the agenda and folks, we got to get
out and vote, ladies and gentlemen. That was our guest
this morning, mister Bicai sell Us.

Speaker 1 (43:50):
Thank you, Bate.

Speaker 12 (43:51):
All right, man, I'll be sacking travel bak So.

Speaker 9 (43:54):
You know, I enjoyed having him on man because I
like the way he broke down the opportunity to agenda
for black men, and she turned around and actually came
up with one. She actually laid out something directly at them, and.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
That's pretty powerful.

Speaker 10 (44:11):
Man.

Speaker 9 (44:12):
That's taking a step I've never seen. I've never heard
anybody say that.

Speaker 6 (44:16):
Thanks again to Bakari Sellers.

Speaker 11 (44:18):
We'll be back with more of the Steve Harvey Morning
Show right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show
coming up at about four minutes after the hour. It's
my Strawberry letter for today, and the subject is I
heard him because he scared me. Okay, we'll get into
that and find out what that's all about in just
a few because right now it is time for the

(44:40):
Nephew and Today's Frank Phone Call.

Speaker 6 (44:43):
What you got next?

Speaker 5 (44:44):
Listen right here, Shirley. You know, sometimes there's some gentlemen
out there that's just not They just don't have what
they need. So your wife is called and let me
know what he needs.

Speaker 1 (44:54):

exactly what she's needing, and we're gonna try to get
you some help so you can I can help you
get to a better size. Let's see if I can say, yeah, yeah,
you're not King Kong. You're more like bubbles. You know

(45:21):
what I'm saying. That's you're right in now.

Speaker 9 (45:22):
You're not who you thank y'all strong, strong as hell
though if being bubbles might be plenty real, they.

Speaker 1 (45:32):
Gonna lie to you. You look lit.

Speaker 9 (45:34):
One of them chimps. Grab your ass, your hands is full.
Let me tell you right now, you're gonna you're not
gonna be thinking monkey no more.

Speaker 1 (45:41):
If that chimp grab your ass, let me.

Speaker 9 (45:47):
Yeah, that's that's that's where the chimp is right here.
That ain't no, That ain't no damn gorilla. That's a chimp.

Speaker 1 (45:52):
That's a go bigger, go home. Let's go catch up.

Speaker 10 (46:00):

Speaker 10 (46:35):
Okay, have you have you decided on getting or anything
or have you purchased anything yet?

Speaker 9 (46:40):

Speaker 13 (46:40):
No, I got a couple of days in mind.

Speaker 10 (46:43):
Well actually, uh, we got a call from uh from
I think we've got something that's gonna that's gonna really
help you guys. And and something I think that she
wanted to recommend that something that you probably wouldn't wouldn't
think about getting. I'm okay, wrecking my brain is actually

(47:04):
gave us a call. She's actually had an idea, you know,
what she would really really like for her birthday present?
So what's the name of bigger and better. Like I said,
I follow she called you.

Speaker 13 (47:16):
I'm sorry, she called you to get me idea on
what I should get her for her birthday.

Speaker 10 (47:22):
Yeah, well this is this is something that's a little
a little different, and it's something that you probably would
never in a million years think of. But here it
bigger and better, where we make you large and in charge.
We actually do some things that we definitely know you
wouldn't have thought of. So I definitely understand her.

Speaker 13 (47:39):
Giving all what's what's your name against? Sam Scott? Scott

read this one right here, right now, and you never know,
it could be yours.

Speaker 1 (54:07):
It could be yours. Buckle up and hold on time.
We got it for you. Here It is strawberry letter.

Speaker 11 (54:12):
Thank you a few subjects. I heard him because he
scared me. Dear Stephen Shirley, my husband and I had
two kids before we graduated from high school. We did
what everyone said we could not do. We got married,
we raised our children, and we're still in love. We
are reclaiming our youth, and our children are sick of

(54:33):
us because we have run into them at nightclubs, bars
and the strip club once. We both just turned fifty
and we both work from home, so we have a
ball together. Weed is legal in our state, so we
just started smoking weed and doing edibles because we have
very stressful jobs. I love drinking wine, but my husband

(54:54):
doesn't care for alcohol. Last Saturday, I got a box
of wine and I had about four glos. My husband
had half a glass. His friend brought over a bag
of gummy bear edibles, and my husband.

Speaker 6 (55:06):
Ate a few, but I had a lot more.

Speaker 11 (55:09):
I started feeling the gumbies, so I went to lie down.
It got dark and the bed was feeling good and
the house was quiet. I figured my husband left to
hang out with his friend. Around nine pm, I heard
a noise in the other bedroom and jumped up. I
couldn't see anything because it was pitch black in the house.

(55:29):
The room was spinning from the wine and I from
the wine I had, and the edible was still in
my system. I grabbed three wooden hangers from the closet,
and I could see a figure in our guest room,
so I went to swinging. I hit, and I hit,
and I hit, and then I ran back to my
room and locked the door. My husband was yelling to

(55:51):
call nine one one because he had just gotten attacked.
I opened the door slowly and laughed because I had
just attacked him. He was not laughing, and he wanted
to press charges. I swore that I didn't know it
was him, and I was terrified. He is so mad
at me. I'll never do edibles again. Why can't he

(56:11):
understand why I attacked him. I'm so glad you said
you'll never do edibles again, because you certainly don't need to,
and your husband doesn't need to do anything either. This
could have been way worse than it was. You both
could have gotten hurt. It could have been one of
your kids in the other room. You got out of
it unscathed, but your husband caught it from you. That's

(56:34):
why he's so mad. I mean, it's self explanatory. Now,
yes he should, and he could be more understanding about
the fact that you reacted out of fear in the
house that night. You said it was pitch black dark,
but you beat him with hangers. You said, I hit,
and I hit and I hit. That's a lot, and
I'm sure it hurt. Hopefully, you know, time will heal

(56:56):
and he'll forgive you. Maybe hopefully he will, but you
got give him time. So in the meantime, you need
to flush all those edibles and all that weed down
the toilet, and no more wine for you.

Speaker 6 (57:07):
I'm glad you said it yourself, Steve.

Speaker 9 (57:10):
I can't even believe you tried to seriously address this
ragged ass letter.

Speaker 1 (57:14):
That's what you know.

Speaker 9 (57:15):
You was actually trying to give sounded like to the
damn food. But this letter don't make no damn sense.
Listen now, this right here, this this letter right here,
this is the dumbest one we didn't have in a while.
This one is dumb right here. Now, all this this
whole letter that I hurt him because he scared me.

(57:36):
That's what the Tyler letter is. But let's just go
down to what's really wrong your My husband and I
had two kids before we graduated from high school. God,
that's hard, man. I mean that's a lot of people
now now you know people have children in high school.
Ain't nothing that happens. But didn't that make you.

Speaker 10 (57:56):
Go, damn?

Speaker 1 (57:57):
Two kids? Wow in high school? Whoa damn? Damn?

Speaker 9 (58:04):
And we did what everybody said we wouldn't do. We
got married, raised our children, and we're still in love
now Here. The problem with the letter we reclaiming our
youth and our children are sick of.

Speaker 1 (58:15):
Us because we have run into them at.

Speaker 9 (58:18):
Nightclubs, bars and strip club once. We both turned fifty
and we both worked from home. Why y'all still at
the club though at fifty. I'm telling you right now,
there's some people in trouble right now, right now that's

(58:38):
in a fifty still party because you're having too much fun.
And I want you all to understand what fun is.
Fun is an acronym. I talked this to my children
a while back. They said, Dad, we're going out after
the fight. I say, where you going? I said, I'm
going back to the hotel. Man, I'm gonna get me
some room surface I'm going to bed in Vegas my

(59:01):
sons we going out and saying, man, y'all be careful
out there. It was already midnight when the fight was over.
We leaving t Mobile Arena. They said, we're going out
and said, I said, we're gonna have some fun. I said, son,
it's a little bit late for fun. I had enough
fun at the fight. But if you keep having fun,
fun is an acronym because if you keep having fun,

(59:23):
fun actually stands for it's effed up now. That's what
f you in stands for, It's effed up now. If
you keep on having fun, it always gets to a point,
like if you stay at the club till it closed, Yep,
it's effed up now. If you keep riding the roller

(59:45):
coaster over and over and you wind and got something there,
and you keep riding now and now it ain't fun
no more. It's effed up now. And that's what didn't
happen to them. Weed is legally in our state. So
we just started smoking weed and doing the edibles because
we have streust at fifty. You started smoking weed at fifty, damn, y'all.

Speaker 1 (01:00:06):
Stupid man, y'all, y'all.

Speaker 9 (01:00:09):
I love drinking wine, but my husband don't care for
alcohol now here what I know what we're talking about
a certain economic level. Last Saturday, I got a box
of wine and had a box of wine.

Speaker 6 (01:00:21):
No, hang on, hang on, Stee, we'll have in a
while of.

Speaker 11 (01:00:27):
Your response coming up. Three span YadA at twenty three
minutes after today's Strawberry letter, subjects I heard him because
he scared me.

Speaker 6 (01:00:36):
We'll get back into it right after this.

Speaker 3 (01:00:38):
You're listening hard Morning show.

Speaker 11 (01:00:41):
All right, Come on, Steve, let's recap today's strawberry letter.
The subject is I heard him because he scared me.

Speaker 9 (01:00:48):
This letter is ridiculous. I surely tried to help him.
I can't two people in the head in high school.
It had two babies in high school before they graduated. Damn,
that's what. That's what you have to say to that.
One baby we understood, but two babies, damn. Okay. And
then y'all did what everybody said you weren't gonna do.

(01:01:10):
You got married anyway, y'all still in love, but y'all
recapturing your youth. And your children are sick of y'all
because y'all ran up into my nightclub, balls and Troop Club.
And we both turned fifty and we both work from
home and we have a ball together. Then she said
weed is legally in our state. So we just started
smoking weed and doing elibles edibles because we have very

(01:01:31):
stressful job.

Speaker 1 (01:01:31):
Didn't you just say you work from house?

Speaker 10 (01:01:33):
Yeah?

Speaker 9 (01:01:34):
How stressful is your job if you're working from home?
And why do you start smoking weed at fifty?

Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
Y'all?

Speaker 9 (01:01:43):
Stupid? I love drinking wine, but my husband don't care
for alcohol. Le'ss sadday hear I go. This was no
this some pole, this some pope mess right here.

Speaker 1 (01:01:51):
Last said I got a box of wine. I haven't
heard that in a while.

Speaker 9 (01:01:55):
Like I said before we left, you should have got
yourself some some spanyarda and some Anie Green springs and
just really just set it out and had yourself a
wonderful hood ass time. Y'all familiar with Annie Green springs? No,
Annie Green springs is wine? Surely, okay, it's a heavy
just okay, don't worry about it.

Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
You know what is though? You have heard of span YadA?

Speaker 3 (01:02:21):
Sorry?

Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
No, okay?

Speaker 9 (01:02:22):
Anyway, And I had about four glasses, my husband had
half a glass.

Speaker 1 (01:02:27):
His friend bought over a bag of gummy.

Speaker 9 (01:02:29):
Bad edibles, and my husband ate a few but I
had a lot more and I started feeling these gummies.

Speaker 1 (01:02:35):
So then I went to lay down.

Speaker 9 (01:02:36):
It was dark in the bed, and I was feeling
good and the house was quiet, so I figured my
husband had left out with his friend. Around nine pm,
I heard a noise in the other bedroom and jumped up.

Speaker 1 (01:02:47):
I couldn't see anything because it was pitch black in
the house. The room was.

Speaker 9 (01:02:50):
Spinning from the wine, and I had the edible was
still in my system. I grabbed three wooden hangers from
the closet. That is not a good weapon. If you
hear a noise in the house and you get up
to inspected, what is three wooden hangers gonna do?

Speaker 1 (01:03:09):
This was an edible decision you made right here. If
weed had you thinking that these.

Speaker 9 (01:03:14):
This is I could see a figure in our guest room,
so I went to swing and I hit, I hit,
I hit, and then I ran back to my room
and locked the door.

Speaker 1 (01:03:25):
What my husband was yelling to call nine one one
because he had just got attacked. How high are y'all?
Let me stop doing? How high is these people? You done?

Speaker 9 (01:03:44):
Grabbed three wooden hangers, ran in the next room of
your house, start beating your husband? You don't realize nowhere
in the hollering that this is your husband. Your husband
holler called nine one one. I'm being attacked. Dog? Who
you getting your ass whopped in your house? And you
hollering to who called nine one one? How high are y'all?

(01:04:10):
How high can you be? Because he had just got attacked,
I opened the door slowly and laughed because I had
just attacked him. Oh you laughing, I'm surprised that I've
seen that on a lot of people smoke weed laugh.
He was not laughing, and he wanted to press charges.
What went right there?

Speaker 10 (01:04:34):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:04:34):
Wit? What?

Speaker 9 (01:04:36):
The letter was already stupid? And then women he ain't laughing,
So now he want to press charges. How high are y'all?
What black man?

Speaker 1 (01:04:50):
See?

Speaker 9 (01:04:51):
This is what we don't do. What black man is
going to call the police on his wife? What black man,
you know call the police to their house?

Speaker 10 (01:05:03):
Right?

Speaker 9 (01:05:04):
I swore that I didn't know it was him, and
I was terrified. He's so mad at me. I'll never
do edibles again. Well, that's a great decision. You need
to stop doing edibles. You need to quit smoking weed,
and y'all need to quit buying that damn wine in
that box. Why can't he understand? Why tactile? Why are

(01:05:27):
you writing us? Don't nobody out here on the Steve
Harvey Radio Show listening audience even give a damn about
this letter.

Speaker 1 (01:05:36):
That all we know is y'all old ass.

Speaker 9 (01:05:38):
Had got to stop smoking weed, doing edibles and drinking wine.
See you just started at fifty. You can't combine all
this stuff. Y'all doing too much. Y'all at the strip
club running into your kids. You fifty, you pass strip
club age, Bob nightclub, you passed the age each you

(01:06:01):
you missed your childhood. You can't do it no more.
You can go you can. You can go to a bar,
but you gotta go to a bartist age related. You
probably need to go to a tavern or something.

Speaker 1 (01:06:21):
Yeah yeah, man, yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 10 (01:06:23):
You know.

Speaker 9 (01:06:24):
See they real regular people because you buying box of
wine and all this head and hand four glasses, so
just going to live a regular life. You start acting
more of an adult.

Speaker 10 (01:06:33):
You.

Speaker 1 (01:06:34):
I can't help you, though, I don't give a damp.

Speaker 9 (01:06:36):

Oh, they both four and two, but I'm going with
Lamar and then Henry Air charges Cardinals Cardinals shocker.

Speaker 5 (01:09:53):
Okay, wow, you know Browns are playing the Bengals, so pipping.

Speaker 1 (01:09:58):
You know you know this is Yeah, I'm beginning to
not care.

Speaker 6 (01:10:08):
Ever, No mo all right, Junior, thank you, Junior, Thank you.

Speaker 11 (01:10:12):
Pimpin coming up at the top of the hour.

Speaker 6 (01:10:14):
It's important.

Speaker 11 (01:10:16):
Is it important I should say to tell your spouse
everything you do on a work trip. That's the question.
She needs advice from you, Steve. Right after this, you're
listening morning show. This one is from Kirston and Cincinnati.
Steve Kirsten says, I had a short two day work
trip in San Antonio and my best friend met me

(01:10:38):
there to shop and hang out. I call my husband
and he heard my friend in the background. He got
mad because he didn't know she was joining me. I
wasn't withholding info. I simply forgot to mention it. I
was too busy trying to get our child situated before
I left town. He doesn't tell me everything, so why
is he tripping?

Speaker 9 (01:10:58):
So you have to explain, not just go live your
life what your girlfriend showed up. You're all ways shopping,
so he'd be mad. He'll get over he mad because
he had the house with the baby. That's all this is.
And then you out here, and that's all that is.
He he didn't really cared about what you're doing. He
does know you out with your girlfriend shopping laughing. He
end up putting babies to bed, doing homework.

Speaker 1 (01:11:21):
That's all that is for two days, Peter to day.
There you go, Steve.

Speaker 11 (01:11:27):
I like, all right, we have time for another one.
This one's from Earlene in Valdosta, Early.

Speaker 10 (01:11:35):
Arlene.

Speaker 6 (01:11:36):
That's right, Earlene Arlene.

Speaker 11 (01:11:38):
I'm on a Christian dating site for older people, and
all of them look a lot old.

Speaker 9 (01:11:42):
We already know you was older because your name is Early.
You didn't have to say that. You could just say
you was on a Christian dating site. Already know you
was born like it knew like.

Speaker 1 (01:11:53):
In the fifties.

Speaker 11 (01:11:56):
Anyway, She's on this Christian dating site for older people,
she says, and all of the look a lot older
than she does. She says, I won't tell my age,
but I could pass for sixty.

Speaker 6 (01:12:06):
I still have.

Speaker 11 (01:12:07):
All of my hair and it's still jet black. The
old men, I see.

Speaker 5 (01:12:11):
I told.

Speaker 1 (01:12:13):
What I tell you.

Speaker 6 (01:12:16):
Yeah, she said that.

Speaker 11 (01:12:18):
Uh, the old men, the old men I see on
the site don't look like they're they're taking care of themselves.
Would I be wrong to start lying about my age
and date younger men?

Speaker 1 (01:12:32):
Wow, girl, you can pass for sixty.

Speaker 6 (01:12:36):
That's what she was.

Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
So we never heard nobody say that before.

Speaker 11 (01:12:40):
She said, I'm not gonna tell my age, but I
can pass for six.

Speaker 1 (01:12:43):
I can pass for sixty. Now, baby, let me just
go and say that.

Speaker 9 (01:12:50):
The reason they don't look like they taken care of
theyself because they don't. They done. They have taken care
of theirself. It's just called wow and tell. It's like,
you know, it's like you wanna used car out talking
about these cars don't look new now, hell they old.

(01:13:13):
Now you could pass for sixty. Now I'm in on
that telling you. I'm telling you I'm seventy six. Just
face time, get you a camera, FaceTime the people that
you want a dating. Just make sure he's sitting on
the edge of the bed. You can see that nice stand.

Speaker 1 (01:13:28):
That's gonna tell the whole damn story right now.

Speaker 9 (01:13:30):
What you can't see nothing on the night stand, it's
because if you can't see nothing on the night stand,
because it's covered with pills.

Speaker 1 (01:13:40):
He gonna need some help. He gonna need a lie
of it.

Speaker 9 (01:13:45):
If you something metal laying up next to the bed, now,
he gonna need some help.

Speaker 11 (01:13:51):
Yeah, what what?

Speaker 6 (01:13:53):
What could be metal on the night stand?

Speaker 10 (01:13:56):
Are you talking?

Speaker 1 (01:13:57):
You know? Them?

Speaker 9 (01:13:58):
Them them crutches with the on them.

Speaker 1 (01:14:04):
If you stick your arm if if yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:14:06):
If you're paying in the room and you see a
toilet on some wheels, I'm just telling you you probably
need to just go pack because you're gonna have to
help him get to that toilet with the wheels on it.

Speaker 1 (01:14:19):
You know, just a lot of stuff.

Speaker 5 (01:14:20):
If you see a walk in bath too, trust me, Yeah,
that's a definite.

Speaker 1 (01:14:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (01:14:26):
If you see just some stuff. If you see any machinery.

Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
Yeah yeah. If you hear any.

Speaker 9 (01:14:36):
Noises while y'all talking up, baby, how about some Talcolm pile?
If you see some power, if you see a lady
walk by in the background with a uniform on, yeah, you.

Speaker 1 (01:14:54):
Already got some help.

Speaker 6 (01:14:57):
Here.

Speaker 1 (01:15:00):
Yeah, baby, I don't know what to tell you, but
you can pass for sixty. That's cute.

Speaker 11 (01:15:06):
Coming up at twenty minutes after the hour, Thanks guys,
we'll have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show.

Speaker 3 (01:15:12):
Right after this, you're listening Harvey Morning Show.

Speaker 11 (01:15:18):
So, guys, today is National Mammography Day, and we all
know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Mammograms saved
lives are very very important. I just had for myself
a scare. I didn't share that with you guys, but yeah,
I just had a scare. I hadn't had my mammogram

(01:15:39):
yet for this year, and I just happened to fill
some thornness in my left breast area and then I
felt it. I did a self examination and there was
a lump there, and of course, naturally.

Speaker 6 (01:15:53):
I freaked out.

Speaker 11 (01:15:54):
I immediately got on the phone call my doctor, got
an appointment the next day. She said it up, so
I can go and get my mammogram. They couldn't find anything,
so but they didn't they didn't give me a clean slate.
They still wanted me to get a biopsy, so I
had to do that in that time. That waiting period

(01:16:14):
was about two or three weeks, and it was just
panic mode because you don't know what's going on in
your life. You feel this lump and you don't know
what it is. So finally I went to get my
biopsy and everything. Still have to wait a few more
days for the for the results. Got the results and
it was benign.

Speaker 6 (01:16:32):
Praise the Lord, Praise Jesus.

Speaker 11 (01:16:35):
Please, yeah, good, yeah, please, ladies, get your get your
mammograms please.

Speaker 6 (01:16:42):
You know it's not a joke. It's not a joke.

Speaker 11 (01:16:44):
I don't have any history of breast cancer or anything
like that in my family, but that doesn't mean you
can't get it still.

Speaker 6 (01:16:50):
So yes, all right, we'll have more of the Steve.

stuff that can be wrecked in thirty days?

Speaker 6 (01:17:41):

Speaker 1 (01:17:45):
Just a month, I'm gonna tell you, you'll just do
it thirty days in a row. No, Yes, I told
I've told the true. I've told the truth thirty times.

Speaker 6 (01:18:00):
All right, we're moving on. We're moving on, big button,
big hips.

Speaker 3 (01:18:06):
All right.

Speaker 6 (01:18:07):
Would you rather Pet Poblo or Jay Z.

Speaker 5 (01:18:12):

pity for me, man like a helicopter or Peter.

Speaker 1 (01:18:21):

Speaker 12 (01:19:10):

Speaker 5 (01:19:13):
All right?

Speaker 11 (01:19:13):
Would you rather kiss your ex on the cheek for
one million dollars or kiss a lion on the cheek
for what but the line?

Speaker 3 (01:19:22):
That's it?

Speaker 1 (01:19:23):
No, no, no, Me and that EXE are just being
a warm embrace we're not getting in that cave. Tell
your head off. I'm gonna kiss some of the cheek,
but she better not turn her lips towards me. Now,
she better not do that.

Speaker 9 (01:19:41):
You ain't gonna be turning towards me. I tell you
that that line ain't gonna be turning to That's what
tell me.

Speaker 11 (01:19:50):
All right, last one, quickly meet love, pot roast. Would
you rather meet love?

Speaker 1 (01:19:55):
That's something we ought to ask you because you're the
one on the show cooker.

Speaker 7 (01:20:07):
That.

Speaker 1 (01:20:10):
Yeah, I'm I'm a meat loaf man. Ain't nothing like that?
Good day after leftover meat loaf, sandwich sandwich?

Speaker 11 (01:20:18):
Yes, all right, coming up next, we'll close out the
show with the one and only Steve Harvey.

Speaker 6 (01:20:26):
Right after this, you're listening.

Speaker 3 (01:20:30):
Morning Show.

Speaker 6 (01:20:31):
All right here we are, guys, our last break of
the day.

Speaker 11 (01:20:33):
We want to say thank you very much to Bakari
Seller's political analysts. Bacari Sellers shown. Yeah, breaking it down, point,
very profound point.

Speaker 9 (01:20:44):
Yes, we've got to get out and vote, y'all. It's
go time now, no more messing around. Make sure you registered.
You can steal register, you can steal vote, you can
make a difference, and come on brothers. They're trying to
count us our book, but we know who we really are.
We black man strong identify as a black man. I
make no excuses for it. I ain't on no side

(01:21:06):
of the coin. I am a proud black man.

Speaker 1 (01:21:11):
That's what I am. I know who we are. I
know what we are, I know what we about, I
know what we go through.

Speaker 9 (01:21:18):
I know the challenges. I know everything about this thing
called black manhood, and I'm proud to be one. I
wouldn't trade places with nobody in this world because of
all the accomplishments I have, I get to also add
the fact that I did it all as a black man.

Speaker 1 (01:21:38):
So to all you.

Speaker 9 (01:21:38):
Brothers out there that have jobs that's working, do you
accomplish this as a black man? All of you brothers
out there, as fathers, husbands that open businesses, that have
a corporate positions, that have political positions, that have jobs
at the post office, that waste manage at the cab company,

(01:22:01):
at the beverage center, you did all this as a
black man.

Speaker 1 (01:22:06):
Hold your head up and be proud of that.

Speaker 9 (01:22:08):
Because I'm telling you, I'm aware that it comes with
a certain specific set of challenges that oftentimes other men
don't face. But if you are black or brown, you
know exactly what I'm talking about. Now, you may not
be able to relate to what I'm saying. As a
white man, I understand that because you ain't had to
wear this skin. But I ask any white man living,

(01:22:31):
would you trade places with the black person? Would you
trade places with them? Would you give up your life
and your privilege and your existence and all that you've had,
would you replace it in exchange for a black person?
And the answer is no. Would you accept the treatment

(01:22:52):
that black people have had to face in this country?
As white person, would you trade places with a black
person in the US, the United States of America, knowing
what they have suffered through and gone through, or even
if you don't believe they suffered, would you trade places
with them?

Speaker 1 (01:23:09):
And the answer is no, Because brothers, I know who
we are. We know who we are.

Speaker 9 (01:23:15):
That's why we see each other sometime and we just
randomly speak. You know that's still happening. I still see
brothers in places, man, and I give them a head
nod when I see them because I recognize them. Sometimes
I'm walking down the street and walking some places and
I'll make eye contact with a brother, and I just say,
what's up, brother A Steve, what's up?

Speaker 10 (01:23:37):
Man?

Speaker 9 (01:23:38):
And we just give each other that nod because we
are aware of what it is. So I've been proud
to be a black man my entire life. My proudest
day as a black man was October sixteenth, nineteen ninety five,
the Million Man March. That was never a day in
my life I have been more proud to be a

(01:24:00):
black man. A police officer who was on a horse
saw me, and I wasn't as famous as I am today,
but I had to show me and the boys. I
was on showtime at the Apollo Steve Harvey show was
just about to start, and this policeman was on horseback
and he recognized me, and he got down off his

(01:24:22):
horse and he said, hey, sir, can I say something
to you? I said yeah. He said, I apologize. I said,
you apologize for what he said, for what we were
prepared for. He said, this entire police force was prepared
for looting and rioting, and we knew that's what was

(01:24:43):
going to happen. He said, to see this many people
and to have no incidents at all, He said, I
just wanted to say I'm sorry, I said, I appreciate
you saying that, and he got back up on that
horse and it was heartfelt. And that was one of
the greatest days of my life. But I've had many
after that. And you shared two brothers, and remember because

(01:25:07):
you are who you are, and we have overcome all
that we've overcome. There's an election coming up, and they
talking about black men gonna set this one out because
we feel disenfranchised, and I understand why some black people
are saying that, I really really do, and we ain't
saying that we feel this enfranchised. We have been this enfranchised.

(01:25:30):
It ain't a feeling, it's a fact. It's a reality
that we all live in. But it's also the obligation
that we have because we will be fathers of children
and we have to leave a better world for them
than the one we lived in. And this election has
something to do with that. Something happened in my world

(01:25:52):
as a black man that I didn't think would ever happened.
I saw the election of a black man to become
the first African American president of the UN the United States.
I didn't think I'd ever lived to see that in
my lifetime. I was actually shocked when he won. I
voted for him, I pulled for him, I pushed for him,

(01:26:12):
but I was shocked. And now there's another first on
the horizon. The first woman could become president, and this
woman happens to be black. Now for us, I'm telling
you it's a win win. All we got to do
is show up and make the difference. I'm tired of

(01:26:33):
people telling me how black people think, how black men are,
what black men. I'm tired of your ass ain't black.
You don't know, you don't know. But I'm gonna tell
you who we really are. We everything you don't think
we are. We are capable in ways that you never
thought we could be capable of because we that type strong,
We black strong, we black men. You feel me, That's

(01:26:55):
who we really are. I'm perfectly fine with that. Congratulations
Steve on being a solid black dude. Congratulation all my
brothers out there who are solid black dudes. And I
know you man, I'm proud of you, man, and I'm
glad to be one of you. Count me in every
damn day because I'm black twenty four seven, just like

(01:27:16):
the rest of y'all.
