Speaker 1 (00:00):
Toby and Chilly Mornings on demand on ninety seven point one.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
So why are you.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
Feeling good before five o'clock this morning? It's Toby and
Chilly in the Morning, ninety seven point one wash FM.
You want to know, I'm feeling some joy feeling good
before five?

Speaker 2 (00:14):
I woke up.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
This morning to an unannounced, unexpected text from a colleague
saying congratulations on a career milestone. I didn't even realize
it was a career milestone. What the milestone is is
neither here nor there. Just the fact that somebody took
the time to actually keep track of that and care,
even if they put it in as a calendar reminder.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
It was that.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
It was just one of those things unexpected this morning
that made me go, Wow, it's good to be alive,
and it's even better to be appreciated. Ninety seven point
one wash FM.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
So that's me. Why are you feeling good this morning?

Speaker 4 (00:50):
I'm just enjoying the fact that this rain is finally
starting to move out so that I can enjoy Walctober.

Speaker 5 (00:55):
I did not know so Walktober.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
It's one of these gimmicky things where you're urge to
walk more in the month of October.

Speaker 5 (01:03):
Yeah, they also say sober October.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
But anyway, Yes, I'm just glad that this rain is
kind of, you know, moving away so that I can
get longer walks in with the dog and whatnot. So
the fresh air does my mental health a lot of good.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
I hope you're right, because man, I've got a lot
of walking to do at the end of October. In
this form of this five kN a ten k and
ask me if I'm ready for that part of October.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Nope.

Speaker 3 (01:27):
But if the rain being out of the way is
bringing you joy and it's causing you to find some peace,
then maybe I'll steal some of it if I can.

Speaker 5 (01:33):
And it's hump day, so that means.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
We're in the middle of the week, way through another week,
way through another week.

Speaker 5 (01:38):
It's a good day.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
I suppose soon we'll have made it to Friday. Soon
we will God have mercy.

Speaker 4 (01:45):
If we don't, I will say that I'm not sure
Fairfax County is the only county I probably not, But
today is there Friday. So my son is very happy
that he doesn't have school the next two days.

Speaker 3 (01:56):
I think I feel like there's one day that these
the kids in Montgomery can have like a random Thursday
off and then they go back on frit lod. Now
you can't keep track of all of these calendars. Why
don't they just unify the calendars for the entire DMV
get together on something people. Anyway, what's your least favorite
day of the week? Is it Wednesday? No, there's some
research out. I know we've talked about Sunday scaries and

(02:19):
being afraid of a new week before, but this one
gets a little bit more in depth. We'll talk about
it coming up next. Welcome to the Wednesday edition of
Toby and Chile in the Morning, d C.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Thank you for being here.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
The question this morning is what is your least favorite
part of the week? Where Toby and Chilly in the Morning.
It's ninety seven point one wash FM. They did another survey.
It's it's like, you know the Rolodex of surveys. They
reach a certain point in the year, they're like, hey,
let's do the Sunday scary survey again. Well, they do
find that the Sunday scaries, I guess settle it at
three point fifty four in the afternoon on a Sunday.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
Yeah, that's because the Monday workload is going to be
beginning the next morning.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
But that's not you know what, It's funny, even though it.

Speaker 4 (02:59):
Would make sense that Sunday would be the least favorite
day of the week, Like for me, it's Tuesdays.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
Why is that because like I still.

Speaker 4 (03:07):
Have a little bit of energy from the weekend recharge
on a Monday, but Tuesdays just like that's when the
wall of like exhaustion kind of starts again or hits
and then I'm like, gosh.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
We still have such a waste to go before Friday.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
That's my Friday.

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Fridays for me are not a typical Friday for people,
Like I have a lot to do before I can unplug,
and I choose to do it, and that's fine, but
it's just knowing that I've got that mountain of things
to do before i can unplug for the weekend, it
gets a little daunting at times. It's more daunting for
me than a Monday. You know, I think Monday is
gonna go the way of the four day work we
get some point. Yeah, But for me, Friday, I know

(03:43):
it's Friday, and I'm like, okay, I.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Just have to get through this marathon.

Speaker 5 (03:46):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
Talkback microphone wide open for you if you've got some
thoughts about the worst day of the week. Fred, listening
to us this morning in Arlington, what is your least
favorite part of the weekend?

Speaker 2 (03:57):
Why?

Speaker 6 (03:57):
Oh man, I hate Thursday.

Speaker 5 (04:00):
But you're so close to the weekend.

Speaker 3 (04:03):
I know it's weird, but my work starts on Thursday
and on Monday, so well, everyone else's weekends are starting,
mine are ending.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Fred, Thank you.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
I hear a lot of my friends in law enforcement
and who work in the medical profession, like nurses and doctors,
who say the same thing. To Columbia Leslie, what's the
worst part of the week for you?

Speaker 2 (04:21):
I always hate waking up on Monday.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
I feel like I've never had a long enough weekend.
The day seems to go by so slow, and I
just feel like the end of the week.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Is so far away.

Speaker 5 (04:32):
Well that's because it is, unfortunately, but yeah, it's true.
Here we are though. It is a Wednesday, and on
a hump day, you're almost there.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
And if you need a little help to get you
through today and what's left of the week, your morning mindset,
that could be just the thing you need. Time now
for your morning mindset. It's ninety seven point one to
watch FM. This is where we take a few seconds
to contemplate some words.

Speaker 5 (04:55):
And to share a quote to get you into a
good headspace.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
Neil Walsh says, life begins at the end of your
comfort zone. That is so true, is it not, Neil
Walsh says. Neil Donald Walsh says, life begins at the
end of your comfort zone. It's great to be comfortable.
It's nice to be copasetic, it's nice to have things
that are just that never change, right. But when you

(05:20):
get out of your comfort zone, that's when you find
out what life really is all about.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Neil Donald Walsh is onto something.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
So if you've been in the comfort zone, if you've
been stuck in the safety of complacency, leave the comfort
zone and watch your life get started. Think about that
today if it helps, share it with someone who may
need it just like you did. That's your morning mindset
for this Wednesday, the second day of October.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Where Tooby and Chilly in the morning.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
It's ninety seven point one wash FM coming up in
minutes and entertainment news.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
We call it chilbis buzz. What have you been working on? Chilling?

Speaker 6 (05:53):
Thanks?

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Are going from bad to worse for Sean Diddy Combs,
he faces an additional one hundred and twenty sexual assault lawsuits.

Speaker 5 (06:02):
We've got more details on the way.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Top stories, top of the hour.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Iran is warning Israel against responding to the missile attack
it launched yesterday. The Iranian mission to the UN said
that if Israel responds, a quote crushing response will follow.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
The vice presidential debate between jd.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
Vance and Tim Walls was largely civil last night, focusing
on key issues like immigration, healthcare, and foreign policy. Vans
leaned on his biography to contrast himself from the Biden
Harris administration, and then Wall's highlighted policy differences with former
President Trump. Closing arguments are expected today in that involuntary
manslaughter trial of a former Fairfax County police officer named

(06:45):
Wesley Schifflett, who shot and killed thirty seven year old
Timothy Johnson outside Tyson's Corner Center last year. Johnson was
unarmed at the time and who was being chased after
allegedly stealing sunglasses from Nordstrom. The Loud count School System
reporting its first student overdose of the school year. The
suspected non fatal overdose was reported yesterday and is under investigation.

(07:11):
Police in northern Virginia issuing an alert to residents about
a fake Amazon delivery driver who's been stealing packages. A
Woodbridge woman spotted a guy in her and an Amazon
vest on her doorbell camera last week who took a package.
That same suspect was caught on video doing the same
thing at another home nearby. And according to recent survey,

(07:35):
the average amount neighbors plan to spend on Halloween this
year is around two hundred seventy seven dollars. Seventy six
of that is going to candy, the rest is for
decorations and costumes. For cast for today, cloudy with an
isolated shower, possible highs around seventy right now sixty one
in Laurel.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
They'll give you a ride, they'll even deliver your food,
maybe groceries. But Uber is now getting into to a
very unique business. I don't know that this is like
the delivery business, but it will deliver you to experience something.
What you'll find out in minutes, and we'll tell you
what we think about it. We always love to hear
what you think about the things we talk about too,

(08:15):
So call eight sixty six WASHFM, the number one or
tap the talkback microphone to get involved. If you're signed
into your iHeart app this morning and speak outs and
we'll get into what Uber's up to coming up. They'll
give you a ride someplace. They'll deliver food to you.
They'll leave it, deliver groceries. Sometimes you can get them
to run to like the home depot.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Or the lows.

Speaker 3 (08:34):
Uber Now they want to deliver a Safari experience to
you in South Africa. Toby and Chilly in the morning,
it's ninety seven point one WASHFM.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Let me say that again.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
Uber wants to deliver a safari experience in South Africa
to you.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Uber.

Speaker 5 (08:52):
Yeah, and it's a budget safari only two hundred dollars.
It's part of.

Speaker 4 (08:55):
Their I Guess Go Anywhere program. Now that two hundred
bucks sits up to four gats. What a bargain. They'll
take you. They'll take you to a private game reserve.
You'll have lunch, a champagne toast, and you'll have access
to the reserve's ground. You'll get to see elephants, lions, buffalo.
Oh my, yeah, this is different. How do you or

(09:21):
should I say, would you trust an Uber runs?

Speaker 3 (09:27):
I'm looking at Uber's official press release on what they're
calling Uber Safari, and unless if the Uber service looks
anything less than the photo that they clearly photoshopped Uber
Safari onto in this press release gimmick, the answer is no,
I'm not going to trust it. And I mean, if
it looks like it's going to be like this Safari,

(09:48):
if it's going to be this well maintained, this beautiful
with Zebra's.

Speaker 5 (09:52):
Just galling around, why would they be misleading you. That's
their press release they've got.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
So you go with an SUV to the Preserve and
then you transfer onto one of those typical Safari jeep
looking big things, but it's all run by Uber.

Speaker 5 (10:07):
And just to be clear, uh, it's not just some.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
Random dude who's driving around the game Preserve.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
They're using people who know what they're doing in theory.
The only thing that worries me there's a reason.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
Why those Safari tours cost hundreds or thousands, you know,
thousands of dollars.

Speaker 5 (10:27):
Why are we getting the budget? Like what does that mean?

Speaker 3 (10:30):
I understand like Uber's trying to fill seats. Maybe maybe
they cut a deal with some of these Safari Excursion
type people because this is only gonna run on Fridays
and Saturdays.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Through the end of January.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
But I you know, for me, I'm just having the
hardest time wrapping my head around a place that does
meal delivery services maybe gives you a ride someplace.

Speaker 5 (10:52):
They're giving you a ride someplace right to a.

Speaker 3 (10:54):
Safari, Like if a wild animal goes wild animal, is
that Uber Safari gonna get me off of that Grassland's
that you know reserve where all these animals are.

Speaker 5 (11:06):
I just I'll tell you what.

Speaker 4 (11:09):
The only time I can trust an Uber Safaris if
it was like an Animal Kingdom in Disney.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
And you thought your mom car was an Uber Safari
kind of wagon. I mean, wow, Yeah, I don't know.
Take a look at this and let us know what
you think. Eight sixty six, nineteen seven forty three sixty one.
You can read more about it the Toby Chilipage washfim
dot com Uber in the Safari business really Toby.

Speaker 1 (11:32):
And Chilli's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
And the game is afoot. What's the prize today?

Speaker 4 (11:37):
Uh, it's Pentatonics Eagle Bank Arena. And here's the question.
You'll probably do this about thirteen times today, but you
might be happier if you did it more?

Speaker 3 (11:48):
What is it all right? If you want to see Pentatonics?
The numbers eight sixty six Wash FM the number one.
They're coming to town. Thanks to Levi Nation, you can
get in. Here's the question one more time.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
You'll probably do this about thirteen times today, but you
might be happier if you did it more.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
What is it all right? You've got the question. If
you know the answer, call now. We'll all learn something
new and you'll win those tickets to see Pentatonics.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
The game is on. It's ninety seven point one. Watch
that felt Helby.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
And Chilly's nearly impossible questions.

Speaker 2 (12:13):
We're in Woodbridge, Good morning, how are you?

Speaker 1 (12:16):
I'm great this morning?

Speaker 2 (12:17):
How are you really good?

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Welcome and we are glad you are here to play
for these tickets to see Pentatonics. Here's the question again.

Speaker 4 (12:23):
You'll probably do this about thirteen times today, but you
might be happier if you did it more.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
What is it it's laughing?

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Laughing is very important. It's good for the soul.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
It's been scientifically proven to be therapeutic and to help
with circulation.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
Wow, okay, what was the last time you actually laughed
out loud?

Speaker 2 (12:44):
There?

Speaker 5 (12:44):
Mary?

Speaker 1 (12:45):
Last night.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Well, whatever makes you laugh is therapeutic enough for the
soul when it comes to this game. Congratulations, laughing is
the right answer.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
I can't wait to see Penatonic. Well, we hope you enjoy.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Have a g eight time from ninety seven point one
wash FM, and try to laugh a little more often today.
I will definitely more tickets Panatonics tomorrow morning.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
Another round of your nearly.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
Impossible Question on the Way with us, Toby and Chilly
in the morning. It's ninety seven point one WASHFM. The
News on the Way too. Top stories at the top
of the hour, Hangout.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Top Stories top of the Hour.

Speaker 4 (13:22):
The White House says Iran's attack on Israel appears to
have been defeated. Iran launched nearly two hundred missiles on Israel,
and following the attack, Iran warrant Israel that a crushing
response would follow any retaliation.

Speaker 6 (13:34):
Well.

Speaker 4 (13:34):
Last night's vice presidential debate between JD. Vans and Tim
Walls was civil and focused on key issues such as immigration, healthcare,
and foreign policy. Vance emphasized his differences from the Biden administration,
while Walls focused on criticizing former President Trump and also
stressed bipartisan solutions. A DC dog grooming and boarding business

(13:55):
will have to pay one hundred thousand dollars to the
city to settle claims following with deadly flood Last year,
the District Dog's location on Rhode Island Avenue flooded after
heavy rain breached an exterior wall, leading to the deaths
of ten dogs. And Northern Virginia man is facing charges
for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of Virginia lottery

(14:17):
tickets from multiple Fairfax County convenience stores. Police say that
thirty nine year old Mohammed Akhtar would wait for the
clerks to become distracted before sneaking behind the counter and
stealing scratch off tickets. So how long does it take
for you to fall asleep? According to sleep experts, if
you're out like alike within ten to twenty minutes, you're

(14:38):
in the sweet spot of sleep health. If you're dozing
off under five minutes, you're sleep deprived. And if it
takes you over thirty minutes, you've got insomnia. Forecast for
today cloudy with an isolated shower. Highs around seventy right
now sixty one in Woodbridge, so.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
People on your neighborhood app are debating about an incident.
Is it a food pantry or one of those like
gratitude boxes where people put food in? That's right, well,
because when I think of food, when I think of
food pantry, I think of like the church.

Speaker 2 (15:05):
You're like, you know one of.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
Those, it's like one of those little boxes on the
street where you can donate food. But there's a big
dilemma and a debate, and I was wondering what you
all thought about.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
No doubt you've seen these food pantries. So we'll talk
about this and what's brought about the debate coming up
in just a feel Toby and Chilly in the morning
at ninety seven point one watch FM. There's a great
debate in your neighborhood about one of those gratitude boxes.
In this case, it's a gratitude box full of food
yard food pantry, as it were, chilly.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
What's going on?

Speaker 4 (15:34):
So these are set up various communities and people will
drive by make donations and anyone who needs any of
the food in there will grumb and grab them. Somebody
noticed as they were pulling up to make a donation,
a woman who pretty much emptied out everything in.

Speaker 5 (15:48):
There and left with it.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
Now.

Speaker 4 (15:51):
On the neighborhood app there was a very visceral response. Okay,
so you've got one side who's saying, look, assuming she
needed it, okay.

Speaker 5 (15:59):
Who were need to say how much she should take?

Speaker 4 (16:02):
Then you got the others saying, listen, it's a community
food pantry. That means there are other people who also
need it, so you should have left or we should
leave a little something something for others.

Speaker 5 (16:14):
What do you think?

Speaker 4 (16:15):
Because right now I can kind of see both sides,
but I am leaning towards a little bit. Leave a
little for your brothers and sisters who may be coming
around later in the day.

Speaker 3 (16:24):
Like you, I can see both sides of this story,
and I understand both sides of the story. But for me,
it's like, we don't know what that person needed or
what their family needed. And it's a gratitude box for
a reason. It's out there for a reason. Come get
what you need full stop, you know what I mean?
I just don't think I can judge somebody who might
have cleaned it out.

Speaker 2 (16:43):
Now.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
Can I understand where some people might feel some sort
of way, Sure, but I don't know what this person's
going through. I don't know what's going on in her life,
so I'm just gonna leave it alone.

Speaker 4 (16:52):
And if we make the assumption that that person needed
the food and wasn't just taking advantage of it, we
would love to know your thoughts as well.

Speaker 3 (16:59):
Yeah, six nine seven forty three sixty one is the number.
I'm not one to tempt karma.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Talk back.

Speaker 3 (17:05):
My friend's also open to if you want to jump
in and share some thoughts this morning on these food pantries.
What do you think if you need to clean it out?
Should you should you leave a little something for somebody else? Thoughts?
There are no wrong thoughts, no right thoughts, just thoughts.
Please jump into them. We love hearing them, and we
will It's Toby and Chilly in the morning continues speaking
of thoughts. Have you ever had an awkward run in

(17:26):
with an X? Where was it? What happened? Oh, it's gratuitous,
but we want to know, and we will protect the
names of the innocent or the guilty or both in
this case. Feel free to call us now Eat sixty
six wash FM the number one eight six six NINETWOY
seven forty three sixty one.

Speaker 2 (17:43):
That's next. These things continue want to win.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
Ninety seven point one wash FM Toby and Chilly in
the morning on this Wednesday. So this comes to us
from the Internet of Things, where Gin and Ben, who
are on the A list, are splitting up if they've
been spotted together in h Hollywood doing different things. Now,
it creates an awkward situation to see this, but it's
got to be even more of an awkward situation for

(18:06):
the two involved because of a town like Hollywood, in
a business like entertainment, it's kind of hard to stay
away from one another, which got us talking about awkward
encounters with xes this morning.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
Thankfully, I've never been in that boat. First of all,
I only had like three relationships, but every single one
of those guys ended up moving out of state. Lucky
for me, there's really little to no chance of me
running into them.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
What about you, Tampa, Florida.

Speaker 3 (18:31):
I was at a show, ran into an ex didn't
know what to say, so I did the whole about
face Houdini and prayed to the baby Hayes whose I did.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Not get seen.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
Oh that's so mature.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
It was either that or just stand there looking dumbfounded.
Ninety seven point one WASCHFM. We're Toby and Chilly in
the morning at eight sixty six nine two seven forty
three sixty one. We're looking done thumb founded isn't really
too hard for me to do, but nonetheless I felt
like I needed to get out of dodge. Yeah, now,
who do we have on the phone? Who wants to
jump into this conversation this early in the morning.

Speaker 5 (18:59):
Looks like it's Andrea in Ashburn?

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Go ahead, awkward encounter with the nex. What happened, ma'am?

Speaker 1 (19:04):
Yes, I was shopping at home depot and this guy's
back would sports me and I say go past. He
had a Patriot jacket on to her mouth.

Speaker 4 (19:12):
Is my ex rusman his new wife?

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Yeah, that's not an easy situation to maneuver out of.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
No awkward. How long had it been since you saw him?
And had you ever seen his new wife before that moment?

Speaker 6 (19:26):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (19:26):
Yeah, I met her when they were going to our separation.
I don't know, maybe a year or so.

Speaker 5 (19:31):
But we live in Ashburn, it's not that big a town.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
Do you pretend not to see him and try to
like get away or do you walk up and say hello,
good to see you too.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
Killing your kindness because that would get.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
Him back I've been wanting to pull the Houdini.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Then I'd vant into his ex wife at amazes. One
time she was my shoes and that was even weirder.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
Did you know at the time you were dating the
serial dater of Ashbourn.

Speaker 1 (19:56):
No, I did not.

Speaker 3 (19:59):
Thank you for the This Morning eight sixty six ninety two,
seven forty three sixty one. The talkback microphone also open
too if you want to spam us and tell us
about an awkward encounter you had with an ex. Denise
on Facebook says, I've never had one. I left the
country to avoid this.

Speaker 6 (20:13):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (20:13):
Okay, Wow, I take it you work in the foreign
service or something. Wendy, We love Wendy. She says, six
years after breaking up with somebody, she ran into somebody
with a with her daughter at a movie theater and
the guy was like, I didn't realize you had a
little girl. Huh wow. So did you have an awkward
encounter with an X? What went down? Hit us up?

(20:34):
Tell us all about it. We'll get into it and
