Toby and Chili Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point
one Wash Up Out.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
It's Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven
point one wash FM. Welcome to Tuesday, August thirteenth. I
am Chili Amar. Toby Napp is out. Our producer Taylor
Shay is here, and I'm grateful that I am safe
and sound because I had to do something I hate
having to do early in the morning, getting gas.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Dunt, dun, dun.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
I hate.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
I know, well, I mean, how many people feel comfortable
rolling up to a gas station at two in the morning.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
There's something very eerie.

Speaker 4 (00:34):
Even in safe neighborhoods. It feels unsafe at that time
of day.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
And I haven't had to do this I maybe a
decade really, since I've met my husband, I've never had
to pump gas in the middle of the night. He
is so good about making sure that I have a
full tank of gas or enough gas to get me
to and from work. He's very mindful of that. And
I get my own gas in the middle of the day,
in the middle of the right. But yesterday I was

(01:01):
running low and I was picking up dinner, and I
said to my husband on the phone. Listen, I'm gonna
stop and get gas. I'm gonna be a little bit later.
And he was so hungry. He was like, listen, I'll
get you the gas later. Just just come home with
the food. And I'm like okay, but he forgot. Oh no,
don I get in the car. I drive to the
gas station on a very busy road, because again I

(01:23):
have to think of these things in case something goes down,
maybe a car will drive by and stop and help
or call whatever. So silly that I mean, whatever, And
thankfully I'm fine. Obviously here I am, and I got
my guess, and I'm good for at least another week.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
You can go a week on a tank of gas.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
I can because I only drive that one car to
Tyson's and home. Oh yeah, and then when you use
a second car for other errand's got it.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
I mean, I don't know what I would have done
if I saw somebody creepy.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Actually I would I have screamed. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
You know what I read one time, and I actually
tried this and it worked. If you see somebody shady
around you, if it's stark outside or whatever, make eye
contact and say hello. It's kind of disarming that really,
that they know that you know they're there.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
So scurrying into my car and locking the door is
not the right thing to do and.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Be like, Hi, Hi, you doing good to see you.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
I'm gonna do it in the morning. Yeah, exactly. Thanks
for the little tip. I appreciate it. Now, speaking of tips,
I do have one for you.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I did something very different this time when we were
planning our family vacation and it has to do with
chat GPT. Very cool, and I'll share that in just
a few minutes. As Toby and Chilly in the Morning
continues on ninety seven point one, the next time you're
planning a trip to a new city, use chat gpt
to plan your itinerary. It's Toby and Chilly in the

(02:47):
Morning on ninety seven point one Wash FM. I'm Chilli Amar,
Toby Napp is out, our producer Taylor Shay is here
and I just recently tried that whole thing out and
it was so amazing.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
I'm curious why.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
So usually when we're going to go on a vacation,
I do all the research on Google, like where are
the best restaurants for kids? Or you know, and it's
just like time consuming because you have to ask every
specific question anyway, make a long story short. Instead of
going to Google, I got this crazy idea which at
GPT kind of takes all of the Internet and condenses

(03:24):
it for you in very nice little packet. And so
I said, I asked it a question like, hey, I'm
going with my ten year old nag's head, if you know,
what are some things we can do in case it.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
Rains, you know, And it gave me.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
Such a great concise like list of places and the
great little blurbs about each of these restaurants or each
of these indoor activities. It was like having a little
travel agent, you know, like you know which days are
best to do this, and we know is the weather
gonna be okay? And it was just really cool, like
having a conversation with instead of a travel agent with
chat GPT, so.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
There's no and there's absolutely nothing to worry about.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah, it was really because usually with chat GPT, I know,
like people that I know use it. They use it
to paraphrase reports that they're writing or whatever. They also
use it. I have a girlfriend of mine who uses
chat GPT to effectively communicate with her husband. Oh, because
she's like, I feel like I say the wrong things

(04:23):
to trigger him. So she uses that to help sort
of use nicer ways of communicating with her husband via email.
And now I can add a travel agent or travel
advice to it. I'm a very big fan because I
do a lot of pre planning before I go anywhere.
Are you the same totally?

Speaker 5 (04:43):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
I don't like show up and then do the research.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
I want to know before I go where we could
go in case it rains or anything.

Speaker 4 (04:50):
Yeah, there's itineraries, there's packing lists that's color coded.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
One time. Oh boy, don't color code the packing list.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
Okay, that's a little extra. I don't do the color
and such. I think chat GPT's as fancy as I'm
gonna get right, Well, it worked for you, it did.
Coming up in just a few minutes, we're gonna try
to get you into a great morning mindset with a quote,
as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety
seven point one was chefl it is Toby and Chilly
in the morning, And ninety seven point one WASHEFM. I'm
Chilliamar Toby Napp is out today. But as we do

(05:20):
this time every morning, we share a quote in hopes
of getting into getting you rather into a better morning mindset.
And this quote is by Susie Kasem. She says, doubt
kills more dreams than failure ever will. So while failure
is often seen as a stepping stone to success, doubt

(05:41):
really prevents us from even trying. It stops us from
pursuing our passions, our goals, or it just automatically, you know,
creates a barrier that's much more difficult to overcome than
any actual failure. And it's really not the fear of
failing that stifles our dreams, but the paralyzing effect of doubt,
which of course can keep us all trapped in this

(06:01):
cycle of inaction or missed opportunity. So I want you
to keep that in mind as you take on the
rest of this day and pretty much anything else the
rest of your life. Okay, Susie Kasem says, doubt kills
more dreams than failure ever will. You can find that
quote and share your own using hashtag morning mindset on
the Toby and chilipage at waschfm dot com. Coming up,

(06:24):
we're gonna get you up to speed on all the
show biz news in our showbiz buzz, including why MTV
Video Music Awards are moving their date for the event
that's minutes away. As Toby and Chili continues on ninety
seven point one WASHCHEFF, Welcome to Tuesday, August thirteenth, Toby

and Chilly in the morning on ninety seven point one WASHFM.
I'm Chili Amar Toby Napp is out today. It is
time now for the showbiz buzz. So the MTV Video

with the upcoming presidential debate. The VMAs are now going
to take place September eleventh, and MTV also announced the

(07:07):
first group of performers for that show, including Sabrina Carpenter
and Camilla Cabeo. Despite rumors of trouble in their marriage,
Jennifer Lopez visited Ben Affleck's home over the weekend. A
source says that Jaylo really wanted to spend time with
his kids before they start school because, I mean, regardless
of where their relationship or their marriage is at, she

(07:30):
still cares a lot about them. The ad slots for
the twenty twenty five Super Bowl are almost sold out already.
Variety reports that Fox is really leveraging the high demand
to price thirty second commercials and more than seven million dollars,
and they're asking buyers to commit to an advertising package

(07:53):
that will include other Fox properties. And an Italian soccer
team is avoiding bankruptcy, all thanks to Drake. So he
reportedly received some notice that Venezia Soccer Club needed over
forty million dollars so they could stay out of bankruptcy.
So Drake and his team managed to raise enough money
to pay their salaries and avoid bankruptcy. Who knew he

(08:15):
was such an Italian soccer fan. And that is your
show biz buzz And coming up in just a few minutes,
we're going to share all the news headlines of the
day in Toby and Chilly's Top Stories. On ninety seven
point one was FM.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
Top Stories Top of the Hour.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Well despite some technical issues, Elon Musk's conversation with former
President Trump on X went on for over two hours
last night. They discussed such things as the attempted assassination,
also immigration, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and the threat of
global warming. A Gaythersburg police officer expected to be okay

(08:51):
after he was hit by a car while trying to
arrest a group of shoplifters. Police started looking for suspects
yesterday after shoplifting was reported at a Dick's Sporting Goods,
and then they were gone when the police arrived. But
then they received a report of shoplifting at a nearby
Lululemon store shortly after, and the driver of a silver

(09:13):
sedan ended up running over an officer's leg when police
try to keep it from leaving the scene. Two local
Olympians are back home from Paris. Both Katie Ledecki and
Quincy Wilson received cheers from dozens of supporters after arriving
at Dallas Airport yesterday. Now, Wilson became the youngest track

(09:33):
athlete ever to win a gold medal as part of
the US men's four hundred meter relay team. And Summer
Restaurant Week is underway in DC. It's going on through Sunday.
More than three hundred restaurants in the DMV are going
to be offering multi course brunches and lunches at price
points of twenty five and thirty five dollars, and then

(09:55):
dinners anywhere from.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Forty to sixty five dollars. If you want to see the.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Lit you can go to ramw dot org. Forecast for
today beautiful day, yet again partly cloudy. High's in the
mid eighties right now sixty three in Ashburn and coming
up in just a few minutes. Our producer Taylor Shae
says she found the perfect hoodie. Wait till you hear

(10:21):
what it inspired her to do. As Toby and Chilly
in the Morning continues on ninety seven point one WASHFF
ninety seven point one wash FM, It's Toby and Chili
in the Morning. I am Chiliamar. Toby Nap is out today,
but our producer Taylor Shay is here, and I notice
that you've got on one of your favorite go.

Speaker 3 (10:41):
To staple hoodie hities.

Speaker 2 (10:43):
Yeah, you're a big fan of the hoodie, but you
do something a little different when you find something you love.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
So I got one hoodie and loved it so much
I went back and bought three more, but in different colors.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
Yeah, exact same hoodie.

Speaker 2 (10:59):
I have a couple of friends who do that, and
I've never quite I mean, I get it. You love
it so much, why not have it in multiple colors?
But like, what is your prerequisite?

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Like?

Speaker 2 (11:09):
What what boxes does it have to check off? For
you to go yep, I want one of every color
of the rainbow or one of every neutral color.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
Couple of things.

Speaker 4 (11:18):
So I have to feel like I look good in
it and it has to be comfortable.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Okay, So is it hard for you to find a hoodie? Like?
Is that hard to find a hoodie? I just love it.
Then I don't look like a slob in yes. Oh okay,
Like this isn't a slobby hoodie. No, it's it's yeah,
you're right, it's a dress to your hoodie. Yeah, exactly.
But is that the only type of clothes that you
have multiple?

Speaker 2 (11:42):
Long?

Speaker 3 (11:42):
No, I have multiple.

Speaker 4 (11:43):
If I buy one thing and I like it, guaranteed
I will go.

Speaker 3 (11:47):
Back and buy it in every color.

Speaker 4 (11:48):
The blazers that I wear all the time, they are
the same blazer in different colors.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
Okay, No, I can't do that. The only thing that
I would buy multiple colors of is like underwear. Oh
that too, Well, that's that's.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Calm, you know, it comes in different neutrals or whatever.
But outerwear, I want my closet to have more variety,
you know. And also that way it gives me an
excuse to turn over things new new pieces of clothing
so that I'll keep wearing the same thing over and
over again.

Speaker 4 (12:14):
More, Chili, just buy it in every color and you
don't have to shop as much.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Yeah, you're right, you probably only have six different things,
but in a million colors.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
So hey, who cares?

Speaker 4 (12:23):
Give me three outfits in different colors and that's all
I need.

Speaker 3 (12:28):
All right, let's play the game.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
Toby and Chili's nearly Impossible Question.

Speaker 2 (12:32):

you are part of the show in Dunkirk.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
Good morning. How are things?

Speaker 5 (13:28):
I'm good?

Speaker 6 (13:28):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (13:29):
I'm doing well.

Speaker 4 (13:30):
Well.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
You've got the question, what do you think The answer
might be?

Speaker 5 (13:34):
I think it's sneaking from one movie to the next
st after you're only paid for one.

Speaker 2 (13:39):
Oh, Michelle, is this a confession of yours? Have you
done that before?

Speaker 6 (13:48):
Maybe one?

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Maybe one's I'm always surprised that people do that, because
to me, I would go crazy if I haven't seen
all of a movie, Like, I'm not going to just
roll up in there in the middle of a movie starting.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
I need to know all of the parts. You know
what I'm saying?

Speaker 1 (14:03):
Yes, absolutely.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Either way, though fifteen percent of moviegoers say they have
snuck into a second movie, that is the correct answer.

Speaker 3 (14:13):
Congrats.

Speaker 1 (14:13):
Ah, yay, thank you.

Speaker 3 (14:15):
You're so welcome. Cindy Lauper Capital One Arena.

Oh my gosh, yay.

Speaker 5 (14:25):
You bets know what.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
I Well, now you have time to figure out who
you want to take with you and We're going to
be back tomorrow morning with another nearly impossible question for
another pair of tickets to Cindy Lauper for October twenty
seventh on Toby and Chilly in the Morning, ninety seven
point one wash FM.

Speaker 1 (14:45):
Top Stories, Top of the Hour.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
The White House supports eliminating taxes on tips for hospitality
and service workers. Vice President Kamala Harris vowed to raise
the mindmum wage and also eliminate taxes on tips during
a recent campaign rally, which was a policy that was
first suggested by former President Trump. The National Weather Service
has confirmed that two F one tornadoes did touchdown in

(15:09):
northern Virginia last week. The Thursday tornado in Stafford County
traveled about seven miles, and then another F one tornado
touchdown about ninety minutes later in Louden County. Thankfully, no
injuries were reported. VEDOT says that Virginians are still getting
smishing texts from scammers requesting payment of fake toll charges,

(15:32):
so anyone that gets such a text should first check
with the toll road in question to see if any
payment is owed. A recent study looked at which states
swear the most on X formerly known as Twitter Now overall,
forty one out of one thousand posts in the US
contain a swear word, but people in Maryland curse the

(15:55):
most on the platform. The Arlington County Fairwell Kill take
off tomorrow at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center and Fitness Center,
and we'll be wrapping up on Sunday. Entry and parking free,
and tickets for rides can be purchased in advance at
Innovative Ticketing dot com. And Finally, a recent study predicts

(16:16):
an eighty four percent increase in cancer cases and a
ninety three percent increase in cancer deaths among men globally
by the year twenty fifty. Contributing factors include aging, air pollution,
tobacco and alcohol use, and obesity. Forecast for today's going
to be another beautiful day, part leak, cloudy, highs around

(16:38):
eighty five with low humidity. Right now it is sixty
two degrees in Germantown. Coming up next, Okay, I'll you
pumpkin spice lovers. A recent survey found a lot of
folks are over that flavor.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
So which is the new king flavor of fall?

Speaker 2 (16:56):
We'll discuss as Toby and Chilly in the morning continues
on nine seven point one WASHFM.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
Oh oh, A.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
Lot of pumpkin spice lovers not gonna be happy with this.
It's Toby and Chili in the morning on ninety seven
point one Wash FM. I'm Chiliamar. Toby Nap is out,
but our producer Taylor Shay is here today. A recent
survey found that fifty two percent of people say they
are tired of pumpkin spice, and sixty percent believe.

Speaker 3 (17:25):
There are actually better flavors for fall.

Speaker 2 (17:29):
Cinnamon is number one, followed by salted caramel and apple.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Know what, no pumpkin spice is it? You are a
PS lover? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (17:43):
If I could drink them year round, I would. I
love it here, I think is the issue. I think
the reason so many people are over the pumpkin spice
is because it used to be just at fall, But
now they're coming out earlier and earlier with the pumpkin
spice flavors and it doesn't feel like it's just a
fall flavor now. I had one last week already, okay,

(18:06):
at seven eleven.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
Yeah, August, I mean, come on, it used to be October.
Now we're in August. I'm not mad about it. You
really do, but.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Are you into like but then they and then what
the other thing they did that make a stick of it? Okay,
so it was just a coffee thing, and then they
did candies and cakes and cereals and all of the
things that shouldn't be pumpkin spice. Dorito's like, I'm just
making that up, but like, that's another reason people I
think are over the pumpkin spice. They oversaturated the market
with it.

Speaker 4 (18:33):
Yeah, but there's always suckers like me that will still
buy it.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Mm yeah, I know, I'll never I'm I think it
is cinnamon. I do agree that that's the it flavor.
I can smell that and think, oh, you know, pumpkin
patch or just like fall and leaves and all of
the things.

Speaker 3 (18:50):
That's Christmas to me. Okay, all right, what do you think?

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Do you agree with the survey that pumpkin spice is
no longer the king of flavor of all?

Speaker 6 (19:01):
Or uh?

Speaker 2 (19:02):
Do you disagree? Eight six six nine two seven four
three six one. We are going to get to your
calls a little bit later in the show, but first,
another one of your crazy first date stories coming up next.
Sam in Annapolis met her very own doctor Mick Dreamy
right before she went into surgery, but was he able
to resuscitate her love life. You'll find out as Toby

(19:24):
and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety seven point
one flash Ff.

Speaker 1 (19:29):
It's Toby and Chilli's crazy first day.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
Sam in Annapolis. Go ahead, the floor is yours. How
did you meet and what happened?

Speaker 5 (19:37):
So I was in the hospital waiting to have surgery,
and so I was scrolling through the dating act Fumble
and I saw this really handsome guy. We started chatting.
I told him I was getting ready to have surgery.
He's in the medical field, so he was telling me,
you know, kind of how recovery's going to go and
how I can recover faster. So he followed up and
asked how the surgery went, and I said it went well.

(19:58):
He said, you just need to walk get the n
fish out and I said, well, take me out to dinner.
And so he took me out to dinner a couple
of days after the surgery, and she's helping me up
out of my seat. He's helping me go to the
breastroom like he was very sweet, helped me to my car,
and he was just such a gentleman. Then the next
day we went out on his boat and we went
for a boat ride and you had this full spread

(20:20):
of a buffet on his boat.

Speaker 4 (20:21):
It was so nice.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
So this guy helped you through recovery, but also was
very chivalrous and very romantic on that first and even
second d Were you impressed enough to keep going out
with him?

Speaker 5 (20:36):
I mean, the guy was so good I decided to
marry him and have his children.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
Oh, you got yourself your very own doctor McDreamy. I did.

Speaker 5 (20:46):
And he's so handsome and he's so sweet.

Speaker 3 (20:49):
And has he been taking care of you ever since.

Speaker 5 (20:51):
I'm having some health issues right now. He's been by
my side, supporting me, taking care of me. So he's
just been a big blessing.

Speaker 2 (20:59):
For me and my I love that he's proven to
you more than once. It is in sickness and in health. Indeed, absolutely,
And we hope that you guys can take some time,
maybe get some babysitters or whatever, because we would love
to send you on a date night to go see
Pitbull at Jiffy Lube Live August twenty first, thanks to
our friends at Live Nation.

Speaker 5 (21:19):
That would be incredible. My birthday is on Wednesday, and
his birthday is on Sunday.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
Good timing.

Speaker 2 (21:24):
Share everything, and if you for some reason feel under
the weather, We're sure the doctor can prescribe you something
to get through the concert. Absolutely, And if you want
to be like Sam and see Pitbull at Jiffy Lube Live, well,
we've got another pair of tickets for you. If you've
got a crazy first date story to share, so call

(21:45):
us right now eight six six nine two seven four
three six one, and if we share that story Thursday morning,
right around seven forty, you win. Coming up in just
a few minutes, we are going to get you all
the headlines of the news in Toby and Chilli's Top
Stories on ninety seven point one wash FM.

Speaker 1 (22:05):
Top Stories Top of the Hour.

Speaker 2 (22:07):

Sunday at former President Trump's campaign office in Ashburn. They've
got surveillance video that shows the suspect inside the office
wearing dark clothing, a dark cap, and a backpack, and

that more than twenty people have been victimized so far.
The state's attorney is advising residents to ignore calls from
unknown numbers and also to avoid online pop up ads.

(22:50):
that sold at CVS pharmacies in twelve states. Parago Company
says it's recalled over sixteen thousand cans of store brand
premium infant formula with iron based or iron milk based
powder because they say it contains too much vitamin D
add According to a recent survey, nearly twenty five percent
of American adults have shoplifted, and around one in twenty

(23:12):
have actually done it within the past year. Ninety percent
of recent shoplifters say they do it because of the
current economy, and the most commonly stolen items are food
and non alcoholic drinks. Forecasts for today, It's going to
be another beautiful day, partly cloudy skies. Highs around eighty
five right now, It's sixty three in rest in now.

(23:33):
Earlier in the show, we share that sixty percent of
people believe there are better fall flavors than pumpkin spice.
Do you agree So what flavor or cent do you
think best represents the fall season? Eight sixty six nine
two seven four three sixty one. If you want to
get in on the conversation and we'll get to your calls.
As Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety

(23:56):
seven point one Flash FM, survey says pumpkin spice might
be getting a little stale. It's Toby and Chili in
the Morning. On ninety seven point one Wash FM, Toby
Napp is out. I am Chili Amar and a survey
found that fifty two percent of people are kind of
over pumpkin spice and sixty percent think there are better
flavors of fall. Eight six six nine two seven four

(24:18):
three six one is the number if you want to
jump in, or you can also hit the talkback mic
on our iHeartRadio app. Okay, Beverly in Germantown, what do
you think is pumpkin spice out or still in?

Speaker 6 (24:29):
Call me basic, but I am obsessed with everything pumpkin flavored,
pumpkin pie, pumpkin cupcakes, pumpkin pancakes, pumpkin ice cream, you
name it, I love it.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Thanks for the call, Beverly, you sound like our producer
Taylor Shay. She loves all the pumpkin spice, but I
gotta say I think we all jump the pumpkin spice
trend when they came out with pumpkin spice spam. Next up,
we've got Christy and Aldi. What are your thoughts? What
do you think is a good fall flavor?

Speaker 4 (24:59):
I like the he said apple.

Speaker 5 (25:01):
That's the first thing that came to my mind. And
I think apple cider and apple pies and apple crumble
and all the good apple.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
And cinnamon stuff.

Speaker 2 (25:10):
All right, you need to back off that apple situation
because my mouth is wondering.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
I agree with you.

Speaker 1 (25:16):
All right, enjoy one more Toby and Jilly. Head over
to washfm dot com or the iHeartRadio app.
