Toby and Chili Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point
one Washout.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Miles Stone reason I'm feeling good before five o'clock this morning.
Ninety seven point one was Chef m Toby and Chili
in the Morning, Chili, I have to tell you. I said, no,
it'll be there tomorrow. It can wait. And it's the
first time I've ever pushed back against quote authority end
of quote like that, because it was the right thing
(00:25):
to do.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Oh my okay.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Normally I would try to solve a problem, fix a problem,
even if it was a thirty at night and it
had taken an hour of my life. I was like,
I had some technical stuff go wrong. I'm like, you
know what, I'm not gonna be able to fix this
until I call technical support. So I've got a noon
date with technical support.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Oh yay. Should be fun. Little things bring joy. What
about you? Why are you feeling good this morning?
Speaker 4 (00:50):
I'm feeling good because my annual dermatology appointment was yesterday
and she said, okay, well your skin is boring. You're done.
See you next year.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Go to your dermatologist.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
I'm afraid to go to mine because I'm gonna get
yelled at your skin's got some discoloration going on, your
legs not healing. Yeah, well, Chili says, our skin's boring,
and now I want to go to her dermatologist.
Speaker 4 (01:13):
To be clear. I still have milasma, I still have
you know, sun damage or whatever from my teen years.
But there's nothing suspicious on my body. That's what she
meant by boring.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
That's why skin cancer. No, there's nothing from the sun. Hallelujah.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
No growths know nothing. So that's why I'm in a
good mood because even though I do wear sunscream religiously,
there's always a tiny part of me that's like, boy,
you never know what they're gonna find.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
True because we're not, you know, like chemists.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
We don't understand how things like sunscreen impact the body.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
Why are you feeling good this morning?
Speaker 2 (01:50):
Eight six six ninety two, seven forty three sixty one
is the number? Feel free to call check in. Say
how doy, We're Toby and Chili in the morning. Welcome
to a brand new day.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Coming up? Something you might be watching?
Speaker 4 (02:02):
Yeah, So you know how people swipe through videos because
they're bored, Apparently not watching something all the way through.
It just makes it worse when it comes to boredom,
But like, what videos do you always swipe through.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
The ins and outs of all of this coming up
in just minutes and we'll get your take on it.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
To stay with Toby and Chilli in the month.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven point
one watch FM where this morning let's get in to
the videos you're swiping through. Did you know that swiping
through those videos it's not going to cure your boredom,
It's actually making it worse according to research.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yep, true story.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Well, because people are not always watching the entire video.
They want to fast forward to the best part, and
that's actually fragmenting your attention, which does not cure the boredom.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
On top of the fact that being hooked on these
notifications and having to see all of these videos. If
that's not enough, now you've got this that's causing problems.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Oh craziness.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
Is there a video that you swipe through to quote
cure your boredem into quote they're chilling.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
I mean my go to ones are chiropractor videos where
people are getting their backs next cracked. It's so I
don't know, satisfying to watch. And yes I am guilty
of getting to the best part. I don't care about
your backstory of your pain. I want to see the
look of relief on your face.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
What do you have to watch there, Chelsea and silver
Spring things for waking up with this this early morning?
Speaker 4 (03:19):
Oh my god.
Speaker 5 (03:19):
I absolutely love watching any type of qcat videos. I mean,
they are my favorite animal and they just give me
so much joy.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Well, if it's right for you, Chelsea, it's right for you.
Who are you to judge?
Speaker 4 (03:30):
You know, I know you're a big YouTube person, Toby.
I mean, do you digital switch? In other words, do
you not watch a video all the way through?
Speaker 5 (03:39):
No?
Speaker 2 (03:39):
See, the great thing about YouTube is that at the
bottom they have a timeline that shows you where the
most watched parts of the video are at. So I'll
go through all of that and I'll get right to
like the meat of it. But if it takes like
five minutes for me to get to your point of
your video, that's entirely too long and I'm going to
like just totally bounce it, blow it off. So I
(04:01):
will switch. But I'll switch by not switching videos. I'll
switch by going to the timeline.
Speaker 4 (04:06):
Okay, if that makes sense, Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Robert listening to us in Fairfax, Good morning. You have
a favorite video you have to watch?
Speaker 4 (04:13):
Yeah, I like those videos where you see someone see
someone else at the last second, and it always has
David Bowie Starman playing over it. Those give me anxiety,
and some people find joy because I'm like, you know,
they're going to be saved at the last second, but
there's always that possibility. Maybe this time it's not gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
I've developed a theme with these videos. I see some data,
something in the data here. You're damned if you do,
and you're damned if you don't.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
You know, what do you think?
Speaker 2 (04:41):
Eight six six nineteen seven forty three sixty one. If
you're signed into your iHeart app to talk back, microphone
wide open for you too, feel free to jump in
whenever we're Toby and Chilly in the Morning on the
way your morning mindset words to inspire.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
That's next, stay with us.

Toby and Chilly in the Morning. It is ninety seven
point one wash FM. Thank you for taking up with
us on this Thursday, the twenty second day of August.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
And now we're gonna share a quote to hopefully get
you into a good headspace with our morning mindset.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
You might have want some tickets to see this guy
from us because we've been giving them away. Pitbull says,
don't wait for the right opportunity, create it. Don't wait
for the right opportunity, create it. Think about that. I mean,
there's something to be said about not waiting for an invitation.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Create your invitation.
Speaker 2 (05:29):
There's something to be said about not waiting for what
is quote the right end of quote, opportunity when you
can create that opportunity.
Speaker 3 (05:38):
But I'm in a position where I can't. Are you?
Speaker 2 (05:40):
Have you tried do what Pitbull would say to do? Dalli,
don't wait for the right opportunity, create it. Mister Worldwide's
onto something. That's your morning mindset for this Thursday. Keep
those words in mind today if you need them, find
them again. Toby and CHILIPAGEWATCHFM dot com entertainment news coming up, Chili,

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Now we call it Shelvis Buzz Chillia mah, what's going
on today?
Speaker 4 (06:15):
Taylor Swift has put the wraps on the European leg
of her Eras tour, and she finally addressed the cancelation
of three shows in Austria due to terrorist threats, and
she said, I'm not going to speak about something publicly
if I think it's going to do something to provoke
those who want to harm the fans who come to
my shows. And in cases like this, one silence is
actually showing restraint and waiting to express yourself at a
(06:37):
time when it's right to. She said her priority was
finishing the European tour safely, and she said she's relieved
that they were able to do that. So John Legend,
Stevie Wonder Maren Morris were among the musical performers at
the Democratic and National Convention last night. Oprah also made
an appearance, telling the crowd that when Democrats stand together,
it's impossible to be conquered. And then Pink is expected

right around six o'clock for more, It's ninety seven point

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Tim Walls has formerly accepted the vice presidential nomination speaking
at the Democratic National Convention last night. A vice president,
Kamala Harris, by the way, is going to be taking
the stage tonight to accept her party's nomination for president. Meanwhile,
Robert F. Kennedy Junior will reportedly drop out of the
race and support former President Trump. He says he's going
(08:32):
to be addressing America tomorrow and also discussing the present
historical moment and his path forward. Investigators say the husband
of a missing Manassas Park woman has been named a
person of interest in the case. Police searched the home
of twenty eight year old Mom Tabot yesterday. She's been
missing since July thirty first, and police say that her
(08:53):
husband is not cooperating with investigators. Maryland National Capitol Park
Police stepping up patrols Sligo Creek Park after a string
of indecent exposure incidents in the Tacoma Park area. At
least to half a dozen have been reported over the
past three weeks, and that same man is suspected in
(09:13):
each incident. Giant Food is trying a new tactic to
try to reduce theft at six of its DC stores.
So the company is banning children under the age of
eighteen after six pm unless they are accompanied by an adult.
And you better bust out those puffy shirts and get
ready to go medieval, because the Maryland Renaissance Festival opens
(09:35):
this weekend. It's going to take place every Saturday and
Sunday plus Labor Day through October twentieth, and the festival's
home is right off Crownsville Road in Annapolis. Forecast for today,
go out and please enjoy it. Stunning sunny eighty with
low humidity Right now fifty one in Montgomery Village.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Must have been a couple of weeks ago that Taylor
sha our producer, was telling us about a friend who
was coming to town. But the friend of mine, I'd
have been staying too long, was it? Well, the friend
was in town. Taylor is going to tell us how
it all went coming up. Stay with Toby and Chilly
in the morning and you'll learn even more. Not that
long ago, producer Taylor Shay was telling Chilly and I
(10:13):
about a friend who's coming to town. But there was
one problem. Ninety seven point one watch FM with Toby
and Chili in the morning. The friend might have been
overstaying the ones welcome and Taylor did not tell the
friend that this might be happening.
Speaker 4 (10:27):
Well, yeah, I mean she was after the fact, and
she was wondering if four or five days is a
little bit too long for a visit. But we're about
to find out if it was perfect amount of time
or way too much.
Speaker 5 (10:37):
Taylor, it was five days, and I actually wish she
could have stayed longer.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
It was the.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
Best time, trying to cancel her flight and stick around.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
Yeah, she came in for my fortieth birthday, and we
had so much fun. We did the monuments at night,
we did sightseeing in Gettysburg, lots of shopping, we went
to an awesome Nats game. Thank you, joby, You're welcome,
and Yeah, it was great. I really wish she could
have stayed longer. It was like we were back in
high school again. We did Backstreet Boys sing along.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
One of the things that you were concerned about was
like how she would kind of disturb the routine in
your home with the two kids and stuff. Was that
the case?
Speaker 5 (11:13):
No, she actually helped me with my kids, not a little.
I got to shower in peace.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
It was great.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
Yes, little things make a big difference. You should have
kept her in town. It was like having a stay
at home babysitter. Exactly what do they call those nannies? Yeah,
right right, you could put an all pair.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
The only downside would be if she had stayed longer,
would you have felt the need to keep her entertained
and not work you know.
Speaker 6 (11:38):
What I mean?
Speaker 4 (11:38):
Because she sounds like you had a lot on your plate,
like as far as agenda stuff.
Speaker 5 (11:42):
She was So she's the most low maintenance person that's
ever come to visit me in DC, and it was great.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
When's she coming back? Right?
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Do you need some childcare?
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Was telling you you need to call her right now
and tell her to scrap her plane plans and she
needs to stick around for another week that you have
a room available, just like you're an airbnb.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
Yeah. So does this encourage you, though, seriously, to like
either have her come stay with you or other friends
because you haven't really hosted people since having kids.
Speaker 5 (12:07):
I would love for her to come back. Maybe my
brother too.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
But yeah, here's my question for you, and we never
brought this up. What's good for the goose is good
for the ganders. So if your husband, Darren wants to
bring some friends into town, is that cool?
Speaker 5 (12:24):
Probably yeah, because I know most of his friends and
they're cool, so.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
I'd be okay with that.
Speaker 3 (12:28):
So like a week or two, Well, you're one of
his friends.
Speaker 5 (12:31):
Toby, I don't know if you want to stay at
my house for.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Five days, but I'm just down the street. There's Damascus,
then there's Rockville. That doesn't really count.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
Toby and Chilly's nearly impossible question, and the question this
morning would be one.
Speaker 4 (12:48):
In eight of us have worked at this place.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Thanks to Live Nation, tickets to Chicago at the Lyric
in November, up for grabs eight six, six, nine, two,
seven forty three sixty the number.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Here's the question again.
Speaker 4 (13:02):
One in eight of us have worked at this place.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
What is it?
Speaker 2 (13:07):
If you want to go see Chicago at the Lyric
in November? Thank you Live Nation, Call now answer the
question right when it's our nearly impossible question on for
you at eight six, six, nine two, seven forty.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
Three sixty one call now to play and.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
Maybe one Toby and Chilly's nearly impossible question here.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
What is the question again this morning? Please?
Speaker 4 (13:28):
One in eight of us have worked at this place?
What is it?
Speaker 2 (13:31):
Let's say hello to Brendan and Glynnwood. Hey, Brendan, welcome back.
How are you a long time?
Speaker 4 (13:38):
No smell?
Speaker 6 (13:38):
How are you?
Speaker 3 (13:39):
And that's been a while? I know, same smell, different day, yes.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
Yeah, well, same smell here for sure.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
All right you good morning? How are you too good?
Speaker 2 (13:48):
These tickets for Chicago could be yours and you'll be
even better than us if you win.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
What's your guest?
Speaker 7 (13:53):
Nickdonald's, Nicky D's, the Golden Rshists.
Speaker 4 (13:56):
Have you ever worked there?
Speaker 7 (13:57):
I have it.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
My first job is at a car wash.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Did you know anybody who worked in McDonald's.
Speaker 7 (14:01):
My oldest brother did vivid memories of him bringing home
tons of apple pies that he either had to give
away or throw.
Speaker 4 (14:07):
Away, and we were more willing to take them for free.
Speaker 5 (14:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
I learned a lot of secrets from people back in
the day about the way Mickey des does things.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
Oh I don't know if it's a good thing or not.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Oh no, it's a good thing. It's McDonald's. It can't
wait everything, And that's a good guess because that's the answer.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Congratulations and Marilyn Boys going to Chicago. That's awesome.
Speaker 7 (14:27):
Thank you, thank you. I'm really excited.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
I love that band.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
Tickets yours now. Thank you Live Nation for the hookup.
If you want to know more about the show, get
to watch FM dot com.
Speaker 3 (14:35):
Brendan enjoy I.
Speaker 7 (14:36):
Will thank you again and very much appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (14:38):
More tickets tomorrow morning right around this time with another
round of you were nearly a possible question. The news
Top Stories at the top of the hour. That's on
the way around seven, stay right there.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
Top Stories, top of the Hour.
Speaker 4 (14:52):
The Democratic National Convention closed it's third night yesterday with
Tim Walls accepting the vice presidential nomination. Vice president at
Kamala Harris on tap to her talk tonight about her
party's nomination for president. There was a large police presence
last night at the home of m NASA's Park mother
(15:13):
that has been missing for three weeks now. Police a
twenty eight year old mom. Tabot's husband has been named
a person of interest and he is reportedly not cooperating
with police. DC police looking for at least one suspect
who broke through a wall and took thousands of dollars
in jewelry from Les Liqueur in Adams Morgan. Surveillance shows
(15:34):
a suspect with a crowbar breaking through a wall that
the store shares with another business. The DC government has
hired a company to explore the feasibility of redeveloping the
former RFK Stadium site in order to relocate the commanders
into the district. Of those, she'll say that the return
of the team could add billions of dollars to the
city's economy. And according to a recent survey, twenty seven
(15:57):
percent of Americans feel that their life is a little
and that may be why the average American fantasizes about
going on an adventure four times every day. The poll
finds a perfect length for an adventure is six days,
and forty two is the perfect age to take one.
Forecast for today beautiful, lots of sun, highs around eighty
(16:19):
right now fifty three in Centerville.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
It's seven oh five.
Speaker 2 (16:23):
Eight thirty six is the time when the average person
knows if their day has been ruined? Would you say
this applies to you? Eight six six nine two seven
forty three sixty one talk back wide open too. If
you're signed into your iHeart app, Tap speaks. Send us
a message that way by tapping that microphone. Tell us
what's a sign that your day isn't going so well.
(16:44):
I'm sure it's different for Chili than it is for me,
probably different for you than it is for us.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
So let's talk about it.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Coming up next ninety seven point one watch FM Toby
and chilli in the morning. Study finds has a survey
this morning. The headline average person knows the third day's
it's been ruined by eight thirty six in the morning.
Look at the time it's seven twenty. You have about
an hour. What's most striking in this is it twenty
six percent of the people that they talk to say
(17:11):
that when something goes wrong in the morning, the rest
of the day is lost or seems lost.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
It does seem because it's like a snowball effecture falls
for you. It depends today already. I mean, it's been
a bad day. I was like a two forty five
this morning. I couldn't log into the computer. Like anytime
there's a tech issue that kind of derails my day
for me because it gets you off your rhythm of
the day. Do you know what I mean? Sure? And
what about for you, like, what is something that would
happen It could happen that would derail your day.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
To your point about routines and things being kind of
out of kilter, I have a routine in the morning. Yes,
some of that stuff people have thrown on the wall
actually stuck, and I kind of leave my keys, my
wallet and anything that I need to leave the house
with in the same place every day, and when I
don't leave it in the same place rows me off
all morning because.
Speaker 3 (18:01):
I don't know where it is.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
I can't track it, I can't find my wallet, can't
find my car key.
Speaker 3 (18:06):
Makes me feel some sort of way.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Yeah. Do you know that we have bad days like
four times a month? Does that seem high or about
right for you? Four days a month having poo poo days?
You're thinking four.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
Is on the very conservative side. Oh yeah, because I
mean we get up very early in the mornings, and
there's a whole lot of things that can go wrong
that early in the morning. To your point about tech issues,
there's nobody from tech support available that can help you
banks start up in twenty four hours if I need
to go to posits something.
Speaker 4 (18:37):
Yeah, and well, the number one answer being waking up
feeling sick. That's also a thing that could happen when
you start your day this yea.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
Yeah, And sometimes you got to just push through and
motor through it. I trust me. You don't know what
happens when the microphones are off in this studio. Sometimes
sleeping badly through the night made the list. Waking up
with a headache, Losing your keys is on the list,
and then leaving your phone at home. How many times
have we had in the past who had to run
back to their house to get their phone because hey,
I've had to do it. It happens, right, anything that
(19:06):
goes bad during the day that could ruin it for you.
Eight six six nine, seven forty three sixty one eight
six six was CHEFM the number one and the talkback
microphone is open to it for those of you who
are signed into gra Heart app. If you want to
use it, tap the microphone, send us a message and
tell us how much bad luck does it take to
ruin your day? What's something that's gone wrong that can
read you, that can derail everything, that has derailed everything
(19:28):
for you? We'll talk about it again coming up after
eight with Toby and Chilly in the morning. Next another
one of your crazy first date stories. Darby's going to
join us.
Speaker 4 (19:37):
Yeah, she lives in falls Church and her first date
showed up so unprepared for their plan.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
Very unprepared. So what happened is a result you'll find out.
Speaker 1 (19:48):
It's Toby and Chilli.
Speaker 2 (19:49):
It's crazy first date Darby, Good morning and welcome Chilian
I can't wait to hear this crazy first date story.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
You've got to lay it on us.
Speaker 7 (19:58):
Go about twelve years ago, I was just having no
luck with finding anybody to date or anything. And I
was actually kind of young, so that's understandable. I tried
a new dating website. I think it's Tinder. I think
that's why. When it first came out, and I was
talking to several guys and they all seemed okay, And
then there was this one guy that seemed pretty cool
(20:19):
and we talked a lot and he shared the same
music we liked, and saying TV shows I like. He
asked me out a couple days later on a bowling date.
I said yes, And when he came and got me,
he seems really cool, very polite, very nice. His car
was clean. We got to the bowling alley for talking
(20:41):
still and bat and everything, and we get to the
guy that's given us our shoes and stuff, and we
tell them our sizes, and then when it comes time
to pay and they tell us the price, he turns
to me and he goes I didn't bring any money
with me. Well, luckily I had my wallet with me,
so I ended up paying, but thinking in my head.
I was like, you're the one that asked me out
(21:02):
and you didn't bring money. Okay, this is starting off strange.
Now we started playing. It was weird at first, and
then when we got to talking again and everything seemed fun.
We were having fun. And then on the way home
we started talking again and I asked him about his interest.
He did nothing but work. He had no other interest.
And then when it came down to the music and
(21:24):
the TV shows that we talked about earlier, he just
was He didn't really listen to the music very much,
he didn't watch the TV shows very much. He didn't
not really know what I was talking about. And from
there it just got awkward.
Speaker 4 (21:35):
So he was just faking liking those things for a
chance to see you in person and hope to win
