Masha them feeling good before five Toby and Chilly in
the morning on this Friday. Obviously, we're all feeling good
because holiday weekend, unless, of course, you're working this holiday weekend,
in which case, thank you for what you do. You know, Chili,
you've been married for a while, You've talked about your
husband being your second half. I will tell you that
I am feeling good before five o'clock this morning because

(00:24):
my significant other is better.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
Than I am in every way that I'm not good,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
You just realize this now, No, I've known it for
a while. But it's just, you know, her attention to detail.
Some people think it's nagging, but in reality, it's just
making sure we're buttoned up on.

Speaker 3 (00:43):
Whatever we choose to do.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
And yeah, it's in relation to the holiday weekend and
having a backup plan and making sure that the backup
plan is something we can do with the dogs and
we well, let's just say, there could be a very
cool story on Tuesday, regardless of what we end up doing.
And I know we talked about going to the US Open,
but Chi ching I don't make that Beyonce money or

(01:05):
they just get me on money.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
So if that doesn't.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Happen, Yeah, she's got her finger on the pulse of
something that could be very cool. So I'm feeling good
because I'm unequally yoked and she's better than I am
at everything.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
What about you? This morning?

Speaker 1 (01:21):
I'm tickled that I got rickrolled by the radio station.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Oh really.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
I get in the car and I turn on the
radio and it was Rick Astley, He's never gonna give
you up? And I literally laughed out loud.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Oh well, we're.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Supposed to be doing other things right now, let's play
some more ghastly everybody.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
I just it was just I don't know, I just
I thought I just started laughing. I'm like, it's a
good way to start a holiday weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Yeah, the the yeah, and nefarious rick roll everybody. You're
gonna hear a lot of rick rolling happening here on
ninety seven point one. Wash up, n this Best of
the Eighties weekend for the holiday.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
By the way, that Best of the Eighties starts at
two o'clock today instead of the regular five o'clock, so
maybe you two will get rickrolled.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
That's right. Multiple times, multiple times.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Alrighty well know Rick Rolling acknowledging the people who are
better at things than we are. This morning, we all
feel good Before five, it's ninety seven point one wash FM.
Let's get into this holiday weekend, shall we? Coming up next,
as Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues.

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Yesterday we found out that America's Got Talent was the
best reality TV show. But is there a moment of
reality TV that sticks out for you?

Speaker 2 (02:24):
We'll talk coming up if you want to jump in
eight six six nine two, seven forty three, sixteen one.
Let's talk about reality TV this morning. It's ninety seven
point one wash CHEFM. Eight sixty six nine two, seven
forty three sixty one is the number to get involved
in the talkback microphones wide open if you're signed into
your iHeart app. Toby and Chilly in the Morning at
ninety seven point one wash CHEFM. They did some research

(02:46):
and they found that AGT is America's favorite reality TV show,
America's Got Talent. Ladies and gentlemen, We're smitten by Howie Mandel.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
We're all the talent in the United States.

Speaker 3 (02:57):
Yes, Number two is American Idol.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Yeah, I'm kind of surprised Idol isn't the first one,
because I feel like Idol has given us so many
more viral moments, if that makes any sense.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Yeah, I feel like Idol is the one that kind
of well, I shouldn't say that, because Survivors actually the
one that came along first to do it right. Idol
kind of made reality TV super popular as a genre.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
Yeah, so you bring up Survivor for me, like one
of the most memorable, you know, moments in a show
like that. It is like Richard Hatch the first season.
He was a contestant and forming an alliance and he
played that so well. Can you think of a reality
show moment?

Speaker 2 (03:35):
Yeah, I fell in love with the Bachelor when Andy Firestone,
so this must have been like season two.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
I just thought it was amazing.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
This dude was from the Firestone tire family and he
had his own wine and all these beautiful people were
throwing themselves at him. I was so jealous of that
man back in the day, Back in the day. What
about you, Robert, thank you for waking up with us
in Shirlington today. Go ahead, your favorite reality TV show

(04:04):
moment one that you still think about.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Go ahead, I know this was a long time ago.

Speaker 2 (04:08):
But when William Hung saying she bangs on American Idol,
that was seriously iconic. It was really a moment in
time that has been a reality TV show hall of fame.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
She bangs, Oh, she bangs, and she moves, she moves.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Thanks for jumping into the conversation this morning, William Hung Chill.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
He sort of changed the whole game in a way
after that. I think they sort of backed off on
making fun of contestants who clearly didn't have well, it's.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
Kind to me.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
It was kind of mean, and Idol didn't want to
be known as mean, and that was when they were
on Fox. Now that Idols are part of Disney, the
last thing Mickey Mouse wants is for anybody on Idol
to be mean. But anyway, if you've got a reality
TV show moment that you still think about, that still
pops into your mind, we would love to hear what
it is from you. Eight six six wash FM, the

(04:54):
number one eighty six six ninety seven forty three sixty one,

(05:15):
of your Morning Mindset with Toby and Chilly in the
Morning ninety seven point one.

Speaker 3 (05:18):
Watch FM.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
In case that fact isn't enough to get you to
a good headspace, what is the quote for everybody?

Speaker 3 (05:25):
Monday's a holiday. That's all.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Enjoy your weekend kids, No, I'm just kidding. Sheryl Sandberg,
who you might recognize the name she had a lot
to do with Meta, was a CFO says, if you're
offered a seat on a rocket ship, don't ask what seat,
Just get on. If you're offered a seat on a
rocket ship, don't ask what seat, just get on. I mean,
you have one chance, one shot, one opportunity to join

(05:50):
something that is going to revolutionize things. Do you really
want to nitpick where you're gonna sit? Didn't think So
keep that in mind and buck as we get into
the holiday weekend. All right, and that's your Morning Mindset.

Speaker 2 (09:48):
Toby and Chilly in the morning, six oh five in
the Nation's capital. You know, the Smithsonian is just one
of the many beacons of history at Americana located in
the district, and there are people people who oftentimes try
to donate very what's the right word, bizarre, bizarre things
to the Smithsonian. We've got a list of some of

(10:10):
those bizarre things, and we might want to hear what
you perhaps would want to donate, two said Smithsonian. No
right answer, no wrong answer, just answers. And we'll get
into this coming up as Toby and Chilly in the
Morning continues on this Friday before holiday weekend.

Speaker 3 (10:25):
Saw this floating around the internet. And by the way,
if you've got thoughts, eight sixty.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
Six nine two seven forty three sixty one is the
number here at ninety seven point one.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Watch FM Toby and Chilly in the morning.

Speaker 2 (10:34):
A list of odd donations people have tried to make
to the Smithsonian Institution. And by the way, if you
work at the Smithsonian and you want to like shoot
holes in this, feel free to do so. Or if
you can be like, oh, that's the tip of the iceberg,
wouldn't mind hearing from you. So here's a list, Chilly
is some of the stuff that people have tried to
donate to the Smithsonian for whatever reason. Somebody tried to
give a live b colony once upon a time to

(10:57):
the Smithsonian because you know bees.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
Well, they were trying to contribute a hive, a buzzing
hive to a collection, right, because people really want to
go to a museum for that.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
But right, right, right, giant potato chip collections. No thanks,
just you can just hear the sarcasm dripping from my voice.

Speaker 3 (11:18):
Vintage Stev's from the fifties.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Now, I could see that, because the Golden Age of
television really did help to change culture. That would be
interesting to So that would be oh man, remember people
paid that much money for that thing that takes up
half of a wall at a house.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
A collection of refrigerator magnets and a trained praying mantis.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
Oh okay, I don't know who has the time to tray.

Speaker 2 (11:40):
I barely have time to train a puppy, yeah right,
but alone a praying mantis. But anyway, is there anything
that you have that you would try to donate to
the Smithsonian? That's a bit odd there, Chili.

Speaker 1 (11:49):
I literally just thought of it this second. McDonald's many
of the years ago used to have a collection of plates,
the plastic plates. I still have a bunch of them.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Oh remember it was like one.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
For every season. Donado still eats off of my hand.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
You know what's crazy you bring that up? You know?

Speaker 2 (12:06):
I used to get so poopy pants as a kid
back when we were kids. Yes, when my mom would
wash those like in the dishwasher and then the graphics
would go.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Great.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
And I also have some glasses glassware that we would
get at gas stations as part of McDonald's promotion.

Speaker 3 (12:25):
Very very very parents, the ones who bought that stuff.

Speaker 2 (12:28):
Yeah, because that sounds like your dad and my dad
would get along greaty. What about you do you that'll
still go get the salina glasses from a place called
Stripes in Texas? For me, it would be like my
collection of vintage BlackBerry Personal Digital Assistant communicators.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Oh god, yeah, this back before the iPhone.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Those synced in with your email, your work email, your
life email. They had a really crappy web browser on them,
but at least it was something, and I had the
latest and greatest of everyone is soon as it came out,
and I think I still have them, which is either
a collection or it's just hoarding. Probably a little bit

(13:08):
of both. But I would try to donate that to
the Smithsonian. Is there something you would donate? Eight six
six wash up from the number one eight six six
ninety seven forty three sixty one. That is the number.
In the meantime, we would like to donate something to you.

Speaker 1 (13:22):
Kelby and Chilli's nearly impossible.

Speaker 2 (13:24):

Speaker 3 (14:12):
Refrigerator doors?

Speaker 2 (14:14):
That's a very very unique, random kind of a guess
and answer to a question.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Why would you think that?

Speaker 2 (14:21):
Because you need a snack and got the eating that
would be the right answer the refrigerator door. Congratulations, you
must snack off it.

Speaker 1 (14:30):

I heard your son had a little bit of dental
drama yesterday, Chili, what's going on?

Speaker 3 (16:44):
On going?

Speaker 1 (16:45):
We still haven't resolved the problem, but there was a
silver lining.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
Stay there.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
You're gonna have to tell us all about this because
if there's any one thing, we all know, kids plus
dentists dentists equals oh no, find out what went down next?
Soy Itilli in the morning ninety seven point one, wat
Chef m. Your son Denado Tilli had some dental drama yesterday.

Speaker 3 (17:08):
What's going on give us a quick backstore.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
For over a year we've been trying to find the
right dentist to pull out his baby teeth because he
has two adult ones growing in the back. But it's
it's just a whole thing, like he can't be sedated,
the laughing gas doesn't work, and needles are a no.
So yesterday was one of our attempts and it was
a failure again, but there was a silver lining. We

(17:31):
met a little girl in the lobby beforehand who was
going in for cleaning, and they made friends really And
when he went in first, he was screaming so badly
hm that she felt compelled to write him a little
encouraging note.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Here's my phone number. I'm available for a date this weekend.
Oh wait a minute, they're ten. Never mind, my bad,
that's way too young.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
No, but she handed me a note and she said,
can you please give this to him? And the note said,
I know it's scary to do things that are scary,
but that's how you overcome your fear up. I mean, now,
the note didn't work, I mean we ended up leaving
without getting teeth pulled, but you know what, and at
least restored my faith in humanity, that there are other people.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Who care the teeth are still there. He screamed, bloody murder.
But you know what, yes, humanity, faith in humanity restored
from that little nine year old girl who did not
picked up at the.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
Dentist's office like it's a bar or something.

Speaker 2 (18:24):
Can I get the name of your dentists, by the way,
because I'm due for a cleaning and I am prone
to screaming, NATting and wailing, and I would like to
know if maybe I can go to your dentist and
get a nine year old girl to write me a
note that'll calm me down in your yas.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
It's not gonna work.

Speaker 2 (18:37):
Sorry, Well, I hope that everything continues to work out.

Speaker 3 (18:41):
I hope it inspires him.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
Where Toby and Chilly in the morning, It is ninety
seven point one, washief and stay with us. Coming up
in just a few minutes, let's talk about movies. What
is the best genre of.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
Movie for you?

Speaker 2 (18:54):
Would it be a horror, rom comms, drama, action, sci fi?

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Think of that.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
You know the number to the place. We'll talk about
it coming up. Do you ever wonder why you might
be all in on a certain genre of movie and
maybe your friend that's there seeing the movie with you
can't really stand it and doesn't want to sit through it.
Toby and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven point
one wash FM in Germany. They did some research and
they found that what is on the screen lights up

(19:21):
your brain in different ways. It causes you to have
a mental neurological response, as it were, which means no
wonder on board by romantic comedy movies. They're chili Why
because there's nothing stimulating about them.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
It puts my brain to sleep. Yes, what about You?

Speaker 2 (19:41):
It's a genre of movie for you that causes you
to feel stimulated in alive.

Speaker 1 (19:45):
No doubt it's going to be a psychological thriller or
true crime documentary because I love to try to guess
who done it and try to figure it out before
it ends.

Speaker 2 (19:54):
Yes, that makes sense too, because it's very stimulating because
you're thinking like, hmmm, who done it?

Speaker 1 (19:59):
I feel like I'm part of it.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Why they do it? That person looks just eve.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
I'm an outside detective looking in What about you?

Speaker 2 (20:07):
Like?

Speaker 1 (20:07):
What do you love? Well?

Speaker 2 (20:08):
You know that for me, if there was one prototype
movie that I would love, it would be action plus
sci fi. So I'm thinking the jj Abrams version of
Star Trek, not to be compared with other versions of
Star Trek.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
Jj Abrams, action, Lynz Flair, and some science fiction.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
Makes my mind go.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
Oh okay, you make a good argument for that being
your favorite genres.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
Anybody have a favorite? What does it do for your brain?
