Toby and Chili Mornings on Demand on ninety seven point
one wash them.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Why are you feeling good on this Friday? Because you've
made it to the end of the week. Ninety seven
point one wash FM Toby and Chilly in the morning.
I can tell you yesterday it was a random food truck.
I wasn't planning on coming to say audios to a friend,
a colleague who's transferring to New York to work for
our company. But to say goodbye to her, they brought
out the trippy Taco's food truck. And you know what,
(00:27):
proper food trucks need not be passed by. Those were
some of the best notchers I've had in a minute?
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Is that what you had instead of tacas?
Speaker 4 (00:34):
I did?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Came rolled right up on them and I said, I
need your nacho. I even brought the dog. I wasn't
planning uncoming. We were at the dog park and then
rolled up on it. It was so good. Little things
like that bring joy. Now, what's what's making you feel
good before five this morning?
Speaker 5 (00:51):
Ah? Well, you know, the first day of fall is
on Sunday, and I started the physical transformation for the season.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
When you say physical transformation, do you mean you're preparing
for the colder weather by I don't know, preparing yourself
for a long winter and a hibernation kind.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
Of a thing.
Speaker 5 (01:09):
No, no, no, like darker hair color. I'm going to
start wearing darker nail polish. These are the things that
start to and the clothes will start to transition to
more earth toe.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Yeah, you know what I'm the first time, I'm like, yeah,
your hair is dark. My mom used to call those
when I was a kid, like fall in winter colors. Yeah, like,
I guess they have colors for different seasons that work
according to a palette. Correct, that's definitely a lot darker.
There are no highlights in your hair, not right now.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
No, but this is my real hair color.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
So these are your fall colors.
Speaker 5 (01:41):
This is my roots. This is going back to my roots.
But yeah, so the transition has begun.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
Well, I would say getting your hair did.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
If I had hair, that would be like an excuse
to say I had a good day.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
I don't know what that's like. But it looks good.
That looks really good.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
If you want to see Chili's hair, I'm sure we've
got pictures on the Tooby and Chili page at WASHFM.
Dot com or media and stuff like that. Let's get
into Friday. Weirdest thing you've seen in a wedding. Maybe
you've got a wedding that you're going to this weekend.
Speaker 5 (02:07):
There's a wedding that wanted guests to bring their own desserts. Yeah,
that's crazy, that's yeah. But is that the weirdest thing
you've seen? Eight six six ninety two, seven forty three
sixty one. Phones are open, operators are standing by. It's
Friday at EC.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Let's go it's the weirdest thing you've ever seen at
a wedding. Eight six six nine two seven forty three
sixty one. Let's talk about it early this morning. You're
at ninety seven point one WATCHFM. So we don't throw
ourselves under the bus at some of the weirdness we've
seen at weddings. Here with Toby and Chilly in the morning,
I don't really want to judge, but I've seen some interesting,
interesting things when it comes to like going right from
(02:44):
the ceremony to the same room that you were in,
the same table you were at, becoming the place where
you have your post ceremony dinner, if that makes sense.
So they literally like while you're sitting there commitsing or
going to get drinks. They flip the script on it
and it's where you said during the weddings, where you're
gonna sit during your meal.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
I thought that was odd.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
That is odd.
Speaker 5 (03:04):
I mean I almost prefer that to having like a
five or six hour gap between the ceremony and the reception.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Weirdest thing you've seen at yours? Or did you have
anything at your wedding to your husband that people thought
was weird?
Speaker 5 (03:14):
No, we kept it pretty traditional. But I did see
that story yesterday where this woman was complaining that at
a black tie wedding they wanted their guests to bring
a dessert to the wedding. See that's I don't want
my guests to have to do anything that's.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Leaven too much to chance, honestly, because you don't know
what some of these people might be bringing.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Hey, look at that Rice Crispy treats. Forever youone, right?
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Yep? Oh that took you a lot of time.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Yeah, well those are oreos what Regina and Oxen Hill,
good morning.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
Weirdest thing you've seen in a wedding?
Speaker 6 (03:42):
The weirdest thing I ever seen in a wedding was
actually at my own sisters. Her husband rode down the
aisle on top of a horse holding a sword, and
once he got to the end.
Speaker 5 (03:52):
He used the sword to pop open a.
Speaker 6 (03:53):
Champagne bottle to give all the guests. It was definitely weird,
but it was actually.
Speaker 5 (03:58):
Kind of cool because he's her Night is Shining Armor.
Speaker 2 (04:02):
I was going to say something about a Renaissance fair,
but I'll go with the Night in Shining Armor. I
thing that sounds like that's good this morning, Toby A
Chilly in the morning at eight sixty six nine two
seven forty three sixty one Mike listening in Kensington.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
Weirdest thing you've seen it a wedding.
Speaker 6 (04:16):
I went to a wedding where the bride and groom
had everybody attending stand up and say something nice about them.
It was super awkward and took forever.
Speaker 4 (04:25):
The church had like eighty people in it.
Speaker 1 (04:27):
I was so annoyed.
Speaker 5 (04:28):
That's going to be awkward if you're the plus one
and really don't know the couple that well.
Speaker 4 (04:32):
Yeah, what do you say.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
I'm just here for the free food and the dessert,
the oreos that somebody brought.
Speaker 4 (04:38):
That's right right on.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Weird stuff you've seen it a wedding, maybe you heard
something weird.
Speaker 4 (04:43):
Tell us all about it.
Speaker 2 (04:44):
Talkback, microphone wide open, you're signed into your app. Press
the microphone with the circle around it. Tell us your stories.

With a quote, I'm this for you from Walt Whitman,
who says, keep your face always towards the sunshine, and
the shadows will fall behind you. Keep your face always
towards the sunshine, and the shadows will fall behind you.
And the other thing that's good about keeping your face
with the sunshin or sunshine, is that sometimes that sun glare, it,
(05:33):
like you know, blinds everything out that might have been
distracting you. So all you have to do is worry
about going forward the other stuff that's behind you. Just
know where you're looking, you know, what I mean, keep
your face toward the sun. Walt Whitman Man can write,
thank you Walt for inspiring on this Friday morning. That
is your morning mindset for today. It's ninety seven point one,

Students were waiting on Livingston Road when suspects approached, taking
some of their belongings and then firing a shot into
the air before leaving, and thankfully nobody was hurt. Metro's
pushed to install those new fairgate doors at every single
one of its ninety eight stations as a deterrent to
fair evaders is finally complete. The transit service was reportedly

losing about forty million dollars a year to those fair evaders,

it exists, We've talked about it. Before it's in Rochester,
New York. But who's on the list to be enshrined
in the hall you'll find out and a few and
of course we love hearing what you have to say.

Speaker 2 (10:26):
Any conversation we're having at eighty six, six, nine, twenty seven,
forty three, sixty one Toby and Chilly in the Morning
in ninety seven point one Wash FM, the Strong National Toy.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
Of Fame in Rochester.
Speaker 2 (10:37):
I guess announced this week that they've got twelve finalists
for induction into the Toy Hall of Fame.
Speaker 5 (10:44):
Riden of the twelve, only three we'll make it in
and you know, any one of us can vote between
now and September twenty fifth.
Speaker 2 (10:52):
Twelve finalists. Some of the highlights something called Apples to Apples,
I guess. It's a game Balloons Choose your own adventure
game book. The s Truck, the toy truck that Santa
brings my little pony, Pokemon cards, RC vehicles, stick horses, trampolines,
and transformers more than me got.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Sorry, which three stick out for you?
Speaker 6 (11:15):
Then?
Speaker 4 (11:16):
Transformers, the stick horse.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
And in inaudible, I would say RC vehicles, You know what.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
The RC vehicles and the Transformers I think are two
really good ones. Instead of that stick horse, I'd put
into my Little Pony because I mean that sort of
stood the test of time. It's been around for a
long time.
Speaker 4 (11:35):
Yes, that is a very vintage toy.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
And sometimes, from what I've learned on the what's it
called one of these shows on Netflix, those vintage my
Little Ponies are worth some money. I can tell you
what doesn't belong on this list.
Speaker 5 (11:45):
Yeah, I know what you're gonna say, balloons or trampoline.
Speaker 4 (11:49):
Trampoline that's not a toy. That's a thing for the backyard.
Speaker 5 (11:52):
It's always one every year that doesn't belong. Like last year,
you know what was inducted baseball cards into the Toy
Hall of Fame. I don't see anywhere where a baseball
card should be considered it.
Speaker 2 (12:02):
No, they're not toys. They're commodities, much like Pokemon. Although
people make games out of Pokemon cards, their commodities. I
don't know that they need to be in the Toy
Hall of Fame. Certainly not a balloon that I can buy.
A party city if you.
Speaker 5 (12:15):
Wanted to vote, though, the website is Museum of Play
dot org.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
Yep, and you have till September twenty fifth to go vote,
So if you need the link. Toby and chilipage washefm
dot com? You're good at the answering some questions. Well,
we'd like to learn something this morning. You want to help.
Speaker 1 (12:28):

Speaker 5 (13:33):

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Oh no, it's not you, it's me. It's me trying
to figure out how to say. You've got the question
from Chili if you're playing for the Best of Nova
event passes at the Crystal View Events Center October tenth.
Now that I've managed to muddle my way through saying that.
Speaker 4 (13:53):

Speaker 2 (14:09):
Are they obsessed with YouTube so much so that you,
as their counsel of record, might be a little concerned
at some of their viewing habits.
Speaker 5 (14:17):
Only court put off watching?
Speaker 4 (14:20):
Yeah, right, like, why are you bringing your phone into court?
I'm trying to get you off of some sort of something. Well, counselor.
Speaker 2 (14:27):
Congratulations YouTube video.
Speaker 5 (14:30):
Yeah, YouTube video is the right answer. You're going to
the best of Nova event. Beautiful. Thank you.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
I want to hear from you this morning at eight

when you tap the talk back microphone, the mic with
a circle around it, if you're sending into your iHeart up,
you could see it if you have career fomo research out,
I guess they found that nearly half of British people
and the same could be a said about Americans suffer
in silence with career fomo because they're not brave enough
(17:12):
to leave their jobs. Two in five workers are suffering
from this fear of missing out when it comes to
the career. Are you call us now? Let's talk about
it coming up next, got to know what you think

comes right here to us in the studio Toby Napatilliam
(17:36):
are Toby and Chillian in the Morning at ninety seven
point one washef in? The headline says nearly half of
people suffer in silence with career fomo because they're not
brave enough to leave their jobs.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
According to research.
Speaker 2 (17:48):
This is kind of an interesting and I almost want
to say indictment because it sounds like an indictment. But
is it an indictment? Would you say that career fomo
is a thing chilling?
Speaker 5 (17:57):
I think there are a lot of people that think
about a job opportunity they regret not taking because the
current situation is making them unhappy. Do you personally no, thankfully,
Because we spend so much time at work, I would
hate to wonder, oh maybe I should have taken that
other job off. Or have you ever been in a
position like that where you regretted not saying yes to something?
Speaker 4 (18:19):
No? No, no, not at all.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
And I know that sometimes I can be a pain
in your behind and sometimes I probably make you wiste
you could have slept in but I'm hoping that I'm
not causing you to have the fomo about taking some
other job or going some other place, because that's not
the case for me. But what I have had not fomo.
But I've wondered what if, because I think it's curiosity,
You're like, what if I did do this?
Speaker 4 (18:40):
Or what if I did?
Speaker 2 (18:42):
And it doesn't even have to apply just to work.
It could apply to a relationship life. What if I
moved to that one house? What if I would have?
You know, so you want have a career?
Speaker 3 (18:50):
What if more than a career regret?
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Yeah, and I and I would say that I'm pretty
happy overall with the way those choices have panned out,
because not knowing is what the result of the other
side would be, right.
Speaker 5 (19:04):
I wonder though, if there are people who have specific
examples of something they said no to that still just
kind of is right there in the back of their
heads chirping at them.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
Yeah no, and mean, so you've heard from Chili and I.
We don't really have that. Chili doesn't I have the
what IFFs? But it's not really a fomo sort of
a situation, Okay you eight six six ninet two seven
forty three sixty one. You can call eight six six
wash up from the number one, or you can have
to talk back microphone.
Speaker 4 (19:30):
Tell us do you have the career fomo? Why? Why not?
What goes into it? Call now, we'll talk about this coming.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
Up in just a Turvey says nearly half of people
suffer in silence with something called career fomo because they're
not brave enough to leave their jobs.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
Well, it's just sweeping to even think you're not brave.
That's why you have fomo.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Okay, eight six six ninet two seven forty three sixty one.
If you've got thoughts to share with us, talkback microphones
also open. Just a quick take on this whole phone
thing for those who might have missed it.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
We're wondering if there was a job opportunity that you
actually were given but said no to.
Speaker 2 (20:07):
There goes Mark in DC. Good morning Mark.
Speaker 6 (20:11):
A bunch of years ago, I auditioned for a play and.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Actually thought it that's awesome.
Speaker 6 (20:16):
I didn't end up doing it because the rehearsals conflicted
with my work schedule.
Speaker 2 (20:21):
See that's that whole what if thing I was alluding
too earlier.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
I regret not taking that one.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
Well that's right, because you could have been a Broadway
star right now.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
But no, you threw away your shut exactly and your
world did not turn upside down now in Alexandria, good morning, Danielle.
Speaker 7 (20:39):
I once had the chance to join a small, fast
growing text startup, but I turned it down because I
was nervous about leaving the stability of my current job.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
And what's your regret?
Speaker 1 (20:49):
Looking back?
Speaker 7 (20:50):
I sometimes wonder what kind of growth an experience that
might have gained if I had taken that leap.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
Danielle and Alexandria, thank you.
Speaker 5 (20:58):
You know those startup things, startup ones especially, they fizzle
pretty fast too.
Speaker 3 (21:03):
You never know. You could have been unemployed for a
while if I were Danielle.
Speaker 4 (21:06):
And Danielle, I hope you don't mind me saying this.
I'm not rubbing it in, but my regret would.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
Have been stock options, because I would have wanted to
be one of those stories about those people who left
and went to join Google early on, then a text startup.
Speaker 4 (21:17):
Now they're making billions or Amazon.
Speaker 5 (21:21):
Now, if you had said the startup was AOL, I'd
be crying right there with you.
Speaker 4 (21:24):
That's true. Ho, those were the days when they were
in Northern Virginia. Ho ho those.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Career regrets, you got some, tell us all about them.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Eight Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
Speaker 5 (21:53):
A bipartisan House task force is going to be looking
at the two Trump assassination attempts. Escorts going to start
by focusing on secret services, reliance on state and local
law enforcement at the former president's July rally in Pennsylvania,
where he was grazed by a bullet. Police are investigating
after a gunshot was fired during an attempted robbery at
(22:15):
a school bus stop in Prince George's County yesterday. A
group of Gwynn Park High School students were waiting on
Livingston Road when the suspects approached and took some of
their belongings and then fired a shot into the air
before fleeing. Thankfully, nobody was hurt. Metro's pushed to install
new fairgate doors at every one of its ninety eight
(22:36):
stations as a deterrent of fair evaders is finally complete.
The transit service was reportedly losing forty million dollars a
year to fair evaders, but since the installation of those
new fairgates, there has been an eighty two percent reduction
in gatehopping, and according to a recent survey, the average
working parent pulls eighteen hour work days when you consider
(23:00):
everything they do for their kids, and non working parents
still put in seventeen hours a day. So as a result,
parents are only getting an average of thirty one minutes
of me time each day, and still fifty six percent
of all parents feel guilty for not spending more time
with their kids. Forecast for today, it's going to be lovely,
lots of sun later on High's in the mid eighties.
(23:22):
Right now, sunny and sixty in Germantown.
Speaker 2 (23:24):
Respect the hustle, but sometimes the hustle doesn't need to
happen at places where you least expect the hustle to
be happening. Does that make sense, Oh it doesn't, or
maybe it does. Maybe you've been hustled by someone when
you've been in the middle of doing something that well
is more important than the hustle you were just hit with.
Does this ever happened to you? Eight sixty six nineteen
(23:46):
seven forty three sixty one is the number? Talk back
microphone wide open too. If you're going what's he talking about?
Give us a minute. Explain how a place, a trip
to a place to get one thing became something else.
UNC expect to do this. Maybe something like this has
happened to you. Eight sixty six wash FM, the number
one Toby and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven
(24:06):
point one wash FM. Eight sixty six nine two seven
forty three sixty one. The other night, I didn't I
don't know if I told you this or not, but
I had to make an unexpected trip for whatever reason,
to the home depot and on my way in, I'm
in the parking lot and you go into the store.
Everybody goes in through the main door, and on my
way in, I kind of make this eye contact with
a woman who was there and had something going on,
(24:26):
and I kind of did this smile, yes, smiles whatever
thing like, I feel your pain, look and chilli. That
must have painted a target right here on my forehead,
because that woman then proceeded to tell me that my
wrist would look great with one of these bracelets that
she had on her arms. She had like seven or
eight of them on her arm. She then proceeded to
tell me that she made these bracelets and was selling them.
(24:49):
And I was so like, that was not what I
was expecting to hear when I was going in to
get something to fix a commote at the home depot.
Speaker 4 (24:56):
I was blown away. I didn't know what to say.
Speaker 5 (24:58):
I'm guessing that the home depot doesn't even allow solicitors,
and she was just trying to be all sly about it.
But if you, if you had been in a place
where you expected it, would you even consider buying such bracelets?
Speaker 6 (25:12):
Like?
Speaker 3 (25:12):
How did you get?
Speaker 6 (25:13):
Like?
Speaker 3 (25:13):
What did you do in that moment?
Speaker 7 (25:15):
Well?
Speaker 2 (25:16):
I didn't see a table, so she wasn't like the
girl scouts selling cookies. And I wasn't like at a
craft fair, nor was there a craft fair where they
have lived different artisans there. The last thing that I
was thinking about was that, Yeah, of course, what would
I have done? I don't know, but I was not
in the mood to buy any bracelets. From my arm,
no matter how many times she but tried to butter
me up and tell me, y'a, I'm in the great
(25:37):
one of these brains I make them.
Speaker 5 (25:38):
I don't like being approached ever by anybody. I would
rather come to you. So if you got a little
setup going and if I want to come check it out,
let me come to you. But when you come into
my bubble, it's like off putting, you know, like I'm like, no, no, no,
You're gonna get a no for me because like, whoa,
did she sort of kind of do.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
The ambush thing or do was she like still far
enough away?
Speaker 6 (25:57):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (25:57):
No, she was doing the hustle thing.
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Once I made the eye contact and she started in
on the wrist thing, I go, you have sucker written.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
All over you and you don't even know what to say.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
So I just let her do her thing, and I
conveniently kind of like blued.
Speaker 4 (26:13):
Oh no, I'm good man, Thank god.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
I just need to get something from my commod But
I would like, oh lord, well.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
Here's one thing you'll never have to worry about.
Speaker 5 (26:21):
What's that When you're laying on the beach in the
Caribbean Island, there's nobody gonna come up to you to
offer braid your hair, bald head.
Speaker 4 (26:34):
Once again, I don't even know what to say. I
don't even know what to say more.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
