jump in and tell us Chilly, why are you feeling
good today?

Speaker 3 (00:18):
Well, you and I both got to do something really
cool yesterday at Freedom Plaza we hosted the more Than
Pink Walk for Susan g Comen for all the breast
cancer survivors. And I'll tell you what, very inspirational and
perfect weather for a nice walk.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yes, it was a nice walk for a quick five
k I guess that's what that came to. I think.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
I'm not the I am not the typical running type person,
but I know that five k's translate to like just
over three miles and in ten k's or something, then
there's whatever. But it was a beautiful day to be
in downtown day. It was at least early in the morning,
but it was a beautiful day through the day, isn't it?

Speaker 3 (00:58):
It really really was. It was lovely and it was
great to see so many people and so many of
our team members here from the radio station that join
us for that event.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
So walking for an incredible cause, that's a good reason
to feel good this morning. I will tell you that.
You know what is great was getting home and taking
a power nap while trying to watch the NFL Red Zone.
Oh yeah, because we were up really early on a
Sunday and I was dead to the world when I
got home. After that whole thing, I was just like,

(01:28):
but you know, I bring that up because this and
I know I have a sleep study. I've got to
go spend the night with like a bunch of wires
and stuff on me coming up because you know, health
and wellness or a thing. I've been having some of
the most incredibly vivid dreams lately, and I don't know why,
but it's to the point where I enjoy them so much.
It's like, I want to.

Speaker 3 (01:47):
Sleep, you want to stay in the story.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Yeah, It's like this morning I got up and I
was like, man, why can't I go back into that dream?
And then you chase it. You're like, wait a minute,
if I just hit the snooze, no, maybe, And then
you wake up and you're like, okay enough, you know what. Hey,
it's okay though, because whatever you can do to get
the sleep you need and have those dreams, it's good
for your body to regenerate itself, So make the most

(02:11):
of your you sleep This week, it's ninety seven point
one was CHEFM. Why are you feeling good before five
o'clock this morning? Feel free to tell us as we
get this Monday morning edition of the show started coming
up in just a few minutes.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
Why don't you want to get married?

Speaker 2 (02:27):
That's a loaded question. Why does it even come up? Well,
stay there, we'll discuss why don't you want to get married?
It's ninety seven point one wash CHEFM. Talkbacks wide open.
If you're signed into your iHeart app, just press that
microphone with circle around it. Speak for thirty seconds. Tell
us your thoughts call eight sixty six nineteen seven forty
three sixty one. Surely you see this story floating around

(02:48):
from People magazine fifty cent talking about why he's been
celibates and he's never been married. He says, it helps
me to focus. When you calm down, you can focus.
I've made my shit of mistakes. You know, He's not
the only person who said that or adopted that mentality.
Lenny Kravitz has as well, thoughts.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
He's been married before, Lenny Kravitz, but now he's saying
never again. You know what I get why people don't
want to get married because a lot of people look
at it literally as a piece of paper. I'm curious,
do you believe in the institutional marriage too? Because I
know you've never been married.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Do I believe in the institution? Yes? Do I feel
like I need the government to tell me that I
can get married? No? I know plenty of people who
have never been married, who have cohabitated for decades. Yes,
and they seem to have great relationships.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
I will say, if I were to ever get a divorce,
I'm not remarrying. There's no point. The reason I really
wanted to get married wasause we knew he wanted a child,
and for me that was important. But yeah, I can
totally see why you wouldn't want to get it right.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
And then the whole prenup thing, and you thought about this,
what do you say? Eight six, six ninety two, seven
forty three sixty one is the number. We'll start with
Mike listening to us in Rock. I feel good early
morning why don't you want to get married? What do
you think? I just for being able to do my
own thing and not have to answer to anyone. If
I want to do something, I do it.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
If I want to buy something, I.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Buy It sounds to me like, sir, you are talking
about the benefits of staying single and not having someone
who is a life partner with whom you share finances
and such.

Speaker 3 (04:22):
You mean getting alerts when the other one uses a credit.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Card, Well, there's that, or when somebody writes a check
and then you get some sort of alert and you're like, hey, honey,
when did you decide we were going to do this?

Speaker 3 (04:32):
See this way he can buy that flat screen TV
without running it by anybody.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Amy in a Fairfax this morning.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
It just seems like too big of a commitment. I
changed my mind a lot, which means I also change
my face in men, so I get sick of the
same person after a month or two.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
It just isn't for me.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Amy, Based on that, I just don't think you've met
the right guy, because I think when you meet the
one you're not going to want to change.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Just keep swiping. You'll eventually find what's right for you.
And if that leads to an id then well you
do you Odd's opinions jump in eight sixty six, nine two,
seven forty three sixty one. We're Toby and Chilly in

(05:21):
the part of the morning where we pause and share.

Speaker 3 (05:23):
A quote to help you get into a good headspace.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
She's been all over the news this weekend for lots
of reasons. A lot of them had to do with
being in New York. Her name is Taylor Swift, and
she does not care what you have to say. Her quote,
people are going to judge you anyway, so you might
as well do what you want. Amen. You know, I
like to say, we're not gonna judge. Maybe it's something
I'm trying not to do. And it's not easy, because

(05:48):
it's real easy for us to be judging human beings.
But I love what Taylor says here. If people are
gonna judge you anyway, you might as well do what
you want. So if you know that whomever is gonna
judge you, family member, friend, auntie, school, parent, uncle, coworker. Fine,
let them judge. Do what you want and be you.

(06:10):
That's called being true to yourself. And Taylor Swift, she's
made billions doing just that, so she must be on
to something, Taylor Swift, people are gonna judge you anyway,
you might as well do what you want. Keep that
in mind as you start a brand new week today,
and you do you because that's what counts. That's your
morning mindset for this Monday, the ninth day of September,

(10:47):
it and spew for thirty seconds and tell us what
that is. Toby and Chilly in the morning here at
ninety seven point one WASHFM. They did some research. This
was floating around the web. It was on Reddit as well.
The most logical answer, they say, is pizza because of
its versatility. So let's take pizza out of the equation.

Speaker 3 (11:03):
God, duh, Okay, I'm gonna go with salad.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
Salad.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
I know before you poo pooh the salad.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Poop poo in the.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Sound, because it may seem like it's a boring, weird choice,
But you can do so much with a salad. You
can put different proteins and it can make it safe,
or you can make it sweet but fruit in it.
So because of the potential for variety, that's why I
choose a salad every day.

Speaker 2 (11:27):
The other thing you didn't point out about salad is
that it doesn't have to be like the typical salad,
like with lettuce, right, you could do like a cucumber salad.

Speaker 3 (11:35):
Yeah, a lot of vegetables.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
You can work with cucumber and like what is it
that they have, like this Greek cucumber kind of like beats,
kind of like whatever. I don't know what that salad's called,
but I just love it.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
No, there's a lot you can do. A salad can
be many many things.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
And technically it's a salad, so you can't argue it.
No for me yours truly, if if I were to
have to have anything for the rest of my life,
it would be Enchiladis I know it's a tex mixed thing,
but no, have you had good enchiladas. You can, much
like a salad, put any protein you want, or you
can just say no to the protein and stick with cheese.

(12:11):
It is fine to do what you want to do
with it.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
It has the same components as a pizza, and that
dough is involved, right, or tortilla is involved. Sure, so
I can see why that would be also a very
good choice. At some point, though, regardless of what we choose,
we're gonna get really flipping board after what.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
I'm sorry, I'm gonna miss hot food because I'll be
having salad. I guess I could have a heated salad.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
But well, that's that's true. I mean, I don't know
about too many hot salads.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
But then I'll also miss like cakes and desserts and
different carbs. But yes, if we were forced to pick,
I'm going with.

Speaker 2 (12:48):
That only one. You say the salad, I say the enchiladas.
There's no right or wrong answer. Feel free to chime
in with yours, and you can even leave comments if
you want to, on Facebook, Instant and all of the things.
Well told me, it's in the morning, so let's give
you some stuff and learn some things in the process.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
Right now, Toby and Chilli's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
Eight sixty six ninety two, seven forty three sixty one
is the number? What are we playing for today? And
what's the question? They're chilling the question?

Speaker 3 (13:13):

don't know how to do this? What is it? And

twenty first, thanks to Live Nation.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
It's the vocal acrobatics of Pentatonics. It's like going to
a circus, only with voices. Here's the question one more time.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
When it comes to their vehicle, over half of the
people don't know how to do this. What is it?

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one.

something new together and you could win these tickets. Thank
you Live Nation Pentatonics Eagle Bank Arena on the twenty

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Toby and Chilli's nearly impossible question.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
What's the question again this morning?

Speaker 3 (13:58):
When it comes to their vehicle, over half of people
don't know how to do this? What is it?

Speaker 2 (14:02):
Pentatonic Single Bank Arena tickets up for grabs. Thank you
Live Nation. They'll be here November twenty First to Fairfax,
Amanda good Boded Morten good Budd. So you've got the question.
Hopefully things are good for you in Fairfax. Amanda from Fairfax?
What's your guests?

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Change the wipers?

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Don't knock that. That's not an easy thing to do.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Have you ever tried to do that, Amanda? Or you
just know not to? I do it all the time.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
You do, like it's taken me forever to figure out
to think there's a little latch mechanism that I have
to pull up on my wipers in order to get
the blades off. It's like it's a thing.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Yes, some of them can be a little bit more
difficult than others.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
I don't know. I always seem to replace them wrong,
and then I end up whining to the people at
the oil changed place, hey can you do my wipers tube?

Speaker 3 (14:57):
You're, I guess, one of the minority because over half
of the people do not know how to change their wipers. Amanda,
You're right.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Awesome Pentatonic seagul Bank Arena thanks to Live Nation, tickets
are yours.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
That is awesome.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
All right, We've got more tickets tomorrow morning with another
round of your nearly impossible question. You have a great
Dan Fairfax some Amanda.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Thank you you two.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
The news on the way in minutes. Top stories at
top of the hour. It's ninety seven point one wasch
f MDC goodbart it.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Top stories top of the hour.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
The mother of the teenager accused of killing good people
in at Georgia High School says that she called the
school before the shooting to warn about an extreme emergency.
Record show that Marcy Gray called the Appalachi High School
about half an hour before the shooting and was on
the phone with them for about ten minutes. DC police
are searching for an inmate who escaped custody while being

(15:51):
transported to the hospital for treatment. Twenty seven year old
Derek Ross Simms was last seen right outside United Medical
Center in Southeast early yesterday morning. Three suspects are still
wanted after a Prince George's County armed carjacking. This happened
late Friday night. Four people in two vehicles blocked a
driver of a Dodge Charger. Then moments later a gun

(16:12):
was displayed and they stole the vehicle. They later found
that vehicle in the district. A man who police say
stole nearly eight thousand dollars worth of merchandise from two
CVS locations in Northwest DC during a month long shoplifting
spree this summer has been arrested. Twenty eight year old
e Manuel Hart reportedly stepped hundreds of dollars worth of

(16:34):
merchandise into bags in just a few seconds and then
left without paying. And a new report fels just how
much football fans will be paying for just a hot
dog and a beer at NFL stadiums this year. Now.
The average cost of that combo at all thirty two
stadiums is about fifteen dollars and two cents, but the
most expensive beer and hot dog is at Seattle's Lumen Field,

(16:57):
where it costs nineteen dollars a night eight cents. Forecasts
for today, it's going to be another beautiful day, Sonny.
Hi's getting up to near eighty right now, though it's
still pretty cold forty seven degrees in Fairfax.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
So think about this. Is there something that you've worn
to flaunt, just to flaunt it? Not gonna judge, but
what was it? And why? Why is this even coming up,
but we'll tell you in just a few minutes has
to do with Simone Biles eight sixty six ninety two
seven forty three sixty one. If you want to talk
with us about this flaunting and the talk pack microphone

(17:30):
works too. If you're sending to your iHeart app. It's
the microphone with a circle around it. Press speak thoughts
on the way in the minute. It's Monday, Toby and
chilly in the morning. It's seven twenty three ninety seven
point one. Was chef m at eight sixty six ninety
two seven forty three sixty one. Let's talk about flaunting.
Simone Biles is uh well, I guess she caught some
heat because she admitted straight up to Jimmy Fallon that

(17:52):
she likes to flaunt a necklace and it is quite
the necklace that she got from her husband. It's a
goat and it's made up of like five hundred plus diamonds.
She wears it to screw with people. And she's as
much as said.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
So with the doubters, with the people that kicked her
while she was down four years ago and basically made
her even more miserable. But what do you think constitutes flaunting.
Let me ask. I'll give you scenario, Toby. Let's say
you won a bunch of awards at work or through athletics,
and you have those trophies or things in your home
somewhere in a display. Is that a flaunting thing?

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Not not if it's at your house, but if you're
carrying around the award and like, hey, let look what
I got from the office. I got this from my
general manager. I was the employee.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
God. Oh, so if you're going out of your way
to point it out, that's where you think it becomes flaunting.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
Did I tell you that I was the employee of
the month. Oh yes, that's right.

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Oh, here's my piece of paper that says, so dude,
we were drinks. We're having drinks that happy look.

Speaker 3 (18:56):
We're saying you could be proud. We're not saying don't
be proud. I think there's a difference, though, And with
her and flaunting that necklace, I say good for her
because they were not kind to her, and they did
really kick her while she was down.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
So somebody once told me that there are three ways
to shut everybody up when it comes to flaunting or
when it comes to getting hate from people. One is
to win, two is to win Big three, not to
do some dumb stuff. So that's all that people talk about.
I don't think Simone Biles has anything to explain to anybody,

(19:33):
nor does she need to flaunt. She left that all
out on the mat in the Olympics. She has medals
around her neck. Yes, I get that she went through
tough things. If this is helping her and if she
and her therapist are okay with it, If she's okay
with it, then that's fine. It's not flaunting, I guess,
but it walks a dangerous line to me.

Speaker 3 (19:52):
And I wonder if anybody would be willing to admit
and that's okay if that you do flaunt or you
have flaunted something.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Have you ever known anybody that's flaunted anything?

Speaker 3 (20:01):
I can't think of anything off the top of my head.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
No, oh, I can flaunt. I can think of people
who have flaunted like statement rings like you know, five carrot,
glistening color, cut and clarity cuntery.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
Well, those things speak for itself. It's hard to ignore those,
I know.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
But you know, But but does it have to be
in every photo? Do you have to like stage your
hand in such a way every time so that we see.
Oh and then by the way, when you're just having
some to drinks with your girlfriends, you bring it up.
So did I show you my five carrot Harry Windstone? Okay, well,
then flaunting do you have you have you seen somebody

(20:37):
that has? We're not gonna judge you. Just tell us
a good story. We love hearing those, so give us
a call. We'll talk about those coming up in just minutes.
But first we got to get to a story that
we think might just you make your Monday. It comes
from Gaithersburg, where an artist is really tearing down the
walls when it comes to mental health conversations and asking
you to pull up a chair.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
It's gonna make a lot of sense. In just a
few to.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
Gaithersburg, Maryland, we go for story this morning that we
think might just make your Monday. It's ninety seven point
one WASHFM. You've got Toby and Chilly in the morning.
Now in Gaithersburg, there is a new exhibit, a new
art exhibit. It's really helping to normalize and to tear
down the walls that might be around discussions related to
mental health issues.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
It's called pull up a Chair. Two point zero and
it's being hosted by the Arts Barnes Professional Art Gallery
and basically it features pieces by fourteen artists and each
chair focuses on a mental health issue that the artist
has dealt with themselves.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
Yeah. For instance, there's a chair called Panic, and Molly McCracken,
who's the artist, has black tentacles coming from behind the backresk.
It looks similar to anxiety, you know what I mean.
And it's no coincidence. Yeah, from inside out too, and
you know the I guess the movie came out after

(21:53):
this piece was commissioned. But it's just interesting how you
can see those parallels through this, and you know, for
some people this might be their only way of explaining
what it is that anxiety is.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
Like one of my favorite ones is there's an artist
named Sandra Davis and her chair it's a yellow chair
and it's got these bright texturized splotches of pinks, yellows,
and purples. And she based that when she did a
Google search of what a brain scan of a manic
episode looks like. So, I guess they're inviting you to

(22:27):
go to this art display, sit in a chair and
have these conversations with the artists about what it is
that motivated them to create those chairs.

Speaker 2 (22:36):
The great thing about art and artists to create art
is that there's really just it's just open for interpretation
self interpretation. Like the thing that's really striking to me
to the point of the Sandra Davis chair that you're
talking about called color me manic right, is just how
vivid and beautiful that manic depressive can be, even though

(22:58):
it's a sign of something maybe not being right. And
