Toby and Chile Mornings on Demand onninety seven point one was l I'm sure
you'll have more of a recap comingup with the entertainment news around I don't
know later on this hour, likearound five forty something or whatever ninety seven
point one wash FM. But ifyou missed it, two things about last
night's Video Music Awards. Number one, Taylor Swift had a very big night.
Number two, Taylor Swift went outabsolutely fangirl because in Sync reunited on

(00:26):
stage for the first time in tenyears. They just came out together.
They didn't perform, no, theyjust presented an award. But they looked
a little awkward. I don't knowwhy I was expecting. I don't know.
Maybe they're uncomfortable because of all theattention they're getting, I think,
and the hype that it received. But their body language to me was that
of THEO. It's interesting, isI think that they probably were planning on

(00:48):
performing. I think they were probablynot planning on, you know, having
their promotional role for the New Trollsmovie. They're going to be in kind
of restricted because of the whole sagafter strike. But I do know if
you had very discriminating years, andyou paid attention last night, I e.
You didn't watch on YouTube or justread highlights from the internet. This
morning, you heard a snippet ofthe new and Sync song in the commercial

(01:11):
for the New Trolls movie. Soand then you heard the guys voicing their
characters. So it's kind of aninteresting tease that wasn't a tease. That
wasn't promoting a movie, because they'renot supposed to promote the movies. But
nonetheless it was still a thing. And a lot of BSB fans are like,
well, you know, Backstreet Boyshave been together and there I'll remind

(01:32):
you that in the early ninety orthe late nineties, early two thousands they
were on hiatus for a minute, then they came back his four exactly.
It wasn't the whole shebang. Ifwe're going to revisit boy band arguments,
Oh, I came up in thatarea. It was nice to see all
the boys together on a stage.Just I don't you know what, I
just wanted a little a little moreoof because I stayed up. Yeah,

(01:56):
no, it was, it was. It was. You know, here's
the thing I will say about theVMA is on a macro level, if
you did stay up to watch it, or you watched it. It was
actually a really good show. Yeah, you know MTV did well what MTV
does, They create good programming.Even a lot of people don't watch these
shows as much. Yeah, likeyou know that if you watch, you
know, everybody skips them now.But this was one that was worth watching

(02:19):
and now everybody's talking about it thismorning. Mission accomplished, I guess.
So anyway, more on that tocome, no doubt. As we get
into today, it's ninety seven pointone wash FM. Das Welcome to Wednesday
in the Nation's cap up early, about to get out the door. Told
me you're chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven point one WASHFM. Don't
worry about making your bed. Yes, I know that that guy, that
former's Navy seal who gave that speechat the University of Texas that went viral

(02:43):
back in the day, said ifyou want to change your life, start
by making your bed. But sciencesays that if you don't make your bed,
that it's good because it'll kill offbedbugs and mites and stuff. Well,
that's because of the moisture from yourbody. If you immediately cover it
up with a comforter or a blanketthat just gets traps, you're supposed to
air it out, but I thinkwe need to really put an asterix here.

(03:05):
They're not saying never make your bed, Toby. They're just saying,
let it give it a beat.Okay, just give it a beat to
air out, and then you canmake your bed. You know, it
doesn't say that, It doesn't sayanything about about your bed. In fact,
if you dig deeper into the story, into the research, and we
go back and we go in,we go to very wellmind dot com making

(03:25):
your bed. If you don't doit, if it's not your thing,
there's no negative effect on your mentalclarity. So I again, I go
back to the research, and youknow what, Hey, if I'm gonna
get rid of dustmites and bedbugs andit's not going to show that I have
any kind of mental situation going on, yeah, then I don't apologize for
the fact that my bed is notmade right now. But don't aren't you

(03:46):
in a relationship with somebody who isvery tidy. Everything you've shared, it's
very tidy and very very you know, very organized. She's so ocd.
She's so ocd that she even alphabetizesthe things. Okay, So when her
panther, when you coexist and whenyou abs let her handle the business.
So making the bed right, andI'll just do the dishevel the pools.

(04:08):
Do you know why? Because I'mnot trying to get down with bed bugs
or mice or lice or any ofthese scabies or anything that's very I mean,
put people making their beds for foreverand they're not sitting there with big
bed bugs. You know what.I don't know. But if you do
feel like there's middle of something goingon your bed, and you're one of
those people that you know makes yourbed every morning, you're extra sweaty,

(04:30):
extra CD about it, then Iguess you should air it out, that's
right. Otherwise leave it be,you know, bedbugs for you and me,
sheep. I don't say it's bigball of sheets, do the do
the pool, do the disheveled thepool, you know what I mean.
It's kind of like the half makehalf is still moist. Well, let's
hope not. I'm trying to finda compromise with you, Chili, just

(04:51):
maybe a little bit of something. But it's not gonna happen, all right,
because I don't know anybody who wantsthe bedbugs. Don't make it.
Just leave it beh leave it be. But if you do need some inspiration
Producer Kyle's Morning Mindsets on the way, she'll find a quote, she'll share
it with the class, and thenwe'll all go conquer This Wednesday in DC.
Stay that from one and now onthis Wednesday morning, it's time for

(05:12):
Producer Kyle's Morning Mindset at ninety sevenpoint one wash chef em what's over?
We get chili in the morning chili. Explain to the class, those who
might just be finding us for thefirst time, what it is Producer Kayleb
does at this time every weekday. We think you should start your day in
a good headspace. Where she findsa quote to inspire us. Yeah,
it says, make the most ofyourself by fanning the tiny inner sparks of

(05:35):
possibility into flames of achievement. Youknow, you go through life and there's
things that catch your eye. We'relike, oh, I would we let
to do that? Or oh,I'm really interested in that. But a
lot of times we don't really entertainthose ideas because maybe we don't have time
or the money or whatever. Themillion excuses you can think of. Well,
if you do end up having alittle bit of time today and you

(05:56):
do come across one of those momentsthat spark your interest, I want you
to take a little deeper. Maybethat will turn into something very meaningful in
your life. But I'll read thequote one more time. It says,
make the most of yourself by fanningthe tiny inner sparks of possibility into flames
of achievement. And you could findthat quote or you could share your own

(06:18):
using hashtag morning Mindset on the TobyA Chili page at waham dot com.

on the MTV Video Music Awards,Chili. What else can we expect with
your entertainment report? The latest personthat's going to be on Dancing with the

had failed to do so. Iguess the message got to her anyway.
Arianna Grande is getting candid about herappearance in a new YouTube video for Vogues

of lip filler and botox over theyears. Arianna went on to say that

(08:13):
she stopped with the procedures back intwenty eighteen after she felt like she was
hiding. There's more fallout from DrewBarrymore's decision to start back her talk show
amid the Hollywood strikes. Organizers ofthe National Book Awards have rescinded their offer
for Drew to host their annual ceremony, and Jamie Lynn Spears is stepping into

(08:35):

President find and White House boseman IanSam said that House Republicans have already been

(09:20):
investigating the president for nine months andhave yet to turn up evidence of wrongdoing.
A murder suspect who escaped to DCpolice custody last week is still at
large. Thirty year old Christopher Haynesbroke away from an officer while preparing for
treatment at George Washington University Hospital, but the reward for information leading to his
arrests has now been increased to thirtythousand dollars. A visual was held last

(09:45):

Pridge George's County. Sixteen year oldJada Moore was wounded during a dispute between
two groups of people. Police sayshe tried to intervene when she was shot.
No arrests haven't made yet. Metrousers are going to see the new

easily. Metro is also beta testingapps for vehicle tracking and customer service.
McDonald says it's eliminating self service sodaand beverage stations by the year twenty thirty
two. This move comes as acompany's seen a recent surge in business through
its drive through and delivery services. And every second counts when it comes to

(10:28):
dating as a single parent, becausea new poll reveals it takes them about
fifty five minutes into a date toknow if they'll want to be intimate with
that person. The average single parentthinks that only about thirty one percent of
the dates that they've been on werequote unquote worth it. Forecast for today
cloudy. Some of this rain isgoing to move out eventually, partly sunny

(10:50):
eighty two. The high right now, sixty six in Suitland. All right,
so coming up in just a fewminutes now that you've got the news
there, Chili, what are wegoing to talk about? At six twenty
ish, producer Kayla says that theAndroid phones have this really cool feature that
I can find out if you're beingtracked yep. Now this is very very
interesting, especially given the size andhow discreets some of these trackers are these

(11:15):
days. She'll tell us all aboutthis coming up, still, you,
Chilian, want to continue to stayright there? Said Sharon's most recent Eyes
Closed, six twenty one, ninetyseven point one wash CHFM. Android fans
gather around your Toby and Chilli inthe morning radio because producer Kayla's going to
teach you something about your Android deviceyou might not have known, which excludes
me from the conversation. Because I'mt iPhone and she's got an iPhone.

(11:37):
I'm the only Android. How whatdo you know about? She looks puzzled.
Not you haven't heard about it.It's an unknown tracker alerts apparently through
Android and Google phones if they arestill Androids whatever, they can alert you
if there is a GPS tracking youin a certain radius. Like, how
what do you mean by that?Like? What are examples? So in
real life? I mean now,you can buy a tracker anyway. You

(12:00):
can buy air tags, you canbuy little tiny trackers from Amazon and they
can be stuck anywhere. So someevil person can be out there tracking to
you. And if that happens andyour phone picks up on it because you
haven't enabled, they'll say, hey, there's a GPS tracking you, and
that's what we can be like, okay, well I need to start looking
around my surroundings and seeing where thattracker is. Wow. Amazing. So

(12:22):
if you want to know how toenable it, we've got step by step
instructions and everything you need to knowon the Toby and Chili page awashion dot
com. But can you imagine ifyou were to have that alert go off
on your phone as you get intoyour car after the show today, Chili
and there's your car, Like,I'm not paranoid enough, you know what's
gonna stripping it down? Chili's gonnaShe's gonna end up saying, so go
ahead. No, I'm just sayingthere are some sketchy people out there.

(12:43):
You read about him on the newsall the time. I love that Andrew
has an extra layer of safety, and I'll drive it right to the police
station. Now, Baby track me. Now, after she's sits down in
her car, has the alarms gooff, and says, what the Toby
and Chili's nearly impossible question. Here'sthe question this morning. Nine percent of
Americans think that it is a goodidea to get right back on the horse

(13:07):
after this happens. Well to them, what is it? Well you think
you know? Eight six six ninetyseven forty three sixty one is the number.
Call now play and win tickets.Pentatonics thinks Live Nation will be in
Baltimore. We can send you justin time for the holiday season to get
turned eight six six ninety seven fortythree sixty one The question one more time.
Nine percent of Americans think it isa good idea to get right back

(13:28):
on the horse again after this happens. To you? What is it?
It's six twenty four, The gameis on. Toby and Chile's nearly impossible
question. All right, and ClintonToddy, good morning, welcome, how
are you fabulous this morning? Goodmorning, Good morning to you. You've
got the question. You're playing forthe Pentatonics tickets from our friends at Live
Nation. Your guests would be myguests would be a romantic breakup. So

(13:54):
you think nine percent of Americans thinkit's a good idea to get right back
on the horse again after breaking up. Yep, I do. That's right,
because it's better if you're trying toget over. Okay, don't finish
that. You know where I'm going, right Well, Toddy, that's the

(14:15):

line now. If you want togo see Pentatonics, be here tomorrow morning
for another round of our nearly impossiblequestion. If you want the news,
be here in the next twenty minutesor so for Toby and Chilly's top stories
at the top of the Hour,Top Stories, Top of the Hour,

(14:58):
How Speaker Kevin McCarthy has launched animpeachment inquiry into President Biden over allegations that
he benefited from his son Hunter's foreignbusiness dealings. The White House says House
Republicans have been investigating the president fornine months now and have yet to turn
up evidence of any wrongdoing. Studentswere dismissed early from Stafford High School yesterday
after getting a threat. A searchby police didn't turn up anything. Now,

(15:20):
this, by the way, isa second time it's happened. A
similar incident or threat was made tothe school just last month. Protesters turned
out during yesterday's evening commute on ConnecticutAvenue in Cleveland Park because they oppose the
DC Department of Transportations plan to putin protected bike lanes on each side of
the street from Woodley Park to ChevyChase, because they say doing so will

(15:43):
increase traffic. Officials cut the ribbonon the renovated bridge that links Alexandria in
Arlington yesterday. The Westley Road bridgewas shut down last summer for repairs,
and it partially reopened in March.Standardized test scores showed that Arlington student have
improved in several subjects. The countymade overall gains in math, science and

(16:03):
social studies, and Arlington County's ontime graduation rate last year stewart at ninety
three point five percent, which isthe highest it's been since two thousand and
eight. And finally, in caseyou missed it, according to the FDA,
the common nasal decongest and ingredient andover the counter drugs you find like
day quill, mucinex, Benadrill, and sudafetpe apparently totally ineffective. However,

(16:27):
the regular SUDA feed that you getfrom behind the pharmacy still okay. Forecast
for today, cloudy skies after someof the rain moves out of here.
This morning partly sunny then eighty tworight now sixty six in Annandale. Alrighty,
thanks for the news there, ChiliamarTolby Napp that's me and coming up
in a few minutes, we're gonnatalk about something you may or may not

(16:48):
have heard of. It's a shutup ring. Excuse you? What is
a shut up ring? A majorred flag for something. We'll tell you
all about it in a few minutes. And if you've got one of the
as well, you don't want tomove twenty four ninety seven point one WASHF.
Then that voice belongs to the timelessAlicia Keys. Let her hit that

(17:08):
last note there, It is ninetyseven point one washfm W tell me you
are chilly in the morning? Doyou have the red flag? The relationship
red flag known as the shut upring? Do you even know what a
shut up ring is? Let's breakit down. It's it's a ring that
you're basically as a guy if youdo that sort of a thing, I
guess women can propose to you arepopping the question with this ring, which

(17:33):
may or may not be a veryexpensive ring, highest of qualities, right,
and you're popping said question to makethe person who's nagging you about getting
married shut up. Oh, isn'tthat romantic? Isn't that romantic? We've
now come to a place now wherethere is actually a name for this.
Does this exist? Absolutely? Maybewe all know people that have potentially been
doing the nagging or have been nagged. But if somebody proposes to you to

(17:56):
quote unquote shut you up, heis I'm really going to go the disc
That would be the question. Idon't know, take a look at that
ring on your finger. Is thata shut up ring? Oh? If
that's a little bit mean, maybewe could call it a diamond chili is
not a diamond dust ring. Thatis a ring that's big. It's relevant
of Yeah, Like, you're aguy, right, woman is nagging you?

(18:18):
And I know you've been in relationshipswhere you've been nagged to sure,
well you're not in that relationship anymore. There's a reason why. It's because
I walked into the house one dayand there were a bunch of pages ripped
out of a jewelry magazine with theword hint written on. I'm like,
don't do that to me. Now, did you nag your husband and into
getting you a ring? Did you? Absolutely not? And maybe here's I

(18:41):
get. I have such a visceralreaction to this. If I have to
give you an ultimatum, if Ihave to nag you, if I have
to beat you over the head withwhat my worth is to you and us
as a couple, goodbye. Everhave time for that? And maybe that's
why I was single until I wasthirty nine. I didn't get married until
later. And a way, well, you beat me on that one.
I mean my mom was a tenyears past that. And I'm gonna tell

(19:02):
you right now, I don't know. I don't have a diamond dust ring
for somebody. I've never bought ashut up ring for somebody. You start
nagging me about popping the question andgetting a ring, I'm gonna look at
you like you have five heads. But maybe you and I are wrong.
Maybe those there might be a marriagethat started with a shut up ring that's
gone on the distance. I don'tknow. I feel free to tap to

(19:22):
talk back microphone and tell us allabout it if you nagged and you got
the ring and it lasted, orcall eight six six ninety seven forty three
sixty one. The bottom line is, yes, we want every relationship to
work out around here, and ifyou know, you don't have to get
the biggest ring or the best ring. It can be a diamond dust ring,
but I personally would hope that it'snot a shut up ring, right
because there's just nothing good that cancome from that, you know what I

(19:45):
mean. And if you want toread more about it, because you're just
hearing this for the first time, till be in Chili PAGEWASHTHM dot com coming
up in a few minutes. Sometimesyou got to know when to fly the
white flag. And I think I'mgonna have to fly the white flag when
it comes to potty training this newpuppy each other. I need to know
if anyone knows of a sleep awaypuppy training boot camp, I can send
Nova Luna. I almost said cloverto uh coming up? Explain why and

(20:08):
if you she had a big nightlast night at the bemas read the LATESTWASHFM
dot com to me Toby nap ninetyseven point one wash FM along with Chiliam
Are you got Toby and Chilian andone of this is me waving white flag.
Chually, Oh what's the white flagfor? If you're a pet owner
and you've ever done potty training andyou know how hard it can be,
this is me waving the white flagbecause I need to know if somebody listening

(20:30):
to us right now it's ever hada problem botty training and knows of a
puppy boot camp where I can sendNova Luna to get all the puppy training
she can get. I know thatit's a hard thing, and your daughter
was helping you out before she wentback to school. So is it you
just can't be consistent with it enoughto get nova. It's not that it's

(20:52):
It's not that it's a consistency thing. In fact, I'm actually kind of
proud that I've been as consistent asI've been, because normally I can be
a little inconsistent, taking longer thanyou want it. It's distracting my focus
when I need to be getting thingsdone. And you can't not pay attention
to her because if you don't whileshe's in this very tenuous time, let's
just say that, it leaves nesseseverywhere. So the thought had crossed my

(21:15):
mind in the past when I've hadissues with a with a dog. But
my fear is like, okay,so they're gonna think I'm abandoning them.
I mean, is your dog gonnathink like you're never going to come back
for her? Is she going toremember you when she's see you know,
I'm not. I'm totally not worriedthat much about that. I feel like
she's a puppy, so she'll justbe puppy. But what I'm hopeful is

(21:37):
that with two weeks of intensive trainingin there, however long of intensive training
I need after the fact so thatI learn all of the commanders. I'm
hopeful that it will just jump starteverything that will flash forward like two years.
Oh, she'll go ring the bellat the door to let me know
when she needs to go out.But you, you are going to have
to be trained when you go pickher up, and you have to do

(21:59):
what they tell you to you.Otherwise you would have erased all that money
that you're an end of spending intime. Yeah, no, I hear
you, and I'm cognizant of that. But i gotta tell you, Chili,
anything right now, any amount ofmoney would be worth the peace of
mind that would come by being ableto turn the page on this potty training
thing that I'm stuck in. It'sa quagmire. I hope it works me

(22:22):
too, And if it doesn't,then I'm going to send myself to a
bootcamp for mental health awareness. Justsaying in Mental Health Therapy ninety seven point
one wash FM, We're Toby atChili in the morning at seven forty two.

few minutes. Stay with us aswe closed in on eight o'clock dcings Top

very happy. They volunteered. Theylove something about them mutants that what they
call themselves. Utan's anyway, Tobyand Chili in the morning, thank you
for the news today. Chili. It's eight ten in DC. Coming up

your purpose in life. You arecalling yes, So how are you going

(24:40):
to raise up? Chili's gonna tellus all about this, And you know
what, chances are good you mayknow somebody who needs what Chili's discovered,
or you yourself might even need it. Stay there to find out what's going
on. In minutes will tell useverything. The passion of Chiliamar. I'm
Toby now belong with Chiliamar ninety sevenpoint one at them or Toby Chili in
the morning. And if you're aparent of a child who is neurodivergent,

(25:04):
or if you know somebody who isneurodivergent, that could be ADHD OCD,
it could be any number of mentalhealth related things. You're gonna want to
check this out because Chili, yousay you had a big idea that has
now become your passion. Yes,and you really said it perfectly earlier.
Toby, it's my calling. Thisis what I'm supposed to do in life.
I started a support group within myson's elementary school, and the idea

(25:29):
came to me because there were acouple of parents that I knew who had
kids with ADHD and or had achild on the spectrum, and we sort
of found each other and leaned oneach other during the tough times and also
celebrating the highs that only parents ofneurotypical kids would understand. So why not
expand this and reach out to acommunity of other parents, And yesterday I

(25:51):
got to pitch the idea to thePTA because they're the ones who are the
parents who can get in touch withme. And as soon as I sat
down after I shared my support groupidea, the woman who was sitting next
to me handed me a piece ofpaper with her name and email address.
She's officially my first member of thesupport group. And I'm going to frame

(26:17):
this piece of paper because this iswhat I'm supposed to do in life.
I know this with all. Areyou raising up about this? You are
on fire. Look, this isnot an easy you know, parenting is
tough. We're going through struggles. It can't be for nothing. And you
know, here's something that's interesting,and this is why I'm glad you're doing
it. And by the way,if you're listening to us right now,
you might be at a school wheresomething like this already exists. And if

(26:38):
you've got ideas, you should callChili or get ahold of her on the
Toby and Chili page atwasf dot comand share some of the ideas that have
worked for you if you've created asupport group like this, Because here's what
I do know, and you know, I discovered much later in life my
own daughter's neurodivirgent issues. You know, like when she was in middle school,
I didn't get the headstart that youdid. And one of the things

(26:59):
that I was most afraid to do, Chili, was to talk with anyone
about them because I didn't want toput my child at risk. I didn't
want other people to think my kidwas like you know, special or a
problem potentially. And you know,I think there are a lot of parents
who can relate to internalizing that whenin reality they need something like what you're
creating, nobody is at fault. And I'm going to start crying when I

(27:21):
say this is not your fault andis not your child's fault. No,
this is our reality, right. We need to be there for each other
because Lord knows it takes a villageto help our children succeed. And so
this is it for me. Youlet it up for me. This is
Chili's gonna start a five oh oneC three organization pretty soon. And then

(27:41):
that woman who's sat next to Chiliis going to be like, you know
what, Chili, we're starting anew campaign. We're gonna draft you to
run for president of the PTA likethat, and then think about it.
I'll be on the Landlord Tenant Commissionyou'll be on the PTA fighting neurodivergent causes.
We fight for causes in the morningToby and Chili Show. But seriously,

(28:02):
though about the neurodivergent thing. Ifyou have some ideas to share with
Chili, you know where to findus when not hard to findwahfm dot com,
