Toby and Chile Mornings on Demand onninety seven point one. Chaffelli, it's
hold on to your wallet Tuesday. What does this mean? Well, this
means if you're a fan of allthings Apple, there's about to be a
disturbance in the forest. Additions tothe ecosystem, new iPhones and more chotchkes
that are going to go Chiching,Chiching, Chiching, just in time for

(00:21):
the fourth quarter as we close inon the holiday season. Well, you're
the techiest guy I know, andI know the iPhone fifteen is you know
of guests coming out today? Areyou one of those people that upgrades every
new version? You know, I'veskipped before when it's been way too expensive
and they haven't really packed anything newinside of the phone. Yeah, I,
like everybody else, will be waitingto see what they come with later

(00:43):
on to mine. So there arethose who just use their current phone until
it stops working or until the batteriesstops juicing up. That would be me
that I'm in that category, AndI feel like there are those like you
who really love new feet cheers orbells or whistles, Like, what would
it take for this new generation tomake you go, oh, yes,

(01:04):
I want this. I must have. If it's fast, if it processes
like video editing and stuff like thatquickly, because these phones today of the
processing power that laptops do. Ifthe camera upgrades are incrementally better, if
the video is incrementally better, therethose if the sound is incrementally better.

(01:25):
So those are all things that wouldgo into it. But the bottom line
is price, you know what Imean, to the point I just made,
these phones are coming as expensive aslaptops. I mean, you can
spend seventeen ninety nine on a highend iPhone and that to me is a
lot of money. You know.I find it shocking that in this day

(01:46):
and age, when everything is somuch more expensive, that there are people
lining up and cannot wait to getthe new generation Apple Watch or the AirPods
or the phone. It's like, are your current stuff not working? It's
you know what it is, Chili. It's not that you need it,
it's that you wanted. And thenif there's something that Apple has done well,
They've spent billions of dollars studying humanpsychology and they know how to create

(02:08):
desire and want down to the paperthat they pack the phones in. I
mean, they've thought about everything.I have not had the I do not
drink the Apple kooli. No,you drink the Samsung koolig. And it's
the same sort of koolid that hold. Google generation is old, Samsung phone
is at least three four years.Well, but you know, but here's
the good thing about that. Ifyou wait for a minute, you might

(02:30):
get an incentive from your mobile provider. They'll cover most of the costs of
the upgrade, which puts you outof pocket next to nothing and doesn't raise
your bills up because these days money'stight, y'all know what I mean.
Anyway, welcome to a brand newday, and hold on to your wallet.
Apple fans, it's going to beone of those days. One o'clock
can't come fast enough. Ninety sevenpoint one wash FM, Toby and Chile

(02:52):
in the Morning. Hello there, welcome to the time for some potty talk
this early morning. Well, it'sactually about a potty accessory toilet paper.
Ninety seven point one Wash FM,Toby and Chile in the Morning. They
did some research chilling the company, kim the company Kimberly Clark. I can't
speak this well this morning, sowe kind of have to take this research
with a grain of salt because KimberlyClark, they own toilet paper companies and

(03:15):
stuff. They have found that theideal length of toilet papers twenty inches or
five standard toilet paper squares five squares, just five. That may be okay
for you know number one. Yeah, I don't think we're I mean,
let's not get into the details ofanything. But I just don't think that's
not no. You know, youand I tend to agree on this.

(03:38):
Since I read this data last weekand first like broached it with you,
I've done it significant testing in thefield about this theory, and of this
theory, you paid attention. You'resaying that after you read this you went
home and paid attention to how muchyou pull No, I'm saying I did
substantial testing in the field. Wink. Yes, I know, wink.

(03:59):
So you tested to see how muchhow much of the squares? Yes,
it was a very non scientific method. Okay, but more than five squares,
I would try to use just five. Yeah, that's attempted to use
just five. And there was somethingthat did not feel so fresh about it.
Okay, Okay, I'm not I'mnot trying to not trying to go
there, not trying to void lateanything. People may go and gross this

(04:21):
morning. Well, I have tosay, though, there are those who
are very wasteful, like children, where they just keep pulling and pulling and
I'm like, dude, you don'tneed that much. Yeah, but there's
a sweet spot. And I thinkthat five is not it. I think
five is too little. But thepeople at Kimberty Clark say this length offers

(04:41):
the right balance of usability and ecofriendliness. Chilling, eco friendly, eco
friendliness until you have to get theplunger out. Why m Yeah, children,
Well you and I anyway, we'vediscussed this before. We're more baby
wipes people, anyway, that's truetoo. I use a combination. That's
another thing that I found through researchover the last five days or so search,

(05:01):
Yes, extensive research in the fieldchill, and I've concluded that this
uh statistic is not conclusive. Well, good for all you five square people.
Yeah, thank you. I hopeeveryone washes their hands yep all the
time. And then some that's rightexactly, alrighty, Then the things you

the stars, the numbers, thecards, ask for the strength to get

Thanks for the news. Have youheard about this? It's one of
the rudest dining habits ever. Youmight just be doing it if you've never
heard of Ice. Stay there becausewell you're gonna want to hear about this
on the way is The show continuessix twenty two. Toby and Chilly in
the morning, ninety seven point onewash FMDC on this Tuesday morning Ice.

(11:56):
It's one of the rudest dining habitsever and you may be doing it.
Now, here's the backstory on whatice is. Say you go to a
dinner party at somebody's house, right, and they make a family recipe for
okay, meatballs. We were justtalking about this Chilian are off the air
with the Microsoft. You know,Chili uses a recipe that's been handed down
for generations to make these meatballs andthis scrumptious sauce that goes with it,

(12:20):
and you know it towards the endof the table to the dinner, you
know, people around the table arelike, oh, these meatballs were good.
And then somebody stands up and says, well, you know, they
were good, but I would haveused this with it. Are done that
with it? That's called ice,And it's almost like it's sun yeah,
insulting. It's just like, really, why right? And there are people

(12:43):
who I think try to come acrossas great cooks and they think they're giving
some sort of constructive criticism, butat the end of the day, it's
a criticism. Nobody asked you foryour ryot and like, you know,
there's a time and a place forgivings said opinion on a meal and it's
not. While you're sitting at thedinner table of the person who just cooked

(13:05):
do these meatballs and acquaintance who hadthe audacity to ice a chef a chef
Toby, he said, well, you know, when I make the use,
I use such and such ingredient. And he just couldn't read the room.
The chef is looking at him like, are you serious, chef's gonna
go spit in your bull your bays. I mean, there's something seriously like

(13:26):
it. No, it's just notokay. You know. Look, I
didn't go to etiquette classes when Iwas growing up in Texas, but I
was taught some common sense stuff. And common sense says, if you're somebody's
guest, or if you're dining ata chef's table, for the love of
God, the food Gods and MarthaStewart, don't insult their meal. No,
don't do that by saying that you'rea better cook or something like implying

(13:48):
that you would have made a betterversion of it. Well, if you're
curious about this ice thing, becausewell maybe you feel kind of guilty about
ice and somebody read all about itToby and Chili page WASHFM dot com.
Shall we play a game. Tobyand Chili's nearly impossible question, what's question
this morning? Six out of tenwomen don't trust their husbands to fix this?

(14:09):

but there's only one thing on itand if you know the answer,
you could go see Pentatonics, CFGBank Arena and Baltimore Deceimber third. Thank

Toby and Chili's nearly impossible question,Hey, Mabel, good morning,

Everything dude wonderful. I'm glad tohear that. Here comes to question
one more time case you missed it, or for those who might just be
joining us who missed it a bitago. Six out of ten women don't

(14:52):
trust their husbands to fix this. What do you think we're talking about?
For the tickets to Pentatonics thanks toLive Nation Mabel survey Sai, what's the
car? The car? Do youtrust your husband or the man in your
life to fix your car? No, I stay away from my car.
Yeah, well you don't want tomake it worse. I agree, I
trust the repair man in my lifeto fix the car. That's right.

(15:13):
Safety first, that's exactly right.Into that. That's also the correct answer,
Mabel. So this means you're gonnaneed to hop into that hoopetie and
drive up to Baltimore and go toCFG Bank Arena and see Pentatonics. Tickets

day. Make sure you get it, you know, get it checked out

a new car, specifically her husband. So does Chili have the right to

(18:15):
test drive this new car or no? Stay there for even more on this
coming up as Toby and Chili inthe Morning continues, and if you've got
thoughts, they're welcome at eight six, six, nine two, seven forty

ago here with Toby and Chili inthe Morning seven twenty three. By the
way, on a Tuesday in thenation's capitol at ninety seven point one wash

(18:37):
FM, Chili told us that herhusband reached the point where it was time
to start looking for a new carafter I get some car trouble and so
now your husband is on the hunt. Yeah, he's sort of narrowed down
the list of different SUVs and wemight be buying. So he's kind of
making a little little list and checkingit twice. And I said, I
said, excitedly, Oh, it'llbe so much fun to go do some

(19:00):
test drives together. And that's whenhe looked at you like he had two
heads, because he's like, well, I'm going to test drive the car
because well, the cars for me. Yeah, No, he didn't look
at me funny at that point.Really, no, he started to look
at me funny when I started makingcomments like yeah, you know, I
just I can't wait to get inthat seed and I hope I can see
out the back window because some ofthese SUVs the windows aren't that great.

(19:22):
That's when he started to get alittle nervous. Sure, Now, why
do you think he got a bitnervous Because you were like talking about getting
behind the wheel and seeing out theback seat. I asked, I go,
why why does that matter? Because, well, because it's it's my
car, that's right, cares Whocares? Like what I mean, who
cares? I will be driving thevehicles? Well, you assume you'll be
driving. I know we will bedriving. Just like when you are a

(19:45):
married couple and you each have yourprimary vehicle, you do drive the other's
vehicle when there is a need forit. So my input should be considered,
don't you think. Yeah, butwhen my significant other got her new
truck, I didn't and I'm notmarried, but I didn't have any buried
and it's not my place to giveher any input because it's her car.
Well, when we have the kindof partnership, what's his is mine.

(20:07):
What's mine is his? Huh.It's including our money and all the things.
So I didn't think it was toomuch to ask to have something.
Maybe a final say could be his. But I think that when you were
married that your spouse should also havean opinion or a say. Yes,
you can have an opinion, butthis is the opinion that counts. The

(20:27):
car is for your husband, notfor you. Right, I will be
running errands. Oh okay, okay, oh oh oh, well when my
car is acting as shifty, I'mgonna have well, memo to don in
case you didn't know. You're shoppingfor a new car not for you,
but for your wife, and youfor us as a huh yeah, rights

(20:52):
for the family. And if shestarts bringing it to work, you'll you'll
understand, and then you know whenshe starts running errands and then he works
from hometime. Well okay, I'lljust say it's okay. It sounds to
me like you're trying to come anddeer this man's new car and he doesn't
even have it yet. Alright.Thoughts eight six six nineteen seven forty three

(21:15):
six do you want? Is thenumber? Whatever side you stand on,
I hope that you can help Chiliand her husband figure this whole card dilemma
out, and haven't They don't evenhave the car yet. Coming up in
a few minutes. This is whereyou hear crazy first date stories every Tuesday
and Thursday morning, right around sevenforty and in a few minutes, we're
gonna hear about a state of indeciand exposure that went down for Susan from
Annapolis on a first date with aguy. But did this wardrobe malfunction resulting

(21:40):
a good thing or a bad thing? We'll find out next. Is Toby
and Chilian the want to continue? It's Toby and Chili's crazy first date Susan
in Annapolis. Welcome. We can'twait to hear this story that you've got
for us, So tell Chilian, mar and myself Toby nap everything absolutely.
Good morning. So first date experiencewas with a guy who I was introduced

(22:03):
to buy a mutual friend. Heshowed up at my house. It was
still lie of course, I wasvery excited and was in the days of
Jordash jeans that I had laid onthe bed to get onto my body.
Came down the stairs and I hadon bright blue underwear. And my fly
was open. Well, my sisteris. My sister is behind him like

(22:25):
signaling, pull up your zipper, pull up your zipper type thing. So
I get my zipper pulled up.I glanced down. He's got a pack
of cigarettes in his hand, andI'm like, oh god, I didn't
know he smoked. I don't wantto go out with this guy. Go
on the date. We go seethe movie The Shining go have pizza afterwards.
While we're in the car, hedrives this old Volkswagen Beetle. It's

(22:45):
July. The heat is blasting onmy feet and I'm like, I'll be
polite here and not say anything. And I pulled my feet back, and
the gentleman that he is, heapologized and said sorry, the heat doesn't
turn off. So sat there inthe car, went on the date.
All was well. Now here weare in April, would be married forty

(23:06):
one years. He no longer smokes, He's seen every color of my underwear,
and he has an air conditioned car. So we're doing okay. Progresses.
Come question really quick for you.Did the smoker go in for a
kiss on the first date and howdid you react to said, you know,
smoker's breath. He did go infor a kiss, and ironically,

(23:26):
I don't even remember whether he hadhad the cigarette smoke on his breath,
because you know, he had thepack in his hand. We went to
movies, he can't smoke in there, We went to dinner, can't smoke
in there, And then I don'trecall him smoking in the car. So
from a long, long time agonineteen eighty recollections, I don't think he

(23:47):
had smoker's breath at the moment.Well, with so many things going against
the guy, what was it abouthim that made you agree to go out
with him again and then end upmarrying him? So, I mean he
was a lot like me. I'ma talker. As you can tell.
We seem to have a whole lotin come and both came from really you
know, good families, talked aboutfamily, talked about that sort of stuff.
Currently married, three kids, sevengrandkids later. You know that was

(24:08):
clearly important to us at the timetoo. And I mean he had these
beautiful blue eyes wearing those nineteen eightyshort ope corduroy shorts man and you know,
yeah, yeah, it was akind of the whole package. So
he filled out that corduroy nicely andhis blue eyes matched under the bright blue
underwear. Well, there you go, Susan. That is a tremendous story.

(24:30):
Well, a wonderful story of love. Even though he smoked, he
quit, the kids, the grandkids. It's such a great story that it's
so crazy good. And that's why, Well, Chili, why don't you
tell her what she's got. We'dlove to send you to go see Luke
Combs when he comes to two.Oh my god, that's great. That's
great. I listened to you guysevery morning. I'm very excited. Great,

(24:52):
thanks so much. And if youwant to go see Luke Holmbs,
we've got more tickets for you.All you have to do is call us

I'm talking to my mom the otherday, checking in doing the family
thing, and my mom asks me, are you gonna go to Florida for
this thing? That your younger brotherTodd has going on with his work.
It's kind of a big deal tohim and your dad, and I aren't
thinking we're gonna go. And Iwas like, crickets, because well,

(27:55):
are you asking me to go,telling me to go, or a loose
that I need to go? Butyou didn't visit. You didn't actually say
that out loud. You just letthat hang there for a second. And
then what changed this topic exactly? That's what I always do. If your
brother is doing this really cool thingin Florida for his work, were you
not naturally going to go yourself?Well, there had been like discussion of

(28:17):
it in a group chat, okay, when he kind of extended an invitation
to everyone in the family, andbut but there was nothing that implied that
I had to go. So,honestly, Chili, I hadn't made a
decision on it. You know, the mom pressure, the mom guilt,
like you know your dad and Ican't go. I'm on the phone with
mom and she's like, are yougonna go to your brother Todd's thing?

(28:40):
Yeah? I'm like, yeah, are you telling me? So? It's
important to point out here, Toby, you are the oldest of four boys.
Yeah, but so hold on now, whether it's fair or not.
Being the eldest, you have differentresponsibilities. You sometimes have to step in

(29:00):
to rep the family. And perhapsthat is what she's saying, that you
have to do your brotherly duties andgo represent the rest of the crew for
your brothers. But my younger brothersaren't going there in San Antonio, brothers.
I get that my mom and daddon't want to travel because of this
whole COVID thing in there. I'mfeeling something, Okay, I get that

(29:21):
there it's hired, why not?But I didn't sign up to go stand
in on behalf of the family atthis thing in Florida from my brother because
it's a big deal to him. This is what happens we you know,
we don't choose to be the firstborn. We don't choose to be the representatives.
But this is our lot in lifesometimes and if you don't do this,
you will not be the favorite child. So do I have to look

(29:42):
at this like a ceremony like saya wedding or a you know, some
other kind of like anniversary party orsomething. If the entire family can't go,
you said I need to go.Can make a speech on their behalf.
You should stand up and say somenice words to your brother. Say
mom and dad wanted to be here, but I am here for them on
their behalf. Oh lord, Ican hear it now. Mom and Dad

(30:03):
were too afraid to fly to Florida, and the twins, well, they
couldn't be bothered. So you stuckwith me. Todd, You're stuck with
me. But I'm proud of you. That's very cool what you accomplished.
Yeah. Can I just pass onthat part of the job description? Oh
please? What more? Toby andJilly head over to washupm dot com for
