of you because I was grinding myteeth while I was walking. Oh okay,

(00:22):
when I go pulling you and goto the dentist. So how was your
oral bill of health yesterday? Now, my cleaning went really well, no
cavities. However, I've got amuller in the back that probably needs to
be extracted, even which may thenneed to have an implant. Oh no,
depending on my teeth meet up inthe back there. You know what

(00:45):
I'm gonna. I'm gonna. I'mgonna share something with you because I guess
you know, we're in this intimatespace every day anyway, and we might
as well share these things. Ihave had a hole in my jaw where
a muller used to be four years, and I will not get the implant
because the idea of getting the implantand having to have that thing sitting around
with this thing in your mouth forsix months while it settles. Only to

(01:07):
put that right, well, youdon't know what kind of damage you're doing
without the implant, but I totallyget it. Nobody dentists are, you
know, very much not the favoriteof people. I know. It's the
worst I did say to him.I said, listen, if I were
to go get this implant thing downthe road, if I needed it,
whatever, I'm going to a placea de station, like I'm not going.
I'm not going to your guy likehis guy doesn't do sitation, like

(01:30):
I need to be out. Idon't want laughing. Yes, I want
you to put can't I can't evenI can. I want to wake up
and then not have to worry aboutit and then just feel some sort of
way that I have them put topicalnumbing on my gums just for cleaning because
they go because I just I don'tlike the sensation of any thing scraping against
my teeth. So I even havethem numb me for just cleanings. I'm

(01:53):
like, just take me out.I don't care thinking about this dental work
this early in the morning is justmaking me feel all kinds of some sort
of way. You're not alone.Let's just get get into the day of

this mean? Or if you dohave some money stashed in your house,
what does this mean? We'll getinto it next. Stay there, good

in the morning. They do havesome science, some research out that says
that there is a perfect amount ofmoney to have on hand. At a
minimum. They say it's about onehundred dollars, maybe two hundred. No,
that's how much typical people have.As I'm looking at this, they
suggest keeping between a thousand to twothousand dollars at your house. Money.

(03:00):
Yeah, I see that from thesefinance experts at the wallet Moth. But
I don't know that I have anextra thousand dollars to stash someplace now,
it's just in case, right,Well instead of in a bank, even
a bank, you could have athousand dollars in cash. So the question
is when are we using cash inlife anymore? I know, I mean

(03:21):
I've kind of gotten away from itwhen it when when everything went kind of
cashless because of the whole shutdown.Yeah, that's when I kind of like
turned my back on cash. Butalso you could think, Okay, the
only time I ever pull out cashis maybe to tip a valet guy or
something like that. Maybe and thenmaybe like at the farmer's market, you
know, because it's just more convenient. Yeah, there are some people that
do like cash. Yeah, Idon't need no thousand and two thousand dollars

(03:43):
sitting in my drawers somewhere and it'ssafe or whatever, Like that's a lot
of money. See, I'm moredown with the one hundred to two hundred
dollars that the people it Spark Financialsrecommending this article. Oh my god,
you know, but a thousand dollarsor then there's some people that say ten
thousand dollars, I'm like, areyou kidding me, right now, that's
that's that's that's no, that's bills. That's like college, very paranoid person

(04:05):
who doesn't trust banks. Yeah,it's who just doesn't try. Somebody who's
like, I'm never leaving my house, I don't believe in the financial system.
I'm buying goal or like my mother, God rest asshole, who would
hide cash in the floorboard of thehouse back in the day. Do you
ever go looking down there after shedied? We certainly did. Did you
find anything? Yeahs wow, right, and then we took her right to

(04:28):
the banks. You took it tothe bank. I would have thought your
dad would have been like, thisis mine, I'm just repossessing it.

the last holdout among the shows thatwere affected by the strike. Chris Rock's
face really hurt when Will Smith slappedhim during the Oscars, but I guess
his mental health also hurt. Afellow comic, Leslie Jones, says that
Chris never let on just how deeplyhurt he was. She tells People Magazine

of it. Ed sheeran breakin recordsin California, his a performance at Levi's

a subscription fee is really the onlyway to put a stop to bought accounts

(07:24):

US support for Ukraine and issue adefense of American leadership. Abroad. Maryland
jurisdictions already have a voluntary nine oneone registry that's intended to help police handle
calls and involve people with a rangeof disabilities, including autism. Well now

(08:09):
Montgomery County talking about similar legislation. The idea is that when first responders arrive
on a scene, they would knowthat a person at the address is deaf,
or might have delayed response times,or be nonverbal. A common telephone
scam has come to Arlington County. It involves a phone call from someone who
claims to be with law enforcement andthreatens arrest if a fine is not paid.

(08:33):
Residents are told a misjury duty orcommitted some other infraction and must pay

Chiliamar Tolby nappis my name, andyou found ninety seven point one WASHFM Toilby
in Chili in the morning. Moms, are you touched out? Have you
heard this phrase? Do you knowwhat it means to be touched out?
If not, you'll learn and we'lllearn something new together about this which is

(09:39):
affecting probably more moms than we realize. That's on the way in minutes.
It's till we in Chili in themorning continually, ninety seven point one WASHFM.
It's six twenty two on this Tuesday, September nineteenth. That was fascinated
by this, and I wanted tobring it up because Chili. I've never
been a mom. I've been adad. I've had to play both roles
at times, but I've never beenin a mom, nor have I ever

(10:01):
been a touched out mom, norhave I ever heard of this phrase touched
out? So I wanted to bringit up to you as a mom that
I know. Tell me, haveyou heard of this touched out mom's thing?
This is when moms feel like theyare overstimulated from birth. They are,
well, the kid is on themat all times, sure, and

(10:24):
mom's just over Yes, you knowwhat I mean? Yeah, Like I
mean, because you're carrying the babyall day. If you choose to do
the breastfeeding thing, you're doing that, and then you know, they turn
into toddlers that literally hang on toyou and don't want picky up, picky
up, They want to be carriedeverywhere. And then at the end of
the day, after all of thisthat you've been doing for the little one,
Yes, your husband comes home fromwork and he's like, hey,

(10:46):
honey, can I have a kiss, and you're like, don't touch me.
Touched up. I gotta say,my kid's almost ten and I still
feel touched out, So really Ido. Look, it's very cute when
they want to ugle and cuddle andstuff, but and I feel horrible for
saying this, but sometimes women justwant to be left alone. Don't touch

(11:07):
me. I just you're on me, you're leaning on me, you're doing
this and then you think, youknow, one day they're not going to
want to have anything to do withyou, and then all of a sudden
and you feel bad for saying leaveme alone, and you snap at the
child because the child doesn't understand thatleave me alone means I need to be
left alone. I need some momtime. Stop hanging on me. Kid
and the four spouse. It's like, okay, I guess I'll just go

(11:31):
over here now. I did notrealize how deeply this touched out thing was
and how deeply it could also impairromantic relationships. Come on, yes,
that's why there are some droughts thathappen in relationships when you've got young kids
because you're just touched out. Youjust don't want to deal anymore. And
by the way, if you're likeone of these modern moms right like,

(11:54):
you're you're doing all of this stufffor the kid, and you're going to
work and then you're coming home andyou're going back into mom it's like fast
switching. Wow. But work isone place where you don't have to worry
about physical touch because you know hrwould get involved. Oh that's true,
right, Yes, I'd like tofile a complaint against my kid. Why
because I'm feeling touched out. Ifyou want to read more about this touchdown

(12:15):
phenomenon, we've got you covered onthe Toby and Chili page atwashf dot com.
And if you've ever felt touched outand you have some thoughts, you
know where to reach us made sixsix ninety seven forty three sixty one.
It's a good number to have, especially now. Toby and Chili's nearly impossible
questions because you touched out, Mom, have a question for us. Compared
to fifty years ago, just onein six Americans believe that these common household

(12:37):
items were made of higher quality orare made of higher quality nowadays. What
are they all right? Let's askthat one more time. Compared to fifty
years ago, just one in sixAmericans believe these common items are made of
higher quality nowadays? What are theyall right? I just wanted to let
them marinate for a second. You'recalling eight six six ninety seven forty three

(13:01):

you could win. Toby and Chile'snearly impossible questions, Good morning Pat in
Germantown. How are things in Germantown? They are going well awesome. Well,
I'm glad you're here to play thegame this morning. There, Pat,
here comes to question. Compared tofifty years ago, only one in
six Americans believe these common items aremade of higher quality nowadays. What are

(13:24):
we talking about? Let me guess, furniture. Furniture. You know,
that's an interesting statement. You everlook at some of these places that deal
in vintage furniture and you notice howwell these things hold up like they built
things back in the day to last. You know, I'm right, You're
not gonna find no Ikea furniture inthose vintage joints in a few years will
fits to Ikia, because Ikia doesgreat stuff. Love them person yes,

(13:48):
but not built to last for decadesand decades. But to your point,
I don't know that I'm going tobe out at Luckett's shopping vintage and I'm
gonna find a scholl Guard antique endtable. Right. They come up with
the weirdest names that I get too. No, I'm like, what,
I can't even pronounce half of thestuff in that story. That's an excellent

(14:11):
guest, Pat, And it's alsothe right answer. Jesus Christ Superstar.
You're gonna go see this incredible musical? Oh excellent, great, I'm right.
It's a Capital one hall coming upin October, actually October twenty second,
Capital one haul of great venue tosee any live performance Jesus Christ Superstar?
Do you become who they say youare? Yeah, it's my dramatic

(14:33):
reading of it. That's the onlyline I remember from the musical here anyway,
Well, thanks Pat, congratulations.Okay, thank you very much.
We'll see you a shopping for somevintage furniture this weekend. Okay, all
right, stay right there there,Pat in Germantown. Anybody want to see
Jesus Christ Superstar? More tickets tomorrow. Another round of our nearly impossible question
six twenty five is should be hereto play and win? Who needs news?
Yes you do. Top Stories atthe top of the hour. On

(14:54):
the way right around seven Top StoriesTop of the Hour. The Marine Corps
is suspending flights for two days afteran F thirty five disappeared for hours when
a pilot ejected over South Carolina onSunday. So debris from the plane was
eventually found about one hundred miles northof Charleston, but the incident has now

(15:15):
raised questions about how the military couldlose a multimillion dollar fighter jet. A
Prince George's County judge has denied bailin the case of a teenager accused in
the shooting death of a Duval HighSchool student. Sixteen year old Jada Medrano
Moore was reportedly shot to death outsidethe school in September eleventh when she came

(15:35):
to help her younger brother, whowas part of a dispute between two students.
The suspect is going to be triedas an adult. Police in Fairfax
County say a man arrested in connectionwith the assault of a girl may be
involved in several other attacks. Thevictim reported she'd been assaulted by a man
on a walking path in the Burkearea on September seventh. A composite sketch

(15:56):
of the suspect eventually less to hisarrest. A new state of the art
healthcare facility has opened in DC's andAcostia neighborhood. The Whitman Walker Max Robinson
Center is going to provide primary, dental and HIV care to local residents.
As part of its longtime commitment, and according to a new survey, seventy

(16:17):
seven percent of moms agree that socialmedia puts a lot of pressure on them
to act or look a certain wayand the average mom feels like a quote
bad parent one hundred fifty six timesa year. Forecast for today, lots
of sun, beautiful seventy eighth thehigh right now fifty eight degrees in Montgomery
Village. That's the news, TilliamR. Thank you seven o six at

(16:40):
ninety seven point one WASHFM on thisTuesday, September nineteenth. Case you didn't
know, there's quite a few strikesgoing on. Yes, that's right,
and now an organization within one ofthese strikes, specifically the Writers Strike,
the Union Solidarity Collective. They areoffering very unique opportunities to people to help
raise money for those who might needto help. M Wait till you hear

(17:03):
what some of these are and howyou can make some of these experiences yours
and what experience would you like tohave if you could. We'll get into
this coming up as Toby and Chiliin the Morning continue that dand Mon and
Joby They're gonna be good one day. Toby and Chili in the Morning ninety
seven point one WASHFM at seven twentythree in the Nation's Capitol at eight six
six nine two seven forty three sixtyone. Tis the season to go on

(17:23):
strike. The writers are on strike, the actors are on strike. Other
people are on strike. Automakers areon strike. And in order to help
people survive the strike, it turnsout that some of the writers and actors
are pulling their efforts together to sellvery unique experiences. And producer Kayla Actually,
who's in the room with us rightnow, found this last week kind

(17:44):
of brought it up and then allof a sudden it just snowball through the
week into an eBay website for charityauctions. And some of this stuff is
insane. Like give me one examplethat a celebrity is offering. Okay,
so the most random one is LenaDunham from Girls HBO. She is selling
the experience to pay a mural insomeone's home, so she'll come to your
house. Yeah, I didn't evenknow she could pay. Like, what's

(18:07):
the bid around right now? It'sabout five thousand dollars. Thousand dollars for
a celebrity to pay. If you'rea fan, it's worth it. Yeah,
to my house, there's a wall, Lena Dunham exactly. Well,
if we could custom make, whatwe would pay for her? Like,
what's something that would come to yourmind, Kayla? You know those like
big stars from Food and Network backin the day, like Emerald Lagazzi,

(18:30):
barry him. I would have himcook me a dinner. I want something
that takes a lot of time soI can spend time with them and become
friends. These smells coming out ofeuropart have all of the neighborhood like coming
over to your place, like, what's going on in there? What about
you, Chilima? What would youwant? Let's say Lauren Michaels offered me
a speaking role in one of theSNL skits. I would for sure pay

(18:53):
good money for that, because thenI can hang out with the cast.
Like you said, she'll be kickingit in the green room, green rooms,
you're returning. What would you payfor what unique experience? I would
want Tom Cruise to fly into theMontgomery County Airpark in his private jet,

(19:15):
of which he has many, andtake me on some whirlwind trips somewhere and
back right so for like several hoursand I just the only only thing that
I want him to do is lookat me and be like, I feel
the need the need for speed, and then I'd be good, and I'd
be good and I would be happy. Maxim out of credit card to make
that contribution. Says interesting stuff. So if you want to see what's out

(19:38):
there for auctions, some of thestuff might make you go wow. Told
me at Chili Page WASHFM dot com. Alright, coming up in just a
few minutes. Oh boy, howdo you describe this crazy first dated?
Yeah, she Well, let's somebodymade some really bad decisions, probably didn't
think through things. Yeah, whenthey went out on this date, and

(20:03):
then somebody showed up to remind themabout those bad decisions. Wait till you
hear this crazy indeed, and it'son the way less than fifteen minutes.
It's still be in Chilly in themorning. Continue It's Toby and Chilly crazy
first date. Now from down thereat the bottom of the fish bowl known
as the Belthway and Woodbridge, Stacyis here with a crazy first date story
to tell us all about. Welcome, we're listening. Take us on this

(20:25):
adventure for my crazy first date.I met this guy at the gym where
I was working out. He seemednice, attractive. He asked me out
because why don't we meet for dinneron Friday night? And I said,
okay, that that sounds good andhe said do you want me to pick
you up? And I said,oh, that's okay. You know,
I'll get a friend to drop meoff on me there. And so we
met for dinner that night. Everythingwent well. We hit it off.
We shared appetizers, dinner, weshared we split one bottle of wine,
so it's like two glasses of wineper person. And so then when the

(20:48):
check came, he said, youknow what, do you want to go
somewhere else? I know of anotherplace we can get dessert and maybe have
another drink. And I said, you know what. Sure. So when
we got out, he said, you know what you're wearing really nice heels.
Why don't we drive over there? My car's right here. Kind I'll
just drive over to the next place. And I said, okay, that's
fine. So we walk over tohis car. We get in and I
realized it was a rental car andI said, is this a rental Like

(21:08):
what happened to your car? Andhe said, oh, you know,
I got in a little accident abouta week ago. So I'm using a
rental and we were start having nomore than two minutes when I see police
lights. But he's getting pulled over, and so if he starts freaking out
and I was thinking, he didn'teven do anything wrong, but it's no
big deal, like relax. Policeofficer comes up to the window and he
rolls it down and then he reallystarts like looking nervous, just thweat and

(21:30):
bullets. And the police officer says, do you know why I pulled you
over? You know, were youdrinking tonight? And he said, oh,
I just had like a glass ofwine with dinner. And she said,
I'm going to need to step outof the car. So he proceeds
to give him a sobriety test andthen he sits back down in the car
and he said, do you thinkit was a good idea to be drinking
and driving? You know, lessthan one week after I responded to your

(21:51):
accident when you were charged with theDUI oh recognize same police officer and I
was like, oh my gosh.So I'm sitting there and I was like
mortified. He's writing him up aticket and I'm like thinking of my escape
plants, you know, when theofficer leaves. He's like, I'm so
sorry about that. You know.I didn't want to say anything, and

(22:11):
I was like, you know what, why don't we just call it at
night? Anyway, he did callme a couple more times, and she's
like, I'm not an alcoholic, you know, It's just sometimes they need
to drink to have a good time. And I was like, okay,
major risk likes. Did he evercome back to the gym? I ran
into him again, and then Idecided I might have to go to a
different gym because it was just reallyuncomfortable. Oh what you need to move,
Jim. He's the one who gotthe dure. When I called back,

(22:33):
I was just kind of done withit and I was like, oh,
that was your home, Jim.Yeah, I mean what about all
the guys who like working out nextto you because you know, you look
great and those yoga pants Lululemon.Oh well, hopefully he found a better
gym and a better guy to hangwith. I found a solid guy and
we're happily married. Oh how longhas it been six years? Do you

(22:55):
have any kids? Yes, wehave one. You might need to get
a babysitter for that one kid.Do you know why what? You're gonna
go see the Commanders play the BuffaloBills at FedEx Field on September twenty fourth.
That is awesome. My husband willbe so excited. He's a huge

as you know, producer Kayla's puppyhas had some health challenges. Well now,

(25:17):
producer Kayla's upset about the word pity. Wait till you hear this,
don't move, it's on the way. As the show continued, Producer Kayla
is a bit annoyed this morning ninetyseven point one Wash FM. It has
to do with her puppy, herpooch and the word pity. She's joined

(25:37):
Chili and I to tell us whatis on her mind this morning. Producer
Kayla. Yeah, if you don'tknow, my dog Chloe got her back
leg amputated exactly two months ago today, and I have noticed that. One
I've taken her out because she's doinggreat now that she's getting a lot of
attention, way more attension than shegot with four leg Yes, because you

(26:00):
don't often see a three legged dogout and about it, so people probably
naturally notice her and are kind ofthinking, oh, she's so cute and
proud. But she was cute beforeas well. She's cute now, she's
beautiful now. She was fantastic before, and I found that after her puppy
stage, the attention kind of dwindledfrom the public. What's an example,

(26:21):
Like you're out in public and you'rewalking around and you've got your puppy and
then all of a sudden, whatannoying Shere's a great example. I was
at Petcoe the other day and Igot stopped by someone. I was like,
oh, my god, your dogis so cute, which she is,
they're right, but this person wentout of their way to go to
the cashier to get those little freetreats that they have to go and give
them to her. She got extratreats by the cashier, and everyone's like

(26:44):
asking questions about her, like what'sher breed? How old is? She's
so cute? And I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa. No one,
no stranger has ever given Chloe offree treats when she had four legs.
So you're upset that people are givingher attention being a three legged dog
and they didn't give her this kindof attention. She's upset that they're fawning

(27:06):
over It's like it's a form ofpity. You see her missing leg and
you're like, oh, we haveto give her extra attention. And I
truly believe that dogs deserve all thelove, no matter if they have four
legs or three legs or two legs, they're all beautiful. I have a
question. Yeah, do you evernotice that Chloe, your puppy, gets
annoyed by all of this attention?Of course, she loves it. She

(27:27):
loves the dogs, she loves thepets. She loves the pet I mean
she may even have an extra limpor two just to get up milk it.
She deserves it. And I'll tellyou, the only people that have
been consistent with constantly loving her,no matter how many legs she has are
the people at the drive through Starbucks. They don't care. They just love

(27:48):
your dogs, puccinos for every Icannot believe she's this visceral over the people,
this love. Next time you seeChloe the three leg a dog out,
ignore her apparent How would that makeyou feel? No one more Toby
