(07:18):
the news top stories at the topof the hour, hang out for a
few have you been someplace with asignificant other. Maybe you've been traveling and
then all of a sudden, somebodyrefers to your significant other as your husband
or wife. They marry you andyou're not married. How do you feel
(07:38):
about that? We'll talk about itcoming up. It's Toby and Chilli in
the Morning. Continue on a Wednesday. Have you ever been traveling with a
significant other? Ninety seven point onewash FM. We're Toby and Chilli in
the morning. You check into ahotel and they refer to your significant other
whom you're not married to, asyour husband and or wife. Yes,
has happened many times, as Ichecked into the hotel up in Boston while
(08:01):
moving my daughter Kyla back to collegeover the weekend. Okay, they didn't
assume your daughter was your significant other. No, no, no, my
significant other who actually came along onthis trip. They thought they thought we
were married, all right, Sowhen when she's referred to as missus napp,
what is your reaction? Are youlike? What the well? In
(08:22):
the past, I've been taken aback, I've cracked jokes about it to lighten
the load on the situation. Thistime around, I just kind of let
it go. Really, I wasjust like, yeah, whatever, but
like because part of you knows thatthat's probably how she's gonna end up.
She's going to be missus nap onenay. I don't know if it's that
or if I just didn't really feellike acknowledging it because we had other things
to do. I'm sure she'd loveto hear you say that, and she's
(08:45):
listening to that right now, probablygoing okay. Meanwhile, she's been writing
or her first name in your lastname since probably your second that zony,
I don't even want to hear that. But why that's something you did with
your now husband if people do sincegrade school, we like to see how
it looks on paper, if you'regoing to take that person's last name.
(09:07):
But I will say this, here'sa PSA to people in the hospitality business
or people in general. You shouldnot make that assumption, just like you
shouldn't ask a woman when she's dueunless you are certain she's pregnant. How
do you even know they're pregnant? How do you know we're married? Exactly?
I'm not wearing a ring. She'snot wearing a ring in a situation
(09:28):
like that. Just to be me, I'd say Oh, that's my brother.
Why would I you your brother? That'll teach them. Yeah, it'll
get a note put on your guestportfolio. Watch out for this one.
Don't try to be polite to him. Yeah, well this has been some
drama. How do you handle this? Eight six six, nine two seven
(09:52):
forty three sixty one. You wantto know that number? Why? Because
you might need to use it?Right now Toby and Chile's nearly impossible question,
We play our nearly impossible question whatis it? Today? According to
a recent survey, the average Americanover the age of sixty five spends forty
seven minutes a day doing this whatis it? Eight six six nine two
seven forty three sixty one hundred dollarsGiant food gift card up for grabs the
(10:16):
question one more time. The averageAmerican over the age of sixty five spends
forty seven minutes a day doing thiswhat is it? If you know the
answer, call now get it rightwhen. Our nearly impossible question is on
ninety seven point one WASHFM. Rightnow. So, we were just on
the phone with Mavis and Gaithersburg, who answered this question. According to a
(10:41):
recent survey, the average American overthe age of sixty five spends forty seven
minutes a day doing this what isit? And she knew that it was
spending time on social media. Yeah, that's an awful lot of time to
be spending online when you think aboutit. But is it though? Well
that genera, you know the generationIf you get bored, Facebook and Insta,
(11:03):
they keep you company. Yes,nothing like doom scrolling or stalking is
the case. Maybe don't know, but I'm just trying to stay involved with
my friends. Okay, that's whatwe call it now. Well, it
worked out for Mavis because she justgot one hundred dollars giant food gift card.
Congrats Mavis, and you could benext another round of our nearly impossible
question here tomorrow morning. What Tobyin Chili in the morning on ninety seven
(11:26):
point one? Wash up them andMavis, you enjoy spending all of that
one hundred dollars giant gift card inAspen Hills Silver Spring coming up in minutes.
Top Stories at the top of thehour is Toby in Chili in the
Morning continues on this Wedneshait Top StoriesTop of the Hour, The former leader
(11:46):
of the Proud Boys is going tospend more than two decades behind bars.
Enrique Tario and three others of thefar right group were found guilty of seditious
a conspiracy earlier this year. Yesterday, a judge sent since Tario to twenty
two years in jail, which happensto be the longest sentence handed down related
(12:07):
to the twenty twenty one US Capitolriot. A Prince George's County police officer
has been suspended after a viral videoshows him embracing a woman and then joining
her in the back seat of apatrol car. The incident occurred Monday night
at a park in Oxon Hill. The officer has been identified as Corporal Francesco
(12:30):
Marlette. An investigation is underway.Housing that's exclusively single family could be eliminated
under a draft proposal before planners inAlexandria. It would allow the construction of
multi unit buildings on sites where onlyone was previously permitted, but critics say
the measure does nothing to lower housingcosts themselves. Commander's fans, You're going
(12:54):
to notice a lot of changes atFedExField when you arrive for Sunday's season opener.
One of the big upgrades is theaddition of a dozen new food vendors.
The stadium is also boasting state ofthe art video boards and a brand
new sound system. And according toa new survey, the average American spends
eighteen thousand dollars a year on thingswe don't need. Of that eighteen thousand
(13:20):
dollars, about thirty seven hundred isspent on impulse buys. And because we
have so much extra stuff, twentyone percent say they've got to rent a
storage unit to keep everything that won'tfit in their hall. Truth forecast for
today another really hot day, sunnywith the heat advisory between noon and seven,
highs around ninety nine right now, seventy three degrees in hights. I
(13:45):
want to know who's been poking aroundmy house that came up with all of
this unbelievably unbelievable. I'm just likeshocked by this data, Toby Until in
the morning at seventy seven point oneWASHFM coming up in just a few minutes.
Now that most people are back towork, what is the most coveted
(14:05):
work perk? You know, yougo to work, you hope that you
have this What might it be?Well, thanks to science, we now
know you'll find out what it iscoming up. It's Toby in Chili in
the morning continues eight six sixty ninetwo seven forty three sixty one. If
you want to jump in now andget involved. It's the most desired office
(14:26):
perk. But it's not a perkthat you would think about. Ninety seven
point one WASHFM Tobby in Chilian inthe Morning at eight six six nine two
seven forty three sixty one. Sothink about work perks, Chili. What
are some perks at the office thatyou enjoy? Free food not bad?
Right when they have snacks. Yeah, they did bring in a good breakfast
yesterday from Silver Diner. I waslike, well that I'll have some bacon,
(14:48):
thank you. That is that numberone. No, no, believe
it or not. While free foodin the office is a very great perk,
right or free beverages, free call, even it looks like the ultimate
office amenity. According to a studyby Future Workplace says that employees want natural
(15:11):
lighting and the look out the windowsat the great outdoors as an office.
Ah, so basically not what thisstudio in here is. No, this
is a closet. This is acloset with one window. That's about movie
No. Two and a half threetall. And that's not a window.
That's a slit. No, butthat doesn't that's not a window that even
looks outside. That's a window thatlooks into the hallway. We don't see
(15:33):
what it looks like outdoors. Well, we used to be able to.
And I and I I get Ithink why people may want that is because
there is something to be said aboutbeing exposed to natural light that directly impacts
your mood and your productivity and allthat. But on the flip side,
(15:54):
don't you get fomo when you lookoutside and it's a beautiful day and you're
stuck indoors. Not really if Idon't see the ground and I see people
like having fun or playing games outsideor whatever, So you're just gonna keep
looking at the sky. Normally wehave like a fourth floor, fifth or
sixth floor view, so we're lookingout the window at the sky, the
sun rise to you know, toyour point. But but you're not out
(16:15):
there. You know, you're right, you're not out there, And there
is something that gives you a littlebit of hope or optimism when it comes
to being able to look outside. You see a beautiful day, You're like,
I can't wait to go soak upsome sun. Oh I can't.
So maybe that makes you work faster. Okay, so then you get out
there enjoy it more or more efficiently, so you can, you know,
maybe get out there earlier rather thanlater, you know what I mean.
(16:37):
I get that. Yeah, Andthen you know, you go home and
then you work at home and it'slike you're working in a cave and you
know you don't see the sun,and it's like, oh yeah, no,
two managers put everybody's desk next toa window. Yeah, right,
and by the way, and ifyou work from home, move close to
a window, because that in itselfis a perk that some offices like ours,
well we don't have. If youwant to read more Toby and Chili
(17:00):
page washfm dot com coming up injust a few minutes here at ninety seven
point one WASHFM. You know howyou go to a hotel and they put
like really cool stuff in the bathroom, like shampoo, and sometimes they put
hair conditioners and body wash bottles ofstuff. Right, Well, you know
sometimes people take those, you knowwhen they leave. Yeah, they do.
(17:21):
And now that hotels have been puttingthem in bigger, bigger and bigger
bottles, well, what does thismean for the people who like to hoard
that stuff? That's called stealing Toby? Is it? Oh? God?
Next, stay with Toby and Chiliin the morning. From question for the
class today, is it wrong totake the hotel shampoo, the shower gels,
(17:44):
the conditioners, those bottles from yourhotel bathroom when you leave Toby and
Chili in the morning. It's ninetyseven point one WASHFM. So, as
you know, last week I movedmy daughter back to Boston for college,
and we stay at a hotel aroundthe corner from her college. Literally it's
right across the street, so itmakes move in very easy. Well,
anyway, chilly in that hotel, they've kind of upgraded these shampoo and shower
(18:07):
gel bottles from the little small minibottles to these big bottles that were just
there in the shower and buy thesink. Well, I helped myself to
them on checkout the full size ones. Yeah, you're supposed to take full
size bottles. They're doing that tosave money. I bet they're just trying
to get people to share the fullsize bottles instead of taking the little guys.
(18:30):
So you mean I should have leftthe ones in the bathroom that we
had used. I mean for theday that we were there, I haven't
seen it. I'd feel a littleuncomfortable because they're huge, but you do
your thing and take a set.Well. And on the way out,
I ran into the housekeeping person andI said to her, I go,
hey, can I get four ofthose bottles? Like one of each?
(18:52):
And she's like, sure, noproblem, we throw the other ones away
anyway. And I'm like, waita minute, what she told you?
She throws the yeah, so yeah, go ahead, take it, well,
green steirt ten dollar bill. AndI took another set. And you
know, the hotel I was stayingat, I don't want to and I
know that a lot of hotels actuallysell their sets right through things, and
(19:14):
the one at this particular hotel, the set of those three bottles is like
one hundred and twelve bucks. Let'sjust say I left with two of them.
Oh, that means I almost recoupedthe room rate. Now I was
concerned that I was doing something wrong. I went on the internet to check
this out, and the internet saysthat taking these bottles is generally considered acceptable.
Generally generally Yeah, and now we'llknow why when hotels stop offering them
(19:38):
all together. Thoughts on this?Have you ever taken those big gel bottles
from the hotel bathroom eight six sixnine two seven forty three six two one.
Maybe if if you work at ahotel, do you know the rule
on this? What's accepted? What'snot accepted? Thoughts? Hit us up.

We've got another heat advisory and effectfrom noon until seven today with highs around
ninety nine. Right now at seventytwo degrees in Fairfax Chilian Mars got the
news. Thank you very much,Tilby Nap that's me. And if you
are on anxiety meds or medication foranything, have you thought about weaning off
of them? Well, now thatyou've got top stories at the top of
the hour, stay there because somebody'stalking about this with their doctor. What
(22:12):
does this mean for you? Well, you might want to listen. You'll
find out coming up, as Tobyand Chili in the Morning continues. If
you're on any form of medication, anxiety meds, mental health meds, maybe
just meds, you might want tolisten to this. Ninety seven point one
Wash FM. We're Toby and Chiliin the Morning. Have you ever thought
about weaning off of those meds?Chili? This is something that's popped into
(22:33):
your head recently. What are youand your doctor working to accomplish getting off
my anxiety medication? This is notthe first time I've been through this.
The first time I started taking anxietymeds was right after my son was born,
almost ten years ago. I hadsome serious postpartum stuff happening. But
then after a year I got offof it and I was quote unquote fine,
(22:56):
Toby until the pandemic yeah, Yes, that forced lots of us into
a place where we well, someof us who are extroverted really don't like
to be told to stay at home. Yes, very overwhelming gloom and joom.
What's going to happen with the world, Intrusive thoughts, spiraling thoughts.
It got to a point where Irealize, oh, I recognize this.
(23:17):
I need help, And so Iasked for help, and I went back
on anxiety medication and I was fine. I was able to function okay.
Recently, though, I wanted totry weaning off of it. And I
say weaning because it's never a goodidea to stop cold turkey. You need
guidance from a doctor. So youdo absolutely, in fact, on any
medication mental health meds. Know what'sit called antibiotics? You shouldn't just just
(23:44):
quit, yes, without consulting thepeople who know these things. And because
I go to therapy on a regularbasis, I thought, I feel okay,
which, of course I feel okaybecause I've been taking anxiety meds.
But I also wanted to be ableto cry again. It's very cathartic for
me to and when I'm on thismedication, but I don't quite get there.
And so we change the dosage aboutthree weeks ago. I had a
(24:07):
good crier too since then, andI'm still feeling okay, right, So
so far, so good. Isn'tthat interesting that a med a medicine can
suppress your ability to do something fundamentallyhuman. It's very bizarre odd, you
know, even even with my ownmental health meds, I know I can
(24:29):
tell when it's like kicking in andkeeping me on this kind of straight and
narrow path or whatever, I don'tfeel creative. Yeah, well, and
in my case, I just therewould be moments where I'm like, I
really want to cry, but no, it's not quite there. And now
I'm there. So make sure we'restocked up on tissues in here, sure,
because Weepy MoMA's coming back. TheWeepy Mama is coming back. Bring
(24:52):
the tissues. In the meantime, keep Chili's therapist's phone number on standby in
case we need to up the dosageagain, just saying one more. Toby
