made it through the week, because it was a busy week,
and when you know, you have a chance to exhale. Yes,

So I'm in a good mental space as we get
into this Friday. But much like you, I am worried
about any shoes which might drop. Yeah, you know, and
(01:37):
there's always a shoe that could drop. But anyway, we'll
worry about that if it happens, right, because that's what
we do.

if you do have plans, you're probably really looking forward
to the peace and quiet.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Well, not only that, but you don't want your kids
on devices for hours and hours a day. So sending

a month of freedom. Don't get me wrong. I love
my kids, but it's nice to have a break from
all the constant fickering and yelling at this endless nonsense.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
That sounds more like a sleep away camp when they're
out of sight.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
Thank you for the call, William. Rebecca, Good morning in Alexandria.
What do you have planned for the kids this summer?
Speaker 5 (06:57):
I got adventure Mondays lined up aka me desperately googling
free stuff nearby. There'll be cereal for dinner nights, the doom,
the tent at gardening that somehow becomes a mud war,
and one chaotic camping trip where I forget the tent
poles but swear it's part of the memory.
Speaker 2 (07:15):
Making sounds chaotic, but they are core memories.
Speaker 1 (07:18):

ninety seven point one wash FM. If it brings you
all the fields, it must be our feel good Friday
story for this morning and today we go over to
Herndon High School. At the start of his senior year
at Herndon High James Clouda couldn't even walk. During a
hiking trip in Utah, James accidentally fell into boiling mud
(10:26):
and he was burned badly over half of his body
and he spent two months in the hospital, went through
multiple surgeries, and then faced the reality of relearning.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
How to walk.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Even one single step left him exhausted and discouraged.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
And what's great is James just refused to give up.
With months of intense physical therapy and determination, he slowly
regained his strength, and by the time the auditions came
around for the school's production of Footloose, James not only
was able to walk, but he said he was ready
to dance, and he ended up getting the lead role
Ofren McCormick, shocking the director and his peers. He had
(11:06):
an incredible performance, and the director called his audition amazing
and praised James for turning such a challenging journey into
such a beautiful triumph.
Speaker 1 (11:15):
Opening night was so emotional for everybody involved, especially for
James and his dad, who called it a miracle to
see his son on stage. Now, James has gone on
to graduate with an advanced diploma and now is planning
to spend this summer helping others as a counselor at
a Utah burn camp. Wow, hoping to offer kids hope
(11:36):
to overcome struggles like he did.
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Wow. That's an incredible story, which is why we shared
it on this Friday, and you can read more about
it on the Toby and Chili page at waschefm dot com.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
And if you've got a story that feels good that
needs to be shared on a Friday just like this one,
feel free.
