Toby and Chilly Mornings on demand on ninety seven point
one wash out.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Just waking up in the morning feels good in itself.
Toby and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven point
one Watch Chef m Welcome to this Thursday morning, March sixth,
in the Nation's capital. Are you feeling good this morning?
Because we did not have tornadic activity? That was the
word of the day.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Yes, I was actually going to say that we didn't
lose power because there was. Anytime there's high winds, there's
always a chance of losing power, but we did not.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Are we out of the woods when it comes to
the weather today? What we feel good about the weather
through the rest of the day?
Speaker 3 (00:33):
Yeah, today's fine, I think. But what I was going
to say is I took a peek ahead. Did you
do this yet for next week?
Speaker 4 (00:38):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Yeah about next week?
Speaker 3 (00:40):
Seventies? I mean I'm excited. Sorry, I mean, you know,
seventies dance.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
And that's called that's called little things make you feel
good in the morning. Hell yeah, the weather might be bipolar,
but hey, seventies, we'll take it for a few minutes.
During spring, especially after a full blown winter, yeah, which
has been nuts good. Is that why you're feeling good,
Why I'm feeling good? For me, I'm feeling good knowing
that I'm going to try my best to get a
(01:09):
nap in today. I've been very sleep deficient all week.
I've had just so much stuff going on, like just
just personal life stuff after the show. But it can
be all consuming, and you've got to make time for you,
right and I don't do that enough. So I'm looking
forward to today at least for a little bit, just
(01:29):
taking a minute back away from everything else and letting
my mind just go see y'all when I wake up,
you know. So it's little things like that, take the
time for you, celebrate the fact that it's going to
be seventy next week, and if you're tired, take it
back for yourself because you have to make you a priority.
(01:52):
And I don't know that sometimes we all do that.
But anyway, just some thoughts to help you feel good
as we get into a brand new day, if you
get some of them. The Veil's good call us at
eight sixty six ninety seven forty three sixty one. It
is ninety seven point one. Watch FM Top stories at

about you and what you might be going through and
what it might be like to be you starting a
brand new day, wondering what the day might bring, no
matter whether it's good or bad.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
So we try to get you into a better head space,
maybe motivate you a little bit with a morning mindset quote.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
This would be your morning mindset from the poet Roca,
who says, no feeling is final, Keep going. Roca, the
poet says, no feeling is final. Keep going. You might
be scared, confused, frustrated, happy, whatever. I'm not sure what
you're going through today. But here's what I do know
(04:56):
is that that feeling, if it may not seem like
it's good now, it's not final. So press on, keep going,
keep it moving. As some people would say, do like
Roca says, remember that no feeling is final. Keep going.
Hopefully that helps you as you get out of bed,
you start a new day. Maybe you make that drive
on sixty six or two seventy. That's your morning mindset
(05:18):
for this Thursday. And if it helped well, you can
read it again and take it and share it with
somebody who might need it, like you. Toby and Chilli
Page WASHFM dot com. It is ninety seven point one WASHFM.
Lots of people talking about being petty yesterday. We ran
out of time, but oh some of the stories.
Speaker 3 (05:39):
Yeah, about being petty around an x. Apparently Tamo, she
wants to share what her ex did to her recently.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Don't move you don't want to miss this. It's ninety
seven point one wash yesterday with Toby and Chilly in
the morning. Here on ninety seven point one wash FM.
We were talking.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
About how you have been petty around an ex, and
boy did we hear some good stories. And it looks
like we got one more in DC.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Tamo is here. Tamo tell us about this pettiness. What happened?
Speaker 4 (06:12):
So? I thought it was somewhat of an amicable divorce
that I had last spring until I you know, we
have talked in a couple of months, my ex husband
and I and I'm sorting through my mail yesterday. You know,
obviously it's getting forwarded from his old house in Richmond.
Speaker 5 (06:29):
Where I used to reside, and he wrote.
Speaker 4 (06:32):
On the letter instead of no longer at this address
or return to sender, it just had no such person
in big red ink. Wowoh yeah, So like I just
don't even exist anymore.
Speaker 3 (06:46):
You are dead to him, Tamo dead dam?
Speaker 2 (06:49):
That was that petty or was that jaded? Because it
sounds like it's a little bit of both.
Speaker 4 (06:54):
Here's like the tie in and like respect on the
Full Circle comedy. The last thing he ever said to
me was you're dead to me. So for him to
write no such person on the letter, I was like, okay, Like,
way to see a bit through.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
Yeah, that's exactly right. Way to see that promise through.
You do not exist, honey, besides laughing, probably is there
anything else that you would do to react to that?
Speaker 4 (07:19):
Like?
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Do you call him out on it? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Because we have mutual friends on Instagram and I have
chosen not to speak of him publicly. I was like,
you know what, this is too much, So I put
it on Instagram for everybody to see because they know
where that mail came from.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
You went beyond petty to putting somebody on blast.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Yeah, two can play at this game.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
That's right. He fired the first shot, Toby exactly.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
Wonder y'all are divorced?
Speaker 4 (07:47):
Does that sound a healthy and not toxic at all?
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Right?

President Trump is reportedly planning to sign an executive order,
possibly as soon as today, that would effectively shut down
the Department of Education. The draft order will reportedly direct
Education Secretary Linda McMahon to take all steps permitted by
law to facilitate the department's closure. The Trump administration says
automakers are going to get a one month exemption from
(08:30):
tariffs on goods from Canada and Mexico. He reportedly granted
that exemption so they are not at an economic disadvantage.
The US Attorney for DC plans to aggressively address gun
violence in the city. The Make DC Safe Again initiative
will include keeping suspects in jail prior to trial and
also handing down harsher sentences when they are convicted. The

Broadway musical Hamilton pulling out of plans to perform at

shake up of the Art instaitution's leadership. The show had
played at the Kennedy Center back in twenty eighteen and
twenty twenty two, and according to a recent study, people
who have surgery on a Friday face a twelve percent
greater risk of death and complications. It's called the weekend effect,

fewer people on Saturdays and Sundays. Forecast today there is

you reuse them? Yes or no? Maybe you've taken a
(09:49):
part in this debate before. We'll talk a little bit
about why this is coming up and we'll get to
the debate coming up in minutes with Toby and Chilly
in the morning. You stay right there, Hi, Chilly and
Chilly in the morning. It is six twenty five here
at ninety seven point one. Wash them on this Thursday,
March sixth Thank you for letting us hang with you
this morning, and if you fired up on talkbacks signed
(10:12):
into your free iHeart app, you can jump into this
conversational leave Chili and I message because we've been having
a very spirited debate in here about Ziplock bags. Can
you reuse them? Yes? Or no? Chili? What say you?
Speaker 3 (10:25):
No? Forget about what say I? Ziplock, the company who
makes it says yes you can. You can safely wash
and reuse them. And I've been doing that for years.
Don't trust it?
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Nope?
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Is there real? Okay? What comes? Why don't you reuse
a bag?
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Because I don't know where that bag's been in your pantry,
even if it's been in my pantry and I've put
stuff in it, and maybe you bring me something in
a Ziplock bag.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
No, not me bringing you something. Let's say your stuff.
If you use it put grapes in them, you're gonna
throw it out after just putting a few grapes in there?
Speaker 2 (11:01):
Yeah? Yeah, I mean it's like, why reuse the bag?
You buy boxes of bags for a reason, so you
have many of them, and reusing them to me is
just something that I honestly can't wrap my head around.
I don't know how people do it.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
It feels wasteful and it's expensive. Those the zippy bags
are expensive. And I will say I don't put messy
things in there. Like I said, the grape example is
exactly one time in someone's lunch, I could just rinse
that out, wash it and put more grapes in there.
Or if it's just little crumbs that are in there
from something, just shake the crumbs out, clean it and
(11:36):
use it again.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
But what if I don't like what kind of sandwich
or whatever you had in there that is all crumbed up.
What if I'm not a fan of the cheese that
least the residue.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
Then then throw it out. That's your business. I'm not.
First of all, I'm not bringing you my sandwich and
zip block for you to use. I'm talking about for
my personal use. And they do say you should not
put raw meat, fish, or eggs in any of those bags.
You got to toss those like there's no washing, that's
too dangerous. I'm not messing with no salmonella. I'm talking
(12:06):
to crumbs and some grapes.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
And maybe that's it. Maybe it's the fear of the semonilla,
no matter where it might come from, because I can't
see it, doesn't matter if I wash it or not.
There's a reason to me why boxes come with multiple bags.
They even have the store broad generic brand that you
can save money on that way. But I just don't know.
I don't know. Maybe you have some thoughts. That's what
talkback is for. Tap speak send if you're sunned into

going to cross the Carmen and that's what it takes.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
I don't know how they got chosen. You actually said
to me yesterday you think Gail might be going because
maybe she's covering it for TV. I don't know, like
Gail King and space and not Oprah Shatner did this.
Do you remember how emotional Shatner?
Speaker 2 (17:15):
Yes, I do remember the Mother Earth I looked down

Speaker 3 (17:19):
If you could choose any celebrity to go to space with.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
Luke Skywalker, Mark Hamill should go into space, that.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Is an excellent choice. Yes.
Speaker 2 (17:28):
Actually, his adventures have been the stuff of dreams for decades.
Literally decades. When you think about it, I mean the
man he's Luke Skywalker.
Speaker 3 (17:39):
That's right.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
Why wouldn't you want to take Luke Skywalker with you
into space?
Speaker 3 (17:45):
And what about you George Clooney? Hello, one on one
time with Clooney? Who'd say no to that?
Speaker 2 (17:49):
Go figure? You would say, George Cloney, I should have

Speaker 3 (17:54):
That's right, you should have.

Charity just left us a talkback message. She's from Warrenton

Charity, thank you for the message of Sabrina Carpenter.

It's Toby and Chili's crazy first date.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
Good morning, Mike and Springfield. You've got Toby and Chili
in the morning, and I hear you have a crazy
first date story for us. What's up?
Speaker 5 (19:02):
It was twenty thirteen. My friend was getting married. I
was a groomsman, she was a bridesmaid. We met the
first time right after they had just gotten married, and
the reception was on a booze cruise in Annapolis. We
had some beverages and started making out on the dance
board and then physically ran into her parents while we're
making out. And now we're married and.
Speaker 3 (19:24):
Have two kids. Okay, so that wasn't even technically your
first date. That was your first meet and hook up.
Speaker 5 (19:29):
First meet, first date, first hook up, first everything.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
Must have been one incredible booze cruise. Are you sure
it wasn't the booze that helped influence the decision making gear?
Speaker 5 (19:39):
It was maybe the booze, maybe the uniform, but it
all worked in my favor, And.
Speaker 3 (19:44):
Did the parents still bring up the fact that y'all
were acting some sort of way while you were on
this cruise together.
Speaker 5 (19:50):
I don't know if they really remember, but there's a
great picture of the then bride and groom from their
reception and in the background, in like the shadows, see
us just really making out. So it's a great memory.
There's an even better picture of us as bridesmaid and groomsmen,
not looking too happy walking down the aisle, and then
superimpose that next to the picture of us as husband
(20:11):
and wife. We look much happier.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
How it started, how it's going. Oh yeah, you can

I would probably bring someone fun like Jack Black.
Speaker 3 (23:27):
I'd be really nervous, but he would be making me
laugh so much that I wouldn't even care what was
going on. I'd be distracted, and it would be perfect. Rachel,
thank you for the call, Jack Black.
