Speaker 1 (00:04):
Ten Takes is a production of the NFL in partnership
with iHeartRadio. Ten Takes you clicked, I love you for
it's Thank you so much for the suggestions. Last week
I talked about my wife and I are having a
hard time finding a TV show that we both like together.
I like intense stuff, she likes light stuff. A lot

(00:26):
of you guys sent the Lincoln Lawyer. We're going to
try to check that out, especially since my wife is
a lawyer. I don't know if that'll make it hate
it more or like it more, but we're trying, and
we're helping, and we're trying to get better. We're trying.
Thank you guys for the suggestions. I appreciate it. I'm
not going to waste your time. Ten Takes in ten
minutes every single week. Start the clock. Take number one.
The Charges are going to the playoffs. You guys already

(00:48):
know that. I've said it all season. They're gonna win
eleven games. They're seven and three right now. They're going
to finish eleven and six. And it's really really cool
to watch them last night because it was a slow
motion car crass that we've seen from the Chargers for
I don't know thirty years. Oh my god, they got
great fantasy numbers and touchdowns this and fireworks this, and
then they completely wet their pants in the second half
and charger their way out of a win. Charger is

(01:09):
a verb. We've used it for years on Good Morning Football.
They're gonna charger this up, don't charger in the fourth quarter.
In fact, before Scott Hanson was doing on Red Zone,
we used to say the Witching Hour was always the
Chargers hour because there was Phil Rivers. Teams with great
players and all pros and you know who everybody defense offense,
they would always charger it up. At the end, it
felt like this team didn't charge it up. And it's

(01:31):
because the coach. I've said it before. The day that
they hired Jim Harbaugh was one of the best days
in Chargers history. They've had other coaches come in and
try to uncharger them, and even coaches that you know,
had were pedigree and had great resumes. Jim Harbaugh is
an alien. He's one of one. The fact that the
Chargers were about to land him means they're gonna uncharge her.
I don't know what they're gona happen when they get

(01:51):
to the plaoffs, they may win, they may not, but
book the Chargers for a playoff game. And I've said
this since Week one, Take number two. The Bengals I
think are maybe the most incredible bad team of the
last twenty five years. Pure electricity, fireworks and football just
like you want. Don't miss the Bengals game. They're always
so fun and they almost never win. It's fun. They're

(02:14):
one of the best bad teams I have ever seen,
so fun to watch. Last night was the same deal.
They're down and Collinsworth was on it, and I have
to give him credit. He's like the Bengals offense is
working the best when they just decide, let's just start
bombing away three pointers, never mind working into the block
or trying to get to the free throw line, just
start shooting threes from the logo and see if they

(02:34):
go in. And in the second half they started going in.
For the Bengals always eventually go in. And then they
came up short and they lose like they always do.
We have to let them go. They're not going to
make some run of the playoffs because they're four and seven.
They're not gonna win six in a row. But I
love watching them every single week. I hope they don't
shut it down in bench, Borrow and Chase. Maybe eventually,
but in the meantime, one of the best bad teams
I've ever seen. Take number three. The Bills did not

(02:55):
make a statement last night. They did not plan a parade.
They did not heal the world. They did not make
a miracle. They did something now that Josh Allen has
done four times. They beat the Kansas City Chiefs. And
typically it can be a little frustrating with Alan. You
want him to give you some sort of human reaction
and excitement. Josh, big win at home. How do you feel?

(03:15):
Just another game on the schedule and we're taking one
game at a time, just trying to get better. But
in this case, it's exactly how we should act. I
loved how we should act, and I think everyone should
take a cue in the whole Bill's Nation and Bill's
Mafia from how Josh Allen acts. Don't do backflips for
beating the Chiefs in the regular season. Don't do it.
You've done it before, you'll do it again. It is
not a massive success. It is not planning the American

(03:37):
flag on the moon. You beat the Chiefs. You were
better than them, You had a better roster than them yesterday,
you had better coaching than them yesterday. And I loved it,
and shout out to Sean McDermott for sand to hell
with this. We're not going to kick a field goal
with a couple of minutes left and go up five.
If we go up five, we're gonna definitely lose. You
don't want to be up five against my homes. Touchdowns
are worth six. He went for it on fourth and two,

(03:57):
and they made the right decision. They snapped the neck.
You have to do that to beat a really good team.
I hate it when teams take half me. Well, you know,
the analytics here says, go up by five because of
how our defense is playing. Who cares, you know? Who
needs to learn how to do that? Take number four
the Chicago Bears. I have no take. I have no
words when something like that happens to a team you're

(04:19):
emotionally connected to, as I am, despite myself growing up
in the Chicago Land area. As they say, it's almost
impossible to have no reaction to a block field goal
against the Packers on the final play of the game.
Now that reaction might be screaming. It might be shocked,
it might be sadness, it might be profanity. I promise
you I had no reaction when the Packers blocked that kick.

(04:41):
I didn't even blink. It was like Doctor Chilton and
Sounds of the Lambs saying to Hannibal Lecter, his posts
never got above eighty five, even when he ate her
tongue that they're turning people connected to the Bears into sociopaths.
You don't feel anything. There's not even the satisfaction of
a negative reaction. There's just no reaction. And I went

(05:02):
pretty deep on this Good Morning Football. I hated how
Maddy Refluse managed the last minute of the game, just
like I hated it how he managed the last minute
of the Commander's game. Caleb is cooking. He has a
hot hand. He is more confident than he has ever
been in his entire career, all a few months of it,
and they just sat around and let the clock tick
down because they were so sure that a forty six

(05:24):
yard field goal would be made, and they could have
run another play, They could have run two more plays
if they really wanted to. They had another time out,
and it's just in those moments as a head coach
at the end of the game, when the rival is
here and the stakes are there and the stadium's buzzing,
where it doesn't matter what your pedigree is, or what's
your experiences, or what your bedside manner is, or what
your resume is. You just need to be a grown

(05:47):
up and make a fearless decision in a tough situation.
Some people can, some people can't. I don't think he can.
Most of these great head coaches in the league right now,
they're one of two species. They're vibe is either they're
one of the smart guys, they're one of the tough guys.
I don't think the Bears either. I don't. And in
the most important moment against their most important opponent, he said,

(06:10):
always should be good. You know, they were stacking the line,
so we didn't want to run the ball. Well, then
throw the ball, coach Caleb Williams is ready, throw the ball.
Call it time out. Get ten yards closer, get five
yards closer. Have you seen the report from ESPN that
they went around talking to the Packers field goal block
team that said Kyro Santos was kicking it low all
day and they were surprised. They expected the Bears to

(06:31):
run another play even they expected it, just like the
commanders expected them to call a time out for the
hell Mary. I just I don't know. There's leaders, they're
strong guys, there's tough guys, they're smart guys. I feel
like the Matt Aberflus is that guy at the end
of Private Ryan crying in the stairwell and can't act.
It's just really, really bad. And I don't like to
say fire this guy called us for this guy's job.

(06:52):
It's just not my lane. That was tough Take number five.
I don't think the Ravens Steelers is a rivalry. My
expectation of a rivalry is there's some back and forth.
This team wins, that team wins, this team wins, that
team wins. I don't think Bears Packers is a rivalry.
Don't confuse history with rivalry. If you can't talk about
the matchup and the quote unquote rivalry without referencing retired players,

(07:13):
it's not a rivalry. And the Steelers have beating the
Ravens eight out of nine times, That to me, is
not a rivalry. And I know everyone is very low
to criticize Lamar for anything, and he has very passionate fans,
and he's really really emblematic of this franchise. I love Lamar,
you love Lamar. He plays really bad against the Steelers.
He doesn't play well against the Chiefs either. So you're

(07:35):
the MVP. You're great, you have amazing highlights, you seem
like a really good guy. But just factually, that's not
my opinion. Look it up. He plays some of his
worst football routinely against his biggest rivalry. Take number six.
I don't think Justin Tucker's a Hall of Famer. I
was kind of arguing with Strega this morning about this
on an NFL network because every time Justin Tucker comes
out there like it's the most accurate kicker in NFL history,

(07:57):
and Peter, who is a really respected Hall of Fame
opinion as is like, oh, I think he's in. He
might have been it. You can kick your way out,
especially that position where to put a kicker in the
Hall of Fame, it's fine, but you got to jump
a lot of other positions and lineman and quarterbacks and
tight ends and receivers, and that's fine, but you can
kick your way out. And if he finishes his career
like he is right now, where he's completely in his

(08:17):
head and can't make a kick, you can kick your
way out. Also, I don't even think he's the best
kicker of his generation. I think it's Harrison Bucker who
was out yesterday. But the Chiefs lost anyway. Take number seven,
the Steelers of the number one threat to the AFC title.
Right now, I have as the Steelers, I like the Bills.
The Chiefs always matter. You can go on and on
until Russell Wilson actually loses a game as the starter
of the Steelers. You have to acknowledge that, right and

(08:39):
you want to say, well, they didn't even score a
touchdown yesterday, I know, and they still won. He made
his worst plays made as a Steeler and the touchdown,
the interception of the back of the end zone. It
was not great. They had six field goals and they
still won against an MVP and alleged AFC front runner.
Maybe it'll be Buffalo. We've been down that block many times.
I like Pittsburgh right now. Take number eight. My favorite
species of team this time of year is the come

(09:01):
running team. You know, this team that has this crappy record,
spent the first couple months of the season just floundering,
and then they find something and they get locked in
and they go on a tear at the end of
the season. It used to be what the Chargers would
do with Phil Rivers. I've beaten up on the Charges
a lot in this podcast. They won last night, but
usually they don't even make the playoffs. They could win
five out of their last six, but it was those
games they lost in September that cost them. Here's teams.

(09:23):
I like to be the CUM running team Indianapolis. Maybe
if Richardson really discovers himself, Miami would be really fun.
And they won yesterday and then Seattle out of nowhere
if they come out of the West, it's a wild card.
Amazing win by Gino yesterday and Seahawks. Keep your eye
on the CUM Running team. It's the most exciting species
of team the time of year. Take number nine. The
worst feeling in the world is talking to someone and

(09:43):
not knowing their name, or maybe talking to someone who's
the public figure and you can't remember who it is.
I'm walking through the hotel yesterday here in La I'm
in La and the Chargers are staying at the hotel.
I'm walking through the lobby. This guy says, hey, Kyle,
and I turn and it's this guy. I recognize. He's big,
he's strong, he's got Chargers gear on, but it feels
like kind of an ex player. I had like a
two minute conversation with him by how good it was

(10:04):
to see him and how good he looks, and how
great it catch up and all that. I'm like, who
the hell is this? Who the hell is I can't
figure out. I was great to see you, Kyle. As
I'm walking away, I was like, damn it, that was
Antonio Cromarty. I know that was Antonio Cromarty, and I
forgot and I feel embarrassed. And Antonio, next time I
see you, I'll give you a hug. Take number ten.
Pro wrestlers are amazing. I did a piece for CBS.
If you haven't seen it, it's on my social media.

(10:25):
I got to work with Kurt Angle. He and I wrestled.
We did moves, we did closed lines, we did leg drops.
He was so cool, so tough, so kind. I don't
know how those people do that to their bodies for
so long and survive. Love you Kurt Angle, love you
pro Wrestling, and love you guys for listening. That's the explosion.
You know what that means. It's very subtle. We end
the pod with an explosion, and that's how we do it.

(10:46):
Thank you so much for clicking, Thank you so much
for stopping Vibe. Thank you for your Lincoln Lawyer suggestions.
Can't promise we're gonna get to it, guys. It's pretty
much holiday movie season, so that takes up a lot
of bandwidth. But I will try, just as you have tried.
Thank you, ten minutes. We promise it. We'll get out
of here. Ten takes, See you next time. Ten Takes
