Speaker 1 (00:04):
Ten Takes is a production of the NFL in partnership
with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
You know what I like when this game is going on,
and inevitably you'll follow someone on social media it'll be
like this game is drunk, and it's like no drunk
is when like one team throws an interception, then the
other team on the next play. This is like the
game that you're like, hey, where'd this game go? We
haven't seen him in a couple of hours, and you
(00:44):
go back in the bathroom at the bar and they're
passed out in the stall on the ground with their
head and the toilet, and they're wearing a shirt that says,
take me drunk, I'm home.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
It was an unbelievable thing.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
I cannot believe that the Cowboys made a play, maybe
the worst play of the year, which was the McLaurin play,
and that kind of breakdown and not tackling him.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
I mean, that was an awful play. There's actually no
reason this should happen. I credited.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
I said, it's like case Keenum is the findings. I
think I said, the super dumb but you know what
I mean, this was I understand by that happened. The
Saint safety fell down. This is just like the Cowboys
just kind of let him run by. It's probably the
worst play of the year, and the Cowboys won. They
won this game when they let this play happen. It's
in a crazy, crazy, exciting finish. And here's what I
(01:28):
would say to you Cowboys fans. I'm not going to
tell you not to check the schedule this morning. If
you want to go check the schedule and find how
you can make the playoffs, that's fine.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
That's what football is all about. That's what this time
of year is all about. I'm not going to discourage you.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
From doing it and saying you're going to make a
miracle run with Cooper Ruj go ahead and look, but
I will say this, I don't recognize this Commander's team
from the one we saw in September. In early October,
we were having jokes that, like we said that Trustway,
the Commander's punter was the maytag Man because they never
need him. Trustwait, literally dressed up as the maytag Man
for Halloween because what we said on this show.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
Now I see him out there all the time.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
They constantly are using the maytech Man. Jaydan Nils does
not look like anything like early season Jane Daniels.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
I know he was hurt. He's a rookie. I don't
want to be too hard on him.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
They've lost three games in a row, and just don't
mess around and blow this thing. There's a couple really
dangerous NFC teams right now.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Seattle is certainly one of them that.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Would be happy to jump in and take a Commander's
playoff spot.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
Crazy loss yesterday, I mean really crazy.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
That game was thrown up in the bathroom in the
second quarter, it felt like. But Commanders, just be very,
very careful on this thing because I thought you were
a great defensive team too.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
You haven't been that either. Listen.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
I predicted the beginning of the season that Josh Allen
will win MVP, and maybe he will. That's who I
think will win it at the beginning of the season.
I want Saquan to win it. I want to break
the deal here. I don't want to have quarterbacks every
single year. Guys, let's skin into superlatives. Over the last
two games, he has five hundred total yards. Only three
players ever to do it in back to back games.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Walter Payton is one of them.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
He has two touchdowns over seventy yards. Only six players
have ever done, including Barry Sanders. Mjdeve was the last one.
He is the only player ever with two seventy yard
tds in the second half. I think he has the story, guys,
he's getting the stats. Everyone says, well, Derek Henry had
two thousand yards and he didn't win the MVP. He
could never do it, then sacred. If Derek Henry couldn't
do it, Saquon can't.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Yes, he can. Dereck Henry did not have the story,
He did not have the freshness on a new team.
It was a different deal completely. But here's the story.
Forget Saquon Barkley the MVP.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
To have a running back at the MVP in twenty
twenty four, he's gonna have to run a perfect campaign.
There can be no slip ups. Last night national television check.
Now at the Ravens' late window check they play the Panthers.
Speaker 3 (03:41):
That won't do much for him at Washington. Got to
do that.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Home Versus Dallas is going to be the last stop
of the campaign tour where they just empty the bag
and try to get to all the voters. Because I
think that Home Versus Dallas I think Sirianni has the
potential to do with the Spurs did with David Robinson.
When David Robinson scored seventy one points on the final
game of the season to get the scoring title, Sirianni'd
be like, screw it, let's get Saquon's six touchdown to
(04:04):
get him the MVP. I just remember, it's not all
about handing it to the quarterback with the best stats.
Last year they gave it to Lamar even though his
stats weren't great, he was the best player on the
best team. There is a case for Saquon there. He
is a shooting star and only shooting stars.
Speaker 3 (04:21):
Break the mold. And MVP thought to do it and
last night was step one.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
But we got to run a perfect campaign and I
think it can be done. Bear's losses at this point
feel like Friends episodes. This was the one where they
ran out of time with a timeout. There's the one
where they lost on a hail Mary while their defensive
back was looking at the crowd. There's the one where
they got a field goal blocked against the Packers, the
one where they take the sack against the Vikings. And again,
(04:47):
this was they ran out of time with a timeout.
It's almost impossible to do. And this team has gone
from promising to bad to broke into historic. This is
a special Bears team, guys, in the sense that this
team will be remembered. This team, I think, actually will
be st I know, Bears fans, finally remember it, finally
remember the two thousand and one Bears team, the Mike
(05:10):
Brown team, where every single thing at the end of
a game would always seem to go their way. This
is the exact opposite of that, and it's so confusing.
It's not that they're bad, it's just they're special. They
always figure it out. Let me see some Bears. For
the love of God. Do you know that the Bears
have scored more points than their opponents this year?
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Figure that out. That's true. They've scored more points than
their opponents.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Did you know that Caleb Williams has set the all
time rookie record for passes without an interception?
Speaker 3 (05:37):
That's current.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Did you know that the Lions went nearly a month
without scoring in the second getting a point in the
second half?
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Zero second that points.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
The Bears scored twenty yesterday in the second half.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
It's all true.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
But with all of that they've lost six games in
a row. And you know what, you know, yesterday was
Thanksgiving a lot of people, including myself. I watched planes, trains,
and automobiles yesterday, and I think then the game reflected
that last night was del Griffith is clearing his sinuses
in bed and Neil Page finally he screams.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
And loses it and gets out of bed. It finally happened,
all right.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
Remember Neil Page a chicagoan, a Bears fan who references
the Bears in the movie, And I feel like Bears
finally finally get up and they start screaming, and they say,
you know, I mean, didn't you notice when you started losing?
Eventually the fans started reaching for the vomit bag. Then
they give you some kind of clue, like maybe, hey,
these guys aren't enjoying it. You know, every week is
(06:30):
not a soul crushing loss. You have to discriminate. You
choose things that are football or mildly frustrating or understandable losses.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
You're a miracle. Your losses have none of that. They're
not even understandable.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Accidentally, Honey, I like you to meet Matt Eberflus.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
He's got some interesting losses for you.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Oh, and here's a gun so you can blow your
brains out.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
You'll thank me for it.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
I could tolerate any Giants Cowboys game for hours. I
could watch Cooper Rush and Drew Lock go back and
forth with a big smile in my face.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
They'd say, how can you stand it? Let's say I've
been with Matt Eberflus. I can take anything. You know
what they say? They say, I know what you mean.
I like what we did there. Guy, whoa.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
It's like having a coach who is a chatty Cathy Doll.
I expect him to have a little string that you
pull out on this chest and snap back, except I
wouldn't pull it back and step back. He By the way,
when you're playing those little games when you just need
to make one play at the end to win the game,
here's an idea. Score a point and makes it so
much more interesting for the fans.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
That's all I got, guys. It'd be a great looking
atmosphere here. I mean, the Ravens fans are going to
be electric. They know this is not a regular game.
They don't play the Eagles very much.
Speaker 2 (07:45):
You don't see Eagles at Ravens very often, and there's
gonna be a ton of Eagles fans. There huge, huge
juice in the building because this feels like this could
be a Super Bowl preview.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Listen.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
I always love these staff and its like, well, when
Dereck Henry has this many touches, they win, and people like, so.
Speaker 3 (07:59):
Why do you just get them the ball early?
Speaker 2 (08:01):
You can, but sometimes you're behind, Like you can't just
hand to him on first and second down for the
first three series because sake one's running up and down
the field. I want to see the early Derek Henry touches.
But if they get behind, then it's Justice Hill comeing in,
and I don't think that's the game. The Ravens want
to play very very fast. Start for the Ravens, keep
the energy and keep Henry involved. If Philly gets up
ten to nothing, thirteen to three, I don't like this.
(08:22):
For Baltimore Packers, Dolph is a terrible game, guys, terrible,
absolutely awful game. I felt bad for the broadcasters in
the network, but the Packers banged in a field goal
right before halftime to go up three touchdowns.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
It's like warm up the buses, warm up the leftovers.
Whatever you want to do watch a movie and I
just credit that all to the Packers.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
It's funny Peter reference Matt Lafleur, and I know he
was referenced on the broadcast. I was going to get
up this morning and be like, how amazing is Matt
Lafleur because I saw a nugget about Lafleur. We think,
we know he's good and he wins, and he went
to Rogers and he went to Love. Do you know
in the first six seasons for a head coach, Batt
laflor has more wins than Bill Kawer, Mike Holmgren and
Andy Reid.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
He's more wins than those guys. There's one coach, ever, and.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
It's George Seaffert, who won the Super Bowl the forty
nine ers, who has more wins in his first six
seasons than Matt Lafleur. Lafleur is amazing, and I listen,
he's got to cash one of these in. He's got
to get to the super Bowl at some point. But
I mean, he's so young, and Love is so young.
It's all just so promising. I'm just very very impressed
with him, and I don't know how this is going
to shake out.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
In the North.
Speaker 2 (09:26):
We could all be sitting here and the Lions and
Packers are eliminated, and the Vikings are in the NFC
title game.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
We don't know. I have very little to say about
this game. I watched it through closed fingers. It was boring.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
The Dolphins can't play in the cold, I guess Peter
said finally to it, put us some stats.
Speaker 3 (09:40):
Is that going to end the storyline? Of course?
Speaker 2 (09:42):
Not?
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Of course, next thing in play.
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Anywhere that's even fifty nine degrees and not bring up
the shots of them in the cold.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
I would have really liked that storyline to go away.
Speaker 2 (09:51):
But the only thing that's going nowhere right now is
the twenty twenty four Dolphins weird season. They're done, They're
not making the playoffs. Time to talk about other teams.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
M HM.
