Speaker 1 (00:04):
Ten Takes is a production of the NFL in partnership
with iHeartRadio. This is the time that Herbert jumps up.

(00:25):
This is your moments.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Listen. They were road favorites in the playoffs. Like you
just don't see that if you go around up and
down this network, any other network, you those are little
prediction things. That's all lightning bolts and lightning bolt There's
no bull skull wherever the hell the Texans have. I
picked the Chargers. You picked the Chargers. That is the
all right. Let's do some history though on Herbert. Justin
Herbert is the only Chargers quarterback to ever throw a
pick six in the playoffs. Rivers never did it. On

(00:47):
and on and on. Justin Herbert has never thrown three interceptions.
Even he threw four, not even three in an NFL game.
He never threw three in a college game. He never
threw three in a high school game. And now we're
in a playoff game throwing four. Can you imagine that that?
She just doesn't do it. He doesn't throw interceptions. It's
part of his game. He's like in Rogers two point
zero and that's and then for him to come back
and be like, well the only time I've ever been

(01:07):
in the playoffs is one of the worst blowing leads
in playoff history. Watch this now, I like them, you
like them, But I think if there's certain people that
we pounce that are easy, they're low hanging fruit. Whether
it's Dak Prescott or now Jordan Love, you can't just
not be critical of Herbert because you like them, or
because your analytics person you follow us as he's talented,
or someone who grinds a lot of tape says he's

(01:29):
amazing through four picks in a playoff game. And then
there's the deal about they.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Weren't all his fault, they were in a deflections.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I totally get it. That's not how it works. Though,
you're gonna see you next fall when we start talking
about the Chargers again. No one's gonna be like but
remember those interceptions in January. One of them was up.
So he threw four picks in a playoff game and
was terrible. I don't have the energy, and I did
it yesterday again to do the Mike Tomlin thing. It's
very well documented. How I feel about that. He's been
eight years now without a playoff game. I just it's

(01:56):
so rare. That. We look at Pittsburgh and where is
this franchise headed. It seems like directionless. Even if they lose,
even if they barely the playoffs, they always have a direction.
You always know that brand what you're getting. I have
no idea who their quarterback is next year. I don't
think they do. The other key players in their offense.
George Pickens is like, it's time to be paid. I
don't know if the Steelers are gonna do that. Na

(02:18):
Gie Harris, it's time to be paid. I don't know
if the Steelers are gonna do that. This is the
pillar guys. TJ. Watt. I think he might be hurt,
but the last couple of weeks of the season did
not register a stat. He's just he's not showing up
in these games. And Baltimore's entire way of running the
offense was just messing with TJ. Watt, who I thought
was the best player in the league at any position.
So the Steelers are directionless right now. And so either

(02:38):
you go behind this head coach again and say we
still believe, we still believe, and we're just gonna keep
stomping our foot, or you do make a change. Now
you could say Mike. We're gonna look to what the
Philadelphia Eagles did at one point with Andy Reid and said,
wonderful run. But I think it might be the best
interest of both of us. It's changed and it was.
And if you say, how are you gonna replace Mike Tomlin,
well you could also have said how are going to

(02:58):
replace Bill kauerd. They're very good at doing that stuff.
Or if you want to get saucy with it, you
get on the phone and you say you want to
trade coaches, you want to trade picks for a coach
we'd like to move on with, like Tomlin and handle
it with class and dignity and maybe Pat our Walt
a little bit. Or do you just say nope, one
more season or ten more seasons. I know that he's
gone eight years about a playoff game. I know that

(03:19):
Chuck Nol never went more than four years and Bill
Kawerd never went more than three years. But we're gonna
keep continuing to do this. That's all I have. I
don't know if they're going to change coaches. A lot
of people say they shouldn't change coaches. Yeah, I say
they should at least entertain it. And at its point
it's just not working. I was so excited about what
we're gonna get from the FC next week that I
shared this picture online of the four faces and it
was it was Josh's face and Lamar's face and Mahomes

(03:42):
and c. J. Stroud Okay, And the replies were very
interesting because they started hitting me with the memes. And
the memes I were seeing. Are you know the one
where it's it's three like military soldiers with machine guns
lined up, but one of them is a clown amongst
the four and like they were making mone of the
Texans and CJ. Stroud. And then there's another one where.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Like the two like mean dragons, you know.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
W one of them is like his tongue out and
one that was like the Texans and CJ. Stroud. Did
you understand what this defense did the other night? And
do you understand how much we're going to talk about
them going out? And could they do it against the Chiefs?
I asked the NFL research. I'm like, so the Texas
have gone against some pretty good quarterbacks this year. Could
you just give me the rundown of how that went?
So you know what Herbert did? Herbert, the guy who

(04:23):
does not throw interceptions and does not really get sacked.
Did all of them the worst he's ever done in
his career. The Texas defense against Josh Allen this year.
Josh Allen went nine of thirty with an interception. It's
arguably the worst game of his career. Not a season.
Jared Goff threw five interceptions, It's arguably the worst game

(04:43):
of his career, not a season. To a takaba Iloa,
another franchise guy, three interceptions. The Dolphins scored twelve points,
arguably the worst game of his career. You want, how
about somebody totally different? A young guy Anthony Richardson Okay
went nine of nineteen and checked himself out of the game,
hope against the Texans, the worst game of his young career.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Guys, the meme is not the Dragons.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Or the Soldiers. It's about the Texans defense. And it's
that one where the grim Reaper is walking down the hallway,
opening each door and like you're dead, and you're dead,
and you're dead. And they just went to the Chargers door,
and now they're going to the big red door in
Kansas City and they got that site. Like this defense
has made some of the best quarterbacks and our sport

(05:28):
ever look ridiculous, like they don't even know how to
line up under center, including the other night. It is
an incredible run that they have had this year. And
it's the Texans. The market might be a little sleepy,
and they played some poor football and they got hammered
by Baltimore, so everyone was on the Chargers, even Las
Vegas was on the Chargers. But then you watch this defense, you,
oh my god, I think they could go to Arrowhead
and flip the table. They are that good. And it's

(05:49):
not a one time special. CJ. Stroud did not play
well for a a lot of this year. The defense
has been crushing dudes all season long. And not just
this guy or that guy, not the sleepy little AFC South.
I'm talking about the big ones, like the big dogs.
They've taken them out. They took out her, and now
they got the biggest dog of ball, common Texans defense
with the sphe watch out. There is a moment that

(06:11):
was around social media. Might have seen it that I
think just says everything. After the game, really flat, almost
listless loss, Matt Lafleur goes to his postgame press conference.
He steps up to the lectern and as he steps up,
he spills a gatorade and a water like all over
the thing, and he goes, well, that pretty much just
sums up how our knight went like that. Nothing was working.
He's even having it fumbles like in the press conference. Ye,

(06:33):
it was that kind of night. And it's listen it
starts on the opening kickoff. This is everything, This is everything. Guys.
They're barely doing the the starting lineup intros yet and
then all the people, a former Packer has the hit
of the week. There's a fumble. Peter's right. It looked
like from the overhead cam that maybe they recovered a bit.
Too bad they didn't. And it's just like you're still
kind of waking up for the game and this nobody

(06:55):
is really awake for kickoffs anymore because they're not like
they used to be. This was the huge, hugest like
Tone Center. You've seen it a million times. You've seen
it in the Super Bowls. You see in high school games.
Someone makes a big hit and the other team never
quite recovers. Tom Brady in this game is openly pointing
out people and the Packers who were trying. He was like, wow, look,
Lass Jacob knows it's a playoff game. This guy came

(07:15):
to play today, and I think Brady was triggered by it, because,
first of all, I thought Brady had a different energy
last night and it was like playoff Brady, and they
could feel the vibe. And he's in that stadium and
he's pointing out guys on the Packers who either weren't
bringing it or couldn't bring it or were hurt. Listen,
Jordan Love had nothing in this. He had nothing like that.
That was nothing. And I don't know if he's completely healthy.

(07:36):
He looked like he was hurt. His body language, his
facial expressions, we're all dour and dire, and we'll talk
about him all off season. But I just think that
Philadelphia came up against the team. It was not their day,
it was not their night. There's a radio host, Venerable Rabios,
Steve Zaban who tweeted this. He's a Packers follower too.
He goes, I mean, it would have been nice to
go to Detroit next weekend and get slaughtered without Watson, Dubbs, Reed, Jenkins,

(07:57):
Myers and Reed. But anyway, it just didn't work out.
They were hurts, they were down It looked like they
were feeling sorry for this all for a little bit,
except for a few of the guys up against a
way better team. Now, Like you know, I expected Denver
to be out matched yesterday, and they were in Buffalo.
I did not expect the Packers to be outmatched completely.
This looked like a middleweight against the heavyweight. They did
not have the punching power, they did not have the defense.

(08:19):
It seemed like maybe it was time for this season
to end by about halftime. So I don't want to
pile on the Packers too much. You know what, they
had a good season there in the playoffs. We'll see
them in the future, but we have a whole offseason
about what is Jordan love and how do they recover
from this? They killed the Rams, it said, look back
in this game, saque three hundred yards. It was just
shock and awe. I don't like that they had that

(08:40):
game already, like they already gave the butt whooping. It's
like they landed their best punch. They handed that to McVeigh.
They said, this is what we do our best. Try
to deal with it now and now weeks later McVeigh
can look at that game and see all the mistakes
he made. You want to go against this pass rush
because we can talk about week twelve. This was a
couple of days ago. This is the Rams team now.

(09:02):
And also I think the Eagles were just playing better
as a team back then. Understand when they beat the
Rams the week prior, they had just taken care of
Jaye Daniels. They've been They've beatn the Commanders. The next
week they beat.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
Baltimore like they were on fire that time.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
That was like they were maybe the best team in
the league. Now. I'll speak for the Eagles fans. I
think that they wanted Sam Darnold. I think that they
wanted the Vikings. I think that you don't want that.

Speaker 3 (09:26):
You don't want McVeigh and Stafford and Verse.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
And those young pass rushers. I think this is a
big loss added to which you want to look back
in that Eagles Rams game. I did you know who,
by far, by far was the best Eagles defensive player
that day, But you can guess it's Nikobe Dean. He
led the Eagles in tackles, tackles for a loss, sack quarterback.
He was a monster, absolute monster. He's gone now. He
will not be playing in this game. It absolutely sucks,

(09:49):
but he's gone. Also, before we're starting the show, I'm
getting into some some Eagles media Peter, and I'm readings
did they lose the Packers? I think they lost because
Nikope's hurt and Jalen is just like kind of gone.
We don't know what'sdaying on with him.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
The Jalen hurts discord is it's hot.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
They're like hot in Philadelphia right now.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
There are questions of is he concusstill? What the heck
was that? Why can't they won by by twelve points?

Speaker 2 (10:15):
I think you would have thought they lost by thirty
the way that people are reacting to that Eagles win.
So I don't see the same quarterback. I don't see
the team playing quite as well. Saquon's great and they
got great players. Don't get me wrong, like they're not
screwed or anything. But I think they're playing a different
Rams team. I don't think they're playing the Vikings and
they wish they would have. I don't think they're playing
the Packers Barkley Derek Henry, who has more pressure on

(10:37):
them this weekend. I actually think of Saquon just because
I think there's more pressure on the Eagles than there
are on the Ravens. Baltimore looses this game in Buffalo,
it's it's a little bit more palatable. You're you're on
the road, Josh Allen goes nuts and he beats you,
and Derek Henry is a running back. It really kind
of goes more towards Lamar. The Eagles lose at home

(10:58):
to the guys from LA who come into the Elements
and beat them and wrap up Saquon. I just think
there's just an explosion. I said this earlier this week.
Judging by the Philadelphia media, you would have thought they
lost in the wildcard around last week based on how
negative it is. And we have injuries here and the
quarterback's not good. I also I'm wondering if maybe the
quarterback's not good, so that's more pressure on Saquon and

(11:20):
he's not playing his best ball. I do trust Jalen
Hurts more than most people do, but this is a
Saquon game. Added the context that we took away the
Dickerson record for games like this. If you have a
thirty seven yards on fifteen carries in this game, it
was completely for notught you should have broken the record.
I think Saquon has to be the superstar at home.
I think there's a lot of pressure on him, and
I think it's just a little bit more than there

(11:41):
is on Dereck Henry.
