Speaker 1 (00:00):
So first and fifteen shotgun playfake Dac into the pocket,
steps up, throws down the middle.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
It's Todd Pickens.

Speaker 1 (00:07):
Gets away left side, fifteen, Seller's into the ten walks
in touchdown, Dallas, Holy cow. George Pickens somehow broke away
from everyone and trotted into the end zone for thirty
seven yard touchdown.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Oh, you never know what's gonna happen when George Pickens
gets the ball, or when you're gonna watch George Pickets
in primetime at all. He might get a penalty after
scoring the touchdown. He might break a couple ankles. He
might be the first Cowboys receiver since at least nineteen
ninety one to top one hundred yards receiving in the

(00:44):
first half of a game in which he did not
start because he was presumably being disciplined. Yes, it is
the Monday Night preview, Greg Rosenthal. That was Brad Sham
on kr LD. And that was an easy Cowboys win
thirty three to sixteen, a game that didn't really feel
as close as the final score. Nick shook the Cowboys

(01:08):
even in a game that frankly wasn't that interesting.

Speaker 4 (01:11):
And we're going to do some news.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
There was a lot of big injury news and love
everyone that's joining us live on YouTube after that game.
We're going to take your questions in the chat after
we do the game and some news in a game
that wasn't that interesting, shook. I do like that the
Cowboys offense does make it interesting by benching their two
receivers CD Lamb and George Pickens for the first drive

(01:33):
of the game and then letting them back in to
completely dominate a hapless Raiders defense.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
I never thought you'd be one for the manufactured drama.
I didn't take you as a trash TV viewing type,
but apparently that's where we are. Yeah, I mean, the
good thing about this is that the Cowboys offense got
back to looking like they were supposed to look like
they have not looked over the last couple of games,
and that alone powered them to what really was a
runaway victory was not as close as the score indicated.

(02:03):
And the funniest part I think about it to me
is the fact that it's George Pickens, the guy who's
not on the field, like you said, for that first drive.
They don't really play a part in the second drive.
Agends and Dak fumble and then after that they just
light up the Raiders defense. Pickens leads them in receiving
and he produces the best highlight of the night, which
is the one that we just played right there.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah, the other highlights they were almost too easy. We'll
actually get to it first because it really hits on
the theme that I wanted to touch on with this game.
We won't spend a ton of time on this game
with the Cowboys. We'll talk about their future because four
five and one a couple of big games coming up
against the Eagles and the Chiefs in national windows. They

(02:42):
have an offense and now with Quinnon Williams, maybe a
defense to compete in those games. But yeah, Pickens ends
up with one forty four in a touchdown on eleven target,
ceed lamp sixty six yards in a touchdown and would
have had a second touchdown and a forty burger late
in this game for the Cowboys, but Dak and him
could not connect and they wide open fourth down call
right near the goal line. Let's go to the CD

(03:04):
Lamb touchdown because it was part of a trend of
the night where it was just preposterously easy for the Cowboys.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
Don't know what tests here to Ceedee Lamb. I think, yep,
you think of the same thing.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
I was right, fake toss right, He's looking Ceedee Lamb
right on, You're thinking the same thing.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
He just got pulled the marrow and.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Lonnie Johnson looked like there was miscommunication and Kirky was
running free on the right side. That is an eighteen
yard Prescott to Lamb touchdown, just his second touchdown, grabbing
the year, and the Cowboys nine seconds into the second up.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Nine to six.

Speaker 3 (03:39):
Great call there ahead of the play, Jason Horowitz and
Kirk Morrison calling it on KRLV. They saw the touchdown
before it happened. I was watching the Manning cast for
this part of the game and they were just Peyton
Manning was so frustrated about how obviously open Ceede Lamb
was going to be on that play and was And
that was a trend throughout the first half of this game.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Yeap, it definitely was. You know, I just looked up
some numbers because I'm thinking, like, in hindsight, it felt
like everything was easy for the Cowboys in the passing
game and that I felt like they were soft coverage,
So I go look at the numbers real quick. They
pressed on over twenty percent of their defensive snaps the
Raiders did. It didn't look like that at all all night.
Their average target separation was under four yards. It never
looked like that. It didn't look like that on that play.
It didn't look that like that on a number of

(04:20):
other plays where I just felt like the slant was
always there, the quick throw was always there, The extended
play and finding somebody downfield was always there. Like you said,
preposterously easy and exactly what the Cowboys needed to kind
of get back on track offensively.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Yeah, there was another touchdown.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Who was it to over the middle Ferguson where he
just has a sit route. He sits down and there's
a defensive lineman and a linebacker who are in the
same area and there's no one within ten yards. And
this is just like a fourth and short type of
play over the middle. How does a guy get open
by ten yards on a fourth and short play within

(04:54):
two seconds? They're really poorly coached defensively.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
You know.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
I'm getting texts from Jordan Rodrigue obviously and other people
watching this game and just wondering about the future of
this Raiders team.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
I would say this Raiders team.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
If you had to rank the offensive line in defensive
line combinations and say who is the worst team in
the NFL in the trenches, you know the Bengals would
be in the mix. But I think their offensive line
is better. Certainly. I think the Raiders despite having Max Crosby,
And yes, one of our viewers right now is saying

(05:31):
justice for Max Crosby, he does not deserve it. I
think despite Max Crosby, they are the worst team in
the NFL. They are the softest team in terms of
not getting any pass rush other than Crosby. Can't stop
the run, can't run the ball, can't even attempt to
run the ball. What is this team right now?

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Yeah? I agree, Max Crosby's on a complete island on
both sides of the ball. You're absolutely right. And look,
I know that they haven't en Colton Miller for most
of the season, so that takes away some of your
strength of your offensive line. I know you lost Jackson
powers Johnson against the Broncos. He had to move Jordan
Meredith over from centat to guard tonight and insert an
undrafted product from Clemson Will Putnam in its center tonight

(06:07):
first start in his career everything's stacked against you. I
get that, but this is exactly what we've seen from
them when they were at close to full strength without
Miller for most of the season, They've just been terrible
in the trenches. Offensively, Gino has never had really any
time to throw for most of the year. Genty, I
feel so bad for him because he's getting hit behind
the line of scrimmage routinely every week, and no play

(06:28):
captured their offensive lines inability to do anything really positive
than when Genty got tackled in the end zone for
a safety tonight. Like that just perfectly typified the entire
season for their trench play right there. Can't do anything
up front, can't get any lanes open for him, to
the point where they have to abandon the run. They
have to resort to checkdowns and swing passes just to
get the ball in his hands because he is a playmaker.

(06:50):
It's an offense that has got a hand tied behind
its back and it's also got a ball and chain
around one of its legs. It can't get going at
all because they can't do anything up front.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
The Genty thing is making me crazy in the first
half of this game. This is from Josh Dubau of
the Associated Press getting a lot of pop here on
NFL Daily lately. The Raiders were only the third team,
according to the Associated Press, to have thirty dropbacks and
four or fewer runs in the first half of a game.

(07:21):
I think that was since ninety one or it was ever.
Either way, the other two teams that had done that
scored over twenty points in that first half because they
were teams that are throwing the ball all over the
yard and scoring a lot of points. The Raiders were
doing nothing to go that pass happy in the first
half of a game. When you can't protect Gino Smith

(07:42):
at all, who had his customary bad interception. He has
one bad one every game. His receivers let him down
a lot. It's not like he was great, He's just
part of this entire mess. But that that game plan,
to me, I think gets to this question. The Raiders
have to fire every one right, and they did already

(08:02):
fire their special teams coach. By the way, last week,
I think that slipped under the radar. I meant to
mention it last week. I'm shocked that Chip Kelly is
still going and this sort of game plan, and it
does make you wonder a little bit about Pete Carroll
in his future because Mark Davis has had a quick trigger.

(08:22):
Here's all the coaches that have coached for Mark Davis
since he took over in twenty eleven. Hugh Jackson, Dennis Allen,
Jack Del Rio, John Gruden, Josh McDaniels, Antonio Pierce, in
Pete Carroll. That's only since twenty twelve. So that's like
each coach is averaging about two years in that span.
So maybe Pete Carroll gets one more year. But the
way this is going, there's a chance that to one

(08:42):
and done, like Antonio Pierce essentially was with a full
year one and done.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Early third quarters night, I started thinking in my head
about this exact scenario, which was who was the last
coach with like a Super Bowl pedigree who got fired
very quickly from his next job. And the first guy
that came to my was Mike Ditka with the Saints.
He was there for three years now. He traded away
his whole draft for Ricky Williams one year, which kind
of tanked what they were doing. But I mean, I

(09:09):
hate to say it, but I do think that the
whole Pete Carroll experiment, the idea of bringing in somebody
with you know, experience and everything else is probably coming
to an end at some point because what's most important
about Pete Carroll teams running the football sometimes you know,
intentionally aggressively to the point where it may not make
sense in the game, but they're still going to try
to commit to the run and playing solid defense. They

(09:30):
do neither of those things. They're poorly coached defensively, They're
just they're not a good football team and it's hard
to find any sense of direction for them. Like the
trade for Gino was a flop because they can't protect him.
They still don't have guys that can get open, reliance
on brock Bowers. You can't even do that now to
move the football. So it's at the end of the season.
What do you say, what do you tell your fans, Oh,
we're gonna run it back. We just need another offseason

(09:52):
with a coach who's in his seventies. I don't think so.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
I think he's got a chance maybe to change coordinators
and do it. But yeah, they're they're at two and
eight now, and even genty, who is a high pick,
like he does feel like he's part of it, Like
on that play. You know, Troy Aikman noted he stopped
his feet. And I've watched the Gent game with Moray's
Jones Drew and he always gets it goes crazy that
Gent's always stopping his feet, which is the last thing

(10:15):
you want to do when you have such a bad
offensive line. He had a couple of drops in this game.
He also had a bad block early in this game
that helped Geno Smith get hurt. Hit rather on a
play before we move on, and we will move on quickly,
shout out to Quentin Williams. Monster first game for the Cowboys.
They get Schevon Ravel back for the first time. He's

(10:39):
a third round rookie. I guess he's not coming back,
but he's coming back from his college injury. He's on
the field for the first time. They get some of
their safeties back, you know, Maleek Hooker, Donovan Wilson. I
don't expect this defense to be good, and it's hard
to say when you're only playing the Raiders, but Quentin
Williams was playing like a man possessed tonight. And a

(11:00):
couple sacks, a couple more quarterback hits, a couple more pressures,
even on top of that, and with the Diggi Zua
and Kenny Clark, like, there is something here that I'm
at least curious to watch next week against better competition
the Eagles, and frankly their offense. I mean, it is
better than the Raiders offense, but it's not a great offense.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
Right now, I'm gonna run my top four guys in
Q pressure tonight for the Cowboys, okay, because it's going
to be an interesting group. Diggi Zuo with six three
quick pressures, Jadevian Clowney with five including two quick pressures,
Quinn Williams of five and one quick pressure, and Dante Fowler.
On paper, Clowny passed his prime. Not a bad group, like,

(11:43):
not a terrible group. I have some reason for encouragement
that over the next few weeks as they try to
claw their way back into some sort of contention, not
really for the East, but just for a playoff spot
in general, and what's a very difficult conference, that at
least they feel they should feel more confident about what
they have up front now the rest of the defense
that remains to be seen. Deron Bland had a really

(12:04):
nice bounce back game after getting torched against the Cardinals.
I thought that was big for them as well in
the back end. But for the first time this season,
I look at it and I go okay, Like, I
don't think that you're just going to get run all over.

Speaker 3 (12:15):
We have a comment that Quinnon Williams is no Nick Shook. Yeah,
this is a Nick Shook out appreciation post. I'm going
to give Quinn Williams our guy who delivered, and it
is time for Who Delivered, presented by Uber Eats, because
I want to just point out how different PFF can
be in terms of tracking compared to Next Gen. For

(12:35):
what it's where they have Quentin Williams as seven pressures
and Clowney only has two. I mean that's a pretty
big gap compared to what Next Gen has. James Houston,
by the way, also had a sack. And I also
want to give a shout out to Demarvion Overshown. I
thought he delivered in his first game back. He also
delivered back in training camp. If you were with us

(12:57):
when I went to watch the Cowboys, he the show
and his energy and everyone around that team talked about
him as a real deal leader and a guy who
was really dynamic on the field when he was healthy
in his second year. He had an ACL injury his
first year, another serious injury last year, so he is
making it back from a long injury.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
Played about thirty snaps tonight.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
PFF graded him out as pretty high and he's just
someone to watch. So there's at least something here this
Cowboys team. I got my doubts with the kind of
schedule that they have Eagles, Chiefs, and I think they have.

Speaker 4 (13:36):
Lions, the Lions.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
After that, you know you're very likely to lose two
of those three games, like it would feel like an
accomplishment if you even won one of them. And yet
I at least I'm holding out a little space in
my head to say that this offensive quarterback is good
enough and their defense is now a little different coming

(13:58):
off the by just that they could be a frisky team.
Just that they could be a frisky team. I was
gonna win even two of those games and like be
in the race. It's gonna be a tough spot to
get to the wildcard. We have a commenter saying it
looks like a team built to lose in the wild card.
I don't know about that, but let's say this. I
took my the over on eight wins for the season

(14:19):
before I knew they traded Parsons.

Speaker 4 (14:21):
I'm not totally giving up on that, not totally giving
up on that.

Speaker 3 (14:26):
They got some giants in there. There's not many easy games,
but just just saying, make it threatened.

Speaker 2 (14:32):
If they get I mean, they get Vikings, Chargers, Commanders, Giants,
your last four, that's it would be really hard to
bounce back from losing the next three Eagles Chiefs lines.
That would be difficult. But I mean, if that's all
your interest is in is making sure that you're you're
over underpick hits, which I know you and I know
that you're very interested in that, you're very invested in that,
then that's enough for me to sign up and keep track.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
Thank you. Yes that is Quinn and Williams.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
So I've trusted pff here two sacks, three quarterback hits
on top of that and two hurries. Yes, that was
who delivered presented by Uber Eats. When football makes you hungry,
get game day deals on Uber Eats, the official on
demand delivery partner of the NFL.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
Order.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
Now, so what we're gonna do, and we appreciate everyone
in the chat right now, and no Quinn Williams will
not be delivering any uber eats if you order. You know,
he has to enjoy the post game and get ready
on a short week for the Eagles. We're gonna do
some news and then we're going to take some questions
for a little bit in the chat. I think we

(15:35):
start the news with the Michael Pennox going to injured reserve.
He suffered a knee injury shook. It is the left knee,
not the knee that was twice surgically repaired in college
with ACL injuries that ended seasons in college, so it's
a different knee. It could possibly require reconstructive surgery. According

(15:56):
to NFL Network insider Ian Rappaport, at this point there
looking at further tests to see if that is necessary,
but either way, Raheem Morris admitted he's going on injured reserve.
There's a pretty big risk he's missing the rest of
the season, and from the sound of it, we are
fearing that it's going to be a long recovery. What

(16:19):
do you think about kind of where the Falcons in
Panics specifically are at and where and let's say he
does have a tourney CEO where kind of this leaves him.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
I mean, it's been a very rocky second season for him.
It's been up and down, you know. Running back that
Falcons Panthers game today, I felt like once Beijeon wasn't
getting chunks on the ground, everything was a little bit
more difficult for them offensively. But I did like what
I saw from him. It's just been very inconsistent. We
kind of discussed this when we were redrafting the quarterback class,
and maybe maybe we look out a little out over
our skis too much when figuring out that second tier,

(16:53):
because I still feel like he's got it in him.
It's just that the accuracy has not been reliable. And
I also really wonder if this offense is tailored toward him,
Like I don't think it really suits him well. Whether
it's the reliance and the pistol and a number of
other different things. It just it feels like he's kind
of having to overcome some things systematically that like scheme wise,

(17:14):
that just don't fit him. But I don't think that
this really threatens their long term outlook. It's just the
fact that you wonder about his road to recovery. It
is good news that it's not the same knee, given
his history, his lengthy history Indiana before he ended up
in Washington. But it's never news that you want to get.
At this point, they're fortunate, they have to be feeling
fortunate that they still have Kirk Cousins on the roster. Now,
of course they have a lower ceiling. They have a

(17:36):
lower ceiling offensively. You saw that in that game against
the Panthers. But at least they have somebody to turn to.
It's been a disappointing season for the Falcons overall, and
this is the most disappointing news of all. But I
don't know if it necessarily threatens his long term outlook.
It's just it sucks to hear, you know, at this
point in the season, almost as bad as my mouse
dying right now also sucks. And since this is live,
you're gonna see me lean over for a second to get.

Speaker 3 (17:58):
A court You know, no one would notice most people
are listening, but we appreciate the diehards that we're going
to take some questions from in a minute. Pennix struggled,
but the numbers would say he wasn't as bad as
kind of the eye test would say. And so I
went through some numbers for this season. First of all,

(18:19):
his numbers are pretty similar than to that four game
span that he had a year ago, which we were
impressed by. But PFF had him graded as the thirty
sixth best quarterback out of forty one in terms of
their qualifiers, and that is a little closer to where
I had a seventeenth in QBR, twenty fourth in EPA

(18:40):
per dropback. This is out of thirty four quality fire
so in the middle of QBR sixteenth and success rate
h thirty second out of thirty four in third and
long and that is one of the stats I look at,
and a really bad like big time throw to turnover
worthy play percent.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
So add that all up.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
In that pro file tells me he's taking a lot
of check downs, He's hitting a lot of like five
and six yard passes. He's not having a lot of
wow plays. He's not having a lot of big plays.
I did think Sunday was one of his best games
of the season. He only finished about two and a
half three quarters, but he looked good, went over the
middle of the field like he was having a clean game.

(19:20):
I think he was testing the middle of the field
a little more over the last couple of weeks. Ultimately
you're right, like he didn't fit in this system and
the system won't be there next year like Zach Robinson is.
He's just not going to be back as their offensive coordinator.
I don't know if FORH. Morris is going to be back.
I don't know if Terry Fontono the GM is going
to be back. You're three and seven in a year
that you kind of went all in and everything is

(19:43):
possibly on the table, and I think this move shook
where we move on from Pennix kind of points out like,
oh yeah, Kirk Cousins is on the roster with a
forty million dollar cap hit and it's going to charge
thirty something to get rid of next year in dead
cap money. And he's not even a good backup right now.
And like we see with a lot of these quarterbacks,

(20:04):
it might be someone else's regime that ends up inheriting
Pennex where this goes. And if he's coming back from
an injury, it's a tricky situation, you know what I mean,
where they're gonna have to have someone who might be
ready to handle the off season program because I don't
think Kirk Cousins is going to be that guy.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Yeah, you're right, and I think that anytime there's a
regime change too, that you're entering uncertain waters because you
don't know if the next person that they hire, the
next leadership group that they hire, even once you know
Michael Pennix, they probably won't want Kirk Cousins, especially at
that number. Anytime you make it a sweeping change like that,
you are preparing for things to get torn down, and

(20:41):
that could include your quarterback, which is what throws everything
into a place of uncertainty. So I think I think
that's right, like I and you're right. They did kind
of go all in and they haven't produced, So it
feels like we're headed in that direction. And yet I
think when you take the job, what and you look at,
you know, the full landscape of what this team has.
You see former first round pick quarterback, played two seasons,

(21:04):
showed some promising things, was inconsistent. Maybe it is just
a lack of system fit. Maybe we can make something
out of them. You know that a lot of these
leaders they come there with, they get to where they
are in their jobs by a bit of ego. Right
in my ego, I can make something out of this guy.
So I'm not saying it's the end for him, but
there are going to If they do make those changes,
they are going to be more changes than just that,

(21:25):
especially in the offensive side, because this is a group that,
if you look at it on paper, has enough talent
to be better than it is, and it just hasn't
been that good.

Speaker 3 (21:32):
Yeah, they have a profile of a five and five
team that's had some bad luck. To be honest, I
don't think you're that bad of a team, certainly like
a four and six team. And yeah, thank you to
Brad for asking everyone to smash that like button we
are love and seeing the subscriber numbers going up lately,
so also subscribe. I look at this Falcons team and

(21:53):
you just remember that, Look, if Pennix was coming off
this injury and they could even consider taking another first
round quarterback, it's not that crazy.

Speaker 4 (22:03):
Oh but they don't have their first round pick.

Speaker 3 (22:06):
They gave it to the Rams for James Pierce, and
I just think back to our training camp interview with JB. Long,
the play by play announcer for the Rams, who kind
of laid out this scenario that there's going to be
a lot of people in Los Angeles watching this Falcons team.
They kind of bet against this Falcons team a little bit,

(22:27):
and that bet is looking pretty good right now. A
couple more items of news before we take your question.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
Jamar Chase.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
We mentioned that we thought he would be suspended after
spitting on Jalen Ramsey. He was indeed suspended for one game. Man,
that is costing him a lot of money when you
think about his base salary, that is an enormous payment
for him to give up a weekly check, which is
one out of eighteen checks you get all season. The

(22:57):
new England Patriots shook continue to get schedule luck even
when they play like the Joe Flacco Bengals. They get
a little more luck this week because Jamar Chase will
not be out there for Cincinnati.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Yeah. I mean, look the it would have been a
good test to the Patriots defense, like we know what
they necessarily have. But I look at it from the
Bengals perspective, it's like, well, how are you going to
keep up with Drake May when your defense can't really
stop a nosebley in most games saved for last week,
if you have lost your best pass catcher, like, it's
just gonna become that much more difficult for them. So yeah,
big loss at a bad time, But that's kind of

(23:28):
the way the season has gone.

Speaker 4 (23:29):
From the I mean their season is over.

Speaker 3 (23:32):
Trey Hendrickson is not expected to play this week, according
to their head coach Zach Taylor.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
Either they they.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
Turned if they weren't before week eleven, they're a cross off.
Lane Johnson is certainly not a cross off for this season,
but the regular season, we're not gonna see him much
more of the future Hall of Famer out four to
six weeks with the Liz Frank Sprain. So look, the
Cowboys pass rushes looking better, No Lane Johnson, I mean

(24:02):
the the Eagles. Twenty points seems like a mountain that
they cannot climb lately. I mean, we just did a
game a week ago shook in this spot where they
scored all of ten points in their win. They scored
sixteen on Sunday night. It's a much easier matchup against
the Cowboys. But no Lane Johnson changes things quite a
bit for this team.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
So are you telling me that Jadevian Clowney is gonna
end up with a lot of pressures? Again? Is Dante
Faler Is what's gonna happen? Here. I mean, look, I'm
all for intrigue. I'm all for intrigue in that game.
And you're you are right about the Eagles offense like
it it is a cause for concern. It's good. Actually,
that's a really good matchup if you think about it,
Like the Eagles defense playing lights out against the Cowboys
team that's still very offense heavy. It could be a
good one.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
Yeah, and when the Cowboys have the ball, I think
it's a good It's a good test for both. You know,
the Cowboys struggled a couple of weeks coming into the
by but this Eagles defense looks like it could be
the best in the league. Again, I would still take
the Seahawks, but the Eagles defense is certainly in that equation,
and that the Cowboys are a great test. They move
the ball pretty well on them.

Speaker 4 (25:03):
In Week one.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
They were not in the same shape that they are
in right now, but that was a game the Cowboys
certainly could have won they did not. A couple other
injury items, Josh Jacobs is week to week with a
knee injury. Sounds like there's a chance he could play
this week against the Vikings.

Speaker 4 (25:16):
We'll see.

Speaker 3 (25:17):
Milton Williams, the great free agent pickup for the Patriots,
is on injured reserve. That happened over the weekend. They
didn't play over the weekend, so we had not hit
that news. That is a big loss for them. One
thing I've I've been worried about as a Patriots fan.
I think they're about as thin as top heavy as
just about any team in the league at almost every position,

(25:39):
including the defensive line, and they have had maybe the
best injury luck in the entire season along with schedule luck.
They've been missing almost no players. Them and the Rams
are two of the best teams that have been missing
very few players, and so that injury luck bounces back
on them. And Milton Williams is going to be out
for at least a month with an ankle injury, which
is news for them. Tyrod Taylor is going to start

(26:02):
in week twelve for the New York Jets, and then
just our our thoughts go out to their player Chris Boyd,
who was shot over the weekend and underwent multiple surgeries.
He's in critical but stable condition with the Jets. Are
just our our best thoughts out to him. We thought
it'd be fun changing gears that if you had the

(26:26):
love to be like a real shuckster. I'm trying to
think of a nickname who would stay up for Monday
night NFL Daily live streams?

Speaker 4 (26:34):
You got any.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
I mean, I mean, I'm not thinking like Claymates. Is
that what we know we got exactly about?

Speaker 4 (26:41):
We haven't really leaned into the Claymates enough.

Speaker 3 (26:44):
I was I was more of a clay Bond Vivan's
guy or the clay Bond Bonds. But either way, I
keep forgetting to mention. That's when if I'm self scouting shook. One,
I talk too much. Two, you know, just just keeps
going on. Two, I come up with bits and then
I forget about him and never go back to him.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
So that yeah, So so the callback connection, the efforts
on the callbacks has to be a little bit, you know.

Speaker 3 (27:08):
So I'm asking the listeners now, we need we need
a name for just regular NFL daily listeners, Like what
would there what would their names be?

Speaker 2 (27:19):
The Danny the Danny like maniacs but daily?

Speaker 4 (27:24):
I don't know. I just I'm not I'm saying put
it in the chat. Let's take some questions. Uh.

Speaker 3 (27:28):
The first one, let's go, which coordinator do you think
could be a head coach next year. Hearing buzz about
Jeff half Lee. Okay, that is certainly one.

Speaker 2 (27:40):
I mean, let's think about why Jeff Haffley ended up
with the Packers, which is that he was bailing out
of Boston College in a year in which he was
probably gonna get fired as their head coach.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
Don't forget that, okay, but they like that was a
tough situation, no one can win.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
At not a good year. But got a big dub.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
Yes, Like, I might do this as an entire show
coming up on the NFL Daily Feed. It's funny because
a lot of the hot coordinators from a year ago
are not hot anymore.

Speaker 4 (28:12):
Is Jesse Minter like a big time candidate? I'm not
so sure.

Speaker 3 (28:15):
Is Joe Brady as hot as he used to be? Like,
I don't really think so. Could Cliff Kingsbury get some looks?

Speaker 4 (28:26):
No?

Speaker 2 (28:27):
No, I mean I don't know. I mean maybe if
we're going retreads, I guess that's one of your leaders
in the retread department. We're in it. We are in
a weird spot when it comes to that, if you
think about it.

Speaker 3 (28:37):
Steve Spagnolo, I actually think might get a look with
the Giants, or maybe maybe elsewhere Vance Joseph maybe with
the Broncos at some point could get another chance. He
did not have a great you know, first time around,
but you never know you got anyone.

Speaker 2 (28:56):
I mean, I'm looking at teams right now, just trying
to think, like what who would be a possibility here
Because we have a lot of new coaches that came
from the coordinator spot. We don't really have the up
and coming I mean, you could always do the Tampa
Bay pipeline, like Josh Grizzard gets an Os gets the
head coaching job somewhere because Baker had a good season,
just make it three in a row, Dave Kanalis, Liam Cohen,
Josh Grizzard, why not? Like no, but that's a joke.

(29:17):
I think we are in a kind of a weird
spot because of I mean, I guess this is pretty
normal when you get coordinators who become head coaches, you
have a hard time picking. You know, there's like the
next crop is not always as strong. So I guess
the Halfley ones not bad. I still feel like Joe
Brady is gonna end up gaining some steam for a
team that's desperate to become an offensive team like it,

(29:37):
even if that product has not been consistent this year.
He does. He's at that age now where you start
to seriously consider him. He's no longer like the golden
boy coordinator who came from the Saints in LSU like
now he's He's been around long enough that he could
get some serious traction. But the Bills have to finish
stronger and more consistently offensively than they have saved for
last week.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
Chris Shula is brought up by Jay Glazer uh the
defensive coordinator for the Rams. I think is gonna probably
get some interviews in this cycle. Mike McCarthy could be around,
Matt Naggi, could be around Lou and Rumo like who knows,
doesn't feel like there's a lot of like hot young
candidates have a question, when is the NFL going to
flex bad primetime games?

Speaker 4 (30:20):
Great question.

Speaker 3 (30:22):
We got the Commanders on Sunday Night Football in two
weeks and they didn't flex them out. They kept them
Broncos commanders. What are we doing here? We haven't had
any Remember the whole controversy that, oh we can flex
Monday night games or Thursday night games. Did they say
they can flex Thursday night game. No Monday night games.

(30:42):
You're putting on? What is that hat?

Speaker 2 (30:44):
This is an NFL hat right here? That a national
just playing around.

Speaker 4 (30:52):
No.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
I mean, if you love the NFL, you want to
see great games in prime time. Marcus Mariota in primetime again,
what are we just watch.

Speaker 2 (30:58):
Marcus Mario to throw a crush interception in Madrid to
lose the game. No, of course I don't want to
see that, but I also understand that networks can battle
for things like this. Let's flex out every bad remaining
primetime game. But we also have to remember that the
Cowboys are in a bunch of primetime slots, and thank
god they wanted Commanding Fashion tonight, because if they didn't,
we'd be complaining about their upcoming days.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
Yeah, but at least they have Dak Prescott and Ceedee
Lamb and they're a competitive team. We've been having too
many dead teams in these primetime games. We got the
Giants against the Patriots next Monday Night, and the Monday
night flex is tough because you got to look ahead,
I think, with like a month notice to make.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
That change, so wee get a Sunday night flex.

Speaker 4 (31:40):
They haven't seen it. And that commander's one.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
I did go look at the schedule that week and thought, Okay,
what's the game that they would flex into it? And
there are reasons you might not be able to like Panthers,
Rams wouldn't have been bad. But are the Rams already
at their primetime pop? Yeah, we got to comment that
you are the employee.

Speaker 4 (31:59):
Of the month. I mean, you are a kissing have
you no shame the NFL hat.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
It's a joke.

Speaker 4 (32:06):
I'm just playing.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
I'm playing into it.

Speaker 4 (32:07):
I'm leaning in.

Speaker 2 (32:08):
Let me lean in for once, all right? So who
are you flexing out? Broncos commanders? Who are you gonna
flex in from that week? Let's just go right off
the rip now, because I'm looking at that schedule and
but see Bears Eagles is the Black Friday game, for example?
What else are we gonna do bill Steelers from four
twenty five to eight twenty I guess that's better.

Speaker 3 (32:28):
That one probably is protected. There are a lot of
different rules.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
And now you see why I'm wearing.

Speaker 4 (32:33):
The rest of the game.

Speaker 3 (32:34):
Here's the game, here's the game, Colts Colts Texans. All
I just want is just a competitive game. I know
it's not an amazing game, but it has meaning. It
could be the Colts essentially winning the division. It could
be the Texans making a big comeback in the division.
Either way, they matter. Just give me a game that matters,
like it's a low bar. When I saw forty nine

(32:55):
Ers Panthers is coming up on Monday Night, I was like, okay, fine,
like not great team, but they both have winning records.

Speaker 4 (33:01):
The game matters. I mean, Commanders, Commanders, Bonnicks, Get me
out of here.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
How do you feel about Texans Chiefs Week fourteen, Sunday Night?

Speaker 4 (33:11):
That's great? I like it.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
You're cool with that, Okay, I'm totally fine. By the way,
they're in primetime Thursday night. We got a new lineup
this week. I'm out on Thursday night. My daughter ellis
big concert. I gotta be there. She's in the orchestra.
Gotta do dad mode. Jordan Rodrigue and Nick Shook are
handling Texans bills. And yes, there was a question will

(33:34):
there ever be a good primetime game again? It's happening
Thursday night. Because you know who you look to as
a slumpbuster. The NFL gets on the bat phone, They're like,
we have not had a good primetime game in so long.
Who should we call? And they said, Davis Mills. Davis
Mills is our choice.

Speaker 4 (33:54):
You know what.

Speaker 3 (33:55):
Davis Mills has about five throws every game, which is like, hey,
I got to hand it to you, Davis Mills. He's
he has not been a problem for them. Uh, maybe
they can show up in that Bills game.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
I think that could be a good game.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Yeah, I mean that Jaguars game. He powered that comeback
and he made some really great throws in that game.
And that's not because I'm wearing the Robblow hat right now.
It's because he really did play it well. So I
could sell him on that. I could definitely And you
know what, I'd like the idea of the Texans playing
the home spoiler to the Bills on Thursday night and
a short week after the Bills just played a shootout
against the Buccaneers. Why not let's do it. I'm cool

(34:30):
with that. I am not cool with a few weeks
from now when we go to the Sunday Night slate
and I believe it's Bengals Dolphins in Miami, that one
not looking back that unless unless Joe burrows back, then
they might flect.

Speaker 4 (34:46):
Now they might keep it that that's flex.

Speaker 3 (34:48):
I would get almost guaranteed that is happening. Yes, uh,
viewer is sticking his neck out for Davis Mills.

Speaker 4 (34:56):
He's been so.

Speaker 2 (34:57):
Also, I would like to I would like to note
this real quick on your Dad mode. The D and
NFL Daily actually stands for Dad.

Speaker 3 (35:04):
Just so yeah, yeah, okay, how about NFL Daily fans?

Speaker 4 (35:08):
Are the Daily Gallery? Not bad? I think we can
do better, but I like it.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
There was a question, are the Bears really gonna win
the North?

Speaker 4 (35:17):
Shook? I'll let you start this.

Speaker 3 (35:20):
Chicago Bears are the number three seed currently in the NFC.
The Detroit Lions, by the way, are not in the playoffs.
As of today, they are the eight seed behind the
forty nine Ers who are seven, Green Bay six, and yes,
Seattle would have the other wild card.

Speaker 4 (35:38):
Right now, the Bears are leading the North. What do
you think?

Speaker 2 (35:41):
Yeah, so's considered where the Packers are on the standing. Look,
if you look at the bears remaining schedule, you got
the Steelers, you got at the Eagles, at the Packers.
You'll beat the Browns. You got the Packers again, you
got the Niners and the Lions. That ends your season.
That is a tough slate. That is not the slate
that included the Raiders, Commanders and Saints earlier in this season.
All wins for you. So while I enjoy watching the Bears,

(36:02):
and I like them almost giving away a game that
they should have won in Minnesota before coming back to
win it at the end because it's thrilling, and I
like watching Caleb Williams in crunch time, that's all great.
I think that they are going to come back to
earth here in the next month because those are some
really tough matchups. Those are some defenses that are going
to complicate the picture for Kayleb Williams and take away
some of what Ben Johnson has done really well in

(36:23):
terms of scheme. But Pittsburgh, Philly, Green Bay three defenses
that are going to cause them some problems. So I
think that by the time you get into mid December
you're looking at you're still above five hundred. But it's
been a bit of a bumpy road. So no, they're
not going to win the North.

Speaker 3 (36:37):
I don't think so either, But I feel differently about them.
This should go without saying then I did a month ago,
and they're winning these close games. But I think that
Caleb Williams is now at the point where he's not
hurting them at all, Like he is adding something to

(36:58):
them and he's not making mistakes, and the rest of
the team around him, in terms of the scheme and
the running game and the talent and just the kind
of greater than the sum of their parts, is really
doing something. So yeah, that's a dangerous game against Pittsburgh,
but it's a dangerous game for the Steelers. It's kind
of a bummer that Rogers, you know, Aaron Rodgers might
not be playing that game. Just considering the the history

(37:23):
between Rogers and the Bears over the years. I think
the Bears would love to get a chance to finally
beat him. And if they couldn't beat him now, it
would just either way, it would be great theater. We
don't know that he's out. Then we get the Bears
Eagles on Black Friday. That's not a primetime game, but
that is an Island window game. The Thanksgiving slate is
pretty great. Like I like Cowboys Chiefs the Packers Lions

(37:46):
is one of the biggest games we've had on Thanksgiving
I think for years, because man, two teams with Super
Bowl aspirations, who are just scratching inclining trying to win
that division.

Speaker 4 (37:56):
That's a huge one.

Speaker 3 (37:57):
So it's a really good slate there, Bears Eagles, and
we're gonna be doing a show by the way, after
Bears Eagles. Our NFL daily schedule a little different this year,
and so we'll be doing a show recapping all the
Thanksgiving games and the Bears Eagles game on that Friday.
The Dave ots is another suggestion as a Okay, I can.

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Get with that. That rolls off the tongue a little
bit more, a little bit better.

Speaker 3 (38:23):
Let's go with you at least one more question here.
What's more likely Chargers get Omar and Hampton back and
go on a run or the old line gets Herbert
so banged up they fall out of the playoffs entirely.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
Oh, let me answer this. It's the latter, And it's
not because I don't think that they're good enough to
make the playoffs. I just see how this offensive line
struggles have completely undercut their offense, like it is such
a struggle for them to do anything in the passing game.
And you already know if your offensive line is banged up,
you're probably not running the ball well. So getting Omar
and Hampton back is kind of moot to me, because
if you're not going to protect well and you're not
going to open up running lanes, it's really not going

(38:57):
to matter. It's kind of criminal to see how they
don't protect for Justin Herbert, and especially because we just
had a couple of weeks ago an example of how
one guy, Joe Ald at left tackle can shore up
everything so much that you can just light up an
opposing defense and suddenly that's gone, and it makes for
a painful watch for them. That Jacksonville game was painful

(39:17):
to watch, Like we talked about a later game basically
being the indication. I think it was a Sunday night
game of we give up the Lions, just we give up,
like we quit. Its cold, right. Trey Lance coming in
with like four minutes left in the game is also
like the human or something, yes, like like you already
knew at that point, and Jim Harbaugh is just staying

(39:38):
on the sideline like looking up into the sun and
Jacksonville with that same like confused grimace on his face
as if like he just could not figure out what
was going wrong. I can tell you what's going wrong.
They don't block for him. They don't block for him,
and you can't do anything offensively, So I think the
latter is probably more likely. I would hate to see
them fall out of the race entirely, but I don't
like what I'm seeing from their offense right now.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
I think the latter is more likely. They've got I
don't think either is gonna happen. I think they'll make
the playoffs in a similar fashion to you know how
they did when they got blown out by the Texans
in last year in year one Charger under Harbaugh. I
give them a better chance to go further this year
because I think Herbert's playing even better. But a team

(40:22):
that gets destroyed in the way that they have, like
multiple times, and then every time they go to the
East Coast they just don't show up. They like, they
fall behind against Tennessee, they barely win against Miami, they
lose against the Giants. They've been great. It's been a
bizarro Chargers season, you know where. They've been great, big
primetime games and like their biggest games of the season,

(40:43):
they've played great.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
And that's why I don't count them out.

Speaker 3 (40:46):
I think a Marion Hampton will help them quite a bit,
but it's the offensive line that's the problem.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
There's a question.

Speaker 3 (40:52):
Still think Kansas City makes the playoffs. Yes, I think
that's that's an easy one.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
I sit back and I look at that record, and
I want all the morning talk shows being like the
Chiefs they're five and five, Oh my god, you know,
the sky is falling, and I'm like, we still can't.
I don't care, Like, yeah, it's November, I still don't care.
I have seen this story too many times to take
the bait that this is the end of the Chiefs

(41:17):
until they're out, they're in. Just take case fact.

Speaker 4 (41:21):
I hear you.

Speaker 3 (41:22):
But every every loss makes it a little trickier. And
I do think because of the Jaguars schedule specifically and
the Ravens coming up, and the fact that I'm not
totally counting out with the Texans, although their schedules tough,
that they could keep winning the Chiefs and they could
still be getting put into must win games against pretty

(41:42):
good teams late in the season. So it's just gonna
make for a fun stretcher on final question here, and yeah,
we get another suggestion. The Daily Gang not a bad one.
I like that The Daily Gang did Sam Darnold throw
away any MVP case that could have been made this week.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
I don't know if there was really much of a
case to be made.

Speaker 3 (42:03):
Oh, come on, I thought I thought he had it through.
Like you know, if you have a first MVP, who.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
The guy who hates early season MVP rankings is going
to do.

Speaker 3 (42:13):
I don't like if we gave a first half MVP
and uh, I just thought for the first half he
had a decent case when he looked at all the numbers.
But in the last two weeks alone, he has five
interceptions and two fumble.

Speaker 2 (42:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (42:27):
The only thing I would say is, and you could
say this for almost anyone on a good team that
plays quarterback. Look, if he goes like twenty four touchdowns,
like one interception the rest of the way, and they
have the like number one offense, you know, scoring thirty
points a game in the league, then like, yeah, then
he makes his case because from what happens now matters more.

Speaker 4 (42:47):
That's not going to happen.

Speaker 2 (42:48):
That's true, And twenty four touchdowns and one interception would
be an absurd stat line. And at that point you
just say, that's what I mean, something that's going to
happen because I and I hate to be this guy,
but he does continue to prove himself as somebody who
crumbles in big games like he just does. And that
ram Seahawks game was great for the defensive battle and
the struggles that each side had. Offensive Matthew Stafford wasn't

(43:09):
fantastic in that game. He made some good throws, but
he wasn't fantastic in that game. But the fashion in
which Sam threw away possession just trying to do too much.
If he finds himself in bigger games or as big
of games, and he's in under pressure in similar situations
and he continues to make those mistakes, it's just gonna
the MVP cas is evaporate. If it hasn't already.

Speaker 4 (43:29):
Yeah, it's probably pretty good.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
Yeah it's gone.

Speaker 3 (43:33):
You know, we did it tonight. You said it was
a great defensive struggle. This was like the show equivalent
of a defensive struggle.

Speaker 4 (43:40):
You know.

Speaker 3 (43:41):
We took some weird ingredients and we mixed it up
and we made maybe not the most delicious meal that
we've made all season, but something you're like, oh, actually
that was pretty good.

Speaker 4 (43:53):
Maybe we'll do more mail bags on Monday night.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
What do you think sh I mean even the mystery
meets who play at lunch was good sometimes in elementary school.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
That was Nick Schuck wearing his NFL hat. We will
be back big show on Tuesday. QB Island returns might
have some surprises in store. This is a big episode.
Everyone is back in the studio. We decide who are
the quarterback managers deciding and defining this season. Back on Tuesday,
