Speaker 1 (00:00):
Wow, everybody, welcome to another edition of the NFL Fantasy
Football Show. It's me Your Man, MG Marcus Grant, joined
by Michael Florio and Lakwan Jones. Back half of the
season starts this week. How are we feeling?
Speaker 2 (00:23):
I'll be feeling a lot better if my team wins
on Sunday. My team and my fantasy teams. But uh,
it's spooky season right now.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
It is spooky season. Lawan, you were asking me what
my favorite scary movie is. I was like, I don't
really watch scary movies, but I have to ask you
what is your favorite scary movie?
Speaker 3 (00:39):
You never answered it.
Speaker 4 (00:41):
I like the Chucky franchise. I think me and my
wife we like watching that during the Halloween time.
Speaker 5 (00:45):
It's funny. And also Charslee rays from Jersey, so you know, I.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
Got to represent for the big Jersey folks out there,
fictional and you know, even the horror films getting there.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
All right, My biggest thing here is do you watch
more movies than like anyone I know?
Speaker 6 (00:57):
Yeah, you don't watch horror movies.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
I'm not really a horror movie I will say if
I have a Halloween staple. This is like the nerd
Nerd in Me. The Abominable Doctor fivees nineteen seventy one.
Vincent Price is kind of a campy, kind of horror
comedy sort of thing. It's goofy. It's a deep dive.
It's a deep poll for sure, but it is kind
of my Halloween go too.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
If you like goofy Halloween movies. I told you, Thanks
Killing is one of my favorites. And Jason, because.
Speaker 6 (01:23):
They're just over the top.
Speaker 1 (01:24):
No, Jason, do not watch Jason X.
Speaker 6 (01:27):
It is so bad. It's funny, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
I'm into that sort of thing. That actually sounds kind
of a my alley all right, also my alleys. But
we on this show, we have your starts and since
for week nine plus we dive into the Sunday and
Monday night games. Plus we're gonna hit you with some
bold predictions for the week. But you can go check out.
Of course, Michael Florio start column every week at NFL
dot com slash Starts City. He puts them together for
(01:51):
you and I'm sure everybody reads them and it's perfectly
okay with what happens, and they never follow up and
come back to him with things that might be wrong.
Let's start with the quote let's start with the quarterback position.
Who are your starts and sits this week?
Speaker 2 (02:06):
I know Drake May is reaching obvious territory, but he
has a tough matchup this week. I still think you
start him. Dak Prescott, I think bounces back against the
Cardinals that can't really create pressure. Speaking of not creating pressure,
the forty nine ers do so with the lowest rate.
Their defense is decimated. I think Jackson Dart takes advantage
of that. I think Kyler Murray can have his best
fantasy game of this season against the Cowboys.
Speaker 6 (02:28):
I think Caleb Williams.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Just like with Justin Fields last week, you got to
ignore the down performances before and just lock in on
that matchup. I also have Sam Darnold as they start,
and then the sits Bo Nicks.
Speaker 6 (02:39):
That's a little bit of a spicy one, but I
do not like the matchup at all.
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Jordan Love tough matchup, and I just think this is
a game where it's not gonna be like last week
where he has to throw as much as he did.
Speaker 6 (02:51):
CJ.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Stroud I want absolutely no part of in this matchup
against the Broncos. Aaron Rodgers is very touchdown reliant right now.
I don't know if you can bank on that against
the Colts. And then I know people are excited that
JJ's back, but that's a Viking.
Speaker 6 (03:04):
Don't make it a fantasy football thing.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
All right, So there you go fast. Let's just start
into some of these guys individually. Lakwan, I mean Sam
Donald very quietly putting together a nice fantasy season up
there in Seattle.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
No, I really love everything that I've seen from Sam Donald.
Then he is strapped to one of the best wide
receivers in the NFL right now. This is the wide
receiver one right now in the NFL, and Jackson Smith
and the Jigmo. And we've seen Sam Donald fight his
way out of tough matchups and be able to go
out there and put serviceful fantasy points on the board.
So I look at this Washington Commander's defense. In the
last three games, they have allowed three quarterbacks to put
(03:40):
up over nineteen plus fantasy points. These guys have found
the end zone twice or maybe even three times in
the last three games against the Commanders. So I think
Sam Donald's going to join that party and possibly put
up three tuddies in this game.
Speaker 6 (03:52):
Jsen best receiver in the NFC West.
Speaker 5 (03:54):
You heard it from Lakwan, I mean, oh my god.
First of all, this is too early, trying to hit
me crashing bro.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Right now. Don't you ever do that again? Oh man,
that would have been great, Just a huge crash out
in the first block show.
Speaker 5 (04:12):
It's insane, too early, man, say this for later.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
On the flip side of things, CJ. Stroud had a
good game last week against a forty nine er team
that has the same level of pass rush as the
three of us here combined. The odds though Lakwan that
he can do it again against a Denver team that
is generally living in the.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Backfield, even with a banged up Pat Sartin. Like, I
don't feel comfortable with CJ. Stroud because it's kind of
unfortunate that we can predict in the games that we
shouldn't be starting him like this. First of all, this
guy's owned for this season when pressured over thirty percent
on his dropbacks. I mean, when we look at Denver
right now, at the top of the league. First, when
it comes to QB pressures, they have a disturbing forty
(04:52):
five percent with QB pressure rate. So I am not
starting CJ. Stroud, especially with a banged up Nico. I'm
not relying on the young guys in Higgins and Jalen
Nole to kind of step up and save CJ. Strout
to be fantasy relevant. But when we look at the
games where he's pressured over thirty percent, he has less
than fourteen Fantasy points.
Speaker 6 (05:09):
That is real nasty work.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Yeah. I mean, look, this Texans offense generally speaking, has
been pretty awful and it's been hard to really trust
any of those guys you mentioned Nic Nico Collins banged up,
the offensive line is bad. This feels like a week
that you're not If you got Cia Shroud blow up
last week, good on you. I wouldn't count on it
happening again this week. Turn our attention to the running
back position, Florium, Who do you like in Week nine?
(05:33):
Who do you not like?
Speaker 6 (05:34):
This week?
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Jonder Swift has just been going off the last month.
He is a must start option this week against the Bengals.
I feel like Kimani Vedell also a must start option
this week and a fantastic matchup against the Titans.
Speaker 6 (05:48):
Chase Brown I like a lot more if Joe Flacco.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Is out there, But either way, he's been running a
lot better as of late, and it's a favorable matchup
against the Bears, who don't really make contact anywhere near
the line of scrimmage on running backs. David Montgomery just
because the Vikings have been ran on the second highest
rate in the NFL.
Speaker 6 (06:06):
And then Bam Knight.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
It might only be a one week thing with Trey
Benson nearing a return, but it's a fantastic matchup and
he is the lead back.
Speaker 6 (06:13):
And then the sis the common theme this week.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
I don't love the Broncos in this matchup against the Texans,
and then includes JK. Dobbins who has RJ. Harvey stealing
the touchdowns. Now Alvin Kamara, I part of it is
the Saints offense.
Speaker 6 (06:26):
I think.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
I think part of it is also just declined on
his part. And the Rams are an extremely tough matchup.
Kenneth Walker and Zach Sharbonay continue to eat off each
other's plates and make each other almost where you don't
want to start either of them. Bill Merritt, you know
the toughest matchup I would say for a your runner.
Speaker 6 (06:43):
The Seahawks really show.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Against pass catching backs, but that's not Bill. And then
Chewba Hubbard. If you're starting anyone in this tough matchup,
it's Rico.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
All right, Yeah, the Tuba Hubbard. I am completely out
on this week. I'm not even super excited about Rico
Dowin for sure. I want to ask you though about
Chase Brown Laqwal because he liked the rest of the
Bengals skill position players have gotten a boost from having
Joe Flacco in the lineup. Flaco right now kind of
iffy for this week because he's dealing with some injuries.
(07:11):
If Flacco can't go, if they have to go back
to Jake Browning, do we feel okay with Chase.
Speaker 4 (07:16):
Brown No, I'm a little hesitant. This is where I
start looking at my roster. This is where I start
looking down the line. If I can get somebody in there.
If Joe Flacco is out with the show the injury,
it's definitely gonna be night and day of how this
offense is operating. Because under Jake Browning, we've seen this
sample side. If we've seen what defenses are doing to
Jake Browning, it's a bunch of turnovers and the run
(07:37):
game suffers. Where I think Chase Brown becomes one of
those sketchy starts, spooky starts. We should say this week
being that if it's going to be Jake browning, I'm
not gonna feel confident of Chase Brown having that high scene.
Speaker 5 (07:49):
And like how we've seen in the past couple of.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
Weeks, because we'd said to the fantasy streets, hey, if
Joe Flacco's the starter, therefore, this schedule opens up a
little bit on the ground for Chase Brown. But when
you change that factor of it, it makes me really
really worried about having Chase Brown having a safe floor.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
I do love Chase Brown for the rest of the season, though,
because the schedule is really really friendly and I do
like what Joe Flacco has meant for this offense. Plus
there is a chance Joe Burrow could be back. But
if there's no Flacco this week, I'm not super excited
about Chase Brown. The other side, you heard Florida talk
about Rico Dowdo maybe a go for the Panthers this week.
(08:26):
We santed to talk about earlier in the Weeklakwan but
Chewba Hubbard definitely a sit. I'm not saying he's a drop,
but he's getting hard to start him right now.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
Yeah, he's going to be collecting us on a lot
of people's benches for these next couple of weeks. And
it's understandable because again we paid draft investment for Chewba Hubbard.
But unfortunately, I want to keep echoing this. This ain't
the first time this guy has lost his job. But
I will of course handcuff him if he has that
matchup base in certain weeks, I know buys are still
going to be a coming up and on the way,
(08:54):
and you're gonna have to slide him into that flex position.
It's just more of like now your rostering guy that's
still behind another guy that does the job a lot
better than what he's supposed to do as the paid
running back. So it's one of those things. It's like
he's going to collect us. Just have your expectations in
order when you have to look for him. If you
can trade him and add him in a package to
ship him off, that's probably plan A to do right now,
(09:17):
because I see no value in holding on to him
to have stand alone, stand alone fantasy value.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
I mean, where are we on the Panthers offense generally?
Because Bryce s has been okay, Terorer McMillan's having a
good season. They're not necessarily like deep in fantasy, but
they've been better I think than we expected.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
Yeah, I think it's two players though that you started.
It's McMillan and en Rico Dubdell, and that's kind of
it for me. Bryce Young you could stream in the
right matchups, but he's far from a guy that you
play every single week and then like Exavier to get
Jalen Kocher. We want these guys to be things, but
until they become consistent. We've seen flashes out of these guys.
(09:55):
We know the capability and the talent they have, but
we need this offense to become more consistent before we
could start talking about more than just these two guys
as like every week starders.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
In my opinion, I think that's fair, but that's been
kind of nice to see the progress a little bit
step by step, even if it's not necessarily making these
guys fantasy relevant. There's things happening at heels. It seems
like in Carolina looking at some of the Week nine games,
will take a look at Sunday Night Football. At the
first touchdown odds for Sunday Night Football between the Seahawks
and the commanders Jackson Smith and Jigba the best wide
(10:28):
receiver in the NSC. I knew it was coming as
the leader there on the the category by Zach Charbonay,
then Kenneth Walker, you got Jacory Krosskey Merritts behind him,
and then Debo coming in there. At the end, of course,
we already know that Terry McLaurin has been ruled out.
(10:48):
It does look promising for Jad and Daniels to be
available this week, but waiting for official word at least.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
As the time of us doing this show.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
But looking at this game specifically, Florio jays And has
been amazing so far this year. It's a good matchup
on paper though for the Seattle wideouts. Can you trust
any of their pass catchers though after Smith and Jigbo, I.
Speaker 2 (11:09):
Don't think so, Like I wouldn't want to, maybe if
you're in a pinch or something like that. But we've
seen stretches this year where Cooper Cups flashed a couple
of games where he looks good. We've seen there was
a couple of weeks where Elijah Royal was like the
number two target, then aj Barner. So I think everything
is hyper focused and funneled through JSN, and after that
(11:32):
it kind of varies week to week, and I think
Darnold kind of just goes to whoever's open after that.
To me, it's kind of there's no one on this
team besides JSN, and that includes the running backs that
I think are anywhere close to a must start each week.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
That's sort of fair. I envision a world Lakwan where
Cooper Cup has some sleeper vibes this week?
Speaker 6 (11:52):
Are you on board with that?
Speaker 5 (11:54):
Is he playing?
Speaker 1 (11:55):
Like?
Speaker 5 (11:55):
Is he on the Seahawks still?
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Because what production has he done to beget in his
said on a national broadcast fantasy network right now to
be talking about Cooper Cup.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
I mean, what has he done?
Speaker 6 (12:07):
Is that two good games?
Speaker 1 (12:07):
He's had a couple of good games.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
I'm sleep I'm sorry I him because because he's not
fantasy relevant whatsoever. Like I'm not trying to be mean,
like Cooper Cup has done nothing this season for fantasy managers.
I don't know one person who's rolled him out there
in starting lineups and said, yeah, I feel confident about
winning this week.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Well, the former best NFC West wide receiver now teaming
up with the current best NFCA.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
I mean just forming like Voltron up there in the
Pacific Northwest.
Speaker 6 (12:35):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (12:36):
Wait, come back. I have a real question to ask you. Now,
you gotta come back and sit down for real, for real.
Though we were super excited about Bill, you know, Jacory
Krosky Marrit had a couple of weeks where he really
was popping in that offense, the last couple of weeks
have not been particularly great for him. Seattle's defense has
been better than average. I would say, are you still
(12:58):
comfortable starting jays see him this week?
Speaker 6 (13:02):
No?
Speaker 4 (13:02):
And it makes it harder with no jds. So it's
like one of the situations where we know Bill could
be a great player, Like we see these highlights. We
see he's able to cut outside really well in between
the tackles, like he has all the talent packed with him,
And I feel like I don't want to label him
this type, but it feels like a p Checko situation,
like he's great on the ground, but he needs to
be in scoring opportunities to rack up these fantasy points,
(13:24):
like having nine fantasy points per game for a guy
that we know is good on an offense that should
be in striking distance more often than not, but dealing
with injuries is what's hindering me to have that trust
in Bill, to have that ability to give back at
least ORB two flex type of numbers on a week
to week basis. But right now we're not sitting in
a situation like that right now. With JCM, Yeah, I
(13:47):
mean it was.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
I think there'll be better weeks for him coming, but
it seems like everybody's kind of clued into what he
is doing.
Speaker 6 (13:55):
You know.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Maybe it also would help having a healthy Jaden Daniels
kind of having his offense back in full, but it
hasn't quite worked out. We take it a look at
the Monday Night football game plus some more starts and
since we dive into wide receivers and tight ends, that's
coming up after the break here on the NFL Fantasy
Football show, Look at You Monday Night Football. It is
(14:17):
the Arizona Cardinals heading to Dallas to take on the Cowboys.
You can see that game, of course on ESPEN eight
fifteen pm Eastern florio Is this a Kyler Murray week?
Speaker 6 (14:28):
It has to be right.
Speaker 2 (14:29):
If it's not this week, then when is it. The
Cowboys are the best matchup a quarterback could have in
fantasy this season they've allowed the most fantasy points, They've
allowed the most passing yards, they've allowed the most touchdowns
passing touchdowns, and the most rushing yards two quarterbacks and
the second most rushing touchdowns.
Speaker 6 (14:50):
Like, if this is not a Kyler Murray week, we
need to.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
Get Jacoby Brissaid in here or something like that, because
if it doesn't happen now, then when is it going to.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
I mean, Kyler this year has been functionally unstartable just
because the floor is fourteen, the ceiling is eighteen. Like
Kyler Murray lives in a tiny house. And that's not
a comment on his stature, Like he just lives the
floor the ceiling are really close together. With Kyler Murray,
it just makes him hard to start.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
If he doesn't get twenty points this week, I think
you could just drop Kyler Murray probably because it's not
gonna get much better than this.
Speaker 1 (15:23):
Yeah, Lakwan. Last week, Jake Ferguson had these same number
of catches as all three of us combined. Here is
this a bounce back.
Speaker 6 (15:30):
Week for him?
Speaker 1 (15:32):
It has to be.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
I think that, you know, looking at last week was
kind of like an outlier week. We know Jake Ferguson
is a function of that Cowboys offense. This is something
that I've been saying since the summer. He's been my
must draft tight end because he is part of the
function of the CD Lamb and George Pickens of this
offense with the great Javonte Williams. Right now, I think
this week against the Cardinals, there's some wiggle room for
(15:54):
him to have some production there top of the table
when it comes to a completion percentage allowed at the
tight end position and also completions period. So there's obviously
some upside there for Jake Ferguson to find some work,
and I think this would be a good week for
him to bounce back at least to be a tight
end one.
Speaker 1 (16:10):
Yeah, I've been telling people to start him. If if
you had him last week and you got the zero,
I understand you're upset. It was just a bump. It's
just a speed bump, man, like it's.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
Gonna get better for play us mess up.
Speaker 6 (16:22):
I do. I agree with everything you guys are saying.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
I also think it is a cell high opportunity because
he's been the clearcut third target since CD Lamb has
been back, so like he was he's not going to
be the tight end one like he was the first
seven weeks of the season the rest of the way.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
In my opinion, I think that's fair. I think that's fair.
You can probably get a lot for him because people
need tight end help at this point. We'll get to
tight ends in just a little bit. We get back
to our starts. And since we're looking at wide receiver
in the Florida who do you like at the wide
receiver position?
Speaker 2 (16:51):
I like the Jags guys, because the Raiders are in
the top four not only in fantasy points allowed to
wide receivers, but specifically in yards to out wide wide receivers.
Speaker 6 (16:59):
A Ladd McConkie.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
He has been giving Wi Just Chargers wide receiver one
fantasy wide receiver one production for the last month. The
Titans play a lot of his own coverage. Marvin Harrison Junior,
Just like what Kyler Murray. If it's not this week.
Speaker 6 (17:12):
When is it?
Speaker 2 (17:12):
If you're not starting him against the Dallas Cowboys, why
are you rostering him? Roma dunsays, and must play in
this one against the Bengals. For me and Wandel Robinson,
no team allows more production to slot receivers than the
forty nine ers and then the Sids Stefan Diggs the
tough matchup against the Falcons, and the Patriots are just
spreading the ball and the production around at such a
high rate. Jamison Williams watch this will be the week
(17:34):
he catches like one long touchdown, but the volume just
hasn't gone his way and the vikings outside of the
Eagles game have.
Speaker 6 (17:41):
Been very tough against wide receivers. Matthew Golden.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
I think we're getting to a point where Christian Watson
could surpass him in the routes and target pecking order.
Speaker 6 (17:50):
Jacoby Myers.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
I want no part of any of the Raiders if
it's not Brock Bowers or Jacoby Meyer, h Ashian Genty
and then key On Coleman. It pains me to say,
but he's not getting used properly and the Chiefs are
such a tough matchup.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Yeah, Chiefs tough matchup there, So Kean Coleman just at
this point I can advt he's not been the guy
that I thought he would be coming into the season.
Let's go back to one Dale Robinson though, because it
is a good matchup Mkwan, but also Wandea Robinson really
having a nice season for the Giants.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
No, for real, We've been seeing a lot of Wandall
Robinson used downfield, which we love that his A die
was able to increase and actually double from what it
was last year. But I got to pump the brakes
this week. Actually, if I have other options that have
safer floors, I'll probably pivot that way because there's one
thing about the forty winers, they always find a way.
They find a way to get the job done. And
I know it's a weak point where they're going to
(18:40):
be operating following him in the slot. But in the
games that we've seen dark as the starter, Wando Robson
hasn't been like one of the big fantasy assets when
you look at the games that he popped off Darius
Slayton wasn't playing. But then when Darius Slayton comes back
into the picture, we see a season low last week
in his targets per route run who has and star attention,
(19:01):
And I think, honestly, you still get off with having
him in the flex this week, but my expectations are
kind of low. If I have better options for higher ceilings.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
This week, I'm looking forward to next year. I know
we talked about Molak Neighbors earlier this week, Floria, but
Wandel Robinson, he might be Are we gonna overlook him?
I guess is the question, you know, after what he
did this year.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
I think it's very likely the Giants either draft or
sign another out wide wide receiver. And if that is
the case, then it dings Wandell because volume is what
like outside of that game against the Cowboys, when Neighbors
was out there, he was just all floor, you know,
So now we're getting more upside with him as the
primary target.
Speaker 6 (19:41):
But I do think the Giants had on.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
The said side of things, Jamison Williams. He was a
guy that I was hyping up coming into this season.
It made me feel a little bit better, Lakwan to
see John Morton basically come out and say we admit
that we have failed Jamison Williams and trying to get
him the ball. So I just want to say that
I was right. It's the lion too or wrong? Sure, sure, sorry,
and I'll keep fighting that fight for Greg Dorts.
Speaker 5 (20:04):
But anyway, at the end of the day.
Speaker 4 (20:07):
You love that John Morton is going out there taking accountability,
saying hey, I need to do a better job and
get him more involved, because it's been some weeks since
we've seen James and Williamson really cash in to hit
his high ceiling. The last time he had over one
hundred yards was in week two and that was the
statement game. That was the prove it game. That was
the game like, hey, you guys don't need the point
to our freaking franchise low of yards per play. In
(20:29):
week one, they got it together. That was the bounce
back game to where after that we haven't seen Jamo
really utilize at his peak. So hopefully, hopefully this week
when we sit him, he goes off and shows some
life and this will be the week that he shows
momentum that they can build on. After John Morton took
some accountability.
Speaker 1 (20:46):
Yeah, I just want to say that I knew what
was happening and I'm putting this all in John Morton's
lap for my take this and good.
Speaker 4 (20:54):
I'm fighting the good fight for Greg Dorts. I'm blaming
Drew Petson. It's all good. I know Greg dortsch can ball.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
It had nothing to do with us. It was completely
the coaching that let us down. As as what happened there. Yes,
let's move over to the Florida Who do you like?
Who do you not like?
Speaker 3 (21:08):
This week?
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Tyler Warren is a must start and I just included
him because he's coming off of a down week. Aroande
Gatson the second. Obviously, what he's been doing has been
tight end one production. But the Titans play zone coverage
close to eighty percent of the time, and in the
last month, Gatson has almost double the amount of yards
against zone. It's any other Charger player. Jake Ferguson, We've
already spoke about him. Kyle Pitt Senior three weeks in
(21:32):
a row making it into the start side of stardom,
Sitdham in a really good matchup against the Patriots, and
then the six dalton Kin kid. He has played the
Chiefs three times, never top fifty yards, never scored a touchdown,
never reached ten fantasy points, and the Chiefs have been
even better against tight ends than they have in the past.
Evan Ingram, it's just not happening right now, and the
(21:52):
Texans are a really tough matchup. Hunter Henry since week four,
I think it is, he's averaging like less than four
targets per game.
Speaker 6 (22:00):
And TJ.
Speaker 2 (22:00):
Hawkinson again another player that is just simply not happening
for rookie quarterback or second year but he's played eight quarters,
he's taken over again, tough matchup, all of that. Like,
I think Justin Jefferson is the only vicing you can
start with confidence.
Speaker 1 (22:13):
Yeah, I think it's fine to call it JJ McCarthy
a rookie. I know technically he's not, but really he is.
At this most rookies have.
Speaker 6 (22:19):
Played more football than j McCarthy.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
That's that is not a lie. Ronde Gatston Lakwan, he
is the tight end hero that we didn't know we wanted,
but we absolutely deserve.
Speaker 5 (22:34):
Yes, a couple of things.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
I'm glad I didn't make the deal that I would
dye my hair blind of Arondez gass a top five
tight end this season, because I've been screaming this guy's
name since he's been drafted. So I think at the
end of the day, mister Rondez Gassen Senior, og tap
in with the fantasy streets, bless us with another week
that you bench your own son and don't listen to
the critics saying.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
How can he bench his own son?
Speaker 4 (22:56):
Because fantasy is first, he's trying to stack the wings
playoffs around the corner. Trade deadlines are closing up. Mironde
Gaskins needs to be a start for everybody else, but
a sit when it comes to his father.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
All right, but I will say you did say if
Harold's Fannon Junior is a top five tight end, you will.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
Go full blown this time.
Speaker 6 (23:17):
He is seventeen points.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
He's the tight end seven and he is seventeen points
away from the top five.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
I was hoping Florio forgot about this.
Speaker 2 (23:26):
You the one to bring the pub the blonde thing,
and then I was like, wait, we have Harold Bannon.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Oh my gosh. Here the good news is they're gonna
buy this week, so he in theory could follow a
couple of spots back. Please, And you gotta hope that
Dylan gab you not trade David Nijoku. Don't trade Dan Joku.
You hope that Dylan Gabriel doesn't just get hot or
something like that down the shape T J. Hawkinson. You
were not on the TJ. Hawkinson trained Florio.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
And I were.
Speaker 4 (23:56):
So would you like to take a victory lap on? Yes,
I would like to take a victory left. But I
will also say this, though, right, you guys are far
off we didn't. We couldn't really see the entire board
of JJ McCarthy getting injured. But I think my ticket
to the TJ. Hockinson Show, to the hype train, it's over.
I don't roster him anywhere much more. I've traded him.
Speaker 6 (24:18):
He is on.
Speaker 4 (24:18):
Collection of dust and other leagues. But shout out to
Ronde Gaston's dad, I mean senior. He's been starting TJ.
Hockinson over his son. So I think honestly he's doing
bare minimum to stay in that slot, to kind of
have his dad to be able to stack these wins.
So it's kind of weird and ironic. You know, he
bought tickets to that TJ. Howkinson show, and I can't
believe that he's a happy customer either.
Speaker 1 (24:39):
I mean, it's gonna make Thanksgiving kind of awkward at
the at the Gaston household.
Speaker 6 (24:43):
That's all I'm gonna say about that. All right.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Anyway, if you want more of the starts and sich,
you can go to the NFL dot com slash start
and Sit and get some in depth analysis on every
single one of the guys that we mentioned here and
maybe even a few more. So get yourself the biggest
Cuple forred Shotta you can find we got our spicy
hot takes.
Speaker 6 (24:59):
For week nine.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
Let's probably have come up with something more Halloween theme,
like the Scary Good Predictions for Week nine or something
like that.
Speaker 6 (25:06):
I liked your original prediction better than the one I'm
seeing on the run down.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
Oh well yeah, I changed it up. No, I'm gonna
tell you go back and look at the history on
the documentary hit Undoe. I'm gonn look at the history
on this one.
Speaker 6 (25:19):
The player that Lakwan usually does not like. That's why
I was so.
Speaker 1 (25:22):
Excited for him. I will let you go with this
one that you have right now.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
Listen, I will disclose that d end of who it was.
But I have Justin Jefferson this week going for three touchdowns. Now, listen,
JJ McCarthy is the only reason why Justin Jefferson has
one touchdown. And Florio spoke about and I want to
echo this in previous parts of how Justin Jefferson can
stack those touchdowns. He can end up having three in
(25:48):
this game two in the next game, like he is
able to stack touchdowns when he has the ability. Half
of his end zone and red zone targets have come
from JJ McCarty Carson wentz, what were you looking at
when it came to strike distance? It's kind of crazy
to see that. But now with JJ coming in and
hopefully he understands this, assignmon get the ball to eighteen
in the end zone.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
All right, So justin Jefferson going big, we certainly all
like that. It's Floria.
Speaker 6 (26:13):
What do you have one that you're gonna like?
Speaker 2 (26:15):
And I don't know if Lakwan will, but I think
CMC has maybe his best game of the year. I
think two hundred yards and two touchdowns. Because you look
at the New York Giants, they allow over six yards
per carry. That is the highest by far in the NFL.
They allow explosive runs at the highest rate in the NFL.
They are on outside zone runs. They are allowing eight
(26:38):
yards per carry. That is almost a first down every
time a running back runs out wide.
Speaker 6 (26:42):
What you're seeing Christian McCaffrey, dude, right there, he's one
of the best in the NFL at doing it.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
I think this is not only a fantastic matchup for
all running backs, it fits his strength strength specifically.
Speaker 6 (26:54):
And if you are the forty nine ers, who else
are you giving the ball?
Speaker 2 (26:57):
To, you know, like you're building the entire thing around CMC,
and I think it's a game where they could be
playing from ahead opposed to have the last couple of
games have gone. So I just expect this to be
a huge Christian McCaffrey. Christian McAffrey has seventy four targets.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
I think the next closest person is like thirty nine.
It's like, it's ridiculous the gap between the Cfcabo the
best receiver in the NFC West might at this point,
He's definitely the most used receiver in the NFC WES
without a doubt. Speaking of a guy getting a lot
of usage, Kamani dal I got him going for a
buck fifty against the Titans coming up this week. He
(27:34):
is the last couple of weeks really been a workhorse
in this offense, about seventy percent of the snaps, seventy
percent of the rushing attempts. It's a great matchup, first
of all against a bad Titans run defense, but also
I expect that the Chargers will have a lead in
the second half and you could see them just feeding
Vadal over and over and over again. He's gone over
(27:54):
one hundred and fifteen yards in two of his last
three games. I think he makes it three out of
four in a big way this one, and some bonuses
if he finds the end zone at least once in
this contest.
Speaker 6 (28:05):
So there you go.
Speaker 3 (28:06):
Those are our hot takes.
Speaker 5 (28:08):
You guys, want to know what my other one version?
Speaker 1 (28:10):
I want you? Actually, actually I actually checked it. I
cheated and looked, but I do want to hear you
say it out loud.
Speaker 5 (28:14):
Ah.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
Well, I had Christian Watson going for one hundred and
fifty plus yards against the Panthers. Now I pulled that
back because I came a faked like I can't fake
the hype, fake the funk for players that I genuinely
don't like on my rosters. I mean, look, it just
it just feels like, you know, this would be the
week that he would explode. But the Panthers they're not
the defense that we knew in love back in the
past where you could just beat up on them. They No,
(28:37):
they're no longer their defense you could bully like. They're
allowing the fewest completion percentage on downfield throws. And this
is all where Christian Watson really gets all the meat
and potatoes of his fantasy points. So he's honestly a
sit this week for me.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
All right. So Christian Watson was in, now Christian Watson
is out. Boom boom. All right, goodfice for us to stay.
Speaker 6 (28:59):
You did that very well, but thank you. I appreciate you.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
That's one of my weird, useless talents, but I appreciate that.
All right. That is it. We are done. We appreciate
you hanging out with the NFL Fantasy Football Show.
Speaker 6 (29:11):
You know the drill.
Speaker 1 (29:12):
Tell two friends to tell two friends rate review and
remember taking a dog named Shark to the beach. It's
a bad idea. Be safe to take care of yourselves.
Enjoy Week nine, everybody.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
We'll talk to you again on Monday.
