Speaker 1 (00:04):
NFL Game Deview is a production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Everybody a Welcome to Game debut Patrick claybound here with
Greg Rosenthalt and Cynthia Freeland getting ready for Week nine
of the NFL season. So much fun football left to play,
and all of it very consequential for the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
I will never take for granted a Josh Allen, Patrick
Mahomes week.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
Let's go absolutely not.

Speaker 5 (00:29):
I mean we're going to We're gonna get this matchup
for a while now, and we're very lucky every single
time we get it.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Yeah, it's it's the opposite of a horror film in
that aspect because we get to enjoy it. If you're
like me and you're living in a personal horror film
where it's like the killer just keeps coming. It's Cynthia
Freeland who's won for three straight weeks, ten or more games,
get no, well, Cynthia, Yes.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
Everybody's behind Michael Meyer, but.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
Just unstoppable and now.

Speaker 3 (00:57):
Since like Halloween six, her and her model just coming
to get us every single Year's ridiculous.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
So yes, dual crowns. Cynthia and I are Todd. Let's
discuss some ball. The Bills in Chiefs met up in
last year's AFC Championship game. Won a matchup. It was
down three with two minutes ago before the Bob Josh
Allen's pass for Dalton kin Kaid fell incomplete. On the
next drive, Mahomes hit samaj p Ron for seventeen yards

(01:24):
to run out the clock. Casey won it thirty two
to twenty nine on their way to Super Bowl fifty nine.
If you want to discuss these two head to head
in the playoffs, you can kind of see how much
of a farce the whole QB win idea is because
Josh Allen has done a whole lot, a whole lot
to beat Patrick Mahomes in the playoffs. For what it's worth,

(01:44):
Josh Allen has been the starting quarterback in four regular
season games against the Chiefs team that started Patrick Mahomes
and won. So the teams face off Sunday in Buffalo.
The game could have huge tiebreaker consequences in the playoffs.
Who wins it?

Speaker 3 (02:00):
I like the Chiefs this week, which would break a
trend in terms of Patrick Mahomes struggling against Sean McDermott
and the Bills defense in the regular season. But this
is the same regular season Patrick Mahomes from the last
couple of years. This is back to twenty nineteen when
he was just lighting up the league, holding onto the
ball and making big time plays.

Speaker 6 (02:17):
Thirty one to twenty eight.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
I think it's a high scoring game because Mahomes has
been holding the ball just a little bit late, longer
and trying to make big plays.

Speaker 6 (02:25):
We saw it a week ago.

Speaker 3 (02:27):
So yeah, his time to throw this season has actually
been the lowest in the league, and he's facing pressure
the lowest amount, and he has so much confidence now
in his offensive line that you're seeing some of these
great Mahomes eam plays where he does hold onto the
ball a little bit longer and it's absolutely working. So
when he gets rid of the ball quickly, it's working.

(02:48):
And when he's trying to make extra plays, it's working.
I think they have the better offense, and I always
pick the offense.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Yeah, he's also running to an extent better than a
lot of quarterbacks in the league. Right now, I've got
the Kansas City Chiefs winning by two twenty six to
twenty four, because it feels like there are more complete
team Buffalo, not only having problems on defense, but also
dealing with big injuries on defense as well. But one
part of the Chiefs offense that you can nitpick is
the ability for not Patrick Mahomes to run the ball.

(03:15):
But they are good when they need to be in
certain scenarios. Kareem Hunt has a one hundred percent success
rate on goal hide carries this season. On third and short,
Kareem Hunt's success rate is seventy five percent. So with
Isaiah Pacheko out, yes, the run game perhaps loses some
explosive this, but gains it back in consistency. I think
he's key to what Kansas City wins.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
Cynthia, well, you know, I agree with everything both of
you just say said, and I would probably think the
Chiefs certainly do. But my model went rogue and picked
the Bills twenty six to twenty five a little bit.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
Yep, I know, prime number. I don't know whatever me
and the model.

Speaker 5 (03:49):
Are fighting, but ultimately I looked into it, and the
way that the O line has been playing for the
Bills is the reason that my model has picked them
to win this game. Why Well, to start with, they're
allowing so many yards before contact to their running back
James Cook, that's huge, two hundred and sixty nine. He
actually has the most in the league and they played
one fewer game than many teams. And then when it
comes to Josh Allen and figuring out the different ways

(04:11):
to keep him just enough covered, just enough protected, just
enough to be able to do some things that in
some regards he has no business doing with some of
the kind of you know, the pass characters maybe aren't
the strongest.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
In the league. How do I say that better than that?

Speaker 5 (04:25):
But ultimately Josh Allen's making masterful things happen, And in
large part it's because he has such a great O line.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
All right, and Cynthy has a great model, which is
why she's back in top at the picks. We'll see,
we'll see if that's super.

Speaker 6 (04:38):
The prime number is ten and four listen, which, if you.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
Think about it, means Patrick and I are four and
ten when we.

Speaker 6 (04:43):
Go up against you.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
I'm gonna be honest, I just was like, what, okay, whatever.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
It's time for get more with Gico Cynthia. Who's more
likely to have three or more total touchdowns passing and rushing?
Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen both.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
Oh oh, Okay, am I only allowed to pick one?

Speaker 2 (04:58):
Well, you gotta pick one, Okay.

Speaker 5 (04:59):
If I'm gonna pick one, I just have a higher
probability of Josh Allen having a rushing touchdown, So I
picked him here so I could talk about that rushing
touchdown because I love Josh Allen to have a rushing touchdown.
So we're not in write that down yet, but you
can write it down. Josh Allen will also have a rushing.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
Touchdown, right I think both of them have at least
three total touchdowns.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
A bonus problem from Cynthia Friedland there as the Chiefs
and the Bills, Yes are Juggernauts, but the hottest offense
in the league right now belongs to the Indianapolis Colts.

Speaker 7 (05:25):
Shotgun stat for Jones hooking left, He's going to take
a shot.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
In throns a laser towards the pylon and that is
a catch for.

Speaker 6 (05:32):
Michael Pittman Junior.

Speaker 7 (05:33):
Pittman stanned it in with one hand on a twenty
one yard apptolute dark throned by Dangle Jones, Mike colp
Pittman Junior.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
The high flying Colts heading to Pittsburgh to take on
Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. I'm taking the better offense here,
thirty one to twenty five because Daniel Jones is dealing
right now dimes. His only face pressures this season ninety
three times, but forty five percent of those have been
quick pressures. How's he done when pressured? Five touchdowns, zero interceptions.
He's got seven games with a passer rating over one hundred.

(06:04):
If he does it again this week, he'll tie two
thousand and seven Brady and twenty eleven Rogers. Both those
guys won MVPs, one of them won a Super Bowl.
Because you know, we only celebrate when you can win
every single game but lose the last one and all
of a sudden, you know it's not worth remembering. But yeah,
both of those offenses very good. I've got the Colts
winning here, Cynthia.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
I have the Colts winning as well, but by just
two points, twenty seven to twenty five. I think picking
the Steelers will be a very trendy pick this week. However,
I think the Colts win this one. I want to
give some love to Josh Downs because we kind of
talk about Michael Pittman.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
We definitely talk about Tyler Warren.

Speaker 5 (06:37):
I don't know if anyone's talked about Jonathan Taylor more
than us, but ultimately Josh Downs has now quietly emerged
as this guy who's running some really interesting routes and
finding himself with tons of space to work with. And
it's interesting to see another wrinkle involve being added to
this offense that's already averaging thirty three point eight points
per game. So Josh Downs, go pick him up in
fantasy if you don't already have him.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
But I think this is a great game for him,
a great opportunity for him to maybe end up in
the end zone again this week.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
I love me some Josh Downs. And you said it'd
be a trendy pick. Take the Steelers. Well, I am
nothing if not off trend. So you have it like
a two point margin. I think it's ten for the Colts.
It's it's a huge mismatch because when the Colts have
the ball, Yes, me must away Steelers fans. The Steelers
defense has been awful this year, and yes, it's partly

(07:24):
because the expectations were higher.

Speaker 6 (07:27):
They are the most.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Expensive defense in the entire NFL, and you know what
they've done. They've given up the most points through seven
weeks of any Steelers defense in the Mike Tomlin era.

Speaker 6 (07:38):
Forget about the steel curtain.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
This is like the steel bedsheet just flapping in the
wind and soggy.

Speaker 6 (07:44):
It won't even get dry. It's it's just gross.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
I think they are one of the most static defenses
in terms of predictability, and they're going up against one
of the most dynamic offenses.

Speaker 6 (07:56):
Mismatch Shane Steiken versus Mike Tomlin Here.

Speaker 2 (07:58):
Check the foundery. The porosity on that steel is very
high there. Yes, we're all on the Colts against the Steelers.
If the playoffs started today one that would be weird.
But two of the Colts will be the number one
seed in the AFC and the Steelers will be the four.
The third seed will be the Broncos, who may have
unlocked a new secret weapon last week. Toss is it

(08:20):
left side? This is Harvey Harvey is a big run.
R J.

Speaker 7 (08:23):
Harvey's loose the touchdown the rookie RJ Harvey forty yard.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
House call, shotgun snapped r J. Harvey Harvey and the
wildcatch takes it off right guard and he's got a
second touchdown of the game. The versaal RJ. Harvey Harvey
in the flat wide open, Harvey gathers it in tiptoes
at the end zone, touchdown Denver and for RJ. Harvey
that is his third touchdown the Broncos and the Texans.

(08:50):
Dennriver on a five game winning streak. Nico Collins trending
towards playing for Houston. Is that enough to make the
model believe?

Speaker 5 (08:57):
Cynthia No, I think this will be another trendy pick
to pick Houston this week. But I have a two
point win for the Broncos twenty one to nineteen. Why again,
we go back to O lines. You just watched that RJ.
Harvey film, Go back and watch it again, but watch
the O lineman created all of the Quinn miners and
that belly of his, which is my favorite thing about him.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
I love how he you know, in.

Speaker 5 (09:19):
Practice, he lifts up his shirt and he gets a
tan on that belly. It's very It's fun when you
go watch training camp. Patrick and I were there ahead
of the season, But I love watching this O line function.
In large part we've seen bo Nick's throw just a
ton of screen passes this season.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
That's been their formula so far.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
But he doesn't really have to. He's had a lot
more time behind the line of scrimmage. Perhaps that means
we will start to see some of the longer stuff develop.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
We saw it last week.

Speaker 5 (09:44):
A bit against the Cowcas that doesn't really count though
I don't necessarily think, but I think this is a
good O line, and to me, in this defensive matchup,
O lines are the dictator of who wins this one,
and by far and away, the better O line in
this game, Denver Broncos.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Yeah, I'm going with the Denver Broncos as well by
a small margin because you mentioned the screen game for
the Broncos. I think it needs to be in play
because you have to account for one of the better
edge defenders in the NFL right now, in Will Anderson Junior.
So it's a nineteen eighteen win here by one point
in my pick. Because Will Anderson has been so good.
He's got a twenty point eight percent pressure rate, number

(10:21):
two in the league among edge defenders. He's also top
four in run stuffs among edge defenders. There's only so
much scheme can do. I think he's going to make
a play, Greg, He's going to cause some problems for
the offense, but the offense for the Texans is enough
of a problem that they don't win the game.

Speaker 6 (10:36):
Okay, this is where I know I'm on the right
side of this.

Speaker 3 (10:39):
Just Greg that you're talking about the Texans defense when
you're not even picking them, it's just trag nation.

Speaker 6 (10:44):
We're back. I changed the pick to the Texans.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
I just wanted to give all the just Greg nations
something to root for here early in the show, and
it's cause bo Nicks. He struggles against pressure. Of all
the starting quarterbacks in the entire NFL, only two have
a lower yards per attempt when under pressure this year
than bow Knicks four point one yards per attempt when
he's under pressure. So yes, he's not pressured very often.

(11:10):
But when you play the Texans and Will Anderson, you're
gonna get pressured. You know, the two quarterbacks that actually
have a lower yard to attempt, who are they?

Speaker 6 (11:18):
Jake Browning and Russell Wilson.

Speaker 3 (11:21):
Now I'm not saying bow Nicks is gonna get bench,
but the only two.

Speaker 6 (11:24):
Quarterbacks have been worse under pressure, they have gotten bench.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
So let's go Texans, Dar and Chared let him turn
the season around. They've given up the fewest points of
any defense in the league. Let's go get a win
for me, for.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Greg, for a Hall of jes If you are not
motivated by everything else doing for Greg, It's time for
Who's Eating Good? Presented by Applebee's. Well CJ. Stroud dicing
up the Niners defense last week, Cynthia, will he pass
for more than two hundred and twenty two yards against
the Broncos?

Speaker 6 (11:53):
He will not.

Speaker 5 (11:53):
You talked about that pressure rate, Well, no one has
a higher pressure rate than the Broncos, and nobody has
more sacks than the Broncos.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
They have thirty six, which is.

Speaker 5 (12:01):
Ten more than the next closest teamjds O line not
really been doing him a ton of favors in this one,
so I'm feeling pretty strong about that. And you talked
about only rushing with four. You know who has the
highest pressure rate when rushing four?

Speaker 6 (12:15):
Fancy Bronco.

Speaker 5 (12:16):
The fancy Bronco picks. Oh yeah, the fancy Bronco picks.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Who's Eating Good? Presented by Applebee's Serving those who serve
us All veterans and active military duty eat free at
Applebee's this Veterans Day on Tuesday, November eleventh, Dying in Only.
We're just getting started here, on game debut. Up next
Jared Goffin. The high flying lines are fresh off the
by they got JJ McCarthy and the Vikings coming to town.
Does Cynthia's squad need to be on Upsettler? Are picks

(12:45):
coming up next? On game deview, there's the snap gets
it to me?

Speaker 6 (12:59):
Or open the left side up the hash still fighting
at the one?

Speaker 7 (13:02):
Did he get in this way? Read touchdown Detroit Lions?
Shamir with a p from this defensive line. He's dead
and the Lions are three scores on Can you smell it?

Speaker 2 (13:14):
Detroit? Yes?

Speaker 7 (13:15):
We think did you smell it?

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Smell skoo? That was Jamir Gibbs scoring his fourth touchdown
as the Lions clinched the division last year against the Vikings.
Time for season season presented by Caesar Sportsbook. The first
touchdown score odds according to our friends and Caesars are all.

Speaker 6 (13:33):
I didn't wear Honolulu blue.

Speaker 4 (13:35):
Greg looked at me and just shook his hands. I
didn't do it.

Speaker 6 (13:39):
What disrespect?

Speaker 4 (13:40):
I'm not Caesar's Let's.

Speaker 3 (13:42):
Beam away on this, Bears fans or Vikings fans.

Speaker 2 (13:46):
Let's like, well, I'm sure some Bears fans will probably
have some thoughts on that as well. Let's dive into
the matchup. The Lions coming off their by while the
Vikings are getting JJ McCarthy back. Does JJ McCarthy turn
things back around for Minnesota here.

Speaker 6 (13:57):
Greg, Yes and no.

Speaker 3 (13:58):
He allows Vikings fans to feel optimistic because their young
quarterback takes a step forward and at least keeps them
closer than those eight and a half points. I think
it's a good game. It's a game the Vikings need
to win. Why don't we go back to Week one
and see some of the positive moments from yes NFC
Offensive Player of the Week Award winner JJ McCarthy. It's

(14:19):
been a dark six weeks and a lot's gone wrong
with the Vikings defensively on the offensive line, and I
think just a lot has been put on JJ McCarthy's
soldiers that hasn't been entirely unfair. They struggled in that
Week two game against Atlanta. I think it was the
game plan. He didn't practice on Friday because he had
a baby. I just think this is a time to
establish JJ McCarthy as the quarterback of the future. It's

(14:42):
a tough matchup, so I'm not going to pick him
to win, but I do think it'll be a close,
competitive game where people feel a little better that, hey,
JJ McCarthy is a promising young quarterback for the future.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
I kind of agree.

Speaker 5 (14:52):
I have an eight point win, which is a little
less than eight and a half. I have twenty eight
to twenty.

Speaker 4 (14:57):
Yeah, we ry.

Speaker 6 (14:59):
We love the wild roarer there from Cynthia.

Speaker 5 (15:01):
I'm not the roarer though anyway, And I'm first some
Caesars first and m killer.

Speaker 4 (15:06):
There's a lot going on here today.

Speaker 5 (15:07):
But when I'm looking at the opportunity for Jared Goff
to stay doing so well against the Blitz like he
has done like a one thirty seven point seven passer,
and you know why, because the run game works so
darn well both of these guys, as in Jamiir Gibbs,
who clearly loves to score touchdowns against the Vikings.

Speaker 4 (15:23):
It's kind of his thing.

Speaker 5 (15:24):
He does it a lot, and I mean like twice
a game for the last few games. But ultimately to
David Montgomery as well, it's a good opportunity to kind
of look at where the interior o line has come,
how far they've come this season. This will be a
good opportunity to test it because you know, Brian Flores
is not going to want to allow them to run
in the middle of that line. But I just think

(15:45):
that now we've started to see this O line really
come together with the changes in the middle, thus allowing
both of these running.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
Backs to get into the end zone.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
And it's something that we've seen through the most of
this Dan Campbell era with Jared Goff and David Montgomery,
Jamiir Gibbs and i'm Mon Ross Saint Brown. The offense
is so good. I will take them to win by
more than the number. I've got A ten point went
twenty eight to eighteen. Mimus away Vikings fans because eighteen.
I think they get some late points, which is tough

(16:12):
to do early on in the game, because they got
something going on in the secondary. Shout out to the
Legion of Whom, Guys like Nick Whiteside, who was targeted
six times by Baker Mayfield, gave up one catch, Arthur
malt was making plays in the run game and in
the past game Thomas Weep the team played great with
injuries as well as the suspension. Now Brian branches back.
If things do go left for JJ McCarthy, like Greg said,

(16:35):
please contextualize it with what the Lions defense has done
to other quarterbacks and let JJ McCarthy be a guy
who's starting for the first time in the NFL, still
very young, like it's gonna be fine. Chill out just
a bit. Sees the season. Brought to you by Caesar

twenty one or older. Ce Caesars dot Com slash promos

Speaker 8 (17:03):
It is second and for the Bears from the Ravens three.
Caleb Williams in the shotgun takes the snap looking to
the left, slings it complete, but at the two yard
line on market to the one quickly to the line,
Caleb Williams quarterback.

Speaker 9 (17:18):
Sneak He's not gonna get there. The Ravens stop him
shy of the goal line. It's fourth down. Williams takes
the snap, wants to throw fires to the back of
the end zone in complete. No Dj Moore wide o't
and it's all handshakes now.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Miscommunication there at the end because Caleb saw something different
than DJ Moore did, by the way, but still is
a rough ending for the Bears. Last week in Baltimore.
Now they got the Bengals, who might be without Joe Flacco,
got an ac joint spring. What do you see taking
place in Okay?

Speaker 5 (17:50):
So my score is assuming that we get Joe Flato,
got it all right?

Speaker 6 (17:55):
Got it?

Speaker 4 (17:55):
It's still Chicago winning.

Speaker 5 (17:56):
But it would be Chicago winning more convincingly should it
be Jake Browning. But I have twenty five to twenty
four a one point win. Joe Flacco is that valuable.
I'm looking at the opportunity here. We need to see
something with Realmo Dunze as in. I believe he's going
to have a big game, but I want to.

Speaker 4 (18:12):
Actually see it take place.

Speaker 5 (18:14):
Why because I've seen him become like stepping into the
Aman rat Saint Brown role. But now the defenses, and
even though this defense has a lot of question marks,
a lot of things I don't understand, a lot of
things that don't make a lot of sense. But what
I'm saying is he needs to show up big.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
In this spot where he's forecasts to show up.

Speaker 5 (18:33):
Big, and a lot of that will be on Caleb
Williams to make the right reads.

Speaker 4 (18:36):
It'll be on the right play line. All things that
I think can happen.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
So I think Romo Dunze this could be that moment
where we say, okay, that like we're really seeing him
like get into that next level, that next echelon of
wide receiver.

Speaker 2 (18:48):
Yeah, I think he will. I have the Chicago Bears
win as well. Twenty five to nineteen, Cynthia was talking
about them maybe not living up the expectations against the
defense in Baltimore that was probably better than the numbers
that they had season long. The Cincinnati Bengals defense might
actually be worse now than their season long numbers, and
that's saying something. They have to go up against a
very explosive running game. DeAndre Switch has been really good

(19:11):
as the Bears have been great on the ground. After
the bye, they're playing the Bengals, who have hit running
backs behind the line of scrimmage at the lowest rate
in the league. The Bears are top three in the
league at keeping running backs from being hit in the
backfield behind the line of scrimmage and number one since
the bye. This is a rough mismatch. I've got the
Bears running all over them.

Speaker 3 (19:32):
I love that you point out the mismatch in the
running game because I think it's the same In the
passing game, the Bengals get no pass rush. Trey Hendrickson
is not one hundred percent. Jamar Stewart, their number one
pick does not have a QB hit all season. I
think it's a blowout in terms of the Bears winning
this game because of that bad Bengals defense. I don't
think people have really wrapped their minds around what happened
last week in Cincinnati. This was a let's pack it up,

(19:55):
the season is over type of defensive performance by the
Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 6 (20:00):
The Jets hadn't scored a touchdown in two weeks.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
They literally hadn't scored it in two weeks, and so
many plays in this game, you didn't even see the
Bengals linebackers on the field, Like where are they?

Speaker 6 (20:11):
It's these two rookies Demetrius.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
Knight and Barrett Carter and they're just not ready to
go ultimately, and they're not being coach well. And I
look at Ben Johnson, who is once the assistant for
Zach Taylor, but I think he's a much better coach
and I think he's gonna pick on this Bengals.

Speaker 5 (20:25):
Do we have to say it yet again? Maybe Lou
an Arumo wasn't the problem.

Speaker 6 (20:29):
He was not the bigger problems.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
We're gonna keep saying it till significant problems over there. Also,
the Jets catch as straight as we're discussing that game, Hey,
it gets better. Jets fans, don't sleep on Sam Darnold
and the Seahawks. The NFC West leaders have a big
one coming up Sunday with the Commanders. We'll Seeattle'll come
off of the by surgeon. We'll let you know after
the break.

Speaker 6 (20:58):
Well.

against Washington's defense that's among the worst in the entire NFL.
Let's discuss more Seahawks commanders Washington hoping to have Jayden

(21:42):
Daniels back, but he will be without Scary Terry on
the weekend of Halloween. So it's unfortunate because he's such
a big part of what they do.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
Cynthia, Yeah, and that drove a difference in my score. Actually,
it was twenty five to twenty two in favor of Seattle.
Now it's twenty six twenty two in favor of Seattle.
Why don't we talk about Jackson Smith and Jigba even more?
Why don't we talk about Sam darn even more until
their names start getting mentioned amongst the duos like the
Puka Nukuas and Matthew Staffords. The guys are absolutely the

(22:12):
top of leak because their stats are showing that what
Jackson Smith and Jigua has been able to do when
defenses are absolutely aware that he is the primary target
that Sam Darnold is looking for, has been pretty epic.
I love watching his route running, I love watching him
just shake off defenders his work on the perimeter. It's
been really fun to see him take this pretty massive

(22:34):
step forward now that he's the feature guy, so I mean,
I expect to see a lot more of that because
in this situation, the Commander's defense they very vulnerable to
the kind of stuff that JSN does, So I expect
a big game from him and a big game for
both of them.

Speaker 3 (22:47):
I like that you change the score so it's to
four because now we're on the same side. Because this
is one of my favorite picks of the week. That's
why I took it on NFL Daily. Yeah, that's making
our picks. I think the Seahawks double up on the
Commanders double up. I think it's twenty six to thirteen.
I think the Seahawks could be the very best team
in the NFL, and the Commanders are struggling right now,
and they're struggling to protect whoever's that quarterback.

Speaker 6 (23:07):
It's gonna be Jade Daniels this week.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
Lararemy Tunzel might not be out there, and they're playing
one of the best pass rushes in the league. They
have the fourth highest pressure rate, which is really impressive,
and you think, okay, they must be sending a lot
of heat. No, they are the thirty first in terms
of blitz rate, so only one team sends heat extra
defenders more than the Seahawks, and yet they get home.
Whether it's Leonard Williams or Boy Mafi, it's not just

(23:31):
one guy that you can pick on. They have such
a deep group of pass rushers and so you don't
know who to double team. But they get home, and
I think Jane Daniels will struggle because of it.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Yeah, we're are unanimous on this. Mimus Away Commander's fans.
Twenty five to eighteen is my predicted score. And yeah,
Greg talked about a lot of the talent upfront on
the defense. Let's go on the back sock where they
get a whole lot of contributions from young guys like
the rookie safety guy who's playing slot corner at six
three and twenty pounds out of South Carolina, Nick e

(24:02):
man Worri. He played ninety two percent of the up
against the Texans. He was in coverage, He had poor
pass rush snaps, He had thirteen run defensive snaps. The
completion percentage when CJ. Strouds hearted him was twenty five percent.
Just one piece of a defense and a team. As
Greg pointed out, that's got talent all over the place. Yeah,
let's talk more about the Seattle Seahawks, their offense and

(24:23):
defensive players. We'll get them in every conversation.

Speaker 5 (24:26):
I ill good that they've been as of right now.
I reran all my models for the playoffs. I have
them winning the division. I understand rams fans would be
like what, but no, I have the Seahawks winning the
division right now.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
Yeah, it's a tight division. We'll see how things go.
Speaking of their opponent, they watching the Commanders. The NFL
International Games continue on NFL Network on November ninth, versus
the Falcons and Colts in Berlin. Then on November sixteenth,
we get the Commanders and Dolphins in Madrid. Snooze all
game on for Sunday Morning Football only on the NFL Network,
also streaming with the NFL Plus and script required for

(24:57):
NFL Plus visit plus dot NFL dot com for terms
time for two minute drill and by the Wells Fargo
Active Cash credit card. Let's make some quick picks here
on game debut. We'll start with the forty nine Ers
and the Giants, both teams coming off of losses. Who
gets into the wind Collinson.

Speaker 5 (25:15):
Oh Sticking with the NFC West theme, I have San
Francisco winning this one twenty four to twenty one. Until
the Giants can figure out a way to stop outside rushes.

Speaker 4 (25:23):
From being so effective. I'm just going to.

Speaker 5 (25:25):
Keep talking about that as the key to beating them.
Why because if you're looking at any metric when it
comes to this explosive runs, rushing yards, rushing yards, overexpected
probability of expected points at all of these things, you
know what happens.

Speaker 4 (25:38):
They're just like getting absolutely dashed.

Speaker 5 (25:41):
And this is a team that runs to the outside
about fifty seven percent of the time. Christian McAffrey understand
didn't have a ton of production last week. That doesn't
matter if he's gonna make for a bit make up
for it this week on outside rushes.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
All right, we are all aboard the forty nine ers.
There are the Falcons and the Patriots Atlanta hoping to
have Michael Pennings junior back. New England has won five straight.
Do they make it six in a row? Brick?

Speaker 6 (26:02):
I think they do.

Speaker 3 (26:02):
I think it's gonna be close than the number indicates.
I have the Patriots winning twenty three to twenty one.
But which second year quarterbacking, and I have trust it's
Drake May In these deep passes that he's completing week
after week. You look at some of the numbers he's
put up and compare him to the Tom Brady MVP
seasons and like they are better for Drake May early.

Speaker 6 (26:22):
In the season.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
The numbers downfield are a little outrageous. You're seeing the
throws to Kayshawn Booty. That connection, in particular on deep
throws has the highest pass rating of any tandem quarterback
to wide receiver in the league.

Speaker 6 (26:35):
So stop saying he doesn't have great receivers.

Speaker 3 (26:37):
He's got Kaishan Booty and it's making it happen week
after week. I think it's gonna be Booty over aj Terrell.
Let's say late in this game, all.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
Right, we've got the Patriots keeping that streak going, the
Falcons losing two in a row. Let's go to the
Panthers and the Packers Green they lit up the Steelers
last week. I think they keep it rolling here against
that Panthers run defense. They win at twenty seven to seventeen.
Because the last time we saw the Panthers run defense,
yeah it was James Cook in the great Buffalo Bills
offensive line, but he had a generational day on the ground.
Way over two hundred yards on nineteen carries. The Bills

(27:09):
run game is good, so is the Packers. I feel
like it's a little bit closer than thirteen and a half.
Hopefully Bryce Young is back at quarterback for the Carolina
Panthers and that helps. There's going to be more opportunity
for Rico Dawdell as Dave Canals has said that, yeah,
Rico's going to get more of the running opportunities, keeps
it closer to thirteen and a half. But we're all
on the Green Bay Packers still to come here the

(27:31):
game of the year, the Chase and the Bills Sunday
in Orchard Park, Mahomes versus Allen's teams, respectively, So you
know that there's going to be plenty of fireworks. We're
talking player drops for this monster matchup coming up next
on game debut.

Speaker 9 (27:53):
I'll watch every other quarterback run of the tunnel and they
just run out like this, and then I get up
come out.

Speaker 6 (27:58):
I'm like, what love you all, boys?

Speaker 9 (28:02):
Huh big big dome so finishers game. Kelse back in
the Jo touchdown, he just does what he wants in
the craziest bars.

Speaker 6 (28:16):
I know he was gonna do it. I was like,
they ain't running the corner. Love y'all boys, here we go.

Speaker 2 (28:22):
Time for more or less seer on Game day View
the Chiefs and Bill's squaring off Sunday in Buffalo. We
can't wait for this one. A lot of star power,
so let's talk some player props. Cynthia will start with
you more or less than two hundred and ninety five
passing yards for one.

Speaker 5 (28:37):
Patrick mahomes well less, not because I don't think this
is going to be a good game, but unlike Greg,
who thinks is gonna be a very high scoring game,
I actually think that it will be a lower scoring
game than projected.

Speaker 4 (28:48):
So I just think it's gonna be fewer than that.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
Again, I like three touchdowns or more for each quarterback
in this one, though, just feery yards, few arts.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
So let's go to Greg Josh Allen. Yeah, I'm more
than one passing touchdown in the game.

Speaker 6 (28:59):
We're going, what are we talking about? Low scoring?

Speaker 3 (29:02):
These are two of the greatest quarterbacks in the history
of the game, at the peak of their powers, and like, oh,
I'm not afraid.

Speaker 4 (29:08):
I didn't say low scoring. I said lower than expected.

Speaker 3 (29:11):
I'm saying high scoring, higher than expected, higher touchdowns and
thiose fans have been having a little bit of a
conversation lately.

Speaker 6 (29:19):
Is Josh Allen, you know, playing quite as well as
he's played the last few years.

Speaker 3 (29:23):
I think he just needs a big game like this
to feel truly alive inside, and he's gonna play great,
summon the.

Speaker 2 (29:30):
Energy from Josh Allen, who has heard in the sound
before we got to this telling folks that he was
too big. Yes, too big, also too big to deal with.
On the defensive side, is Rashie Rice higher or lower
than seventy receiving yards, folks, I'm going more. I'm going higher.
Here's why, because they're playing the Buffalo Bill's defense where

(29:52):
they kind of struggled in yards after catch, yards after contact,
yards after carry the most explosive threat with the ball
in his hands for the Chiefs, it's actually Rashia Rice,
and I think that we're going to see it in
this one. So more on that one. Back to Cynthia.
James Cook got a monster game last week. Now we
just needed to get significantly less than two hundred nineteen

(30:14):
yards seventy five rushing yards higher or lower and more
or less.

Speaker 4 (30:17):
Oh, I like your new little like this thing that
you did here.

Speaker 2 (30:19):
Oh likes it?

Speaker 5 (30:21):
Yeah, well you'd have to go down for whatever. I'm
not going down.

Speaker 4 (30:23):
We're going to go more for that one.

Speaker 5 (30:25):
I already told you that the key for the Bills
in this matchup is to get the run game going
and be consistent with it. So I think seventy six
yards is very achievable. It's not two hundred and sixty
five or whatever it is last game, just kidding his
two fifteen, but it's not. It doesn't need to be
that high. I think eighty yards would do it.

Speaker 3 (30:43):
You know what keeps me up at night now, But
she's going to get a prime number on us, Like,
how does that happen?

Speaker 6 (30:48):
She took the Bills, we took the Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (30:50):
It is the running game, because how have the Bills
won all these regular season matchups? For instance, It's because
their offensive line has overwhelmed Kansas City on the ground.

Speaker 6 (30:59):
You know who's got the.

Speaker 3 (31:00):
Exact same offensive line year after year, more talent, more
continuity than anyone.

Speaker 6 (31:04):
It's the Buffalo Bills. So I could see this happening.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
Okay, I still go about Spags in company over there
stopping the run to the extent that they might need to.
Travis Kelcey found the end zone last week more or
less greg than half a touchdow.

Speaker 6 (31:18):
Oh it's more.

Speaker 3 (31:18):
I mean Travis Kelcey and Patrick Mahomes are nothing if
not you know, guys who have a flair for the dramatic.
They know this is going to be the most watched
game of the season. They know Travis Kelcey can become
the all time leader in touchdowns in Kansas City Chief's history.
What better matchup to do it than against the rival Buffalo.

Speaker 6 (31:40):
Bills against a group of safeties.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
If we just want to talk x's and o's who
haven't been too great this year. I mean, Travis Kelcey
is marrying one of the master marketers of the world.
This is his chance to stamp himself even greater on
the national stage that he's somehow already is.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
Yes, people will know who Travis Kelsey is.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
I'm just saying, do you want to do it this
week or do you want to do it at like
one pm against the Titans.

Speaker 4 (32:04):
Let's do with this, I mean one pm.

Speaker 5 (32:06):
They are playing at one pm, so I guess it's
four o'clock then one o'clock out here. But yeah, I
think he also catches five passes. Now who goes in
the end zone for the Chiefs? To me, that's like,
you know, you could you could like roll a dice
and figure that out, because Patrick Mahlmes is dealing and
kind of dealing to everyone. But I think he has
at least five catches. I feel pretty strongly about that.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Okay, we'll have a one more opportunity to feel strongly.
Khalil Shakir fifty receiving yards. It's more. I think it's
more because I think it has to be. I'm not
gonna get him the scorefest territory like Greg here, because
I think that both of these teams have sustained drives
and if the Bills are going to score a few points,

(32:45):
which I think they will, it has to be more
than fifty receiving yards for Khalil Shakir because his run
after the catch opportunity is great and while the Chiefs
defense does not allow that same type of rep Khalil
Shakier is still pretty good player. I think he gets it.

Speaker 3 (32:59):
Sees Pagnolo is so good because he somehow coaches up
this secondary even though you haven't heard of these guys
to be better than they. And there's been one guy
who's been very quiet this year in terms of quietly effective,
Shamari Connor. But a year ago at this time and
in this match that they picked on him, and they
picked on him in the slot with Shakir So I
like that matchup rightly.

Speaker 5 (33:17):
Fifty yards too, so yards after the catch will be
big in that one.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
No surprise, the game is expected to be one of
the highest scoring matchups of the week. Check out the rest.
The Dallas Cowboys defense once again featured in the highest
total fifty three and a half total points, then the
Chiefs and the Bills, the Bears and Bengals, Colt Steelers,
the forty nine Ers, and the Giants all the highest
totals of Week nine. Time for What's Ahead, presented by

(33:41):
Credit One Bank. The Cowboys and Cardinals Monday Night, again
expecting to be the highest scoring game of the week,
Arizona hoping to have Kyler Murray back. Which team wins? Here, Cynthia, you.

Speaker 6 (33:51):
Know what what's up?

Speaker 5 (33:51):
I have Dallas winning this one by one point twenty
seven to twenty six. I this is a very interesting
defense to try to figure out, because it's like, can
you hold someone off, and because there's more rushing project
did for the Cardinals.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
That's what drives the score for me.

Speaker 5 (34:06):
And also George Pickens's ability to be that number two ish,
number one ish guy depending on what's asked of him
in a situation.

Speaker 4 (34:13):
Just stay away from Buddha Baker.

Speaker 5 (34:15):
But I'm watching George Pickens in these tight window situations
and it is it is pretty fun to see. He
also has the longest neck of anyone I've ever seen,
which I really appreciate for some very weird reason. But ultimately,
I think his sure handedness and his ability to navigate
some of the traffic because I don't think the Cardinals
defense gets enough love for who they are in terms
of the secondary when they're healthy, et cetera. But we

(34:37):
love Buddha Baker.

Speaker 4 (34:37):
On the show.

Speaker 5 (34:38):
So I'm gonna say his name at least one more
time Buddha Baker is on their on the defensive.

Speaker 4 (34:42):
Stay away from Buddha.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Great necks in NFL history, We'd be like a great
NFL Films episode. Martin Hankers shout out to Mike. Mike,
we were all thinking it.

Speaker 2 (34:51):
Yeah, obligating Gerd Pickens right up there. I'm also obligated
to point out Cynthia and I have the same exactly
twenty seven to twenty six, and so much of that
is because not just how I feel about the Dallas
Cowboys defense, but what they have showed in twenty twenty five.
They struggled in the run game, they struggled against screens,
but the place that's been the worst has been deep passing.

(35:12):
On attempts over ten air yards, They've allowed a one
hundred and thirty two passer rating and fourteen yards per attempt,
better in both of those categories than Dat Prescott's deep passing.
As good as Dat Prescott has been in twenty twenty five,
the Cowboys defense has been even worse. I've got a
still a solid win, but I just wanted to talk

(35:33):
about that defense, correct now.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
I mean, once again, you're just talking trash on the
team that you picked. Yeah, and I once again I'm
going to take the pick against that that trashy defense.

Speaker 6 (35:43):
Let's go Cardinals. Let's just greg it up.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
I feel great about this because of my eye test,
the way the Cardinals have played in recent weeks, and
then also because Kyler Murray is in the building, even
if he's not the starting quarterback. He is eight and
oh at Jerry World at and T Stadium. Patrick Clayband
earlier this week said the consensus greatest high school player
in Texas history.

Speaker 6 (36:06):
The best high school football state.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
There is until maybe California. We're taking the crowd now.
So five and zero in high school, two and zero
in college, and one of those is Jermaine to this
week where he actually wasn't the starter, but he came
in as a backup on A and M and just
ran the ball a little bit.

Speaker 6 (36:22):
Maybe they'll use.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Him in a pack package if it's Jacoby Brissett. So
here he is lighting up in high school. He did
it as a pro for the Cardinals. And if you
think about the last two Cardinals game, they were down
to the last play against two of the best teams
in the league, the Packers and the Colts.

Speaker 6 (36:36):
Think they played well in those games. Think they are
turning the corner.

Speaker 2 (36:39):
Kyler burn forty two and oh as a starting quarterback
in high school, it's fun stuff. We come back. The
last time we saw Matthew Stafford, he was dicing up
the Jags for five touchdowns. The West is up for
grabs and Sean mcvay's squad has their eye on the prize.
We are previewing Saints against the Rams and the rest
of the Week nine slate on the way. On game

(37:00):
debut this Sunday, November second, you can get NFL Red
Zone from NFL Network for free. That's right, see every
touchdown from every game this Sunday afternoon for free. Go
to NFL dot com slash red Zone free preview and
check your local providers for pe takes time for quick

(37:23):
picks here on game debut the Chargers and Titans. The
Bolts put a feat down on the Vikings last week.
What happened Sunday in Nashville.

Speaker 3 (37:31):
I think they put a beat down on them thirty
three to twenty one. But I do think the Titans
offense has been playing better of late. Ultimately, the Chargers
have too much when it comes to their offense. Justin
Herbert is the quote perfect quarterback. That's not according to me.
That's according to Titans defensive lineman Tovandre Sweat, who has

(37:52):
clearly been watching what Herbert has been doing. Scrambling this year,
he averaged more per carry on scrambles than any quarterback
in the league. It has been a very pointed coaching idea.
I think Herbert came into the season Saints, I'm going
to improvise more. He's also been making more plays, I think,
out of structure because he's needed to and this is

(38:14):
a game where he should be protected. While that Titans
defense has just really banged up with Jeffrey Simmons likely
out this week.

Speaker 2 (38:21):
I'm glad the Chargers given a little bit healthier as
they have been playing some better football the Jags and
the Raiders in Vegas. Jacksonville has lost two in a row.
Do they write the ship here soon?

Speaker 4 (38:31):
They do?

Speaker 5 (38:31):
Twenty four to twenty a four point win in Las Vegas.

Speaker 4 (38:35):
But I want to talk about brock Bauers.

Speaker 5 (38:36):
Because he's been out and so we haven't been able
to talk about him, and him being back is a
big deal for an offense that's trying to score at
least double digit points in this one right like they're
averaging eight points that they need to kind of get
back on track well. Being able to use brock Bowers
in all of the different ways, even as you know,
on the field, to block to all the things that
brock Bauers is so good at. It will be a

(38:58):
difference maker. That's why you see I have twenty points
for Vegas in this one.

Speaker 3 (39:01):
Jacoby Myers also expected to return, and hopefully that means
they can just be a little more aggressive. The last
couple of Raiders games, it honestly felt like they were
trying to run out the clock on themselves, Like, just
get to the bye week.

Speaker 5 (39:14):
And don't forget Tyler Lockett reunion with Geno Smith. You
know we love a little little Seattle days firing it
up down South.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
Yeah, positive vibes to come back into a team that,
hopefully because having Gino play safety ball where they're worried
about turning the ball over, that's not Geno's game. Let
it rip, coach Kelly, Let's go to the Saints and
the Rams. Rookie Tyler Shuck will get the first start
for the New Orleans Saints. The Saints haven't had a
rookie quarterback win in forever. First last time it happened

(39:42):
was actually against the Rams. But I think the ramling
is successful here they win it twenty six to six.

Speaker 6 (39:48):
Oh my goodness.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
On the virtue is that an absurd sport?

Speaker 6 (39:52):
Points? It's tough?

Speaker 2 (39:53):
Well, it's a very good pass rush against the quarterback
making his first start, and on the other side, Kyen
Williams has been good. In fact, the best Kiren Williams
game was the best Rams win right there in sofar
stadium all not just that play sequence of plays where
average five point nine yards per carry against the Indianapolis Colts.
I like the Rams. We all like the Rams in

(40:15):
this matchup, and Greg has them getting one more touchdown
than I do.

Speaker 6 (40:19):
I mean that's significant.

Speaker 3 (40:20):
I just I don't want that for Tyler Shuck his
first NFL start. I think the real mismatch is Sean
McVay against his former defensive coordinator Brandon Staley.

Speaker 6 (40:31):
He knows all the tricks to the stay defense.

Speaker 2 (40:34):
And Brandon Staley knows a lot about southern California, so
he's gonna be for pared, knows where the locker room is. Yeah,
it's time to write this down here on game debut
as we get some prop predictions for Week nine. Greg Rosenthal,
why don't you start all right?

Speaker 3 (40:49):
I'm on a hot streak too, straight write this down victories.
Although well behind Patrick who's been on fire all season
with peas, I'm going with the Seahawks team total. It
worked for the Packers. I feel very strongly not only
about the Seahawks winning, but they're oftense scoring more than
twenty six and a half points against this Commander's defense,
which is both predictable, a little slow, and just doesn't

(41:10):
have a good pass rush. And this is against one
of the best deep passing teams in the entire NFL.
So if you want to work an alternate line into
the mix, I wouldn't.

Speaker 6 (41:18):
Be opposed to that either.

Speaker 3 (41:20):
But I really feel good about the Seahawks going over
twenty six and a half points by alternate line.

Speaker 6 (41:25):
I mean the Seahawks winning by more than a touchdown.

Speaker 4 (41:27):
Whoop, Okay, spicy.

Speaker 5 (41:29):
I'm gonna keep mine a little bit simpler because I
want to get it right. Justin Jefferson to have more
than seventy three and a half receiving yards against the Lions.
You know what is average against the Lions is in ten.

Speaker 4 (41:39):
Games one point eight. WHOA do you know.

Speaker 5 (41:42):
Who has more yards in a game against any opponent
intent that they face ten times or more than him?

Speaker 6 (41:47):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (41:47):
No one, that's the answer, No one. I get the
legion of whom is great. I also like that the
grammar is correct on that too, not the Legion of who,
the Legion of whom, and that's perfect, but justin Jefferson
at least seventy four receiving yards.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
I will take a simple one as well, because I'm
trying to pick out the defense. I picked out the
defense with the Dallas Cowboys and fortunately that was right.
I'm six and three on right fist downs on the season.
That's something I can celebrate. Travis Ytn is gonna have
over fifty nine rushing yards against the Las Vegas Raiders
because the Raiders run defense hasn't necessarily been great and

(42:22):
Travis Etn has been pretty good at the start of
the season. Hopefully after the buye and to break after
the beat down in London, the Jacks will be better.
We appreciate you guys spending time with us here and
watching game debut. Enjoy all of the games. For Greg
Rosenthal and Cynthia Freeland. I'm Patrick clayboun We'll see you
next week. Have a great week nine everybody.

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
