little marathons.

Welcome to Good.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Morning Football, presented by Old Trapper.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
That is the voice of Jamie Hrdaal, who is on
her way back from Parts un none actually parts known
in Europe. She's going to be joining us again, of
course soon. But guys, the work must go on, the
games must go on, and they did yesterday morning, noon,
and night, all kinds of games starting in Europe and
ending in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. How was it for you, la, quickly?
Just give us one word to describe the weekends games yesterdays?
(01:30):
Or will just still get the lead block?
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Why not?
Speaker 1 (01:33):
I'm not even driving. Jared Goff is Jalen Hurts. Both
those guys rarely lose in prime time. Second quarter. AJ
Brown got the ball a bunch season high in receptions
for seven catches, but only forty nine yards.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
And then we're gonna push, and we're gonna.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Tush and this is cush and this is cush slash
and tush slash and the Eagles score thirteen to six.
Jalen Hurts. Third quarter, Jared goff to Jamier Gibbs.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Just watch this, just marvel at the lessons? What another one?
What another one?
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Chris Pormer somewhere just wopping all over, whopping and whooping,
and he doesn't score, though they do get him on
the ground. That's forty two yards seven plays later that he.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
Was gonna lines are gonna go for it on fourth
and goal. A lot of this from the.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Dan man last night, and then a lot of this No,
oh for four and fourth down to that point in
the game, oh for five on fourth down When Dan
kimpbll doesn't get his fourth downs, the Lions lose fourth
and three. Nope, not a chance, not happening, Not on
this night.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
We'll talk about Jared Goffing a little bit.
Speaker 1 (02:33):
It was not a career night for him. But the
Eagles defense is incredible. Fourth quarter, sixteen to six, push.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
Push, fourth in inches. No, it has been smited or smoting.
All right, So that's a big victory for the Lions.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Okay, but now the Eagles baulted back again. They get
sixteen to nine, and wait, wait, wait, it looks like
it's a passing inter appearance on Rock you sin.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Oh boy. That is not a popular call. That is.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
In fact, there's a lot of talk in the streets
about that call.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
But guess what.
Speaker 1 (03:09):
The Eagles go on to win sixteen to nine, and
the Eagles defense was dominant. I'll give you a hot
take on that call. I don't care if they called
it or not. The Lions weren't going to score. Sorry
Lions fans, you know what, I know it The Detroit
deft who fill up the defense was amazing. Afterwards, we
were from both head coaches get into it.
Speaker 5 (03:27):
As I watch football today, I feel like there I
saw a lot of like teams waiting to lose. Our
team's waiting to win because they know how to win.
And there's something to be said for that of knowing
how to win and knowing how to figure out ways
to win.
Speaker 6 (03:41):
The coaches, all of us, man, everybody that's part of
this offense. You know, we got to be better, especially
in a day like today when you're playing that kind
of defense, that kind of team. You know, the margin
forera is so small, man, you don't have the luxury
like we get in the Redson. We have to score touchdown. Man.
We can't come away not scoring seven there. We just
we were a little off. We just couldn't get our
(04:03):
rhythm there.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
All right, This was not a pretty game, guys. The
score was not pretty. The box score was not pretty,
certainly for Detroit. But it's two teams that we trust,
we feel like we have a relationship with them, and
the two teams we feel are going to be there
and then at the end we see Philly just slapping
around that Detroit offense.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Detroit offense that is really revered.
Speaker 1 (04:22):
So, guys, Eagles defense, we know they're talented, we know
they're at home there was cold, but really what went
into them just slamming the door on.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Jared Goff in particular? How this happened, Well, KB, you
said it wasn't pretty.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
I thought it was beautiful.
Speaker 4 (04:34):
You know, me as a defensive guy, I thought that
what Vic Fangio and the Eagles defense put on.
Speaker 2 (04:39):
Tape was just beautiful.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
And I want to talk about what Nick Sirianni said.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
He said they're.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Waiting to win. The defense isn't waiting to win. They're
going out and they're winning. When I watch this Philadelphia
Egos defense, they are so good at what they do,
and this is what they do. They run man coverage,
They're extremely disciplined, and they're leverage on their receivers, which
forces a quarterback to have to throw the ball early. Now,
the defensive line knows that that the ball has to
(05:03):
come out early.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
So how many times did we see that ball bad?
At last night? I swear it was like watching a
volleyball game and it was like roof roof like.
Speaker 4 (05:10):
I just kept watching a different sport last night. With
the D line, the interior D linemen are too strong
for you to run up the middle. The linebackers are
too fast for you to run outside, and so the
only way for you to get the ball out is
your receivers have to win at the line of scrimmage.
If they don't win at the line of scrimmage, your
your quarterback has to wait until your receivers pass that
middle defender that's always in the middle of the field
(05:32):
in Vic Fangio's defense.
Speaker 2 (05:33):
But that rush doesn't give you time.
Speaker 4 (05:35):
And so I love watching Philadelphia Eagles defense because.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
They do their job.
Speaker 4 (05:39):
They're very very good at executing the plan that they have,
and they're good at getting pressure.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
So hats off to Vic Fando. I thought it was beautiful.
Speaker 7 (05:46):
Yeah, let me piggyback a little bit off that, because
I think the mark of a great defense is when
you start making these type plays, titballs, type plays, these
fun plays that are exciting for fans to watch. You know,
an average defense, you're just doing your job.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
You're setting ads.
Speaker 7 (06:00):
No Jordan Davis three tipballs, don't I don't think I
had three tip balls in.
Speaker 8 (06:04):
My career, which is probably more of a me problem.
Speaker 7 (06:07):
But this is again the mark of a defense is
starting to ascend.
Speaker 8 (06:10):
They're having fun.
Speaker 7 (06:11):
When I see guys doing the matambo celebration, we're.
Speaker 8 (06:13):
Bringing in other sports.
Speaker 7 (06:14):
As Manti mentioned, that's when you know this defense is
coming along.
Speaker 8 (06:17):
And the crazy.
Speaker 7 (06:18):
Thing about this is this DE line only had a
couple of sacks last night. It's not like this D
line had, you know, six seven sacks. They still found
a way to affect the quarterback. And again that's the
name of a great defense. Affect the quarterback, have fun,
make plays, celebrate, start making these big plays like tipball.
Speaker 8 (06:34):
So it was exciting. I agree, it was exciting to watch.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Yeah, it was exciting to watch because of the names
on this on the Marquee, I feel like Eagles Lions guys,
if we sit here and you told us that's going
to be the NFC title game, none of us would blink. Okay,
same locations, same everywhere. These two teams are great. But
then one team looked like it was an NFC title
game type team, and it was Philadelphia.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
The defense, good for them.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
This is a Detroit offense with made guys with Jared Goff,
who was on the varsity with all the weapons and
the speed, six nine points with nothing going on and
all down the stretch.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
I could not believe this.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
Guys, do you understand the last twenty passes for Jared Goff,
the last twenty pass attempts in a tackle football game,
he completed two, two completions, eighteen in completions. This is
a guy who a year ago had a perfect game.
He was like, it was the greatest, most accurate game
I've ever seen. He could not complete a pass. It
was the lowest completion percentage of his career. It was
(07:33):
down in the thirties. And I'll have you know a
few of those completions were just to running backs.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
So we know the Eagles defense is great. Good for them.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
We know that what the hell was this from the
Detroit offense. Because if you're someone who has suspicions about
Jared Goff, even after all these years that we've seen
him in the whole comeback story and Jared Goff chanting
in the streets of Detroit, if you have suspicions that
maybe outside in the elements, he's not that good, that
maybe outside of the dome He's not that good. This
was Jared la Lapalooza. This was really bad, really bad,
(08:03):
I understand, and a tough defense. Not everyone has a
great night all the time you have, you're off weeks,
you don't go two and eighteen in your last twenty
pass attempts. I know the d line is great, They're
not that great. I've seen this Eagles team get beaten
this year. And let's just let's take a step back.
Speaker 8 (08:19):
Guys.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Let's look right now at the NFC playoff picture. What
jumps out. I'll tell you a few things. Let's jump
out to who's at the top. All right, The Eagles
playoffs start right now, which they don't. They get a
buy and they have home field to vantage throughout the
Rams same record as.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
The Eagles, sitting there at eight and two. The damn Chicago.
Speaker 1 (08:38):
Bears are all alone in first place in the NFC North,
the team that the Lion's thumped. But it feels like
months ago. And then, for the sake of this conversation,
Detroit is now lurky. That means they're not in the playoffs.
They're six and four. If you believe Detroit will be
in the playoffs, which I still do. We're looking at
a scenario where it's very likely, guys, that they're going
to go to Philadelphia, very likely in the playoffs that
(09:00):
they get there. Who the hell knows, they mean, may
even go to Chicago. We don't know how this is
gonna where. You know the Eagles are going to be there.
I still believe the Lions are going to be there.
Let's talk about this because this is a conversation people
are having this morning. Aside from the passing, the appearance
at the end of the game, which I don't care
about because the Lions offense was so terrible.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
I don't think they would have scored.
Speaker 1 (09:17):
When you see Jared Goff and you see all the
incompletions and the total domination from the D line, how
does it make you feel?
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Forget Philadelphia? Second, how does it make you feel about.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Detroit in these NFC playoffs they are going to be
about I don't know seven eight weeks from now.
Speaker 4 (09:31):
Well, when I watch you, guys, right when you bring
a Jared Goff KB, I think is somebody that he's
shown this in a pass where if you can get
to him and rattle him a little bit, he gets very.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
Very uncomfortable. And he gets unsettled.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
And there are times where whether it's pressure or no pressure,
where there is guys getting in his face or not,
I think he gets rattled if you can get to it,
get in front of him enough. I also think that
when I watched last night's game, to your point, KB,
that pass interference call. It was a horrible call, but
was it going to really make a difference. I think
that thing that made the difference was I know Dan
Campbell loves going for it on fourth down.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
I know he doing that.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
There are certain there are certain situations in a third
quarter where I felt like, you're fourth and goal. Things
aren't going so well right now. Just kick the field goal,
Just get the three points, get on board. There was
thirteen to six at that time in the third quarter.
They went for it twice, fourth on five on the
Philadelphia thirty two and fourth and goal in the Philadelphia three.
How that game was going again, I'm I'm, I'm. I
(10:26):
can only see it from the outside. I'm looking at
a defense in the Philadelphia Egos defense that's just stomping
my offense. I need to be able to put some
points on the board. I need to be able to
get a little bit closer to beating this guy to to.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Decrease the point difference.
Speaker 4 (10:44):
And I thought that those two situations were also situations.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
That they're like, just kick the field goal, just.
Speaker 3 (10:51):
Put three points on the board. KB.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
It's listen, They're not ever going to do that. Man,
time they're going to go down. They're going to go
down on that horse. And you know that. That's why
I was frustrating last night because all the things for
the Lions are standards and expectations. They want to win
a super Bowl, not interested in going the divisional and losing.
They've done all that stuff before, and then you see
them last night against one of the elites on the road.
It was a tough, tough, tough game. Let's in the meantime,
(11:14):
let's talk about the Seahawks. How did they do? Because
there's a similar story here. Sam Donald in one of
the coolest stories in the league this year. He's never
been Matthew Stafford, but new Donald knew everything.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
The Rams in Black Jersey's good for them.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Matthew Stafford goes to the Monte Adams one yard touchdown,
it's fourteen to three.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
We're gonna talk.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
About Sam Donald a lot after this Jackson Smith and
Jugva has been maybe the most dominant player at any
position in the league this year, but not here, and
is intercepted by Kobe Durant, who has one of the
greatest basketball names of all time, but is playing football.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
It's his second interception this year.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
Sam Donald again looking no, intercepted by Cameron Kitchens. They
threw the Cameron kinchins the Kinchin sink intercepted again. That
is Sam Donald's. He felt like he had twelve interceptions.
She threw four or three of them were his fault.
Next Rams possession, fourth quarter, first in goal, Stafford rolling
(12:11):
out Colby. He says, nope and nope and six. The
Rams doing the thing now getting away from Seattle. Sam
Donald's gonna have to fight through one of these really
tough days for him. Later in the fourth so less
than a minute, they're trying to pull out a miracle
down two.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
This is exciting.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
Jackson's with a jig, but twelve yards out of bounds.
WA's this next play they have one time out there
not close enough for a field goal, but they only
have five seconds.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Four three two one hitch. He goes down time out.
Speaker 1 (12:39):
They immediately stop the clock. It was really close, but
they gave him one second, which means Jason Myers gets
a sixty one yarder. And kickers make everything these days,
but not this one. It was a no doubter wide right.
For once a kicker doesn't make a sixty some yard
field goal. Jason Myers misses, Matthew Stafford Shau McVay and
the Rams.
Speaker 2 (12:57):
Win a close game.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
You know that Sam Donald throws four interceptions and the
Rams still almost lose a lot of takeaways from this
Rams and eight and two, Seahawks seven and three. Let's
hear from both quarterbacks, Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold.
Speaker 9 (13:13):
I think our defense played out standing. They deserve to
be partying in. They're like crazy for sure, but now
it's fun. It's a great group. We understand. You know
that there's you know, things to clean up always when
you win or lose, but excited.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
For our guys.
Speaker 9 (13:28):
Man, that's a that's a big win against a really
good team that was playing as good as anybody in
the NFL right now. To come in there and put
up a defensive effort like that was was pretty special.
Speaker 10 (13:36):
Can't turn the ball over as much as I did today, Uh,
you know, I'll learn from it, watch the tape, grow
from it. I gotta give credit to you know, the Rams.
Obviously they're really good defense, really good team.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
But yeah, we just I.
Speaker 10 (13:49):
Got to be better personally, and I know we'll bounce
back and learn and grow from this one.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
All Right.
Speaker 1 (13:55):
So the record scratches a little bit, it really does
on Sam Donald. But the season is not over. They
have a good record, they're still headed for the playoffs.
And yet I think there's there's some scars his shoe
we have with Sam Donald, and some of it seemed
to be ripped open in this game with four interceptions
again three his fault, but fine, three interceptions.
Speaker 2 (14:13):
What are you thinking this morning about Sam Donald in
the Seahawks.
Speaker 7 (14:15):
Yeah, it's tough because Sam Donald is one of those
guys that over the last couple of years you've kind
of fallen in love with. He's consistently played well except
for these few games against the Rams and these bigger games.
This shoe now for Sam Donald is all the analysts,
all the folks on TV are going to be like,
who is Sam Donald actually when we need him? Why
does Sam Donald have a kryptonite? Why is he throwing
(14:36):
four interceptions against the Rams and consistently not playing well
against that particular team. I think of the great quarterbacks
like Tom Brady, you couldn't think of Tom Brady and
go oh that was the team and situation that he
didn't play well.
Speaker 8 (14:49):
So this is an unfortunate.
Speaker 7 (14:50):
Situation for Sam Donald because again, a guy who's really
overcome a lot of odds, put all this people that
slept on him, put him out of the way, get
him out of the picture. And then all of a
sudden you have these situations where it's like, why is
Sam Donald throwing four picks in a game that they
should win and it would put them over the edge.
So I think that's just the narrative right now. Who
is Sam Darnold actually in these situations?
Speaker 4 (15:13):
It's crazy about this whole thing, guys, is the Seattle
Seahawks offense still put up four hundred yards of offense
right like you're talking about if you just look at
the stat line, you're be like, well, there's no way
that the Seattle Seahawks should have lost this game. When
you talk about Chris Shula and who's the defensive coordinator
for the LA Rams, and they mentioned it a lot
in the broadcast is bend but don't break.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
You hear that.
Speaker 4 (15:33):
Hear that term a lot in football. They bend but
they don't break. What does that mean? Well, that means
that no matter how many yards that they will pulling,
the offense gets, no matter how many touchdowns they may score,
that the turnover margin is huge. But not only that,
I thought what was even more influential on this game
was the red zone trips.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
There are four red zone trips that.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
The Seattle Seahawks had last last yesterday.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Out of those four, three of them were.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
Field goals, and the Seattle Seahawks didn't score a touchdown
until late in the fourth quarter. That is what you
call bend but don't break. The Seattle Seahawks were getting
their yards, they were, but they weren't getting their points.
That's the thing defensively that you can look at and
really really be proud of yourself that man, we bent,
but we didn't break when it really really mattered. And
I thought that the mentality in the DNA of this
(16:19):
La Rams defense was so obvious. When they had an
interception to start off the second half. Two plays later,
Kobe Bryant Peanut punches the ball out of Pukakua's hands
and easily as a defensive guy, you could be like, man,
this is just how frustrating is this for us to
get a turnover and you just turn it back. They
go ten yards, they go ten plays with the Seattle Seahawks,
(16:41):
and they end up kicking a field goal. That for me,
as if I'm a defender, I can't hang my hat
on and be like, see, this is what our defense
is all about. We get to turnovers and we force
field goals. So I think defensively, they played a phenomenal game.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
This reps my engine, guys. Is the best time of
the year. This is it is cold. Now we're turning
the corner. Now the games really matter. And I love
this time of year because there are good quarterbacks, maybe
even great quarterbacks, But are there quarterbacks you can trust.
It's very different from being a good player and putting
up stats and fantasy and player of the Week and
all that, versus the guys you know you can depend
(17:13):
on when it gets cold and it gets heated. Can
you trust Sam Darnold? Can you trust Jared Goff? Can
you trust Baker Mayfield? We love those guys. Can you
trust them? Can you trust Lamar Jackson. Did you watch
Lamar yesterday? That was pretty weird. There's guys that are
great and then there's guys that you can absolutely depend on,
and sometimes the first category gets exposed and they're not
(17:36):
the second category. Wait till we see Daniel Jones and
Arrowhead next week. Wait do we see Patrick Mahomes. He's
not playing very well right now. It's a crazy, crazy time.
But to that point, let's see if we can still
depend on Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers
who played against the Bengals yesterday in another kind of
weird game where we have all kinds of updates coming afterwards.
Right after this highlight, Ian Rapport's going to be here
(17:58):
and tell you about Rogers.
Speaker 2 (17:58):
Why because seven to six.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Early the Steelers are when he takes his time, looks
very mobile and then gets taken down rows it away
no big deal, but it is a big deal because
watch his left wrist. It's gonna go down and he's
gonna have a player in land that he immediately grabs it.
Big nine out of ten wins right there, almost to ten,
thirteen to nine.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Now, this game was.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Nuts because the Steelers held on. There's kind of low
scoring and Flacco is gonna get intercepted here and this
is Kyle Dugger.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
That's great. He takes it for a touchdown and.
Speaker 1 (18:27):
He's gonna watch Jamar Chase selling off to try to tackle.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Him in no.
Speaker 1 (18:32):
Now, Mason Rudolph is going to come in and finish
the game for Rogers. Some even myself, thought that Mason
Rudolph might just be the guy this year. He might
be their Week one starter. He came in and played
like it. Rudolph was good in this game. I'm not
saying it was spectacular. He was efficient.
Speaker 2 (18:44):
He got the job done. Look at him right here,
a guy who was extremely busy.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
Kenneth Gainwell actually had nine carries and seven catches and
two touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
Rudolph great. Looked the part thirty four to twelve.
Speaker 1 (18:54):
Mustache Comlin needed to win badly because they're they're hanging in.
Speaker 2 (18:58):
There in the AFC standings. But speaking of hanging.
Speaker 1 (19:00):
In there, Ian Rappaport, you and I both in our forties,
talking about a quarterback in his forties. Aaron Rodgers, we
go down, he doesn't come back, and Ian, this has ramifications,
not just for the Steelers, this year.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
But for one of.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
The most prolific careers a quarterback we've ever seen.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
What's the deal with Rogers right now?
Speaker 11 (19:16):
Man, Well, Aaron Rodgers is going.
Speaker 12 (19:18):
To have test this morning just to determine how long
he is going to miss with his injured wrist.
Speaker 11 (19:23):
If he is going to miss time.
Speaker 8 (19:24):
Here is our understanding.
Speaker 12 (19:25):
This is something I've been reporting with colleague Tom pellisera
Aaron Rodgers does have a tiny fracture in.
Speaker 11 (19:32):
His left wrist. That is what the X.
Speaker 12 (19:35):
Ray at the stadium revealed yesterday. The reason why he's
going to have more tests After you mentioned a player
landed on his wrist. It was torqued in a way.
There was just too much pressure and a bone ended
up breaking. Aaron Rodgers, to my understanding, has told people
close to him that he will be back very soon.
He has told more people close to him that he
does not want to miss a game. He is pushing
(19:56):
to play in this game. I know it seems crazy
because he broke a bone in his wrist, but it
is a left wrist.
Speaker 11 (20:02):
If he's able to grip, if he's able.
Speaker 12 (20:04):
To receive the ball on the stat it is actually
possible that Rogers could play this week.
Speaker 11 (20:09):
I had someone tell.
Speaker 12 (20:10):
Me that he was essentially fifty to fifty to play
this week. So it sounds bad, But Aaron Rodgers does
want to play and is trying to see how he
could do it for the Steelers.
Speaker 3 (20:21):
Well, we're hopeful for that rap sheet.
Speaker 4 (20:22):
But somebody else who left the game was Jalen Ramsey
due to another on field situation with with Jamar Chase.
Tell us a little bit about that.
Speaker 12 (20:30):
That's right, Jalen Ramsey got ejected from last night's game.
Speaker 11 (20:34):
Did not see the Steelers win it out.
Speaker 12 (20:36):
He was ejected, according to referee Bill Vinovich, for punching
Jamar Chase. Now you can see the altercation right there
bottom of the screen. Those guys actually were getting into
it early in the game. There was multiple penalties on
those guys because of that.
Speaker 11 (20:50):
So let's get into this a little bit.
Speaker 12 (20:52):
Bill Vinovich met with reporters in the pool report after
the game was asked why Jalen Ramsey was ejected, said
number five in the Steelers punch number one. Okay, that's
pretty clear.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
Then in the.
Speaker 12 (21:04):
Host game locker room, what Ramsey told reporters that Jamar
Chase spit on him and there's a couple of close
up views on video online going around with it sort
of looks like it happened, and referee said he does
not believe that anything rose to that level. The NFL
is reviewing this, and precedent is there if the player
(21:25):
is determined to have spit on another player. Missing a
game is something that has happened Jalen Carter to start
the season as the example. So we will see whether
or not Jamar Chase gets suspended this coming week.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Thank you, Ian. Honestly, a horrible story. I hate the story.
It's pathetic.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
We have two of the best players in the league,
Jamar Chase, one of the best players of this decade.
I'm watching the video I and you're reporting the news.
I'm seeing a big old Hoka loogie right across the screen,
right towards Jalen Ramsey.
Speaker 2 (21:52):
The league will do with what they will with it.
But it is a.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Horrible, horrible story. I hate talking about. There's so many
great football games yesterday. We'll get into him. We'll get
more from you Ian as well. In the meantime, how
about Chief Broncos it was really tight. Is a great
playoff feeling to this arrowhead was rocking. Kelson played a great.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
Game, was it enough?
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Lots of questions to answer about the Chiefs and then
lots of exclamation points about the Broncos. I swear we're
gonna try to make this about the Broncos as much
as we can. But the Chiefs, what is going on.
It's a strange, strange place for them. We'll get into
red after this.
Speaker 11 (22:34):
Good mom.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
That's head of Buffalo.
Speaker 4 (22:40):
Guys swear the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and that man took
on this man.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
In the Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 4 (22:45):
If you want to see gun slinger, this was a
gun slinger. Started off in a second quarter, Bill's trailing
fourteen to ten.
Speaker 3 (22:50):
And Josh Allen is doing just Josh Allen things.
Speaker 4 (22:52):
He's scrambling by time and he throws a complete ball
to Tyro Shavers for forty three yard touchdown. Bills will
retake the lead fourteen to ten. That shavers second career TD.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
Fourth quarter buckstrung thirty one to twenty six.
Speaker 2 (23:06):
Baker Mayfield hit.
Speaker 4 (23:07):
Sean Tucker for a touchdown. Sean Tucker had an incredible
game last night. Guys three touchdowns, two rushing, one receiving,
but later in the fourth quarter Bills leading thirty two
to thirty one. Josh Allen, Guys, there's no defense for
that KB. There really is nothing you can do except
put up your two hands and say touchdown. The Buffalo
(23:28):
Bills will win a big one, forty four to thirty two,
fixtend their season seven and three.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Incredible.
Speaker 1 (23:36):
We're gonna talk more about Alan later, the player of
mass destruction after the exploded.
Speaker 2 (23:40):
And then there's this one. All right, bo Nicks at
home in the Orange against.
Speaker 1 (23:46):
The baddest man of the decade, Patrick Mahomes. Want to
beat the man, got to beat the man, all the
Rick Flair stuff, but.
Speaker 2 (23:51):
It's six to six in the third quarter. Mahomes doing
the Mahomes.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Thing, escaping, then the sideline, he's absolutely deadly, throws it
out no intercepted by Jakwan McMillan, who makes a massive
return of sixty three yards, but a pelty brings it back,
ensuing Broncos drive second and goal from the fourth.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
That is Jalil mcgloughlin. Remember no JK. Dobbins, he's out.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
They're gonna miss him down the stretch, but look at
hi about twenty dudes in there.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Denver out mustling Kansas City. Next Chiefs drive, third and
one of the Broncos two. I love Kareem Hunts.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
I love him, I love him, I love him.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
I love him. He runs so so hard.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
There was no there was He was the only guy
really in the backfield.
Speaker 2 (24:29):
There was no but Checko in this game.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
Fourth quarter, Chiefs down sixteen to thirteen on the road,
deafening at mile high.
Speaker 2 (24:35):
Kelsey turning back the clock.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
Oh my gosh, touchdown twenty one yards, his eighty fourth
grew touchdown, which passes Priest Holmes for the most in
Chiefs history.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
I love you, Priest Holmes.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Preest Homes had eighty four touchdowns in one fantasy season.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
I swore the guy. Later in the fourth quarter, two
of five left in the game.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Third and fifteen, huge spot for bow Nicks and he
finds Courtland's soon Jim Nantz calls and the Courton sudden mister,
third down, big throw for Knicks again in the fourth quarter.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
He was playing his bad that's because he doesn't play
very well for the first three quarters. But that's all right.
Nineteen nineteen on a.
Speaker 1 (25:08):
Second and eight, good night, everybody, Troy Franklin. That's a
big completion down to the fifteen yard line.
Speaker 2 (25:17):
They're gonna need.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
The kick though, Will Lux the Chiefs are gonna block
and I'm sure right not this year down the middle
Broncos win walk off win twenty two to nineteen. Sean
Payton an incredible job this season with the Bronco with
you when the playoffs last year. They went again this
year and look at the Chiefs. We're gonna look in
(25:38):
the standings shortly, but you will not believe what their
record is.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
Let's hear from the.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
Quarterbacks when you here from Patrick Mahomes. But first of all,
as he should be going into the bye week, young Bonnicks.
Speaker 13 (25:51):
If you want to be the best, you gotta beat
the best. And you know, if you're some say if
you're scared to go to church, but I think it's
good to if you're gonna play this sport, if you're
gonna play this game for for too long, you can't
really be intimidated or there's really no sense in going
out there.
Speaker 14 (26:09):
Obviously, it's gonna be tough to get back in the
division race, but at the end of the day, you
all the goal is to get into the playoffs and
try to make a run at it. And all you
can focus on is next week. We got to learn
from this one as much as possible, knowing that we're
gonna get a great, great opponent coming into Arrowhead this
next week. And we're kind of at that point where
we got to find a way to just to win
(26:29):
win football games and got to gotta keep moving forward.
That's what this league's all about.
Speaker 1 (26:35):
That's the face of the league saying it's gonna be
tough to get into the division race. And he's right
right now as they head into the by the Denver
Broncos are nine and two, the one seed over the
nine and two England Patriots. But the crazy thing, guys,
you're gonna have to take your eyes all the way
to the right of the screen where the Kansas City
Chiefs are five hundred. They're in the lurking column and
not even at the top. The next column over is
(26:57):
the Cabo column. We don't even have that one yet.
This is really really strange time for all of us
who have watched the Kansas City Chiefs roots keenly dominate
the AFC. Huge credit to the Broncos nine and two,
and we will continue to cover them all week. But
the eyeballs go to that team with the arrowhead five
and five and losing to bo Nicks on the road. Mantai,
(27:19):
what are your thoughts about the fact that we are
standing here in surreal times listening to Patrick Mahomes being like,
we just got to try to find a way to
win games.
Speaker 4 (27:27):
Well, I'm going to say this, KB. You said that
they're not in the cobble column. And for the people
at home that don't understand what the cobbole column is,
the cobble column is a set of teams that they
know they're not going to make it.
Speaker 3 (27:39):
And that answers my question, Kyle, That says my answer.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
Until the Chiefs are in the cobble column, I will
always have this.
Speaker 3 (27:48):
Thing that you asked. You said, do you trust?
Speaker 4 (27:50):
In our former segment, you said, do you trust I
trust Patrick.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
Mahomes and Andy Reid?
Speaker 6 (27:54):
I do.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
I don't. I don't. I don't know how you can.
Speaker 4 (27:57):
And I'm not saying you as and Kyle, I'm just
saying is in general, I don't know how people cannot
trust them if they have a chance. Guys, until they
are in the cobble column, Isaac, I will I will
always be on my p's andcuse when it comes to
the arrowhead and then and the arrow on the side
of the helmet because of what they've been able to
do in the past. Now it is twenty twenty five,
I do get it, But it also is November, and
(28:18):
we all known in the past that once December comes
they do morph into another team.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Will they do it this year, I'm not sure. But
until they are in.
Speaker 4 (28:26):
The cobble column, Isaac, I will always trust Patrick Mahomes
and Andy Reed.
Speaker 7 (28:31):
People are going to think that they give us scripted
answers because is this just good TV saying that the
Chiefs have a chance on paper? Let's just look at
it on paper. If it's not the Chiefs, it's some
random team. Andy Reid, Tizer coach Patrick Mahomes is in
the quarterback. On paper, this team is almost out of it, right,
They're right at the point where they're out of it
almost they're on the bubble of being out of it.
The AFC West is essentially gone for them. There's statistically
(28:53):
they have.
Speaker 8 (28:53):
Essentially no chance.
Speaker 7 (28:55):
And then to get into the playoffs, Eh, They've got
the coldes coming in.
Speaker 2 (28:59):
EH.
Speaker 7 (28:59):
Are they really going to be the team that overcomes that? Also,
I just when I I'm looking in that column and
then right before the Cabo column and these teams in
the hunt, I'm looking at teams that are ascending November
and December. This is not an ascending football team right now.
I think about the Ravens four games, four game winning streak.
That's an ascending football team that I have hope, and
(29:21):
them not going to the Cabo column. I don't feel
that way about this team. So right now I'm seeing
a team that's showing flashes. But on paper, eh, it
just is what it is. It's not the same Chiefs
that we've seen before. Kyle Kirasy or your point, well, Kyle,
I mean, they don't tell us what to say, but Kyle,
let's hear it.
Speaker 1 (29:39):
It's just so surreal because we keep waiting for them
to put the cape on and say, all right, here
they come. They come running. Last year, all they would
do is win close games. Every single wee week was
a close game they'd win. This year, this year, they
don't win any close games. Just historically in the Mahomes
era five and five right now, he was six and
four and twenty nineteen, won the Super Bowl. In twenty
(30:00):
twenty when it was three and four to the title game.
In twenty twenty three, he was eight in five won
the Super Bowl. But we have not seen five and five.
And bring up the standings again, guys, if you will
the AFC playoff picture, it's even worse than five and five.
And I'll tell you why, because Kansas City has lost
to all three current wild card teams, that being Buffalo,
(30:22):
the Chargers, and the Jaguars.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
To see those in the middle column.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
The Chiefs have lost to all of them, meaning each
of those three hold the head to head tiebreaker over
the Chiefs. So it's like they can't even catch those teams.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
They have to get past these teams.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
And you're saying a home on a second, I see Mahomes,
I see Read, I see all the guys. This is
the same band as always. Mahomes looks shaky as hell.
He does not look magical. He's twenty first in completion percentage,
he's fifteenth and passer rating. It's just not Mahomes. And
(31:02):
we were told, well, gets Rashih Rice back. She Rice
is out there. They don't involve him very much, but
he's out there. Sark is still running the defense. He's
on the sideline. The band is back together, the band's
not hitting the notes.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
And here's the deal. They have lost two in a row.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Right next week at home versus Nadianapolis Colts, Patrick Mahomes
never in his NFL career has lost three games in
a row. It has never happened, Never three in a row.
The Colts come in off the buy. They're going to
run the wheels off Jonathan Taylor with fresh legs after
two weeks break, and the Kansas City Chiefs is a
(31:40):
playoff game next week. If they lose next week, by
the way, in front of their home fans and Chiefs
Kingdom and all the Chiefs celebrity fans, and it's over.
It is not over now, it is not. It's damn
close to over, but it is not over. And Manti,
my last thing is a personal thing. I don't want
it to be over. I want the Chiefs in the playoffs.
(32:02):
I'm totally biased.
Speaker 2 (32:03):
I don't care. I don't care they win once they
get there.
Speaker 1 (32:05):
But you better believe, if something crazy happens where Buffalo
catches fire and gets to the super Bowl, I want
them to go through Kansas City or the story is
in complete. I want Baltimore to go through Kansas City.
I want Kansas City to be there. It's it's just
Patrick Ewing once screamed at Michael Jordan, who retired to
go play baseball.
Speaker 2 (32:22):
No no, no, no no, I need to beat you. Come back.
You can't retire.
Speaker 1 (32:26):
I need the Chiefs in the playoffs because whoever wins
those Nancy playoffs should go through the Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (32:31):
And right now, the Chiefs ain't going to be there.
Speaker 4 (32:33):
Yeah, you want to go through the Chiefs, especially in playoffs.
Speaker 8 (32:35):
City.
Speaker 2 (32:36):
I love that part.
Speaker 4 (32:36):
Mkap And and I want to address something that my
brother Isaac said about the teams that are ascending. I
also look at the teams that are currently in the
playoff picture, and what are they doing the way that
my Chargers played yesterday.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
If they play like that.
Speaker 4 (32:49):
They ain't gonna make it like let's just let's just
cut it straight. The way that Justin Herbert and the
offense played yesterday, it didn't look good. So when I
want the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Speaker 2 (32:59):
Aaron Rodgers, let's see how he does.
Speaker 4 (33:01):
There are certain teams in there that if you don't
close this season now and you allow the Chiefs to
get into that picture. That's how they get in. It's
not just the people that's in a lurking column. It's
the people that's in the wild card and the visional
leader call them if they don't ascend and if they
continue to decend. That's how teams like the Chiefs in
(33:22):
December get into the playoff picture.
Speaker 2 (33:24):
And that's that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (33:26):
As long as they're not a cobble picture, there's always
still a chance a right, hear you.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
The Chargers didn't look good, but they have the wins.
They're seven and four. Let's say they finished five hundred
over the last six games. They're ten and seven. The
Chiefs aren't getting up to them, and they have the
tie break over The Chiefs will continue to hash this out,
all right. Could the Panthers sneak into the playoffs? The
Panthers are six and five, guys, they're on the outside
looking in right now. If they play the Falcons, Michael
Panis Junior got hurt and would leave the game.
Speaker 2 (33:50):
We had Kirk Cousins in the.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Fourth quarter of twenty four to nineteen Atlanta winning and
then Bryce Young was outrageous in.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
This game, and I mean that in a good way.
Speaker 1 (33:58):
That's central McMillan twelve yard touchdown. Panthers convert the two
point con version twenty seven to twenty four lead Falcons.
They take a field, We're going to overtime, tied up
twenty seven to twenty seven. Panthers driving and following a
Falcon's punt.
Speaker 2 (34:10):
Check this out.
Speaker 1 (34:11):
Tommy Tremble is what the tacklers do when they.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
Get in his way. He's going, He's going. He's stiff.
Army's still going, guys, Bryce Young said.
Speaker 1 (34:20):
The Panthers single game passing yards record four forty eight.
Cam Newton step aside Ryan Fitzgerald.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Not Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Speaker 1 (34:30):
Ryan Fitzgerald a different irishman with a twenty year.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
Fiegal and the kick is good.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
The Panthers at six and five under Dave Canalis.
Speaker 2 (34:41):
There they are.
Speaker 1 (34:41):
They are on the outside, but so's Detroit. Look at
six three and one. Green Bay is not playing terribly well,
but they're hanging in. Seattle loses, San Francisco's getting it done,
Tampa loses. This is gonna a lot of football have
to play in that lurking Collin. Guys, It's gonna get
really really, really fun. Not fun usually on Monday mornings,
we go to ian Ian. The Falcons just cannot figure
(35:03):
it out. And I know, I know that the injuries
are not going to help with that. What can you
tell us about Atlanta right now?
Speaker 2 (35:08):
After that one?
Speaker 12 (35:09):
Now, Falcons are not looking at the possibility that two
of their best players will miss the next game.
Speaker 11 (35:14):
At least we'll see. Both players are getting test today.
Speaker 12 (35:16):
But we'll start with Drake London, the star receiver for
the Atlanta Falcons.
Speaker 11 (35:20):
My understanding is he has a knee injury.
Speaker 12 (35:22):
It is not considered to be major, but it is
also not considered to be nothing.
Speaker 11 (35:26):
So there's a very real.
Speaker 12 (35:27):
Possibility that London will miss a game or multiple games
pending the results of his MRI today. Not considered to
be season ending or significant, it's certainly something where they
could be without him. Meanwhile, for Michael Pennix Junior, another
knee injury and another bone bruise, the same bone bruise.
Our understanding, and this is someemth I reported with Tom Pelisero,
(35:47):
is that Pennix reaggravated the bone bruise in the same
knee from earlier in the season that robbed him of
one game. This likely means that he will not be
on the field this week as he heals, and sometimes,
as we saw a rock Perty, if there's an aggravation,
you could miss multiple games.
Speaker 11 (36:04):
Cousins could end up starting this week for them.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
Thank you, Ian. We will keep an eye on that.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
And we are keeping an eye on the Panthers and Bryce.
I'm just lighting up that dome and they are above
five hundred.
Speaker 2 (36:14):
Maybe they find a way in.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
Meanwhile, rewind that the coolest oh my god, JSN, the
coolest play is the most outrageous plays. Maybe it's from
a team that lost, like the Browns in this particular segment.
Speaker 2 (36:26):
We don't care.
Speaker 1 (36:27):
We want to just bring you pure, unadulterated eye candiates.
Rewind that don't go anywhere. Good morning football, Good morning football.
Speaker 15 (36:47):
You know there's a really special time of year. Is

Speaker 2 (37:35):
Congrats Maria.
Speaker 1 (37:37):
This is when the fun begins. Best feeling. On a Sunday,
You're watching live football and you say, who wha, wha, wha,
What's just happen? Give me the remote, give me the rote,
you dig in the Christians rope?
Speaker 2 (37:44):
Pause, rewind.
Speaker 1 (37:45):
Let me see that thing again, MANSI, What was the
moments yesterday watching games.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
That made you do that?
Speaker 4 (37:52):
There are some plays KB that take me back in
the past, and one of those happened to be with
Jalen Warren when he just there's something with the Steeler
guys and trying to hurdle people and ended up kicking defenders.
Jalen Warren comes up up there. He looks like he's
gonna hurdle a defender and then he just kicks kicks
his look at it, look ahead.
Speaker 2 (38:11):
It took me back to an Antonio.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
Brown bigness against the Browns and Spencer landing on a
punt return.
Speaker 2 (38:18):
Like he tried to. He's just straight up three hundred.
It's like, this is fuck on kicks the guy. That's
what I saw.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
Yesterday when I saw Jayleen Warren.
Speaker 2 (38:26):
It was like a pause in mid air, like this is.
Speaker 4 (38:29):
Not going to happen, and the foot just kind of
silently came out almost a kick.
Speaker 3 (38:32):
So that's the rewind up for me.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
Isaac.
Speaker 7 (38:34):
I got a good one in Shador Sanders. It's gonna
be on this clip. I know everybody's excited about it. Look,
there's one guy on this show that I want to
consistently talk about. Obviously, it's a Notre Dame guy. That's
Kyle Hamilton. I'm excited to watch this. But before we
start and watch his play, we have to count how
many guys the Ravens had on the line of scrimmage
against Shador Sanders in the last plays, because that also
(38:55):
needs to be talked about.
Speaker 2 (38:56):
Roll the tape.
Speaker 8 (38:57):
Let's see it.
Speaker 7 (38:57):
Look at this, seven guys first off, seven guys on
the line of scrimmage. This is just like hey, saying,
we know you're probably a little stress. We're gonna double down.
But watch Kyle Hamilton and this spin hypes me up.
He's always gotta be a Notre Dame guy who surprises you.
Speaker 8 (39:13):
You think he's gonna be a smart, you know, tim
a guy.
Speaker 7 (39:16):
No, I'm gonna spin, I'm gonna embarrass you. I'm gonna
do everything I can do to get to the quarterback.
And then what am I gonna do. I'm gonna have
the best celebration, mind you, of the year, the best
celebration that we've seen.
Speaker 2 (39:27):
He threw up the watch. Nothing but excitement.
Speaker 7 (39:30):
This is what I expect from a Notre Dame guy
who's trying to be a.
Speaker 2 (39:33):
Non Notre Dame guy.
Speaker 7 (39:34):
Have a little bit of juice, get everybody excited.
Speaker 8 (39:37):
Shout out to Kyle Hamilton, what a beast.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
Listen, Not all the Notre Dame guys are all calm
and reserve. I mean, I grew up on Ricky Waters
and Jerome Mennez.
Speaker 2 (39:47):
Like some of you guys go nuts, right, some of
us some of us, Yeah, all right, you guys are
perfect gentlemen, how nice of you know that? And he does.
Speaker 1 (39:54):
He does look pretty good. And by the way, this
is we're talking Shador. Yes, mantais smiling. We're not gonna
talk all do a whole segment on Shador Sanders today
because he's on a bad team. Didn't play well. We'll
talk about but that's the only way handed up in
this portion of the program. Also another team that lost yesterday.
Do you understand Jackson Smith and Jigba is leading the
NFL and receiving in the next the second number two guy,
he has more than three hundred yards behind him, more
(40:16):
than three hundred And that's because JSN does things like this.
Speaker 2 (40:20):
And he said, Jimmy, and here's the key in this.
Speaker 1 (40:23):
A lot of guys make one headed catches in this
day and age.
Speaker 2 (40:25):
You got to do more than that. You got to
pretend like it's no big deal.
Speaker 1 (40:29):
Your body language cannot react like it's anything special.
Speaker 2 (40:32):
And that's what I like him this.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
Anybody can do the catch well by anybody aiming like.
Speaker 2 (40:36):
Three people on the planet. But I love that he's like, yeah, whatever,
it's not a huge deal. I'm just JSN. I'm a
household name. Now I'm a superstar.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
I'm awesome, learn about me and I'm just gonna do
this and just run like it's in warm ups, right, guys.
Speaker 4 (40:48):
Yeah, he just does it like he'd done it before.
And to your point, Isaac, in that front, that's it's

Speaker 2 (40:53):
The Ravens do it all the time.
Speaker 4 (40:55):
It's meant to it's meant to confuse the quarterback, and
they confuse them a lot.
Speaker 3 (40:59):
He was very confused.
Speaker 11 (41:00):
Very good.
Speaker 2 (41:00):
I mean that's what they do. That's just what do it.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
Just like JSN doesn't one to catch all the time, KB.
Speaker 2 (41:07):
That's how they do it.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
What we do in X We're going to talk about
bills and Bucks, which was a lot of scoring.
Speaker 2 (41:13):
It'll make up for the Sunday Night or which was not.
But all the games coming right after this, Good Morning Football.
Stay right here.
Speaker 10 (41:17):
I
