Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Hey everybody, it's Good Morning Football, present of my Old
Trapper Beef Jerky. Tuesday, November eleventh. I'm Jamie Arnl here
in Los Angeles as always, joined by Man Titeo to
my left, and I say, stand back at the table
as well. Kyle Brant out there in New York fawing out.
I believe Kyle Brant, you just did angry runs down
on the Angry Terraces and the score bug it delivered
(00:31):
thirty seven degrees.
Speaker 3 (00:32):
And that's not just the wind show, my friend.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Heah, you know what, it's not so bad mother Nature.
That is that really the best you got?
Speaker 3 (00:39):
I don't hear no, Belle. I'm going to keep fighting
this all season. We'll be doing this two months from now.
I love it. I'm into it.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
We're going to talk about a very very entertaining ten
to seven football game last night, and also who do
you trust right now?
Speaker 3 (00:52):
NFC playoffs. We're going to get into a Good Morning Football.
Let's go.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Welcome to Good Morning Football presented by Old Trapper.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
That's right, GMFB.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
On a Tuesday, everybody business to tend to this hour.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
We had Anger Runs last hour.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Jamie, Mantai, Kyle and Isaiah and uh, Kyle, am I
correct in the fact that you are also going to
be plugging in your landline phone later and taking on calls.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
Is that okay?
Speaker 2 (01:32):
You actually decided to be on Tuesday?
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Guys?
Speaker 1 (01:35):
After I do the Angry Runs, I'm kind of like,
can I have a cigarette or something?
Speaker 4 (01:41):
Just ship No, gotta go right to the phones. Yes,
people call us up. We're going to be doing the
live call in segment. We're going to be doing it
about why you think your team could win the division
this year.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
There's a lot of teams.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
That are having it either in their grasp or maybe
they could come running. It's part of what we're going
to talk about this segment, Jamie. But I think, first,
why don't we get to last night?
Speaker 3 (02:01):
Should we do that? Guy? Do have to take our medicine? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Kyle, it's because you said that you have a theme
for GMF Radio. What would be the theme from Monday
Night Football?
Speaker 3 (02:10):
Well, it depends.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
If you're a nice person, then you say good defense.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
If you're not, you say the offense is both sucked.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
Sirianni and big Don victorious ten to seven. Neither you
nor me will ever remember this football game ever.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
I already forgot it.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
I did the highlight ten seconds ago, ten to seven. Afterwards, though,
Packers pass rusher Michael Parson says, all right, alright, everything's
not so bad.
Speaker 5 (02:37):
I mean to the fans, I mean we should have hope.
I mean, like it'll be different. We're getting blown out
in fashions of like this is like in despair, like
we can't win these type of games.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
Like we're very capable.
Speaker 5 (02:51):
Win of these games. We're just not playing to the
level of the standard that we set for each other.
And we're beating ourselves in fundamentals and technique. And once
we do that, we're gonna be a really good team.
But for right now, we just got get back to
the basics and.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
Do we have to do. But I mean, I wouldn't panic.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
I don't like we're gonna win a lot for it.
Like the way we just play, we're gonna win a
lot of football games.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
I feel like I want to trust Michael Parks's when
he tells us that because of everything that he went
through in Dallas when he was there. So now listen
the AFC is fun and it's like a tasty lollipop
dessert that you get at the end of a great meal.
Put you aside, AFC, we already like you.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
NFC, we are confused.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
We had a question that was popped up last hour
as we looked at the playoff picture. Kyle said, pick
one of these seams. Who do you inherently trust? We
do a game on this on this show called the
trust Scales. It's not about the scales right now, it's
just pick them, all right. It's like a it's like
an odd bouquet of flowers, like do you love me?
Speaker 3 (03:50):
Do you love you?
Speaker 6 (03:51):
Not?
Speaker 3 (03:51):
Who do you love? In the NFC?
Speaker 2 (03:53):
Manti, look at that playoff picture, any part of the
screen and just make your case for a team.
Speaker 7 (03:58):
Well, I love the La Brams. I do I love
Sean McVay. I love what he's been able to do.
Matt Stafford. He's playing his best ball, Guys.
Speaker 3 (04:06):
I don't know how old he is.
Speaker 7 (04:08):
But he's playing the best brand of football he's played
his entire career, and he's had a long, very well
accomplished career. And that guy that just caught the ball,
he's also having a great year.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Not to mention Poka Nakool.
Speaker 7 (04:19):
So when you had all of these dynamics and it
was so funny and Kyle's anger runs segment, Brian Robinson
Junior on that touchdown, do you know that's the first
rushing touchdown that the La Rams defense hasn't get had
to a running back that they've given up all year long.
That's how dominant that defense is. So there's a lot
of talk about the offensive side and Sean McMahon all
(04:39):
of that, that defense is just as good. So I
love the La Rams amongst a few others on that list.
Speaker 8 (04:46):
I respect the crap out of the La Rams. I'm
going to stay in that division. I'm gonna go with
my hometown Seattle. The Seattle Seahawks and me are the
team that I trust the most simply because of the
fact they have a top five defense and they have
a top five scoring offense. These guys are in the
conversation of the best in the league on both sides
of the ball.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Their special teams is taking care of business as well.
Speaker 8 (05:08):
But you talk about a team that's consistently getting better.
Sam Donald, this is his first year in this system,
and he's just getting better. They just got Rashisha heat.
He hasn't even gotten going yet. They're just going to
get better. These guys are going defensively. Their front seven
is nasty, and I think that they are only team
in that division and really in this entire conference that
can match up for you, man to man. These guys
(05:30):
are gonna let their front seven do what they do
and they can match up regardless of how many receivers
that you have, and feel comfortable and confident that they
can go ahead and stay in your hip pocket the
entire game. So I like to see Ottle Seahawks for
those reasons.
Speaker 1 (05:41):
I love Seattle as a team, and I love them
in the regular season.
Speaker 3 (05:45):
I know they're going to go to the playoffs. I
still think they're going to win the West.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
I would go back to you, though, when you say trust,
it's a little bit of a trust fall where you
close your eyes and fall back and Sam Donald has
to catch you. Let's be honest, like not very experienced
in the playoffs. What we saw last year left a
lot to be desired. Even the Vikings weren't impressed with it.
Can you really say, like we're talking about trust. I
like the Seahawks, and I believe in them right now.
(06:10):
But trusting is a little different. Trust is like we've
been there. I can count on you, like we trust Stafford.
Do you trust Donald yet? I trust Donald.
Speaker 8 (06:19):
I trust Donald because I feel as if he has
a chip on his shoulder.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
But also I.
Speaker 8 (06:23):
Don't believe that Sam Donald has had this much support
in his career, even though he took care of business
last year with the Vikings. Those guys had a really
good defense, and they had justin Jefferson. They had a
handful of guys that can make plays. I don't think
that he had as many guys surrounding him. I don't
think he had this supporting cast in the running game.
I don't think he had receivers on both side. I
don't think he had a tight end that can run
down of the middle. I don't think he had this defense.
(06:45):
So from that regard, I trust Sam Donald because he's
not as much on his shoulders.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
I hear that's a good answer. I listen. We all
trust the Rams.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
Rams are their first or second best team in the NFL,
the coach, the quarterback, all that. I trust the Lions.
I think they've got experience. I think they got the
quarterback I mentioned Seattle just now. I'm having a hard
time trusting Philly. Honestly, I know that the world champs,
but I just when the playoffs start, I'm not quite
sure where their touchdowns are coming from. I don't know,
and I don't think they're coming from Saquon. So on them,
(07:17):
I'm not out on them, and the jury's still out
on them. The Packers are an interesting one to me
because I'm having a hard time with Jordan Love right now.
I like Jordan Love as a player, as a figure,
as a guy.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
He's kind of in this wheel heear won't he thing?
Speaker 1 (07:29):
Is Jordan Love a really good quarterback? Or is he
a pretty good quarterback? Is he a top eight guy
or is he a top fifteen guy? I don't know
week to week. And the thing is, this is not
a young player. This guy's been around like he's played
a lot of football. He's watched a lot of football.
You see him against Pittsburgh, he's excellent that He's not
good against Cleveland, He's not good against Carolina last night,
he was not good. The defense holds the Philadelphia Eagles
(07:53):
to ten points. That has to be a win every
single time, not nine times out. Of ten, ten times
out of ten, you are home. The defense holds the
world champions at ten points, you win that game. You
have to win that game. And also, like the Packers
have the thing where they start really slow.
Speaker 3 (08:09):
Have you seen this? I saw Matchknive in The Athletic
pointed this out.
Speaker 1 (08:12):
The Packers first half point totals over the last month
first half zero six seven six, Like they're just they're sleepy,
They're lethargic. And I don't love the chemistry right now
between the Floor and Love. Michael Parsons tells everybody calm down,
com nown, It's going to be all right, and I
respect that. I think that's him trying to be a leader.
I just don't know at this stage how good Jordan
(08:35):
Love is. I know he's good, but is he one
of those guys is like, you know what, I just
beat the Rams in the playoffs. I just beat the
Lions in the playoffs. I just beat the Lions in
the regular season. I'm not sure on him. I think
a lot is going to be determined by Jordan Love.
And he's still a will here, won't he type quarterback?
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Right now?
Speaker 7 (08:52):
I echo everything you just said about Jordan Love. KB
but this it also leads me into why I also
trust Sam Darnold. So Jordan Love is a quarterback that
I see as he has exceptional arm talent. And sometimes
when you have exceptional arm talent, you want to use
that talent, right like when you're able to throw and
spin the pigskin the way that he is. He wants
to show that off sometimes, and I think it gets
(09:13):
him into a lot of trouble in the games. Whereas
somebody likes Sam Donald. He has good arm talent, but
Sam Donald isn't afraid to get the easy plays. Like
Sam Donald isn't a stat chaser. Sam Donald don't care.
Sam Donald will get the ball where it's supposed to
get to and include and Clint Kubiak system. Sometimes it's
just throwing a little checkdown. And I think that's what
(09:34):
Jordan Love struggles with sometimes is he wants to make
the highlight play. Whereas Sam Donald, he's okay with making
that right there, a little eight yard drag. He's okay
with making certain things happen where it may not cut
on a stat sheet. It may not be on the
highlights highlight shot sheet, but what is going to.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Be on the sheet is a win.
Speaker 7 (09:51):
So that's why I do trust Sam Donald over somebody
like Jordan Love.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Because he's not going to do the things. He's going
to do the things necessary to win in pursuit of wins.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
In the NFC West, the Rams and Seahawks are fighting
for it. That was who do you trust in the NFC?
Looking at the playoff picture? Kyle brought him up to
Phildelphia Eagles. The question becomes what are they offensively and
do you trust them down the stretch? Mike Garrifolo joining
us now after I'm Monday in a football game between
the Eagles and the Packers. Mike, Gee, we saw a
bit of a scare with offensive tackle Lane Johnson. What's
(10:20):
the update this morning after he was carter into.
Speaker 3 (10:22):
The locker room.
Speaker 9 (10:23):
I'm smiling because it's a bit of a scare and
probably something that would knock out a bunch of other
people out of games. But now been around Lane Johnson
for a while, he goes down with something that has
him on a cart and hobbling. We have one of
our producers, multiple producers who are Eagles fans.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
One of them just telling me.
Speaker 9 (10:38):
How did he return to that game? Put him on
the plane. Send them home. I don't want them anywhere
near the field. I'm getting a text midway through the
game for somebody said, yeah, he just got.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
Rolled up on.
Speaker 9 (10:47):
He's fine now. Fine for Lane Johnson is one thing.
Fine for everybody else is a different thing. He returned
to the game. We'll see how it goes this week.
If he did power through, I wouldn't be surprised, because
again I've been around Lane Johnson for a while, So
we shall see about that. Meanwhile, Joe Burrow working his
way back from a significant injury turf toe that required surgery.
Back on the practice field in a limited capacity.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
Great sign for the Bengals.
Speaker 9 (11:10):
Will it be enough to get them into the postseason,
I don't know. We have to see what Joe Flacco
can do until Burrow returns to the playing field, which
could be still a couple of weeks away. They've got
a twenty one day window to practice him before they
have to add him to the active roster.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
Zach Taylor saying, I'm.
Speaker 9 (11:25):
Not going to say whether he's going to play within
that timeframe.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Don't know yet.
Speaker 9 (11:28):
Definitely not going to play this week, but inching his
way back.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Meanwhile, back to.
Speaker 9 (11:33):
The NFC East, dan Quinn and the commanders headed to Spain,
where dan Quinn will call the defense the head coach,
taking over the defensive coordinator play calling role from Joe Witt,
who will still be involved. But Quinn saying, we've got
the twenty ninth ranked defense when it comes to points,
thirtieth in yards, and we're three and seven right now.
We've got to be better than this. So dan Quinn
(11:53):
taking over the play calling dude, duties. What that means
for the long term, no idea. Just know it was
made with the short term interests of the team in mind.
As they get set to take on the Dolphins in Madride.
Speaker 3 (12:04):
Yeah, we're back on GMFB.
Speaker 2 (12:09):
It's Veterans Day and the NFL continues to honor those
who serve through Salute to Service. Players and coaches across
the league continue to subpart our military, including Jaguars linebacker
Devin Lloyd, who's a nominee for this year's Salute to
Service Award. This is something dear to him, growing up
in a military family.
Speaker 10 (12:28):
Nitary shaped who both my parents are. Ultimately that trickled
down and made meaning to who I am. Devin has
done so much n brief life.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
He's got so much more to do and so much
more to give.
Speaker 10 (12:44):
I'm learning so much more about the military and all
that they do for our country, going to different bases,
understanding their lives and what they go through. Is very
grateful to grow up in a military family, and memory
tell me that he's always going to be a part
of military family, and now he's a part NFL family.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
I care about what they do.
Speaker 10 (13:04):
CON genuinely appreciate the people who go out and sacrifice
meeting with their families and sacrifice in many ways, their bodies,
their lives for the protection of others. I genuinely appreciate
the hard work and the dedication that people give to
help people like me feel safe in this world.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
And we got them the JAG Salutes the Service Award
nominee everybody. Devin Lloyd, Welcome inside.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
Devin.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
That's a forty years clocket combined service between your two parents.
First of all, shout out to them long out of
applause to your parents, My God, that's an incredible, incredible
thing to learn about them. They must have taught you
so much in your upbringing and your childhood. What is
one lesson from them that you carry with you, whether
it be discipline, structure, anything that you apply to your
(14:05):
everyday life.
Speaker 10 (14:06):
Yeah, I would say I'm hard wired to be disciplined. Uh,
you know, the little things like always keeping my bathroom
clean or waking up on a Saturday to mow the lawn.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
You know, I'm kind of.
Speaker 10 (14:17):
Hardwired now to do hard things and to be disciplined
to do things right when nobody's watching. So those are
some of the biggest lessons I got from from them.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Hardwired to do hard things. That is a lost start,
but that is poetry, man. I love to hear that.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
You know.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
In the Peace Devin, you talked about visiting military bases
and over the summer you and your dad went on
a retreat hosted by the Wounded Warriors Project.
Speaker 3 (14:40):
What was that? What was that experience? Like? Take us in.
Speaker 10 (14:43):
Yeah, that was a great experience, you know, really getting
a chance to get around wounded warriors and come a
little bit closer to them, and obviously going on military
bases out here in Jacksonville. Really just wanting to get
an understanding of how people who serve our country are
on a day to day basis, the type of people
they are wanting to interact with them and wanting to
(15:06):
draw closer to understanding that you know, we're all similar,
you know, we all different, have different occupations, but ultimately
we're all human and we all need people to be
there for us. But just wanting to you know, have
those interactions and get a little bit closer to to
our veterans.
Speaker 8 (15:24):
Absolutely, de man, the holiday season is coming up, actually
is upon us now. One of the hardest things for
kids in military families is being when the families are
being deployed or when their parents are being deployed.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
You live through that.
Speaker 8 (15:36):
What advice do you have for families that are going
through that right now?
Speaker 10 (15:39):
Yeah, you know, I would say in those instances, you
definitely have to draw closer to the family that you
do have. For me, it was a little bit more
challenging because you know, at the time, it was just
me and my dad, and so when he was gone,
it was really just me. But I did have people
around me, neighbors, family friends who are also a veterans,
who you know, looked after me. The biggest thing for
(16:01):
me was sports, you know, football. I found a brotherhood
and family in sports, and that's what really drew me
to the game. And so I would say, just just
get around the people that you know you have around.
Speaker 3 (16:17):
You that.
Speaker 10 (16:19):
I really just just who love you And yeah, I
mean football or for me, that was it.
Speaker 3 (16:25):
Devin.
Speaker 7 (16:25):
The way that you're playing, You're going to have a
lot of awards that you're going to qualify for at
the end of this year. But fans can vote for
the Salute to Service Award this year. What would that
mean to you? For from someone that's come from a
military family, what would that bringing that home?
Speaker 3 (16:39):
Will bringing that award home mean to you?
Speaker 10 (16:42):
Yeah, that would be really special. Obviously for my parents
and for all the people in my family who are
part of the military would be special. And for me,
I feel like I would just be accepting it on
behalf of all the people who serve, you know, just
my appreciation for everything that they do. You know, I
feel like I would be accepting it on behalf of them.
(17:02):
But it would definitely be a special honor and you know,
something that would be very grateful for Devin.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
We like to modify our AFC playoff standings. Lots of
shows do in the hunt teams, the teams that are
you know in that five, six, seven, eight, ninth, we
go hunting. This team is hunting. They are lurking constantly.
All right, you are the seventh seed in the AFC.
After that tough loss against the Texans last weekend, what
(17:29):
did this team learn? How do you use fuel from
that Texans game to turn things around for the second
half of the season.
Speaker 10 (17:35):
Yeah, absolutely, going to use it as fuel, just understanding
that we had control the game, but we have to
close those games out. We have to find a way
to finish, especially in the fourth quarter. Those those games
and just those opportunities, letting those slip, those can't happen
if you want to be a playoff caliber team. You know,
looking at it from the defensive perspective, all we needed
was one stop. So that's going to be our emphasis
(17:58):
heading into this week is closing games out. But just
finding a way to do right, do your job and
execute for four qui or from start to finish is
really what it comes down to.
Speaker 1 (18:06):
What does coach Cohen say to you after after a
loss like that?
Speaker 3 (18:10):
What's his message?
Speaker 10 (18:11):
Yeah, we got to finish, you know, he said exactly
pretty much similar to what I said. You know, controlling
the game three quarters, in that final quarter, you know,
we we can't find a way to get off the field.
And obviously offensively, we we want to extend drive. So
just finding a way to finish the game. You know, ultimately, uh,
(18:32):
you know, the best teams in the league finish games,
and so we have to be able to do that.
Speaker 3 (18:37):
Devin.
Speaker 7 (18:37):
In week five, you took a Patrick Mahomes past nine
ninety nine.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Yards to the house.
Speaker 7 (18:41):
Take us through that play and when did it set
in your mind that you could get a pick six
against you know, one of the greatest ever do it?
Speaker 10 (18:48):
Yeah, it was a zero blitch and uh, you know, guys,
you know there's a read where we pop out, and
so ultimately we had to show that on film, and
so that's why, you know, I think that player was
really successful. It was a timely call and I was
able to capitalize on the opportunity. I mean, yeah, those
are the places that you dream of and you have
(19:09):
to execute and you have to capitalize on them. And
like I said, it was a time they call. It
was executed well across the board and we were able
to We were able to make that play.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
Devin, it's been awesome having you on. But listen, you
said you like to live life by accomplishing the hard things.
You keep everything neat and tidy. You live your life on.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
The up and up.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
What is one thing that gets under Devin Lloyd's skin?
Come on, man, show us, show us the little juice.
What gets you going?
Speaker 3 (19:35):
What makes you mad?
Speaker 6 (19:38):
Man?
Speaker 10 (19:38):
I mean, for the most part, even killed, just just
steady because of my faith.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
I say.
Speaker 10 (19:44):
The thing that gets me routed up is anything in
regarding to a competition. I hate to lose, and so
I get pretty competitive. You guys don't really see this much,
but like I mean, even little things like you know,
playing corehole in the locker room, just anything competing. Uh,
that's when you know that edge will come out.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
So there will be a beanbag size hole in the
side of his locker. Things don't go well. Devinloyd, everybody,
thank you so much for coming on GMFB. We send
our deepest thanks to your parents and all the service
members out there and everything you do to bring light
to the Salutes of Service Award. Congratulations on the nomination.
Go to NFL dot com for more information. Devinloyd, everybody, Woo,
(20:27):
that's cool.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
Bro, GMFB radio.
Speaker 1 (20:32):
And you can't do radio in New York City without
taking live callers.
Speaker 3 (20:36):
We've done it for a few weeks.
Speaker 1 (20:37):
It's live, real callers, not plants, not employees, just people that.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
I've never met before.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
I will take them live on the air and they
have thirty seconds to make their point, and then I
disconnect them. We had somebody called last week and maybe
didn't go terribly well, and then afterwards they tweeted this
about their experience on GMFB radio. I feel like I've
ruined the GMFP Kyle call segment.
Speaker 3 (20:57):
What I had thought about.
Speaker 1 (20:58):
For the hour I was on hold, and what I
put out there was like when a boy goes and
talks to the girl he really likes and then just
spews out hot garbage.
Speaker 3 (21:05):
I feel you, it's not easy.
Speaker 1 (21:07):
I'm going to go to someone right now who appears
to be fired up. But let's see if they can
deliver on the air, thirty seconds on the clock. Let's
go to Melody, Melody in Michigan. You were on the air.
Speaker 11 (21:19):
Go yeah, Kyle, GMFB. Listen. Thetroit Lyons may have stumbled
in week one, but week one is a lie. As
you said, we bounced back against the commanders. Jared Goff
is slinging it like a man possessed. The defense is
hitting hard, and Dan Campbell he's calling plays like a
caffeinated genius. If this team keeps playing like this, we're
(21:41):
not just contenders. We're a super Bowl caliber team. And
yet on your show, not one highlight of Detroit. Come on, Kyle,
We're here to slay and we deserve the love. Lion
fans know it, the league should know. Super Bowl dream.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Udy, righty quick, You're great. You're great. I love you.
I love you, Melody.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
You just totally handled your business in a very charming,
very straightforward way.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
GMFP. We talk about the Lions a whole. That's time.
I feel like there's nothing wrong with the Lions. Week
one was two years ago. The Lions are going to
be in the playoffs. They're gonna be absolutely fine. I
like the Campbell's taking over the play calling.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
I like this this professorial of Besteco Dan Campbell. It's cool, Melody,
you just set the tone for the segment. You are
a clubhouse leader for the best call, but for this one. Next,
oh man, somebody dropped off. I think someone heard you,
Melody and said, I'm.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Out of here.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Here's we're gonna go. We're gonna go to the Great
State of Florida. Imagine me and a Jaguars fan this week.
They've had a tough week. Chris in Florida, you have
thirty seconds. Give me a better call than Melody in
Michigan if you can.
Speaker 12 (22:40):
Go, Jeb war We're going to Bowl a nineteen point
lead with twelve minutes left in the game to a
divisional rival, and to date, Phil who I don't look
up to see who was Trevor Lawrence is one of
the highest state quarterbacks to meet it well, and you
can't finish the game. Fireworks, absolutely saty games and then
it's been garbage football And where's btj Do we need
(23:03):
to get back to jone fact, considering that's the only
quarterback he had, it's been good and he's riding the
bench most of the time when somebody's hurt. We are
in a playoff team.
Speaker 13 (23:11):
We came in the season with so much hope.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
All right, Chris, listen, their thirty seconds are up, but
you use them very very well. That is the appropriate
type of insane questions that you have to ask after
a loss, like you guys just had that question being
would we have been better with Mac Jones? Did you
even remember I'm talking to you the viewer that Mac
Jones was on the Jaguars.
Speaker 3 (23:32):
It was not spoken of.
Speaker 1 (23:34):
And the Trevor Lawrence conversation gets bigger and bigger. The
apologists say, well, they keep changing his coaches and his
coordinators and they're not using him right. The other people say, hello,
he's supposed to be the greatest quarterback of all time
and you can't count on him really for anything. The
Jaguars having this feel good season and that primetime win
against the Chiefs was great.
Speaker 3 (23:52):
That was a horrible loss last week. Now I sound
like one of the callers. Next, let's go to.
Speaker 1 (23:59):
Let's go to my native state, the land of Lincoln, Illinois,
a guy named Larry.
Speaker 3 (24:05):
Larry.
Speaker 1 (24:05):
I'm gonna give you extra time, Larry, and Illinois. Where
are you calling from in Illinois?
Speaker 14 (24:11):
I'm in mckensney Park. It's just up by Rockford. Rock
and roll, Rockford at home of Chief Tricks.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
I know rock and Roll, Rockford, I know Chief Trick.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
Larry. I like the cut of your Jim.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Tell me how you're feeling about the Bears right now?
Speaker 14 (24:26):
Rock and roll, Larry, go for it, Go Bears, Go Bears,
Go Rocket man good better best. The Bear's offensive line
is amazing. The Bear's defense Bill needs to be careful
because they could get arrested for grand step football.
Speaker 12 (24:45):
I've got an idea for a new came.
Speaker 14 (24:47):
Anytime during the Bears game someone says throw the ball, paylub,
everyone has to take a drink.
Speaker 12 (24:56):
Go Army, beat Navy.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
On the way out of the door, go Army, and
sure go for it.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Wow, that was a lot that he had a drinking
game that everybody every time somebody says throw the ball, Caleb.
Where Larry's going to with that is Caleb does a
lot of scrambling and a lot of sandlots still and
you get mad at it. Like earlier in the season
he was doing against Minnesota and a loss. But then
when he was running away from every Giant's pass rusher
this week, it's really magical to watch. If you were
to play that drinking game about throw the ball, Caleb,
(25:26):
you'd be annihilated.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
You need your stomach pump. Larry, you do rock? I
like you? Is it better than Melody? I'm not sure,
but let's go to how about this?
Speaker 1 (25:35):
Oh my god, This says Sweden on the call sheet
line three Sweden, it says Sweden, Yes the country, Rick, Rick,
are you American?
Speaker 3 (25:44):
Are you sweetish? What are we talking about here? And
are you in on the Chiefs?
Speaker 12 (25:49):
I'm an ex pat.
Speaker 6 (25:50):
I live in Sweden and it breaks my heart to
say it. But the Chiefs are not making the playoffs
this year? Why not gonna happen? They're losing two of
the next three games, Uh, Broncos, probably Colts, probably maybe
the Cowboys. That gives them at least six losses. I
(26:13):
think they're gonna wind up for seven losses for the year.
Seven losses doesn't make the playoffs this year, and they
should have never ever lost to the Jaguars that killed him.
Speaker 1 (26:26):
And I love you, I love you, Rick, I love
that you're calling from abroad.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
Rick. Do you think they're gonna lose the Cowboys the Chiefs?
You think that? I mean the Colts and Broncos? I
can see it.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
Maybe here's where I come out. The Chiefs are five
and four. That is a bad record, and for a
team that was of their stature. I think if they
go five and three they have a pretty good shot.
I think ten and seven could get in. Maybe they
have to go six and two. I think they're definitely
making the playoffs. And you know what, Rick, I want
the Chiefs in the playoffs. I don't want an AFC
playoffs slate without those guys.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
They belong in the playoffs. But it's fascinating to me.
Speaker 1 (27:03):
I wonder if you speak for people here on the
conventional United States, not people who travel from here that
think the Chiefs are gonna miss them. I mean, I
look at the schedule. I see Broncos twice, I see Houston.
I don't know, are you afraid of those teams that much?
Come on, baby, I still think that she should be
in the playoffs and I want them to be. We
have time for another call. Who should I go with? Now,
(27:23):
let's go with I gotta get an Eagles fan in here.
Line seven Brian in Virginia talk about the Birds, who
are coming off a ten to seven win in lambeau Field.
Speaker 3 (27:35):
I'm sure you gotta be happy this morning, right, Brian.
Speaker 15 (27:38):
I'm actually feeling good. Giants just fired gut coach, Commanders,
don't have a healthy quarterback, and Jerry Jones is more
worried about Netflix documentaries than winning football. So I feel
good about the division. And even though Siriani at the
end of the game, totally mess that up.
Speaker 13 (27:54):
I feel good.
Speaker 15 (27:55):
A lot of teams would love to be defending Super
Bowl champs and no major grievances on my end, A
little Eagle's optimism this morning, I.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
In one word to describe the Eagles offense right now,
one word, give me one.
Speaker 15 (28:08):
Whatever it takes, I'll give you three words. They win
in every different way anyway you want them to win.
Speaker 3 (28:14):
Ready to go, Brian.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
I could hear the hamster wheel in Brian's head turning
through the phone.
Speaker 3 (28:19):
I put him on the spot. He broke the rules.
Sometimes we do that on.
Speaker 1 (28:22):
Good Morning Football. Whatever it takes. Do I have time
for one more? Should I go back to my friends
in Englewood. Let's end on this one. Let's go to
my man Joshua, also in Virginia. He has thoughts on
the Niners and maybe something else he'd like to say
about some family.
Speaker 3 (28:37):
Joshua in Virginia.
Speaker 1 (28:38):
You are on the air GMFB radio, Flori is yours
thirty seconds.
Speaker 13 (28:42):
Thank you, Kyle. I'd like to send a shout out
to my son Jack Keynes, US Navy, lives under destroyership,
shoots the fifty cal for fun. He's Intelligence communications to
certified fat ass. He just finished a seven month deployment cow.
So we're niners fans. I say, move CMC to receiver,
be rot to running back. One get Mike McDaniel after
(29:04):
the of Since the weekend, everyone's tells me for the
wild Call playoffs.
Speaker 3 (29:08):
Boom, Joshua, tell us your son's.
Speaker 13 (29:11):
Name, Jackson Keys, Cornado, California.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Jackson Keys, Cornado, California. Love you, respect you. He's his
father just said he shoots a fifty count for fun.
That is pretty awesome and I'm glad that he is
out there protecting us and serving and everything. That is
really really really cool. And Happy Veterans Day to everyone
who is watching. On that note, I think we're going
back to Englewood. I haven't heard anything from our producer,
so I'm just gonna go.
Speaker 3 (29:34):
Guys. A lot of calls there.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Including Joshua from Virginia talking about his son, starting with
Melody in Michigan, What did you guys think of Today'
JIMF Callers and Jimife Radio is pretty good.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
I thought it was pretty good.
Speaker 8 (29:46):
I like Melody from Michigan, but I have to go with.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
My guy, Larry the cable Guy.
Speaker 8 (29:49):
I'm gonna go with when he's at Grand Theft Football
and he came out there and created a drinking game,
so I gotta rock with him.
Speaker 3 (29:55):
He came with multimately, that's true. That's true.
Speaker 7 (29:57):
I think the greatest win over this whole thing is
our show, because I.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
Think that was the best best Jimffe radio we've had
all year.
Speaker 7 (30:03):
And there are six call I think we entered the
phone more times with more callers.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
But I gotta go with Melody.
Speaker 7 (30:08):
I think she set the tone for how this day went,
and everybody followed suit. So I got Melody Michigan Detroit Line.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
Melody had the winner for me until Joshua from Virginia
called Coronado not too far from here. So shout out
to his son Joshua and everything he does for our country,
especially on Bedursday. We appreciate you.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
Gosh.
Speaker 2 (30:27):
It was a hard pick though, but I am going
to go with Joshua. I actually can't even remember what
team chered for. I just like the shout out to the.
Speaker 3 (30:33):
Niners fan Minners fan wants. He also had a radical idea.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
He wants to put CMC at wide receiver and have
Brian Robinson be the running back. So Joshua had takes,
he had energy, he had patriotism, and we love all
of that. Joshua in Virginia. Niner's coming off a tough
game against the Rams. But you got the dub today,
my friend? Who gets it next week? Start calling now.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
It is GMFB radio live. Callers on the NFL network
can't feed it.
