Speaker 1 (00:04):
Good Morning Football is the production of the NFL in
partnership with iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Good Morning Football.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
Yeah, this is Good Morning Football.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
We are presented by old trapper Beef Jerkey every day
live here in Los Angeles and New York City, which
means we got the lead covered coast to coast. This
is awkward about BMLLA, Peter Scheger, Kyle Brandt in New York.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
I'm Jamie urt all Man.

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Is there anyone luckier after yesterday's headline?

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Phil Day?

Speaker 5 (00:46):
Then Jerry Jones, Oh, Jerry Jones had a day yesterday.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
He was telling people off.

Speaker 5 (00:53):
I just thought that was kind of gangster though, just
to be able to tell somebody, you know from another job,
like yo, you know what, I can replace you?

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Wow?

Speaker 5 (01:00):
Okay, all right, just tell us how you really feel
it is that and we would.

Speaker 6 (01:04):
Have you can probably replace us.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Careful talking about it the sun over here.

Speaker 4 (01:10):
But Davante Adams, Amari Cooper, Kimmikers, they all saved us
yesterday because we had to keep talking about other things
like trades.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Was very busy, and that's why we need.

Speaker 4 (01:20):
Gentlemen like Tom Pelisero on our show, our Nicle Network
insider Pelisara, what's happening Davante Adams. The news broke yesterday
morning in the midst of GMFB overtime.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Just take us through the events of yesterday, please, Jamie.

Speaker 7 (01:34):
To be clear, the trade deadline is still twenty days away,
but it sure felt like it was happening yesterday. It
started out with the Jets finalizing a trade that had
been weeks in the making and been speculated on for
more than a year. Davante Adams officially is a New
York Jet, passed his physical to complete the trade. The Jets,
sending a traditional third round pick in the twenty twenty

(01:57):
five draft to Las Vegas potentially could become a second
round pick, though that would require Adams to be named
an All Pro or active for an AFC Championship game for.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
A Super Bowl.

Speaker 7 (02:07):
Part of the reason that the Jets were able to
get this done, besides the fact that the Raiders got
what they wanted, which was at least a chance for
a second round pick, is they also took on Adam's
entire contract. The Jets will pay him eleven point six
million dollars for the balance of the twenty twenty four season,
and they are hoping that is an investment that pays off.

(02:28):
Woody Johnson talked about it at the league meeting down
in Atlanta, said that Adams will open up the running game,
the passing game, basically everything. Aaron Rodgers certainly has been frustrated.
Other people within the organization, including Wody Johnson, have been frustrated.
It costs Robert Sola his job recently. Here we shall
now see how quickly they are able to get back

(02:48):
that chemistry that they built all those years in Green Bay.
Adams has had a legitimate hamstring injury that has sidelined
him the past two weeks, but it certainly sounds like
he is close and intends to make his Jets debut
Sunday night against the Steelers. Mere out hours later, the
Buffalo Bills also pulled off a big time wide receiver trade,

(03:09):
bringing in a Marii Cooper for the Cleveland Browns. The
Bills sending a third round pick in the twenty twenty
five draft of the teams will also flop late round
picks as part of the trade.

Speaker 2 (03:20):
And here's the interesting thing about this deal.

Speaker 7 (03:22):
The Bills, much like the Steelers and the Saints and
obviously the Jets, were in on DeVante Adams, but the
Bills did not have a lot of salary cap flexibility
to get that deal done. The Raiders were not willing
to eat any portion of Davante Adams contract. But with
the Mary Cooper, the Browns actually had converted almost his
entire salary this season into a signing bonus for salary

(03:44):
cap purposes back in March. So instead of paying eleven
point six million dollars for Devonte Adams, they get Amari
Cooper for the rest of the season for about eight
hundred grand. They are hoping that Amari Cooper will be
a missing piece that's been important. They've been in on
basically every top caliber receiver that's become available through the
course of this offseason.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
That got Kalil s gear back in action.

Speaker 7 (04:05):
Dalton Kincaid is another player that want to get the
ball to first round and picked Keon Coleman as well.
But Amari Cooper, with his long history and his experience,
they are hopeful is going to fit in seamlessly and
quickly in Buffalo.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
Jamie man Tom what a wild existence for Amari Cooper
at times in his career.

Speaker 3 (04:23):
A top three receiver now at the.

Speaker 4 (04:25):
Value of a base salary in the final year of
his contract. Rooms it's crazy moves from a fledgling Browns
team at the moment to a Bills team that will compete,
and Josh Allen s his quarterback. Two massive moves within
the AFC East yesterday for the rivals that played each
other on Monday night. Peter, I ask you, when you
look at both of these trades, same positions going to

(04:47):
teams that are fighting for a spot at the top
of the division in the conference, which trade do you
think will have a bigger impact within the landscape.

Speaker 8 (04:56):
I'm going to tell you now, we're starting this show
early in the morning on the East Coast. There's gonna
be a lot of sports shows. Now this is going
to be the take for everyone. You might think Adams
is the be move, but the sneaky move is that Amari.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Cooper is actually the far bigger move. I disagree.

Speaker 8 (05:09):
I think bringing Devonte Adams to the New York Jets
is a kickstart that the Jets are looking for in
a way that not only says they're doubling down on
this season, that would be firing their coach, not only
saying tripling down on the season, that would be changing
the play call, quadrupling down on this twenty twenty four season.
This is how far deep they are that they are
bringing in DeVante Adams at this stage of his career,

(05:30):
this late into the season, to say, let's salvage this
thing somehow, some way, because we still believe despite a
game with twenty penalties and two miskicks within forty yards,
we still believe we can win the AFC East. I'm
told in New York right now, Devonte Adams is not
only there, but is knee deep in the game plan
and has already begun game plan, and not only will

(05:53):
play against the Pittsburgh Steelers, will be a significant portion
of the game plan on Sunday Night, that he is
going to have a real role despite getting there this week,
I think the Rogers Adams story is the far greater impact.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Cooper is going to.

Speaker 8 (06:08):
Be an excellent addition to a Bills team that might
win the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
This is saving a season, though.

Speaker 8 (06:13):
This is looking at a GM and saying this could
save your career. This is looking at a coaching staff
and saying this could save your careers. All of these guys,
Todd Downing, Jeff Olbrick, Aaron Rodgers, Garrett Wilson, Bresee Hall.
They all can still salvage this season that seems to
be lost at two and four. And the person that

(06:35):
might matter most is Woody Johnson, who is down in
Atlanta citing Ricky Bobby doing, you know, answer the questions
about how they're gonna play this season and how they're
gonna go for it over readers, No doubt.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
That was what it was.

Speaker 8 (06:48):
First you last, he was saying all the right things
that Jets fans are kind of rolling their eyes at
this morning. But you know what, I look at the
local New York sports media. I saw Salakata, who's my guy?

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Going off?

Speaker 8 (06:59):
I saw Brandon Tierney going off, and Jerry Joe Beningo
going off. It's very easy to be done with the
Jets and saying it's no one's fault, blame the older
I get it.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
I get it a lot. But they're not quit and
they're going forward.

Speaker 8 (07:12):
And Davante Adams magically has a perfectly fine handstring and
I think he's gonna be perfect to go on Sunday
Night against the Steelers. We don't have FaceTime with DeVante,
we don't have him poking over the shoulder. We just
have the four of us who are gonna analyze it.
And I'll tell you this, I'm excited for it. Sunday night,
he'll be playing in Pittsburgh and I think the Jets

(07:32):
they are all in four times over.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
Yeah, this is so cool. I love your take on it,
I really do.

Speaker 5 (07:39):
But I don't know that I can necessarily compare it
because it's like Davante Adams Amari Cooper. Yet it's easy
to do the one on one matchup and go who's
the better wide receiver. Davante Adams is winning that all
the way through. But situationally, I look at this and
I go, well, look the Buffalo Bills. They're sitting there
at four and two there at the top of the
AFC East. This was to me the best proactive move

(08:02):
the I'm like, we want to keep this. I remember
they won, of course we all remember this, but they
won just the other day. They beat them in that
head to head matchup in the AFC East. They see,
oh the Jets out there making move. They try to
get that game up, right, Yo, they got some nice shoes,
got some nice drip. Okay, well, you know what, We're
gonna go out and get the guy who was very sneaky.

(08:24):
I think he used the word sneaky, Peter, very sneaker. Yeah,
twelve hundred yards last year, twelve hundred and fifty yards
last year. The dude is still very, very productive. And
I love the balance and that they have in the
wide receiver room. Now you have your big guy in
Kean Coleman, you have your obviously you have Shakir, then
you have you add Amari Cooper. To me, that is

(08:44):
a nice mix of wide receiver. Is a great compliment.
I think Josh Allen's just gonna have his pick of
the litter. They'll continue to be an effective group Offensively,
it's the seventh ranked offense scoring offense in the league.
I think that continues to be on the up and up.

Speaker 6 (08:58):
It's pretty easy I can bottom line this for all
of us as socially. Copeter, you might think that Davonte
is the big trade, but the sneaky one here is
Amari Cooper tweeted out, Now I actually have.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
An original thought on this. I'm like that one.

Speaker 6 (09:11):
We have two players, both in their thirties, both in
the multiple Pro Bowls, playing the same position, going to
the same division on the same day it's eerie. You
don't see that, and yet it reminds me of something
that we talk about from time to time on the show.
And I have some comps for the Davante and the
Amari trades on the same day to the same division,

(09:32):
the same positions. Bring up the first comp here it is,
this is starting to feel.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Kind of familiar. All right. On the left we have
The Truman Show. On the right, we have Peter What
that's ed TV. That's ed TV. Strikingly similar movies.

Speaker 6 (09:47):
And here's what happens ed TV on the right with Dharma,
massive movie.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Ron Howard's directing.

Speaker 6 (09:53):
McConaughey is going to be huge star, all the hype,
all the hype, the Davante in the situation, the Truman
Show was like a slow burn.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
The critics loved it and it ended up winning. Bring
up the next comp.

Speaker 6 (10:03):
Eerily similar on the same all right, On the right,
we have the Illusionists. That's a sun Dance Darling with
Ed Norton Beale is in there.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
They got Jim Maddy in the supporting role.

Speaker 6 (10:14):
But on the left, the prestige was the slow burn
and the end bail and Jackman and David Bowie Chris
Nolan came to win. Bring up the next comp. I
don't know if this one is going to be the
Davante in the mar. On the right we have Dante's
Peak with James Bond and Sarah Connor, And left we
have Volcano and Anna h was doing everything at the time.

Speaker 2 (10:33):
Now, both of these movies were craps. So hopefully this
is not the comp.

Speaker 6 (10:36):
Here's what about Chris Brosen Here's great and Sarah Connor
it's an unbelievable dude. If this is the comp, then
both Davante and a Mari are gonna fall on their
faces and the teams are gonna fall apart. But this
is the most important one. Last, I always have the
most important one. Last, here we go, here's Amri Davante.
Now it is impossible to tell these two movies apart.
One of them is Friends with Benefits, one of there

(10:58):
was no strings attached. No one actually knows which one is.
Which nobody knows? Don't tell me, you do, you don't.
On the left, it was supposed to be Kutcher and
poor Man. That's the bigger one. But I'm telling you,
if you watch them, Timberlake and Kuness's chemistry is far better.
It's higher Rotten Tomatoes, it's higher box office. I think

(11:18):
that's the sneaky Amari play on the right.

Speaker 8 (11:20):
I'm all mixed up because Kutcher is really married to Mila.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
It's all.

Speaker 6 (11:24):
It's very You want to know what one of the
reviews said of the one on the right quote, these
types of movies are just gonna keep coming out, and
there's nothing we can do about it.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
And listen, I get it. And the end, you don't know.
You guess. Here's the thing.

Speaker 6 (11:37):
They're friends, but they want to have like a sexy relationship,
but they say it's just stay friends, and in the
end they actually fall in love.

Speaker 8 (11:43):
These movies walk so that Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, Hello, they're.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Dancing at Sundance. That's right, guys.

Speaker 6 (11:50):
It's the same concept at the same time, at the
same position. And I do believe that Davante is more
famous and Rogers is more famous.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
Like the Bill's just got a very good receiver. The
Bills just won that game.

Speaker 6 (12:02):
I think the Bills have the chance to be the
Truman Show to DeVante's EDTV.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Try to do that on another show. Go ahead. I
don't have anybody in my FaceTime. I'm not creeping into
Peter's shot.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
Oh oh you gotta ready.

Speaker 2 (12:21):
Hey, that was pretty cool. I'll tell you. It's really
it's really cool. We don't have that. We don't have that.
We got that out, we got darm We'll get Greg too,
don't Greg. I don't care. We don't have that. We
had that, we don't have that.

Speaker 3 (12:36):
It's perfect. You are right that I would.

Speaker 4 (12:39):
Be a fifty to fifty shot of trying to assign
titles to those two movies that you just had. Let
me see Timberlake and Coutcher again. I just because I
want to talk through this because the one on the left,
the Sportman Combo, they try to distract you with the
side cast of Greta Gerwig and I think Mindy Kaling
is the friend and that as well. So they're like,
look at all these stars, We've just like comedy chops on.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
The couch and there's a whole scene with a menstruation.
It's a whole deal.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
But the one on the right, it's like, which one
is the saucier star? It is excellent, Kyle. Maybe maybe
they'll both be a sensation because those those movies are
pretty entertaining. But you're right, and by Canna sign and
by Cana signed titles to those, I'm still confused because
they were.

Speaker 6 (13:19):
So no one knows, not only the people in the
movie knew what they were working on.

Speaker 2 (13:25):
Listen. That's the way we break it down.

Speaker 6 (13:27):
The Davante trade is Wyner with Kevin Coster back doing
another Western, and the Amari just might be Tombstone with
Kurt Russell and ends up having the longevity. We'll find
out though we don't know. That's what we do here.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
Excellent Aaron Rodgers. He is just the wheel that keeps
on turning. No, that's Kyle Brant for our show. Kyle
get in. Peter shot one more time. It was very entertaining.

Speaker 4 (13:48):
Aaron added another long ball prayer to his resume on
Monday Night. I thought were gonna be song ball player,
because that's what Devonte Adams might be. He is the
king of hail Mary's and Kyle Brandt will break it
all down still to come on our show.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Yeah, there's there's something. It's it's not spoken nothing about
these hail Marys.

Speaker 6 (14:06):
We know Rogers, Rogers, Rogers, Rogers, somebody catches the ball
guys and we need to get into it.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
You think I don't have a deep dive on Jeff Jannis,
because I do. Let's go I have a deep dive
on Jeff channel Richard Rodgers. Are you up been watching?

Speaker 6 (14:17):
You better be, buddy, because I got thoughts. Whiteport Wednesday.
Next Lions Vikings game of the week. It's this week's
Commander's Ravens and the senior Supremacy on the Lion and
who comes out as King in the North.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
There they are, buddy, Peter, look at them. Look at them?

Speaker 6 (14:32):
Yes, look at They're having coffee in bed.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
She's feeding him and it's great.

Speaker 6 (14:35):
They're holding hands. Soup.

Speaker 2 (14:40):
Stop feeling so well, then they're gonna do it. She's
under the weather. Then they're gonna make love. They give
a little soup. Look the soup.

Speaker 4 (14:58):
Football Time for undefeated segment.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Whitboard Wednesday.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
Get your Marcus out, get your erasers out, and get
your topics all ready.

Speaker 3 (15:07):
For the whiteboard. Here we go.

Speaker 4 (15:09):
Huge NFC North matchup inbound. The Vikings are hosting the
Detroit Lions on Sunday. Peter, there must be one player
that you are watching closest when this game comes around
on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
After Reik.

Speaker 8 (15:23):
It's devastating to lose Aiden Hutchinson from this game, but
someone on defense needs to step up. And in August
I did my top ten breakout players in the NFL list.
You got some pretty good accuracy on it. Sometimes I
miss I was going the shore pretty good when this
guy was number four. Brian Branch is the player that
I am looking at.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
He is the.

Speaker 8 (15:41):
Electric defensive back for the Detroit Lions who had a
career day against the Dallas Cowboys, and I think with
Aiden Hutchinson down, a leader must emerge. Second year player
going up against the hated Vikings.

Speaker 5 (15:55):
I have to see if this guy is now the vocal.

Speaker 8 (15:57):
Leader, but also the guy that's going to put numbers
up like this.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
This was against the Cowboys.

Speaker 8 (16:01):
He had two interceptions, he had a fourth, he had
a quarterback, and he had six tackles.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Flies all over the field. Where's number thirty two?

Speaker 8 (16:10):
I think we're going to be hearing his name made
a lot in this game, and I think his role
and responsibilities within that Lions defense is going to have
to increase. With the great Aiden Hutchinson, the leader of
that unit, being down, Brian Branch time to step up.
Even more, and I think you're having an incredible year
as is.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
Yeah, Peter, I keep seeing takes.

Speaker 4 (16:26):
It's like, because he was the forty fifth overall pick,
like forty four times, team said no thanks, we'll move
on from Brian branch like because he's having such an
awesome season so far.

Speaker 3 (16:35):
Chip on the shoulder nice.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
All right for me?

Speaker 5 (16:38):
Last week the Lions beat the breaks off of the
Cowboys forty seven to nine, And so this one just
makes me want to look at this man right here,
Jared Goff going up against this amazing team in the
Minnesota Vikings. Now, when you think about how Jared Goff
has been playing fifty four of sixty six, he's eighty

(16:59):
one percent in completion rate, seven touchdowns, you know, one
interception in the last three game, Like this dude isn't
playing ball.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
And I just love you the chance. I love Jered Goff.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
I love everything that is happening for this offense. But
the one concern that I do have, and that's why
I'm gonna be watching him very closely. We all know
how aggressive Brian Flores and that defense is. We know
that we saw what he did in Week five against
Aaron Rodgers, I mean that covers zero bringing pressure. I mean,
like almost all the passes, we just saw a lot
of pressure coming. So I will say that Jared Golf,

(17:32):
I think he's gonna be able to stand up in
that pocket, but oh boy, he might want to get
a little bit of like a little jiggle on him
because they come in.

Speaker 2 (17:39):
They coming for him, no doubt.

Speaker 6 (17:41):
And I'm watching someone who's gonna have to get down
and lower their hips and throw their shoulders anybody on
the Vikings who has to tackle talking about our Van
Ginko Harrison Smith, because I'm looking at David Montgomery. We
have a lot of fun with him here on the
show this year. If it's a angry runs and he's
nominated every year, he's won every week he's won twice,
and that is fun, but it also is an accurate
barometer for how hard he is running and the Lions

(18:01):
running game. In fact, he is running so hard and
doing so well on our show and our segment then
on his weekly radio hit, David Montgomery's running style and
the awards he's been building up caught the attention of
the franchise quarterback Jared Goff.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
Go ahead, how impressed are you? With David Montgomery's running style. Yeah,
he's damn good.

Speaker 7 (18:21):
He's fun to watch and it seems like the run
is never over with him.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
And he's one the angry run thing.

Speaker 7 (18:26):
Now twice he's gotten the double scepter.

Speaker 8 (18:28):
It's called.

Speaker 6 (18:28):
Don't know how many guys have got in that.

Speaker 7 (18:30):
And we'll see if he can get a triple scepter
coming up here.

Speaker 6 (18:33):
Go calling for the triple scepter. And by the way,
it almost came to that. He lost to Tyler LGF
the Falcons. But when you get the quarterback excited about
how hard you are running, and this quarterback has seen
a lot of football, he's seen a lot of good
running backs, you are really making everybody notice. The hardest
runner in the NFL right now is coming for the
heart of the Vikings defense. Better watch out. This is

(18:54):
just light work for him. Light work, and you may
get the triple scepter after this.

Speaker 2 (18:58):
We don't know.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Okay, Branch, goff Montgomery.

Speaker 4 (19:02):
You guys are in dangerous territory. Say justin Jefferson's name
for a second, please, Like my goodness, it's a little
unfair when it goes stree to nothing for an undefeated
team who is coming into this game.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
Someone's got to mention somebody from the Vikings. I just
felt the moral.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
Obligation, Jamie.

Speaker 8 (19:17):
That's how you want That's how you want it. You
want to be overlooked and dismissed.

Speaker 2 (19:22):
You got you know that about that.

Speaker 4 (19:24):
Now, let's see if Justin Jefferson who showed up at
the game in London to play the Jets with a
diamond crusted jet necklace, which he's like it says, I'm jetas.
It's like, no, I think you could going to beat
the brakes off the Jets if he shows up with
the Lion and he's just like, no, it's because I
just own all this jewelry and I'm gonna be Then
we're gonna see a friend.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (19:41):
Speaking of the Jets, DeVante Adams has been reunited with
his BFF Aaron Rodgers and what hopes to turn the
Jets season around with this pair, they are one of
the best quarterback wide receiver duos of all time, which
makes us think, is there another favorite memorable career reunion, Peter,
that you have watched unfold that you would like to
write and show us on your whiteboard.

Speaker 8 (20:02):
I listened to a lot of podcasts. I like to
think a lot of it is sports related. That makes
me a smarter, savvier sports broadcaster. But the podcast I'm
most into is one that is hosted by these guys.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
Dana Carvey and David Spade. Let's Go.

Speaker 8 (20:17):
They host a podcast called Fly on the Wall. They
interview everyone that's ever been on Saturday Night Live, and
they go episode by episode after the Saturday Live episode's air,
and the two of these guys have an incredible rapport
and oh, by the way.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Dana Carvey's back.

Speaker 8 (20:31):
Guys, Dana Carvey is doing the Joe Biden on Saturday
Go type in Joe Biden family feud from this week President.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
Joe Biden Dana Carvey like he did George W.

Speaker 8 (20:42):
Bush so many years ago, stealing in the zeitgeist.

Speaker 2 (20:45):
I am so into these two right now.

Speaker 8 (20:48):
Grew up watching them in the nineties and now here
we are in the twenty twenties and kids of a
different generation.

Speaker 2 (20:53):
Are like, those two guys are hilarious. Carvey and Spade.
I'm here for it.

Speaker 5 (20:56):
Hell yeah, Okay, all right, I have one that's a
little different. It's a little story, so I'm gonna just
bear with me.

Speaker 2 (21:03):
Here. I'll never forget.

Speaker 5 (21:04):
It was sometime in November.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
I'm at Audubon Middle.

Speaker 5 (21:07):
School in Los Angeles and it's after school, and I
hear all the TVs on and all the teachers are.

Speaker 2 (21:13):
Gathered up in the room. I'm like, what's going on?

Speaker 5 (21:15):
And I remember my teacher, Miss King, says, boy, get
out of here, get out of here, go home. And
I start walking home and I hear all the TVs on.
It was November seventh, nineteen ninety one. Magic Johnson had
retired from the NBA from the Los Angeles Lakers.

Speaker 2 (21:30):
I was heartbroken.

Speaker 5 (21:30):
I was crying as the Lakers for Oh no, I
can't believe it.

Speaker 2 (21:33):
It's over. Life is over.

Speaker 5 (21:35):
Magic Johnson in nineteen ninety six, about four and a
half years later, reunites with the Lakers. Of course, we remember
the showtime Laker. This was a different Magic Johnson. He
came back at a new position. It was called the
point forward. You would appreciate that I was like a
point forward. I've never heard of that. He was buffer,
he was bigger. The world had changed, and I will

(21:59):
never forget that I made it to that first game back.
I said, I have to go see Magic Johnson nineteen
ninety six. It was against the Golden State Warriors. He
put up nineteen points, had ten assists. He was back
doing the no Look, eight rebounds. I'll never forget that.
That to me is the all time best reunion. Magic
Johnson going back to the Lakers, DeVante Adams to the

(22:19):
Jets and Aaron Rodgers.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
That's not a reunion, Magic Johnson. Magic Johnson going back
to the Lakers. That was a reunion.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
You were a reunion.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
Purists, you're telling yes, like it's like it's a different team,
it doesn't matter, but it's got to be the same team.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Yea, it was the same thing.

Speaker 3 (22:32):
I got you.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
I want Magic to have a reunion with the Magic Hour.
That was my remember the basketball. I like the Magic Hour.

Speaker 6 (22:39):
There are three movies I've seen in the theater that
have made me cry. They are a Boys in the Hood,
Rudy and Star Wars The Force Awakens. When I was
an adult man, Harrison Ford reuniting with the Star Wars
Empire was a massive deal for every fanboy.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Every quote unquote nerd. There he is in the early eighties.

Speaker 6 (22:56):
That of course would be episode six, the Return of
the Jedi. But when he came back and it was
the JJ Abrams thing and there we go. He was
back in the Peter this moment. I literally cried in
the movie theater when he and Chewie walked back in
the cockpit. And you know who was not emotional about
it whatsoever, Harrison Ford.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
He's on with Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy found like, so like, you're.

Speaker 6 (23:17):
Back, You're back in the cockpit and when you walked
into the Millennium falcon, like did you get emotional?

Speaker 2 (23:22):
And he goes, I got paid. Oh, we love you.
Harrison Ford never ever changed.

Speaker 6 (23:27):
You don't give a damn about all the nostalgia, but
this one's to me. This and it ended terribly in
that movie for the character. But it was wonderful all
for all of us fans. I'll cry right now thinking
about it's beautiful.

Speaker 4 (23:37):
I'll cry with you when Harrison Ford has a new
movie come out. I like the movie, but I like
when he has to go on the interview circuit because
like the things, the unnot things that Harrison Ford says
about being a star in Hollywood, it's really entertaining.

Speaker 3 (23:50):
We always love a Harrison Ford honest answer.

Speaker 4 (23:52):
Yesterday, we asked if Saquon Barkley returning to New York
is a revenge game if you deem it as such.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
The answers were mixed.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
But the point is this revenge game could be categorized
as a over used sports cliche. But sometimes Peter, who
can't help but use it? So, Peter, what is your favorite?
Your least favorite? Excuse me over use vae? You hate it,
you're annoyed by it, get rid of it, write it
on your whiteboard, and then hopefully you could erase it forever.

Speaker 3 (24:20):
Least favorite? Over YOUU sports cliche, Jamie.

Speaker 8 (24:22):
I can go chronologically since we've been doing a show,
to when I grew up watching, to when I played
sports in high school, all this stuff.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
But I'm gonna go now. I'm good with this one.

Speaker 3 (24:32):
What do you mean?

Speaker 2 (24:33):
He is him? Like I'm good. I'm good. I'm good
because they can't all be him. I mean, if I
should be able to be one hymn.

Speaker 8 (24:39):
But I'm watching college football and some you know, Boise
State players him, And then the next day I'm watching
the NFL and some Minnianapolis cults, and then I'm watching
the WNBA and it's like she is she is there's
a lot to follow here.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Does get complicated? So I say, he is him, I'm good,
I'm done. Let's put it away right along.

Speaker 6 (24:58):
It's one thing when the players say it and everything.
It's when the social media account starts saying that someone
is him.

Speaker 8 (25:05):
A fifty eight year old broadcaster from Syracuse who comes
out and it's like.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
What it do, fella? What it do? Fella? He is,
I'm like, I'm good, put it away. Goh man, I
got a girl. Good laugh on it? You right home? Him?
But we can't all be mine?

Speaker 5 (25:20):
Is this one that keeps popping up to me and
I keep hearing it operation, and especially in football, you're
hearing a lot of that, Oh we're running this operation.
We got to shut down this operation. You look at
this operation. Come on, man, like, what do we playing?
We're not playing operation. I don't want to I don't
want to do operation anymore. Let's come up with something else,
like Operation is too long, it doesn't sound right, it's

(25:40):
not cool, it doesn't make you sound smarter or that
you know, and you watch more film, stop using operation.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
It's my least favorite. That that one. To me, I
just can't do it.

Speaker 6 (25:49):
It's stiff it's a great child's game, though still electric
all these years later.

Speaker 2 (25:54):
I just had to add this recently.

Speaker 6 (25:56):
Recently, Harrison Ford in an interview with GQ and they
say to him, you know, we have to ask a
little fashion. There's a picture of you from can Film
Festival in the eighties and you ring a blue top
and blue shorts and it's gone viral.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
Would you just tell us if you remember that? And
Hairsport literally goes, I'm going to be sick, and he walks.

Speaker 6 (26:11):
Out of the frame. He just cannot do it. Harrisipfort
never change. He is Hairsupport?

Speaker 2 (26:16):
Is him? Fight Operation Peter on TV just going on
a rant about he is him. I didn't have that
on my bingo. I will continue to parade against this, guys.
It was a funny, witty way to.

Speaker 6 (26:30):
Say something unusual happened about three years ago, and then
every single person started doing it.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
And like your aunt Susan on Facebook is saying, didn't
have this on my bingo card.

Speaker 6 (26:40):
It's something about Kamala and it's just like it's all bad.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
Stop saying the bingo card thing.

Speaker 6 (26:44):
There are reputable, prestigious people, it's huge platforms still unironically
making the bingo card line, it's really lame and it's
really done. It had its run and it's over. Please
please stop saying you know what I wish they had
on my bingo card. Nobody mentioned in their bingo card anymore,
and I would cross it off.

Speaker 2 (27:01):
I would that's my free space right in the middle.
Stop it with a stip pick up card. I hate it.

Speaker 5 (27:08):
One of my analysis one of these days, just to
get under.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
Your skin.

Speaker 4 (27:12):
That when you hear it now, all you will think
of is Kyle Brand's angry face right there. I'm like
it really it makes you there. People still use it
all over the place, guys. I texted something recently that
I need to stop doing, and people say it now
and I think it's kind of like the really thing.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
I do it all the time. I need to stop.
I can't like I just it's like.

Speaker 4 (27:31):
Oh this so and so I had, like a great game.
He needs to be amazed. I can't even or like
I'm dead. It's just like it's I'm dead. It's like
I did it to the other day in the group chat.

Speaker 3 (27:41):
Just like the school face.

Speaker 4 (27:43):
I need to remove the skull from my favorite emojis
used because emojiz I'm dead. It's just well, I'm dead
with myself for using that. It's too much and like, really,
I'm just looking at myself. Stop saying it, stop using it.
Bingo card operationally and operation and I'm here.

Speaker 3 (28:03):
You are him as there can only be one. I'm
kind of thank you.

Speaker 2 (28:06):
Yeah, poor Jamie, I'll take it.

Speaker 3 (28:09):
Moving on.

Speaker 9 (28:10):
Yeah, Well, the NFL wrapping up the Fall League meeting
on Tuesday, and one of the topics of discussion was
how the new dynamic kickoff rule is going. Here's Commissioner
Roger Goodell on that.

Speaker 10 (28:22):
We're starting to see I think the excitement of that
play again and you know, we're seeing long returns, both
for touchdowns and over forty yards is how we sort
of look at it. So it's also moved a start line,
the start drive line, and I think that's really important,
roughly the twenty four to the twenty nine, so it's
a five year increase that's important in the context of offense,

(28:44):
and so well, we will probably i would say, work
on certain elements of that at the end of the
season when we have more data and more experience. I
think it's bodes very well for the future. The kickoff.

Speaker 9 (28:57):
In other news from the meeting, NFL owners officially approving
Tom Brady as a limited partner of the Raiders, Brady
personally holding out five percent stake in the team. Brady's
saying he's eager to contribute to the organization in any
way he can, but because he's an owner, he cannot
play quarterback. And on Saturday, the Kansas City Regional was
the first regional of this flag football season, with thirty
four teams competing from various states.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
The high school girls Casey.

Speaker 9 (29:21):
Shockers got redemption and punched their ticket back to the
summer championships. This team features seven returners who are looking
to make an even deeper run this year. To find
a league near you, visit nflflag dot com. Coming up,
our guy P Shregs will break out his fab five
rookies from this past week who made the cut.

Speaker 11 (29:39):
Find out when Good Morning Football returns.

Speaker 8 (29:54):
Good Morning Football It's Wednesday, which means we've break out
the list Shreggers Fabulous Five. This is where we give
our list of the top five rookies last week. And
it has gotten to the point where I have GMS coaches, coordinators,
maybe most dubiously agents reaching out to me saying, how
have you not included my guy.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
On the list?

Speaker 8 (30:15):
Sending me numbers, sending me stats. Each week, only five
can make it. There will be a lot of unhappy
parties after this one. We start off with number five
and we go up to Western New York where rookie
running back Ray Davis had his national coming out party
against the Jets.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Ray Davis was awesome. On Monday night.

Speaker 8 (30:32):
Davis, all of the field's had one hundred and fifty
scrimmage yards. In fact, he had one hundred and fifty
two and in the first drive was like I'm going
to assert myself. They ran the ball in eight of
the first nine plays and Ray Davis was the key
man opening the passing game as well. How good was
his performance from the Bills rookie out of Kentucky, Ray

(30:53):
Davis had the third most scrimmage yards by a rookie
in the last twenty years of Bill's football.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
We go back to Marshawn who, in a game.

Speaker 8 (31:04):
Again Cincinnati, had one hundred and sixty yards, Sammy Watkins
who was a fourth overall pick, and then you get
Ray Davis, a Day three pick who went for one
fifty two and demoralized the Jets. He is the first
rookie with seventy five rushing yards and fifty receiving yards
in any game since Breise Hall did it two years
ago for the Jets against the Dolphinsteam's true, that's it.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
He made it that he hurt. It is number four.

Speaker 8 (31:31):
We go to Philly where Nick Sirianni stole a lot
of the headlines. But let's not get it lost that
Cooper Dijon had one of the best games by any
defensive back in football.

Speaker 2 (31:40):
This past weekend.

Speaker 8 (31:42):
The rookie had in this one five tackles and also
had pump returnyards throughout the game fifty plus.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
And this was his first start.

Speaker 8 (31:53):
As a player for the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
He was all over the field.

Speaker 8 (31:57):
You couldn't get anywhere watching this game without him popping
up on the screen. Now, look, the coolest part was
he and fellow rookie Quinion Mitchell.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
They did a jersey swap amongst each other, two rookies
after the game.

Speaker 8 (32:08):
Two rookie defensive back on the same Team's cool.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
You look at this stat right here, and this is
kind of cool.

Speaker 8 (32:13):
Look at the other names you've got, Flip Wee, Cannon
and You've got Patrick Peterson, two legends of their generations.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
And then you've got Cooper who had fifty.

Speaker 8 (32:21):
Plus punt retard ron retard yards was taking it back
the entire game. Eagles have a star, their second round
pick who's finally healthy and finally on the field.

Speaker 2 (32:30):
Now, historically on this segment, we've been.

Speaker 8 (32:32):
Doing it a few years. We like to reward players
from winning teams. It takes a sensational performance to be
a losing player on a team and yet still make
the Fab Five. Number three in our lists for the
sixth consecutive week is Commander's rookie quarterback Jaden Daniels, who.

Speaker 2 (32:50):
In a loss, was outstanding.

Speaker 8 (32:53):
I wanted these plays specifically in the footage of these plays,
this pass that he has to zach Ertz is absolutely incredible.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
You look, it's a fake handoff watching.

Speaker 8 (33:04):
This one here, and then throw the look away on.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
That one and they.

Speaker 8 (33:07):
Complete the pass across the middle. Look at it one
more time here, look at his head and he gets
hit and he still makes the key completion to Earth,
which was a huge moment in this game. And how
about this one, the touchdown down fourteen, He just throws
it almost blindly thinking mclaurin's gotta be there. You watch
where he threw it from this angle here on the

(33:28):
biggest play of the game for the Commanders.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Cut the lead to seven.

Speaker 8 (33:31):
Unfortunately they wouldn't get another shot here. But Jayden Daniels
never wavered. He was in this game. He went in
against the Commanders and he was still against the Ravens.

Speaker 2 (33:39):
He was as good as he's been in his first
five starts that we've been raving about.

Speaker 8 (33:43):
An unbelievable performance, and this was the first touchdown to McLaurin.

Speaker 2 (33:46):
I thought he was excellent and was up to the task.

Speaker 8 (33:50):
Highest percentage of drives ending in a score first six games,
last thirty seasons.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Reason not pretty cool, Peter. This is history, mind you.

Speaker 8 (33:59):
These are not these players rookie seasons. These are these
players arguably best seasons.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
And yet every time.

Speaker 8 (34:05):
Jayden takes the score, it takes the field. It looks
like chess Way has to stand on the sideline. And
we're not even bringing out Austin Cyberg because.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
We have our guy. It's this guy, Jaden Daniels.

Speaker 8 (34:15):
We're always going to edit a score, field goal or
touchdown the punter stay off the field. A lot of
times field goal kickers stay off the field because we're
going for it, because this guy can get the touchdown.
What Jaden Daniels is doing is still unprecedented, and yet
he's not number one of the list.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
We've got two more for number two.

Speaker 8 (34:29):
Let's go to New Orleans, where Tampa Bay rookie running
back Bucky Irving had a career afternoon. The former Oregon
Duck shows up in New Orleans after traveling seven hundred
miles and being there since the Tuesday beforehand, and hasn't arguably.

Speaker 2 (34:44):
The play of the week.

Speaker 8 (34:45):
Let's go to the Fox broadcast to relive the Bucky
Irving angry run where Baker Mayfield makes an appearance in
the blocking game as well.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Ta a Bay inside of the rule. It's forty five.
We'll just be happy with possession. Baker Mayfield a thirty
one yard rum ball for Buckie, one of the longest
runs of his career.

Speaker 8 (35:14):
One of the coolest runs of the season, and Bucky
had career highs across the board. He had fourteen carries,
he had eighty one stretching yards, he had twenty four
receiving yards, and right now, Bucky Irving a Day three,
pick leads all rookies in rushing with three hundred and
twenty eight yards.

Speaker 2 (35:31):
I'll go one step further. Rashaan White not on the field.

Speaker 8 (35:33):
They had the all time most rushing yards for a
Buccaneers team with out their typical starter Bucky Irving playing
a huge role, which leads to number one and number one,
it is a pleasure to finally have the number one
overall pick. Here we go, ober one player on the
Fab five. He had his greatest game as a professional player,
and he gave us all a treat in the early

(35:54):
morning window. Number one on our list is Bear's rookie
quarterback Caleb Williams, who absolutely dominated the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (36:05):
Caleb is now four and two.

Speaker 8 (36:08):
Out of the gates and had his best game on Sunday.
The numbers were incredible, the style and the swagger was great,
and the fact that he did it for an international
audience with no other games in the window was something.
Everyone started their Sundays across the world and especially across
the country as this game aired later in the afternoon

(36:28):
in the international waters and they say, Wow, Caleb Williams
is for real. You look at this best record in
first six starts for a number one overall quarterback since
we started the modern era, and Caleb has the best one.

Speaker 2 (36:43):
Bigger than Andrew.

Speaker 8 (36:44):
Luck who had a great rookie year, bigger than Sam Bradford,
and bigger than Kyler Murray who had a tie that
early going. He's the fourth rookie to ever have four
plus passing touchdowns and fifty plus rushing yards in a game.
He did that Sunday against Jacksonville. Caleb Williams has arrived,
and if you want to see it, here's the list.

Speaker 2 (37:03):
One more time. We go five to one, and we
do so.

Speaker 8 (37:07):
With Caleb Williams as the number one player on the list.

Speaker 2 (37:11):
Of course, we're gonna hear from a lot of you
at home.

Speaker 8 (37:13):
Where's Brock Bowers, Where's Tyron Tracy?

Speaker 2 (37:18):
Where's the corner out of Tennessee? Who is locked down?

Speaker 8 (37:21):
There's a lot of different players who didn't make the list,
but here is who made mine.

Speaker 2 (37:25):
Your striggers.

Speaker 8 (37:26):
Fabulous five, Kyle Brant, Caleb Williams is number one.

Speaker 6 (37:30):
Your thoughts, it's great, My thoughts, Sorry, it's an amazing list.

Speaker 2 (37:33):
I still can't believe that Jadan Williams full screen.

Speaker 6 (37:35):
You brought up where he's looking down at Peyton, Kurt
Warner and Brady.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
But Peter said Jayden Daniels, that is an error. We'll
change that in the first post month.

Speaker 6 (37:42):
But we do. We changed things up close. But Peter
set the table for the segment. Unlike anybody else where.
He says, all the gms and agents who are texting
him about where's my guy?

Speaker 2 (37:53):
So I have my own top five list guys.

Speaker 6 (37:55):
Top five people who've been texting her are about his
top five lists. At number five, we have Brandon Beesman
texting Peter. Number four, Howie Roseman, number three, Jason Light,
number two is also Jason Light, and number one my guy,
Sean Stillatto, the super agent.

Speaker 2 (38:08):
He goes, listen, I know Tommy DeVito's not out there.

Speaker 6 (38:09):
I think he's still texting you that he should be
on the list in presence alone.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
I love that. I love so much. That is good. Sorry,
Sean Stillado reached out to you. Did he did he?
Bruce Tallner has been reached? Is that your agent? I
part shout out, no wonder you're talking Gared Golf up
every segment. God, that's how the sausage is made. That's good.

Speaker 4 (38:38):
I'm going to put Jason Light on your board twice, Kyle,
because Bucky Irving. I love the fact that the Buccaneers
have another running back who is an absolute bowling ball
out of the backfield, and the fact that his name
is Bucky Irving and it used to be and he
went the Buccaneer, and he went to Oregon and he's
at the Buccaneer.

Speaker 2 (38:54):
Please, that's great. I will say this.

Speaker 5 (38:57):
I thought Ray Davis should have been number one. Ray Davis,
I mean he got drowned by.

Speaker 2 (39:02):
Carrying Caleb buddy in the game.

Speaker 6 (39:05):
What do we do, hey, Davis, Caleb an Network on Sunday.

Speaker 2 (39:09):
We've got jobs because of Caleb Davis. I know he
wears a cowboy hat. His name. Fourth Rounders
