Speaker 1 (00:33):
Mike, I'm looking at the New York posts rare there.
Should I hold that up? Or should we skip and
go with the.
Speaker 4 (00:36):
Different cook got to go for it.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
They say, Giants Bill Belichick just say no. Strong opinions
on the idea that the Giants can hire Bill Belichick
for their coaching opening.
Speaker 5 (00:47):
I have strong opinions as well, Mike. You Steve Seraby,
Steve've been around long enough, been around since Belichick was it.
Speaker 1 (00:52):
You're right, and they're bringing it back up. We're going
to talk about all kinds of things like that. Maybe that,
maybe otherwise, but all around the league, we got whiteboard,
like you said, we got a great show today. It's Wednesday,
It's good morning football. Should we start it? Let's go
start it there. It is Bully.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Welcome to Good Morning Football, presented by Old Trapper. Hey, well,
happy Wednesday to you. Good morning Football.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
Sherry Man, Ti, Mike G, Kyle, Jamie in Madrid for
the International series.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Who do you think talked more on the plane?
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Is it Jamie to her seat partner Mike G. Maybe
flying when he flew back to New York.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Me, I guess, Mike, you're gonn answer that one. Oh?
Speaker 6 (01:39):
I think.
Speaker 5 (01:40):
Yeah, it's been a long time since you boys had
a conversation.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
On all the life added up, combined and not equal.
The same transcript as Jamie. Jamie likes to chat on
the flights. Oh that's her.
Speaker 6 (01:53):
That's part of her charm. Yeah, Jamie loves his top.
I witnessed it firsthand. I wasn't sitting by her, but
I could see her and she was constantly looking to
her site.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Yeah, she's a chat her.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
But we can't wait to hear her story from her
fly because that's going to be an exciting thing to
catch up on the International Games.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
But first we have some business at hand.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
For the lead block on Sunday night, being back at
SOFI Stadium, it was rough for you Steelers fans, Aaron.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
Rodgers and Pittsburgh.
Speaker 3 (02:15):
He threw two interceptions, sacked three times.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Including this safety.
Speaker 3 (02:21):
Steelers filled to the Chargers twenty five to ten. Well, yesterday,
head coach Mike Tomlin was asked, but what he thought
about his quarterbacks play lately.
Speaker 7 (02:30):
I'm not going to, you know, chalk it up through
Monday night, but there are no long term concerns. Sunday
night was what it was, but I have no long
term reservations about his ability to play the position and
play the position at a high level for us. So
with that understanding, we're going back to work this week
and we've got to put together a better plan. We
got to make more plays.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
So unfamiliar territory, if heels like for the Steelers a
real rough go as of late. They lost three of
their last four games. But as we know, Mike ge
Mike Tomlin likes to say, the standard is the standard.
So as you look at this.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
What do you make of the Steelers right now?
Speaker 5 (03:04):
Bothered me with the Steelers right now, and maybe somebody's
going to tell me that I'm wrong about this and
it's just kind of sort of hyperbole. And I don't
remember five, six, seven years ago whatever, But Aaron Rodgers' reactions.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
To his own teammates, to maybe himself, I don't There's
been a lot of this.
Speaker 5 (03:24):
It's hilarious, a lot of them, and I don't love it, right, Like,
this is not He's strongly hinted that this could be
his last NFL season. He hasn't really closed the door
or or solidified that.
Speaker 8 (03:38):
But is this is this the last vestiges.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
Of a nice guy?
Speaker 8 (03:44):
Come on?
Speaker 5 (03:45):
I mean the one time where he got knocked over,
right and he's yelling, that's a different But this is like,
and I'm reading his lips, Oh yeah, well yeah, I
didn't know that one was in there.
Speaker 8 (03:57):
They're all in there.
Speaker 1 (03:59):
We're still we're not even looping, they're still. Yeah, they're
new ones, right.
Speaker 5 (04:04):
Like what And I'm not going to pretend like I
know what's going on in his head, but like, I
just this leads me to believe like the whole thing
just not on solid ground right now, Like, come on, Aaron,
this is your last? This is this should be the
Derek Jeter Mariano rivera farewell tour giving you gifts and
say waving the opposing fan, I don't want this.
Speaker 1 (04:24):
This is I don't know what's going on.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
Well, here's what's going on.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
This has always been Rogers.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
It's not new.
Speaker 1 (04:31):
He's just not caring anymore. He's always felt that way, okay, always,
This goes back to when he was sitting behind far
If you felt that way, that's Rogers. He just as
you get older, Mike and you can relate to this.
I'm sure in your own life you just don't care anymore.
I'm just gonna be me. So that's always been the guy,
and he is just lending it out where I come
out on the stairs. What do we make of the
(04:52):
five and four Steelers right now? The state of them
and the conversation about them is extremely reactive, instant on
and on NFL news cycle week to week to week.
I'm not going to sit here and say this was
a a great game against the Charge. It was a
bad game. It was a bad road trip to California,
and they got housed for the offense. I thought the
defense was okay. They held Herbert and check, they didn't
(05:13):
get run all over. They had didn't give up any
huge runs at all. Because remember a month ago, I'm
old enough to remember, everyone said the Steelers defense was crap.
But the week to week thing, Guys, one week ago,
right before the Chargers game, do you not remember the
Steelers completely housing the sweetheart Colts. Jonathan Taylor did nothing
(05:33):
in this game. He was completely stuffed. Daniel Jones, the
story of the year, was completely turned inside out by
the Steelers defense. This was not back in Week two,
this week nine. Okay, you have to at least give
them some equity for this game in which the number
one story team quarterback running back. I thought the Colts
(05:53):
had the best offensive line in the entire league. Why
did Daniel Jones have half a second against the Steelers front?
All right, if you want to go quick, reactive, hot
take on most teams in the league, I would say
twenty eight teams in league. Fine, the Steelers organization, You've
got to give them a little bit of equity of yes,
that was a bad game, but year after year they
turn into winning product, and I'm gonna give them so
much equity. I'm gonna do something that I hate. I'm
(06:15):
gonna do something that hate. I'm gonna look at what
do they say, you either die hero or live long
enough to see yourself become the villain. I hate the
segment where you put up a team schedule and just
say win loss, win loss. I'm doing it, going it
right now, Steelers remaining schedule. I'm going to do it
all right for Starting in the upper left, the Bengals.
Remember the Steelers are five and four. They're gonna win
(06:35):
this weekend. That's the Steelers are six and four. They're
gonna lose at the Bears. They're gonna lose to the Bills.
They're gonna lose at the Ravens.
Speaker 4 (06:42):
That's not good.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
That puts them at six and seven. As we go
to the right column. But wait, it's the Steelers, it's Tomlin.
They will beat the Dolphins to get to seven and seven.
They will lose at Detroit to get to a terrible
seven and eight. Then they beat the Browns g at
eight and eight and Baltimore, likely with nothing to play with.
Unless something miraculous happens, the Steelers win, gets what the
record is boys and Girls nine, and through some sort
(07:06):
of tie breaking scenario that may even involve an actual
tie in somebody's record, the Steelers will be in the
wild card round. Take this clip, Save this clip. That
was an awful trip to the Chargers. That game did
not look good. Rogers are screaming at people. Rodgers, Mister
Receivers nine and eight will be there after week eighteen.
I promise you. I'm saying it live and play it
(07:27):
back later.
Speaker 6 (07:28):
I'm taking the clip and I'm saving the clip. Not
for a week, not for the win loss thing, for
what Kyle just did.
Speaker 8 (07:35):
For two days in a row.
Speaker 6 (07:37):
KB just went against everything that we stand for on
this show, everything that I was taught by that man
himself of what we do and what we don't do.
KB in the past two days, in past twenty four hours,
has broken a lot of a lot of the GMFB
commandments that we have on the show.
Speaker 4 (07:52):
So I am so happy right now.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
Okay, with that being said, Manti, I'm going to shatter
the stone tablets. I'm going to do pretenders versus Contenders.
I'm going to do factor fiction, I'm going to do
X factors. I'm gonna do all of them. I'm just
starting to go nuts right now.
Speaker 6 (08:11):
Yeah, yeah, No.
Speaker 4 (08:13):
I want to go back to somebody that Mike G
brought up.
Speaker 6 (08:24):
His name is Mariano Rivera, for the younger crowd that
doesn't know who Mariano Ribera is. He's known as one
of the greatest closers in Major League Baseball. And the
reason why I like that reference is because when I
think about the the Arthur Smith offense, there's a lot
of talk about how Aaron Rodgers has been doing. The
thing about it is a system that he's in, and
he did choose.
Speaker 4 (08:41):
The system, the Arthur Smith.
Speaker 6 (08:43):
This system is designed to close out games. However, it
does not have the scoring ability to come back from
large deficits. Guys, did you know that Arthur Smith led
offense has not ever, whether he's been a head coach
or coordinator, has not come back from a deficit larger
than thirteen points.
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Has never.
Speaker 6 (09:05):
They have not been able to come back from a
deficit more than eight points with under five minutes left
in the game. How many games have we seen this year, guys,
where there have been at least twenty one twenty eight.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Points scored with two minutes left.
Speaker 6 (09:19):
I mean, watching the Cincinnati and Chicago Bears game. I
don't know how many points were scored in the last
two minutes of the game, but it was more than
eight and so when you think about Aaron Rodgers and
you think about this offense, and you think about the
weapons that they have, majority of the weapons, since favorite
targets are tight ends. Guys, they played mainly thirteen personnel,
which is one running back, three tight ends.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
So then you add Aaron Rodgers to this equation, you're.
Speaker 6 (09:43):
Not going to have an offense that's explosive. And in
twenty twenty five, I can't count on both hands the
amount of offenses that can put up many points, a
lot of points in a short amount of time.
Speaker 8 (09:55):
So yes, has Aaron.
Speaker 6 (09:56):
Rodgers seen his struggles, yes, has the offense offensive line
seeing their struggles? Yes, But when you put it in
the grand scheme of this system, this Artis Smith system
was designed to do, it doesn't help his It doesn't
help his case, It doesn't help the Pittsburgh stear this
case and being able to be in these games, in
these close games, and come back and win.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
And as you.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Mentioned it, Kyle, you either what lived to be the
hero or you die of the villain. Twenty one seasons
of Aaron Rodgers playing football in the NFL, so certainly
a lot of case there to be made. We do
want to bring in our NFL Network insider Ian Rappaport, we're
looking at the Giants. If we're breaking all the schools,
I want through rules. I want to see the remaining schedule.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
No, just kidding, We're not looking at the Giants schedule.
They need a new head coach.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
I tell us more, what are we learning about the
Giants quarterbacks or quarterback that Jackson Dart is.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
In concussion before we get to their head coach.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Yeah, we'll start right there with the quarterback.
Speaker 9 (10:49):
Sources tell the insiders that Jameis Winson is now in
line to start for the New York Giants this Sunday.
It's not clear, you know, know for sure, but as
Jacks and Dard, as you mentioned, is in the NFL's
concussion protocol.
Speaker 1 (11:01):
And the way every player responds to.
Speaker 9 (11:02):
A concussion is different, and every concussion is different. So
we will see what he is like today, whether or
not he is able to practice.
Speaker 8 (11:09):
But if he.
Speaker 9 (11:09):
Cannot go, Jameis Winston the likely starter. Now, remember Russell
Wilson has been the backup quarterback. Well, first was the
starting quarterback, then was the backup quarterback for the Giants.
Speaker 1 (11:19):
The last several weeks.
Speaker 9 (11:21):
It has not gone well, Russell's looks bad and you
really do wonder if this is the end for Russell.
Wilson has been a rough, rough goover recently, so Mike Kafka,
the interim coach, going to go with Jamis Winston, who
gets elevated from the three to the two potentially to
start this week.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Jamis of course started seven.
Speaker 9 (11:38):
Games last year, thirteen tds, twelve interceptions. Generally, how it
has gone. You mentioned the coaching search the Giants. Now
I will have Joe Shane, the general manager, leading that
coaching search is going to happen now behind the scenes
as the Giants continue with their season. Kafka, I believe
will get a head coach interview.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Generally the interim coach does.
Speaker 9 (11:59):
If you're talking about some names to watch, wouldn't be
surprised if they got a little bit of a nod
to the Tom Kafflin. Maybe take a look at Steve Spagnola,
their former respect to defensive coordinators both with the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
That would be one name.
Speaker 9 (12:12):
Antonio Pierce would be another name to watch. Just as
far as former Giants. Lou Anarumo was a secondary coach
of the Giants, certainly has done incredibly well as the
defensive coordinator for the Annapolis Colts Matt Naggi, who actually
Kafka has worked with plenty of good names for the
Giants to look at, and considering they got a guy
in Jackson Dart, this is going to be a very
(12:33):
very coveted opening.
Speaker 1 (12:35):
All right.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Well, at least one decision made for the Giants.
Speaker 3 (12:37):
Seamus Winston starting against Green Bay. Please mike him up, Giants,
we want to hear all the sound and we appreciate
your time.
Speaker 10 (12:43):
Now.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
A little bit later in the show, we are going
to be checking on the Houston Texans.
Speaker 2 (12:47):
I understand, Mantai. We get some family on the GMF.
Speaker 6 (12:51):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, we need to go to
the family reunion and then you bring a cousin from
the other side of the family to that region.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Totally.
Speaker 6 (12:56):
I'm bringing this man to our family reunion on GMFB.
Henry Toltoll, the starting middle linebacker for the Houston Texans.
I love them and I can't wait for him to
meet the curator of anger runs because he's not a
running back, but he does play angry.
Speaker 8 (13:11):
Yeah, my brother, Kyle, Kyle, what we got.
Speaker 1 (13:13):
That's my kind of guy. I'm into it. Plus it's
the photograph of the week in the NFL, nay, the
entire United States. That man just casually rolling up to
a Bill's bar. We thought this guy was going to
be fired a couple weeks ago. Now it feels like
he's kind of back. Plus there's that man, and then
there's this man. Why are we looking at Linkovich Chumofski.
(13:36):
That's Brendan Fraser and Encino man. I know his name
because I know stupid stuff like that. I also know
he was part of the NFL conversation. What NFL head
coach mentioned that character yesterday. We'll get into a good
Morning Football whiteboard Wednesday, don't go.
Speaker 8 (13:47):
Anywhere good Morning Football.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
Well, your calendar says it is Wednesday, so you know
that means we are breaking out the whiteboards. Three topics
guy's gonna write. If it's in Manti's case, he's drawing.
Speaker 2 (14:08):
He has been diligent in working on this.
Speaker 3 (14:11):
We're gonna go around the horn talk about a couple
of topics, starting.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
With number one.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
If you think back to Monday night, the Packers falling
to the Eagles ten and seven. But it was after
the game, Micah Parsons had this message to fans in
Green Bay.
Speaker 11 (14:23):
Listen, I mean to the fans, I mean they should
have hope. I mean, it'll be different if we're getting
blown out in fashions of like this is like in despair,
Like we can't win these type of games, Like we're
very capable one of these games. We're just not playing
to the level of the standard that we set for
each other, and we're beating ourselves in fundamentals and technique.
(14:45):
And once we do that, we're gonna be a really
good team. But for right now, we just got to
get back to the basics and do what we have
to do. But I wouldn't panic at all. We're gonna
win a lot for it. Like the way we just play,
we're gonna win a lot of football games.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
All right.
Speaker 3 (14:58):
He's talking the talk, he's walking the walk. He looked
very chill, even though Green Bay has lost two of
their last games.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
I wanted to take.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
Micah's message for Packers fans to another fan base. Do
not stress, do not panic. Mant I want to start
with you, what's a fan base that you need to say, like, relax,
You're gonna be all right.
Speaker 6 (15:17):
Listen, if you're a Baltimore Ravens fan, Do not stress,
do not panic. You're talking about the Green Bay Packers
lost their last two. Well, the Ravens won their last two.
And the thing about their four and five right now, however,
the most important thing is they're one to zero in
the AFC North, so their next five out of their
eight games are divisional opponents. And the way that they're
playing right now, especially the defense. I got to Baltimore Ravens.
(15:40):
I think if you're a Ravens fan, you're very confident
about Lamar Jackson coming back. You're very confident and about
how this defense has been playing as of late. I
think being getting a Logie Gilman in that trade with
the Chargers was huge for them because now they're able
to use Kyle Hamilton the way they want to use them,
and he's everywhere. He's blitzing, he's in coverage, he's doing everything.
But the offense and that defense is starting to play
complimentary football. So if I'm a Baltimore Ravens fan, that's
(16:04):
what I don't worry.
Speaker 4 (16:05):
Be happy.
Speaker 2 (16:06):
That is a beautiful drawing Baltimore Ravens.
Speaker 5 (16:08):
It's fantastic. It makes me not want to hold up mine.
I mean I guess there's like, you know, impressionists or abstract.
I guess I'm more abstract here with the Buffalo Bill.
Speaker 1 (16:19):
Look at the hosts, look at it.
Speaker 5 (16:23):
You know, of course I know that reference. Could you
be Italiana not know that reference? What as I saying, Oh,
Buffalo Bills. Yes, Look, this is more of a leap
of faith type thing. But get in the conversations with
people up there in Buffalo.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
It sort of felt like we need that low point.
Speaker 5 (16:39):
We need that point, and Josh Allen, there's an MVP
season and then there's more of a leadership season, and
this feels more like it's gonna have to be a
leadership type. Maybe he's gonna throw twice as many interceptions
as as he did last year through six last year,
he's already up to five. That's okay, Maybe not as
many yards, maybe not as many touchdowns, but it's gonna
have to be that lift this team up. We are
(17:00):
so much better than this, guys. I don't know what
the problem is is specifically on offense, but this feels.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Like a digging in the weeds, digging into.
Speaker 5 (17:09):
The details type week for the Buffalo Bills.
Speaker 8 (17:11):
I think they're gonna be.
Speaker 1 (17:11):
Okay, Well, there's a couple of teams that I just
implicitly trust. I see the logo and I just think
they'll be okay. Steelers are one of them. I tuck
in the opening segment and then I have the crappiest
logo of all of us. But this is mine, this
is the one we started, This is my my, It's
all right, it's fine. I've done way, way, way worse.
I love I have three and one. The offenses looked
really bad the last couple of weeks, A couple of things.
(17:33):
You have the Giants this weekend. I don't know what
the hell you're getting from them. You know, Jamis is
going to chuck you a couple so that should to
be able to turn into points for the up of
the offense for the Packers. But I also just like
I know Packers. Twitter is very very confident in their team,
bordering on that Midwestern arrogance. You got the Bears twice.
I'm told you guys own the Bears, and Caleb is
(17:53):
a bust and he's terrible, so you should win both
those games. You're gonna face JJ McCarthy. I'm told he's
terrible and he's a bust and you own him, so
you should win that game. And then you just got
to figure out a couple other things that The problem
with the Packers is equipment, problem of standards. I believe
they're going to be in the playoffs, and they're like,
it has to be a super Bowl season. I don't know,
does it? It never is for you guys, so should
be just like it always is in playoffs. Jordan Love
(18:16):
will suddenly start playing well if lural change some things up.
I just look at the Packers logan. I'm like, I
can't see them finishing. I don't know, eight and six
and one or whatever the hell adds up to seventeen.
They'll be there. The logo is not great, but the team.
Speaker 3 (18:29):
Usually is the wrong is and I have the panic
button and it's not even working. So case in point,
we called out your fan base, don't panic.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
Topic two. After the Dolphins meet the.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
Bills on Sunday, Mike McDaniels the scene spotted driving by
the Elbow Room.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
If you can really look close at.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
This picture on X the arm hanging out of the car, Yeah,
that's that's coach. Well, apparently Bill's fans, the Bill's Mafia
found out, and when Dolphins media gathered, they asked the coach, said, Coach,
was this you?
Speaker 2 (18:59):
That's why I like the good old days?
Speaker 12 (19:01):
You know, the throwbacks of your you could trust you know,
the the internet and the images because you know it
is pretty detail that you know, I do live in
that area, but I mean AI right, well, I mean
(19:22):
I mean I live in that area. AI is real.
That's what I got for you.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Yeah, Coach McDaniel, that's where he went. He went AI.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
So maybe a little troll job I see their coach
over this side, just out your window.
Speaker 2 (19:35):
What is your favorite?
Speaker 8 (19:37):
So much?
Speaker 2 (19:38):
Thank you, NFL troll job man came to my furt.
I was inspired by your drawing.
Speaker 8 (19:42):
Oh thank you.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
We all inspire each other.
Speaker 8 (19:44):
I love this well.
Speaker 6 (19:45):
My inspiration came from this draft. I don't know if
anybody remembers. The biggest troll moment and the funniest happened
at this draft was in twenty nineteen and Tennessee and
what the heck, I might as well just play it.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
Go ahead.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
I'm not going to say a single word about the
Tennessee Titans record.
Speaker 13 (19:59):
Against the Indianapolis because I was a puna and there's no.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Reason for me to talk about that. With that being said, we.
Speaker 6 (20:08):
Did not pump much against the Tennessee Titans.
Speaker 14 (20:11):
You probably have no clue who I am to begin, Like,
Pat McAfee is one of the biggest trolls when he
was a punter, especially now as a teeper personality.
Speaker 8 (20:23):
But that was I.
Speaker 6 (20:24):
Remember watching that live and I couldn't stop laughing at
the slight flex that he just made against the Tennessee Titans.
As a punter for the Indianapolis coach saw I gotta
go Pat McAfee at the twenty nineteen NFL draft in Tennessee,
does mine.
Speaker 5 (20:38):
Man tie back in twenty fourteen, Jeff Fisher, the coach
of the Rams, and out six players. This is for
the coin toss you Norris Jenkins, Michael Brockers, Zach Stacy
Steedman Bailey, Greg Robinson, and Alec Ogletree who were those players?
Those were the players acquired in the trade for Robert Griffin,
the third who at the time was on the bench
for Washington. And so it's like it's kind of harmless,
(21:01):
but it's also like, dude, you know, the rub their
noses in it way about. Dan Schneider was the owner
of the team at the time, and everybody loved to
rub his nose in it when things did not go
very well for them. So I thought it was I
thought it was cool. You know, sometimes you see players
who playing their former team, they get set out for
the coin toss. This was like, yeah, that's sort of
our former team.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
We got all these guys via picks. We got that trade.
Speaker 4 (21:23):
It was great.
Speaker 1 (21:24):
It was so much more imaginative than say some I
don't know, twenty eight to three thing against the Falcons
has been done a thousand times.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
It's kind of lame.
Speaker 1 (21:30):
That one was great. I'm pulling from the headlines. Do
you guys, Are you guys familiar here with the twenty
twenty five New York Jets. They've won two in a row,
thround a winning streak, and if it just took a
little bit for Aaron Glenn to settle in into his confidence,
into some flamboyance. Aaron Glenn yesterday was holding court and
going on offense with the media about injuries and speaking
(21:53):
about them.
Speaker 8 (21:53):
This was yesterday.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Watch.
Speaker 15 (21:56):
I'm going to pass on talking about injuries since you're rich.
Oh he's not here, has all the answers, so you can, guys,
can get all the injuries from Rich Is.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Gareth be a candidate for IR or is that not
something you want?
Speaker 4 (22:09):
As rich.
Speaker 15 (22:11):
Well, I'm telling you that, ask rich.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
Well you better call him.
Speaker 8 (22:14):
No disrespect to you who are rich, but like, we
want to hear it from you.
Speaker 4 (22:18):
You know, you guys have been here.
Speaker 15 (22:19):
You guys have been hearing from me. But now since
we're just reporting stuff you know that I haven't said,
then maybe you should ask you.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
I mean, so he's talking about rich SEMANI, who I
don't have a relationship with, but I respect and I
respect everyone.
Speaker 4 (22:32):
Not the point.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
There's a really polarizing reaction to that. I've done the
work with Jets fans. Some of them are like, coach,
shut up, what are you doing? And some of them
are like, hell yeah, coach, this is Parcellian right now,
go on. Often this is how you handle the New
York media. I just think he actually has something to
say for the first time. He has the two game
win streak. Now, don't lose by a hundred to the
Patriots this weekend, and really don't Nobody wants that, maybe
(22:55):
other than rich to media so we can have a
retort to that press conference. But at least Aaron Glenn.
You hired him for that, right, You hired him to
be himself, to be fiery, among other things, and at
least he's doing it now. But you guys, we have
trolls from over the years. That's not even twenty four
hours old yet, so it's happening in real time.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
And you got to think about it.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
He was so happy when they were losing, and now
that they're on this wind Streek. You mentioned Kyle, he's
like Stern and just taking shots at reporters. You also
mentioned they played the Patriots, which head coach Mike Babel
was asked about his veteran wide receiver friend of our show,
Mac Collins. He said a very interesting quote about the
way he sort of presents himself.
Speaker 13 (23:30):
Listen, I appreciate his professional ashm. I think, you know,
don't judge a book by its cover. You know, he
walks around like in Sino Man and but he's but
he's smart, he's easy to talk to. I enjoy our conversations.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
I don't think he's a good leader.
Speaker 13 (23:46):
I think he does a lot of different things for us,
and I like having him here.
Speaker 3 (23:53):
MC collins is one of one, and this man, right,
there in the middle, Brendan.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Fraser is who's referring to and Sin?
Speaker 3 (23:59):
No man classic, right, Kyle, longtime movie character.
Speaker 2 (24:03):
But we want this got a thinking if you had
to pick a Brendan.
Speaker 3 (24:06):
Fraser movie that was your favorite character, who would it be?
Speaker 10 (24:11):
Who?
Speaker 2 (24:11):
What movie? Manti? I'm sorry, Kyle, this is for more
more your wheelhouse. Sorry Manti. We're gonna come back to you.
Speaker 1 (24:18):
Man Ti, get your answer ready. I just people at
home being like, if you're like, what the hell's in Sino?
Speaker 10 (24:21):
Man?
Speaker 1 (24:22):
Bring that picture back. This is a very simple premise.
It's a tale as old as time. It may even
be some sort of adaptation from Shakespeare. I'm not even sure,
but all right, So in the middle there you have
Brendan Fraser, who plays Link, who is a caveman. On
the left you have the great Sean Aston, who is
a high school kid in the valley in la and Sino.
On the far right you have Polly Shore the Weasel,
who is his best friend. Sean Aston wants to be popular,
(24:43):
like all those moves back in the day, So his
way of being popular is if I dig a swimming
pool in my backyard with my bare hands, I can
have a swimming pool, will get a party and the
popular kids will come. While he's digging the swimming pool,
he encounters a frozen caveman in the shape of Brendan Fraser, who,
of course he thaws. Fraser comes out. He's perfectly healthiest
complexion is amazing. He's really ubula and then he and
(25:06):
Paul Shore usher him through the waves of high school
in the nineties and a true fish out of Water
comedy that was not liked at the time, but it
has Vince Neil on the soundtrack, not Maley krub but
Vince Neil has Michael Luise dom de Luiz's son as
the villain and has gone on to produce two Academy
Award winners from the same script. It's a long story,
but that is your table setter, Manti, What is your
favorite Brendan Fraser movie outside of Incino Man.
Speaker 6 (25:28):
Outside of Encino Man, I gotta go with the Mummy
returns Now. In this Whole Thing, Brendan Fraser plays Rick O'Connell.
It was like this discovery archaeologist.
Speaker 8 (25:39):
Kind of guy.
Speaker 6 (25:39):
But the reason why this movie was my favorite was
this was actually the Rocks first ever movie, and I
can't tell you how many childhood war Street War Game
started with Oho Shunter.
Speaker 4 (25:51):
That's why The.
Speaker 6 (25:52):
Mummy Returns is my favorite movie because of Brendan Fraser
and because.
Speaker 1 (25:55):
Of the Rocks.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
So that's what I got.
Speaker 5 (25:56):
Mike g I remember seeing in Sino Man, but maybe
as an adult thinking like the average temperature, the lowest
averagemperature in Asino is sixty seven degrees.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
How doing doesn't make any sense?
Speaker 2 (26:06):
Be dazzled.
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Maybe I'm thinking more about Elizabeth Hurley. Yeah, by the way,
she's still on a prime, which if you're still building
the rock Elizabeth Hurley, Oh yeah, likely.
Speaker 5 (26:18):
But I like how you have to be rich and
famous and he's a drug lord and he's like Lo siento,
no puetostoia blando, it's panoel.
Speaker 1 (26:25):
That's great that it's an amazing part. We plays the
different characters, and she is just a fantastic, fantastic desc man.
For me, this is a deep cut. I mess with Airheads.
Airheads is a movie about Brendan Fraser as a rock star.
He's in a band they're called the Lone Rangers. Steve
Buscemi and Adam Sandler are the other members of the band,
and of course you get the joke. There's three of you.
(26:48):
Not exactly loan. You might want to think about changing
your name. But in the nineties, Chris Farley's in it,
Michael Richards is in it all over the place. Inexplicably,
at the end of the movie, Judd Nelson shows up
like it's they take a radio station hostage kids. Back
in the day, we had something called radio stations and
you would take them hot such a play your demo tape.
There they are, look up, we show me on the right.
He was the basis. That's the lone Rangers. Meyer Heads people,
(27:10):
no airheads. It's not just a candy anymore. Kids. It
used to be a movie and Sandler it was awesome.
Speaker 8 (27:16):
Well.
Speaker 3 (27:16):

The NFL Way to Play Awards are fueled by Gatorade.
They were created to recognize and reward players who lead
by example using proper playing technique. Here to announce the
week ten winner, five time Pro Bowl defensive back and
current Executive Vice President of Football Operations for the NFL,
Troy Visson, A.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Winner this week comes from Berlin, Germany.
Speaker 14 (28:19):
Next, watched the Snavity Decide.
Speaker 10 (28:25):
Cameron Body camper side and I.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
Saw this real time in person.
Speaker 16 (28:30):
Tagged it immediately. Great angle to the QB. What I
really appreciate here. Cam has a choice on how he
was going to tackle the quarterback. He can hit him low,
he can hit him in ahead, neck area, he can
hit him in have body with none of those things occur.
Cam makes a tackle body to the side, shoulders to
the side, doesn't make contact with the head and neck area.
Sack fumble great defensive play and the place in Germany
(28:54):
in Berlin erupted, and then the top it off to
choreographed this outstanding performance by the twenty twenty five version.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
Of Drew Hill.
Speaker 6 (29:05):
For that terrific way to play example, the NFL Foundation
will award a five thousand dollars equipment grant through USA
Football to a youth or high school program of Cam's choice.
To learn more about the NFL Way to Play, check
out Playfootball dot NFL dot com and we'll announce another
winner right here next week.
Speaker 4 (29:23):
Coming up next, we.
Speaker 6 (29:25):
Have a special guest joining us. A connection that I
have with this linebacker, it's personal. He he is literally family.
I'm so excited to have him on the show. Houston
linebacker Henry To all stare right here.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
He's coming, good, mon.
Speaker 2 (29:49):
Boy.
Speaker 6 (29:50):
Our next guest is someone who I know and I
love and is literally family than me. He is now
in his third year in the league and is making
a name for himself on a very very good Houston
Texans defense. Say hello to my USO, Henry Tall Tall.
What's so good to have you? Man, So good to
(30:13):
have you. Let's get straight up, let's get straight to it.
Your team just came back from a twenty a big deficit,
scoring twenty six unanswered points in the fourth quarter. Tell
me how it felt for you as one of the
leaders on that team to start staging that comeback.
Speaker 10 (30:27):
Man, I mean, whenever you can come back like that,
it's like, it feels good, it's gratifying, and that's just
like a testament to who we are as a team.
Like we talk about it all the time. We're gonna
fight one of throw punches. It's not gonna look good,
and we want to find a way to win. And
that's kind of been the story of our season. We
got a hell of the guys in the locker room
where we're gonna fight stratch claw to get the win,
and that was just a testament to who we are.
(30:47):
So I'm really proud of guys.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
But you know, we got.
Speaker 10 (30:49):
Tennessee coming up this week, so really looking forward to
that matchup we got coming up, Henry.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
We're so excited to have you.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
I can just feel the energy reading off of Manti
right now.
Speaker 2 (30:57):
I just want to let you know. So we love
having family here on the show, but.
Speaker 3 (31:02):
We want to get a little football in first, because
I have a lot of questions about man tay too.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
Your quarterback CJ.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Shaw was out, but you guys had Davis Mills back there.
He has been around for a while at that quarterback
position still in Houston. What was it like knowing before
and after just the pressure he was under and just
how he responded in that game.
Speaker 10 (31:21):
Yeah, I mean when I first got here, I got
here as a rookie and Davis was like the quarterback
before you know, CJ got here and everything, but me
watching Davis and seeing Davis behind closed doors. Man, he's
a true pro. Like the way he approaches the game,
the way he approaches practice, every rep that he gets,
the way he like watches film, takes notes. I've just
seen a firsthand like and not expected none less from
(31:41):
when he stepped on the field, I knew he's a
great leader and he's gonna get us a dove and
that's who Davis is. So I don't think it was
pressure for him. He just went out and does what
Davis does.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
Mills Mafia baby stand up. They were on fire and
they will be continuing with you guys. Everything about you
guys is really excitable and energetic. Of course you're yourself,
but Demiko Ryan is the head coach so hyped on
the sideline on Sunday after like he's always hyped. What
is it like working with him? And how contagious is
his energy?
Speaker 4 (32:09):
Man?
Speaker 10 (32:09):
When you got when you got a leader like that,
he's a players coach man and he expects greatness out
of you. You know, me and him have a great relationship.
So when you have somebody that you'll go out and
die for and he still has that like that player
energy where or he's hyped up, he's turned up. When
you make a place, he's jumping up and down with you.
And that's what you want as a player, Like you
want to be able to go out with somebody that
you know that to die for you.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
And that's who the Miko is.
Speaker 10 (32:31):
And he's really relatable. He doesn't only care about you
like as a ballplayer, he cares about you as a man,
Like we have real conversations about being you know, a
husband or father. And that just speaks volumes to to
who Demko is and the leader he is for our organization.
Speaker 5 (32:46):
Let's talk about Daniel Hunter, five time pro bowler, three
and a half sacks go on Sunday up to seven
and a half on the season, what is it with
dog Exactly?
Speaker 8 (32:54):
What does this guy mean to this defense man?
Speaker 10 (32:56):
He's a he's a og man and I future Hall
of Famer, I'm super og and the way he approaches
the game is is very inspirational to not only for
players like me that looks up to it, but like
everybody on our defense and our team that he's a
corner of a stone piece star defense and we wouldn't
be the same without him.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
It's incredible, Henry, what you've been able to do year three. Now,
as you mentioned it, what's one or two things maybe
you've learned to prioritize or even maybe this guy here
to my left has helped you just learn about being
in the NFL.
Speaker 10 (33:25):
I think just taking care of the body, like you
get one body, this is all I get. And being
able to prioritize my body and how I take care
of myself, what I eat and what I put in
my body. And then also I think one of the
biggest part is being able to separate football and family,
like being able to have that time with family, have
that time for football. You know, I spend a lot
of time with my wife, being able to spend time
with her, do everything that she wants to do, and
(33:48):
then also spend time with my dogs. So like having
a good balance within life, Like I think that's kind
of the key secret to it. But then honestly, taking
care of that body is huge.
Speaker 6 (33:56):
So you brought up to a terms football and family,
and family was one thing that I know is important
to you, especially your relationship with uncle, Yesa, your dad
and you and I coach of polleyball together. I remember
you talking to the youth and saying something very profound.
You gave them one piece of advice and that was
honoring your parents. Can you talk a little bit about
your dad and the impact that he's had on you
(34:17):
in your career as a football player but also as
you as a man.
Speaker 2 (34:20):
Yeah, I mean you know it.
Speaker 1 (34:22):
You know it, brother.
Speaker 10 (34:23):
You know, in the Polynesia community, the family is huge
and being able to honor your elders is huge. So
you know, I wouldn't be here without my parents. I
wouldn't be here without my mom, my dad and all
the sacrifices they made for me. And I give them
all the glory like they've done so much for me.
Sleepless nights, spend their last dollar, the last dime on
me for me to be able to just pursue a
dream that I've always wanted. And without them, man, I
(34:45):
wouldn't be here. Like I said, you know, it's huge
in the Polynesia culture and everything that we do as
as Matta. You know, we try to represent our people, well,
we try to represent our last name. The small community
that we come from was super prideful and that's who
who I literally live and die for. For the people
that have the same last name as me, but also
the the younger generations that look up to us.
Speaker 1 (35:07):
So prideful, so so so classy. And yet you guys
hit so hard. You bring it, dude, tell us about mantime.
He's our guy. Now, he's our brother. Here, tell us
any story you want about Manti or maybe just something
that you feel like perfectly encapsulates what Manti is all about. Hey,
(35:27):
that Mats.
Speaker 10 (35:28):
I don't even know this, but you know, before I
joined the Tail family, like man, Matt's how it was
my my dog, my superhero. Like I looked up to him.
I were five number five because of him. So he
don't even know. I haven't even told him that, so,
you know, shout out to you. But man, he was
he was one of those guys that looked up to
big time. But as soon as I joined the family, man,
it was all love and one thing that I didn't
(35:49):
know about Matt time man, that's I could play some pickleball.
Speaker 2 (35:53):
Really he can play.
Speaker 4 (35:57):
He surprised me.
Speaker 10 (35:58):
I first started getting into it, and you know, he
started taking on me for a little bit, and then
as soon as I picked up, he started bashing the
ball and me like, yeah, it was.
Speaker 5 (36:06):
So you keep here, that's amazing.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
I look at this temple of a body in man
tied like three percent body fat, two hundred and forty pounds.
You're using that for a sport for the elderly and
play pickle ball.
Speaker 6 (36:23):
Brother anything and knows this anything family related gets it
gets intense, like Monosco, spades, whatever it is.
Speaker 4 (36:31):
If you don't know how to play, you're gonna learn
fast so that you could be competitive. That's what's up. Yeah,
you've been picking up quick.
Speaker 5 (36:39):
I foresee it doubles. Pick a ball match in our future,
we'll roll in the same location.
Speaker 10 (36:44):
What time.
Speaker 5 (36:44):
Listen, we keep hearing the word good here you go.
I keep hearing the word oose thrown out. I asked
you before we came out. I said, can I call
you guys oos? Absolutely everybody's in. Can you explain to
the folks what the word oose? Because the guy that
actually introduced me to the word oose is your agent,
Ryan Williams, who represents a bunch of guys uh, and
is the well to tell me, like, this is the
(37:05):
ooz culture, this is what that word. Tell the folks
what that word means in its entirety.
Speaker 10 (37:11):
Yeah, man, that's just like my brother like you, my brother, Like,
that's just oos you your brother like And that's just
the simplest way to put it. It just means brother
like we love each other, you in the small circle
that we have. But that's just it, brother, man.
Speaker 8 (37:23):
You the oos. You could be a big ooz or
a little ooze. It depends.
Speaker 6 (37:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (37:27):
Yeah, Yeah that's the big ooz.
Speaker 4 (37:29):
Yeah I'm a big ooz.
Speaker 6 (37:30):
Henry every We're all we're all oosos on this family.
Speaker 4 (37:33):
We're all family.
Speaker 6 (37:34):
So it's so good to see you, so man, it's
it's it's so good And I'm so proud of you
and all that you have accomplished on and off the
football field. Continue to do the things you need to
do to be the best because your forced to be
the best in my eyes.
Speaker 2 (37:44):
So love you.
Speaker 6 (37:45):
So from JMMB to you, tell your tell your family,
we said hello, and I'm sure be seeing you soon.
Speaker 10 (37:51):
All right you guys, love your brother, love your so.
Speaker 1 (37:53):
You're the man.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
Alright, Oos, it's time for what's your beat? Presented by
old Trapper.
Speaker 5 (38:00):
Oh, I got to be my first turn at this. Here,
we've got a crisis in our hands in the NFL
this year. I'm not referring to block field goals or
questionable taunting penalties or miss fall starts on pushes, at
least not on this cut.
Speaker 1 (38:13):
Of air dried beef.
Speaker 5 (38:14):
No, today's hunk of lean protein for me comes courtesy
of NFL coaches who are turning down what they say
is the best thing in life something free.
Speaker 8 (38:23):
Free points three points.
Speaker 5 (38:26):
As a matter of fact, field goals from chip shots
to kicks roughly the length of extra points.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
They're there for the taking.
Speaker 5 (38:33):
But the NFL coaches this year, they are there for
the refusing.
Speaker 1 (38:36):
The most egregious.
Speaker 5 (38:37):
Example of late was in Week nine when Packers coach
Matt Lafleur, with his team down seven with eleven minutes
to play, scuffed, had a thirty one yard field goal
attempt to go four on fourth and eight, Jordan Love's
pass never had a chance. Later in the fourth quarter,
Packers scored a touchdown to tie the game, though they
would have taken the lead if they just taken the
points earlier. The Panthers kicked the field goal to score
(38:58):
a huge upset instead of just setting the game to overtime.
This past Sunday, the coach drove down the field to
start the game, went for fourth and two instead of
forty five yard field goal attempt. Our guy Kurt Water
on the call immediately second guested and said, coming off
a loss, the coach should have taken the points and
some good vibes to start the game. Yes, Kurt, points
(39:18):
aren't good. Late in the third quarter, down four instead
of one, Indy felt the need for a touchdown instead
of a field goal, went forward and fourth and one.
Speaker 1 (39:26):
Stuffed to the text thread.
Speaker 5 (39:29):
We go because we've got this text thread with me
and Tom and Peter Schrager. May he rest in Bristol
and a bunch of agents as well. Here I am
at the top.
Speaker 1 (39:38):
Anybody know what.
Speaker 5 (39:38):
The score would be if they just kicked two field goals?
Asking for a friend there's Ian really which we could
find out because Ian knows I'm mister conservative.
Speaker 1 (39:45):
I waited out the name of the next person.
Speaker 5 (39:47):
Who says bad pitch, not a good Yeah, that's.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
A lot of words.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
Here are three.
Speaker 1 (39:51):
Take the points. Who's that person's text? That's definitely that's
definitely not Schrager. That's an agent.
Speaker 8 (39:57):
No, that's not.
Speaker 1 (39:57):
He wouldn't talk about the game.
Speaker 5 (39:58):
No, that would be five texts Schrager split up because
he just can't put it all in one. I'm known
in that thread as the conservative one. Ian thinks. I
always recommend the field goal over going for seven, not always,
just when it makes sense, and it.
Speaker 1 (40:12):
Makes sense a lot. It worked out for the Colts on.
Speaker 5 (40:15):
Sunday thanks to the late game heroics, but I could have
spared you over time on foreign soil.
Speaker 1 (40:19):
Get on the plane earlier.
Speaker 5 (40:21):
To paraphrase Marcellus Wallace, not Marcellus Wiley. The night of
the game, Ian, you're gonna feel something that's pride messing
with you. Come on, NFL coaches. Don't get stuck in
the basement, chained up with the gimp and needing a
Samurai sword to get you out of trouble.
Speaker 1 (40:36):
Take the points, leave the donuts.
Speaker 5 (40:38):
