And now Move the Sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
What's up, everybody? Welcome to move the sticks, DJ and
Buck with you.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
Buck?

Speaker 2 (00:09):
What is going on? Man?

Speaker 1 (00:10):
Not too much man, just coming off a great weekend,
trying to check it all out. College football is fully
ramped up. We'll talk to Red about his Hoosiers continue
whipping whip people, and then you know, the NFL season,
we're reaching a midpoint, so we kind of know who's won.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
What's what?

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yeah, that'll be on our next episode. We'll have Red on.
We'll see if we made any progress on the rookies.
I don't know if we did or not. Ret'spen on
a heater. I need a Gavin to pick for me
this last week, so hopefully hopefully Gab had a nice jock.
We'll see how that goes. But before we get to, uh,
you know, recapping the rest of these games from Sunday,

(00:48):
we always try and get to the rest of the game.
So if you miss the episode with Baldi, we recapped
the top let's see five ish games, so we'll get
to some of these other games and some of our
other thoughts from that. But before we get to the
NFL you reference to college football stuff. I don't know
me is this gonna be the biggest turnover year? Like
when you look at the jobs that are open right now,

(01:08):
and then you know with potential of who could take
some of these jobs, what you know other jobs are
going to open up. I mean, I'm looking in the
SEC right now, right So it's Florida's open, LSU's openas got,
Arkansas's open. There's rumors that Kentucky could open. Then am

(01:31):
I missing anybody else? Florida, LSU, Arkansas potentially Kentucky. We've
already got that. That's so then we got Penn State,
We've got UCLA, We've got Stanford, We've got Virginia Tech.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Yeah, new commitment.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
I mean, holy correct, Oklahoma State, we've got from the
Big twelve. But you know, here's the thing, So you've
got just Florida, LSU, Penn State. Those three jobs I
think probably are going to go to established guys that
programs they have to. Auburn's another one that's rumored that

(02:14):
that could end up.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
And then South Carolina could also open up, like if
it doesn't finish out the right way.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Yeah, because you have a lot of stuff.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
I mean, I mean DJ, not only that they're talking
about Florida State and everything used to be insurance to
buy out has now become I guess, a simple workaround
for somebody to get on.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Man, we've got to get filment on. Explain like where
the money. I mean, I know there's a lot of money,
but man, these are some massive checks at these.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Well there's some massive checks. And so then DJ we
talked about all right, so all of those sec jobs,
they're looking for someone that can level up. Well, the
only people that can level up I would think would
be guys with a proven track record at that level
of getting to the promised land. But there aren't that
many coaches who've been able to get to the winner

(03:03):
circle that we're talking about.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
It's one thing to get to the playoffs or whatever.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
I mean, what we're going to try and lure Nick
Saban and Urban Meyer out of retirement because when you
think about the coaches that have won.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
Championships, they're not many that are out there.

Speaker 1 (03:17):
So everything we're talking about is pure speculation in terms
of a tried and true coach that knows how to
get the team there.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
So let me just throw a couple things at you.
The names, Like with these SEC jobs, the names that
are going to be the most popular, Lane's going to
be number one. Right, He's an old mess. So if
he were to take one of these jobs now old
misses open open up, then Clark Lee att Vanderbilt good
to be him. He's going to have opportunities for any

(03:46):
of these jobs. I would think, you know, he'd be
a legit candidate. I think our buddy Eli Drinkwitz at Missouri,
if you know Florida LSU, I would think he's got
to be on their their short list. So then maybe
Missouri could pop open. And then you start looking at
Matt Campbell. Is this the year that he find decides
to leave Iowa State? Matt rule has been mentioned at

(04:10):
Penn State obviously because he went there. That's Nebraska. Like
you start doing the musical chairs thing around here, Buck,
and it's now all of a sudden, we're looking at
just and not only hiring new coaches. But it's a
free for all on these rosters at that point in time.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
Yeah, free for all, and it's certainly not a good thing.
I mean, maybe college football thinks it's a great thing
to have all this conversation, but to me, the chaos
doesn't seem to be great. And I think if you're
one of these teams, I think one the program that
you're at, if you're contemplating a move, I think you
better understand where you are in the landscape because making
a move now amid all of this chaos, you could

(04:47):
get left holding the bag and you may get a
downgrade over what you currently have. It is unlike anything
that I've ever seen. The expectations and the pressure. And
I heard Nick Saban say this on a program. He
talked about when you open up the money where you
have collectives and boosters and more, say, you're giving those

(05:09):
people a seat at the table. And now a voice
that was silent now has a lot of weight because
there's a big check attest to it. And so these
coaches have to understand when you open the money in
and all this other stuff. Man, the expectations go through
the roof, and no one has the patience to wait
on a rebuilding effort like they want it now and

(05:29):
they want it each and every year, which is really
an unrealistic expectation.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Can I give you my kind of three layers deep
thought on this of Okay, I say you're one of
these teams that actually has stability. You're not making a change.
I midst all this massive change. Man, I'll tell you
what you know. I know they didn't win, but LSU, Florida,

(05:54):
potentially Auburn, Penn State. There's a lot of players at
those schools. So here's my thing. Everybody's gonna say, well,
who you get from the portal, you get from the portal.
I'm like, that's that's not the right thinking. The thinking is,
can I go get the D line coach that just
got to let go at Florida or Elish. I don't
even know where they are, but maybe I can bring
in that guy who has all the relationships with these

(06:16):
guys who, by the way, are gonna go into a
new school. But guess what, I got similar coach. I
know I'm in a similar They're gonna be teaching me
the same technique. I'm not gonna be behind. From that standpoint,
there's familiarity there. I would think some shrewd like calculated
teams are gonna be like, man, okay, you're worried about
the players. I'm gonn go snatch some of these coaches.
Then then that will help me get some of these players.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Yeah, Look, I think it's really interesting because what's going
to happen out of all of this. There's gonna be
so much movement that it's not only like after you
get past the first wave. Right, Let's say Lane Kiffin
is part of the first wave of coaches that has
to go EJ. I have to have this conversation because
I'm sitting here and I'm looking at if James Franklin
is adamant about getting back in where does he go?

Speaker 3 (06:59):
And he goes back to the SEC.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
But I'm saying, what if he decides to go to
Virginia Tech because he has all those relationships that he
can have.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
That job yesterday. I mean, he can have that job
any day of the week he wants it.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
I'm just saying, like someone who was a tried and
true recruiter, and we can talk about like a he
didn't win the big Game or whatever whatever that is.
I just think that there's going to be a place
for the guys who like, after you get past that
first wave, you're gonna want to have an experienced coach
that has some pelts on the wall, that has been
able to win. And so he and some of these
other guys that are being dismissed. I think some of

(07:33):
these guys that get fired are going to end up
landing in other spots.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Oh y, the.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Initial reputation like, oh, he wasn't good enough at our spot?

Speaker 2 (07:42):
Yeah to me, Yeah absolutely. James Franklin, I'm looking at this.
I think like if Auburn were to pop open, I
think he'd be How would you not hire James Franklin.
What he's accomplished. They'd take that at Auburn all day,
every day, that type of consistency, I would think he
would definitely be in play there. I think he'd be
in play if old Miss, if Lane left, would make
a lot of sense. Not to mention, I think you

(08:04):
could have Virginia Tech, UCLA, Stanford, any of those jobs,
Oklahoma State and I mean he have any of those jobs.
Who's going to be a better candidate than him that's
going to be interested in that?

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (08:13):
No, I mean, look, I'm curious. I'm just curious how
all these are going to play out.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
The other thing is I do think that you know,
we're talking about the track record head coaches, the name
that a lot of people talk about who's been you know,
the success story that everybody could be hunting for. The
next one is Dan Lanning. Okay, he was the He
was a top assistant under one of the under one
of the greats there under Kirby. So that who brought
the energy in the organization combination and he's got Oregon

(08:41):
rolling almost say that is that Will Stein is at
his offensive coordinator there at Oregon. Like who is that next?
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
They have to get raided at some point, right, Like
they've been so successful tucked away and people have had
Chip Kelly had success and all that, but Dad landing
the energy the vibe is a bilt because and I've
said this in talking to guys who worked under Nick Saban,
and I talked to Mike Loxley, and I've told you
about the conversation we had and he said, like the

(09:11):
blueprint works, but you have to do it in your
own personality and when you talk about and you look
at the things.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
That are out there.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
On Dan Lanning process, the reflection, he does some of
the stuff for my favorite author, John Gordon, where they
talk about the reflection after each game. He has a
new school spin on the process that was very successful
for Nick Saban, Kirby smart.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
I do believe you're onto something.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Hey, who's the man next to the man that can
get us that stable program that we want. But maybe
they inject a different energy that makes us attractive and
appealing to kids and those things that is certainly going
to be in play.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
All right.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
If I gave you the choice, and let's just do
the three that are of the I would say the
top three that are already available right now, which would
be Florida, LSU, Penn State. Give me the Bucky Brooks
one two three would be the LSU Florida Penn State.
The reason why I would say LSU is there is

(10:14):
just so much talent there DJ.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
If you know it, we talk about it every time
the draft is there. Like the LSU job is a
plum job. The reason why I say Florida and I
know it appears to be dysfunctioned because there have been
some good coaches that have gone there and that got
it done. But I'm still thinking it's a great school.
It is right there in the heartland, like they have
tradition because I've seen and maybe it's the years of

(10:37):
seeing Spurrier and Urban and all these coaches do it there.
I think the Penn State job, to me is a
little tricky because we saw a different level and caliber
of athlete going there with James Franklin, because those guys
would show up at the combine and blow the testing
out the water. Are you gonna be able to get

(10:58):
the same guys there? I just don't no, because I
don't know how much of that is him and how
much is that is the school and the money in
those things. So that's why I have them third, even
though I recognize their tradition and dispesionists of that place,
That's why I have it ringked Third, what's your three?

Speaker 3 (11:13):
How would you order?

Speaker 2 (11:14):
I would have the exact same order. And the reason
LSU LSU is owns the state of Louisiana. I mean,
if it's around those kids grow up wanting to go there,
that is that is there. I mean, Florida has got
there's high school talent out the wazoo. But you're competing
against Miami and Florida State like there's nobody, None of
those schools own the state of Florida. Like that's all.

(11:35):
That's a that's a fight. And you got Mario Christobal,
who's an absolute maniac as a recruiter, so you're fighting
for those kids. Now, there's plenty of them to go around,
So I get all that, But to me, I think
ls you would be a little easier from that standpoint.
And look, penn State owns Pennsylvania. I mean, any kid
that grows up in Pennsylvania, that's that's their their spot.
So I understand that. I just think from the pool

(11:57):
that I'm pulling from the history the program success, I
think it's infinitely attainable there. Everything is there and just
I mean, shoot, I think this is the first coach
and what the last three that has to do? Last
three championship and who.

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Hasn't won it within the first four to five years?

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Yeah, they all saving less Miles Ozier run all did
it within the first five years of their existence. So
it has been proven that you can win it there.
Now can you sustain it and are you there for long?

Speaker 3 (12:25):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
I think that has to be how you ingratiate yourself
to the community and the players. But there's a lot
of greatness that exists down at LSU, and I think
the same a similar blueprint works at LSU that works
at Florida.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
I think you throw your arms around it.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
You got to embrace the tradition that's spurrier and urban
and look, man, even Dan Mulla has success there. Like
there's a path to victory there. You just have to
be able to do it. Penn State is just different
because I think one, you have to recruit nationally.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
You have to get in the.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Dmv DC to get people to go up there because
it's tucked away away from everything. You have to be
a hell of a recruiter to make that place pop
and continue to pop.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
You have to hear you used to see if whoever
they bring in their approaches the success that they had,
I mean, and so that it was like eleven wins
top ten. Just write it down.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
I mean, I don't know careful what you wish for.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
It's all I'm getting.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Named that they're talking about, that that is being floated
sometimes you talked about next to the man Brian Hartline. Now,
the only thing Brian Hardline is terrific coach, excellent recruiter.
But man, that is a big job to get. That's
a big job. Not saying he's not prepared for it,
but that is a big.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Job, no question. So we'll see what happens with him,
But really interesting time here in college football. Let's take
a quick break. We get back, we will, We'll jump
into some of these games we missed the other day
and kind of clean up the Sunday right after this.
All right, buck, let's rip through a couple of these,
just a couple thoughts here. Buffalo Carolina man Rice Young

(14:05):
Appreciation Day. He didn't play, and they scored nine points,
lost forty to nine to Buffalo. Look, McMillan made a
couple of plays for them, but Buffalo kind of did
whatever they wanted to in this game, do whatever.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
They wanted, and Buffalo Sean mcdermin's either nine to ten
and oh after bi weeks he said, if I knew
the recipe in the formula, I would do it all
the time.

Speaker 3 (14:24):
I would just say this.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
The Buffalo Bills, coming off a week when they did
a self check, they got back to who they are.
They ran the football, They ran it early, they ran
it Offen, they ran it with James Cook, they ran
it with Josh Allen. And that sets the table for
everything else do they do?

Speaker 3 (14:40):
To me? Their best defense is their offense.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
They're good enough personnel wise on defense to be middle
of the pack but they need their offense to help
them by playing keep away. When they're able to do that,
they're the team that we always talked about being right
there with the Kansas City's and the other teams that
we used to seeing in the Final four.

Speaker 3 (14:58):
Now.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
The impressive thing to me was that game, and it
was early. They jumped on him right away with James
Cook going off against the defense, and Carolina actually got
a lot of nice pieces there, So that was impressive
from that standpoint. The fact they were so physical stood
out to me. But also I think I'm not joking
about the Bryce Young. I think maybe get a little
bit of reprieve there, a little bit from the pressure.

(15:18):
They had won some games with him lately, and I
know it's not the most dynamic offense, but it looked
better than what we saw that it looked like without him.
I don't think that's debatable.

Speaker 3 (15:27):
Yes, not debatable.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
And Andy Dalton didn't have a great day just to
turnovers and all of that. So yeah, I think it
is a bit of a Bryce Young appreciation day. You
understand what you have in him, you continue to build
around him. He and Tedoroy McMillan and some of the
young guys the running game, which he didn't really get to,
which was kind of weird.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
But yeah, they have some pieces in place.

Speaker 1 (15:47):
It's a good slice of humble pie that they can
digest and then try and find a way to be
a better team because the good thing is Tampa one.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
But the rest of the vision is still right there
for no doubt. Let's get to the next one here.
Houston just kind of out physical beat up San Francisco
in this game twenty six to fifteen. I was interesting
watching this because I haven't seen Houston in the playoffs
last year. The two things obviously that stood out. Number
one was the easy one was the d line and
how well they dominated the line of scrimmage against charges

(16:17):
in that playoff game. Knew that was. You know, that's
as good as it gets with their front. But the
other thing in that game, if you remember ce J
Stroud took off and used his legs for some big conversions.
He had four first down runs in this game. Two
of the month sneak's okay, but the other one you
get a free runner he makes miss and creates something.
Another one he just he's in the pocket. It's a
clean pocket, but he sees an opportunity to use his

(16:38):
legs and goes and takes it. That's a key part
to me. I wish he would tap into that a
little bit more. I saw it in the playoffs and
I saw it in this game.

Speaker 1 (16:45):
Yeah, sneaky athletic in terms of being able to buy time,
get away from it, create extra opportunities because he runs
away from the passers.

Speaker 2 (16:53):
That stuff is dear.

Speaker 1 (16:54):
I think the thing that you talked about early when
you described his game, that is his Houston Texans recipe.
They are at their best when they're the bullies on
the block. Would they lean into that ultra aggressive defense
and personality and physicality and everyone knows it.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Man. The San Francisco forty nine ers are the limits test.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
They're gonna let you know who you are when it
comes to your physicality and that stuff, and the Texans
match that. The other thing is can they take that,
wrap that up and replicate it each and every week
because if they do that, they become a horrid out
and they can kind of crawl their way back into
the division race.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Even though Indianapolis has raced out to a seven and
one start.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Can I give you two things that they need to
do in Houston. Two things they need to do. Number
one is trade for Brice Hall, and number two is
then go out and find a way to get Charlie
Kohler from from the Ravens so you can just unleash
the Iowa State offense right now. They've got Jalen Mole,
They've got gins, They've got three Iowa State receivers. I mean,
just go get the w rest of them. Go get it,

(17:57):
Breece Hall, throw them in the backfield, Coler throw a
tight end.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
But I think I think what they have a great
appreciation for is Joe Mixon and what he brought to
their offense.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Last year.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
They tried to bring Nick Chubb in, but Joe Mixon
gives them their steady Eddy presence in the run game,
and they need that and they're gonna need that as
they get into these very competitive contests down the stretch.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Well, congratulations to who's playing receiver at Iowa State this year.
I haven't checked in on it yet, but he'll be
at Houston Texans next year. They just love their Iowa
State gags. Man, how about this beat down New England
thirty two to thirteen. Buck, I gotta tell you, man,
I don't know if you're if your social media team
at Carolina was able to tweet this week. I didn't
check in on it, but my man is playing some
good football. Drake mays it like it's and I talked

(18:40):
about this a little bit with Baldy. Their schedule when
you pull it up, I mean, they aren't hitting the
brakes anytime soon. They're gonna win games that he's gonna
put up big numbers.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
He's gonna put a big numbers. So a few different things.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
When it comes to New England and Mike Rabel and
those guys, I think Mike Rabel has mastered the same
thing that you said, Nick sire Yanni and the Eagles
have mastered in terms of there's a way to play
the seventeen game schedule and then there's a different way
to play the postseason and playing the regular season schedule.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
More games are lost than one.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
If we do a handful of things each week, we're
going to be right there to win the game at
the end. I would say, yeah, the Patriots brought us
some new people, but the biggest thing is they have
a coach that really understands that and they adhere to that.

Speaker 3 (19:23):
Philosophy, which is why they're winning games.

Speaker 1 (19:25):
The second part of it, I had to write this
week in the notebook about Hey, let's redraft twenty twenty four,
and you know, you have to come down to the
quarterback situation, and so which quarterback would you take at
number one? Would it be Drake Made, Jayden Daniels or
Kathy Williams. And it was really hard for me because
I am the biggest Jayden Daniels fan. But when I'm
looking at Drake May right now, clear, it is hard.

(19:48):
And I'll say this during the draft process, sometimes you're
too close to the situation because I watched every snap
of him at Carolina and all those things. Sometimes those
warts that you see as a fan can cloud yourate
evaluation as a scout. This dude is the prototypical franchise
quarterback that everybody would want. He's big, he has great touch,

(20:11):
timing and anticipation, has the arm that you want, is athletic.
I would say the point that maybe people don't know
about him. He has a dog personality in terms of
his competitiveness, and the team takes that on. There's a
lot to love about Drake May and the more he plays,
the greater the appreciation from the football world.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Yeah, he's impressive. Man, there's on time rhythm, throws there,
move him, they boot him. Does a nice job there.
You see touch up and down, throws, deep balls. I mean, well,
I don't know what else there is left to see. Man,
he's doing everything.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
The only thing that will I will say is if
you go back and look, he only played two years
of high school ball due to COVID, and then he
only played two years at Carolina, And what is happening
is the mature, the maturity, the growth, gets it up
with the physicality and Josh McDaniel's and great, whatever they've
done to crack the code, they've unlocked the and this

(21:06):
dude is playing like an absolute superstar.

Speaker 2 (21:08):
No doubt. He's been awesome. By the way, congrats Carolina
almost won a game last week. Man, that was fun.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
I mean it was it was fun. It was there.
It was heartbreaking, gut riching. But we're coming.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
It's only amount of time we're coming. Come on to stop.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
We're getting closer. We're getting closer to winning two weeks
in a row. The ball is going into the end zone.
We talked away. We just learned how to take care
of it. More wins, so more wins on horizon.

Speaker 2 (21:34):
You know you could have done though, you could have
you could have used Adobe photoshop and photoshop the football
back in his hands. You get an amage of that, all right,
Tampa Tampa, New Orleans, Tampa whole home twenty three to
three beat down.

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Yeah, I mean, look, this is it wasn't a masterpiece
on offense. So let's talk about Todd Bowles in the defense.
And what he does is he is a guy that
lives in the high pressure world.

Speaker 3 (21:59):
They do a lot of pressure was zone behind it
so they can have their eyes on it.

Speaker 1 (22:02):
They don't give up big plays and once helocks what
you're doing on pass protection, he's going to harass you.

Speaker 3 (22:09):
And that's what able to do.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
We did see Tyler Schett have an opportunity to get
in the game late. Didn't really change anything. But this
was all about their defense. Their office wasn't great, but
they did enough and they won the game because their
defense is lights out and they do that head into
a biewek.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
Chris Braswell did a nice job Anthony Nelson with the
pick in that game as well. So they had a
lot of different players A lot of different faces contributing
on that defense, So that's that's a good sign. I
love their culture down there. Man, they just play hard
and physical. Speaking of playing hard, physical, Indie smashing Tennessee
thirty eight to fourteen. I've saw that, and as you

(22:44):
have as well seen the the c Indy team. Man, man,
they're rolling.

Speaker 3 (22:50):
They're really good, and I don't know how long we
can deny them. They're probably I.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Don't think anybody that denies them now as not watching.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
The title contender, because their offense as every ingredient that
you need to be a championship team.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
They have a quarterback planing at an MVP level.

Speaker 1 (23:06):
You could say the same thing about the franchise running
back who's also planning at an MVP level. They have
playmakers galore on the outside, really good offensive line, and
an opportunistic defense with all three units phases offense, defense,
special teams working together, They're a hard team to beat.
And now that the confidence has started to grow and

(23:27):
going through the roof, this team believes that they can.
They look they deserve a seat at the table. Just
a well constructed roster team. And who knew that Daniel
Jones was the Lynchpin to unlock it, but it's been
unlocked in there snow.

Speaker 3 (23:40):
Going back for the Colts.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
You know how like the stories you hear about Ben
Affleck and Matt Damon, how when they were kids they
sit there and dream about what it would be like
one day and they end up writing good Will hunting
together and their kind of thing takes on sitting there thinking,
like last year in Minnesota, they sitting there like Daniel

(24:04):
Jones and Sam Darnold just sitting there saying, man, nobody
appreciates us, buddy, let's go, let's go. Let's go. I'm
gonna go take over Seattle, you go take over Indy. Yeah,
that's a Super Bowl next year. Yea, let's do that.
Let's let's make that happen.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
And they don't show on their way to being able
to do that.

Speaker 1 (24:19):
Look, but we talked about this, We talked about this
last year when it came to Daniel Jones. The best
thing that he did, he did a reset, went to Minnesota,
kind of cooled out, learned a lot from Kevin O'Connell
and those guys, And I bet you Kevin O'Connell and
then would love to have him there now because of
the way he's playing. He goes to Indianapolis with Shane
Styke and who has proven that he can really get
really good quarterbacks to play no matter what their style is,

(24:42):
he can find a way to get them going.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
And then he surrounded himself by a back. I think
he had self a wet no man.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
If I have a good running back behind me, like
I had a New York for Saquon Barkley, give me
a good offensive line, some playmakers. I can do a
lot by being the point guard and not having to
do it all. He's done that, but I'm still say this.
The best hire that they made in the offseason was
defensive coordinator lou and Aroumo. They are They went from
a simple scheme to have some complexity to it where

(25:10):
they can use these snowflake game plans to disrupt and
discombobulate these opponents.

Speaker 3 (25:15):
They're doing it. I mean, they are a problem and
they're going to continue to.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
Be a problem because they can run it, they can
throw it, and they can stop it on defense.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
That's all you need.

Speaker 2 (25:24):
Chris Ballard went from oh my gosh, this could be it.
This is his last exact so he's gonna be Yeah,
he might a good shot of being the executive of
the Year when it's all said and done. And you
know what the other thing is. And I think this
is a good reminder and it goes back to and
I'm not I'm not going to compare it Richardson to
Josh Rosen. But got a pivot, man, when you know

(25:44):
this isn't the guy stop holding on to it. I
don't if he's the first pick, the fourth pick, the
thirty first pick. They got to move on, man. You
can't once you know, you gotta move.

Speaker 3 (25:55):
Yeah, and you got to do it fast.

Speaker 1 (25:57):
How expensive it is, whatever, it looks like, it is
clear that they just needed the right guy behind in
the backfield to be able to get it done.

Speaker 3 (26:07):
And right now Daniel Jones is the right guy. Uh.
We able to negotiate that too.

Speaker 2 (26:13):
That no kidding, He's gonna be doing quite well. All right, Well,
there you go. This is a quick one today, but
a fun one. We will have RHTT on the next episode.
We'll do a little rookie draft. Well we'll look back
at last week's rookies as well, so be on the
lookout for that. See you next time. Right here on,
move the sticks

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
