Speaker 1 (00:00):
And now move the sticks with Daniel, Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
What's up, everybody? Welcome to move the sticks, DJ, Bucky
and Rhett with you and Buck. We normally start off
with some throwaway Indiana comment, but we're going to stay
in the state of Indianapolis because, Yeah, the Colts getting
a little jealous of all this love and attention that's
(00:22):
going to Sig and those natures, because they have just
made a monster trade right before we started recording. They
have They have shipped two first round picks and ad
Mitchell to the New York Jets for Sauce Gardner, who's
just coming off of a very recent contract extension. I
won't I won't lead the witness, Buck, I want to
get your immediate reaction here, rehtt follow them up?
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Okay, wow, block blustered deal And I say it is
fully known, knowing that salz Cardin had him played at
the level that he came in at the last year
and a half, had some struggles with penalties and those things.
But in spite of that, you talk about a two
time All Pro, a former Defensive Rookie of the Year,
a guy who has the length and athleticism to be
(01:06):
a shutdown corner, one of the rare players that you
can find on the island, teaming up with a team
that covets athletes with prototypical dimensions and a defense that's
run by a really creative schemer and lou An Aromo.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
I love it because the decoordinator is a former dB
coach and I think the first thing they're going to
do is try and find a way to clean up
sauceage technique to eventually help him get back to being
a guy that can shall those elite receivers. It signals
to me, and I think it signals to the entire team.
They are all in on making a push and this
(01:42):
takes their defense to another level because they've been playing
great football on defense, but now, man, they just go
to another level with a premier corner on the island.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Look, he's actually not allowing like a ton of completions.
He has one of the lowest completion percentages against in
the league at this point. But on the surface, it
did feel to me like WHOA, that's a lot, you know,
especially just seeing the two first and then to see
Adie Mitchell. Look, I know he had the had the
(02:13):
play that everyone's kind of remembering for him this year
with dropping the ball for the endzo in that whole situation,
But it felt like that was kind of becoming a
really nice little wide receiver room there, wide receiver quartet.
But I think they feel like, probably, you know, maybe
you can get through it with just Pierce, Josh Downs
and Michael Pittman, which kind of makes sense. But you know, again,
Adie Mitchell was a second round pick of yours what
(02:35):
two years ago now, So it feels like a lot
if I'm Garrett Wilson, by the way, I do feel
like I feel pretty good about this. I get another, well,
someone else to be there in that receiver room in
New York, even though the quarterback situation remains unsettled.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
But yeah, to me, I think, Bucky, the thing you.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
Said really hit it on the head, Like this is
a signal to this team, to this organization, to everyone
within it, we are going for it right now, right
obviously just suffered the second loss of the season, and
they see an opportunity and a window two pounds and
that's what they're doing.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
The more I looked at this, and it was shocking
when it first came down, the more it made sense
to me. And I'll start on the Colt side of
things here. Look, I don't think there's a juggernaut in
the NFL this year. I was asked this morning about
how many teams you think are legitimate Super Bowl contenders,
like you could see them winning it, and I'm like,
I think there might be eight to ten, which is
a pretty big number this time of the year. This
(03:35):
isn't a runaway freight train anywhere else. The Colts have
played as good a football as anybody in the league.
You make a case the offense has been the best. Defensively,
I think they're kind of middle of the pack, and
some of the metrics and the numbers here they were
seventh ranked defense, sixteenth in total defense, seventh most passing
(03:56):
yards per game. So to me, I saw this team. Yeah,
I saw this team in person, and I thought, Okay,
their offense as good as I've seen, but defensively, and
it was particularly in the back end because with the
Forrest Buckner and quit Pay and Latto, they've got guys
they can they can get pressure up front. It's a
back end issue, so it solves that problem. It's a
winnable AFC. I also think there's the you know the
(04:20):
fact that you look at a team that won it
last year on Sakwon Barkley and a running back, a premier, premier,
a plus running back in his prime. Well they've got
one in Jonathan Taylor. Now the question is how many
years left you have of that premier, premier back. So
I feel like this is the time to strike right now.
They haven't had to pay Daniel Jones big money yet,
which that's going to change after this season's over. If
(04:42):
they continue to have this type of success, they feel
like it's going to be a late pick in each
of the next two drafts. It's a go for it
move from the from the Colt side of things, and
I like it on the jet side. This is a
team that's been searching for a quarterback for a bazillion
years and this just gives them more ammunition to try
and solve that problem. And you know, they're having extra
(05:04):
resources now the next couple drafts, whether that quarterback they
believe is coming in this class or the next class,
or if Low and Behold they want to take their
shot in both of them, They've got the opportunity to
do that. And this is a team buck that's had
defensive talent, a ton of defensive talent, and hasn't been
able to translate into wins. So I think what you're
going to see is a team taking some of these
(05:24):
defensive resources trying to reallocate it. Because even if you
even if you're winning the same amount of games, if
you're doing it with a fun, explosive offense and a quarterback,
it just feels a whole lot different and there's a
lot of hope, Whereas if you're winning thirteen ten games
and you've got a dynamic defense and no quarterback, there
still hasn't a lot of hope there.
Speaker 3 (05:42):
Yeah. No, it's an interesting thing.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
And we talk about the quarterback class being able to
have the covered fully stocked in terms of having.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
The draft picks to be able to get one whether you.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
See it in twenty twenty six or twenty twenty seven,
that's what you want, and we've seen the recipe for
able to get a franchise quarterback is to make sure
that you always have two first rounders in your pocket
to utilize whenever you want to be able to move
up or down the board in the first round and
we'll see if this is the year where they're able
to get it done, if they feel like there's a
quarterback that is worthy of that, or if they just
(06:16):
kind of pause and wait, because remember Justin Fields was
on a two year deal. Even if they let them
play it out, it gives them the ammunition that in
twenty twenty seven they can go and get one. And oh,
by the way, that is when Summer saying that arch
Manning may come out as opposed to twenty twenty six,
So maybe just maybe it puts them in better range
to get the guy that they want.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
Man.
Speaker 4 (06:38):
I just again, we were kind of outlining DJ before
we jumped on right, the receivers that you'd have to
go through. I think that's kind of an interesting piece
of this thing as well for the Colts. When you're
kind of looking at, you know, at the contenders in
the AFC, right, I mean, you know, it's not like
(06:59):
a crazy group. I mean, especially the best receivers in
the in the conference are sitting there in Cincinnati and
we don't even know if they're going to make the dance, right,
But I think, you know, looking at New England with
Diggs and pot Douglas and BOUTI and trait May particularly.
You know, that's something to think about. I think Denver,
right with Courtland Sutton, we've talked about.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
You know. The other thing that I was.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
Curious about is Sauce has been at his best when
he's been a press corner, right when he's been physical
and kind of in your face still you know, wants
to be that way. How do you guys feel like
that fits with the way that lou Anaruma wants to play,
with the way that the Colts have been playing. I mean,
Tarvarius Ward isn't quite there in terms of like frequency
(07:43):
of getting up in press, but it certainly does it.
How do you feel like that's a that style that
he has as a fit Bucky for what for what
lou does?
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Well? I think the one thing about lewis he's really adaptable,
you know, the one thing that he he isn't married
to one style play, and I think his experience as
a dB coach would allow him to have a great
feel for how to play Sauce, how to put Sauce
in a situation where hey, maybe on Sauce in side
he presses, but the other guys play off based on
(08:13):
what they're comfortable in doing.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
I think the main thing is you want to get
Sauce on track.
Speaker 2 (08:18):
And the thing that he has shown that he's good
at is he is a press corner guy. He was
that Cincinnati, he was that early in the league. I
want to get him back to that. I want to
get his confidence back, and so if he prefers to
be up nose and nose, we're going to let him
be those to nose and then we will work around
what we need to work around in terms of getting
the other guys to play the responsibilities the way that
(08:39):
it should be drawn up on the board.
Speaker 1 (08:41):
Yeah, they they vary their coverage. I'm looking it up
as we're as we're talking here. So they are nineteenth
and cover one percentage, they're eleventh and cover two, their
tenth and quarters.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
So they.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
Quarters and one push and press coverage maybe on thirty
percent of the time based on the twos.
Speaker 3 (09:04):
Yes, I mean they cover two. You can lock that up.
Speaker 2 (09:06):
So they can do everything from that quartership where he's
nosed to nose and build it out and as he
gets back to being the guy that he was early
in the league, man, they canna be able to do
some combination things where they have him and man and
it looks like quarters in this quarter, quarter a half
or whatever it is they want to do with him.
I think there's a lot of freedom inflexibility in terms
(09:29):
of building that coverage around Sauce.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Also, this is a kid who grew up in Detroit,
so that's four and a half hour drive to Indy.
He's a Midwest kid, played at Cincinnati. Yeah, it's kind
of getting back to the home some somewhat for him.
So I'm sure he'll be about.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
It, you know.
Speaker 4 (09:42):
The other the other thing too is you know, Tavarious
Hoard has been hurt right since Week six, been on
intra reserve with that concussion that he had. That's something
the pregame warm ups, so you know, who knows what
that looks like, you know, and maybe there's maybe there's
some thought it might take a little extra time, you know.
And then I mean, this obviously isn't a band aid
(10:03):
for this year, like you were going to build a
defense around Sauce Gardner with you what you're giving up,
but it does, you know, provide a little bit of
flexibility here in the short term as well.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
Well, let's get some of these other trades here because
this is and I'm sure there's probably going to be
some that pop after we finish up. So if we
don't talk about it's because it hadn't happened yet. Buck
your Jags bring in a receiver Jacobe Myers for a
fourth and a sixth coming over from the Raiders.
Speaker 3 (10:25):
Your thoughts.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
But yeah, it might have been a worsthip secret in
the league based on some of the tweets that had
gone out, some of the conversations they were talking about
Adam Vesseli having known Jacoby Myers for a minute and
how there's a connection already there. Some said they may
have been some bro hugs and some handshakes that were
exchanged between Liam Cohen and Myers. Pre and post I
would say for the Jags, this is why it was
(10:48):
so important to get him. The team leads the league
and drop passes. You look at Jacoby Myers, his drop
percentage is one point eight over his career, So the
one thing that you know is he's going to catch
everything in the area.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
And for Trevor Lawrence, he needs someone that.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Is reliable and dependable on the perimeter with Travis Hunter
on IR. Brian Thomas Junior like he had eight drops
coming into the last game, Parker Washington being a guy
who had to handle Travis Hunter's responsibilities, they wanted someone
that was look man, steady Eddy, someone that is consistent
that they can do. And I will say this, Trevor
(11:24):
Lawrence was at his best when he had these three
guys on the perimeter. It was Marvin Jones, Zay Jones,
and Christian Kirk. And none of those guys were true
number ones, but all of them were reliable and consistent
when it came to catching passes. I think to unlock
the quarterback, you have to make sure that he has
someone that he can trust when he throws the ball
out there. This is a step in that direction.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
I begs the question as everybody's looking at this, going well, okay,
is this because Travis Hunter is hurt or just because
BTJ is going to be on the way out. I
just it is so quick to make that hook on
he was so good last year, insane and it has
not worked out. And Buck mentioned the drops, but like
to me and we'll see you know before this deadline.
(12:07):
I think that's a mistake. I don't think you so
low on a guy like that who's proven he can
play at a high level.
Speaker 3 (12:11):
I would agree with you on that, Buck.
Speaker 4 (12:13):
I'd ask you this, like, from a you know, from
a coaching perspective, is there at all a sense that
you know, maybe he hasn't connected with this with this
staffer scheme, you know, obviously a little bit different from
from what they had.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
A year ago, But.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
Is there any reason outside of just you know, not
playing up to what we saw a year ago that
might have pointed to what we're seeing right now.
Speaker 2 (12:36):
I would just say, like, sometimes when you have so
many success so soon, there's internal and external pressure to
build upon what you did last year. I think all
of us have had great games in our career and
we probably went into the next game trying to pick
up where we left off, and it creates this this
rush and this.
Speaker 3 (12:54):
This frenzy nature. I think some of that has been BTJ.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
I think the other thing is a new staff learning
what he does really really well.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
If you look at his game and you look at
when he's.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
Real comfortable and productive, to me, it's vertical and outbreaking
vertical routes down the field, outbreaking routes away from the
teeth of the defense. Right now, That's what he has
been most comfortable at in twenty twenty five. Now, it's
hard to say that I'm a number one receiver if
I don't do a lot of things over the middle.
(13:27):
But in the course of the season, as a coach man,
you got to meet them where they're at, and that's
where he's at.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
I don't believe that.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
They will be quick to pull the trigger just because
if you look at the body at work, and that's
what we do as scouts. We don't just look at
the last nine games. We hopefully look at the entire
career and see what he's done. Man, it would be
really soon to give up with someone who's been very,
very productive. It's showing flashes of being a guy that
can get to that elite level.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
No doubt.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
I'm just looking down on my phone here and seeing
that the Browns they're trading Joe try and Schoenka seventh
round pick in twenty six of the Bears for a
twenty sixth seventh round pick. Is that what we got here?
So do try on first round pick of the bucks Man.
I haven't really heard much all there, just a depth
(14:14):
piece trade there. I want to get to a couple
more of these because a couple of these I really
really like. Jalen Phillips goes to the Eagles for a third.
The Eagles just collect all these extra picks so that
they can make moves like this, and they get a
former first round pick in Jalen Phillips to add to
their edge rush group member Brandon Graham comes out of retirement,
so they've really tried to fortify that to get back
to depth. They like to play with those Alpha and
(14:35):
Bravo units. They want to roll out a bunch of
fresh guys throughout the game, so that made sense for them.
Rashid Shaheed, who's a big play merchant for the Saints,
a lot of speed, he goes to the Seahawks. I
like that because he's someone who doesn't have to touch
the ball a lot to have impact. You can still
run this thing through JSN. They're running a lot of
tight ends out there. Get Cooper Cup when he comes
back healthy. But you got somebody who can get vertical
(14:58):
and also has history with your off defensive coordinator, so
you know the fit works there. And then Draymont Jones
goes to the Ravens from the Tennessee Titans. I saw
him last week in person. He ran, He rushed really
really well. So remember they trade away to get the
safety help that they needed in Eloie Gilman. And now
they go back and get another pass rusher after having
shipped one out a month ago, and they bring in
(15:19):
Draymond Jones. So of those buck, is there one that
you like more than the other? Anything that stands out.
Speaker 2 (15:25):
To you, Man, is so funny because there's so many
of them. I like the Dramont Jones one because I
think he is a guy who has shown the ability
to be a real impactful player. And I just like
people have sweet tooth for certain people, you know what
I'm saying. They just had this sweet on him, and
I think Draymond Jones is just a perfect fit where
(15:45):
he's going. He's big, he's physically shown the ability to
not only dominate against the run, but to get to
the passer.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
It's exactly what they need.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
I mean, the trade to me is like, oh boy,
all right, Like we saw Sam Darnold quite possibly at
his best right in the first half of that game
against the Commanders, Cooper Cup down with an injury, but
Tory Tory Horton, you know, is there and I think
you just throw this speed element, which maybe is that
one piece that they really haven't had, that really don't have.
(16:18):
I guess even though you know Horton can get up
and down the field, but man, that that just provides
so much to me. It feels like you're providing even
more room for JSN.
Speaker 1 (16:27):
Top thousand percent. And they can go with heavy tight
end looks. They can, they can. They can give you
a lot of different personnel packages. Now full back they
throw out there, they can go out there and go
four wide. They can put two backs out there if
they wanted to. I mean they've they've got tight ends
that can block. They've gotten now Royo getting down Loyo.
I mean like they got a lot lot of weapons.
(16:48):
They got a lot of weapons. I get an exercise,
by the way, and we'll do this and then we
can move on to some of the rookie stuff in
our Coordinator of the week. But I just did this
exercise on the Seahawks because we you know, we talk
about them and seeing how Sam played and looking at
some of their guys. So just tell me if you
think this is a fair fight. I went back to
last year and if I said, like the seven most
(17:08):
indispensable players for the Eagles championship team last year. Right,
So if we looked at those seven guys, I wrote
down Saquon Lane Johnson, Jalen Carter obviously, Hurts Quinn, and Mitchell,
Zach Zach bond aj Brown those I pit those seven
guys with a couple extras would be Devonte Smith and Mylatta. Right,
So that's the top seven to nine. Then you look
(17:28):
at this Seattle team, Sam Jsn, Leonard Williams, Spyron Murphy
Cross at left tackle, Emon Wari Witherspoon. That's the seven
with Zabel and Abe Lucas is eight to nine. I'm
looking at that going if you're saying, is this a
championship caliber team? I think those the same weight class.
You know, you could argue this player of that player,
But I think this Seattle team if and Bucky You've
(17:49):
always talked about it. You know, you got to have
those seven to ten guys, you know, high, high level players.
Seattle's kind of got that, and I think he just
provides that depth piece. But they've got the headliners they
need to go win a super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
I mean, if you watch the Moon Sunday night, the
way they were just running past to commandage with their
wide receivers. The last thing you thought they wouldn't need
is another one to be able to do it. But
he gives them that explosiveness, and you're right, man, Sam
Donald is dealing. When I look at this team, I
already felt like the defense was at that championship caliber.
(18:24):
But offensively, man, they had the firepower to get it done.
Not only throwing it, but you can't forget about how
good they have been running the football. They'll well construct
the team, and I feel like this is an arms
race between them and the rest of the NFC West,
And as they're trying to kind of get pole position
to keep the Rams at bay with the Niners looking
in the background, I think on paper you can talk
(18:46):
about it being dead.
Speaker 3 (18:47):
Even and I think they have two matchups with the Rams.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Yeah they haven't played them yet.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Yeah, they have two matchups to get this done. This
is them really loading up for that battle.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
All right, let's pause, come back at the coordinator of
the week and get our rookie, our rookie draft done
here right after this. All right, guys, it's time for
Hot or Not, brought to you by with Sabby Hot
cloud storage. This is something we do each and every
week we identify a coordinator that that needs to be
highlighted doing an excellent job. This week, Buck and I
(19:21):
we bestowed the honor on Rhett to be able to
select our coordinator of the week. So, Rhett, I don't
know if you have the bio in front of him
ready to go, but I will give you the floor
for our move the sticks coordinator of the week.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
Yeah, we're gonna look. I think first off, we'll just
we'll give some honorable mention. I thought we talked about
it a little bit with the Seattle piece there a
Klick Kubiak could probably earn it this week with what
he did with the Seahawks and that win on Monday
night or excuse me, on Sunday night, But he was
just our coordinator a week couple of weeks ago, so
I wanted to get another name in there. So we
ended up giving it to Panthers defensive coordinator at Gerald Everro,
(19:56):
who you know is in his second season as a
defensive coordinator.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Now.
Speaker 4 (19:59):
The Carolina Panthers just came off a big win in
stifling that Green Bay Packers offense this past week. For
the Panthers who are above five hundred right now. Has
been a really nice turnaround there in Charlotte, and this
is his second goal as a defensive coordinator. Came over
from the Denver Broncos in twenty twenty two and has
(20:20):
been now with the Panthers since twenty twenty three. Was
also with the Rams, so got a pretty heavy dose
of Sean McVay from twenty seventeen to twenty twenty one
as the secondary coach and passing game coordinator, and then
actually really really kind of began his coaching career as
it currently sits now in twenty sixteen when he went
(20:43):
to the Green Bay Packers as a defensive quality control
guy for defensive coordinator Dom Capers, who he really credits
as a guy that elevated his career, elevated his understanding
of the game. I actually talked about it here recently,
and when he went to Denver, brought Don Capers with him.
When he came back to Carolina, brought Don Capers back
(21:04):
with him as an assistant, you know, to kind of
help him. And he talked about getting a PhD in
football from Dom Capers, and that to me just brings
me back to the to the old New Orleans Saints
don't patrol defenses when Dom Capers was there with Steve
Sidwell and so many of those terrific coaches who have
their fingerprints on defenses throughout the league, and so just
(21:25):
watching what what Evro has done here with this group.
You know, Derek Brown is playing, you know, at an
extremely high level. They're getting some really good play at
a Nick scot and a rookie. You know, I think,
I think to the secondary Trayvon Merrick has been a
nice acquisition from them, coming over after Jeremy Chin left,
and you know, obviously you get a top light corner
(21:45):
in j. C.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
Horn.
Speaker 4 (21:46):
Just feels like they're starting to put some pieces together
and just found a pretty good, uh, you know, find
a way to slow down or really potent offense in
the in the Green Bay Packers enough to keep what
was it, let's see, actually, I mean kept it with
thirteen points. Pretty pretty dang good in that sense and
limited them to under four hundred yard three and sixty
yards of total offense. You know, for what they had
(22:08):
been doing. Felt like that was pretty good. Earning a
Jiro Everro the or the Coordinator of the Week Cara
the stacks.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
So I don't know if you were still in the game,
uh DJ, But I don't know if you remember ever
as a player UC Davis.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
But he was gone in there. Yeah there was that
what you ma eons ago?
Speaker 3 (22:25):
I don't know. I just remember going through there.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Yeah he was well he was in a city. Yeah
he played there. Yeah, I would have yeah overlap three Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:35):
Yeah, yeah, right right when I I just started, I
remember him as a player.
Speaker 3 (22:39):
So it's it's always funny. I mean it ages you,
like like you're like, hey, man, I see.
Speaker 2 (22:44):
But yeah, like to think about what he has become
and give them a lot of credit because they struggled
so bad last year, but to hang with them and
to see what this defense has become. Uh, I can't
imagine that, like really going into your thinking that at
some point the Carolina Panthers and the Kansaity Chiefs would
have the same record. But here we are. And when
(23:04):
you look at their defensive talent and the way that
they're going about it and the way that they're running
the football on offense, I mean you can squint and
kind of close your eyes and see a path. You
can see a path to the playoffs for the Pan
and now they get it.
Speaker 1 (23:20):
I mean you can do it. Yeah, no question full disclosure.
By the way, while Rhett was talking that whole time,
I was just preparing for my rookie draft because we're
closing it on them, and I was just trying to
make sure that I was locked in. But that was
an excellent presentation, or so I heard. That was this
week's Hot or Not segment, brought to you by with

So here's where we are with the rookies. I was
a little bit nervous that Rhet was getting ready to
run away with this thing. He's in a great spot.
But he did something that I didn't know was humanly possible.
(24:24):
Last week, he lost a point to Bucky's selection who
did not play in the game. Travis Hunter did not play,
which got him zero points.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
Oh Jayla Laane, what are we doing?
Speaker 2 (24:37):
What?
Speaker 3 (24:38):
Nole?
Speaker 1 (24:39):
Noel got Rett minus point three points. When you put
the ball on the carpet, that's what that's what happens.
So Bucky got it, managed to get a point where
the player who did not actually play in the game.
So Bucky came away with seven points because genty was
big for him. And then Lovelin had a monster game.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
I mean, you.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
Better go buy a lottery ticket, brother, if you predict
Bolster Loveling to go off like that.
Speaker 3 (25:02):
He was waiting on this.
Speaker 2 (25:03):
Point getting at some point you had to know that
first round pick is gonna get his chance, like we
gotta go.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
That's that's just timing and feel, that's all that is.
Bucking nailed it. So Bucky gets a massive seven point week.
I got four. Rett just absolutely in the crapper with
one point now still in the lead. I'll give him that.
He's got thirty nine points.
Speaker 3 (25:23):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (25:24):
I'm at thirty six bucks at thirty three. I mean,
I mean the old phrase buck objects in your mirror
closer than they appear, like that, rets can see us
kind of closing in on line. And then I looked.
I looked because this is why I was doing my homework,
because I got the first pick. I got the first pick,
and there's a lot of different ways I can go.
I want to know who can we get? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
(25:47):
yeah yeah. We got the bye teams. The bye team
is not going to really matter. Tennessee, Well, Chimere Dka.
You could take him off the list Tennessee, Dallas, Casey, Cincinnati,
so not gonna have a big impact there, Shard Smith
off the table. But I want to take Tyler Warren
just because he's been the catalyst for so much of
(26:07):
Rhet's success. I would like to just remove him from
the equation.
Speaker 3 (26:11):
That's why I am living in your head.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
I love this, right I am, But that's what But see,
that's the one side of my head, if you just
cut it in half, that's the one side. The other
side has been watching what Aronde Gatston has been doing
for the last four weeks, and you got the Steelers
coming into town, and I know they've got you know,
they've put some resources back there with Jayalen Ramsey moving
full time to safety. But you've got an offensive line
(26:35):
that's suffering through some injuries and who gives you quick,
easy completions, slot receivers and tight ends. So I am
going to go with the charger. I'm going to go
Ronde Gatston the first pick this week. Yep, he's on
a heater. He's on a heater, so I'm jumping on him.
That gives Bucky the second pick.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
Well, I mean, if you can go to Randy Gassen
right away, I feel like you need to join the
train when it comes to tight ends, just.
Speaker 3 (27:00):
To take Tyler Warren right. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
If the way, we're learning how to box out, Carol
back with the bigs, we're boxing out.
Speaker 3 (27:09):
Hey, did you see by the way.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
I was watching that. I was watching that Arizona game
and I'm like, surely this guy's related to Andrew's pete.
He looks just like him. And then that that dude
for for Arizona went for thirty first game as a
freshman five star recruit, and then I looked up as
bio as Andrew's Peat's little brother. So I was like, okay,
yeah that makes sense. A nice and nice player. All right,
I've we've got two tight ends off the board for
(27:31):
you there.
Speaker 3 (27:32):
What do you want to do? You get back to back.
Speaker 4 (27:33):
I'm certainly not going to take a tight end here.
So let's take a peek at where things stand with
the running backs right now.
Speaker 3 (27:43):
Gent I mean.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Archie Harvey had a pretty good week for me, just
not enough to pass Genty. He was just a couple
of pieces, a couple of points below genty.
Speaker 3 (27:54):
So I think what I'll do is.
Speaker 4 (27:59):
We got Jet John Judkins back into the phrase of
so many guys you.
Speaker 3 (28:03):
Need genty like we've played genty for right, Well.
Speaker 1 (28:06):
You picked him, he picked him last week one with
him and this is this is psychological warfare on this
draft right now.
Speaker 4 (28:15):
Oh it's a Thursday night, so I'll be on the
set for Thursday night and it'd be nice to watch that,
you know, a little spice for me. But against that
Broncos defense that feels less likely. Let's go Quinn Shawn
Judkins against the one and seven Jets is where I'm
going to go, uh for that pick there at running back?
(28:35):
So Judkins back in the saddle, and you know, like
it hasn't been flashy, but Tedrol McMillan continues to be
the most consistent rookie receiver out there, and so I
think I think that's where I want to go. Although
we get a Buka back this week. Gosh, Patriots are
(28:58):
so good.
Speaker 1 (29:01):
Mm hm.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (29:04):
Yeah, let's go Tetro and McMillan. Uh, let's go Tech McMillan. Yeah,
Tetro and McMillan. T mac you want to against the
Judkins and McMillan. Judkins and McMillan, Yeah, all right, go ahead, Buck.
I mean, look, I gotta go Ashton Genty. I mean,
like me, okay, we're playing the Broncos or not.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
I just sat there and saw Jim Kelly play a
video game against the Jaguars.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
But the only two people that touched the bot acid
Genty and Brock Bowers.
Speaker 2 (29:28):
And because Brock Bowers is ineligible for a Rickie draft,
I gotta go with Genty, all.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
Right, So I gotta go. I'm gonna go with Buka.
First of all, that's I thought he was ineligible. I
thought he was ineligible. I thought you didn't take him
a Buka. Yeah, I just thought you couldn't take him.
You're making you're making that up.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
You want you want to take him, take somebody else.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
No, I wanted a book because I'm gonna win these
two positions.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
I gotta.
Speaker 1 (29:54):
I just gotta feel comfortable with the back here. I'm
attempting to go. So Judkins gone, Genting's gone.
Speaker 2 (30:03):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
Bill Bill has not been good. Bill is Bill has
not been good. I mean, it's a young guy going
to keep this this uh.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
This train rolling here, I don't know this Swift's risk
you got to take? Uh give me Trevan Henderson, I'm
gonna okay, so passing up our j Harvey.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
Yeah, Henderson a good game two weeks ago. I'm gonna
go that. He's he's ready to go here. Okay, So
I've got I've got Gatson, Buca and Henderson big on
Ohio state. Here a couple of Ohio State Ohio stats
in the In the Syracuse orangement, what do.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
You go, Bucky? Bucky ended up with, uh, he's gotta
make another pick. Oh, you gotta go. I thought we
were making another I'm still locked. I don't even let
you guys.
Speaker 1 (30:51):
I don't want to let you guys. Finish out ahead.
Speaker 2 (30:55):
Man, I don't even know I can think what because
my guys out, I'm I'm scrolling.
Speaker 3 (31:01):
I'm scrolling. Is there anybody that.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Is screwed the poach not taking a Buka that just
that screwed the poach on that one?
Speaker 3 (31:09):
Well, I'm trying to play team ball and box out
my guy.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
Is there is there anything that says I have to
take Oh? Why I can't take too tight ends? No,
you have to take a receiver here. Let me let
me give you some other names. Hold on, let's look
at some names.
Speaker 3 (31:27):
I mean down here.
Speaker 1 (31:28):
Yeah, you've got I O man. Oh they're on a
buyer Tennessee's on a bias. You can't take him. You
can't take trevl Yeah, yeah, he's heard get Bond.
Speaker 3 (31:40):
I don't believe. Let's go. Let's go with Matthew Golden.
Believe that he needs man, he hasn't done anything. He
hasn't done anything.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
I've never seen someone with less confidence in their draft
than Bucky right now, finish us up?
Speaker 3 (31:55):
Yeah, give me love one. Yeah. Oh you don't even
like him.
Speaker 4 (31:59):
He's like play, don't don't, but we're gonna. I mean, shoot,
if he gets half that production.
Speaker 3 (32:04):
We're gonna win.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
See if Ritt can go negative again, we'll get it.
That's how we reel him in. We got a real
him in. So rhtt goes Judkins, mcmill and Loveland, Bucky
has Warren gent Golden. Uh and then I've got Gatz
and Abuka and Henderson.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
So there you go.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
There's our rookie draft for this week. Boys, anything else
you want to add before we get out of here today?
Speaker 2 (32:26):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (32:26):
Nice.
Speaker 4 (32:26):
We'll get here from from Drew down in the chat
talking about a little tidbit on the sauce trade, just
to finish up Alec Pierce and Sauce teammates at Cincinnati.
And you guys probably remember from the draft process talking
about Alec Pierce like he was calling out he wanted
Sauce every day, every rep, every practice. And now they
(32:47):
get to be teammates again. So that's that's kind of cool.
Makes for some fun, if fun practice reps out there
for those two.
Speaker 3 (32:55):
I like it.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
Fun little tidbit there.
Speaker 3 (32:57):
I remember that.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
All right, that's gonna do it for today. We'll be
guys have enjoyed a wild trade deadline. If there's any
more moves, we will get to those on the next episode.
We'll see you next time. Right here on move the
sticks
