Speaker 1 (00:02):
It's the Alley and Donovan Show featuring Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
Ali mar Pet and Donovan Smith. Now here's your host
Bucks team Reporter Casey Phillips. Welcome into the Alley and
Donovan Show, our Holiday edition. I brought the festivities here
and I figured it's all right because I wanted to
(00:25):
surprise you with your festivities. So we got gifts guys
in a fancy, fancy bag. Here first for you, sir,
Why why do you oh just wait, why don't Why
don't you see what you gotta here? Hold it up?
Hold fire? Snowtorious? Did I do? Get it? Whet? This
(00:54):
a lot of googling, a whole a lot of googling.
The largest size they carried, which is the lex stress
it out? So yeah, wy don't you Why don't you
take like throw the song. We're gonna we're gonna try
and hear so you Unfortunately, here's yours sir. Why do
you get the nice color? Well, because he's truish and
(01:16):
that's how this works. Ye, come on, baby, Yes, that's
that's all right. You know, team mom role, This is
my this is my role getting the guest. Look at this.
It's very slimming that you know, black is the slimming color.
(01:37):
Throw the throat on man. We also we're gonna feel
like the bulging that situation here you do? You fit
that on over a hoodie, which is very impressive, so
it'll probably there you go. So triple X would have
been the ideal. Correct, Yeah, none, I found none holiday
sweaters that were triple X. That's part of the big
it is. Look at that you are so festive. Come baby,
(02:00):
light my minora. It's pretty cool. That's not yeah, he
sweaters they stretch right, look at us, we're so festive.
We should take a holiday and this is no. I
feel bad and now I feel like you need to
get you something. I mean, if you would to choose
to do that I would. I would not hate that idea.
But that's all right. That's when she she guilted us
and be getting her. Okay with that, give me a
(02:26):
double sweater as well. I'm really thank you. I have
been known. This actually is a kid's shirt to wear
right now. That's not a joke from this is an
excel kids. What I'm rocking, guys. So let's start here
with some some holiday traditions. Now we're all in the
festive mood. Tell me some of the ways that you
guys celebrated the holidays growing up. Oh man, just a
(02:48):
lot of family games, sitting around playing games. Now we
see what we've been good at the month here. Yeah,
we used to watch ABC, so you're not around this time.
They have like the the movies, the Claymations and everybody
come on at night. So you still watch the ABC
ABC Family they have like four days. Yeah, they have
(03:10):
all them Christmas movies and stuff. So we watched, but
I still do that. I don't think I got you
passed that stage in your life apparently somewhere in there.
What about you? What are some things you guys did
to celebrate for Christmas? We were usually actually in Jamaica,
so we didn't have really uh white sand. We draw
(03:34):
Christmas tree or like a palm tree little thing and
it's your Christmas tree. Fancy. What about the Hanakah traditions?
Did we actually like the manora and do? Yeah? Do that?
So we were talking you you really like milked the presents?
So what happened? Yeah? So I would would do hank
with my dad. We do Christmas with my mom and
then we also did Christmas with my dad because he
(03:57):
like Christmas? Yeah, why don't you think of this when
we were really made out pretty good? Yeah? Like, so
would you get gifts all the days of Pica and
then also good stuff on Christmas? Yeah? I means were
usually little and then he better for Christmas little trinkets
and whatnot, gets little trinkets and whatnot. Were you guys ever,
(04:20):
you guys both have several siblings, Were you ever jealous
of what your siblings got is gifts? When you'd be
opening things, was like to hang what would they have?
I had a habit when my parents would ask like
what would I want for Christmas or whatever, of not
saying anything like I'm okay, and then they get me.
They get my siblings like more stuff and not actually
(04:41):
be kind of jealous. Why wouldn't you tell them I
really know what I wanted and it was and then
until a good stuff like that's what I wanted. I
wanted that, that's actually pretty cool. I just took their stuff.
Older brother used it. Were you bigger than the other siblings?
(05:01):
How the peck and how did that play out? For
a little bit? I actually was not my brother's actually
you know he's a nice size. And then and then
I kind of just like hit a spurt in middle school.
I think it was so when you were younger, you
weren't like bigger than everybody because they are they older.
I'm trying to I'm the baby baby, Okay, you and
(05:22):
your twinter the baby, I'm the baby, and they're all like,
so you couldn't just beat him up and get your
way exactly. And then when I got some size to me,
that's when I started flexing off, flexing my muscle, you
feel me, started started wearing my brother clothes, wearing his
sneakers the school before he got home. Take him off,
(05:45):
wipe them off. They've never been worn. Mind you, three
sides and smaller than me. Did he know this is happening?
Not for a while until one day finding out? Right now? Yeah, fail,
family secrets right here on the show pretty much. How
about how you guys celebrate here? And do you guys
do stuff like with teammates with the team here for holidays?
(06:08):
Oh yeah, yeah, we we do pretty big. So typically
it just depends on position groups in the locker room.
But I know for the offensive line, you know, we'll
either pool together money and then you know, we'll look
out for people around here in the building and the
staff and stuff that's like help us because you know,
everything is like a machine in this building, and everyone
(06:30):
helps out someone in some way for us to do
our jobs. So it's just the way that you know,
I appreciate you for gifts for ross. Oh yeah, we
used to do a Yankee swap like type of deal. Um,
but that sucks because we were always younger. Yeah we
would probably do it, but I mean, you guys were
making as much money, but well we weren't able to
(06:51):
ye like the older guys steal from. It wasn't like
a random order you drew. It was like if I'm older,
I can see it really was like the big brother,
just like I will take your face trying to stop that.
Now we're just doing a secret sant Okay, so who
do you guys have? UM? So the person that I have, UM,
(07:15):
you know, he plays on the offensive line. We have
the quarterbacks. So it's quarterbacks and O line together and
we're going to have a whole little dinner Thursday and
secret santar. We should wear the onesies or something. I
don't know where you're going to find enough one. Well,
(07:37):
y'all can wear these now. Look at that. I actually
think about that. You're hoping you can? You see my
snowman good? Let me make sure you. I feel like
young Jeezy out here. When I saw that online, I
didn't know. I was like, this is for Donovan. This
is perfect for the people who don't understand. This is
like notorious b I G. But it's like we can
(07:58):
throw up a photo next no tour. Yeah, he got
a picture just like this right right here, right here,
right here. I could. I could. I couldn't work in
the weather doing the weather. I'd be all messing. I
can wear this for Christmas. I wish I had next year,
(08:19):
next year. We're just playing it ahead, all right. We
still have any more coming up on The Alien Donoman Show.
Don't go Anywhere. Welcome back to the Alien Donovan Show,
and it is time for a big man struggle. We
haven't done one of these in a while. We kind
of already did. Won the first segment with the sweaters
that where I was ordering sweaters from, there were no
(08:41):
three X ugly sweaters anywhere to be found on the interwebs.
People that make make clothes out there, Help them out,
Help them out, so the other big man strong I
wanted to bring up comes courtesy of Mr Donovan Smith.
And I remember on the radio show a few years ago,
we learned Santa uh was not a fan of letting
(09:02):
big old Donny sit on his lap, even as a kid.
And we happen to have photographic evidence of this from
whom from sources. Again, I don't give up the sources.
So here we go. We're gonna throw that photo up outstanding. Yeah,
there wasn't no part of that. Look how tall he's
having to be to look the sin is also look
(09:31):
a little disturbed, the fear in the eyes. You're a
big human baby. Why are you here? I think that
like one of those pictures, I was in like sec
those I was in elementary school in both those pictures.
You're huge you I was an elementary school both those pictures.
(09:52):
Oh my gosh, because I remember taking a picture. You
used to walk down the steps and then you used
to go into the auditorium and then it has Santa
tough off into the left. You had sat at your school. Yeah,
he didn't have it, did you remember? I think maybe
when I was a little hey, shout out mg Ros
(10:12):
mg Rose Elementary school. You can't. You guys had some
Santa Claus. You had some questionable Santa clauses. It was black.
Why it was because the face he gave you. But
he got a tan before he came to us. Were
you like heartbroken as a kid when this happened? Like?
Were other kids? Were you seeing other kids sit on
(10:33):
his lap? And then he just saw you? And I
was like, Nana, Yeah, it was just so weird. I
was just like, all right, He's just like, yeah, stand
up right here, and I'm like, I forget you that.
You just gotta think about how many kids he saw
before you. You know that's true. And then riding the
slaves and all that, right Delves, No, no, he left
them back in the off ball. He was bigger than
the oils. Anyways, they got a little thing in there.
(10:55):
Did you Did you sit on santa'slau? And he was
okay with that? Were you you weren't as big as noo? Yeah?
I think I actually don't even remember if I did,
like last year, but I think it was the first
top and he did sit on his lap last year,
So I feel like this is not great for what happened.
Can we get a picture of that it's somewhere. Yeah,
we can we can't find that set that up there.
I like that. All right. Well, coming up next, we
(11:15):
have some more special meals coming to you. It's time
for What's Cooking, presented by Tico People's Gas. And I'm
here with Chef Mike, who's going to teach us how
to make an awesome meal using the power of clean
and energy efficient natural gas. So Chef tell us what
we're gonna make today. Well, we're gonna have a little
(11:36):
mahi mahi with a lemon burblant, which is a lemon
butter sauce, kind of prepped everything up, some fresh lemons
with the zest, some dice shallt some butter, and we
have some white wine. Awesome, Let's go back and let's
do it. Let's end in the kitchen. So now we're
back here in the kitchen. What's the next step. So
we're gonna start the sauce. First thing, kind of start
(11:59):
get nice and high, still a little bit of olive
oil the bottom of the pan. And then we're gonna
start cooking the shallots. What we're just trying to do
is just get the shallots. It starts to turn a
little treeanslucent and soften up. And then remember over the
onion families, so they give it a little sweet flavor. Okay,
(12:19):
so that's cooking. We're gonna take an ad a little
bit of the lemon juice. We just don't want to
get any seeds in there. That's a brilliant technique. Why
have I ever thought of that? And then a little
white wine. What we're gonna let that do is once
it comes to a boil, and then we'll start slowly
(12:40):
adding the butter in. So we slowly add the butter
and we're just gonna want let that kind of melt
in to keep it moving. As it starts melting, you
can add the next piece. Don't even need to actually stir.
(13:01):
You're just keeping the fans with it. When it gets
higher up. If you're over, you're a fool. And she
use a little spoon or whip. So it's getting about
the right consistency. It's a little bit more butter for you.
It's a little bit more about the look than anything. Yeah,
you can look until the color starts to yellow a
(13:23):
little bit because from the butter and the milk bats
and mixing in right off and story at a little
bit of fresh zest and a little bit parts fresh parsley,
just to give it, you know, the final touch. And
(13:43):
then we're ready to play up for fish. So we
have a little rice M play the piece of fish
round top. I'm asparagus. Yeah, I'm a nice sauce right
(14:10):
on top of the fish. Wow. Oh it's amazing. Look
at that. Just like that. That was so easy. I'm
excited to make the guys try to see. I feel
like this is there. I'm going to take credit for this.
You okay with that? If I say that I made
it all, that's what you do. That's the key here. Yeah,
I do the same thing all the time. You don't
actually make anything here, do you know. I'm just I'm
just here for the looks. I love it. Well, that
(14:32):
was awesome, Thanks for teaching us. Thank you. Okay. So
I went in and cooked with chef. Not bragging, but
I feel like I dominated this and I know you
guys did a whole lot of cooking. So I'm gonna
need some judge. You guys have to eat everything that
(14:53):
y'all made. I'm gonna need some judgings. Not important. I'm
gonna be like, what's got to be cursing like everybody outward,
how can you make this? It's okay. I'll only cry
for a little bit of you insalted. But it's fine.
So there you go unveiled and yeah they're the same thing.
(15:14):
And oh yes, of course we have to protect Notorious.
We can't get any food on Notorious. Wow. Yeah, yeah,
well how much do you actually do that? Keep asking
that question? This actually looks pretty appetizing. So we got
(15:35):
some salmon's not there? You go. That looks fancy, So yeah,
go ahead break it down for us at least. Uh,
there's some food on a plate for you to eat
that I made salmon, I think so, mahy salmon, some
of those things. It's it is moy and m hm.
(16:04):
What is this? If you were on the I can't
tell if that means it's great or terrible. I don't know.
There's a lot of pressure you like it. I understand
how to deal on the food network. Right now, this
right here, I don't even know why you put this
in front of you. Oh you're doing a food network there,
(16:26):
I understand how if you don't know, I'm like sweating,
Why did you put this in front It's amazing? Yeah,
really good is a stretch better than anything I can make? Um, yeah,
(16:46):
that sounds about right, can't I hear much? How Yeah,
I'm sure it's I hope people don't have surround sound
in their homes. Turn it turn it down down, you know,
down for a few minutes here. Um, So rate it
compared to some of the things you guys made. Where
did I fall? I'm gooding where you s seven out
(17:12):
of ten and a seven with some salt as to it.
I actually made not one bit of this. I just supervised.
But that's because it's chef who goes food for you guys.
Once I knew there was bias, this is how I
(17:33):
understood the biased. See how they trade me. It's just devastating.
We'll be back with morally and on him the next
Welcome to the final segment. He did you just try
to snap and fail? My hands hurt like three bad Yeah,
(17:54):
until you try to snapping it out. Well, that was
the whole plan I had for the last second, the snapping.
So now I don't know what to do. Ah, yeah,
now you can take over that role. It looks like
you can't do that. Yeah, my knuckles hurt. You know.
At the end of the season. This is one of
the big travesties to plan online the end of the season.
You can't snap. Hands get fat, can you see it?
(18:17):
Hands get fat? You know you're throwing them all the time.
Your hands are swollen. Yeah, like a big girl. Like okay,
so he need to tell us this weekend. There is
no way to say out of that. There was nothing
in journalism school that prepared me giant, just the way
(18:41):
your hands are bigger. There's a big video board. How
was that? Was that bigger than bigger boom? Look at
that hashtag? Nailed it. I always laughed seeing the players
that are even on the sidelines sort of looking to
play right in front of them, they're looking up at
the drive video board. The last time, he goes, what
there were you all doing that? Yeah? I think I
(19:01):
was doing that. I was watching a game. I always yeah,
I always watched the game always because it's just a
better This one is actually not good to do that
because it's so high up. Yeah in Atlanta. Yeah, that's
a good point. Also, will you guys be dressing up
any sort of holiday festivities for the road trip itself?
To be determined? So yes, like, yeah, I noticed, I
(19:28):
remember like Gerald has dressed like Santa before, Like some
guys have like warned some holiday festivities that didn't the
whole litle line do something a couple of years ago,
like all Santa hats or something really determined to be
determined the blue suit every time, Well, that's going to
do it for us on this episode of Ali and Donovan.
Stay tuned next week final show. We'll see then
