Speaker 1 (00:02):
It's The Alley and Donovan Show featuring Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
Ali mar Pet and Donovan Smith. Now here's your host,
Buck's Team reporter Casey Phillips. It's time for the Halloween
edition of The Alley and Donovan Show. Captain America Superhero.

(00:23):
Oh yes, we needed to like jump in land in
and then Sloma walk towards the camera looking really cool.
Although it's still a little bitter you stole the shield.
I feel like Hulk will be better with the shield.
Hulk apparently had a temper tantrum and stole the shield
and little also, Hulk has a really great goatee. Yeah,
which brings us to our big man struggle of the day.

(00:48):
I tried to go buy actual costumes and there's a
reason all we have on our masks is they don't
exactly have costumes the size. They don't even have masks. Really,
you know how long I looked from the door, eyebrows
are literally sticking out of the eyehole. Friend, I like,
I wish that I could dress up? Yes, is this

(01:11):
a big man struggle that you really dislike? Every year
around Halloween? It it's a little a little bit of
a bitter time for you only, yes, probably one of
two things. You can be a doctor. Why that goes?
Oh my god, you put the lab code on, you know?
And then a clown like you get some clowns or

(01:37):
plus size like I don't. That doesn't make sense to them,
just big and talk carrying clown pastures. Every time he
needs to talk to us. He has to do this
big full because he's smiling. But you can't this whole time.
I just I just you know, we big mess struggle

(02:01):
big time. Isn't there something that also both of you
talked about you've really wanted to you're killing me right
now looking around and think that's right. You want to
both want to be power Rangers, right, they want to
be a power Ranger. It's like it's really hard to
find adult power Rangers costumes. Create a Power Rangers. Listen,
you got two guys here. We need to be fitted
halloweens in nine days, eight days. You all need some

(02:26):
help here. So this is our call out to our
fans that if they could make what exactly, what size,
exactly what we need in a Power Ranger outfit. Oh no,
triple can be comfortable, Triple X to make everything if
sometimes how you will like to wear your Power Ranger costumes.
I mean, you're this sounds like a preference situation that

(02:48):
you've thought a lot about here. Also, power Ranger costumes
are typically pretty tight. Is that accurate? To X to
be the spandex C Power Ranger? Which power Ranger are
you guys gonna be? Don't take mind what you're gonna be.
I'll be in a black Ranger. Freaks freaking guy, he says,

(03:12):
pepto bismol another costume A big man could probably bottle
of pepto bismol. Absolutely not either. Yeah, white Ranger, black
and white. That's amazing. Uh So you were bigger as
a as a kid, right, You were already a big kid.
You didn't grow to later, is that right? So you

(03:32):
got to add more normal Halloween costumes as a kid,
you know, I don't think the last time I was
an elementary school well, things like even in middle school,
you were like an adult costume, but you weren't bigger
than an adult in middle school. I hope bow was
last week when held in middle school. Poor bo probably
never went trick or treating. He wore a baby costume

(03:53):
and then never again. Yeah, I think the last time
I dressed that was by elementary school. What did you
go as an elementary school that either you loved her
long clown? Now we understand where this came from. Literally,
that's it. That's all You went as an elementary school.
That's so sad that you could just paint yourself green

(04:14):
and well, then again we're making terrible excuses because Lebron
James is a lot. Well he's not as that's your dirt.
New Whiskey went as Lurch one year and it's still
my favorite big man costume I scene in a long time.
That was a pretty good one. What did you go
as a kid that you like? Darling? Very quick? Now?
Is this going to be for Halloween this year? Are

(04:35):
you gonna be half Captain America half Hulk? Yeah? I
don't know. You have to if your hand out candy?
Do you have to dress up? No, you don't have to,
but I would very much encourage it now because I
just want to know football home on football play, I'll
be a football player. That's that's terrible. I remember I
went as you last year. That's right. That was one

(04:56):
of my more proud moments with my costume. The Hawaiian shirt,
the basketb all shorts and the flip flops with the ukulele.
It was That's very true. It was the most comfortable.
What was that was like get one of his suits?
It was just like, yeah, graphic T. I think a
graphic T would be for sure, and I could get

(05:17):
like a beard rocking that'd be pretty great. I kind
of want to do this now. I also liked your
your Batman with the bear. This is a really great look. Um.
I also feel like in general Halloween, when everybody's off,
cannot seriously, why can't be the ult You can be
the whole. You're doing a great job with it. You
look exactly like him right now. Marvel's going to be

(05:40):
calling at any moment. The problem. The problem though, is
for any big guys, we paint ourselves green. It's like
we're not the Hulk, We're gonna be Shrek. So that's
why I need the mask. I could y'all could be
the Hulk and Shrek and just see what people say.
Whatever one do you want? Either or that's amazing? So

(06:04):
other than power Rangers, there anything else you would want
to go as that. I would want to go on
your dream costume in your size, No I don't even know.
You can't even have this is good. Everybody come up
with the ideas here now, because you guys are big guys.

(06:24):
I feel like people always would assume you aren't afraid
of things. Why you always do this? Here's what's funny,
here's what's funny. Right now. I wasn't going to do that,
But now that you said that, now you have to explain.
I was going to ask about Halloween and see if
you guys are scared of the Halloween movies or the
haunted houses. But now you say that, you got to

(06:44):
tell people ask your question to answer your question. Casey,
I'm very scared of no. No, But seriously, what was
middle school? Maybe? Huh? They had like a little corn
May haunted barn maze cry in middle school, don't me.

(07:10):
So we're going through, you know, scarecrows and all this
other stuff, but nobody told us that something random person
was going to be hanging from one of them. And
then you know, like not the noise they made. Yeah,
So then so then we go through. I go through

(07:31):
the little barn, all right, go through the barn, people
touching you, and I'm terrified. I get to the end,
right opens up. You're like, oh, I made it. Nope,
you bang a left. Why is Jason and Freddy kry
but a chainsaw? Mind you? I don't know any better.
I just hit. They took the chain off. Obviously they're

(07:52):
over me, like and I'm on the floor, like I
start crying and I'm like yelling like O can't breathe.
I can't breathe. Us to day was stop didn't stop?
So big men are still afraid of things. That's that's
a fair statement. Tell the good people what you're afraid of.
I wasn't a man at that point in time. Okay,
well tell the good people what the man Donovan Smith

(08:13):
is still afraid of. Now, Batman is not afraid of anything.
We're gonna take a break. Let him. It's funny, right back,

(08:35):
Welcome back into this Halloween edition of The Alley and
Donovan Show. I like that we just keep rotating the things.
I figured if if I didn't get to have the shield,
you could just have the whole thing. That's fine, you
can it's all together. Now, what did you say? He
looked like Captain Underpins. I can't tell you I feel
about it. I can't tell you feel about that. They

(08:55):
look pretty good as Captain America. Yeah, you look basically
just like him. See if there you go and black panthers,
little beard sticking out is it's really it's weight. Yeah,

(09:19):
you get that seld and you feel real sassy quick okay,
oh my gosh, alright, real quick. So that Brown's game,
I'm pretty sure it took about ten years off my
life and it might have made you guys feel the
same way. What was the mentality you guys, just end
of regulation and overtime? What were the emotions on the
sideline out on the field when it was such overall

(09:42):
just a weird game with a lot of weird things
that happened in it. Pure exhaustion, no, um, let me
take no. I we were real tired. Um just I
don't think we had one nine nine snaps. Lot of plays.
It's a lot of plays offensively and then uh just happy,

(10:04):
you know, to come back and overcome missing a game
when it feel go to make it one that's longer.
That was huge and the defense uh started the game
especially so huge after that had been a point of emphasis.
I know for them, what does that do for you
guys when you see that they forced them to punt
five times to start out the game. They didn't allow

(10:25):
any points in the first half. It's incredible. Yeah, it's huge,
and I think, uh, we've really only had I don't
know if we've had a game where both the offense
and the defense and special teams has really played well
altogether but scary. But when that happens, just the defense
is able to win a game for us, Like what's
gonna happen? We can put it all together. So I'm

(10:46):
pretty excited for that. And that's something obviously we need
to do. And what did that game feel like it
meant to you? Guys? I know that when you start
losing a few in a row, it can feel like
a snowball effect is maybe around the corner. So to
put a stop that to get a win and to
get a win at Hall, did it feel that significal?
Is it just the whole one game? Is one game?
Breath of fresh air, you know, like you get that

(11:09):
sour taste in your mouth? Was it three games? You know?
Just what's wrong all this other stuff? Then it's like
a full circle, as in, all right's turn us around,
figure out how we won and how we can keep
that same winning attitude going forward. I love that. All right, Well,
we're going to have a special guest joining us next segment.

(11:32):
Get excited about that. Don't go anywhere, Alan Donava show,
Welcome back into the Alley and Donovan show our Halloween. Addition,
I still don't have my shield keeps getting stolen. Not
a fan. Thanks appreciated. I want to hear you the
Black Panther we got happening. You can did it in
the commercial and then now you want it. We also

(11:55):
have a guest here, a new Hulk, Alan Cross showing
can come on you now we can now we get
to see see the Alan cross face. How's it going? Man? Now?
And we have Batman? Which is that? What's happening here
is to get up here? Which Batman? Perfect? That's which?
Which Batman? Is it? Okay? So Alan, Uh, what are

(12:17):
your thoughts on Halloween? You big fan? Yeah? You know
I had a bad trial as a kid, so we
don't dress up a lot, but you know I like
trick treating with a Yeah, you gotta share now you
can't start commercial. You know I was a kid and
I had I did something my pants and it's just
that's so sad. You know this was last year big,

(12:43):
I was like six or something. That's so incident. That's it.
You haven't I have dressed up? Oh so like is
the Hulk mass is about as close as you've gotten.
We should feel so honored. This is this is a
big moment. You made a great hulk. We think you
should we should bring it back. Uh So we want
let people get to know you. You're one of the
one of the phase in locker room. Always love you're you.
Always are posting videos of this guy best in a

(13:03):
move dancing. Oh I think just I just I just
do all shoulders, put some music. Yeah, that's that's the dancing.

(13:25):
You gotta figure it out. This is perfect. So for
lay people get to know you a little bit. Tell
us a little about your path to college and the NFL.
Not the traditional route you took here, so tell us
tell people a little bout how you got to this point.
Played linebacker in a college. I played linebacker in high school.
Walked onto memphisis along snapper. Yeah, I know that. You

(13:46):
always keep that in your back pocket. Yeah, you can
do good more good more, you know, walked on did
that thing and flinte out there and asked me I
to play tight end and just took over and start playing.
That's awesome. And now here you are, look at that
you learning new things every day. That's crazy. Is your
mind is blown right now, isn't it? I found out

(14:08):
what can all you walk on? That's so impressive. I
enjoyed that. And uh, I feel like your your sense
of fashion. We talked about Alley's sense of fashion on
the show a few times. We talked about the Hawaiian
shirt's all of that. I want to hear your your
perfect outfit. Yeah, you need to special about that. You
know you got a quarter free free foot flops Nike say,

(14:35):
I'm rocking the solo currently. It's a very very stylish thing. Yes,
So tell me your your sense of fashion, your dream
outfit for a day. What is it are you I'm
wearing right now? We're going to go? This is the
cameo crocs are phenomenal, especially when I've seen you in
the cameo sweatpants with the cameo crocks and the cameo

(14:56):
baseball the camp dad jokes for days. I mean, like
that business that's it's not your fault, that's for sure.
A bunch now, And I did you did your part
to keep them in business. It was everybody else's fault,
all right. So for you, we're looking at this now Halloween,

(15:20):
what would your dream costume be if you were going
to dress up again? Because they want to be power rangers.
They're real sad they can't find the big enough. You're
actually like a normal sized dude to where you could
probably buy costumes from Memphis. Oh there is and the
Memphis Yeah, I mean you definitely have. Do people make
money for the Memphis accent all around here? Like you've

(15:41):
got a lot of guys in locker room from Emphis
accent or Southern so, oh it's your right. We have
two New Yorkers over here. I figar Clare makes fun
of me the most French accent whatever sounded just like.
I feel like you two in the tighten room probably

(16:02):
could not be more different. Like all the people on
the team. The fact that you two play the same
position in the position groom all the time together has
got to be very entertained. We got a lot of
arguments about Canadian bacon and things like that, but other
than that, what's your argument with it? Here? Raise your hands?
Who believes in Canadian bacon? We believe it is Canadian bacon. Yes,

(16:26):
there's an According to Aunt, it's ham. It's just ham.
There's no such thing as Canadian basing. There's no there is.
It's all the men. You it has a Canadian bacon sing.
When you're in Canada, it says ham. But when you're
in the US, it says, Then we're talking about the
same thing. Is that his argument, we had drive the

(16:48):
same truck and his on his dashes on in French,
and I don't I don't know what you can't drive
his trucks kilometers is that everything is in French. Wow,
So he's having to translate to drive exactly. And then
he argues about Canadian bacon. Have you learned any French?
I took four years French high school. That's surprises French.

(17:12):
Everything honors French. And I didn't learn nothing. I was
just about to say, please, I love the hand with it.
I can tell part. No, No, it's not Jeff, you're
right you didn't learn there. Yeah, you're right, you didn't

(17:35):
learn anything. Oh my gosh, we're gonna work on that
French in this break work. Be right back on the
Allien Donald Show for a final segment. Here the Alien
Donovan Show real quick before we dive into the SINC game.
I hear that you guys are on a bowling team.
Who's better Donovan? Yeah? Like three bowling balls, he brains

(17:55):
every time. I still got to use the balls at
the house. That's what you're better, buller, if you bring
if I bring four balls, yes, that's the rules. Bag
his own shoes, tennis shoes, you know everything. He just
loves for part. That's really the key there. It look good,
play good, all exactly right. And speaking of that, so

(18:16):
going into since this weekend, how important does this game
feel that now you guys are right at that five
hundred mark, does that feel significant in terms of three
and four versus four and three? Does that seem to
sound and feel a lot different to you guys in
the locker room? Oh? Absolutely, Um, you want to have
a winning record, you know, no matter how early in
the season, how late in the season. So anytime you

(18:36):
get over huge, So you know that's what that's what
we're going to do this weekend. It's true. And then
for you guys the offense, I mean, you guys have
been incredible all season racking up yards. So I want
to hear, especially from your side of things, the tight
end position. What do you feel like you guys as
a team and as a group have been doing really
well so far. I feel like who worked a lot
of this offseason on just little things like you know,

(18:56):
holding the line outside or just you know, figuring out
too high man to zone covered three, things like that.
And you know, we've really worked a lot with quarterbacks
and just connected on you know, figuring out its covered three.
You've gotta spray things, just things like that. It's awesome.
And I know the run game we've talked on the
show about those a huge emphasis for you guys wanting
to get it going a little bit. It seems like
recently there has been a little bit of sparked more

(19:17):
emphasis on it, at least in terms of how many
carries some of the guys are getting. How do you
feel like the run game is going and where do
you guys still want to see it go. I think
that we feel as an offense pretty confident that we
can run the ball. But I mean there have been
a couple of games where we really haven't done a
great job. But I think moving forward, we know that
we have the capability to do so, and this weekend
this is gonna be a good test for it for sure.

(19:37):
All right, well, thanks for joining us on this Halloween
edition of The Alley and Donovan Show with our special guest,
Alan Cross. Thanks for being what it was. Oh yeah,
our little the finger guns and alleys thumbs up. Do
you haven't? How do you post for photos? Un Wait,

(20:02):
I'll know
