Speaker 1 (00:00):
I was. I was just trying to decide what direction
I wanted to go, because it's just there's so many
these ways I could go left, right, center, you know,
I don't know. Flip it Rea, yeah, Bobby, pull it right,
all right, anyone else you want to get it out.
It was that not part of the joy.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
It was yeah, there, you're right.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
This was prophetic. It was teaching people things they needed
to know. I did.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
I had the flick one.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
So there's a woman, she's a bride. Uh and at
her wedding reception, she checked her phone and was shocked
to see WhatsApp message from her boss letting her know
she had been fired. Wow, So she shared the story
on YouTube. The boss started with the text message, I

(00:56):
hope your wedding day went well and that you had
nice time away. She then proceeded to read the rest
of the text message, I just wanted to let you
know that the decision has been made to unfortunately let
you go. An email was send to your personal email
address detailing this. I'm really sorry it didn't work out,
and I wish you all the best. This person didn't
know what to say. That bride went on to detail

(01:16):
how she got the first inkling that things weren't going well.
I didn't have my phone on me, I got all
these well. Well, anyway, the bottom line is, does it
matt like? Like should they have not fired her on
her wedding day? Like like should they have said, oh,
we will just fire you tomorrow, or we'll fire you
the day before, or I mean, like if you're the

(01:37):
manager of a place and you're tasked with firing somebody
and that's what they're making you do, I mean, does
it matter? I mean yes, I suppose, like proper the
thought of some form of thoughtfulness would be, don't fire
someone on their wedding day, But like, I don't know,
I feel like that'd be the easiest when to do it.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Really yeah, I mean she's busy, she going to respond
right away, and then she got all the drinks you want.
If she gets mad when she sees the text message,
she could drink her night away.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
It's her wedding right well. And the fact that this
person referenced time away means that like it wasn't even
like a mistake. It wasn't even like this person didn't
like somebody from HR in some other place didn't even
know and just let I mean, my god, you want.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
To come back to work, like she spends another honeymoon.
She goes on a honeymoon right away, and then she
comes back there she.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Gets fired, right, Well, yes, I wonder like, is the
day after your wedding better? Certainly not the day before
your wedding. I mean, I suppose at your wedding, Yeah,
you got a bunch of friends and family there, and
you're like, well this sucks, but hey, I got my wedding,
So let's just focus on that for right now.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
That's what I'm saying. How do you focus on that
when you just lost your job.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
You don't know, you don't know the context, you don't
know how long had she get in there, Like obviously
the boss wasn't invited, so it couldn't been that important
of a job.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I mean, don't you immediately go into panic moade when
he was a job your.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
Whole way because you got that party, You're gonna party
the night away.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
What she's saying, good, instead of enjoying a new chapter
in her life with her partner, that she's been is
you hustling to find a new job. All I've been
doing is applying for.

Speaker 4 (03:03):
Jobs that would be anyone's reaction right to go into
that mode of.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Like, I got to get the figured out.

Speaker 5 (03:07):
I wouldn't want my wedding overshadowed by the fact that
I'm freaking out that I have no income.

Speaker 6 (03:11):
Now, yeah she got a husband, Oh wow, so if
he's got a good job.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
Yeah he married her, and he's like, wait a minute, right,
hold on, I just I just married you and now
we're half broke. Right, I don't know I have bills from
their wedding. I mean, right, wedding, you're right. I mean
what are they supposed to do, like bring her back
to work for a couple of weeks, knowing they don't
want her there, knowing that she's going to be fired,
and then like just because she got married two weeks ago,
like just come work here, even though we know we're

(03:38):
going to get rid of you.

Speaker 7 (03:38):
I would fire her after after her honeymoon's over, first
day back, I would fire her at least I knew
she enjoyed that part of her life.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
But then you're gonna make her spend way more money.
You know, I'm not making her do anything. I need
to make these cuts, but like you know that she
like he became very personal for Kayl. She's making cuts
for her budget.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
But you were saying you're gonna ruin her wedding day
by having her scramble to try to find the job
the next day. But you're going to allow her to
take a full honeymoon, probably spend more money. It's already
for Kevin Well.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
She could get a refund on that if she wanted to.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
I think the day before you're not going to get
a refund.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
But I'm saying, but like she goes okay, so the
honey making cuts in her budget. Roof here, I'd be
very nice right now. I think I know who goes first?
Stop that he wouldn't go first.

Speaker 7 (04:22):
No, First of all, I'm not going to play a
game of who I would fire?

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Can you were talking about you you have, you have
your budget where you have to make touch on your budget,
and this woman's bot who goes first on the show?
What the hell is you can fire me to who
goes first?

Speaker 5 (04:36):
If it's the budget, it's you, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
On this show, no.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Money, our budget. Yes, I have terrible news for you.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
It's not like if you fire me, then you just
split the money you fired me. The money just goes away.
That's how it works.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
I know.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
But yeah, we know if I need to say the
biggest bag to.

Speaker 7 (05:00):
Go, Okay, I thtinue reading I was the highest on
the show.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
Oh yeah, you know. I would be pissed if I
went on vacation and got back from vacation and you
fired me the first day, because then I'm gonna be like,
why could have stayed on vacation or I don't know, No,
but then if you fire me before vacation, then you
kind of ruin my vacation. So I don't know. I
guess I'd rather than do it. I guess I would rather,
you know what. I I'm on bord a couple more weeks,

(05:25):
I work there, and then you fire me, Like let's
get it, let's separate ourselves away from the big occasion,
you know what I mean, so that you just have
to deal with that. I guess right, that's how I
run things that you would you would wait, you'd sneak
attack after a couple of weeks.

Speaker 7 (05:36):
Not a couple of weeks. No, I wouldn't feel bad.
I would say you got your experience that you wanted.
It was once in a lifetime. I have to make
some cuts and unfortunately you have to, you know, go
good luck on your future endeavors.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Yeah, I think that's tough. I wouldn't do it the
day before her wedding. I wouldn't do the day after
her wedding do it. Or I wouldn't do it the
day before her vacation or honeymoon.

Speaker 7 (05:56):
Wait till she gets pregnant and do it that day.

Speaker 1 (05:58):
Yeah, but that's the problem. That's the thing. Is, like
I'm not in HR. Maybe somebody in HR can like
chime in on this eight five, five, five, nine, one
one oh three five. But I feel like once they
make the decision in a corporation to fire someone, they
have to do it because if you don't do it
right away based on whatever's happening right now, then things change.
And then like again, what if she does get pregnant.

(06:19):
I don't know if you can fire a pregnant woman
the day she announces she's pregnant, even if you meant
to fire her before because according to them, her performance was.

Speaker 7 (06:30):
Poor, that would mean she was pregnant at this We're
getting too in the weeds here, Well, no.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
I don't think we are, though, because I think there
are law is like, once people say things out loud
about certain things, and there are certain protections in place,
so I can fire you if you got if you
conceived last night, and I fire you the next day,
I don't. I don't think that's the liability for me.
Since I don't know that you conceived. I don't know
that you can say, hey, i'm pregnant, I go and
you're fired.

Speaker 7 (06:54):
I'm not sure if we can do that doing that
the day she gets back from her honeymoon, right.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Plus also the paper trail.

Speaker 5 (06:59):
When you do this, if you're actually in a corporation,
the paper trail goes back a long time to try
to get to the point where you actually have enough
to be able to fire someone. So if she's like,
I'm pregnant today and I've been starting my paper trail
six months ago, girl, it's all good.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
See I apologize, Yeah, see ya. I don't know if
that's what Judge Kiki would say. This whole topic has
me shook.

Speaker 6 (07:20):
I just can't Kaitlyn looks way too happy to fire somebody.
Rufio want to fire you at your wedd like he
would like to show up on the mic.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
You just want to fire me generally going on, Yeah,
you want to judge. I mean, how would you handle
this situation? You've been awfully quiet.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
I would be horrible fire somebody, like I'm a punk,
So I would be like, girl, I would go to
your wedding. I would buy you a very expensive gift,
and then I would fire you when you got back
from your your honeymoon. But I would also help you
look for another job, because I feel so bad about
firing somebody. I'd be like, Okay, look girl, we're just
going to transition you to another company, so not this one.

Speaker 1 (07:57):
By transition, we're going in a different direction, and that's
a direction away from you. I'm gonna help you find
another job. But I don't. I don't think people realize, like,
there's so many laws about this. I don't think you
can do that. I don't think you can fire someone
to say, but I'll help you. I don't.

Speaker 2 (08:17):
Yeah, you can't do that.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
There's all kinds of stuff you can't do, y'all. Like evil, y'all.
I just want to put people on the street. You
don't want to help her. You don't, at least I've
only been involved in terminating a couple of terminations, and
I just I know that it's like a whole orchestrated
thing because of all the legal aspects involved. It's like,
read this script right, and don't say one more word. Yeah,

(08:38):
I've never had to do it, but I've been privy
to it.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Have you ever done it?

Speaker 1 (08:43):
And are they okay? Someone else has done it?

Speaker 6 (08:45):
And then like the person is responding like but friend,
but it's me dog, And then you just got to
keep reading your script like.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
No, I've never I've never, like I said, I've never
actually fired anyone because I'm not a manager.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
My boy had yeah, the phone, and then you cry
all day and they made you do that, like because
they wanted you to learn it was.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Read the script. Jason's going to do it because Jason
used to know he's a manager.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Yeah, wants to know for his brightness of future.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Hold on a second, Hey, Lisa, this happened to you.
What happened? So this one we're talking about a woman
who got fired on her wedding day. And the debate
is if you're if you're the person tasked with firing somebody,
and I don't even know if it Like again, if
it's a big corporation, it's a very good chance the
person firing. Hern't didn't even know anything about her, but

(09:37):
it sounds like this person did know because there was
a text about I hope you enjoyed YadA, YadA, YadA.
So it sounds like this person did know. But so
what happened to you?

Speaker 4 (09:46):
I was fired right after my thirtieth birthday, like the
day after my.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Birthday thirty dogs. Now did they know it was your birthday? Oh?

Speaker 4 (09:55):
Yeah, they knew. Everybody has got me balloons, they got
me cake, and like the bosses like kind of like
just ran around me all day. They didn't think to me,
And I was like, that's just weird. They usually have
like a big celebration. And then like the next day
they were like, oh, can you go on lunch really quick?
And I was like sure, And I went on lunch
and when I came back, they were like, you're unfortunately
going to have to let you go. So you were

(10:18):
going to esport you out the building and if you
don't leave, we're going to call the police.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Oh oh lot, the police. Now, Lisa, would you have
preferred they had done it before your birthday? I mean, like,
what are they supposed to do? I mean, again, not
fire you, hopefully.

Speaker 4 (10:33):
Like really drunk and had a really good time on
my birthday and not like they're worried about going.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
To work the next day.

Speaker 1 (10:41):
M okay, all right, Lisa, would you get another job
or are you still looking?

Speaker 4 (10:46):
Oh no, I'm gonna stay at home mom.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Now.

Speaker 4 (10:48):
I never went back to work after that.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
Oh okay, all right, we'll worked at Lisa, maybe, because
maybe that's what happened, is you got fire the day
after your birthday. You and I got real drunk, then
you got pregnant. I can say, home mom. So actually
it all worked out. Yeah, thank you, Lisa, have a
good day too. So I guess it was she was
fired over text, but the text was to say there
was an email that she was fired. Okay, so she

(11:11):
wasn't fired for text. I guess she was fired of
an email. But then whatever, same deal. Hey, Heather, hie hi.
So we should not have fired her overtext. That's what
we're worried about, not the fact that she was fired
on her wedding day.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
I think that that's the first part, right, Like that
was just horrible, Like you said that she got the
message and a WhatsApp that was absolutely horrible to fire her.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
So when should they have done it when.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Again, if it is a budget.

Speaker 1 (11:41):
Cut, then they needed to get her out of payroll,
so then they had to do it that day then
or whatever day they had to do it right around there. Yes,
and it normally like if there was a budget cut,
they knew it was coming.

Speaker 6 (11:53):
It is.

Speaker 1 (11:53):
It was really bogus for them to do it on
her wedding day that they knew that they knew it
was coming, and they should have probably told her before
her wedding. Okay, yeah, all right, Heather. Well I hope
you never get fired.

Speaker 4 (12:06):
I hope not.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
I've had to do it and it sucks, but I hope.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Yeah. No, it's well from what I understand, it's no fun.
So I've only heard, you know, second hand from Jason Wes.
He sobbed on my shoulder. Thank you, Heather. Have a
good day by guys. Yeah. Yeah, I love you too.
We got toughing you up a little bit, Jason. We
had tough and you yeah. Yeah, that's the way you
don't want to do a good job. Here's the more trauma.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
In here.

Speaker 1 (12:33):
I could not no, no it cracking jokes trying to be.

Speaker 2 (12:37):
Funny, like read the script.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
You have to fire someone on the show right now,
who's gonna be and what are you gonna say to him?

Speaker 6 (12:44):
You have to okay, I would fire Ben ha mean
because he's not physically looking at me.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
If he was looking at me, I couldn't do it.
How would you do it? How would you just say?
He would just walk in? Yes, Kiky, yes, boss Kiky.

Speaker 6 (12:55):
I'm like Ben Frank told me to tell you, I'm
a up.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
You founding out the same same everybody you're not. Ruvio
could handle it. Oh yeah, Ruvio. Oh he's Rufio. Steck Hovey,
no problem,
