Speaker 1 (00:26):
The Biggest stories of the day. Mark says he's running
his first marathon.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
When he text does in January that bro Grey hold
on damp, he says, he's nervous. I'd be nervous too.
He'll be fine, man, you'll be fine as long as.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
There's like an exit route like that, you can get
out of there at any point if you need to write, like,
you're not just such kind of light house, right he
had Like Nascar. I remember they came to Chicago and
I got stuck out there. I couldn't get out, you know, Like,
So as long as you can get out of there,
I think you'll be fine.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
I mean, I think you can just stop running it
if you want. I don't think it's like you, but
I need an exit plan. Yeah yah, I think you
can just walk to the side and just go in
to the you know, going in the dunkin don'tuts.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
I think you could do that if you want too.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
That was me.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Yeah, me too. I think I do maybe like a
mile or two. That's good. I'm all set right. My
feet kind of hurt. So I feel like every day
it's been some form of crazy weather story about how
cold it is. But I have more bad news for you, sorry.
An arctic blast of cold air is set to break
temperature records. Millions across the Midwest could be feeling record
cold this morning. Of polar vortzex from Canada is plunging

(01:33):
into the US today and tomorrow, potentially breaking dozens of
daily low records. Low temperature records from the plains to
the northeast. Cities like Pittsburgh and Des Moines could break
record lows this morning, and areas in the upper Midwest
and northern plains. We'll see temperatures below zero in a
lot of places across the region. Today's high temperature will
not get above freezing twenty nine in Pittsburgh, seventeen in Chicago,

(01:55):
thirteen in Minneapolis. The freezing weather is expected to continue
into Friday, and then a second blast of cold air
will push through the Midwest on Saturday. Yay, No, I
feel like that's the noise I make when I think
about it. I feel like any time, maybe last year
wasn't didn't seem that bad, at least not around here,

(02:15):
and so I feel like we're paying for it now.
It's like, you know, you get you get one, maybe
two good seasons, and then they punish you. Yeah, I'm
not sure who they is. I'm not sure who the
board is in charge of this, but I don't I
don't really approve. So if you could go back to
a little bit warmer, that would be nice. The Powerball
jackpot has sort of eight hundred and twenty million dollars,

(02:36):
which I stutter when I say it because I think
what I'm gonna do when I win the power Ball,
because it's time.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
I really feel like it.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
The last couple I felt like it's warming up, like
it's getting closer to where I'm gonna win. I really
felt a couple of times ago that it was for me,
like it really is, like my spirit guys were telling
me to go buy a ticket, and now it helps
to buy a ticket if you want to win these things.
And I always forget to do that part, but I
think I think this one's for me. And then I'm
just gonna relocate the show. We'll still be on the

(03:03):
air everywhere, but I'm gonna relocate the show to someplace
much more like it's consistently much warmer.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
How are you feeling about that? I'm not mad?

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Or maybe like a seasonal a seasonal headquarters, like you know,
we go down to Florida like snowbirds, right, like old people,
and then when it warms up, we come back north.
We'll go south, and then we'll go nor right like
like birds. Well, well you know, we'll we'll migrate.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
I'm down.

Speaker 1 (03:29):
I'll pack my little purse.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
There you go, illow you, But that's what's going to happen.
Cash option three hundred and eighty three million dollars. Don't
get me going on why. I think that's weird that
you go from eight twenty to three eighty three, But okay,
I'll take it.

Speaker 1 (03:42):
If you're following along.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
Jason's out here this morning, and I hope he sends
us his NFL picks because just because you're in La
bro it doesn't mean that the people aren't counting on
you for the par sleigh and the NFL picks. But
the Hall of Fame selectors have revealed the five contenders
for the twenty twenty six class, and among them Robert
crap the owner of the Patriots. Bill Belichick, the legendary

(04:04):
coach you loved the New England Patriots to six Super
Bowl victories and compiled the career victory record of a
career record rather of three hundred and thirty three wins
and one hundred and seventy eight losses. Was the coach finalist,
Ken Anderson, Roger Craig, and Els Greenwood all our contenders
for the Hall of Fame. This is an amazing story.

(04:24):
I'm not sure if you've seen it online, but there's
an eighty eight year old man named Ed Bombas. He's
a former US Army veteran. He was working full time
as a cashier in Michigan at a supermarket in Brighton, Michigan.
I guess he was forced to go back to work
at this age after losing a little bit earlier in life,
after losing his pension when his former employer went bankrupt

(04:47):
and during years of financial strain following his wife's illness
and passing. So someone one of these kindest influencers found
him and then went to the store and I think
gave him like four hundred bucks and got his story,
and he since gone viral. This man has again. He
was a veteran, he was an auto worker. He lost
his pension with a lot of other people. His wife

(05:09):
died seven years ago. He goes to her grave every
single day to visit her. And so they told this
guy's story, they started to go fundme page for him.
I'm not sure if maybe they've told him, but he
didn't know about it, or he didn't know what the
number was. Up to one point five million dollars is
what they've raised for this guy so that he can
retire finally at eighty eight.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
I love that. I love that too. That's a good man.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
He'll be formally presented with the funds in the coming days,
a moment that promises to finally give him peace of mind, dignity,
and the rest that he has earned after a lifetime
of service and hardship. But that's just from TikTok Instagram reel.
Whatever it is wherever you saw the story YouTube. It's
gone viral and people have chipped in and one point
five million dollars for this guy. That is so beautiful,

(05:57):
although I do wish we treated our veterans much better,
but it's in the conversation for another day.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
But that is beautiful that we're able to use the
power of social media and influence to help others.

Speaker 2 (06:05):
Yeah, there is a bear. I have two animal stories
for you. A bear that has crawled under a home
in California Altadena, California, over a week ago, and the
bear has said I'm not leaving. He's a squatter bear.
The homeowner, named Ken, says he can't get the bear
to leave, so he has to live in his house
and the bear is staying, so he just lives with

(06:25):
the bear. I guess the bear is under the house
and it's been growling and hissing and he can hear
it from within his house. I guess He's had numerous
calls placed in the California Department of Fish and Wildlife
to get help. They suggested losing using a fan to
vent ammonia fumes into the crawl space, but he fears

(06:46):
that he doesn't know what the bear would doesn't want
to get that close. The only damage so far has
been to his trash can. Some people believe the bear
moved to his neighborhood after being displaced by the eaten
fire there and the.

Speaker 1 (06:57):
Cleanup that's been on going. I don't know. It's a
dispute between the homeowner and the bear.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
Take him a small claims.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
Court, right Kiki's court. Yep, we'll handle it right here.
The bear has rights. Yeah, but I'm not sure what
you do.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
I mean, I would like to believe if somebody could
help me, maybe relocate mister bear, but.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
She's under my house.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
I got to go home, right, So I guess I
just hope that we could coexist. And in my second
animal story, in the Biggest Stories of the day in Oklahoma,
a four year old mixed breed dog named Ozzie just
broke a Guinness World record for the longest tongue and
it's a girl dog.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Ozzie the girl dog.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Her family always joked about her tongue and they had
never measured it, I guess, but Guinness confirmed seven point
eight three inches, officially the longest tongue on a living dog.
Despite her a comical look, her owner says that Ozzie
isn't actually a big liquor, doesn't use the tongue for anything.
I guess, would rather nuzzle and hang out like a
normal pup. But she loves car rides in outdoor plate time,
and happens to have a tongue that's deals all the attention.

(08:01):
But yes, a seven point eighty three inch tongue on
Ozzie the dog. And I don't know there are there
are no jokes like there are no ruel Oh my goodness,
well there's that.

Speaker 1 (08:12):
There's a kay, there's a drool joke. Yeah, it's not
a joke. Is just terrifying.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Seven seven eight inch tongue and you figure, like, I
don't know, a couple of inches are in the mouth,
but that still means you've got five six inches is
hanging like you wrap the tonnuel around your head. M yeah, yeah, okay,
I see your move by that. It's Santasless Day and
it's Wildlife Conservation Day today as well,
