Speaker 1 (05:44):
All right? Stay right there.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
I've ever been left waiting by the phone.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
It's the Fred Show.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Iris, Good morning, welcome to the program. How are you good?

Speaker 5 (05:55):
How are you?

Speaker 2 (05:56):
We're doing great? Thanks for being here. What's going on
with this dude, Matt? We got to know how you
met about any dates you've been on, give us some context,
some backstory, all that good stuff, and then what's going
on now?

Speaker 4 (06:08):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (06:09):
Thank you?

Speaker 4 (06:10):
So, yeah, we met on we met online.

Speaker 5 (06:13):
We met on Facebook dating.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
Actually, so don't about that one too often. I heard
there's a lot of people in there, though, Yeah, you know,
is it like, I don't.

Speaker 9 (06:25):
I don't know how I know this, but I saw
that there was a part on there that you can
make it. You don't know anybody like it will never
pop up in anyone that you know.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
Oh that's a good idea.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Not that anyone will be surprised to see me on
any form of a dating app. I mean, I'm single,
but I guess if you weren't single and you were
trying to poke around on that thing anyway. Okay, so
Facebook dating, we don't hear a lot about that, but
you you.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
You met someone on there?

Speaker 4 (06:48):
Yeah no, And and like actually went out on a date,
which is rare, Like meeting someone you know online and
then actually having it results in a in a real
life they feels feels pretty rare.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
So why is it rare? Date very much? Or why
is it rare for you to go on a date?

Speaker 4 (07:07):
I mean, I feel like dating these days, especially online
dating in general, is really hard to actually meet someone
who wants to meet in real life. I'm also a
single mom, which complicates things, right, so it's like two strikes.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Yeah, and that could be hard to coordinate.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
All Right, So you met this guy, you had a
great date, you felt like everything went really well, things
kind of came together, except you have not heard from
him since then, and that's bugging you, as it would anybody.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
Yeah, it feels especially weird because I have to say,
it was a pretty great date, Like, it wasn't just okay,
it was a really good date. So to not hear anything,
they have him ghost me after that just feels very od.
He'd also been really responsive, like up to the date,

(07:56):
you know what I mean, like as we were planning it,
as we were talking, you know, texting, So I okay, yeah,
just it feels odd. It feels very odd.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Well, let me call Uh, We're going to play a song.
Come back. We'll call Matt. You'll be on the phone.
We're going to ask these questions. At some point. You're
welcome to jump in on the call and hopefully we
get straightened this out and set you guys up on
another great date that we pay for.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
That would be amazing, Iris.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Yes, all right, let's call Matt.

Speaker 2 (08:22):
You guys met on Facebook Dating, which is not a
dating app that we hear about very often on waiting
by the phone. But you, you guys connected, you went out,
you had great conversation, you really felt like the date
went well, and you don't date a whole lot, so
you were excited about the prospect here. But you have
not heard from this guy since the date, and you
want to know why that is it? All right, let's

(08:43):
call him now. Good luck, Iris, Thank you? Hi is Matt, Matt,
Hey mag good morning. My name is Fred calling from
the Fred Show, the Morning radio show, and I have
to tell you that we are on the radio right

(09:03):
now and I would need your permission to continue with
the call. Can we chat for just a second on
the show?

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Uh? Yeah, I guess.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
I mean it's a little weird. You said you're a
radio show. I know it's a little awkward. Thanks for listening,
by the way, But no, we're calling on behalf of
a woman named Iris, who I guess you met recently
on on maybe on Facebook dating or something, and then
you guys went on a date.

Speaker 7 (09:27):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean I went out with her.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
What's right going on?

Speaker 7 (09:32):
What's a question here?

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Okay?

Speaker 2 (09:33):
Oh oh, we're going to go to the we love
bossing over here?

Speaker 1 (09:37):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Well, she called us, Matt and told us had a
lot of nice things to say about you. Said that
she enjoyed meeting you and enjoyed the date and was
hoping to hear from you again. Says you were very
communicative before the date and and she's confused as to
why you haven't reached out or responded to her since
you guys went out.

Speaker 7 (09:55):
Uh yeah, okay, I mean it's okay, it's a little awkward,
but uh, you know, Iris was was really nice. I
mean I really liked her when we were talking on
Facebook dating. When we went on the date, the conversation
was good. I mean, we had good bans, you know,
and she's gorgeous, she's absolutely beautiful.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Us. The problem, this all checks out? What's the problem then? Yeah, Okay.

Speaker 7 (10:18):
I knew that she's a single mom, you know, and
she doesn't get out much for the dating. So but
that didn't bother me, you know. I it was fine
hearing her talk about her son. She was very proud
and I was totally fine. At the end of the date,
you know, we were I drove her home. We were
kissing in my car before we you know, kind of

(10:38):
said goodbye, and things were getting hot and heavy. But
then she told me like, okay, well, unfortunately I can't.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
I wish I could bring you up.

Speaker 7 (10:48):
But my son's sleeping in my bed. Okay, okay, And
when I you know, she she's yeah, she said her
son was sleeping in her bed.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
But she already told me.

Speaker 7 (11:02):
That her son is seventeen and in high school and
he sleeps in bed with her every night, and so.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
That oh no, it's because in my mind where in
my bed, I'm like, oh, mom's out of you kids five, six,
seven years old, somebody that you know mom's in yeah,
oh boy, okay.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
Oh my, if we want to go down this bead,
so anywhere.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Like you guys agree here that seventeen years old, I
didn't know where this is going. I didn't know if
I didn't know if maybe you're going to wind up
in like the kid's bed or something like. I didn't
know where this was going. Because okay, no, no, let
me bring iris in. I got iris. You got a
lot of explaining to do girl, like your seventeen year

(11:53):
old son sleeps in your bed and you're there, yes,
he does.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
There is It's it's complicated, sounds like it, you know.
I feel like when you're a parent, there are certain thing.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
That you have to do for your child.

Speaker 7 (12:11):
And what would be for is if your seventeen year
old sleeps in your bed every night.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
That's a big issue.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
I don't immediately take this to like a criminal place
or anything like that. It's in my mind it's well, well,
I mean, we live in a Yeah, sadly, this is
the world we live in. But I guess I'm really
concerned about boundaries here, Like seventeen years old, there's quite
the attachment. I mean, what happens I mean, what is

(12:40):
he a junior in high school? Senior in high school?

Speaker 4 (12:43):
Well?

Speaker 2 (12:43):
No, yeah, I mean like what yeah, like what happens
when it's time to go to college and move out
and things like that. I mean, it seems like, you know,
help me out here.

Speaker 8 (12:54):
First of all, he's a he's a rising senior. Second
of all, look, i I'm not I'm not trying to
get feisty here, but I'm very surprised that that's the reason,
especially because you're not a parent and.

Speaker 4 (13:11):
You don't understand, and there's a lot of history and
context here that I'm not going to go into about
my son's needs, and well that that would be a
deal breaker for you how I choose to parent my child.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Wait a minute, though, iris Like you can't honestly, look,
no one's judging you or whatever your story is, but
you can't possibly tell me that that is something that
someone who you're going to date would find to be
you know, commonplace, And like, so what happens if this
relationship goes somewhere? Do we have to he has to
be out of the house then, like, because he's taking

(13:49):
yours spot in the bed, Like the dude, what do
you do?

Speaker 8 (13:52):
There's if things were to progress, it would be a
while before you meet my son, for you know, obvious reasons.

Speaker 4 (14:02):
I'm very protective of him.

Speaker 5 (14:04):
I thought that was understood in terms of like intimacy.
There are ways to work around that. Bedtime is our
special time. But you know, their afternoon, their mournings, there are.

Speaker 1 (14:21):
Other I can't.

Speaker 7 (14:25):
I'm sorry you guys, I can't. I mean, this is
this is the dilemma, and I think that I am
going to withhold the judgment, but just.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
We're going to get into studies now.

Speaker 2 (14:39):
I'm not sure, honest I don't know if this is
the Sun's thing or the moms.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
I don't know who likes a whole.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Yeah, and I'm sorry for whatever you've been through or
however we got here, genuinely, But I can also, in fairness,
I can see why somebody from the outside would look
at this and say, where do I fit in? Oh?

Speaker 4 (14:57):
I mean, I would just think actually, because we did
have such a great date and you did seem really
supportive of me being a single bomb, which I don't know,
maybe that was, maybe that was, but uh no, Yeah, you.

Speaker 7 (15:14):
Are welcome to think of me as a bad guy,
but I'm I'm just doing what I know is right
for me.

Speaker 2 (15:21):
Yeah, I think you're Yeah, I'm sorry.

Speaker 7 (15:24):
Max, somebody finds it understandable. I and I totally support
that you are supportive of your son, just not in
that way. And granted, like you said, I'm not a
parent myself, but I think that I am justified in
not wanting to be a part of that situation.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
There's a lot.

Speaker 2 (15:49):
Okay, Honestly, I'm not even gonna argue with you but
so it's not for Matt. Iris, I'll ask the question, Matt,
would you like to go out with her again?

Speaker 1 (15:58):
We'll pay for it. No, maybe a hotel room too.
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
In the middle of the day, didn't didn't look Iris.
I I'm I wish you the best. And I just
you know, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
I don't know. I don't know. I just don't.

Speaker 2 (16:20):
I don't know. I don't know. And so that's not
he's not going to be interested. And Iris, I wish
you the best in whatever's going on. And uh and
and thank you so much for sharing with us.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
There are a lot of studies about them, like reattached.

Speaker 1 (16:36):
Trying to make this easy.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
I know, I know there's there's attachment, there's attachment stuff going.

Speaker 1 (16:40):
I don't. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (16:41):
I really I'm not going. I am not qualified for
this conversation. So I'm just gonna get going. I don't know.
I got to go ahead and get going now. So
I wish you guys both the best of luck.

Speaker 1 (16:52):
Okay, okay, well, thank you. Cal's entertainment report is on
The Fresh Show.

Speaker 6 (16:58):
Jonathan Bailey has been named people magazine's twenty twenty five
Sexiest Man Live.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
And if you're going who the heck is that, you might.

Speaker 6 (17:06):
Know him from Bridgeton or the Wicked movie.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
He played Fierro.

Speaker 6 (17:10):
And this is pretty cool because Jonathan is now the
first openly gay man to hold the title. I thought
it was going to be Jason Brown. I voted, and
I voted, but he came in second place. Unfortunately, you'll
get him next year.

Speaker 1 (17:22):
They say.

Speaker 6 (17:22):
His charisma, wide ranging roles, and breakthrough presence landed him
the coveted sexiest Man a live crown for twenty twenty
five glow Rilla and this has got to be an
awesome feeling. Gifted her father a brand new jag SUV
to celebrate his retirement after nearly thirty years of being
a postman.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
He worked for the Post.

Speaker 6 (17:40):
Office, and she just wanted to thank him for working,
you know, his decades of service, and celebrate that retirement.
So he got a brand new jag Okay, So she
kept saying, it's not time, It's not time. It is
now time, says Mariah Carey. She has officially announced the
beginning of the holiday season with a new video and
camp paying with Sephorah called fittingly.

Speaker 1 (18:02):
It's time.

Speaker 6 (18:03):
The clip, if you missed it, shows comedian excuse me,
comedian Billy Eichner as a little elf who steals Maria's
beauty products, prompting her to freeze him with her voice
and take flight in a sleigh across the winter Wonderland
setup that ties into Sephora's holiday campaign. She continues to
reinforce her status as the Queen of Christmas, and this

(18:24):
partnership with Sephora obviously aligns with her you know, her
brand and all things holiday. And Sophie Turner and cold
Play singer Chris Martin. We talked about this a couple
of days ago, but they have now been on multiple
dates in London after they both recently ended relationships. I'm
hearing there is a spark and they've connected over being

(18:45):
British and their.

Speaker 10 (18:46):
Love of music, which like I guess the bar is
on the floor, which yoh, we're both American estate. This
is she broke up with that aristocrat, remember, and he
was with Dakota Johnson. But this is crazy because when
she was with Joe Jonas, she had openly had a
crush on Chris Martin and Joe arranged for Chris to

(19:07):
sent her a happy birthday message.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Joe's got to.

Speaker 6 (19:10):
Be like, what the hell, man, your crush now you're
with them, so that's kind of got to suck. But
I'm sure Joe is doing just fine. If you want

Speaker 1 (19:24):
The Fread Show is on Fred's Fun Fact Fred Fond
learn so much. Let's learn so much, guys.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
We've probably all experienced phantom phone vibrations, yes, where you
think your phone's going off, but it's really not going off,
as a phenomenon where individuals perceive that their phone is
vibrating or ringing when there's actually no notification. This can
occur due to sensory misinterpretation, where the brain misinterprets muscles, spasms,
or others stimuli as phone vibrations, which can be influenced

(20:00):
by habit and expectations. Studies indicate that nearly ninety percent
of people reported experiencing this at least one time a week,
highlighting its relevance among smartphone users. The phenomenon is linked
to tech induced anxiety and the increasing reliance on technology,
suggesting that our brains might now be conditioned to anticipate
the phone alerts even when they're not present. It is

(20:23):
not a medical condition, but increased stress levels and excessive
smartphone usage have been found to be associated with higher
phantom vibration sensations.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
That's real.

Speaker 9 (20:33):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I have that with email too, like
just steady refreshing emails because I'm expecting emails to come.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
You think they're going to come in.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
You're waiting for Oprah to email you and tell you
about that show on the own network, right, Yeah, sometimes
I think about that too, to be honest, Like it'll
be Saturday, It'll be like four in the afternoon and
I'll realize only my mom has texted me that day,
and I'll be like this, no, like noes, no one
love me actually, or like you know, like is it normal?

Speaker 1 (20:59):
Would people have?

Speaker 2 (20:59):
No? I only received many text messages of use by
that time of the day or snow maybe I don't know.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
More Fred Show next, This is the fread Show.

Speaker 2 (21:10):

We're reading in our diaries, except we say them aloud.
We call them blogs. Paulina, you got one go.

Speaker 1 (21:44):
Thank you so much, dear blog.

Speaker 3 (21:46):
So one thing about me is when I got a
song on repeats, it's not only in my head, but
it's coming out of my mouth where I repeat the song,
I'm singing something or a saying something is always just
looping in my head and then it does come out loud.
Daughter is no exception. She's the same way, and she's
discovering music right. So now we have to play music

(22:06):
and music this music that her godfather is my best
friend Jonathan, and her godfathers around a lot. We do
a lot of things together, and she's around and he's around,
everyone's around, and he plays this song every day. It's
one of his favorite songs. It's from Legally Blonde. When
they open the movie, it's called perfect Day. Yeah, okay,
perfect Day is like his song this is it's a

(22:29):
little after Now. My daughter is screaming at me every morning,
every night, he's the word of day, perfect day, Like,
I'm sick of this song.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
I'm sick of it. Just a face, tell me to
have my who so we have Jonathan to thank for this?

Speaker 5 (22:49):
Yes, perfect day?

Speaker 10 (22:53):
Yeah damn.

Speaker 1 (22:58):
And does to kind of like mumble the word long.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
Oh yeah, she doesn't know anything about the perfect day.

Speaker 8 (23:04):
Really, don't go.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
She's screaming though at me in the car. I can't
kick on the phone no more.

Speaker 2 (23:09):
Oh yeah no, probably may do that too, except it's like,
what was the last one we did that with? Polly
calls it the the Mommy Bubba song, and it's Russell
Dickerson whichever that new one was called whatever?

Speaker 1 (23:22):
The one? Which one happened to me? That happened to me?

Speaker 2 (23:25):
And I'm like, and Polly's old enough to know the words,
but she just know what she's saying, and I'm just like,
I can't I'm trying to think of the words that
right now on top of my head. But we were
in the car singing it, and I'm like, I don't
know if you should say that, but you know that's fine.
But yeah, no that they get hooked on a song
and then and then it's just on repeat. They want
it all the time, you know, every time. And I
love this song.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
It's cute, but like now I get the whole like
Baby Shark people when that came out and everybody was
so sick of it because it's just on repeat all
the time. It never stops. So that's where I'm at
with this. So I'm trying to see what song next
week can introduce her to. I'm sure Britney Spears will
be there at some point because it's Jonathan's playlist in
my car, only Jonathan's playlist, not mine. She doesn't know
any of my music. I know, it's all uncle Jonathan.

(24:07):
So we'll see who's next on the list. But I
think it's just so cute because like she's becoming such
a person now, she's got her own song.

Speaker 2 (24:15):
She likes, right, It's a wild thing to see especially
and I mean you see it every day, so I'm
sure the progression while it's amazing, like maybe it's I'm
not going to say it's not as significant. But when
I see my nieces every couple of months, it's like,
you know, when did Polly become a teenager?

Speaker 8 (24:30):
Exactly?

Speaker 1 (24:31):
It's like where did you learn that?

Speaker 2 (24:32):
Like you're like full sentences, full thoughts, sense of humor,
like what is happening?

Speaker 1 (24:38):
Yeah, she likes Target, she likes Hooters. She likes home
Depot like her mom home Depot.

Speaker 4 (24:47):
That's right.

Speaker 1 (24:48):
Jonathan's playlist
