which is extremely seasonal, so December to March is whenever.

go to this place. But then like literally they turned

stoplights off the rest of these like nobody's there, Like
only very few restaurants are open. And they don't insulate
the houses because no one they're not intended to be
lived in year round really, So my aunts she has
this amazing house, but it's like, you know, all modern
and concrete and block and whatever, but they didn't bother
to put insulation in it because they didn't really think
anyone would live there all the time. So it's cold.

I did love it. I did love it. And then
in Brazil it was sixty degrees and I'm walking around
in a short sleeved shirt and people are wearing parkas
and they're looking at me like what kind of moron

was amazing sixty degrees. I'm walking around the park. I'm like,
this is I could wear shorts today. It was so nice.
But people were acting like it was so cold, Like
do you know where I'm from. Yeah, I don't.

when you're that close to the equator, it's always hot.

was It was a real range of emotions because everyone
had left the airport at this point and it's just
me and this girl. Her name was Tatiana, which is
not really a I didn't think an Uruguayan name, but okay,
and we're just standing there. And then she had a
little radio and then she'd be like, oh they found it,
Oh good, Oh wait no they didn't. Now you gotta understand.
Here's what was confusing from me. There's one plane on

the the entire airport, one airplane. I can see it,
and from there to where the baggage claim was was
about fifty feet. How did we not know?

So you know it was on the plane for sure, No.

No, no, no no, But I'm saying like I could see
them on you could physically I could probably walk to
the person and get my own bag if I wanted
to do. Right. So when it's like, how did we Oh,

did it get lost? In the fifty So it turns
out it was never there, wow, in Brazil the whole time,

but they only fly there in the off season on
Tuesdays or on Thursdays and Sundays, so it was Sunday,
so there was no way it was coming until Thursday,
no matter. So she was looking at me like what
do we do? And she was like, well, this isn't good,
Like what do you mean it is that good? Like
what what do you mean right? Like either they got
like a boat, they got a boat, or you know,

another kind of airplane or somebody else you can get
like a horse, I mean somebody. Yeah, you know, nothing's
going to happen till Thursday. Then that's if we find it,
like we mean, if you find like, where did it go?

So I had what I had on and then I
went to the mall, and I bought a Lady Gaga
shirt because that was one of the few options that
there were.

I wear it for a couple of days. I bought
a number of I found like an old navy of
of of Uruguay, and I purchased a number of things,
and that was one of the options. It was that
or a Garfield shirt because apparently, which I almost went
for the Garfield shirt. The Garfield's big there, apparently. And
then I bought a sock a sweatshirt of the of
a soccer team. I said, well, I mean I might

actually keep that, and then I found out that like
fifty it was almost like cub socks in Chicago. So
everywhere I went people were either like, yeah, you suck
American because I'm already eight feet tall, and you know
from this it's like pissed half the big I thought
it was like the national team. It turns out it
was I didn't know. I didn't know what. I have

no idea because I didn't I didn't really have choices,
and so people like it would be like me wearing
a socks shirt around and not knowing what I you know,
going to Wrigleyville or something if you're from Chicago and
everyone's like, what are you doing? I didn't know because
I didn't have a choice. I just tried to buy
things I might want to have in the future.

They don't play about their soccer in South America.

So half the people were like, oh, great choice, and
half the people were like saying things to me. I
didn't know what they meant. They weren't nice. Someone said,
put air tags in your suitcase. Well, that would be helpful,
except all that would have told me is they was.
And then they started texting me like at three in
the morning. I don't know why they'd found it. Three
in the morning. The airlines text me three in the

morning in Portuguese. So now I'm on Google Translate three
in the morning trying to go back and forth. I mean,
it was just it was a real adventure. But it
finally showed up and everything was there, and they were
very nice about it. As another thing Portuguese is that's
a and Brazil. They don't play like. They don't let
me say something. I'm not that American guy that thinks
that they should speak English everywhere, because they shouldn't. They

don't have to it's their country. They don't have to
speak English, but they don't and they don't care to,
and they don't bother and they kind of look at
you like you're an idiot because you don't speak Portuguese,
which I don't think they understand how difficult Portuguese. Like
I finally got some English speaking people to be like, hey,
you can't just pick this up, like you have to

move your mouth and your tongue in a way that like,
if you speak English, you're just not from if you
speak Portuguese, I think you know what I'm talking about
it and your dad does.

Yeah, my stepdad's fluid, he actually thinks.

So I was like saying to him, I think Spanish
is so much easier to learn because you and I
learned Spanish. And he thought that Portuguese was so much
easier to learn because he learned it when he was

by somebody I didn't know agua, and I'm like, you
guys are quit playing with me, because if I had said,
guess another thing is don't try and speak Spanish to
them because they don't speak Spanish. They speak Portuguese. And
so I think people see the words like in the
airport on the signs and they're like, Okay, I got
this because I know some Spanish. But then they're like, hey, moron,

we speak Portuguese here, not Spanish. Just stopped trying to
act like we're all the same. And then it becomes
this like sort of cultural like you're ignorant. But it's
not that I minger it and anyone's ignorant. Maybe I
think a lot of people are ignorant, but I think
it's because the words look the same.
