Speaker 1 (00:00):
Anwen's Entertainment Report and he's on The Fresh show Man.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
This funned me out so much.
Speaker 3 (00:04):
Yesterday, Dolly Parton's husband, Carl Dean, has passed away at
the age of eighty two after nearly sixty years of marriage.
And for those who don't know, Dolly actually met Dean
the day she moved to Nashville at eighteen years old.
Speaker 4 (00:19):
Last thing I want is a boyfriend. I got it,
you know, because I'm leaving two boyfriends here and I
kept saying, no, I'm going to Nashville. And the very
day I got to Nashville, I met Carldeane. And sixty
years later, I'm still with Carldinge. You know, he's quiet
and I'm loud. We're funny. Oh, he's hilarious. And I
think one of the things that's made it last so
long through the years is we love each other. We
respect each other, but we have a lot of fun
(00:41):
and we never fought back and forth.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
What do you think was the most important but sometimes
overlooked aspect of you and Carl's relationship.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
Well, he was a homebody and that worked well for us.
He left go places if we were going to drive
cross country or go if we had planned thing, but boy,
he never could wait to get home. He doesn't even
like to go out to big dinners or anything like that.
So we even own anniversaries and stuff like that, we
usually stay home, make something special, or go to McDonalds
(01:10):
and go somewhere. We want to go to this comfortable
Now we will go to Mexican restaurants. He does sitting
in a booth and do that. He loves that. You know,
we'll go sit in a booth, like if it's an
anniversary or just sometimes on a Saturday, we just go on.
We know where to go when before the crowd comes.
He doesn't like big crowds. He's just special to me
and I just love him like a oh.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
I believe that was Jelly Roll's wife, Bunny talking, by
the way, if I could recognize the voice.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
But a lot of people didn't know she was married.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
And I love that for her because she was always
out and about and like she said, he was very
opposite of her, and it worked so much for them.
The pair got married two years later after they met,
when she was eighteen.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
The rest was history, of course.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
She also once said that she was surprised and delighted
while he was talking to her, that he was looking
at her face instead of her yallos.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
That would be hard to do with that woman right
the way. There's a lot going on there, but.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
Yeah, and she said he seemed really interested in finding
out who I was and what I was about. In
a statement yesterday, she said, Carl and I spent many
wonderful years together. Words can't do justice to the love
we shared over sixty years.
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
If you didn't know, he actually inspired her classic song
Joe Lean after a flirty bank teller was talking to
him and she imagined the whole song and the rest,
like I said, was history.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
So all right, Pey Carl, I knew she was married.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Too, but I don't think I've ever seen this man before,
And that's got to be hard to be to have
a wife who's that famous and that beautiful and talented,
and to stay behind the scenes like that for sixty years.
Speaker 2 (02:37):
And they made it work. Yeah, Mayor, it's really sweet.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
I know.
Speaker 2 (02:40):
I love their marriage.
Speaker 3 (02:42):
After internet trolls said Millie Bobby Brown was aging badly,
the Stranger Thing star fired back, saying she's like Anna
apologize for growing up Millie, who's now twenty one newly
wet I should say, said I grew up in front
of the world, and for some reason, people can't seem
to grow with me, and said they act like I'm
supposed to say, frozen in time, like I should look
the way I did on Stranger Things season one, and
because I don't, now I'm a target. And she cited
(03:03):
all these articles that were criticizing her for the way
she was aging or talking about what work she may
have done to her face.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
She said, this isn't journalism, this is bullying.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
The fact that adult writers are spending their time dissecting
my face, my body, my choices is disturbing, and the
fact that some of these articles are written by women
even worse. And despite all the hate, she said, she
is not going to apologize for growing up. She wants
everyone to do better for young girls who deserve to
grow up without a fear of being torn apart. Now,
to me, she does look different, but not in terms
(03:31):
of aging. She very much dyed her hair blonde and
got a specific haircut, and it's obvious to me that
she still really wants to play Britney Spears in a
movie about her However, word is that Brittany isn't on
board with Millie playing her. Apparently she doesn't see the
resemblance and doesn't believe she has what it takes to
play her after seeing an audition tape. She's actually Brittany's
heavily involved in this movie.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
Now.
Speaker 3 (03:53):
Britt hasn't talked with Millie directly, but people are saying,
you know, if she was right for the role, she
would have already gotten it. And people are saying that
Millie is trying to use her father in law, John
bon Jovi's connections to help her get that damn role,
and I don't even think that's working. Universal Studios, by
the way, won the rights to produce that movie, and
John m Chu who did Wicked amongst a lot of
other amazing projects, has signed on to direct it.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
So the movie will be good.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
We don't know when it's going to be out or
who's playing Brittany, but Millie is certainly trying with that
new blonde hair. By the way, if you missed any
