Speaker 3 (00:44):
Warner Brothers is making a movie called With the Eighth
Pick question Mark, about Kobe Bryant's entry into the nineteen
ninety six NBA draft. The movie focuses on how the
New Jersey Nets Front Office, which had the eighth pick
and wanted Kobe, but financial issues and Kobe's preference for
the Lakers got in the way, So I guess that

(01:04):
was a whole I did not know that.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
I'm learning this right now.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
They're describing it as a draft a thriller, similar to
like Moneyball or an air.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
God by the Hornets.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Actually wasn't he and then traded to the Lakers on
non draftne I believe it was.

Speaker 4 (01:17):
I will trust you.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
I could have been a Hornet, I think so. I
believe you.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
I am not a basketball girly.

Speaker 3 (01:23):
But I did not know that he the Nets wanted
him and he didn't want to go there.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
He was drafted by these Shawtt Hornets with the thirteenth pick.
Can you believe that twelve people went over him?

Speaker 1 (01:37):
WHOA, that's you know that happens. And that was like.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
You hear that every now and again, where like certain
players don't want to go to certain teams, so they
say I won't play if you draft me, and that
whole thing.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
So don't draft me. That's crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
Eli Manning did that. He didn't want to be drafted
by the Chargers. I think it was he wanted to
be a Giant, so I think he got drafted by
the Chargers maybe, and then he was like, I'm not
going to go there. I don't remember, but yeah, sometimes
people will flex like that. But Kobe could have been
a hornet at the thirteenth pick.

Speaker 4 (02:07):
Everything would have been different.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
I feel like in the NBA, I guess the movie
focuses more on like the business side of the draft
rather than his playing career. The movie is also produced
by Tom Brady's company, and of course the title refers
to the next pick that could have changed everything, but
it didn't end up happening. Speaking of movies, K Pop
Demon Hunter was dominating the box office over the weekend

(02:30):
with an eighteen million dollar debut. That movie was released
on Netflix back on like June twentieth, I think, but
gained a ton of popularity since its release, with several
of its songs making it onto the Billboard charts and
making it one of Netflix's most watched films of all time.
I actually talked to the K pop group twice who
are on the soundtrack, and that's on the Fred Show

(02:53):
on demand channel on the.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
iHeartRadio app if you want to hear it.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
By the way, if we're talking about movies, running out
the top five weapons, Freaky Er Friday, The Fantastic Four,
First Steps and The Bad Guys two That is the
top five over the weekend. Drake and podcaster Bobby Althoff.
She's the girl who's like very dry in her interviews,
kind of makes a mockery of interviewing people. I guess,
for lack of a better way to say it, we're

(03:17):
supposedly in some sort of feud after they did her
podcast from his bed and then apparently like she went
to his show and she didn't get VIP. I don't
know if I believe any of that was real because
now they're back in bed again since he's her new
podcast called Not This Again.

Speaker 4 (03:33):
So if it was a real feud, they have made up.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
But they both collabed on social media and they're back
in bed.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
So I thought she was cooked. I thought she was done.

Speaker 3 (03:42):
I thought so too, But apparently she is back and
she knows how we feel about her because the podcast
is called Not This.

Speaker 4 (03:49):
Again, right, So we'll just leave that right there. But Drake,
what are we doing?

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Drake?

Speaker 1 (03:53):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Chris Martin helped a fan propose during Coldplay's show at
Wembley Stadium over the weekend. He spotted a sign that
read I want to propose, period, which is very to
the point, and after ribbing the guy for a little
saying security should check him out, the guy knelt down
to propose Chris, saying for them it was beautiful. This is,
of course, a huge difference from a month ago when
he unknowingly exposed the cheating scandal heard around the world

(04:16):
with the CEO and HR head of the tech company Astronomy.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
I read this weekend and it was an okay magazine,
so very very reliable around I don't know. I saw
it popped up on one of my feeds somewhere, so yeah,
I mean, I trust him if you have to lie.
It said something about him having spent the CEO having
spent two hundred and fifty grand on OnlyFans. Oh now again,
let's consider the source here. But you know, it turns

(04:41):
out the guy the cheats on his wife publicly with
his HR director. He may not be the most solid,
he may not be the he may not be the
greatest guy.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
It's possible such shocking.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Doesn't know, there's a sat Maybe he's a right, maybe
he's a saint of a human. But he just was
a big fan of somebody's work.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Because I could have all the money in the world.
I'm not paying for that. You know what I'm saying.
You know what I'm saying about that.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
I know what you feel me. I know what you're saying.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
I'm dancing around it. This is me not talking like
I'm here's the line. I'm staying behind the gosh fantastic maturity.

Speaker 1 (05:12):
Maturity.

Speaker 4 (05:14):
No one knows what you're talking about. No, not a
single person.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
By the way, if you want to catch up on
anything you missed from our show today or any day
type of the French show on demand and if you could
set us as a preset, it really helps.
