Speaker 1 (00:00):
A fresh show.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
It's Kiki's court hell right, see, honorable judge, Kiki is here,
al your honor.
Speaker 1 (00:07):
Yes, yes, take it away.
Speaker 3 (00:08):
Let's step in the courtroom. The gavel has been hit.
It says Happy Holidays, Fred's Show crew. Every year, my
husband and I put ourselves on the back burner for
Christmas and we spend majority of our money to make
sure that our children and family members get the gifts
that they deserve well. This year, my husband and I
decided that we were going to really make an effort
(00:29):
to prioritize each other rather than buying gifts for everyone else.
I was so excited and really looking forward to opening
gifts this year. We both created wish lists and text
each other links of things that we wanted, and our
agreement was to get at least one big gift for
each other. However, I decided to work overtime shifts as
an er nurse to be able to get everything on
(00:49):
my husband's list. On Christmas morning, I was so excited
to see what he got me, but to my surprise,
he handed me an envelope. When I opened it, it
was a receipt for a new day dishwasher.
Speaker 4 (01:01):
Call me ungrateful, but I was devastated.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
I bought him everything on his list, a gaming system,
closed shoes, very expensive Colonne, et cetera, and he completely
ignored my list and bought me a dishwasher. I could
not hide my disappointment, which led to a blowout fight
on Christmas morning. And my mother says that I'm being
extremely ungrateful, but I'm just hurt and disappointed.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
What should I do? Do I owe my husband an apology?
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Well, just like that, Yeah, you're not wrong for being disappointed.
I don't know what happened that led to a blowout
fight on Christmas. That's like, that's that had to be
horrible for the entire family, But you're not wrong for
being disappointed. And you sent this man a list of
(01:48):
things that he can choose from. Why he chose a
dishwasher is insane to me, Like, I hate this for you,
and I don't think she's wrong at all, And I
hate that her mother is telling her that she's wrong.
Like she's allowed to feel and address our feelings.
Speaker 5 (02:03):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
I mean, you guys are the Jerry eight five five
five nine one one three five you can call it
text the same number that's not a gift, right, that's
a household utility item that the house needed exactly. That's
not a gift like the house the house needs to
have that.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Don't go by me like a new freege, you know,
a new washing that's an US thing.
Speaker 2 (02:22):
Like you can't even sell the house with a broken dishwatch,
you know what I'm saying, Like, that's not that's not
a present. That was we needed this anyway, and so
now I'm gonna spend the money on this that I
also didn't want to have to spend money on a
gift for you too.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Right, like he really thought he did his big as one.
He handed her an hour loan like it's coming, it's
gonna be delivered your new dishwasher and appliance.
Speaker 2 (02:44):
I but I've heard of people like saying, Okay, this year,
we're not gonna buy each other gifts because we need
the money for this. And that's a joint decision, right.
And then what you can't do is then turn around
and go buy somebody at present anyway.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
And then.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
And then and then it be like, well, you know
you should have subliminally you should have read the room,
like how can you go to Christmas at a president.
It's like, no, if you agree no gifts, they're no gifts,
Like that's that's not fair. But this is not a present.
This is not a gift. This this should have been.
Maybe we have to we have a conversation. We're gonna
have to downscale the gifts that you're both of us
because I'm getting you know, we're getting a dishwasher for
(03:23):
the house, but then for him to go do that
and then for her to go buy him everything he wanted.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
She worked extra shifts in the er, like my girl
deserved a nice person.
Speaker 4 (03:34):
Mon was on her list.
Speaker 6 (03:35):
And yeah, the dishwasher throws me off too, because to me,
it's like you're just telling me, like, get to work.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
That's how I see it.
Speaker 7 (03:40):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 4 (03:41):
Maybe we both do dishes.
Speaker 6 (03:42):
I don't know what their arrangement is, but like to me,
it's like the vacuum cleaner, it's like you're telling me
to get to work. It's a new term that I
learned from TikTok weaponize incompetence.
Speaker 5 (03:50):
Oh yeah, no, they've been doing that for years. Oh
maybe I can't fold the towels as good as you can.
It's like you can't do it, so you can figure
it out.
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Weaponize incompetence.
Speaker 5 (04:00):
Yeah right, it's a big word. I don't know how
to do right.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
Uh huh yeah, I mean it will then learn how
to do.
Speaker 5 (04:06):
It right, figure it out and I can do it,
so can you.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
And I know men go through this too sometimes, Like
somebody just text in that, you know, you buy your
husband a lot more. You know, you buy him a
tool set, like he may want that, but probably not.
You know, you can't buy stuff for people to get
to work for you.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
You know, it's right, well, and again, it would be
one thing if they made the decision to that. Neither
one of them are getting the traditional gifts because we
have to spend money on this because we don't have
a ton of money because money is tight, and you know,
we need this for the house, got family, whatever, dirty dishes,
so we're doing this. But for him to say, you know,
(04:42):
here's all the stuff I want, knowing that he's going
to buy a community gift, right and then give it
to her like it's some kind of present.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Is that fight with her when she's just like disappointed
about it, And let's talk about.
Speaker 1 (04:54):
The mom here.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Yeah, again, the whole key is that she worked extra
to buy him luxury gifts for her, then to only
receive I.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
Don't like it. I don't like it at all. Tax
seven seventy three.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
My wife bought me a vacuum's work was a di?
Speaker 1 (05:14):
If it's a nice was it a di? I want
to know for sure? Take that?
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Yeah, I love a dice.
Speaker 5 (05:19):
Yeah, if you want it, it's fine, but you have
to ask for it. I think I.
Speaker 8 (05:23):
Agree, But I also look at like the present is
like I don't have to get up on a Saturday morning,
go to the home depot, spend hours picking out a dishwasher,
like sign all the paperwork like, that's part of the
gift too, But you don't need to do our own
words is on the floor, Okay, Yeah, I hate doing dishes,
(05:44):
so I would love it dishwasher?
Speaker 1 (05:46):
What as opposed to like something? Well, what do you
have a bunch of money? Didn't you?
Speaker 8 (05:52):
Is that what he does for you? He gives you cash?
What do you give him? I bought him clothes and
a coat and shirts and stuff. Yeah, stuff that I
know that he would like. I can't give him no cash.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
So well you can't? You just turn ahead?
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Problem solved eight five by Cheryl.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
Good morning, Good morning, Cheryl, so Kiki's court.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
This dude asked for a whole bunch of stuff, his
wife worked extra as an er nurse, got him all
the stuff he wanted, and then what does she get
on Christmas Day?
Speaker 1 (06:24):
A dishwasher?
Speaker 9 (06:27):
Well, I mean, I want to know, was the dishwasher
on her list?
Speaker 7 (06:32):
I would love awasher?
Speaker 4 (06:34):
It wasn't on her list, Sheryl, it was.
Speaker 9 (06:36):
Not okays the case. I feel like maybe she should
have because it was her choice to get all of
the stuff on his list. That was not the rules
that they originally set up, right, So I'm not saying
I'm on his side, but I feel like this was
a communication thing that they probably should have talked about beforehand,
and she shouldn't have skewed from the rules because while yes,
(06:58):
it would be nice to get something that was on
her list, if the dishwasher was on her list, then
that's different. But if it wasn't, Like I would love
a dishwasher, just like I'm like what he said, I
hate doing dishes. I would love it. But if that's
not what she wanted and he got something for the house,
I don't think that's cool. She should have not like
had a blown out fight like you guys would however
(07:20):
it occurred. But I mean, she's the one that went
above and beyond to get all of the gifts that
was not his, that wasn't the rules. Like, she's the
one that went out of the whatever stipulation that they
had had, and for her to feel disappointed is fair
because it wasn't on her list. But then at the
same time, it's hard because he only knew that we
(07:42):
were only buying one big gift for.
Speaker 7 (07:44):
Each other and that's it.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
I hope for Valentize that he gets her a shaky
thing because yeah, well she gonna she won't be needing
him for anything.
Speaker 1 (07:56):
Thank you, Eryl, have a great day.
Speaker 7 (07:58):
You're welcome. Love you, guys, best, love.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
You, glad you call it. Thank you for listening. Hi, Diane,
how you doing.
Speaker 7 (08:03):
Hey, good morning, guys.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Happy to know your good morning. So we agree this
is ridiculous.
Speaker 7 (08:08):
It is beyond ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
That's a household item.
Speaker 7 (08:11):
I get it.
Speaker 9 (08:11):
Maybe there should have been a different way she should
have taken it and said, you know, look, honey, I'm appreciative,
but this is a household item that we get together,
not my Christmas.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Gift them I'm with you.
Speaker 5 (08:23):
You buy on a Tuesday, like you don't buy it
for Christmas?
Speaker 4 (08:27):
Pick up my own damn dish washing. Yeah, may I
got to be the one to use it. I need
to pick out what I like.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Well, that's true too, that's correct.
Speaker 10 (08:33):
Was it.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
Samsung LG?
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Yeah, thank you, Diane, have a good Day's unacceptable.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
Nobody on the tex said their husband bought them a
toilet seat for Valentine's Day.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Oh my god, that's that's straight to the divorce court
for me.
Speaker 8 (08:53):
But that's also cheap. A toilet seat and appliances. That's
a that's a pretty penny you have to pay. What
about a day?
Speaker 2 (09:00):
If somebody bought you a mid day now hold on, know,
would you be like this is a luxury item or
would you be like, I'm offended? You trying to say
that things are right? Are you trying to say stuff
in all good? I'd be like, you're trying to get
down to something. I'd be like, hell, yeah, give it
this the day?
Speaker 1 (09:13):
What youre trying to do?
Speaker 2 (09:14):
I feel like if somebody gave me a bidet, Like
if I'm dating somebody and they just give me a biday,
which if you don't know what a biday is. I
barely know what it is, but it's like a it's
a well. And now they have like a you can
put on top of your toilet so you can make
your toilet a biday like in Japan or whatever. But
it like sprays stuff in places and it gets everything
real nice and you know whatever. But if you gave
(09:37):
me that, I'd be like, what what are you saying?
I would be inspecting myself at every angle. I'd be
in the bending over in the mirror, looking everywhere to
kind of see what it is that.
Speaker 4 (09:46):
You wait, what did you see?
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Right?
Speaker 3 (09:48):
Like?
Speaker 2 (09:48):
We didn't like, we didn't talk about how nice that
would be to have you just show up with it
one day. I wouldn't, right, Like, I wouldn't want to
be the dude who comes home one day and is like,
this is for you, right, and it's a cleaning product
for your butt and another region.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
So that's not good? Hey, Linda, how you doing? I'm
doing good, Linda. So Kiki's court.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
This dude he bought his wife a dishwasher for Christmas,
and she bought him like a video game system and
everything else he wanted, like fun stuff.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
What the hell?
Speaker 7 (10:23):
Well, for my birthday one year, he bought me a
carvack and a car that said that the fire department
had to put out the candles on my cake. We
had a fire a couple of years before, so that
wasn't cool. Plus he's older than me. And then for
a carmack, I said, why would you buy me this?
He goes, well, you like your car vacuum. I said them,
(10:45):
take it and vacuum in. So I left it on
his dresser and I said, I want another gift by me,
something else.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Yeah that's right, girl, I know that's right.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Car vacuum.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
So then you're trying to aid Shamie and you're older
than me like this man is why we got there together.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
Yes, thank you, have a good day. I guess he
ain't so bad. She didn't leave him for that. She
was mad. She was mad. Hey, Ashley, good morning, welcome, Hi,
good morning, So what say you?
Speaker 10 (11:17):
I definitely think she's not wrong to be disappointed. My
husband was pretty similar with gift giving, so I approached
it differently. And I do want need wear read for
all holidays and birthdays.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Now wait, hold on those two. There's one more time.
What is it.
Speaker 10 (11:33):
Want need where? And read, something you want, something you need,
something to wear, and something to read.
Speaker 1 (11:40):
Oh okay, I like that. All right, come more of those.
Speaker 10 (11:45):
Oh I got your socks moments. Okay, yeah, that's something
I needed, but something I want to and maybe a
little something.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Extra there you go, all right, thank you, have a
good day.
Speaker 10 (11:54):
Thanks you to someone did.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Get a good day.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Hell six three Oh I get a Dave for my
birthday for my husband and I loved it. But I
had been saying, that's what I want. Okay, that is
an important element here exactly.
Speaker 1 (12:10):
Chris. How are you doing, Chris? Good morning, Welcome, good morning,
how are you all? Hey, what do you want to say? Welcome?
Thanks for calling, for listening.
Speaker 7 (12:17):
I just wanted to say that I've been married for
a long time, forty four years, and I will say
that you know, it's not worth fighting over.
Speaker 1 (12:26):
You just live and learn.
Speaker 7 (12:28):
Everybody will show you who they are and so then
that's what you do. You buy yourself gifts and maybe
get him a little pair of socks, and that's the
end of the day. I'm going to spend my money
on me, and that's that's how I feel about it.
Speaker 2 (12:42):
Yeah, next year, next year, it's like just give me
the credit card, or I'll just take it upon myself
together I want. I don't trust you anymore. Thank you, Chris,
You're welcome. Have a great day. Hey, Matt, good morning,
Good morning. See now Matt, you got you're onto something here,
because he did present her with a receipt, didn't he
He did for the dishes.
Speaker 11 (13:01):
You know, so you know everything is like thirty days,
so you know, instead of calling in the fight, I
would have just smiled, you know, said oh thank you,
wait to say he was at work, and then took
it back and be like, you know what I did?
Speaker 10 (13:12):
Someone was wrong with it, wrong color or something.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
Because I mean they're expensive, they're probably what I mean, gene,
I don't know how much of dish washer.
Speaker 11 (13:20):
Having, probably like they could they could be a pretty peny,
you know, so you can actually take it back and
then go get what you like and they be like,
you know what.
Speaker 7 (13:29):
I changed my mind?
Speaker 11 (13:30):
You know I really didn't want it, and then you
he would have been like, okay, you know, guys don't
really have problem with you doing stuff like that, because
she would feel that he at least he got you
something and you could just change it back.
Speaker 2 (13:39):
See that'd be funny. He comes home and there's a
bunch of dirty dishes in the in the sink, and
she got like a brand new bag, right, you know
she got she got Gucci or whatever.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
It's like, where'd you get that?
Speaker 2 (13:50):
Well, uh, from washing dishes.
Speaker 11 (13:54):
And then you could have said, and then she could
have said, you know what, I did get some diss
so for you.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Yes, there you have it. I think that's problems. Matt
solved the problem. Thank you, Matt.
Speaker 7 (14:04):
You're welcome.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
Have a good day. I'm glad you called. Let's do
