Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jason Brown from The Fred Show.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
And we are here backstage a lot of palooza, thinks
to my friend's Innovation's high School.
Speaker 1 (00:04):
I'm here with Gig Perez. How are you today?
Speaker 3 (00:06):
I'm great?
Speaker 1 (00:06):
How are you good?
Speaker 2 (00:07):
You have the get up of every Look at your
boots like you are always you were serving today like
we're going a little western?
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Is that the vibe? What is the yes?
Speaker 3 (00:16):
It seems so.
Speaker 4 (00:18):
I mean when it when it came to uh putting
things together. I'm doing a collaboration with Tollister jeens On
and you know, leather jacket and a little time top
and you know.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
I love it. I wanted to work there so bad
when I was in high school. So can you give
me a job there now?
Speaker 4 (00:38):
Maybe? Honestly, I feel like, okay, okay, okay, you got people.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
I got people now. Okay. So I am a new
fan of yours, but I'm obsessed. Okay.
Speaker 2 (00:51):
I use your album as my perfect driving playlist.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
So I live like an hour from the station.
Speaker 2 (00:57):
But like, and my drive is very sacred to me
because I'm very much like you know, that's my time
to unwind, relax, meditate. But like you had the perfect
driving album, like your vibe is everything, and I want
to sort of and this is such like an atypical question,
but for you, I really want to know because I
do feel like you You're different from everything out right now,
(01:17):
what do you look for for your like inspiration for
your music? Because it's chill, it's vibe, but the lyrics
are so deep and it's I'm such a sad girl inside,
Like you just give me everything I need.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
So what where do you pull that from?
Speaker 3 (01:28):
You know?
Speaker 4 (01:29):
I think that I think my grief has shaped a
lot of my writing and my experiences, and so I
feel like it's kind of like the well that doesn't stop.
Speaker 3 (01:38):
It's a bottomless well.
Speaker 1 (01:40):
And are we all that's so real?
Speaker 4 (01:42):
Yeah, it is a bottom as well. Yeah, So I
think that's kind of like where it comes from. And
just honestly, uh, reflecting on Yeah, you know, I've since
I've figured out what writing was when I was fifteen
and you know, making little poems and stuff. I think
then I just went down the rabbit hole and it
didn't stop.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
So that's where we're at.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
Well, one thing about you that I just want to
give your flowers real quick is everything is so authentic, right,
Like you could tell from your music to the lyrics
to the production, like it's just so good and you
could just tell that, like you're one of the artists
that we really want to back and like prop up
because you deserve it, because it's so authentic and you're
just you and I love it, and that's me guessing
you up.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
So I'm done with that. Now you're on tour.
Speaker 2 (02:23):
You just played some shows here with Hozier, Right, how
is that tour going?
Speaker 3 (02:28):
I mean it's amazing. How's your is the best?
Speaker 4 (02:30):
So I think that really just sets the tone because
he's such an amazing person. Yeah, and then you know,
getting to watch him every night and I feel like
something to just divine happens when he opens his mouth.
I'm so serious and uh yeah, and just getting to
sing with him too, Like it's just really been a
real big blessing.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
How uh Being on the road when you're this is
my favorite question because I'm always like, you know, I
love a good gas station snack. One of my mind
when you're on the road and you're just a little hungry,
you're gonna pull over, what are you what's your favorite
snack to get when you're on the road.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
I'm kind of boring. I'm trying to think right now.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
We're very, very big on cucumbers, but you can't really get.
Speaker 3 (03:08):
A gas station.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
But I don't trust them, you know.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
I never had to pick on the back. I don't
think I'm ever gonna have to pick on the back.
But I understand, like, I get it, do your thing,
Do your thing, girl. But I would say I go
for like a Lacroix Lemonchello if they have it, Okay.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
I'm here for that. What's your Laala experience? Like you
slaid the stage?
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Oh my god?
Speaker 4 (03:32):
Right, yeah, I mean it's unbelievable. I I couldn't. I
really felt like I was like in a simulation in
a good way, in a good way. I was very present,
but I was just like, yeah, damn, I'm really here
looking at my hand.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Yeah, like you are. You are, like this is your time,
Like this is cc that you're blowing up. This is
so awesome for you.
Speaker 3 (03:50):
It was very surreal.
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Yeah, I feel like I'm honestly, I'm just taking it
in as as I go, and yeah, that the experience
is amazing. And I felt very close to the people
you know that were that were there showed up for
the music.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Yeah, they were there, they were engaged, Like I got
to catch a little bit of it.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
And your live show is.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Just like you sound just like you do on the record,
if not better, And that's amazing. Like I want to
give you your problems because not everyone can do that.
That's awesome. So what's coming up? So are you still
on the Hosier tour or Okay?
Speaker 4 (04:28):
So I'm I have like I feel like we have
probably like fourteen shows or something like that. We have
a little bit left doing some festivals and then at
the end of the year, I'm going to do a
headline run.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Okay, and then we need more Chicago shows.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
So I know, I know enough, but we need more.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
Okay, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
I'm trying to remember. I don't know if it's announced yet.
Speaker 1 (04:49):
Okay, So I don't want to get you in trouble,
but I'm just putting my requestion. Yeah, okay, now we're
talking back. Okay, Yeah, oh my god. Okay.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
So at the Beach and Every Life is the album
right now, check it out. We're gonna do a little
f little activity with my little Boo boo. Are you ready?
Speaker 3 (05:01):
Okay, let's go.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
This is my little booboo.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Bucket of questions, and my little Boo Boo wrote some
questions for you. So you're gonna pick them and I'll
answer it with you, so you're not just talking about yourself. Okay,
so pick your first question out of my bucket.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
Okay, the lab Boo boo bucket.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
What does it say? What did thea booboo give you.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Your most used emoji?
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Ooh, okay, what's my most used emoji? So mine is
the hand hearts right now?
Speaker 2 (05:26):
Okay, just because I just respond to everybody, I feel
like I don't Yeah, can I look.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
At my phone because actually, because I can't.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Like, whatever is that first top left emoji?
Speaker 3 (05:37):

Speaker 1 (05:37):
I got you because somehow mine, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
I feel just feel like it, like the Handhart's a
good response to everything. I'm like, yeah, got it? Cool,
bless you, you know, be good, be safe.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
Okay, give me like the top three, the top three, Yeah,
the crying one.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Okay, like the oh you can't see it.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
Down smiley face, Like it's not really smiling, it's more
like a slimmerk.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
Yeah, it's kind of like when you're in deep ship.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Yeah, like I'm crashing out right now, yeah, Smiley is
upside out.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
And then I have the other one that is also crying.
I have a eye. I have an eye. Okay, I
have a tongue sticking out in the star. That's like,
what's happening.

Speaker 1 (06:28):

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Okay, I know we have a let in our hands
right now. I'm sorry, so we had to do the
Little Boo bo bucket. One more question from the Little
Booo Bucket.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
If I were to get arrested, what would it be for?
Speaker 4 (06:36):
Oh my goodness, no, Actually, like I am like scared,
like I I know that, Like I don't even so.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
On my show, I'm the only one that doesn't have
a mug shot. So that's like my little party trick.
I almost got arrested once as a kid, but like
it didn't happen. I got away.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
I'm trying to think, like, well, one time, okay, okay,
but in when I.
Speaker 4 (06:57):
Was in middle school, I was accused of I literally
accuse was like accused, I'm stealing a pair of jeans
from this girl that I literally didn't steal.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
What happened.
Speaker 4 (07:05):
I accidentally put it in my bag out of PM,
but they didn't believe me, Like.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
I swear, like I don't think the record.
Speaker 3 (07:14):
I literally have like never stolen anything.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
Yeah, I feel like to what's really plausible is like
I would like if I see something in a store,
I might grab it, and then I might like I'm
not doing a purpose, but I might have so absent
I might just walk out with it. I didn't mean
to steal the butterfingers.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
Yeah, you know, No, I get it. I was suspended
for it, so like it was a big deal. I
kind of was ostracized in six D because of that. No, yeah,
I know, it's whatever. Okay, it's okay, the next song
at it and then last one.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
Ready. Do you believe in ghost girl?
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (07:44):
Honestly, every day, the the like what is possible? And
like my sense of reality, like I don't even know.
I feel like I don't know if ghost is a word,
but like there's something of course, like there's there's there's
something good bad, ugly, Like there's weird shit going on things.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Out there, and I used to not believe it, but
now I start seeing.
Speaker 4 (08:07):
No, I've seen too many things, like come on, there's
too much going on.
