Speaker 1 (00:29):
What Christmas Cards?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
What's your problem with Christmas cards?

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Okay, yeah, first of all, why are we sending Christmas cards?

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Like? Why?

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Why? Why are you wasting a stamp on that.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
The annual update by your life and a picture of
your family, and I get to see, you know how
little Timmy's all grown up and he's developmentally you know
in line. You get to see that, you know, maybe
and then maybe a little note about you know how
you're wishing me a great holiday, and I get to
hear that, you know, little Timmy, little Timmy is, you know,
he's varsity tennis now doing a great job. And and

(01:08):
I've wanted to know that a whole year, I've been wondering,
did you make the varsity team?

Speaker 4 (01:12):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:12):
And you couldn't just ask. You have to wait for
the Christmas ever.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
And there's always there isn't always my mom sends a
little letter with the one that she sends out, but
it's like one year. Just be honest, like like Christopher,
you know, he still has a job and we're shocked,
you know what I mean, Like like like it's always,
you know, he continues to thrive in Chicago, in the
radio state. It's like no be like, Noah, it's pretty

(01:36):
much let us down for the most part. It doesn't
come around anymore, you know, to be honest, yeah, like
that would be that would be good. But what is
your problem with Christmas cards?

Speaker 3 (01:44):
There's a couple of layers to this, so I feel like,
first of all, and there is no shade, no tea.
I just don't know what I'm supposed to do with it.
So when you send it to me, like I don't
I'm not putting it on my wall. I'm not taking
on the wall, absolutely not.

Speaker 5 (01:57):
But you're supposed to do that, like, yeah, I did
it my whole childhood, Like you put them all up
like along the wall.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Or the fireplate, and yeah, and.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
I look at him and say, it's nice to throw
them away. The only one I keep is the one
that my sister sends with the little girls. That's the
only one with my nieces. That's the only one that
I keep the rest of them, even though when my
mom's said up with me on it, I'm like, oh, look,
it's me throw it away.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
And I'm sure like when you put them on the wall,
you still throw them away after unless you keep them.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
That's just clutter.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
I'm sorry, it's putter like decoration for the Okay, it
might be decordation, but like I'm not gonna put it
on my wall.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
I'm sorry, I'm not. Like these are beautiful photos.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
But the crazy part is because it's twenty twenty five,
Like I'm gonna see this on Instagram.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
I'm gonna see the photo shoot. I'm gonna probably see
like how you guys all got ready, We're gonna see
the beat. That is a good point, actually see it already.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
So like now I haven't mailed to my house. Very thoughtful,
very kind, I will say that. And maybe I'm projecting
because like I don't do these things and I thought
I would as a mom, I'm like, oh yeah, I'm
gonna do all like the Pinterest like whatever Instagram stuff.
I don't do anything. Okay, we're lucky for we get
whyn't we have one family photo?

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Are you projecting because you don't because you don't have
pictures to send and you don't do the cards until
you're feeling like you judged potentially or something. Is that
with this?

Speaker 1 (03:04):
I think it's the part of it, but the other party.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Otherwise, why would you have such an issue with the
Christmas card?

Speaker 3 (03:08):
And then there's another layer to this true, Like to
be honest, I do feel like a lot of those
Christmas cards, you know, are a put on a little show.
You know, everyone got the matching outfits and like the
kids look great, hair slick back, but like we all know, like, okay,
you know he cheated on her last year.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
She doesn't want to be with him because X y Z.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
Like there's always a story under the family and like.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
No, that's the letter I'd like to read like I
was cheating on Tim last year, but we're trying to
stay with him for now. He's taking those boner pills now,
so you know, things are a little bit better in
that regard.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
But at times, a lot of times people over compensate.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
Oh my bad. Yeah, you're not gonna say Tim Jim.
But I do feel like people.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Over compensate sometimes because, like, you know, things maybe are
going great at the old Kassa.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
And him waited in his sexuality this year. But we
think we think that said look back on me again,
which is nice.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Holidays?

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Man, Like what I'm saying, Okay, all right, so you
so you.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
Think it's all a show, keep it real, yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
And that people aren't really that happy, and that they're
they're they're they want to send these pictures out and
make everything look like it's okay.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
I don't want to be like mean and say everyone's
like that, but I do think a lot of people
do that.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
It is kind of a funny tradition, like think about
like it, who decided I'm going to send a picture
of myself?

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Like I don't need that everyone I know myself. I
am shook. But you have a Christmas card? No, but
I thought of all people, you would have a Christmas card.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Because I was waiting for this moment. I'm like, okay,
finally I'm engaged. I look like a real adult, you know,
like I can take a picture with Timothy and the
dog and maybe send that out. I'm not sending out
anything because y'all don't appreciate it. And this is why
I'm not going to save the dates. I'm not doing
real invitations to the wedding. It will be virtual saves
a text, because yeah, I don't want to be yourself.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
What ten grand?

Speaker 3 (04:57):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (04:57):
How much of those? Thanks guys?

Speaker 4 (04:58):
So much?

Speaker 2 (04:59):
A lot?

Speaker 1 (05:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:00):
Wow? For you to toss it, I get a website invite.
I'm getting an invite to your wedding. Yes you are,
like what you say, I'm get your junk foulder. Well
it's true, I mean it is true. What am I
supposed to do? I can't keep every wedding invitation I've
ever received, That's true. I do.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
I keep it all, but I'm a hoarder.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
What are you doing with all that?

Speaker 1 (05:18):
What is the purpose? What are you gonna do?

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Like in ten years be like, oh, yeah they're divorced, now, like,
what are you going to do with it? I don't understand.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
And like handwritten cards, I hold onto those things.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
I don't just toss it. Well, it depends who wrote it?
Oh my goodness, but I know like I have, I
have some handwritten cards from certain people, like I have
a couple framed on my wall, like it depends who
wrote it. Okay, you know, but yeah, you've never written
me a love note, so I don't have one for
any of you. None of you have actually.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Get no stationary for me for you to throw it away.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Well, but maybe if you send me one, then you'll
be one of the framed ones. Maybe probably not, but
by me, it's good enough. I used to send cards
to like everybody who advertises with the show, and I
write a little note on them. But the thing is
now I don't even know where to send them because
I don't know who goes to work and who doesn't.
I guess maybe now it's like it was, But like
it used to be, I had office addresses for everybody
I send these old notes, and then they thought it

(06:05):
was nice, you know, But now I don't even I
don't do it because first of all, I don't know
who's going to get them, and then I never heard
from anybody like now that I expect a phone call,
but it was like no one was ever like I
got your Christmas card. That was cool, So I just
stopped doing.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
It, Thank you. What's the point? Wait, growing up, did
you guys do that?

Speaker 3 (06:20):
I can see your mom wanting to suend like Christmas
photos and.

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Oh yeah she still does. She still does it, but
now I thinks she does like Valentine's cards because she's cute.
She's decided that she's too busy during the holidays to
do all that, so she sends it later in the year,
which I could argue, Now, what have you decided that, like,
you don't you don't need to. You're our card, doesn't
need to come in with sixty others. You want your
own holiday now. So now now it's just just a

(06:45):
picture of us shows up on Valentine's Day and we
have no competition, so now we own the priority for you. Yeah, yeah,
you're right. I don't know anymore. With social media, I
don't know if it's necessary because I can go look
and see what you look like. I don't need the
photos of you.

Speaker 5 (07:00):
If it's like a nice like Christmas card, like that
looks like Christmas, the and beautiful, then yeah that's different.
But I don't need the whole photo and update like
you could just like Merry Christmas.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Yeah, people sign your name. Yeah, their photo updates and
it's cute.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
People agree with you. I throw the cards away for sure.
I see everything on social media. I've never heard someone
this isn't this isn't a complete sentence. But I guess
dislike Christmas cards, I think is what they meant to say.
You send them because you like to get them. If
you don't want them, then you don't send them. Okay,

(07:36):
but I am yeah you need New York No, yeah,
I don't know what that means because I I I'm
not waiting for you to send me one to like
I don't have them, and then you unlock my card
when you send me like I don't have them.

Speaker 1 (07:50):
Waiting you know I got one.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Now I'll send them one like I feel like you're
either on someone's Christmas list, so you're not. And this
time of year people A few people have texted me
recently asking for my address, and I know why that
is because they want to send me a Christmas card.
I almost believe with peel box one, two, three, four,
you know, uh, Bethlehem. I don't know because I don't.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
It's like I almost don't.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
I don't really want it so yeah, like, I guess
you're right now that I think about it, You're it's like,
oh that's nice.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
I look at it and then I.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Then you put it? Those in the trash. Some one said,
I'm not hanging them up. The thoughts size are not
hanging them up. I see where Pauline is coming from.
It's the same as Facebook or Instagram. Everyone just posts
the good and it's never all rainbows and unicorns. But
I will hang the cards at my fridge until the
end of the holiday. I will say my mom has
a big stack of them, like because she gets them.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
And when I when I.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Get home, I'll go through and I'll look and be like, oh,
there's so and so it's getting fat, and you know,
I'll look, I'm look and I'll be like, oh, yoh wow,
Like you know, because sometimes it's people that I knew,
or like, you know, my sister's friends that I may
have hooked up with at one point, I'm like, God,
she's looking good, or like she married him? Really no kidding,
I mean that's really what I do is it's really
were judgmental. I think people like probably think oh it's sweet.

(09:02):
Now I look and go like, oh, boy, really, that's
the choices were made here, like, that's that's who you married,
that's that's what you thought was a good idea.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
That's the spirit of the holidays right there.

Speaker 2 (09:14):
It's honest. I mean, I'm keeping it, I'm keeping it real.
We're being grinches apparently,
