And I know I say this all the time, and
it's not to make myself feel better. I don't feel
that old. I don't think i'm that old. But I
am beginning to experience things where I go places where
the people, like a doctor or a dentist or repair
man or whatever, they were always so much older than me.

They because well of course they were, because they know
every their doctor, they got to be way old, you know,
it would be a doctor. And now I go to
the doctor and the dude's like, he's younger than me
and he's been a doctor for a while. And I'm
over here going, uh, where's your dad? You know more
about this than I do it? Like how how swe
how long you been alive?

That's that is a major mind and you're a full
ass doctor already.

Like it really starts to mess with you. Audio journals

I know we're all, you know, pinchion pennies these days,
and eggs are seven dollars. But like the scammers are
getting really thirsty because now they're hitting me and I'm like, what,
what gave you the impression that I could get scammed?

I get.

A text from Rod and I'm putting you out there,
Rod Heller Helmer at hotmail dot com.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Okay, the first clue that it's a scam.

Speaker 3 (01:26):
A second yeah, and it says the toll Roads Notice
of toll evasion.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
You have an unpaid toll bill on your account.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
To avoid late fees, pay within twelve hours or latefield
late fees will be increased and reported to the DMV.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Now you know you got the wrong girl.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
Was like.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
With each other. They try to put that together, but like,
I don't care. You know that about the tolls.

Speaker 3 (01:51):
So I'm like, then it's like reply now and pay,
and they give you a link and then it says
the toll roads team whishes you a great day. Why
was like what they don't exactly, they don't they have
I am very familiar with this collection of tolls. Everybody
knows that. So I knew off the bat this was
They've never wished me a great day. Ever, I knew

that was a scam. And then you are emailing me
or texting me from a Hotmail account, like you didn't
even have the decency to make a Gmail account.

This is getting.

Ridiculous, and so or at least make a fake alias
that looks like a lot of the ones that you know.
Some of these scams are really clever, like you got
to look really carefully and be like that kind of
looks legit. But oh no, wait a minute, no, there's
no way that's right right, you know, but now you
I can see how this could be a problem for
you though, this toll way scam that we've been talking about,
because you don't pay, you don't pay your toll weave

fees at all, so you're getting these notes anyway, Most
people pay their fees and are still getting I got
one the other day. I pay my fees.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Well, I'm on a payment plan, thank you very much.
So I now have a payment plan set up and
they get what they need. However, please, I've never been
hit up in a text about a toll First of all, okay.

Thank you, Because they got my mom and I was like,
I'm like, I know you're a boomer, God bless you.
I'm I had to sit her down and go, okay,
here are the red flags the hot mail. They won't
text you because my sister drives here and she thought
she was paying Balla's tolls.

And I'm like, mom, you know, I had to teach
my boomer mom. It was sad she actually paid. Yes,
She's like I paid the other day and they're texting
me again. I'm like, pam MO. So I don't know.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
And I never thought you could get a text about tolls, right.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
No, I never I never have, right, and I've been
on there most one at least, right, So they haven't.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Yeah, they never text me.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
They waste a lot of paper though they send paid
they mail. They keep the USBs working for the TOT.

Speaker 1 (03:43):
You know that Fred is my nickname, so when I
get a text, it says, yo, what's up Fred? You know,
click on this link, Hollie. You know you pay these
fees or whatever. Kindly kindly click on this link, sir madam,
you know I'm going to go. Okay, now, hold on, nobody.
There's not one thing I'm registered under.

So you got it right there. But I feel bad
for people like my mom. My mom was looking to
rescue a cat, a specific kind of cat.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
She was looking all over the internet.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
For it, and I've come to find out and my
mom is a very smart, savvy woman. I come to
find out that she was sending people deposits, I know,
and that's a huge scam.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
I didn't realize this.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
But cat breeders and rescues for specific breeds of cats
that have value. She was looking for a main coon
and she was willing to do whatever, you know, a
reputable breeder or rescue one if one could be found.
But that's what she wanted specifically. And I find out
she sends a bunch of money and then like and
then she was like, I'm not paying that, and then

Venmo is mad at her, like Paulina because yeah, you know,
I'm not going to pay that, like it was a
scam or whatever.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
But how terrible are you?

Speaker 1 (04:48):
People trying to adopt animals and you're taking their money
because you know they want it. Yes, So it's like,
but who's sitting around going, I know, let's scam, you know, well,
inten people who really just want to have a new
pet and take their money and then high is terrible.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
I'm starting to think of somebody close to us, because
now that they've hit me, they got Kayla's mom. They've
reached out to your mom and they all they direct
these scams on what they think is relatable to the person,
so they know.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
You know what I'm saying, which money, y'all. Let me
see everybody's phones.
