Speaker 3 (00:30):
Just need to get some advice from you guys. When
do you throw away your seasonings?
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Like? When is it to exit? They're gone.
Speaker 3 (00:38):
I feel like when you purchase a seasoning, you're pretty
much locked in for life, you know. Like I feel
like expiration dates don't apply to seasoning for some reason,
but that's not true.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
They actually have expiration dates.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
And somebody told me when they were looking through my
little cupboards that I need to throw my season and
away and I was like, excuse me, but they say yes,
because you can get in your season if you don't
go by the expiration date.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
First of all, was it Ryan? I was gonna say,
was it a virgo? Somebody just like Ryan? Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:08):
Anyways, second thought, huh, well do you know that your
skincare also does?
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Do you throw that out?
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeh yeah? What?
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Well see, now there are two kinds of people on earth,
you guys, right and outside of like meat and cheese
and stuff that you and maybe we should be as
vigilant about the stuff we're putting on our skin or whatever,
but I'm not. I'm somebody who's not messing around with
like the chicken. If the chicken says no, then we're
out of it.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Seafood yeah, yeah, seafoods.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Meat. I don't. I'm probably a little bit conservative about leftovers,
you know. I don't really risk it, like maybe a day,
a couple of me. I'm sure I'm getting rid of
it before I should. But like, I'm just not, I'm
not going out like that. But but there are two
kinds of people, and the people who look at the
dates on stuff like seasonings and lotion, and then there
are people who don't. And I'm the one, Kiki, I'm
(01:56):
somebody who doesn't. And I used to have a person.
I think if you've been listening for a while, you know.
I have a person come clean my house once a month.
That's what I spurted for one time a month. And
this woman, I guess, she got a little bored with
cleaning the same one bathroom, so she she started going
through the cabinet and I would come home and she
would have thrown away eighty percent of what's in my bathroom.
(02:17):
I'd go to look for like the you know, lotion,
I don't use that office right salve, you know, and
I'm like, where's my salve? And then i'd you know, Tay, Gabby,
where's my salve? And she'd and she'd say, oh, well
it was expired.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
Like well, I so right, right, mind your business, Gabby.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
It seemed fine to me, you know. But I guess
with spices, they don't spoil, but they a lot of
them can like lose their the oils and stuff, so
like they're less potent.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
I guess I.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Just thought it was a lifetime thing, even when they
get like I don't know, if you've had it where
it gets like rock hard, like the zeuth and you
have to like bang it on the counter first, Like
I just thought that was protocol.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
But apparently you're supposed to throw them away.
Speaker 3 (02:58):
So I just want to tell you everybody out there,
check your seasoning expiration dates if you need one more
thing to stress about.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Whole spice is four years, ground spices, dried herbs one
to three years. Spice blends two years. How to tell
if it's past its prime? Smell, color, and taste, signs
of spoilage, mold or moisture. Well, yeah, if there's like
green stuff growing on your cayenne pepper, then don't use it, right,
stranger sour smell, bitter or metallic taste, bugs or webbing.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Ooh eh, webbing Right. I don't like the sounds of
that little spider in there, So I'm like, I'm not
I'm not here. I'm not about that life.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
No, I'm like sunscreen. I mean, I probably want it
to work, obviously, but I don't know how often do
you use sunscreen? Some people every day, But I mean,
like the kind of you use at the beach by
the pool. You know, you're only using that when you're
at the beach or by the pool. Maybe you live
near that, but you know, not everybody does, so that
that stuff gets busted out. A couple of times a year.
It takes me a while to use it, right, I
guess I should be thrown I also think it might
(03:55):
be a conspiracy, you guys. I think the sunscreen industry
might be in the lotion industry might be a conspiracy
because they want you to throw this stuff away. Uh
huh you see what I have uncovered?
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Come on now, Yeah, it's always a scheme.
