radio blogs on the Fread Show. It's like for writing
in our diaries, except we say them a lot. Our
special guest show Bis Shelley By all means do you
want to a blog? Sure?

Speaker 2 (00:36):
I can do a blog.

Speaker 1 (00:37):
I saw you had many ideas today, But take it away.
Whichever one you.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Want interested you?

Speaker 1 (00:41):
I don't.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
I feel like there's.

Speaker 1 (00:43):
Which I keep telling you to take it away. I
need to say take it away. This that's my crush
of the hours. Take it away. That's okay, gonna stop
make a note, stop saying it. Just pick whichever one
you want, okay.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
So, dear blog, I feel like the older you get.
We all know this. It's it's difficult to make friends, right,
they say that, like the old you get it's tough
to make friends. And so I have like a couple
like you guys know, my neighbors are my close friends.
And then I have maybe like a couple of friends

(01:14):
too who are like military spouses as well, that I
met through my husband's coworkers. While I was at the
park this past weekend with my kids and my daughter,
She's like running around and she actually like this woman
who was with her kids was at the park and
my daughter ran into her and she was so nice
to my daughter and she was like complimenting her outfit

(01:35):
and so cute. So I walked over there and I
got to talking to this mom and she was so cool.
She was like so nice. We had a lot in common,
and I was like, this is do I like want
to be friends with her? And how do I say, like,
I want to be friends with you? And so we're
talking and she's like, Okay, well I gotta get going.
We have to go to lunch. And so I said,

(01:56):
this is so weird, but can I get your number?
That's for her digits?

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Wow, you're flame that game it's you And then I
scaring it asked for someone's number in the wild, I'm
afraid to do that too.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Confirm house, like, girl, what do you think of that
bird over there? And she's like, oh, I love it.

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Okay, You're like, yeah, you're for me?

Speaker 2 (02:19):
So she said, oh yeah, sure here, let me get
here's you.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Now.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Realistically, I'm like thinking back, I'm like, am I gonna tell?

Speaker 1 (02:25):
Like what?

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Am I going to actually text her? Like, hey, do
you want to go to the park again?

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Like? What? Then?

Speaker 2 (02:30):
Is like maybe I should have asked for her social media?
Do people do this? Like what do you do in
that situation?

Speaker 1 (02:35):
No? I think I think you have kids. I mean
I think adults could ask other adults to be friends.
I think that, you know, I think it maybe would
gets weird if you if it's not truly understood what
the intentions are between different genders or people who have
this similar interest, right, Like, but I think in your case,
you're a mom, she's a mom. There are kids you
met in this setting. It is hard to meet people

(02:56):
as an adult to make new friends. I'm sure she
appreciated that. I'm sure I'm sure she'd love opportunity to
do that again, Like where you go do something with
the kids, and the kids play with each other, and
then you guys get adult time at the same time. True,
so she's probably really happy about it. Which was there
any hesitation to give you her number?

Speaker 2 (03:11):
There was like a slightly oh yeah, for sure, like
a little like oh like. But then I thought maybe
because in this day and age, you know, you just
never know about it. I feel like maybe social media
would have been the thing to do. But then I
feel we're giving my social media, you know what I mean,
Because then.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
I almost think that's more invasive to a complete stranger. Yeah, granted,
you do it on the dating apps all the time,
but like that's only to verify that you're not a
bot or AI that I'm not chatting with Chad GPT.
But I think a phone number is less invasive because
now it's like, can I see your husband and family
and you know where you live? And you know what
I mean. I think a phone number is kind of
like the way to do that.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
Really, I do the Instagram thing, Yeah, yeah, that was sure.
This is such a random story, but I became friends
with Bad Bunny's ex girlfriend's cousin in Puerto Rico.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
I see, you're bad Bunny.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
I because she was traveling alone and was sitting next
to the hobby and I, you know, we're getting drinks,
we're having a good time. Let's go to Puerto Rico
a couple like what was it a month ago? And
she and her baby were traveling. So I've been through
that right, traveling alone with the baby. So I was
helping her, holding the baby, let her go to the bathroom.
I was doing all the things feeding the baby. I
was like mom mode. And then when she got off
the plane, she use my phone to call her sister
or something like that because she didn't have or her

(04:19):
phone wasn't like working or something with some story.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
But then I was like, what's your Instagram?

Speaker 3 (04:23):
Let's keep in touch and like now we're friends, and
do you.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Like message on Instagram?

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Yeah? Well, like keeping touch and stuff.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
So I want to go back to Puerto Rico.

Speaker 3 (04:29):
It's like one of my goals, like just to go
and like vacation again because it was amazing and she's
like cool people. And I felt like safer because I'm like, Okay,
we have a connection now. Somehow I get to see
her life and you see mine.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
No, I think you sees this Shelley because it's hard
as an adult to meet new people, especially people who
were kind of in the same phase of life that
you are.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
Yeah, it is hard, And so afterwards, I like questioned myself.
I was like, maybe I should have done a social
thing for the reasons Paulina is saying, because but then
I feel like our socials is a little because we
didn't talk about what we did for a living. So
then if I already give my social like hey, I'm at.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Yeah, then she's gonna start She'll start texting you for
Jonah's brothers tickets or whatever.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
It's like, yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
I think it's weird that you text her this morning
at two in the morning asking if you up, Like,
I think that's what I think. That makes it. That
makes things a little strange now, but okay, you'll have
to deal with that, or hey, are you my twin flame? Like,
I think that's weird, but you do. You do what
you gotta do. Waiting by the phone. He's new and
more fread show next
