Speaker 1 (00:02):
Ever been left waiting by the phone. It's the Fred Show.
Hey Chris, good morning, Welcome to the program. How are
you good?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
I'm very good. What's going on with this woman? Laney?

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Tell us how you met? About any dates you've been on,
and then why you think you're being ghosted? Because that's
what we're here to do, is try and get to
the bottom of what's going on with this woman who you.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
I guess you liked her, Yeah I did.

Speaker 3 (00:24):
I mean, yeah, we went on a couple of dates.
We met on bumble, you know, just went out for
drinks a couple of times, and you know, I'm definitely
pretty interested to see her again. But yeah, I can't
get a hold of her any longer. I'm trying not
to blow up her phone. But I sent her a
few texts and called her a couple of times.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
So yeah, all right, So the drinks went well.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
I assume, I mean, you're you're obviously into her enough
that you're distraught that you can't get a hold of her,
that she's not calling you back, that you're not planning
another date. But I mean, you know, you thought everything
went well. The conversation was good. I mean, I always
asked you if he's qualifying questions. But you thought the
conversation was good, nothing weird. You know, you are who
you say you are, you know, all that kind of
good stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
Yeah, I mean, you know, I thought we had a
really great time. I mean, you know, I mean the
first day was good enough for a second date.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
So huh, okay, Well, let's see if we can help
you out. We're going to play a song, come back.
Call Lane, you'll be on the phone. We're gonna ask
questions on your behalf. At some point you're welcome to
jump in. And the hope, as always is that she's
been busy or distracted or something's going on that's explainable
and she wants to go out again. And if that's
the case, we'll set you guys up and pay for it.
All right, sounds great, Let's see what's going on? Part

(01:35):
two of Waiting by the phone after Billy Eilish back
in two minutes on the Frend Show, Bill the eyelights,
The French Show's on the radio, and the iHeart app
Live and anytime starts to put a Frend show on
demand and make us a pre set. Hey Chris, Hey,
let's call Laney. You met on Bumble, the dating app,
and you went on a date. You went for drinks.
You felt like the date went really well. There was chemistry,
good conversation, she was attractive, and yet you haven't heard

(01:58):
from her since the date. You've reached a couple of times,
no response. You feel like you're being ghosted. You want
to know why.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
Get That's pretty much it.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
You nailed it, all right, Let's call her now? Good luck?

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Hi is this Laney? This is hey lady, good morning.
My name is Fred. I'm calling from the Fred Show,
the Morning radio show. The whole crew is here. I
do have to tell you that we are on the
radio right now. I would need your permission to continue
with the call. Can which that for just a second?

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Okay, yeah, okay, she's up.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
For an adventure. I like it.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
We're calling on behalf of a dude who says he
met you on Bumble. His name is Chris. Do you
remember Chris going on a date with him recently?

Speaker 4 (02:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Yeah, Okay, Well what happened with this guy? Because you know,
we just talked to him about you and he said that,
you know, he thought the date went really well, but
everything was good, that the drinks went well, conversation, he
was attracted to you, interested in you, and that he's
reached out a couple of times and you're not responding.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
So what happened?

Speaker 4 (03:02):
Okay, on my end, the conversation did not go well.
He was really annoying.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Okay, what was annoying about him?

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Because again this is this is all a surprise to
him and to us, because all we know is what
he told us. He thought everything went great, was looking
forward to seeing you again.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
So what happened?

Speaker 5 (03:18):
Like, he's not I don't know if he doesn't realize
he's doing it, but he just talked completely in movie
quotes the entire time.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
No, he's one of those, well for Jason's because he
doesn't know any of it because you don't watch a
lot of movies, so you don't.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Know how awful that would be for me.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
The whole time, he'd be like, why are you saying
weird stuff out of contact? I don't get it, but
you don't get it. Give me an example, Lany, Like what, so,
I mean, how aggressive was this?

Speaker 5 (03:47):
Well, it's like I didn't realize how much because like
I guess he was doing.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
It over text too, but he didn't explain it.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
And I didn't get it, so I was just like,
oh whatever, and I just sort of like lapped it
off or whatever. But then on the date he kept
on doing it, and it was like at everything, like
I don't know a lot of them, but like we
got you know, like when when dessert came he did
that like box of chocolates quote whatever that is? Oh

(04:16):
life is like about Okay, Yeah, I mean you can.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Sprinkle those in every now and again. But if like
everything you're saying is you know, some sort of wacky
uh Napoleon dynamite quote or whatever, then I think that
would get that would get old. And the thing the
thing that drives me nuts. And I do it occasionally,
I will admit, but it's like when you say something,
you're like, you know what that's from, you know what
that's from, you know what that's like? Why do you

(04:43):
make me feel completely uncultured? Okay, I can't possibly consume everything,
nor can I even if I did consume it. I'm
not sure if I can remember all the quotes. But
let me bring Chris in. Chris you are you're the
movie quote?

Speaker 4 (04:54):
Guy?

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Hey you're Adrian just kidding a rocky Oh no, I
don't know, you're not gonna work here anymore.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
You really need to see the classics.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
I mean, okay, but why does everything have to be
a quote that she doesn't know? Like why can't we
just talk like normal people, like come up with our
own sentences?

Speaker 2 (05:15):
Right? I mean not not.

Speaker 3 (05:17):
I mean I think she's exaggerating on everything as a
movie quote.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
But I mean, you know.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Time, Okay, so he's a movie guy, Laney, and and
he likes movies, and we know we all know this person,
we know the people who are you know, friends, fanatics
or Seinfeld or Curb, and then everything's aligned from there,
and then you're the moron for not knowing you know
what it is.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
Yeah, and that's kind of how we talked too, likes
like oh, you haven't seen the Second Godfather or whatever?

Speaker 5 (05:45):
Like constantly it was shocked that I hadn't seen whatever
it was he was quoting, Chris?

Speaker 1 (05:52):
Really, is it this obnoxious? I mean, I mean, is
it's so how how many references would you say you
use it an average conversation? Do you just be It
doesn't sound like you're just sprinkling them in. It sounds
like everything you're saying has some kind of a movie tie.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
Were you talking to me?

Speaker 5 (06:09):
Now?

Speaker 4 (06:09):
I just kidded.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
You got me, But no, I don't. I really don't
think I got.

Speaker 4 (06:14):
It that much.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
So I would have a kick out of this, like
I do the same thing with my best friend. You
would have a kick out of this. We would have
a kick, get a kick, be a kick. You would
get a kick out of it.

Speaker 5 (06:24):
You are always quoting and saying things, yes, and the
same movies.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
I never know what your friend is telling you at
any point in time. He does. He drives it with
me every time I see him and I have I'm like.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Okay, so he's the movie cool guy. Ladies, you don't
get it. You don't like it. It's annoying. What if
he toned it down a little bit? Would you consider
going out with him again? We'll pay for it.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (06:53):
I mean, like when he started with it again just now,
like it just kind of proves my point.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Yeah, yeah, And the way he does it, you know,
Chris is like, yeah, you say, you're like that that's
from Rocky. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
I don't know. We can sprinkle them in.

Speaker 1 (07:10):
We know it doesn't have to be you know everything
we say, right.

Speaker 5 (07:16):
I mean, yeah, but I'm just not Okay, she doesn't
like movies like he does, and he will shock.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
But here's the good news, man, There's gonna be a
lot of people out there, Chris, who do like movies
as much. I mean, there are a lot of people
out there who like movies and consume it the same
way you do. So surely you'll find somebody who knows
all of these references and then spit them right back
at you.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
How hot will that be? Yeah, you know that would
be great. I do want someone who appreciates me for me.
Oh right, there you go.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Is that from a movie?

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (07:43):
From heart?

Speaker 2 (07:44):
What's that from Nodding Hill or something like that? That was?
That was straight from the heart?

Speaker 3 (07:48):
You know, I'm not just one dimensional?

Speaker 1 (07:50):
All right, Well, I'm going to see about a girl now,
so I gotta get going.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Okay, you know what that's from? Probably notting Hill because
you're obsessed good will hunting.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
But anyway, I guess you're not. I guess you're not
cultured like Chris and I. So it's fucking and Paulina
and Paulina too. So all right, hey lady, I'm gonna
take it as you don't you don't want to go
out again.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
We'll pay for it. We'll send you to a movie.

Speaker 4 (08:11):
Right, No, I'm good, all.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Right, Chris, hey man, you be you. You'll find someone
who's into it. I don't.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
It's not Lady but a right, it's Paulina. She's married,
so it'll be somebody else. But good luck out there.
