(00:20):
Text together to five seven, seven three nine right now
for a chance to win. A confirmation text will be
sent standard message and data rates may apply. It's all
thanks to the Live Nation in Paulina. Yeah, I think
you doned in it with this one again on the
sheet this morning. The first thing I see is that
you're annoyed when you go to I want to know
how this came up, But you're annoyed when you go
(00:41):
to a restaurant and what happened?
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Yeah, I don't like it when I go to restaurants
to go you with somebody and they feel like they
need to ask and bother our waiter or waitress and
ask them what's good here?
Speaker 3 (00:53):
Or like what do you like?
Speaker 1 (00:55):
What is wrong with you?
Speaker 4 (00:59):
You?
Speaker 1 (01:00):
I love you deeply, but like what what is wrong
with you? Like? Why what is the problem with asking
people who work at the place what they're known for
or what the best thing you?
Speaker 3 (01:09):
No like knocking off, just like what do you want
to eat?
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Because I can recommend like beef to you, Kaylen, and
you're gonna look at me and be like, okay, but
I don't eat beef.
Speaker 5 (01:16):
But I tell the server like, here's what I'm into,
Like what are your highlights on the menu?
Speaker 3 (01:20):
What do you work there? That's true?
Speaker 4 (01:21):
What do you like?
Speaker 2 (01:22):
A taste for something very specific? And I'm over here
telling you like about eating as.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
If I have a taste for something very specific, I'm
gonna order that thing. But if I don't know what
I want, then I might ask the person and I
know this before I asked the person, and then they
tell me stuff and none of that really sounds good
to me, so I don't order any of it, and
I usually joke about it like all right, well thanks
for that, but I'm ordering this instead, ha ha whatever.
But like, what what is what is the problem these
people see all day long, they've eaten most of the
(01:47):
food there, Yes they have, you have to assume and
if they're lying to you, then they're liars. But whatever,
that's that. They can deal with that, you know, the
next time the rapture comes around, they can deal with that.
But what is I do all the time? Yeah, I
go to a place it never gone and I'll be like,
what what? What do you like on the menu? Would
(02:07):
what's good? I?
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Am you so annoyed if I was your waitress and
you asked me that, because I'd.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
Be like yes, because are you also annoyed if you're
the waitress and I ask you for water? And like
that annoying to you as well?
Speaker 2 (02:18):
That is universal. We all need to live, like we
needed to drink your water. I'm more concerned.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
About if you don't like scallops, I'm not going to
give you a presentation about it and like waste your time?
Speaker 2 (02:28):
And like you said, what if I turn around and
go actually, I'm gonna try the other thing that I
thought of first?
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Your reputation.
Speaker 5 (02:33):
They're not still a paying customer and everything's okay.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
I don't like it.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
I do it all the time.
Speaker 3 (02:39):
Even worse.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
Sometimes I'll give them two options and ask them to
choose for me. Now, how triggered would you.
Speaker 3 (02:43):
Be for that? I like that because I'm not putting
a lot of work into that.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
You're like, hey, what's a better the beef barley or
the whatever rite the other soup tomato basil.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Then I'll say I like tomato basil.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
But see, my taste buds are very different other people's, right, we'd.
Speaker 5 (02:56):
When I'm going into the question, So I take that
into considerracy than you.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
I shouldn't ask that question, but other people who have
a less particular taste could very easily ask that question.
And then you might say that the best thing on
the menu is something that I wasn't even looking at
or wouldn't normally order. But if it's like, no, no, this
is what we're known for, you know, then I might
try it because you suggest it. I also might not
(03:20):
because he's not a contract, because I didn't agree to
a contract with the waitress. We didn't sign anything. Okay, yes,
some with her.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Lik a bit, Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 6 (03:29):
Now I am the person I will do this probably
in the sole. Let me just be honest there. I
do this all the time. But you know I hate
a skit at Dinna, Like, let's get this over it.
You know, I looked at the menu before we got here.
You looked at the menu before we got here. No,
I didn't we know what we want? So no, I
didn't just done. I didn't look at the menuefore.
Speaker 1 (03:48):
Guessing on what you want. Yes, I am. I went
to the restaurant. I looked at the ANU for the
first time, and I'm going to I'm going to assess
my mood at the time, because what I want right
now might be different than what I want at six
pm or seven pm when I go to dinner.
Speaker 6 (04:00):
Telling you that you don't do that about myself the
waitress or a waiter. You're like, bro, I don't want
to do this, Like I don't want to play this
game with you.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
Tell me there, but this is there a different. I
know you don't like the presentation, yes, like the meat presentation.
You don't like that, Like when we go to a
steakhouse or something with the suits and then they come
out and they show you like, you know, the whole cow,
the cat. I know you don't like that. No, I don't.
Speaker 3 (04:29):
We don't need that.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Fine, But that's different. I think that's very different than
me going like, well, I don't know, I mean, what's.
Speaker 6 (04:35):
No, But I feel Paulina on the waitress side, like
if I'm the waiter bro, I have seven other tables
I gotta work on. I don't have time to play
this game with you. What do you want off this menu?
You want to ask me all these questions?
Speaker 1 (04:48):
What do I think?
Speaker 3 (04:48):
You don't care what I there for?
Speaker 5 (04:51):
They work in the service industry, like they work there,
they're ambassadors of the place game.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
But if I bed this whole like lamb, you know
whatever hor chops to you and you get something completely different,
I'm going to be so bothered.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
You are bothered. I ask you what's the best thing is?
And if it's not, if it's not what I want,
then I'm not going to order an end of story,
we move on. But maybe you'll inspire me to order something.
Speaker 6 (05:17):
No what, Okay, stop the Shenanigans. Pick something off this paper.
I just gave you a paper with seven options.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
Pick one.
Speaker 5 (05:28):
Some of us go out to dinner to like relax
and enjoy, have a glass of wine, like enjoy your company.
You want to get something you like? You want to
chat like why are why are we going out to
dinner with such anger?
Speaker 7 (05:41):
People make?
Speaker 1 (05:42):
And then like sometimes if I'm choosing between two things,
I'll be like what about these? And then sometimes if
the person like is really nice and honest that the
server will be like, yeah, I definitely would go with
the other thing because they've had it and they don't
like the thing, right book, I mean, if you're an
honest server, not everything on the mat, on every menu
is going to be like you know, Michelin Star, Not
everything is the best thing. You know, there are things
(06:04):
that are better. Hey, a lot of people like this, right, Okay, good, Well,
then I might order that because if you sell a
lot of them, then they must be pretty good. I mean,
but how would I would I know that I don't
get their p and L. They don't little POS system
doesn't print out for me and send to my email
before I arrive, you know, the most popular things at
the restaurant. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
I've been betrayed by waiters and waitresses because they gave
me what their recommendation is and I didn't like it.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
So like, that's why I don't, like, why are we
doing this for trusting them? Because you already know what.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
You're wanting a room pull, So I don't want to.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
Give my trust to Mike client do that, but other people. Okay,
what I'm waitressing on the weekend, I won't do it. No,
I don't.
Speaker 5 (06:42):
I just feel like you don't ask someone who knows
what you want. You don't ask the waiter. But like
other people might not know wild.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
For this, Like why would I not ask the person
who's there all the time if I'm not sure about.
Speaker 3 (06:55):
Something, the waitress. I ask the questions.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
All they do all day is this food? Right? And
then and then you also have to again you have
to assume they've tried a lot of this stuff. And
some people will be like, I haven't never heard that.
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (07:07):
On the flip side, I love when the winnwater will
be like, don't get that.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
That's not good.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
That's what the that's what I'm just that's what I
just said. Yeah, exactly the same thing. It's like, well
these two thinks, oh no, not that.
Speaker 5 (07:16):
Yeah, or when they're a point, don't pick the most
expensive thing like they're honesty sparkling.
Speaker 6 (07:21):
I don't have to I ask the questions. I'm the waitress. Yeah,
it's not a fun restaurant. Yes, what's wrong.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
With these people? Like? What is wrong with you? I
guess I'm supposed to go to the restaurant. I'm supposed
to go to the restaurant, and I'm not supposed to
ask any questions. I'm supposed to have the menu memorized, yes,
and then I'm supposed to just know. And if I
don't get it right, if I don't wander everything properly
the first time. Right, Oh boy, Pauline is gonna be mad.
You're gonna get up and leave after she eats the food.
(07:48):
I'm about to buy.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
HER's portrayed before I have.
Speaker 1 (07:51):
You know, it's no problem for you because you show
forty five minutes late, so you never saw me do that,
so it doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (07:56):
That's true.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
But jed, what did you want to say? Please?
Speaker 7 (08:00):
So I'm with Kiki. I definitely review every menu before
I go to any restaurants to make sure I like
what's on the menu, because I prefer to want to.
Speaker 3 (08:07):
Eat good food.
Speaker 7 (08:09):
My husband is horrible. I said, please do not ask
the waitress what their favorite item is, and he goes,
I'm not going to what does he do?
Speaker 1 (08:17):
What's your favorite?
Speaker 7 (08:18):
Two options? And then they get their options and they
say their favorite and he picks the opposite. I'm so embarrassing.
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Yeah, I mean, I definitely have done it where I'm like,
what is what is the best thing here? What do
you like? And then they say two things, and it's like,
you know, the Pheasant, and I don't know why I'm
meeting with Pheasant, but you know, I don't know the
famous send burger or something, and I'm like, I don't.
I don't. Okay, thank you for that. I don't want
either one of those things, so I ordered something else.
Speaker 7 (08:39):
That's why you review the menu before you go.
Speaker 5 (08:42):
I guess it doesn't tell you like the best thing
or the most ordered or customer reviews.
Speaker 6 (08:48):
Oh yeah, it tells you the I look at the pictures. Yeah,
you gotta go down to I mean from the waiter.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
I don't try those Google reviews.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
I don't have forty five minutes to research the restaurant,
especially if it's already been just it's not like I'm
going to call my friends and go, oh, that place
that we mutually decided upon. I don't want to go now.
Speaker 6 (09:06):
No, you just do your research before you get there
exactly exactly, you know what.
Speaker 1 (09:12):
I like to just experience things in real time. But
thank you, Jen, have a good day. Okay, So how
about this, So I've got this guy right now? Oh,
Paulina you'd hate this guy. I need to look up
his name. I was talking to my friend Gideon about
this yesterday. I love this guy. He's in Houston. He's
a Texan, older guy, and his his content is that
(09:34):
he goes to restaurants for cuisine he's never had before ever,
and he walks in and basically just says like, Hey,
I've never eaten Palestinian food before. I've never eaten Jamaican
food before, I've never eaten Filipino food before. What should
I have? Do you have a beer that's you know,
from this place? Whatever? And then he eats it and
people love it. People love this man because he's asking
(09:57):
questions about their culture and he doesn't know anything about
the food is what to order? They give him choices,
he makes a choice. That's the same thing. Don't say nine.
Speaker 2 (10:06):
Going to Chili's or Applebee's like and asking the waitresses crazy, Like,
that's different.
Speaker 3 (10:10):
That's the whole experience. You're also doing video content, you
know what I mean. You're you're putting these these small
businesses on like.
Speaker 1 (10:17):
Holding a selfie camera stick up to myself on a chain.
Speaker 3 (10:20):
It can't be a change, can't be a chain.
Speaker 1 (10:22):
But like what if it buffaloed the new Buffero on
that new anymore with the buffalo Monzarelli sticks, right, Like,
what if they're disappointing? You know, I don't know, And
honest server would tell you, yeah, they're kind of made,
but these are really good. To get these boom TikTok.
Speaker 3 (10:36):
Would have told you that a day ago.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
But you've already spent four hours on TikTok on the
way there. Exactly. I have a life. Okay, I don't
have a life, so I probably have plenty of time
for this. But hey, Nancy, this is one of the
wildest takes I've ever heard. We are not supposed to
ask people who work at the restaurant what is good
at the restaurant. According to Paulina, well.
Speaker 7 (11:02):
What I usually do, especially if I'm on vacation, I
will be like.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
Hey, if I never come back here again, what do
I have to try before?
Speaker 1 (11:11):
I love that? See, I don't see a problem with this.
And then if they tell you something you don't feel
like trying. You know all the you know the frog
legs are great, Well I don't. I don't really want them,
and so then you order something else. No big deal,
No big deal. Exactly exactly.
Speaker 3 (11:28):
I agree, Okay, we can got Nancy.
Speaker 1 (11:30):
Thank you. Yeah, yeah, you're welcome.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
To have a wonderful day.
Speaker 1 (11:33):
You too, Nancy. I love you, appreciate you.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Now.
Speaker 6 (11:36):
I want to see you with Nancy. I told you
I do this, but I do feel Paulina, it's dumb.
I'm really wasting these people time. Bit on both sides,
I don't understand.
Speaker 1 (11:45):
Okay, but even if I look at the menu ahead
of time and I know what I want walking in,
what if it's not good and what if the server
is like mmm, I'll tell you. What I don't like.
What I don't like is when a server tells everyone
that they made the best order, like oh, excellent order,
you know, or like excellent choice. It's like, wait, would
you tell me a bit we're a bad choice, Like
(12:07):
you're saying that ahead of time. I didn't ask you,
which means you wouldn't tell me if I made a
bad choice. And I don't like that, like I would
rather I would rather a server be like, yeah, I
don't know, but this is actually better than that, you know,
if it's like in the same category, like oh you
ordered this, that's great, this one. Actually I think this
one's a little bit better, and then I would be
like great, and then I have a choice. Then I'm educated.
(12:31):
I have knowledge that I cannot have. And the other
thing is one more time about reviews. God, you got
me going already. Reviews or bs, reviews, or bs. Almost
nobody takes the time to go say I had the
best club sandwich today at this place. It was the
best I've ever had. No, Instead, it was there was
a hair in my club sandwich today, you know, And
(12:53):
was it was it your hair? Was it someone else's hair?
We don't really know, Okay, but no one takes the
time to go. I would say it's nice eighty percent
people complaining about something and ten percent people saying how
good things were. So you can't really go to the
reviews to find out what's good. Yes, you can't. And
don't you know that I go to TikTok. Don't you
know that pretty well? What about reviews?
Speaker 6 (13:15):
Oh yeah, I make good reviews. I make TikTok videos.
If I really love you, okay, and if I hate you,
Veronica or whatever's going to make a review.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
That's what I'm saying. I see a lot of reviews
from Veronica, not nearly as many from whatever her name,
the negative reviews, whatever her name is, you can't even
keep us trade. Hey, Bridget, hi, Bridget, this is a
crazy thing, Paulina and Kiki. Now, apparently who does it?
You're not allowed to ask the server at the restaurant
(13:43):
what's good there?
Speaker 3 (13:47):
Yeah, I don't believe in that.
Speaker 4 (13:49):
I actually think that going to restaurants, you're supposed to
go with your friends and sit and enjoy, take your time,
you know, enjoying each other's company, peruse the menu. Yeah,
I don't even like all right, listen, I want to
know exactly what I want to eat.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
I want to get in, I want to get out.
I want to home. Like, what is the point of enjoying.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
If you want to be in and out?
Speaker 1 (14:13):
This is what I'm talking about. So apparently, Bridget, we're
supposed to go. We're supposed to go on the reviews.
We're supposed to read the menu. I'm supposed to try
and dig up any TikTok about the place he's ever
been made. I got to take three or four hours
before I go to the restaurant to make sure I'm
fully briefed, and then when I walk in, I better
have the order memorize, and I better spit it out,
and I better not say anything. I better not ask
anybody any questions. But lord knows, if I don't like it,
(14:36):
I can then go home and tear them a new
one without ever having spoken a word or asked a question.
That's what I've learned this morning, bridget I want you
to have a great day.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
No way.
Speaker 1 (14:45):
Yeah, that's crazy, right, this is my life.
Speaker 4 (14:49):
Like, honestly, that's what happens when social media and Google
takes over the world. There's no such thing as just
wandering into a restaurant and enjoying the experience, or maybe
not enjoying the experience and having a story. I mean,
that's to be sad about old school dining and old
school activities where you don't have to like be an
(15:10):
investigator over every little thing that you.
Speaker 1 (15:14):
You better have your order memorized. You better have it memory,
and you better not change your mind. And if something
else looks good, don't you dare ask if it is not,
you bridge it. No, do ask servers.
Speaker 4 (15:27):
I do ask servers what's good on the menu?
Speaker 6 (15:29):
Bought?
Speaker 4 (15:29):
In my defense, I'm gonna tell you I was in
the service industry for a very long time as a
server and a bartender, and I actually enjoyed it when
people ask me what I enjoyed to.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Eat, that's interesting.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
How about that? Thank you? Bridge?
Speaker 3 (15:43):
Very nice?
Speaker 1 (15:45):
She's okay one at a time.
Speaker 3 (15:48):
No, she's good. She's a good one.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
I don't think you could take your time like you
can sit down, relax, have wine and all that.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
Feel like it, But just like, don't be bugging your
service guys. Let them just you know, let them enjoy
the nice. Give me to bug gun on.
Speaker 1 (15:58):
The people who are there to help me. Don't ask
them to help
