Speaker 1 (00:00):
Man, look at this right on time. Another tangent. We're
back on track. We're doing our jobs. Everyone hit the intro.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
It's the tangent with the bread show, giving me all
the shit we couldn't talk about on air.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
All right.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
Well, I don't know how good the tangent is going
to be, but I at least we're doing it right.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
So there's that. So I'm here.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
I'm so proud of us for doing what we're supposed
to do. Good morning, everybody, or whatever time of day
it is when you're listening to this. A little accessory.
It's a little offshoot of our show that we like
to do if you're just joining us for the first time.
And so, Kiki, we didn't get to this today, but
it's happening tonight, so we may as well talk about it.
So you were signed up for something that you don't
want to do.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
Right basically, And I'm actually scared to even say this
out loud that I don't want to do it because
my sister signed me up for it. But my nephew
is going to his eighth grade dance. My sister works
at the school. You guys know, she's a school nurse,
so she's like all involved in this. I really think
she put on this dance because it's his eighth grade year,
Like I don't think these has ever had a dance.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
On the other side, eighth grade dance, yes, And so.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
She's turned it into this whole thing. The family has
to come over to see him off to the dance.
So I'm like, okay, cool, I'll be there whatever. Then
she's like, actually, you know, it would probably be cool
if like you went to the dance, like you can
escort him in the dance. And I'm like, why would
I ever do that? Like, he doesn't think I'm cool,
He's not gonna want me there. And then she's so
she like threw that hint out and she you know,

(01:26):
weeks go by and she's just like, you're gonna be
there at four right. I'm like yes, and she's like okay,
and then we're gonna go to the school and see him,
you know, walk in. I'm like, okay, yes, and she's like,
you know what, I just told the principle that I
think it'd be cool if like you've just introduced the kids,
like you open up the dance for them, And I'm
like hell yes, And then my nephew just revealed to

(01:48):
me yesterday that she told him. He was like, yeah,
so when you host our dance tomorrow, I'm like, excuse me,
So clearly this lady has told them that I'm hosting
the dance.

Speaker 3 (02:00):
It's you DJ in too. You better bring the ox
chord with you.

Speaker 4 (02:04):
And I'm so nervous because any school dance I went to,
the DJ is always horrible, Like the kids hate the
music there. They don't want to hear the virgins that
they're playing other songs, so like, and here I am
trying to host what a horrible DJ? Like, I'm I
have so much anxiety about tonight. And I hosted a
lot of things in my life, but this by far
has given me the most anxiety. And I really want

(02:26):
to back out, Like I really want to run.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
But you never even signed up for this. You you
were signed up for this by someone else.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
My sister, yes, because what she says goes, And I
don't think I have another option.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
But you have to go, though, I mean, you have
to go because it's your nephew.

Speaker 5 (02:43):
But what do I do if the DJ sucks?

Speaker 6 (02:45):
That DJ is gonna be so yeah, you're taking his
shine already I don't want to.

Speaker 3 (02:51):
That guy was ready to be like, yo, kids, you
ready that Kik gotta do it.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
This was his glory man. He was going to get
to host an eighth grade dance. And now you're coming
in just taking it from him on Monday night.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
On a Monday night, I'm so nervous.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
It's nicer enough. He wants you to do this. That's
what I feel like the silver lining of all this
is because I would have.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
Been like, hell no, I know, and I thought that
was how he would feel. And I'm like, I don't
know if she's like forced him into this now, like
does he really even want this? I don't know, but
I just I was shook at the thought of it.
And I know Rufio hosts a lot of school dances,
like this is your thing. So actually, if you wanted
to pull up, I would, Yeah, chall I'll come through.

Speaker 7 (03:34):
Yeah you're gonna have to pay him, right exactly what
a convenience on top for show for show, but like
show honestly, like I said, like the events I do,
it's it's DJs I've worked with before.

Speaker 6 (03:47):
You know, I'm so I know the vibe. I know
what they're gonna do. What they're gonna play, so it's easy,
but you're gonna be working with some dude you never
dude or woman that you never worked before, so very
sex should be interesting.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Well, you have to do it. It's your neph. You
have to do it.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
And I agree, it's cool that he wants you to
do it and it's fine, or if you want out
of it, then you should say, you know, my standard
fee is and you tell your sister that my standard
fee is ex and so, and then all of a
sudden it will be like oh whoa, whoa, whoa, never mind,
you don't have to do it.

Speaker 4 (04:14):
Then she'll kill me, and then you have to make
a graphic.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
So like you could do the thing where you're like, look,
just because I'm on the radio doesn't mean that I
have to be the public speaker for everything in his family,
you know, like I don't know. I don't ask you
for or do you for free health care? No?

Speaker 4 (04:28):
No, no, because she always tells me nothing is wrong
with me, and I'm just freaking out, Like she takes
nothing serious. I could be dying and she'd like, you're fine,
put a bandate on. But you guys have this in
your family. I know you not telling Mama Fred I'm
not the spokesperson of the family. She wants you to
get up and host the wedding.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
You're gonna do it.

Speaker 1 (04:44):
I have to give every eulogy in face, and I'm like,
this is bullshit. I'm like, just because I talk on
the radio that I have to give all the hard speeches,
and they're like, no, absolutely not. I can't stand public speaking,
and I realize that people don't understand the difference oftentimes,
like what do you mean like public speaking? Like what
is this? This is not that. But I'm like, I
send my sister up there to do the hard thing.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
You know.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
I think my sister is a lot more emotional than
I am too, So maybe that's why they send me
up there, because they know that I'm made of stone,
so I'll probably get through it. But I'm like, why
do I have to do this? I mean, it's on honor,
but it's also hard yea, and uh, maybe I don't
want to so but yeah, or we get hit out
now my mom My mom has kind of gotten into
asking for tickets to stuff now too, really, which is like,

(05:27):
I guys, I don't, I don't.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
I don't have tickets.

Speaker 5 (05:31):
What does she want? Bruno Mars He's not on tour.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
So is my sister. They both have gotten into asking
for stuff. Now you know.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
How's that John Mrer situation going with your sister?

Speaker 3 (05:38):
What did we decide about that?

Speaker 4 (05:39):
Right?

Speaker 8 (05:40):
Well, we have tickets to see him here. It's hard
when you ask for tickets and another.

Speaker 1 (05:44):
That's what That's what I'm trying to tell. That's why
I tell my mom. She's like, I want to go
to whatever. I'm like, I don't know anyone there, Like,
I don't you think. She's like, we'll just call him
and ask him. I'm like, oh yeah, because they care. Hey,
guys in worrying wherever. I'm fred, Hi, how are you?

Speaker 7 (06:00):
Do you feel like a loser though, because for me, yeah, yeah,
I regularly feel like a loser.

Speaker 6 (06:07):
I do.

Speaker 5 (06:08):
That was just a statement.

Speaker 9 (06:10):
I do.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
Like what else?

Speaker 4 (06:13):
I feel like I let them down when they ask
me for Like, they have no business asking me for
Taylor Swift tickets.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
You have no bit like the audacity of you to
ask me that.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
But for some reason, I still feel like a loser
because I can't get it for you.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
I feel bad on Taylor.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
I don't I haven't felt bad at all because it's
like it's just I just know how real it is,
like they're you know, usually there's a little we have
a little bit of a surplus on tickets, and usually
there's something can be done, you know, if I want
to do it. But this one, I know it is
not like it there just isn't. And so I don't
feel bad telling people know because I don't have I

(06:48):
really don't have them. It's not a matter of me
being too lazy to ask Jason if we do. It's
I just know they don't exist. So I have no
trouble saying no, I don't have them because I know
I don't.

Speaker 4 (06:58):
Sometimes though, I don't even want to ex Jason, Like
I just stop putting this pressure on me, Like why
do I you know, just because I know Jason doesn't
mean I need to call him every time my doctor
anybody wants to take it.

Speaker 8 (07:09):
Most shows I don't care about. But it's a known
thing in this building too, that like no one's coming
to me for Taylor. So I think, like it's just
it's no because I'm like I don't even know if
I'm going right, let alone.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Well, and the other thing is I love obviously, I
love my mom my sister, and I do anything for him.
But like, I think what my mom doesn't understand is like,
let's say that I did call and make something happen,
I owe that person something.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Right, and I don't.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
I don't, like, I don't want to owe anybody in
this industry anything like I don't. I don't want to
owe you down the road. I gotta do, you know, bs,
because now we're talking about my career, you know. So
it's like I don't think she understands. It's not it's
not as simple as like, oh, just give it to
me because I'm me or something. It's like, no, that
person's gonna call. It may not cost anything, but it
always costs something. And I don't like that.

Speaker 5 (07:55):
Let me just marintate on that that was deep.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
It may not cost something anything, but it always costs something.

Speaker 3 (08:02):
That's right.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
That was really deep. And it's true for a lot
of different things, not just tickets.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
I can't.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
For me, it costs something for show.

Speaker 3 (08:10):
We know, we know people.

Speaker 5 (08:12):
I don't know if we can be friends anymore.

Speaker 9 (08:14):
Like I'm really sad that you would make money off
your friends.

Speaker 8 (08:18):
Scammer.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
Yeah, well, I'm not surprised, I am. I yeah, I
feel the same way. I'm not the least bit surprised
that you sam your friends. But I'm a little sad
about that. And I'm never buying anything from you ever. Okay,
that's fine because I is it fine?

Speaker 2 (08:32):
Yeah? Okay.

Speaker 8 (08:33):
If we didn't have tickets to Taylor Swift and you
had them, would you up charge them to sell them
to Kitlin and I you say yes?

Speaker 9 (08:41):
That makes me so sad, like genuinely, this is not
for the rido. That makes me really sad, Like I'll
think about that when I can't sleep sometimes from now
on because I.

Speaker 5 (08:49):
Really loved him. Like, that's messed up.

Speaker 4 (08:51):
Look at this guy, how much like three times the price.

Speaker 6 (08:54):
For you, the same situation that that Kiki's core was
it three hundred dollars? That's nothing to see Taylor Swift.

Speaker 9 (09:02):
So you're someone's favorite artist, someone that they love more
than anything, you would do that? What do you think?

Speaker 6 (09:08):
I was trying to do it on Ticketmaster buy tickets
for myself.

Speaker 5 (09:11):
No wait a minute, So if you I was on Ticketmaster,
you have gotten.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
Whoa wha whoa whoa whoah.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
Because I was under the impression that you were on
Ticketmasters so you could help them.

Speaker 6 (09:20):
No, ticket Measters buy things resell.

Speaker 5 (09:25):
I would genuinely love you, and that makes me really sad.

Speaker 8 (09:28):
I would never I'm not believing. I'm chalking it up
to he's just saying this. I can't believe it.

Speaker 3 (09:33):
At my heart of heart, I don't believe that you
would do that to me.

Speaker 8 (09:37):
Yeah, like I can't.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
Believe this time. I thought you were trying to get
tickets to give to them. No, and I can understand
recouping your investment, right, So like again, if you want
to get one hundred and fifty dollars tickets on Ticketmaster,
then the fees and whatever else. Let's say two tickets
cost five hundred bucks. I don't know what I know
the fees are crazy. So let's just say your cost
was more than face value by a little bit. Well,

(09:59):
then you charge that, you know, like if I can
get somebody like I once heard of somebody got somebody
a deal on some clothing and then they said, well,
I can get you this thousand dollars thing for seven
hundred bucks, but there was still tax. So the person
then comes and gives the other person seven hundred bucks.
Thank you, and the person's like, no, it's actually eight
hundred and thirty dollars because yet, and it's like, but

(10:22):
you told me seven hundred and it's like, no, my
cost I had still to pay tax and shipping. So
my cost is this, it's still you still would have
had to pay all that if you'd bought it yourself,
But you wouldn't have saved the three hundred dollars. And
it became a whole thing between the two of them, like,
well I didn't know there was tax.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
What you're saving money?

Speaker 3 (10:40):
But that's my point. My point is right.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
My point is if if my cost is X, then
you can pay my cost. If it's not a gift
but nothing more, I'm not going to make you pay more.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Just I would never makes me really sad.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
I call you, Hey, you too. I got Taylor tickets
there thousand bucks a piece today.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
I don't think I would even if I see.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
That's actually.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
And you thought I was.

Speaker 5 (11:14):
Would never.

Speaker 10 (11:16):
And if I got Beyonce tickets, which are almost as
hard to find, I would give them two Kiki for
what I paid for them, one hundred million percent because
she's a huge fan.

Speaker 4 (11:26):
And I would offer you like, okay, thank you so much, Kyle,
let me buy you dinner for doing this.

Speaker 5 (11:31):
Yeah, and I would be like, not necessary, but fine.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
Whatever kind of wonder Because remember, Angie, she knew somebody
who got World Series tickets at Wrigley when the Cubs
in the World Series. She sold them to me. I
want to say that I saw the price, but here's
what I don't know. I don't know if she was
given those tickets or if she paid for them, because
I wrote her a check for the what I believe

(11:55):
to be the face value of the tickets.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
That being said, we got to find out.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Here's an doesn't matter because here's the thing this I
will say about that she could have gone and didn't
give a shit because she doesn't like the socks. She
could have gone, do I think If I do? I
think if she didn't buy them, that's kind of shitty. Yeah,
but I couldn't have bought face value tickets no matter
how hard I tried.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
Nobody could.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
So if I had to pay pay face value, at
least I got to go. So I don't that doesn't
bother me as much. What would bother me is if
she didn't pay them and charge me scalper prices. On
top of that, which she did not do. But my
point is, my point in the whole thing is that
she had access to something that she didn't want, and
she knew she didn't want it, so she sold them
to me. Now again, did she make money on that?

(12:41):
I don't think so. But even if she had, as
long as it's the same price I would have paid
on the ticket, that's then I can live with that,
because otherwise I wouldn't go it.

Speaker 5 (12:49):
Yeah, no, I mean, I'm with you.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
If I had access to something that I didn't like
but you guys really loved, i'd make sure you went.

Speaker 9 (12:58):
To be honest, it's also a little selfish because I
would know, like Kiki would be so happy from that,
and I like would love seeing someone that I love
so happy, Like that would be enough for me. And
in this economy, making money off your friends like.

Speaker 10 (13:11):
That ship eatingerant on your face, I gotta do it,
she honestly changes.

Speaker 8 (13:17):
I can't believe that I'm wiping this for my memory
because I can't.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
I can't.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
It's on tape, so digital or whatever it's on. It's
in the cloud, guys, I don't know what it is. Okay, Well,
we learned a lot today, guys, we learned a lot crazy.
Latest episode episode of The Tang available, lots of episodes
we'd listen to if you're just now joining us. But
thank you for listening, and we'll see you again on another,

(13:43):
yet another episode of The Friend Show, which you could
also listen to on the iHeartRadio.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Wait, wait, why is it funny?

Speaker 5 (13:49):
Because it was just funny.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
I'm just promoting all the ship.

Speaker 5 (13:51):
It sounded funny like we were like not going to
return some rubble. We are returning tomorrow. Maybe I'm up.

Speaker 1 (13:57):
Might be I'm gonna start charging a mission for up,
like like I get paid to come in here, but
I might say that Rufio has to pay me fifty
bucks to get on the air from now.

Speaker 3 (14:07):
Oh my god'm doing that fucking pass.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
This guy to speak?

Speaker 5 (14:14):
Oh my god, every time he talks, he.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Has to get charged twenty five cents a word, Rufio,
you go running up like it's.

Speaker 6 (14:20):
Always away, silent, Just one, two three, that's a dollar.

Speaker 11 (14:25):
If you can't, oh the last seventy five cents. Oh hey, Rufio, No, no,
I'm not charging you, hey, Rufeo, Yes.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
That's that's

Speaker 3 (14:46):
Thanks for listening to the and see you next time.
