Speaker 1 (00:00):
Speaking to the NBA. It's amazing. You know, they're going
to introduce a new all star game format, right USA
versus the World in a three team format. Here's what
they're going to do. They're going to have two different
Team usas and one World team. They're going to play

(00:22):
a Ryder Cup like format. Okay, this according to ESPN,
give them credit. What they're going to do is they're
going to take one team that consists of eight players,
and they're going to play a twelve minute quarter, and

(00:44):
they're going to play like a round robin, and then
the two teams that are the best or end up
winning are the teams that play in the final quarter.
I guess twelve minute quarter. If you will, it's in
to me. I don't. I just don't. Why not just
play a game between Team USA and Team Europe.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
I why not the same thing? Because the Team World,
if there's only eight players on Team World, that's gonna
be the best team at all? Three? Is that a
hot take?

Speaker 1 (01:15):
I don't think.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
So. You're gonna have Luka Donciz, you're gonna have Nicola Jokich,
you're gonna have Giannis, those three alone right there.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
So here's what you'll have. This would be my guest.
I don't know if you can make two world teams,
why not just make a team USA, yes, and a
world team and have them play a full game.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah, I completely agree, That's my point.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Like that, Why is that so bad? Why do you
have to play? Why do you have to have two
team usas and one team you know, international and play
twelve minute courters play a full game? For Krannon lot
here's I don't think you could. It would be hard
to get two international teams and make them as good
as two USA teams, but the one international team if

(01:58):
you had pascalci Him Okay, Nikola Jokic, let's throw in
Demontes Sabonis, dual citizenship, uh Rudy Gobert, Luka, Doncic, Christops Porzingis,
went healthy, Franz Wagner, Shay Gilgus, Alexander.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Yeah right, he's Canadian?

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Yeah yeah, Jiannis Ante te Compo Okay.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Seem Goon out of Houston, the young kid, A lot
of people like him.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Yep. Josh Giddy's Australian. I don't know if that's a
reach off the bank. How about Lori Markanen? Yeah, suddenly
Victor Webbin Yama. How come a big one?

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Right? Jamal Murray's Canadian? Is he not?

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yeah? He is?

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Suddenly suddenly you got fourteen guys.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yeah, I mean, and that's a pretty damn good fourteen
guys too.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
We just named thirteen fourteen guys. Bo john Bygdanovic, you
could add him. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
It's not like you need to do the eight team
or eight guy team because you don't have enough.

Speaker 1 (03:02):
Okay, And if you did, let's just say you did,
why wouldn't you go too? And two? Why not go
a second international team? If we just gave you We
just gave you fifteen names, fifteen and some guys. You
could DeAndre Ayton if you wanted to, because he's from

(03:25):
he's from the Bahamas.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
I think Joel Embiid also has dual citizenship.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Yeah. Would would he want to be for Cameroon or
for Team US?

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Would he even be healthy enough to play?

Speaker 1 (03:35):
Hellably not?

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Probably?

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Probably not. My point is you could find oh what
about Goaka Portal he's Australian. You could find two teams
if you wanted to do the eight team thing, eight
player team thing, you could find two for the international
and team for Usaly. And if you and if you

(03:59):
only wanted to have one international team because you were
afraid that you would water it down with two, which
again I think we would. You and I could both
agree that you could make a strong two team at
least a five man rotation. You're only playing twelve minutes,
for crying out loud, then I don't know why you

(04:19):
wouldn't try that either.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Yeah, and you could have the two World teams play
each other first, the two USA teams play each other,
and then you still have USA versus World in the final, right.
I don't that MEA can't do anything right with this candidate.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
They can't get it right. Man. I can't stop thinking
about people in a conference room and coming up with
this idea and them looking around and going, this is
a really good idea.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
Let's do this that goes all the way through.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
And nobody thinks of the negative pushback. And it's not
just a talk show host in Michigan. My hope is
there are people nationally once this report leaks from ESBN
that people say, hold on, why would you do this?
There's more negative about this than positives. They're trying to
copy what the NHL did last year, but they don't

(05:12):
know how to do it, and they're doing it incorrectly.
It's not that hard. Get a damn whiteboard, put it
behind you and go old school. Go Vince Lombardi, go ahead,
start writing names on there, do a PowerPoint presentation. I
don't give a crap. It's not that hard. You're trying

(05:33):
to tell me you can't find sixteen qualified international players
to make up two teams. You got to do a
three team, eight man player type of situation for twelve minutes.
You didn't learn from last year where Piston's fans got
Kid Cunningham for five flip and minutes. What is wrong
with these people? How do they think this is a

(05:54):
good idea? Play one damn game. Have a twelve man
roster of the best Americans who want to play, the
best international players who want to play, and see who's better.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
They got sick of East and West, so then they
started getting their no, we.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Don't we don't want it to be like the Olympics.
That's I truly believe that, which is ridiculous. This is
a bragging right. Make the game mean something. You might
actually get eyeballs
