(00:05):
Well that sounds of Robert Plant ledZeppelin on Boston's Classic Rock one hundred point
seven WZLX. Would you like tohave your mind blown? Yeah, I've
mentioned this before on my other programshere in the station. Robert Plant recorded
that tour de force with Zeppelin whenhe was twenty one years old. Man,
that is what twenty one year olddick and sound like that? No?
(00:28):
Right, you think about our classicrock artists in their youth. I
mean, you know Springsteen comes tomind, Born to Run. He was
twenty seven when they did you sayutes utestes seven twenty eight to fifty two
degrees. I got an email.Oh, by the way, it's going
to be increasing clouds today, bedamp and dank, and then tomorrow we're
(00:48):
supposed to have plenty of rain forthe weekend. Well it is Saturday,
after all, sure, and thenSunday hopefully the rain ends. But it's
going to be cooler, all right. So I got an email. This
guy is referring to our Happy Endingpodcast, which, by the way,
we record at the end of eachprogram and you can catch it on the
iHeartRadio app. It's explicit, right, it's short, it's to the point
(01:15):
it's vastly entertaining ten to fifteen minutesof audio that starts usually with flatulence.
It's just our signature open bodily humors. It's what we've come up with to
open the podcast, the Happy Endingpodcast. So this guy, Tom,
Tom Brooks, Thanks for listening,he says. Boy, the latest ones,
(01:38):
the flatulence openings. Yeah, youbetter take care of checking your oh
and checking your laundry so there couldbe a medical after yeah, he says.
Tom also says, found something interestingyou guys might might want, you
know, to look over it.I've heard these stories before, a library
(02:00):
books being returned. We've all heardthem, you know, after years and
years and decades, and you knowwhat's the fee going to be? I
remember, because I'm from that era, you know where you had Oh sure,
listen. I know all about theDewey decimal system. Yeah, the
Dewey decimal and the cards in theback that were stamped with the date and
the return date and all that. And I can remember my mom being really
(02:24):
conscious of that, like you needto get this library book back by you
know, Tuesday whatever, you know, after the weekend. And she was
basically saving what a quarter, right, But it was the principle of it.
Right, be responsible and be respectful, Be respectful, get this thing
(02:45):
back. So this story out ofNew York State is about a guy who
did not return a book and itwas finally returned by a family member ninety
years later. The Archmond Public Libraryin New York has been around that long.
Wow, where this person returned thatbook. They have many leather bound
(03:08):
books. The fines could have beencalculated at sixty five hundred dollars for the
late fees. That's not bad forninety years. Do you think they were
charged anything. I'm guessing not theywere. You're hitting they were charged five
dollars, five dollars, five dollars. Let's let's not forget about that again,
the principle. I know it's theprinciple, but let's not forget about
(03:30):
the victims here. Okay, Yeah, I know what you're thinking. It's
just gotta make it such a bigstink about the library books. Let me
give you a get too. Maybewe can live without libraries people like you
and me. Maybe sure, we'retoo old to change the world. What
about that kid sitting down opening abook right now in a branch of the
local library and finding drawings of peepeesand we weis and a cat in the
(03:52):
hair and the five Chinese Brothers.Doesn't he deserve better? Look if you
think this is about overdue fines andmissing books, yeah, but I think
again, this is about that kid'sright to read a book with um getting
his mind word. Maybe that turnsyou on Seinfeld. Maybe that's how you
get your kicks, you and yourgood time buddies. Well I got a
flash for you, joy boy.Party time is over. Yeah, that's
(04:14):
right, return those books and don'tdraw on me either. Seven fifty two
degrees it's Boston's Classic Rock one hundredpoint seven Wslex Carlson Mackenzie and Heather Kenny
Young our producer, Kevin and Heatherout to day. Well you know what
that means, Pete indeed, Ohit's just that too, of U.
(04:41):
Yeah, you and I Kenny makingbuilding castles in the sky. Yes,
yes, seven forty two degrees. We got your ticket to rock coming up
in just a few minutes, Sohang in there for the Dropkick Murphy tickets
Big Saint Patrick's Day weekend for them, I mean four shows, four shows
House of Blues MGM over by Fenway. That is going to be a fun
(05:04):
weekend, at least for the dropkickMurphy's I would imagine. So, oh,
yeah, Kenny, let's get intothis. I gotta tell you about
it. Oh, we got todo what's off? What's calling off?
What's calling off? So longtime listenersof the show would probably be familiar with
(05:28):
the fat farm that my buddies andI did over and over. Yes,
Ravingham fat farmers a bunch of bunchof fannies. I'm framing him. We
get together, yeah, pub guys, and at the start of the year,
we'd lose weight so we'd look goodin the spring for our golf,
but also for a monetary gain.Right, Yes, we'd all throw it
(05:50):
one hundred dollars. There are usuallysomewhere between eight and ten of us,
and we'd lose weight, and thepercentage of weight loss would be winter.
So I engaged some family members inOhio. How many are in the pool?
We have nine in the pool, three women. For the first time,
I'm competing against women in a weightloss contest. And everyone throw in
(06:13):
a hondo. Everyone threw in ahondo, and the and the you know,
the world of Venmo makes it soeasy. Now my Venmo looks so
big right now because of all thesethat's what she said, these entrances speaking
of that's what she said, Kenny, this the text threat. I got
a text thread going, I'm thecommissioner of this Ohio fat farm. Okay,
I kicked it off. I setup the rules and all that nonsense.
(06:35):
But there is one guy in itwho is my sister in law,
my new sister in law, Suzanne. It's her brother David. And he
did he admit to everybody say it, I am fat. That was one
of the meetings you guys had.So this guy he lost twenty five pounds
(06:58):
already for the wedding, for hissister's wedding, he had already lost twenty
five pounds. Good for him.And he's not a he's not a huge
guy, right, but he is. He is flooding the threads, not
with food that he's eating, butwith the workouts he's doing. Oh,
he's trying to intimidate. So he'sdoing a lot of cado, he's doing
a lot of cardio. He is. He's doing what you need to be
(07:21):
doing. His fat burning. That'swhat you need to be doing. Okay,
that's any tips for us Pete.Well, you know, the cardio
is great and you you do breaka sweat, but to do the fat
burn burning, you got to kickit up a notch and push the muscles
a little further. You gotta getyour body into fat burning mode. Yeah.
Now this seems like an awkward timeto do it because the holidays.
(07:43):
Are you talking about cocaine? Todo the whole weight loss the old way
of weight loss, going back tothe eighties. There, Yeah, that's
right. So you want to,like when you're on the let's say the
treadmill or the bike, instead offast walking or fast biking, you want
to do slower biking than has moreresistance resistance. Oh, that's when you
(08:03):
start burning fat. I've done theuh what do you call it? Intervals?
You know where you go at alike a slow and steady pace and
then for like two minutes you gohard. You go real hard, right,
right, And that's great for cardio. So one of the texts was
he posts a picture of Cord he'srow he's on a rowing machine, you
know, he's throwing his stats outthere and he and then he says,
(08:24):
it's the only way to beat youPete or Jim or mark other guys in
the content, doesn't mention any ofthe women. And then he ends it
with got to stay hard. Andthen my wife responds with that's what she
said. Yeah, so he's goinghard. H And here here's the thing.
(08:45):
Here's the other thing about lozo andwe're doing it in a short amount
of time. This this well, that was my next question. When does
this thing wrap up? This wrapsup on Wednesday before Thanksgiving? Okay,
so it's just thirty nine day, fair right, it's fair right, thirty
nine days so you can enjoy theholidays. So the other thing, the
other suggestion I have for strategy iswhen you're in this fast weight burning or
(09:07):
weight loss contest, is ramp itup. You don't have to come out
of the gates full board. Yeahyou know. You get your body adjusted
to the food you're eating. Youdon't want to shock your system with a
bunch of working outs. Do thatfor five, six, seven days and
then start that Pete, this hasbeen very helpful. It's been very constructive.
Yeah, it has, it has, and I wish all the but
(09:30):
I'm rooting for the girls. Look, let's just throw two weights out there
to forty and one hundred and fifty. Okay, are you the two forty.
You lose ten percent of your weighto two four it's twenty four pounds.
That's a lot of pounds. That'sa lot of weight. Yeah,
you lose ten percent of your weightto one hundred and fifty. That's fifteen
pounds. Advantage girls, in myopinion, vantage. Everybody's different, as
(09:52):
metabolism and makeup is different. Allright, we have some business to take
care of. You got business?Pete seven WCLX, Hey, sure ticket
to rock now? Well, rightnow you can win your ticket to rock.
Win them before you can buy them. These tickets don't even go on
sale till ten am. Dropkick Murphy'sMGM Music Hall. That's just one of
(10:15):
the venues they'll be playing over SaintPatrick's Day weekend. Let's get you into
the uh Friday, March fifteenth showfor Dropkick Murphy's right now, call it
ten six one seven ninety three oneone double oh seven. Good luck from
your friendly neighborhood, WZX Planet Fitness, WZLX Studios. Now now, thanks
for making us part of your morning. Good Lines with Heathers. Great story
(10:37):
on one hundred point seven w ZXBox from the Edward R. Moreau Award
winning news desk. I'm kiddy youngin for Heather forward. That sounds official,
didn't it. But like that guysaid earlier, right, we should
have a substitute intro when Heather's notin. I'm just saying, when it
happens throughout the year, well submityour ideas, put them in the idea
(10:58):
box. Suggestion. If anybody witha home studio wants to take the time
to do their own, haven it, buddy, yep, I got a
lot of balls we're juggling in theair right now, and it's all going
to wind up with a nice field, good Friday. You're gonna want to
stick around for I guarantee it,all right. Listen and congrats right off
the top to Dan Kennedy of Whitonsville. He just scored tickets to our dropkick
(11:20):
Murphy's if you missed out there threeforty this afternoon with Chuck all right for
that Saint Patrick's State residency. Wouldn'tthe challenge be to go every to every
one of those shows? It wouldbe not much of a challenge. I
think just financially, tickets go onsale ten am. It's a lot of
party and you just don't sit backand listen to music. A marathon,
not a sprint Thursday to Sunday thisyear, Let's take you out to the
(11:43):
ninth Massachusetts town that has reported aninfestation of the spotted lantern fly. Have
you heard of these beat? Thesethings have been doing damage across the country
for a long time now. Andwhat they do is it's a nuisance.
(12:05):
They feed on sap, They damagevineyards orchards, trees, agricultural commodities.
They wreak havoc all right. Theycan take out full, full lines of
maples, walnuts. They have aswarming behavior during mating season, and so
they're really bad. They're they're doinga lot of damage. So, according
to the Massachusetts Invasive Pest Dashboard, some towns that have already spotted these little
(12:30):
buggers this year have been Holy Oak, Springfield, Worcester, Shrewsbury, Southborough.
Well Now they've moved further east, spotted most recently this week in Wellesley.
Wellesley. Yes, going to beable to handle it, I don't
know, is it overwhelming? Mightbe too much? Right, they're going
(12:50):
to be hiding indoors out there.I guess mass officials are asking the public
to take a photo or collect aspecimen and report the to the the mda
r's online reporting form, which youcan find through mass dot gov. So,
yeah, these things are and it'sa tiny little thing. It kind
of looks like a stink bug.But again it's got spotted things on its
(13:11):
wings. Yeah, they're kind ofcolorful. But all right, So you
people in Wellesley with your gold platedpesticide containers and you get some tweezers,
yeah, to grab a sample andturn it in. Should you should listen?
You'd think you and I would thinkPete that this next story is a
feel good Friday, but it's not. But I am going to make you
(13:33):
feel good if you like to playgolf. Canton, Massachusetts, is set
to open its doors on Friday,November three, for the first Top Golf
location here in New England. Yeah, this was supposed to be in twenty
twenty four. I remember when thisstory came out a couple of months ago,
maybe several months ago, and theywere talking twenty twenty four. They're
(13:54):
opening early in time for the holidays. Now. Top Golf is not your
average, ordinary driving range. Forpeople that are wondering what the hell is
it? Why are you talking aboutit? Right? This thing is an
entertainment mecca. Three decks, okay, multiple decks, and out in the
range itself is multiple targets and there'sall kinds of different games involved that are
all electronically tracked and scored for you, so you don't have to worry about
(14:18):
that. So it's good for likeamateurs, people that occasionally like to get
out and just try to hit theball as far as they can. This
is for you, but also forpeople that do play, this is just
a great time and they get thefull bar weight service down and they automatically
tee up the ball for you.Oh yeah, the machine right. Yeah,
you hit a button on the floorwith your the ahead of your club
and bow it comes right, aball pops right out of the ground.
(14:41):
Yeah. So first venue in Massachusettsthe big milestone for the company. This
will be the eighty fourth outdoor topgolf in the country. And oh,
by the way, climate controlled heatingbase. I know what you're thinking too.
Well, they're opening November, butgolf season so short. Nope,
Nope, they're going to keep theheaters on so you'll be able to get
(15:01):
you know, they crank tuons yeah, No, they're fantastic. I've been
to one in Ohio and it's fantastic. I get there, I get their
urgency to open November three because it'sa huge place for company parties. Okay,
no, I'm guaranteeing they'll be bookedthrough the end of the year,
you know. Yeah, yeah, well they're having to staff up to four
(15:22):
hundred people just for the Canton location. Yeah, it's it's a fun place.
This is a big deal. Irecommend bringing your own clubs though.
Oh yeah, you got to bringyour own pace. Yeah. It's like
going to a driving range and youknow, using the driver that's not going
to be using a Dunlop driver outthere, all right, or some you
know, Spaulding Golf, both Spaulding. So it's very excited about that top
golf because I've had buddies that havegone to locations around the country and they
(15:45):
say how much fun they have, and the wives go and they make a
night of it, and it's it'scool. I remember a few years ago,
Kenny, my friends of ours,we went to New York City and
we took the whole tour. Youknow, we got on the boat and
looked at the Statue of Liberty, and I remember seeing what I thought was
a top golf right there near theStatue of Liberty. But yeah, that's
that was just some driving like StatenIsler, Chelsea Pierce, Esse, Chelsea
(16:08):
Peers. That's what it was. That's what it was. And it looked
like I was the one that's alwaysin like TV shows and movies, right
right, Oh my god? Yeah, all right, we're ready for it
now, and are you ready forit? I'm ready for it. Our
feel good Friday moment of the day. Let's do a drum roll please.
You know. I've had my AmericanCancer Society Men Wear Pink campaign going since
(16:30):
the beginning of the month here, raising a lot of dough for research and
development, trying to help get acure for cancer during National Breast Cancer Awareness
Month. Such great work these peopledo year round for ACS, trying to
help Kenny and those involve crush cancer. That's right. I'm trying to crush
some of my constituents and raise themost money here. So so far,
(16:52):
so far. What's your goal?My goal is twenty five hundred As of
today, October twentieth, eleven elevendays left, one thousand, six hundred
and ninety eight dollars. It's agood, kady, nice job. We're
feeling good about where we're at witheleven days, but we still have a
(17:12):
ways to go. So I imploreyou on behalf of American Cancer Society.
I implore you go check out mylinks on social media. I've got them
posted there. It's safe, it'ssecure, it takes just a few seconds
and boom, you're helping them makea difference. Yeah, and that terrible
disease touches so many lives, somemore than others, closer than others.
(17:33):
Yeah, you're a perfect example ofthat. Thank you, sir. And
it's just man, just it makesyou feel good that somebody is doing what
you and many others are doing, trying to raise those funds. Yeah.
For the American Cancer Society Boston. As a team, I think there's what
is there, ten of us,eleven of us. We're very close to
(17:55):
reaching the regional goal, so we'retrying to crush other markets to and raise
the most cool but real quick afteryesterday, I talked about this too right
around this time. Yes, thanksto Kerrie smith Susan McCormick, Linda Frank,
Steve Gomes, Julie Smith, DannyPascaros, Steve Garoffalo, all these
people just this week ponying up tonsof dough for my midwear pink campaigns.
(18:17):
Nice you see me out wearing pink. This is why we're trying to make
a difference. So anything you cando much appreciated. And again thanks for
the station here for giving me theplatform to help raise this. Absolutely canning
the one thing I do a yearto try to give back. You are
dedicated to that event. Yes youcould say I'm a big shot. Oh
that was terrible. I'll show myselfup. You're on Boston's Classic Rock one
(18:41):
hundred point seven w ZLX. You'rhome for the most commercial free music.
Of course, it's eight fifteen fiftytwo degrees in Boston. Long on the
top. Go one in Cranton.Rhode Island opened up two weeks ago.
We beat you, Massachusetts. I'msorry, Kenny B. You're on.
And by the way, what islandis part of New England. Yeah we
(19:03):
knew that. I never that wasnever in debate, but uh yeah,
hey yeah I said right off thetop, because I say in the new
Top golf is opening in Canton,so I thought it was the first in
New England. It's the first inMassachusetts, so thank you. I think
his name was Mark, and wehad another fellow too, so thank you
for pointing that out. I'll stepup and say yes, I'm sorry,
I said New England, Cranston,Rhode Island. You win the race to
(19:25):
the first top golf in the inthe region. Ken's opens November third,
just in time for the holiday partiesthat they'll be booking. I'm sure the
place will be booked right onto theholidays. All right, So increasing clouds
today, gonna be damp, bankall that stuff. High around sixty.
Then the rain moves in for tomorrow, temperatures in the sixties. Mackenzie and
Heathers. What what the moment ofthe day on w CLX. Well,
(19:52):
I love when TV stations have toreport on their own people. It's always
fun. Yeah. This Fox Newsstation out of Chicago, go their helicopter,
Skyfox if you will, was outand about covering a story. It
was on there on its way backfrom a report, headed back to Chicago.
So the guy takes off from thislittle airport in Wisconsin. I don't
(20:12):
know what he was doing in Wisconsinreporting for the city of Chicago. But
as he took off, he reachednear top speeds during takeoff when a seagull
shattered his bubble on the helicopter. What like like ran into the glass of
(20:36):
the helicopter. We're talking about abird strike here. Shouldn't those windshield spider
like should they shed? I meanthis temper glass? Yeah, like tempered
glass. I mean, do youlook at this helicopter. It put a
hole in that bubble of glass onthe helicopter. I'm sure we're going to
get the helicopter community telling us surethat why that happened, right, That's
(20:59):
right. So there was a cameramanon board. The pilot was able to
land safely without disrupting any traffic, found a field somewhere and was able to
bring it down avoided all the commotion. But I would say the next time
he's in that helicopter, he doesn'thave French fries with him, because seagulls
will go after those every time, every single time. We know they was
(21:23):
traveling at a good speed in routesouthbound after leaving the airport, and he
took the bird strike, was ableto calm in collectively land in a field
without having to disrupt any traffic orcause anybody harm. Everyone was fine,
they refused medical attention. But youmight be wondering, what are the chances
of a bird strike? Well, according to FAA numbers, eighty four bird
(21:47):
strikes were reported in Wisconsin this year, two hundred and twenty five in Illinois
in all of twenty twenty two.Wow, maah, that's quite a bit.
I'd say there are much more birdstrikes at the end of a pier
when you're eating a lot roll onFrench fries. Lots of bird strikes there,
right, Kenny, have you everhad a food stolen from you just
a sea beach, just at thebeach. Yeah, yeah, it's it's
(22:08):
worse than flies. Seagulls, Yeah, they're really big. That was Carlson
mackenzie and Heather's what the moment ofthe day week days at eight fifteen on
seven WCLX Carlson McKenzie and Heather KennyYoung our producer Kevin out today and Monday.
Heather returns for us. On Mondayeight twenty four, fifty two degrees.
(22:30):
We got to talk back concerning theWTF moment of the day, which
was a seagull smashing through the windshieldof a helicopter traffic copter. Right yees
news copter in mid air. Igot a call from one of America's finests.
That's right, yeah, all right, quiet on the set. Okay,
guys, is pat down there inPlymouth. While I was in the
(22:52):
military, I was a loadmaster ona C one thirty. We're coming into
Memphis, Tennessee. The land.We hit ducks, oh and did one
point nine million dollars worth of damageto the aircraft. Wow, I mean
that's a bit Sea one thirty. We've all seen those. Sure, they're
enormous. Hitting a hit a birdin the middle of the air. It
(23:14):
ain't nothing to laugh about. Weweren't, trust me, We weren't laughing
about it. You would think thata Sea one thirty would deflect a couple
of ducks two million dollars in damage. Unreal, that's crazy. Clouds on
the increase. Today you're going tohave some showers developing, and then tomorrow
looks Let me guess. Let meguess about tomorrow. It's gonna rain because
(23:36):
it's Saturday. It's Saturday in NewEngland. That's what we've been getting.
And then Sunday maybe the showers clearout. Early and then it'll be windy
and breezy right now, fifty twodegrees in Boston. Well, I had
our financial forecast brighten up and beall sunny and cheery yesterday. Let me
get into it here, red timeit rains, it rains. Pennies from
(24:00):
Heather, Yeah, yesterday, KevinRansom audio of He's at the gas station,
and you know, he's an avidcollector of pennies in the in the
wild. Every time he sees apenny heads up, he picks it up.
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. He's got a drawer full of
what he calls lucky pennies. Pennies. You gotta have one lucky penny,
yeah, And that's it. Youcan't have a drawer full of lucky pennies.
(24:22):
I have an Irish Euro with aharp that I use that as as
lucky you know, talisman as itwere. But so anyway, so he
runs this video yesterday, and youbet your sweet ass, I'm picking that
penny up, Yeah, like hedoes with every penny. So he goes
into the gas station for those thatdidn't hear yesterday, buys a ten dollars
scratch ticket hits for twenty yes,he just like with the lucky penny.
(24:45):
That's what he used. Scratch upright, so real quick. The wife
and I were at one of thebox stores picking up our you know,
way too many paper goods for theseller. We were stalking up as it
were, as we go every sixmonths or so. Yeah, and we're
coming out. I look down.I go, oh, not one but
two pennies. Two pennies were sittingthere. One no, only one of
(25:07):
them was heads up. So thewife goes over and I say, go,
oh, don't touch the one thattails up. That's bad luck.
Don't touch that. I said,we got to pick the one that's heads
up. So I tell her thestory about Kevin. I said, hey,
on our way home, we gotto stop and get a scratcher,
you know what I mean, andthen use that lucky So neither of us
had any cash on us. Butthe wife digs into her purse and she
(25:30):
pulls out something that you just don'tsee very often these days, and that
my friend was a two dollar billdoing another two dollars bill. Where the
hell did that come from? Idon't know why she has it. So
she got she said, and Iquote, I love you to death.
Honey, she says, do youthink they'll take it? Well, will
they accept it? I go,it is us currency they have to take.
(25:55):
So yeah. She goes into thecomedian store and a way home,
and she comes out with this. What's it called. It's called the snow
much money from the Mass Lottery. It's a winter theme two dollars scratch catching
name. So I said, allright, we'll scratch this when we get
home. I said. It workedfor Kevin, but now the odds are
slightly lower because it's a two dollarsscratch ticket. Right. Well, wouldn't
you know I used that lucky pennyI hit for two dollars for you.
(26:19):
I know. I didn't want tobe outdone by Kevin yesterday. Oh my
god. Well, the two thingsabout that two dollars bills you don't see
it much anymore, thank you.And the other is when you see a
penny that's tails, you can touchit, but you gotta flip it over
for the next person. By thenext person. See, maybe that's why
I only won two dollars. Passedthe lock along Caddy. All right,
(26:40):
hey, listen, we got theclassic rock clash on the way. Got
one last shot for you. Toscore this Van Halen Collection Volume two box
set. All right, all kindsof rarities on there, and every Hagar
album. The first collection was allthe Dave stuff. Now this is the
second one, so up for grabs. But lucky for you, you don't
have to go through me today.Nope, it's gonna Drew Drew filling in
for Kenny in the classic rock ClashEasy Pickens next un the Lex one hundred
(27:06):
point seven W's Lex, Boston's classicrock The Rolling Stones. Well, I'll
tell you this Pete tonight at seveno'clock, my nighttime show, my weeknight
show. Uh huh. I'm gettingbumped at seven o'clock tonight for some guy
named Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.Yeah, we've got We've got an iHeartRadio
Icons special tonight at seven o'clock featuringthe Rolling Stones because today they're dropping their
(27:30):
new album, Hackney Diamonds, firstnew studio record of original material in what
eighteen years? Yeah, Yeah,a brand new exclusive interview. You're only
gonna get it here on w'z Xseven o'clock tonight. It's funny because I
got a text yesterday. I'm ina text red with a couple of guys
who are getting that album they're gettingat delivered Monday. I think one of
them said ten pm. It's supposedto be at my house at ten pm
(27:52):
on Monday, And he was listeningon Vinyl. Is that Vinyl? Because
I got the download queued up inmy on my phone. Yeah, he's
getting the Vinyl album and he goes, I can't wait to listen to it
on my big box. And hisbig box quote unquote is a five thousand
dollars stereo system he has in hisbasement. So yeah, he loves investing
in vinyl at Sammy. Those rollingstones have real potential. Let me tell
(28:14):
you that's Drew hollandm Holland over there. Holland Drive a podcast by the way,

as Drew walks out of the studio. All right, Steve, you know

(30:32):
you know? Ooh, I'm gonnago with Jackville. It is Gainesville,
Gainesville, Florida. Yes, whichled Zeppelin's song title sounds like a fine
fabric, but the spelling is different, like fine fabric, Fine fabric.
Oh, it's like, well, there might be their second most played song.
(30:59):
That's a lot of way to sweater, stairway to sweater. How about
cashmere? Cashmere? Oh no,yeah, dude, all right. Journey's
music. Journey's music has been featuredin film soundtracks for over or Under twenty
five times, over yeah, twentynine times, all right, yeah,
(31:22):
and often heard on this show thisfeel Good Friday. It's a good that
is a parody of the final countdownby what band? E'repe? Yeah?
All right? Three out of five? Right? You get three out of
five? Okay, I think thatmight be all you need. I know,
(31:45):
Hang on a second, Steve. Here comes Drew, Here comes Drew
bringing in the business. I don'tknow why you felt the need to take
your shirt off, Drew, butthey each their own. I say,
yeah, why why is your chesthair black? And your field dies?
It is that? Okay? Allright, here we go, Okay.
Bruce Springsteen in the East Street Band, Bob Seeker and the Silver Bullet Band.
(32:07):
Tom Petty an Heartbreakers, U huh. Tom Petty, by the way,
born on this day in nineteen fiftyin what Florida city? Gainesville?
That's correct, Drew, which ledZeppelin's song title sounds like a fine fabric,
but the spelling is different. Ummohanking three seconds. It's a lot
(32:32):
of fabric. It's her second mostplayed song. I'm sorry it's cashmere.
Oh god. Yeah. Journey's musichas been featured in film soundtracks, over
or under twenty five times. Oh, it's gotta be over it. It
is over twenty nine times as amatter of fact. Okay, it's all
(32:54):
tied. All comes down to this. Yes, you're over under here?
Yeah, well often heard on thisshow. You hear this. We play
this a lot. It's a goodof course. That's a parodi of the
final countdown by what group? Aname that group? Oh, Steve,
(33:16):
he's quivering a final countdown. Thatwould be Europe, Steve, you know
what that means? Three. Itry not to disappoint. Hey. You
know what, Steve heard a lotmore than you did today. What's up?
(33:37):
That's that little sound effect? Okay, that bad, Larry, that's
what he was going to do.Hang on the line, buddy, We
gotta get some information from you.Nice job, Steve. Yeah, well
done. Hold on eight forty sixfifty two decrease at Boston's Classic Rock one

But if you're here and I'm here, doesn't that make it our time?
Our time? Yes, our time, Kenny. I was looking at
this story. This comes from Boston. I'm sorry. Bonusfinder dot com.

They're a casino search platform, Okay, And they did a little study on
subreddits by state. What state cursesthe most? Oh? Oh? I
gotta guess on Reddit? Oh onreddit or just in social media? Well,
it says subreddit searches just online checkgrooves. I you know, I'm
(34:44):
gonna go with New York. Itseems obvious New York, New Jersey I
would go for. I would thinkBoston. I mean, I put Massachusetts
Choosetts right there. Pennsylvania, youknow, if Philly and Pittsburgh. I
mean, I mean off the air. I work in profanity like a artist
works in paints, you know whatI mean, like watercolors and things.
What would I What would you thinkif I told you that the home state

this list. It's number six. What on the list of most cursing but
by state on these posts, Iowanumber six, No kidding, I never
would have suspected that Missouri at numberMissouri got cousins through marriage in Missouri,
(35:29):
Missouri. I'm still floored by thenumber one because I got relatives down there.
It's it's not the South. Now, I will say, like,
in all fairness, when I'm onthe golf course with with my Midwestern relatives,
there's plenty of you know, fbombs getting dropped, Okay, but
as a whole, I would neverthink those two would be up there.
So who do you got? Letme let me throw you. Number four
(35:51):
is Tennessee, Okay. Number threeis Florida. I'm just I'm fair by
the way, New York, Massachusetts, Penncil, New Jersey. None of
them are in the top ten. These are curse words used an average number
of posts on Reddit. Okay,Florida number three, Ohio, number two,

up the survey here six point ninecurse words per post on Reddit, so
they include all right, no,but oh yeah, okay, that's that's
(36:42):
a pretty healthy post. By theway, if you're managing to squeeze in
almost seven curse words, it's alot. That's every couple of words,
right, that's a lot. Sixfifty three fifty four degrees at Boston's Classic
Rock one hundred point seven WZLX,your home for the most commercial free music
in this town. Nine twenty onefour degrees, clouds today a little damp
sixty degrees and then tomorrow'll wash out. On Saturday, New England, what
(37:08):
do you expect, so, Kenny, question for you, Yes, sir.
When you are have plans like todo something without the wife, right,
do you strategize leading up to hownot to get caught? No,
just kidding, How to get permission, how to get like how to oh,
(37:30):
to get the okay, to getthe okay? Well, you know
you can't just go make these plansyou First, first you got to get
an invite, then you got toget a sit down, and then you
got to get the okay. Right, It's kind of like the mafia a
little bit from what I from whatI've read. So what I like to
do is I strategize by trying todo certain things that my wife has asked
(37:52):
me to do over maybe the courseof a couple of weeks. For example,
I sent you a set of pictures. The dog has been tracking in
mud because of the like, hasworn out a portion of the backyard where
he loves to stand in this onespot, and of course there's no growth
there, it's just dirt. Now. So what I've done is, according
to those pictures, there is I'vecreated a stone bed. It looks like
(38:14):
there's a man achievement in these pictures. Yes, there is. You've been
doing some landscaping, done some landscaping, did a little border around a lilac
bush and threw some stone down, which so there's no longer dirt there,
it's just dry. I should Ishould point out to the listeners in these
photos you've done an excellent job creatingan edge, a trench border around this
(38:35):
tree. Yes, separating the baseof the tree from from the lawn.
I think you've done a great job. Thank you. It looks like a
professional has done this. This wasa couple of trips to Low's to get
the pea stone grass. Oh younever go once to those places. No,
you never do. So I accomplishedwhat I set out to do,
because I did. I got thisdone this week, you know, this
little project in my mind, I'mthinking, because I have to ask her
(39:00):
if I can play in a turna golf tournament on Sunday, which happens
to be our our thirty fifth wedding. Anniverse. Oh no, oh,
I think I know what the answeris gonna be. Oh she was fine
with it. Are you serious?Yeah? She was okay with it.
(39:22):
That's a big ass. I knowwe're gonna do our We're going to celebrate
our thirty fifth on Saturday, right, and then Sunday morning I'll be getting
up and going to the tournament.Wow on our anim raised my glads to
you, sir and say happy Wow. Hard to believe. Nineteen eighty eight,
(39:46):
buddy, Wow, have you gota good gal there? Which I
already knew but yeah, yeah, same year Kevin got Maybe Kevin I both
got married in nineteen eighty eight.Yeah. Now, let me ask you
something, And I think I alreadyknow the to it. But if if
the tables were turned old Bell andyou and she were to ask you,
Hey, some of the girls aregetting together and we're going to State Sailing.
(40:08):
We're going antiquing on Sunday. Iwould I would have to say,
of course, of course, ofcourse, we have all weekend to celebrate
our thirty fifth wedding anniversary. Right, Okay, yeah, that just doesn't
be on the day. It's onthe day. It's on the day.
And what are you doing this weekend? This weekend? I'm actually I'll be
(40:30):
working this weekend. I'm working.I'm working tomorrow right here at the Mighty
Mighty radio station. No. No, my wife and I from our our
third family are good friends who runa catering business. They need some assistance
tomorrow out at Smith College in Northampton. They got a big spread, big
to do, big catering up there, so they called in favors for family
(40:51):
and friends to come out and helpthem. So I'll be I'll be table
touching. I'm going to be actinglike a host tomorrow during the event,
going around making sure everybody has whatthey need. More water, more butter,
another napkin, ma'am, this typeof thing. Does anybody need anything?
We have an apron on and abow tie. No, I've been
instructed. I'm wearing a suit,so I'm going to be all buttoned up
(41:14):
looking dapper. Yea. My wifethe same, She's going to be gorgeous
as ever, so she'll look good. We're going to be acting like host
and hostess for this thing, asour friends catering company will be taking care
of all the food and the serviceport part of it, so we're going
to be doing the hospitality part ofit. Of course, you'll be earning
an hourly wage and tips. Ithink they're going to pay us in food
and beer, which I'm all infor. I'm all in for, so
(41:37):
I'm actually looking forward to it.My only request is they said, can
can we just make sure it's inside? Because you know it's Saturday and every
Saturday it rains here, So thatabsolutely good luck with a k Boston's Classic
Rock one hundred points up in WZLXCarlson Mackenzie and Heather Kenny Young our producer,
Boy, you worked hard this week, Kenny, as opposed to Yeah,
(42:00):
no kidding? Can jest? Surely? I gest filling two sets of
shoes as well as his own today, Kenny, pretty good, pretty good
stuff. Nine. Now it's fiftyfour degrees Kevin will return on Tuesday,
and Heather's back on Monday from herstaycation with her folks. In the meantime,
Kenny, big preparations going on forMike Vrabel. Mike Vrabel, the
(42:23):
head coach of the Tennessee Titans.Yeah, he's going to be back in
his old stomping grounds to be inductedto the Patriots Hall of Fame, rightly.
So, of course the Titans areoff this week. They have a
bye week, so he'll be ableto attend that ceremony, which is pretty
cool. Yeah, and he deservesit. I mean, the guys he's
(42:44):
on and off down there in Tennessee, but still maintains his job. Right.
I don't have it. He hashe gotten over the hump. I
know, I don't have it infront of me. But I once saw
the stat about his completion to touchdownratio as a pass receiver, because you
know what I mean, as alinebacker. But there was those few instances
where they put him in on offense, right, and it was like every
(43:05):
pass he ever caught as a Patriotwas a touch Like it's like magic.
You know. The teams couldn't figureit out. He schemed for Mike variable
as a receiver, unbelievable. Iwant to throw a Boston parlay out there,
but I'm gonna have a little tweakto it because I just cannot expect
the Patriots to beat the Buffalo Bills. Can they hang in there? Maybe,
(43:28):
like Kenny and I talked off theair, they could even have the
lead and then somehow just blow itright at the end and you lose the
money line the Pats you mean,or you're saying, oh, with the
Bills, I'm saying the Pats,Okay, So I'm taking the paths.
We'll take the on this on thisparticular parlay to cover the eight and a
half or whatever exactly. This Bostonparlay will include the Patriots plus the eight
(43:49):
and a half. Normally we gomoneyline. Well, I've told you that
every time I ever do any wageringssince I went legal here in mass on
my bet MGM or whatever it is, every time I put money on the
Pats, they So what you've instructedme to do is to put that to
ten or twenty bucks on the Billsto cover because it will have the reverse
effect. Is that what you toldme? They're karma? Bet? I
(44:10):
don't know you're my money man.Yeah, no, that's karma bets.
I do it all the time withteams I don't want to win. I
throw a small wager on the firstpsych first psychology for the betting gods.
Okay, So Boston College Football, they played Georgia Tech and they're getting four
and a half points. I wantto take the points there too. Wait,
is that in the heights? Isthat at home here? That is
(44:31):
on the road? Okay? Andthen New England of course, the Revolution
playing against Philly. We got totake the you know for heathers, you
know input there, we got totake the sport. But they don't let
you use your hands unless you're thegoalie. I know. So Yeah,
so we got the BC Eagles,we got the New England Revolution, we
got the Pats plus eight and ahalf, and the Boston Bruins taking on
(44:53):
the Kings Smart Night fourteen. Parlayhaven't been able to put it together,
so I don't know what it paysbecause they haven't posted the Bruins Kings game
yet. You know, I knowthe least obviously about the Revs in this
scenario. Yeah, they're underdog BC. I've been casually observing it is,
but I like this. Yeah, they're competitive. I like to get in
(45:15):
on. BC's been competitive this yearfor the most part. All right,
so we'll do that. I havea garage full of empty cans and bottles,
so I think I could come upwith ten bucks. Okay, good,
that's not all right? Can youvenmo me that? No, I
don't have to do that until Iafter all right, So the thousand dollars
bribe does continue. Yeah, ofcourse multiple times throughout the day. You
can cash in on a thousand bucksin the WZ like thousand dollars bribe.
(45:38):
Not only that, but if youmissed out at seven fifty, the win
them before you can buy them.Drop kick Murphy's tickets. They're about to
go on sale here at ten o'clockfor the Saint Patrick's Day residency here at
MGM Music Hall and House of Bliss. If you missed out at seven to
fifty for your ticket to Rock Pete, I have it on good authority.
Chuck Nolan has one more pair todayat three forty to give away. Ah
sweet, Yeah, I just lovethat little like you said. Residency four
