give to somebody as a holiday gift. Okay, the topic is give to
someone, and it's kind of importantbecause a lot of people that listen to
this show this time of year, and next week we're gonna we'll change your
topic just a little bit and we'regonna say what would you like to receive.
But a lot of people have alwayssat back and say, you know,

(02:14):
I have get togethers in different partsof the state, and you know,
we got workers that work from onearea, workers that work from another,
and they don't know the restaurants inthose particular areas. So this is
always a great way for people thatare sitting back listening finding great restaurants on
today's program that would make a greatgift to somebody. All right, so

(02:35):
what restaurant would you like to giveas a holiday gift? A gift card
too, that's the topic. Eighteight eight four three four sixty four sixty
four. That's eight eight eight fourthree four sixty four sixty four. Again.
We're going to pick our winner atrandom today and that you know,

(02:57):
hey, you got that great shotof winning it. Eight eight four three
four sixty four sixty four. Again. My name is Scott Wiley. This

off. Eight eight four three foursixty four sixty four is our number.
A couple of words about Wicked Bitesat nights here on Saturday nights here on
WRKO from five to six pm.Yesterday we had the folks on from fire

(03:42):
Element. Saturday was a Small BusinessSaturday, so I focused a couple of
businesses on that program. One bein Bedrooms on Route one South in PVD.
They are incredible folks. If youhaven't been in there, they have
like all your betting needs for kidsto adults, nurseries right onto the seniors.

(04:02):
They have those silly eye comfort bedsyou know that also have the adjustable
bases that are so cool, bothfor the kids and the grandkids. They're
bunk beds. I've never seen anythinglike it. First of all, they're
all hardwoods, so they're great materialthat they make there. But the bunk
beds are like castles, you know. Some of them are covered, some

(04:26):
have slides coming down, and somehave steps that go up to the upper
bunk and the steps themselves are actuallydrawers so you could put clothing in there.
So it's a great way to usespace. You know, if I
was a kid, I'd probably nevercome out of the bedroom. It is
so cool. So if you wantto see all that, just head on
over to Bedrooms Route one South andPeevity. They were featured on Wicked Bites

(04:47):
at Night last Saturday night or yesterday, I should say here on the radio,
and I know they have a setupavailable and I think zero percent financing
is also available at bedrooms as well. And I also had an opportunity on
Small Business Saturday to sit down withthe folks from fire Elements Root one Northbound

(05:09):
in Saugus, and I'm gonna doa Facebook live there tomorrow, probably around
over eleven thirty twelve o'clock tomorrow tosee some of their options. I know
that they're closed on Mondays, however, I'm gonna be there because they're gonna
let me in to see everything.I did that last year, I think
in like February, I did aFacebook live and these fireplace options that they

(05:30):
have and there are spectacular. Soif you have an old fireplace and we
don't even use it anymore, maybeyou're told by your Chrimney Street can't use
it anymore. Well, they havethese gas inserts to go right into that
frame with that fireplace, and they'rebeautiful. They pump up, but they
pump out a ton of heat andyou just do it by remote control.

(05:54):
Now, if you don't have afireplace, they got you covered there as
well. They could put it rightinto a wall. They could build a
fireplace into the wall and they couldbuild it around so it looks like it
belongs there. It's such a coolthing. It's such a cool place.
And you'll see a lot of thaton our Facebook live tomorrow. So that's
Fire Elements Route one northbound in Saugust. Come on, folks, they got

(06:15):
some open lines. I'm actually surprisedright now. It's pretty easy to win.
First time callers will welcome on theprogram today. The topic is if
you were going to give a giftcard to somebody this season, what gift
card? What restaurant gift card wouldthat be? It could be your local
restaurant, it could be you know, a restaurant that's really special to your

(06:40):
heart. I want to know whatit is. Eight eight four three four
sixty four sixty four. And youknow me, and I've always said this
on the radio show, I'm nota fan of those gift cards where they're
good at like one hundred restaurants.I just don't think that really shows that
it took any thought or meaning whenyou went out there to get that gift

(07:03):
card. You know, it's likehere you go, last minute thought.
I like it when you personalize itand you find that particular restaurant that special
and a lot of people don't realizeyou don't have to go to the restaurant
to get that gift card. Youcould probably order it right over the phone
the miller on out to you.So that you know is what you want
to do right. You want thatperson to spek to feel like you took

(07:26):
some time you thought about them. It's not that one size fits all type
of thing. You want that specialplace. So what would that special place
be that you would give to somebody? Eight eight eight four three four sixty
four sixty four is our number hereto Wicked Bites Radio. I got to
quickly tell you about Exchange Street Bistro. They are located in mauled In at

(07:51):
sixty seven Exchange Street. That's whereyoure gonna find John Carlino and I love
the Exchange Street Bistro. It's oneof the places that you know the food's
gonna be excellent when you walk inside. John's a big board member of the
Mass Restaurant Association, and he hasdone such a fantastic job with his restaurant

(08:13):
and really getting everything down perfectly, you know, as far as the service
and the food is concerned. Heeven has a three course prefixed meal that's
just like thirty two dollars per person. It's Monday through Thursday after five pm
and Sunday after four pm dinner only, it's just thirty two dollars. It's

(08:35):
a three course street fixed meal. It's really incredible. Exchange Street Bistro a
couple of items I'd recommend now.I love steaks. I love his steak
freaks and it served with the parmesanfries. That's probably what I would go
for, maybe even a rabbi overthere. It's so good. But they'll
do stuff like stear at c Scollopsand they serve it over lobster ravioli.

(08:58):
Can't beat that, right. Theygot a surf and turf with bake shrimp
at Terryoki Steak, which makes ita little bit different. It's all about
flavor at Exchange Street Bistro in Maldenand on Sundays at eleven am they have
a Sunday Brunch that goes on andyou can find items there. Now they
like to be creative, but it'sall about flavor. At the same time,

(09:20):
they're gonna do a breakfast pizza that'sone of the items they have on
their menu. But you could getcrabcake Benedict's, or chicken and waffles or
even a Monte Cristo sandwich the ExchangeStreet Bistro. Please say hi to John
Carlino for us. You're gonna loveit. I promise you that. And
in December, December ninth, Ibelieve that's a Saturday morning, we're gonna

(09:41):
feature them on the television show.So we'll make sure you see that.
Okay, Saturday at nine thirty onDecember ninth, you're gonna see the Exchange
Street Bistro in Malden. All right, got one open line right now at
eight eight eight four three four sixtyfour sixty four. I'm just looking for
that gift card you would want togive somebody to a restaurant because you find

(10:01):
it extra special? What is thatplace? Eight eight eight four three four
sixty four sixty four. Will kickthings off this morning and we're gonna go
to Michael in Southeast and Hey Michael, welcome to Wick of Bites. Top
of the morning. Scott, greatto speak with you again. How are
you fantastic? Now? What giftcar would you love to give somebody for

(10:22):
the holidays? Barrels and Boards inRaynham, Massachusetts, is a spectacular selection.
If I don't say so myself, you know, I have heard about
them and I've looked at them before. That really looks like a really a
cool spot. It really is.It really is the outside of the restaurant

(10:46):
and they shaped like you're going intolike a gigantic bourbon barrel, if you
will. And they've done renovations onthe place like I'll make it up on
the fly, like two to threetimes already, and the place gets sexy
or and sexy here every time. It's a great place for a date night
or a family The stuffies are incrediblethere if you're a stuffy fan. Yeah,

(11:11):
And I just like remember seeing someof the pictures of it and I
just thought it looked just like oneof the coolest places you're gonna find.
It really is. The staff's reallynice there. The day course is incredible
and just honestly, there's not onebad thing that I've ever tried on the
menu, and equally is important theresquatch and bourbon whiskey selection is really incredible.

(11:37):
Yeah, I'm gonna I'm definitely gonnahave to check them out. I
almost think of it and when Ilook at it, how beautiful it is.
I almost think like is this partof a chain of restaurants or is
this just an independent restaurant. It'sindependent, and the pricing really is not
off the chats at all. It'skind of like if you move that restaurant

(12:00):
anywhere to like if you move withthe Boston. Yeah. The food is
worthy, you know, it reallyis. I mean, you know,
maybe the andres are like maybe likein the like in the twenties, if
you will, that's not bad.Yeah, it's really not bad at all.
And it's fun to sit at thebar there. The bar is.

(12:24):
The bar is huge, all right, barrels and boards. It's located in
Rainham, correct, yes, allright, yeah, I I you know,
I gotta go check them out becausethey've been recommended a couple of times
on this radio show, and Ihaven't. I have not had that opportunity
to check them out, but Ithink they might be great to feature on
the television show as well. Absolutely, first bribon on me Scotch, all

(12:48):
right, all right, and thenthe second one would be probably all over
me. But I'll do my best, right all right, Michael, thank
you for your phone call. Barreland it's at twelve eighty five Broadway in
Rainom let's go to Joanna next inRevere. Hey, Joanna, welcome to
the Bites. Thank you, goodto be honest. Excuse me, I

(13:11):
just lost my voice. Ah,that's quite all right. Everybody's fighting a
cold. I've been fighting a coldfor like two weeks now, and it's
it's in and out of my voice. Yep. Okay, your voice sounds
wonderful. Thank you. Thank you. Talking from a speech in language pathologist.
Okay, well I'm going to getI got a therapist here, so
I got a lot wrong with me, right, Oh no, your voice

(13:35):
is really perfect, really nice, nice voice, Alli, Thank you my
pleasure. Okay, I'm calling forthe SeaGlass Restaurant and Lounge in I think
it's it's all Sorrey. Yeah yeah, on that. I just think it's
a nice place to go to getaway, especially having the waves pounding on
the wall of the restaurant. It'sreally nice to see, especially if you

(13:58):
want a little change in the winter. Yeah, the summer. I I
really love the fact that it's reallyit sits out there over the water,
you know, and that you knowthe water, the tide's gonna come right
up underneath it, and they havedone such a fantastic job beautifying that.
That restaurant's gorgeous inside mm hmm,and happening in there. Yeah, they

(14:24):
have just done such an incredible jobwith that property. And it's not they
don't just own that one, theyown the one right next door to it
as well. And I can't thinkof the name of it, but you
could see it, and I don'tthink it's open this time of year,
but you could. You could seeit right outside the windows, and it's

(14:45):
just so beautiful. H to seewhat they have done, and you kind
of revitalize the the the Salisbury area. And I think also at Christmas time
they have a Christmas tree you know, uh there. I don't know I
still do, but I know I'vebeen there before. Will you go around,
Let's look at all the different decoratedChristmas trees and you have raffles and

(15:07):
everything. They have a special weekfor that and they used to do and
they have everything. Entertainment. Iknow my friend's daughter Okay all had a
dancing dancing extreme a veganza was reallynice. So they had a lot of
things happening there too. Yeah, and I would recommend you go for like
an early dinner. That way,the sun is still a lot and you

(15:28):
can enjoy the view of the ocean. Well, I agree, I agree,
that's wonderful. When you were therelast, what did you have for
your meal? Gee? We hadso much. We had lobster rot I
mean this was in the summer. We had lobster roles, different kind of
a salad. I'm trying to remember. Yeah, I remember having some type

(15:52):
of a scollop dish when we werethere. That was just just and they
had some special and it was notlike it was. It was like a
lobster, like a poached lobster Ithink on on avocado and it was like
an advertiser appetizer special. It wasso good. But again, how could
anything go wrong with that view?I know that there was a specials,

(16:17):
you know, and I'm just tryingto think of every thing that was in
it. There was so much,But you're right, the lobster and the
skull of everything fish we had allright, Oh, had quite a few,
quite a few on trades. Well, Joanna, thank you very much
for your phone call. Again. It is called the SeaGlass Restaurant and Lounge.
It's on Salisbury beach. You can'tgo any further, just go right

(16:37):
to the ocean. So if you'recoming right down towards the center, there's
some parking lots there. It isright on the water at four Ocean Front
North in Salisbury, right in thecenter. And they have just done an
incredible beautiful when you walk in thatrestaurant, when you see it at spectacular,
Joanna, thank you very much,Joanna, thank you very much for
your phone call. Let's go toOxbridge next and we'll talk with Larry.

(17:00):
Hey, Larry, good day, sir. How are you good. I'm
doing fantastic, Larry, how areyou? Oh? Your voice is beautiful.
Thank you you. Are you certifiedas well? No, well,
I'm certified to check in maybe yeah, me too. My go to is
uh twin Willows down in Narragancer,Rhode Island. I'm seeing a beautiful,

(17:25):
beautiful inside great lobster roles. Andif you're a gambler, it's the best
because above every nal in the bathroomis a small little screen. So you
continue watching a basketball, football, baseball game. Yeah yeah, yeah,
but I I am not a gambler. I am so bad at it.
That's probably why the last time Iwas in Las Vegas, I put my

(17:45):
my ATM card into one of theATMs. I think it was in Circus
Circus, and I went to takeout one hundred dollars and it's spun around
and spun around. Nothing came out, so I even lost at the ATM.
Yeah yeah, crazy, great viewtoo. They cut down some shrubs
and you can see the ocean. It's all wooden mahogany on the inside.

(18:06):
A great Irish atmosphere really, andthe go to is to watch the watch
the role. But Steve is it'sreally great. It's not one as you
love it, all right, souh it's called the Twin Willows. Twin
Willows, yes, sorry Narraganton. And you don't have to worry about missing
a minute of the game if youhave to go to the bathroom. No,

(18:26):
it's perfect. I've never seen sucha thing, A small little screens
above them. It's great. Yeah. Yeah, I've been to one other
restaurant that had that as well. It's like a sports bar and I said,
well that that's kind of unique. But I'm only going to be here
for hopefully thirty seconds or so.It's just it's just it's a good conversation
piece. Yeah, yeah, Iguess you don't miss anything. You don't

(18:48):
have to worry about it. Yeah, all right, and then talk on
down the road if you want todo this called the Coastcud House, which
is exceptional too as well, theCoast Guard House. I've heard a lot
about the Coast Guard House. Itried to get them on the air I
think this time last year, andthey stood me up. The it's kind
of seasonal though too, like inthe in the warm one that they have

(19:11):
the top that opens up of thevery top, and then I think they
just usually do brunches in the wintertime. Yes, yep. Yeah,
it looks from all the pictures thatI've seen, just absolutely beautiful. Oh
it's gorgeous. And they have tomusic every now and then live live shows
and stuff. Yeah, yeah,it's good stuff. Yeah, the Coast
Guard House, and that is locatedin uh at forty Ocean Road in Narraganset.

(19:36):
Yeah, that that I would liketo I would I would really like
to go down and see that aswell, because that looks really kind of
like a nice spot that you haveto do at least once in your life.
Right, Oh yeah, definitely whatit's it's a good time. Views
all the way through too, allthe way through. Yeah, and that's
the whole thing that the views arejust spectacularly there, Larry, thank you
very much for your phone call.Let's go to Pat next, and Pat's

(19:59):
calling us from westward. Hey,Pat, welcome the Wicked Bites. Yes,

(20:21):
Well, they have everything. Youcan make it a total night there.
They have entertainment sometimes music, sometimescomedy. On certain nights next the beginning
the first week in January they're havingSteve Sweeney's. They have a lounge.
They have a well fairly formal. It's like the Green and the Brass.

(20:47):
It's lovely. They have a bigIf you were going to do a crowd
for anything, they have a bigroom for that. But they have everything.
They have seafood, they have lovesto pie with the seafood, which
is delicious, haddic sandwiches. Theygo from No knuts. Well, the

(21:11):
nuts are at the bar usually, but we're at the comedy show exactly exactly.
But they have Prime Rib that isto die for. It's very very
good. That prices are very good. It's it's a family friendly restaurant,

(21:33):
easy to get to off of Rootthree. And the food I've never been
disappointed. They go from veal parmisanto like I said, loves to pie,
to prime rib to a ruben sandwich. They just have everything that you
would want. You know, ifthere's nothing that you're not if you're not

(21:59):
picking anything out the menu, you'renot hungry, all right. So Princeton
Station, and they've been around formany many years, I believe didn't they
do their patio over a couple ofyears ago they made it really nice.
I believe that was station, Yes, they did. As you walk in
this well, well it's actually themain entrance. Yes, and it's very

(22:21):
nice and always the service is alwaysgreat. There's nothing I can say bad.
And I've been going there since beforeit was the Princeton Station, all
right, so it's very very goodand they're hardworking people, all right.
So noted, thank you very muchfor your phone call, pat and happy
holidays you also, Dad, Idefinitely will. I'll see them a little

(22:44):

some lucky caller on today's program,we'll get gift card to that restaurant.
Eight eight eight four three four sixtyfour sixty four. This is Wicked Bytes
Radio. Yeah, welcome back thisWicked Bittes Radio. My name is Scott

(24:42):
Whitley on this Sunday morning, takingyour phone calls today with a very simple
topic. With the holiday season herein full swing already, I would love
to know a place that you wouldgive a gift card to. What restaurant
would that be to somebody because youfind it extra special in your heart for
a particular reason. It could bea local restaurant. It could be a

(25:03):
restaurant that you visit every once ina while, and some are one person
today, one lucky caller today isgoing to win a one hundred dollars gift
card to that restaurant. So yougot a good chance of winning. We'll
do it till twelve noon today. Here's the number to call. Eight eight
eight four three four sixty four sixtyfour. That's eight eight eight four three

(25:26):
four sixty four sixty four. Igot a good chance of winning today,
right, I mean everybody's thinking aboutthis for the holiday season. You know
what, what's a great card togive to somebody? And this is how
I want to take it today.Next week we'll do it like what place
would you like to receive a giftcard too? Right? Eight eight four

(25:48):
three four sixty four sixty four.Again, Carol's going to take your name
and address off air, because that'show we will award that one hundred dollars
gift card to one lucky caller today. Eight four three four sixty four sixty
four is the number. Now wedo stream the show live up on Facebook,
Wikibyites TV on Facebook, and I'mjust gonna go and look at a

(26:14):
couple of the comments that are upthere right now. A good buddy of
mine, Bob, we had anopportunity to judge a competition together, Super
Competition, not too long ago.He says, thanks for promoting ginger Betties
and Quincy the other day. Yeah, I did a Facebook live there and
it was a really cool to see. That's the first time I've been into

(26:36):
ginger Betties and to see the wholelayout of it and how many gingerbread houses
that they make. They had oneorder of six hundred, and I saw
all the boxes. They were gettingthose out, I think in the next
day or so, and they doprobably like five thousand over the holiday season.
But they're gingerbread cookies, the bestI have ever had. And I'm
not a big gingerbread cookie lover, but boy, I could go through a

(27:00):
whole bag of There's They're moist there, They're really really good. So that's
ginger Betty's and Quinsy. He alsosays Procery Station Mall is a great place
with amazing clam chowder, and Isee Frankie writes in a gift card that
he would like to give to somebody'sRosso's Restaurant in Medford. Great food and

(27:22):
it's right in his neighborhood in Medford. Rosso's and it really is a good
restaurant. I love it there aswell. I think it was there about
a year or so ago. Wesat at the bar and enjoyed our time
at Rosso's. On after I didthat Facebook live on Friday from Ginger Betties
and Quinsy, my wife and Iwe we went on into Melrose to Bobby

(27:44):
C's restaurante and just had an incredibletime there and the food was outstanding,
and you know, I we're talkingabout it afterwards. You know, our
meal came out to less than onehundred dollars and we had a drink a
piece, and both of us hadappetizers and entrees, and I thought it
was really reasonably priced. One forthe atmosphere. The atmosphere's gorgeous, and

(28:07):
the food's really really good, andof course the people over there are just
excellent. Julie and her daughter. Her daughter are going to see behind the
bar and she made this. Itwas an espresso martini and the way she
does the top of it I've hadother restaurants asked me, well, what
do they do on the top.Well, that's sort of their secret,

(28:27):
and it looks great in photographs aswell, so I'd recommend it. I
would recommend that you go over thereand you try it. It's called Bobby
C's. It's located in Melrose.I think that's main street that they're on.
They're only open for dinner, butthe prices and everything are just really
really good. I would again recommendthat you go out there and try it

(28:48):
and say hi to all the goodfolks over there. TJ. Callahan's located
with thirty eight and Tilksbury. That'sgoing to find the Lovely Dawn. She'd
probably greets you at the door. And it's a great place to go.
Well, after one of those long, hard days, maybe we're shopping right
and you just want to pull yourbelly up to the bar and enjoy a
pint. You could do that.TJ. Callahans. It's very lively atmosphere

(29:10):
in there. A lot of localsgo in. I describe it as a
five star dive bar. I thinkit is a great way of describing it.
They have a scratch kitchen that isso good and I mean that at
TJ. Callahan's and Tewkesbury. Theirscratch kitchen has won the Taste of Tewksbury
Award for Best Entrees at least fivedifferent times, and that's how good they

(29:33):
are. So if you want togo in there and enjoy one of their
their lunch or dinner specials, theygot tons of specials, seven days a
week. It's amazing how many specialsthey have. Or if you want to
go in there and try their steaktips that they handcut right there, it's
a twelve ounce portion. TJ.Callahan's is the place to go and it's
also a great place to watch thegame. TJ. Callahan's on Route thirty
eight in Tewkesbury and today's show we'rebrought to in part by Boston Sound and

(29:56):
Prepared Foods. They have a bignews out now that they have this apple
crisp but that I got last yearand it came in like a six pound
container, so the average person couldn't, you know, couldn't bring it home.
I brought home for the holidays whenI had a big party, and
we still didn't even dent it.And it was like thirty or forty of
us here at the house. Westill couldn't dent it, but it was

(30:18):
so good. What we did,or what they did, I should say,
is they made individual portions and youcan find it at a lot of
specialty marketplaces and at market Basket aswell. Try it, Heat it up,
put a little bit of a vanillaice cream on top, and it's
like dying and going to heaven. It's so good. Boston salad and prepared
foods. Let's get back to thephone calls right now at eight eight eight

(30:40):
four three four sixty four sixty four, the topic what restaurant gift card would
you like to give somebody for theholidays? Eight four three four sixty four
sixty four. And somebody, somelucky caller on the show is going to
win that one hundred dollars gift cardto the place that they recommend. Let's
go to Exeter, New Hampshire andKelly next. Hey, Kelly, welcome

(31:00):
the Wicked Bites. Oh thank you. The restaurant that comes to mind right
off the top of my head isthe Green Elephant in Bucket Square and Portsmouth.
Okay, I'm not familiar with you, No, I am not.
It's in ports with New Hampshire.Right, yes, and you know it's
it's vegetarian, but you would youdon't miss the meat because because I'm not

(31:25):
vegetarian, but I have family thatwere vegan, and we went there and
my husband had commented if he hadthe choice between say, burgabab, which
is excellent across the street, hewould choose the green elephant infused. Yeah,
give me, give me a descriptionof some of the dishes that you
had if you could. Oh gosh, I know, it's kind of hard

(31:48):
because you're you're used to like, okay, veal, it's not like that
they got to use a lot ofa lot of different islands. We never
missed, yes, and you wouldnever and it changes, the men changes
and the drinks look quite good also, and it has nice ambiance. I
couldn't say enough about it. It'sreally it's just a really nice restaurant and

(32:08):
I'm glad we tried it because Idon't know if we would have if had
we not had someone that didn't eatmeat. Yeah. Yeah, And again,
it's always kind of neat that youfind something you probably thought you never
were going to enjoy and then allof a sudden you enjoy it. It's
called The Elephant Vegetarian Bistro and Bar, The Green I'm sorry, The Green

(32:30):
Elephant Vegetarian Bistro and Bar at thirtyfive Port Walk Place in Portsmouth, New
Hampshire. Where where is that? You know, it's it's off the Market
Square. It's on one of thelike the side streets where they built a
new hotel. There's Dare Street andthen there's port Walk Place. It's a

(32:50):
lot of good restaurants right in thatarea. Is the Bergaba, which is
across the street from them, whichis very good. It's burg is with
different made from duck and not justground beef, not just beef. It's
venicson dock, I mean all kindsof briggs with all different kinds of proteins.
And then there's down the street fromthere, I think the Federalist.

(33:14):
I can't remember that one. Ihaven't been to, but there's a lot
of good restaurants right in that area. Yeah. Portsmouth is one of those
nice those spots that has more seatsand restaurants that I think they have residents.
You know, there's so many differentrestaurants. Yeah, I think you're
right, Yeah, so many greatones. I love Martindale Wharf which is

(33:34):
right on the right on the river, has just incredible, incredible view over
there. H Yeah, friends justwent to that and they said how good
it was. Yeah, fantastic. The lounge and everything is just just gorgeous.
As a matter of fact, thatthe bar top and the lounge,
it's really cool at night. Now. I would probably go there as the
sun setting because you want to enjoythe view of the bridge going into Maine.

(33:57):
But the lounge, the bar topitself is made out of some acrylic
and it's like a three sixty bar, but there's lights inside of it so
it changes colors and just really yeah, really really different, really unique.
And it's called Martin Gale Wharf andI can't be of what street it's on,

(34:19):
but it's right by we're all thethere's a lot of restaurants right there.
I think, let me see ifI could find it really quick force
it could be Bow Street because there'sa couple of restaurants right next to it.
Let's see. I have it atninety nine Bow Street. Correct,
ninety nine Bow Street. But Iwould recommend it. I would highly recommend

(34:43):
that you go out and you experiencedthat that restaurant because I think it's great
as well. So a couple ofgreat recommendations again the Green Elephant Portsmouth and
and then my recommendation to Martindale Wharfin Portsmouth. Some great spots there,
all right, Kelly, thank youfor your a year round. It is.
It's one of my favorite cities. It is to walk around and enjoy

(35:04):
the sites. Kellor, thank you. Happy holidays. Let's go to Philip
next in Haverol. Hey fell up, welcome the Wiga bites. Thanksgiving,
I did, and it continues todaybecause I'm having the whole family over today.
It's gonna be about thirty of usover there. Nice, yep,
that's nice. Hop off Banka.Uh. Which one they got they got

(35:29):
they got several of them. You'retalking about, probably the one in downtown
have right, Yeah, that's theone. Yeah. That they do a
great job at all their restaurants.I have one in north andover right by
my house that I frequent all thetime. Yep. And I just think
they're few times located right en routeone twenty five at the I mean almost

(35:52):
at the junctions of what's that onethirty three? Uh, and we're one
twenty five meet Yeah, across abutcher Boy. It's across the street from
Butcher Boy and Mad Maggie's ice Cream. Is there about that one? Yep,
that's right. Yeah, there usedto be a Thai restaurant years ago.
Yeah, it was a Thai restaurantand they turned it into Casablanca,

(36:13):
and it's just just fantastic. Allabout that one. Yeah, it's almost
fun twenty five. Yeah, what'syour favorite items over at Casablanca? The
Guaca moli, Yeah, the guaka. Yeah, I like the guaka.
They can't beat it. Delicious,It's atricious. It's made fresh to autumn,
yep, can't beat it. Yeah. And their chips are so good

(36:35):
and they're they're their own sauce thatthey make on there that my wife always
gets extra, she puts it oneverything. It just do they do a
great job. Delicious Yep. It'scalled Casablanca. There's several locations and it's
also part of Acapolco, So ifyou get an Acapoco restaurant near you,
it's all part of the family andthey have several locations of each. Yeah,

(36:58):
but yeah, I would recommend Iagree with you. I think it's
a great, great restaurant. Phil, Thank you very much. For your
phone call. That's Casablancer restaurant inHaverol that he recommended at to Essex Street
in Haveral And that is sort oflike at the corner of Washington Street and
Wingate Street's right there as well.A lot of restaurants in downtown area of

out what's going on because here itis a Friday night, right, and

this's Wicked Byes Radio. Restaurant aFelipo's in the North End of Boston,
folks, and I want you tohead on in there. I owe Felipo

(40:13):
a call. I have been.We were just been so busy here at
the restaurant show and Wicked Bytes Radioand TV. We're still planning our holiday
party for the staff and we normallygo over to restaurant a Filipo in Boston,
but I see there's a lot ofsporting events at the garden because it's
a great place for lunch and dinnerafter a game. They have several functioners.
One upstairs is like and thirty fivepeople that could hold at its own

(40:37):
bar area and everything, but Inormally reserve downstairs the as a room in
the back behind the bar that holdsabout twenty and that's where we have our
staff meeting or I should say holidayparty, not meeting when we're there.
And we always love getting together asa crew because a lot of times the
television crew, we're not always together. You may see us on the television

(40:58):
show, looks like we are.I spend more time with just about everybody,
but you know, Steve doesn't getmuch time with Bianca uh and or
Lee because everybody's so busy with theirwith you know, doing their pieces,
that we don't really sit down allthat off and get together. So it's
always a fun time to do it. Restaurante Felipo in the North end of
Boston is the place that we useand I'm hoping to do it again this

(41:19):
year. We're just trying to finda date. That's uh, there's no
game or no event at the garden, which has been tough this December.
It seems like there's one just aboutevery single week. All right, let's
get back to the phone calls.Right now, We're gonna go to Epping,
New Hampshire, and Sue is joiningus not right now? Hey,
Sue, Hi, how are you? I'm doing excellent, Sue. How

couple. Great. Love your topicjust today because we recently got a gifted
a gift card for the place thatwe probably wouldn't have found. It's really
just only a bread his place, but it really is awesome. It's called

(42:02):
the Big Bean and it's and thewhat we went to was an Exeter Water
Street and then there's one in aNottingham a new market and I was We
spoke to the uh the way wecalled the host as he was taking us
to our table, and he justpresented himself in such a way I would

(42:23):
have swore he was the owner. He was so professional, so pleasant,
and he just seems delighted to haveus here and anybody else who came to
the door. He was just excellent. Now was incredible. I'm thinking,
and Sue correct me if I'm wrong. But when you say the big bean,
the first thing that comes in mymind is like a coffee bean.

(42:44):
It is, but this is nota coffee house. It's a it's a
full blown restaurant, so much morethan that a breakfast restaurant. You will
you will never have any other coffeeif you when you have the f you
have this coffee, all right,so well brewed. It is amazing.
Yeah, and how there? Howare their prices? I thought, very

(43:07):
reasonable, extremely reasonable, And thequantity is, like you, my go
to thing is an eggs Benedict,And I hate it when they just flooded
with Hollanday thoughts, and I forgotto say put the holiday thoughts on the
side. And there was no needbecause it was just the perfect amount,

(43:28):
you know. And Lou had amassive breakfast case ada with hot sausage,
spittage, you name, it wasin there, and it was just beautifully
presented, and he loved every bibleit was. He was very impressed with
it. So we were. Weprobably wouldn't have found that if we hadn't
got the gifts. The tip kit. So I'm grateful to our friends,

(43:51):
you know, Leslie and Gary. But that was h well, that'll be
out breakfast place for quite a while. It's called the Big Bean Kitchen and
balls are and as you said, there are two locations exeter A, New
Hampshire at one sixty three Water Streetand new Market at one eighteen Main Street,
new Market, New Hampshire. Yeah, God, can I tell you

(44:12):
about another place you've got to givestip kits claw you sure can. Well.
We we heard from your show abouta place called the Oven or Shane's
Bobecue yep, and they had thissweet deal and we actually took advantages last
year where you buy a gift cipketand you get it for half off,

(44:34):
you know, I mean, soyou buy one, you get the other
one half off and you know weeither, so we got like four hundred
dollars worth and gift stip kits. It's a place I like to go to
with my the girlfriends. Lou andI enjoy it, you know, you
know, for signing out. Butit's wonderful, wonderful food and very excellent
people worked there. It's called theOven and it's an epping new hand I'm

(45:00):

there and get that pickled pizza thatI when I Indeed, yeah, I
went in there and I said itsounds terrible, but I'm going to get
it because I want to take apicture and put it up on our social
media. And I thought it wasexcellent. I was shocked how good it

(45:20):
is. Yeah. Yeah, butand they do wings, they do,
they do a lot, and ofcourse they're making the pizzas out in front
of you where you could really seeit and experience. It's a great restaurant.
They do a great job over there. Interesting pizzas, great, you

(45:42):
They're a b LP on a chabbater. It's just, you know, amazing.

the French Engione soup, open facedturkey sandwich in the Shepherd's pie.
That that's what I've tried so far. And I think they have these spring
rolls too. I think they callthem Irish spring spring rolls, which well
like a ruben. Yeah, Ithink you're correct. It's been a little
while since I I I've had thespring rolls there, and I do think

(49:37):
they use a ruben inside. Andthey're so good that actually the whole the
whole restaurant is is really unique. They got the patio that they'll keep open
as long as they came out. It's probably closed at this point because of
the heaters. Then you have thedining section with the open kitchen on one
side, and then he got thebig lounge that's all you know, blocked

(49:57):
off, so it doesn't you know, the noise doesn't go into the dining
room. Uh. It's like threeseparate restaurants in one and it's just a
phenomenal restaurant there. They're they're fishand chips is great. Uh. Of
course you get a properly poored guinnessthere. They just do a great job.
Over at the emeral Rose. Yeahyeah, yeah. My daughter and

I don't think you could beat theviews in the food at this restaurant.
I believe they're open year round.I don't know about the golf course whether
they stay open year round. Ithink they are open as well. I
believe I believe the restaurant is openyear round. And I neglected to mention

that they are an Italian themed restaurant. Great stuff, great calamari, appetizers
and the whole nine. Yeahs. It's just a nice, nice spot and

done functions they're years and years agodownstairs and we really loved it. I
think that's a great gift. Yeahagain, and I just like taking people
there and show them some hospitality andjust to chill out. Yeah. I

(54:36):

to you, Bye bye bye again. It's called Grazzi And I see that
they were just nominated by the LowellSun Reader's choice for Best twenty twenty three
or they're actually going up for voting, not they're looking for nominations right now.

(54:57):
Yeah, I gotta say they're they'rea great restaurant. And I know

(55:19):
eight eight four three four sixty foursixty four. Again, I'm looking for
a restaurant gift card that you wouldlove to give somebody for the holidays.
What would that special place be.It doesn't have to be a fancy place.
It could be, you know, just your local restaurant. That's fine
as well. And somebody, onelucky caller is gonna win a one hundred

(55:39):
dollars gift card to that restaurant thatthey recommend on today's program. Here is
the number to call. Eight eighteight four three four sixty four sixty four.
That's eight eight eight four three foursixty four sixty four. And again
I got some open lines for thefirst time in a while on today's program.

(56:00):
This bakery. I love Josie's Bakery. They're in that Crossroad shopping plaza
in Wilmington. I I got mywife's she had a big birthday about a
month ago, at a month anda half ago at this point, and
I wanted a special cake for thatspecial occasion. I called Josie and I

(56:20):
did it all by myself without herknowing, right, And they're like okay.
They start asking me questions, well, why do you want us to
design the cake? What do youwant to do? And I'm like,
wow, I didn't think that farinto it. I just wanted something that's
spectacular. So I actually sent themover a picture of the plate set that
I got for that special because wedid a surprise party for her. So
I sent them the place set overand they sort of matched the colors and

(56:44):
everything. It was with black withgold frosting, and it was It was
one of those cakes that you hateto cut into because it's so pretty,
but we did and we enjoyed it. So they do special cakes, they
do wedding cakes, they do specialcasion cakes like mine. Or you could
just go in there and enjoy somegreat copcakes and cookies or Italian pastries.

(57:05):
Josie's Bakery is the place to goto Lowell Street in Wilmington. Now,
with the families all coming over forthe holidays during this time a season,
you want to serve them something great. How about Doms Sausage Company. They're
marinated steak tips. Yeah. Theproblem is they're so good the family's never
gonna want to leave. They're gonnabe coming back time and time again.

(57:27):
Their steak tips. They spent aboutone hundred thousand dollars on equipment to tenderize
and marinate the steak tips. Theyget like top grade steak tips first of
all, and then they tenderize andmarinate it and they put in that vacuum
packed seal so you could put itin the freezer for a long time as
well. It is so tender.I would put it up there with the

(57:50):
top two or three restaurants in theentire New England area. That's how good
their steak tips are. Yeah, and you can do them at home,
and you know it's cold out.You don't want to kick on the grill,
right, just do them in apan. You'll be shocked. How
could they come out? Dom SausageCompany ten Riverside Park in Malden. They've
been there for almost eighty years now. Say hi to any member of the

(58:13):
Botto Cheli family. You'll be happythat you did and you will definitely definitely
love this steak tips. And theydo so much more than that. They're
oh yeah, wholesale. They dothe host of Delhi. They it's like
an Italian deli there, like abutcher shop, especially market as well.

some of them called Vinnie's. Italso goes by Vinnie at night, and
it's right near Sullivan Square and it'sjust it's kind of in the back of

(58:58):
like a like a little story. But when you go back there, it's
just a beautiful restaurant and the foodis delicious. Yeah. Years ago,
and I mean years ago, probablyat least ten, maybe fifteen years ago,
it was a convenience store and itstill is a store. When you
go on the front, and thenthey had they had like a curtain and
the curtain would would kind of likehide the restaurants. There's almost like a

(59:22):
hidden restaurant in Summerville. And theydid fantastic o and their food's great.
Oh the food is it really is. They're chicken masala. I don't know
what. They put sun dried tomatoesin it, which is very different,
and my daughter always gets it.It's her favorite. Everything is delicious,
and it's it's a pretty little place. They have all these little lights and

(59:45):
it's weird because it's in the backof a store. It's great. Yeah,
well, people won't expect that, and when you discover it, you're
like, wow, you know whereyou've been, so where you've been my
life, my whole life. It'sreally wonderful. Yeah. And he'll do
chicken parmesan even like pizzas, likeI don't know if they're pan pizzas.

(01:00:06):
I think it is like a thickerpizza at times. And they'll do a
great Italian desserts there as well. And it's just really a hit in the
neighborhood. But it's sometimes hard toget into well, and it's tough to
pack. I have to throw thatand you have to drive around for a
while to find a packing spot becauseit's almost like residentially. I mean,
everyone has their permits to park.Yeah, but if you know, if

(01:00:30):
you drive around for a while, you'll find one. But it's a great
little place. I wish I couldget them all off, and I don't
go as often as I would like. So, yeah, Vinnie at night.
It goes by Vinnie's, but everybodyknows that it's Vinnie's at night at
seventy six Broadway in Somerville Parking. As you mentioned, could be a little
bit tough, but boy it's worthit. Oh yeah yeah. And it's

(01:00:52):
just a small, small place,so it's really kind of cool. It
is. It's really cool, andit's I think if you go, you'll
really have a great YEP, Iagree with you, Carol. Thank you
for your phone call, okay, and happy holidays. All right. Well,
we had full lines and they alldropped off all of a sudden,
So if you've been trying to dialin, you've getting the busy signal.

(01:01:13):
Got some open lines right now.Eight eight eight four three four sixty four
sixty four. You got to comeon and talk to me. You can't
talk to Carol and tell the restaurantthat you want to go to. You
got to come on and talk withme or you. The topic is a
gift card you would love to giveto somebody a restaurant for the holidays,
So you got to tell me,not Carol, otherwise you're just tying up

(01:01:35):
the phone lines. Eight eight eightfour three four sixty four sixty four.
And as they mentioned, someone's goingto win one hundred dollars gift card to
that restaurant that they mention on today'sprogram. The China Blossom Route one twenty
five in North Andover. They arethe critics choice of the best Chinese cuisine
north of Boston. The China Blossomon Wednesday night. Well I was there,
not this week, the week befour, Yeah, because it was

(01:01:59):
Thanksgiving this week before. I wentin on Wednesday night between six and eight
pm in the lounge area, theydo trivia that could be musical trivia,
but there's a comedian that hosts. It's a fun time. You win great
prizes as well, and it costszippo to go in and enjoy it.
You could sit in the bar andhave a drink, or you could eat
if you would like. They evenhave free your dirms. So that's on

(01:02:21):
Wednesday nights. And of course,as I mentioned earlier, we got Kevin
Cohnor Psychic Medium. He will beback at the China Blossom coming up two
weeks from today, December tenth. If you really need to get your tickets
now, because it's going to besold out. It's more than fifty percent
sold out already, and we neverreally mentioned it. And this is probably
the only show we're going to doprobably until maybe February March April. So

(01:02:45):
you want to get in there, and he's a psychic medium. So what
you do is you bring a photographof somebody who passed away, and we
put on a table in front ofhim, and he just kind of scans
the table and he'll do about tento fifteen readings during his time that he's
up on stage, and he'll tellyou information that only you would know.
There were so many people that goto Kevin shows that never bring photogos.

(01:03:06):
They don't want to be read. They're just amazed by his abilities. And
I'm one of those non believers, and I'm always shocked how good he is.
That's why I keep using Kevin Come. You know, if my name's
to it, I want to makesure it's great. And Kevin just puts
on a tremendous show. So it'sSunday afternoon, doors open at one pm
December tenth. The China Blossom inNorth Andover does include a Chinese function lunch.

(01:03:31):
The ord to tickets north surespirits dotcom. That's North sure Spirits dot
com. Well, you get themup on event Bright. He's probably the
best way to do it and gosee Kevin Cohen. It's great for the
family, it's great for friends aswell. Just make sure you join us.
Okay on Sunday, December tenth, but you got to get your tickets

(01:03:52):
because it will be sold out.And I would do it today because it's
just two weeks away. All right, let's get back to the phone calls.
We're gonna go to Lowell next andwe're gonna talk with John. Hey,
John, walk with the Wicked bites. How are you doing today?
Good? If I get rid ofthis nagging cold, it'll be fantastic.
Yeah, there's a lot of peoplethat have this nagging cold that's been like
three weeks now, just a headcold. And doctor mcgillo cuddy out there

(01:04:15):
drink of that. Yeah, rightright then you don't care, right,
Yeah, I'm calling for gift cardsand that in the village in and drink
it. Broadway Road. I thinkit's on one thirteenth. Yep, yep,
they one thirteen, you're correct, and it's like two stories of the
function room. Now, oh,they got the best prime river around they

(01:04:40):
I think during the summer they haveit like on a Tuesday, so you
know, you go buy the sign, will put it up and the uh
we usually get the party plans ofsteak tips for Christmas all my uh my
kids come over and all that.We have a you know Christmas body,
Christmas Eve and yeah we get thestake to platter and rice and all that.

(01:05:08):
Yeah, we give up. Iwipe those gift cards, you know,
rather than old pot to buy somethingfor somebody that's gott to regift it
anyways. Yeah, that's what youreally want them to use the gift card,
right, instead of regifting. Uh. And I think you're right this
this restaurant, the Village In indrake It. They've been there for many,

(01:05:29):
many years and I don't know ifthey've changed ownerships over the last time
I was probably there about ten yearsago, but I know they were noted
for their primary like you were mentioning. And they also have a ghost upstairs.
Yeah yeah, isn't that where thebar. Isn't that where the lounges?
So I guess it hangs out withall the other spirits. Yeah yeah,

(01:05:49):
yeah, all right. The Villagein and Drake It on Route one
third. That's a good good functionroom there. And it's plenty of pocket,
yes, yeah, plenty of pocketthen, yep, yep. And
it's a great it's a very popularrestaurant. There's not a lot around it.
It seems like within a mile orso. Afterwards, depending on which
way you're going, all of asudden you get into like more businesses and

(01:06:11):
stuff. But it does quite wellin drake It. Yeah, my son,
I'll listen to him to right. It's real close to that. So
we go over there, we stopit, pick up the body, plat
around all that that, we allhead over to his house. Yeah and
joy, it can't go wrong,John, Thank you for your phone call.
Happy holidays again. It's the villagein and drake It on one thirteen

(01:06:38):
at five forty four Broadway Road indrake It. Let's go to Lexington next
and we're go to talk with Gary. Hey, Gary, welcome to Wicked
bits Hey. Thanks Scott, firsttime caller. Oh welcome. My wife
and I have been listening to youfor years. I think we listened to
your dad for years. Great, thank you. I would love to have

(01:06:59):
a gift certificate to give my lovelywife for our sixty fourth wedding anniversary to
Brady's in Leminster. The reason beingis that that's where we lived when we
were very first married. We livedin Lemonster. I was working there,
and of course in those days, the big the big event was going to

(01:07:21):
the old going to the the oldMill in Westminster. Or we used to
go to the Old Timer for awonderful seafood buffet in Clinton. That was
years ago. I don't even knowif they still have it. But we've
heard about Brady's from you folks, and it's intriguing to us, and especially
being in Leminster. The whole thingjust has a real strong draw for us

(01:07:42):
coming up on our sixty fourth weddinganniversary. Well, I'll tell you it's
it's one of those places that isjust so cool. Bill Brady is the
chef owner of the restaurant. Andsince you're from Leminster, it's in the
downtown area. You know how mostof those buildings are like brick buildings and
stuff like that. I love personallyof that when they refurbished the bricks,
it just gives it such a lovelyatmosphere. I want to say. It

(01:08:05):
may have been a post office atone time, maybe a hardware store at
another time, but he has justredone that entire restaurant and and even right
to the tables, the tables thatyou would dine on. It's reclaimed wood
from Lemonster High School. I meanhe he really went that way. Well

(01:08:29):
she probably walked on those table floorsnow there. But the food is that
next level. He really does specializeuh in steaks. He does those cowboy
steaks and he dry ages them rightin the restaurant. And I can't think
of another restaurant in his area inLemonster and that dry ages food. But
Bradys is one of those places thatis this special. And my dad is

(01:08:53):
begging me to take him there. So, uh, we're gonna make a
maybe after the holidays, my wifeand I, my mother and father,
We're all gonna go down to Brady'sand just enjoy it. I think they're
only open for dinner. And you'llalso see your robot in there. We
affectually named her Rosie. Yeah,we'll take the like the dirty plates back

(01:09:14):
to the kitchen. Its kid's kindof neat to see. But it's a
great restaurant. I could recommend everythingon their menu. Even their desserts are
gonna blow your mind, it's thatgood. Well yeah, well, our
anniversary is coming up, let's saysixty fourth anniversary. It's the twenty seventh
of December and that's our anniversary andI'd love nothing better than to take a

(01:09:36):
walk back in time with my wife. Yeah, I'm gonna wish you a
happy anniversary a little bit early, but happy holidays. Gary. Thank you
very much for calling again. That'sBrady's restaurant. It's in downtown Lemonster at
thirty seven Mechanic Street in Lemonster. You're gonna love it. Say hi to
Bill Brady for us. So letme take a break here for the news.

(01:09:57):
We're gonna come back with more phonecalls. We've got some open line
right now. We're looking for thatplace that you would love to give a
holiday gift card to as a restaurantis concerned and one of our college is
gonna win a one hundred dollars giftcard to that restaurant that they recommend.
On today's program A four three foursixty four sixty four. My name is
Scott Whitley and this is Wicked BytesRadio. Yeah, this is Scott Whitley

(01:10:32):
and this is Wicked Bytes Radio onthis Sunday, Thanksgiving weekend auditional Wicked Bites
Radio till twelve noon today we're takingyour phone calls and for the first time
in a while, We have someopen lines right now, so here is
the topic. And if your firsttime listener, maybe you've never heard the
show before and you're listening now forthe first time. It's a pretty easy

(01:10:55):
topic and I could use your helpfinding great restaurants the topic this week and
someone will win a one hundred dollarsgift card to the restaurant that they mentioned.
With the holiday season upon us,where's that restaurant that you normally give
out as a gift card to yourkids, to office folks, to friends.
What restaurant do you normally do givethat a way to eight eight eight

(01:11:18):
four three four sixty four sixty fouris our number. That's eight eight eight
four three four sixty four sixty fouris our number here to Wickied Byes Radio.
Let me know that that restaurant andwho knows who knows? You may
get that gift card that you couldwe gifted if you would like, or
just keep it for yourself and goout and enjoy us. It's one hundred

(01:11:39):
dollars gift card. Eight eight eightfour three four sixty four sixty four is
our number here to Wicked Bytes Radio. You know one place that I would
recommend, I will make a greatholiday gift card. Is a place called
Premiere on Broadway. They are locatedin Summerville, and there's a two parts

(01:12:01):
of this restaurant out back. Theygot a complete showroom and I don't know
what they hold back there. Onehundred and twenty five maybe one hundred and
fifty people, I'm not really sure. And they do shows that they do
comedy shows, they'll do music showsin the back. And they do have
windows so he could see in ifyou're dining, and you could see into
it a little bit as well. But their lounge area and their dining area

(01:12:23):
spectacularly. First of all, takea look at all the artwork. The
artwork is by Kurran's father. He'snot a professional artist, but he did
all these on canvas. That theartworks are like singers, I think,
and even Lenny Clark, but alot of like sting. You'll see that
that these murals up there that areso colorful and beautiful. He did a

(01:12:45):
phenomenal job. I'm surprised he doesn'thave his own art gallery. He's that
good. And then at Premiere onBroadway, it's all about the food and
it's all about family. Kurrn's grandmother. Years ago, they had the family
owned a Delhi and on Tuesdays theywould basically, you know, make urentinies.

(01:13:06):
And there was a lot of workersin that era, construction workers,
and they knew Tuesday at eleven thirtyof the deli they have roentini and they
would form a line and they wouldwait outside. They're that good. So
she brought that recipe, of courseto the restaurant, but she also brought
a lot of other items, includingone of my favorites. They're chicken parmesan.

(01:13:30):
It's a head turner. It's sogood and it's large. You're probably
not gonna finish it, but it'sso good for the holidays. You could
go there with some friends and getthe anapostive board. The anapost board has
meats and cheeses and whole grain mustardsand house pickled vegetables. I would recommend.
I've had that as it really isgood. And on Sunday they even

(01:13:53):
have a Sunday brunch. It's calledPremiere on Broadway at five thirteen Broadway,
Somerville. That's five seventeen. Ishould say Broadway in Somerville and say hi
to Kern when you go in.It's an Italian American eatery with signature cocktails,
live music and dancing. Premiere onBroadway eight eight four three four sixty

(01:14:15):
four sixty four is our number foryou to call on today's program. What
holiday gift cards you love giving outto restaurants this time of year? That
is the topic. Let's find outfrom Roger in Hampstead next. Hey Roger,
welcome to the Wicked Bites. HiScott, thanks for taking my call.
Thank you, thank you, You'rewelcome. I got my wife and

(01:14:35):
I go to this restaurant in Derry, New Hampshire all the time. It's
called on the Corner Grill. It'son Route one eleven and Island Pond Road
in Derry. I don't know theexact address, but it's right there and
the food is excellent. We alwayswe always kind of get the same things.

(01:14:57):
I get to push up larantine andshe gets it's the chicken pacana and
it's always over the top good. And the floring team comes with a mushroom
risotto and mushroom risotto that is outof this world. And the chicken pricantas
just speaks for itself. It's justexcellent. The drinks are fabulous, the
waiters and waitresses. Sometimes we'll justgo in at seven o'clock on a Friday

(01:15:21):
night and we'll sit at the barand they have a nice set of different
kinds of draft ITAs and whatnot. And the food is good, the martinis
is great, the beer is great, and the staff is great and always
welcoming. Yeah, you know,it is hard, and you're right when
you go to these restaurants and youreally love a dish, it is so

(01:15:43):
hard that get up mouse because youlook forward to that dish totally, totally,
and it's consistent, it's always,it's banner. The flavors are just
off the top. Yeah, Andso it's called I would love to win
the Gift God, but I don'tknow if I'll beat the sixty. Well
we're gonna, you know, we'regonna put them all on a hat.
So we're gonna find out in aminute. It's called on the Corner Grill.

(01:16:06):
It's located at four eighteen Island PondRoad in Dairry, New Hampshire.
And if you were there on Fridaynight, I see their specials and this
may have steered you. They havetwo specials that may have steered you.
Elsewhere they have a stuffed pork chopwith purshutto spinach, red pepper's mozzarella top
with a cinnamon, apple and cranberry, served with vegetable and roasted vegetables.

(01:16:30):
Now, I will also like todrive their crispy duck served with a cherry
and pineapple sauce, served over mashedpotatoes and asparagus. That was their specials
on Friday Night. That both ofthose sound delicious. You know, I
haven't seen that one yet, butthat one sounds really good. All right.
I think I'll try that one nexttime if it's on the special on

(01:16:50):
the corner grill is the name ofthe restaurant in Dairry, New Hampshire.
Roger, Happy Holidays. Thank youyou, Scott. I appreciate you taking
my call. I thank you. That does sound like a great place,
doesn't And I hate that when yougo to these restaurants, and I always
talk about Lucia's in Winchester. Igo there all the time and I get

(01:17:12):
the same thing ninety percent of thetime. But the fruit's so good.
But I always go with that sixteenounce bone on like pork chop. It's
just so good. It was onthe special menu forever. Now it's on
the regular menu. The last timeI was in there, though, I
finally changed and I went with theveal parmesan. And the reason I did

(01:17:33):
it is and I was ready toorder it. I was ready to order.
I did it. It wasn't evenopening the menu. I know what
I was going to get. Andsomebody next to us ordered the veal parmesan,
and I just saw the sauce becauseI know they make the sauce set
Luccia's in Winchester, and that DavidColor, and I changed my mind and

(01:17:55):
I got the veal parmesan, butI put a little bit of thin layer
baked plant on top. Boy wasgood, But it's hard when you go
to these restaurants. You just neverknow. You just never know. You
see these great dishes and what areyou gonna have? You know, you
will say, I ain't got this. And it was great. I don't
know if I want to venture toofar away from it, but that sounds
like a nice little stop again. It's called on the Corner Grill at four

(01:18:18):
eighteen Island Pond Road in Dairy,New Hampshire. All right, if you're
thinking about buying or selling rare coins. Warren Mills is the person I want
you to call at eight hundred twotwo five seven two six for now.
Warren Mills. He travels the countrylooking for rare coins. He may just
show right up to your house.Yeah you heard me, You heard me

(01:18:38):
right, because he travels the countryplays some of the highest prices as well.
And this time of the year, you know what a great gift is.
I gotta get worn on maybe gameon the Saturday night radio show this
week or next week. This timeof year, we always like talking about
gifts for kids and grandkids that willget them interested in the hobby of rare
coins. And he'll always has sometype of you know, whether it's pennies

(01:19:01):
or nickels or dimes and sometimes quarterslike little packs that are that are just
first of all, they're beautiful, but it's really kind of like a great
gift. And he puts together alot of those type of items. And
you know, he's also a greatguy too. I'm sure he's gonna wish
you a happy holiday. That's WarrenMills. Warn Mills rare Coins in New

(01:19:25):
Hampshire eight hundred two two five seventwo six four. That's eight hundred two
two five seven to two six four. All right, let's go to Rhode
Island next and Portsmouth, Rhode Island. We're gonna talk with Rich. Hey,
Rich, welcome to Wicked Bites.I'm doing excellent a Rich? HOWD
thinks down in Portsmouth? Uh?Chili chili, isn't it? Yeah?

(01:19:46):
I could use it in an eightyfive degree day right now? Maybe that'll
that will get rid of my headcold. I have the same thing,
a head cold. Yeah, won'tgo away, but it won't go ned
eighty five degree weather. Right Well, the restaurant I was going to recommend
to you is Out of Chokes inWakefield. Oh yeah, yeah, And

(01:20:13):
I don't know if you've been there. I've been going to that restaurant since
it open back in Malden and thefood's outstanding. We love to sit at
the bar. It's a very comfortable, nice place to eat. They have
a big copper top bar, greatservice, the bar attenders are awesome in

(01:20:40):
the food spectacular, it's it's wellpriced and I've never ever had a bad
meal there. Yeah, you know, we did. My wife and I
did go to this restaurant last yearand it was uh, it was.
It was I remember being a Fridaynight and I just said to her,
let's go find the place today thatwe haven't been to, and Artichokes was

(01:21:01):
recommended on the radio show in Wakefield. I said, let's go out there
and we went. Remember last yearthere was that one night it was like
pelow zero, like like early afternoon, that the coldest night of the year.
We decided to go out to eatand we dined at Artichoke Arto Chokes
in Wakefield and we loved it.I love the building that it set in
as well. Just I'm not surewhat the building was at one time,

(01:21:27):
but it just feels like a pieceof history that you're dining in. It
was I believe a Y M cA. Okay, yeah, I could
see that. So yeah, andthe whole brick you know, ohll brick
on the outside, Yeah, allbrick and they it's actually condominiums and back
and uh it's a beautiful spot rightdid a lake and it's well worth the

(01:21:53):
trip. Yeah. And what didyou have when you had Artichokes? Do
you recall the last time there?I wish I remember when I was there.
It's been a while. We alwaysget their steamed little necks in a
spicy marin raa sauce perfect, allright, and it is spicy and then

(01:22:13):
well we'll split because of so muchof it. A veal and shrimp combination
which comes with a white cream sauceover fewsillly o mad chew silli delicious?
All right? Yeah yeah, Anddo I recall I mean, you could
correct me if I'm wrong. Don'tthey have? And it's one of the

(01:22:35):
few places now that have it.Did they serve bread before the meal came
out? Oh? Yeah, yes, I remember For some reason, I
really remember that, and because soa few places are doing that right now.
And I know when I was therethere was very few people in the
restaurant. But again I think itwas like minus three degrees and the wind

(01:22:56):
was kicking up at around thirty milesan hour that that Friday night that we
were there, not a great restaurantnight, but we had the whole place
to ourselves. It felt like, yeah, well you picked the right night.
Yeah, if you don't go thereearly, there's gonna be a way
wait. Yeah yeah. Artichokes inWakefield, yep. I'll recommend them as
well. Thank you very much,Rich for your phone call. Let's run

(01:23:17):
the north andover right now, wego to talk with Stephanie. Hey,
Stephanie, I'm doing excellent. Italked to you before about Faria's Diner.
Yes, yep, yeah, haveyou ever made it yet? I know
I have not. I I wantto get down there and try it.
It's just just our schedules are sotight sometimes hard for us to get in

(01:23:38):
there. But that did sound likea great place. And where were they
located again? In the one fourteenmall, right in that that market Basket
mall where Market Basket is and Coohle'sand TJ max In Laurence Stanley owned.
So it's you know, like asmall business. You know, you're a
small business people you know their helpand it's just fabulous there. I mean

(01:24:04):
I always say, you know,I always comment after I go there on
the Facebook page Mayor mc valley Eats, and you just can't go wrong for
their prices. There's people that havebeen going in there since the previous owner
and it's mom, dad and adaughter who own it, and it's just

(01:24:29):
it's just fabulous. Yeah. I'llhave to definitely go in and try it
again. It's right in that marketbasket plaza which has coals and a whole
bunch of stores in there. AndI believe it was the old was it.
Brigham's a friendly location with the oldBrighams where Brighams used to be.
And I mean your breakfast, youget the omelets and they're so big.

(01:24:55):
I mean you could take it homeand have breakfast the next day. And
they also have fried fried bananas forbreakfast and incident, like your regular side
of hash browns or home fries, they also have fried home fries and their
own sauce that you can use todip in. And even their meals,

(01:25:16):
you know, their lunch meals andeverything. They it can feed two people,
and the waitresses, everybody is justIt's a nice place to go because
everybody is just so nice in thedining atmosphere. It's just a little diner.
It's not a fancy restaurant. It'snot a chain restaurantuct Yeah, I

(01:25:38):
like that. I personally, I'drather stay away from as many chain restaurants.
I go to chain restaurants from timeto time, but they're kind of
predictable. But I always like todefine these little family owned places. And
I love diners, Absolutely love diners. We featured a lot on the television
show, and who knows, maybewell we'll pop in and feature them over
the winter sometime as well. Oh, that would be wonderful. They are

(01:26:00):
just and if you go on Sundays, make sure you if you want to
beat the church crowd, you goin before eleven. If you don't mind
the church crowd, you know, they start coming in a little after eleven.
Right, it's easy to get toright up for four ninety five,
So it's a right exactly is youknow? The one fourteen exits north handover
and you just go down when yousee the lights to get into the plaza

(01:26:23):
and you turn in and it's allthe way down at the end of the
plaza right right. You have togo past Market Basket and then there's the
wining Beers of andover you pass thatand then it's right there. All right,
Stephanie, let's tell everybody the nameof the diner again, Far East

stuff along that line. So we'lldo that as well on the Saturday Night

(01:29:16):
be back again next week. We'lltake your phone calls as well. Same
type of topic, except this iswhat where you want to go? Restaurant
gift card you would like to receive. That's going to be next Sunday from
ten to twelve. Right here onWRKO, I have our winner. I'm
going to announce the one gift cardthat they have one to the restaurant that

(01:29:38):
they recommended on today's program. Sowe'll do that and coming up in just
one second on the program. Butlet me first tell you there's a football
game this afternoon. A matter offact, there is some football this afternoon.
Hopefully we get some better results.Torrezo Pizzeria would be a great place
if you want to either for yourselfor entertain the crowd if they're coming over

(01:29:58):
your house or if you're gonna goto somebody's house, is grab a pizza
on the way. They'll love it. Totermezzo is located on Route one point
nine in Wilmington. That's their pizzeria. It all spawned from their restaurant in
the same town called the US TourandayTremezzo, which is an Italian restaurant and
they do specialty pizzas there. Butwhen they decide to open up pizzeria.

(01:30:20):
They said, you can't judge uson the restaurant because you know those are
we do a pershooto pizza, right, We're not going to do that.
In most places, we don't doa cheese pizza. So what they did
is they said, all right,if we're going to open up a pizzaia,
we gotta do the cheese, andwe gotta do it right because they're
gonna judge us. Right, Sohe decided the first thing we need to

(01:30:41):
do is buy a bakery so theycould produce the dough for the restaurant and
for the pizzeria. And they havedone that. And then the sauce.
That's number two for me. Dough, sauce, cheese. Right, you
can hide a bad pizza otherwise. And they have all three taken care of.
The dough is made by Joseph Bakeryin Wilmington, and it makes for

(01:31:03):
the restaurant and for the pizzeri. They also do the desserts. The sauce
six full hours to prepare. It'sit's fresh, and the sauce there's meat
inside and they slow cook it atlow temperatures. That brings out all the
flavor right, and then then theyI think they pull out all the meat

(01:31:27):
and that's how they make their sauce. It's all that flavor that's built into
it. So if you want togo in there and get the al Capone,
which is pepperoni, imported ham, meatballs, sausage, and crispy and
crispy bacon, that that, tome is important they could do that.
I love a couple of their otherpizzas. One that I fell in love
with at their restaurant is their barbecuedchicken. It's pulled chicken, uh that

(01:31:50):
that is served with caramelized onions ontop of it as well, and their
barbecue sauce is drizzled on top. It's phenomenal at the restaurant. Another one
of my favorites is the Hawaii fiveOh. I know it's Hawaiian pizza and
a lot of people either think you'recrazy for ordering a pizza like that or

(01:32:11):
they agree with you. To me, it's it's one of my favorites.
I love it the Hawaii five Oh. They also do subs, col zones,
salads, chicken wings, dinners, and so much more, including great
desserts. Tremezzo Pizzeria Route One twentynine in Wilmington. Please say hi to
Rick Low for us. All right, you're ready for the winner, folks,
